Is Keir Starmer’s Art of the Deal more sinister than we thought?

In an article for Spiked Online, Columnist Simon Evans parodied Donald Trump’s ‘Art of the Deal’ as ‘Keir Starmer’s Art of the Deal’.

Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP, UK Prime Minister
Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP, UK Prime Minister

The UK PM, said Mr Evans, ‘is shaping up to be the worst negotiator in political history’.

I’m going to take a sideways look at Keir Starmer’s deal-making, because I think Mr Evans might be starting from the quite reasonable presumption that a British Prime Minister naturally has the best interests of the United Kingdom at heart, and because of sheer inability, the current occupier of that august office has simply botched it.

I’m not so sure of all that. The truth of the matter could be far, far more serious.

The Chagos Island Deal

Policy Exchange were among many to raise the security implications of Sir Keir's 'Chagos Island Deal, but the Prime Minister ignored them.
Policy Exchange were among many to raise the security implications of Sir Keir’s ‘Chagos Island Deal, but the Prime Minister ignored them.

Let me explain. As evidence, Simon Evans brought in Sir Keir’s Chagos Islands deal.

The Prime Minister signed this deal in May 2025. It is likely to cost the UK Treasury 10 times the initially quoted £3.4 billion over the next century. If Britain in any recognisable form is still here.

We are leasing back our own Diego Garcia military base for 99 years. And Sir Keir has even handed the homeland of the actual Chagossians to another country. ‘It is hard to find anything but abject defeat in this deal,’ says Mr Evans.

Closer to home, he cites Mr Starmer’s ‘one-in-one-out’ migrant-exchange deal with France.
‘Nearly 1,000 migrants have arrived via small boat since only the beginning of this week’, complains Mr Evans.

Now add in Sir Keir’s deal with the EU, his deal with India, both of which, says Mr Evans, did harm to the UK, and what more evidence do you need?

Son of Toolmaker ‘is bad Dealmaker’

Simon Evan's caricature for his articles in Spiked Online.
Simon Evan’s caricature for his articles in Spiked Online.

Simon Evans concludes that the son of a presumably good toolmaker is a poor dealmaker. But maybe, just maybe, Mr Evans is missing the point.

What if advancing the United Kingdom is not the metric by which to judge the Starmer’s deal-making?

He would not be the first Prime Minister with an opposite objective from that which you and Mr Evans believed he naturally would have.

David Cameron, for instance, thought more of promoting gay rights in Africa than trade with Africa. While British envoys were solemnly attaching LGBT strings to proposed trade deals, the Russians were doing deals across the continent without any such baggage.

It’s all about what you want to achieve. For Mr Cameron, it was gay rights, not British interests. For his successor Theresa May, it was climate activism and Net Zero which came before the prosperity of the United Kingdom.

Boris Johnson continued that idea and put appeasing Big Pharma and his hapless health advisors before the liberties and real health of the British people during the Covid.

Sacred Cows

David Cameron awarded as gay 'Ally of the Year' in 2016
David Cameron was gay ‘Ally of the Year’ in 2016

So what if Sir Keir has the same mentality, but this time, as they say, on steroids?

What if he is always consciously putting his sacred cows of multiculturalism, globalism, open borders, NetZero, de-industrialisation, British guilt, accommodation, appeasement, ‘moral leadership’, also known as virtue signalling, a long way before any actual British interests which might annoyingly occur to him?

If we adopt that assumption as our starting point, then, in every deal, Sir Keir has manifestly achieved his aims.

But it goes without saying that, outside the elite, the blob, the quangocracy, British people rather want their leaders to prosper them and the United Kingdom and be, as scripture says:

Exod 18:21 … able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness;

The Prime Minister should be, as the Apostle Paul says in Romans 13:

Romans 13:4 … the minister of God to thee for good.

Why has Kemi Badenoch lost her faith?

At a time when this United Kingdom is crying out for a leader prepared to confess Christ and lead the nation in repentance back to the King of kings, one contender for the office of Prime Minister has announced she has lost her faith, in somewhat strange circumstances.

Kemi Badenoch has revealed that the case of Josef Fritzl made her reject God. The Daily Telegraph has the story.

The Tory leader says the behaviour of the Austrian, who kept his daughter captive for 24 years, “killed” her belief in God. Mrs Badenoch said that after reading the story of Fritzl’s daughter Elisabeth and how she kept praying to be saved, ‘it was like someone blew out a candle’ on her faith.

Mistake not to ’Do God’

Kemi Badenoch says that that she still has ‘cultural Christianity’ but is now not a believer. The Conservative Party leader grew up in a Christian household, having had a grandfather who was a clergyman. She told the BBC: ‘I believed that there was a God, and I would have defined myself as a Christian apologist, always arguing with people about why there was a God.

‘And in 2008, this story about Josef Fritzl and his daughter, who was locked in a cellar for 24 years … That killed it.’

Tony Blair (R) & Alastair Campbell
Tony Blair (R) & Alastair Campbell

Sir Keir Starmer is the first self-declared atheist Prime Minister. Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair’s spin doctor, was also an atheist. He intervened in an interview to prevent Mr Blair answering a question about his Christianity by saying: ‘We don’t do God.

Years later, Mr Blair, by now a Catholic, said it was a mistake for politicians not to ‘Do God’. In an interview in 2009 he said: ‘As the years of my premiership passed, one fact struck me with increasing force: that failure to understand the power of religion meant failure to understand the modern world. … Leaders, whether of religious faith themselves or not, have to “do God”.’

But that is far from the wholehearted ability to grasp the spiritual dimension of events and call on the ‘power in the blood’ which a prime minister will need in the days ahead. If you agree, sign our Petition:

Prayers Answered

Mrs Badenoch said that she read the account of Elisabeth Fritzl and said: ‘I thought, I was praying for all sorts of stupid things and I was getting my prayers answered.

‘I was praying to have good grades. My hair should grow longer, and I would pray for the bus to come on time so I wouldn’t miss something. It’s like, why were those prayers answered and not this woman’s prayers? And it just, it was like someone blew out a candle.’

’Cultural Christianity’

Mrs Badenoch said that she still had “cultural Christianity”, something that she found has grown as she got older.

‘The just wanting to protect certain things because I think the world that we have in the UK is very much built on many Christian values, but it’s that belief in God itself.’

She added: ‘I rejected God, not Christianity. So I would still define myself as a cultural Christian.’

Richard Dawkins - Cultural Christian
Richard Dawkins – Cultural Christian

But then again, as reported by CARE, evolutionist Richard Dawkins also claims to be a ‘cultural Christian’. Last year, in an interview with LBC, he declared Christianity to be a ‘fundamentally decent religion’, and lamented the way in which in London the city was more decorated with symbols for Ramadan than with those of Easter.

Kemi too loves Easter, saying that people in Britain should ‘talk more’ about the holiday. She told GB News in April: ‘It comes with spring and the sunshine comes in. So we have freedom of religion in this country. We should make sure that people are free to celebrate their religion, not impose it on other people. Whatever the religion. Let’s not impose it. But yeah, let’s talk more about Easter. Why not?’

Once more she is missing the point that a nation’s laws depend on its culture, which depends on its religion. It is not for the State to impose the First Commandment but rather itself to observe it.

Telegraph readers’ comments

Telegraph readers brought many dimensions to the discussion.

Tao-das said: ‘Kemi I am disappointed, not because you said you no longer believe in God but because of the reasons you gave.’

James Williams agreed: ‘Is she really naive enough to think that there isn’t much worse than that going on in the world right now!?’

As did P.B.: ‘Dear me. Hasn’t she read the bible? Tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Humans are capable of evil and can actively choose to be good. Atheists have achieved Stalin and Hitler and Mao – as predicted by Nietzsche when he proclaimed that god is dead. Peterson is good on this….’

Stephen Ross said: ‘I respect what Kemi has said but strongly and respectfully disagree. I cannot form a view or response of God based on the behaviour of other people whether claiming to follow him or not when their behaviour is the complete anthesis of everything God stands for and has demonstrated through other people and circumstances in my life. Its like branding a school as poor when there is one bad teacher out of a staff of many good teachers.’

the question of suffering

Emelye Simpkin wrote: ‘Questions of suffering are, of course, immensely difficult to answer in relation to belief and trust in God, but if you base your belief decision on whether every prayer is answered, then you have missed the point. Start with a gospel and the identity of Jesus.’

David Sage observed: ‘Look at Christ and the apostles and see how badly they were treated yet they spread belief. There is Evil and it does and is doing, all over the world, even here, most terrible things. The alternative would be for God to refuse Free Will and enforce right behaviour.’

Mark Daugherty brought this: ‘I came from a horrific family situation. Violent beatings that continued for 17 years until my escape from them. I was drugged to facilitate the beatings. Left with permanent injury that has affected my whole life, and will eventually kill me. On two separate occasions I was starved to the point of near death. Many other horrific assaults.
Curiously, going through hell on earth had the opposite effect upon me. In the terrible pit I came to a certainty that God did exist, and to this day am convinced that it was God that kept me functional, and saw me to the other side. I am convinced it is my life long faith that enabled me to slowly rebuild my life, and form a character I believe to be loving despite what I went through.
‘This article really scores on me. I have no condemnation or judgement in my heart for anyone who struggles with the question of how there can be a God in a world of evil. It is perhaps the oldest dilemma of humankind. I can’t imagine living without a conception of God. I sympathize with those who never have that peace in their heart.

Born into the Kingdom

Paul Carpenter said: ‘Yes there is evil in the world but also an almighty good God. There are two kingdoms, the kingdom of Light and the kingdom of Darkness. God gives everyone free will to choose light or darkness. Satan’s kingdom (which he took from Adam) lies, steals, kills and destroys and we are all born into it. His kingdom is defeated and Christ is coming to judge the earth (Israel is the sign that this is imminent). We escape being condemned by being spiritually born into the kingdom of light. This follows repentance, confession and faith in Christ’s covenant finished work to deal with our sinfulness at the Cross.’

Claire Jenkins took aim at ‘cultural Christianity’: ‘I find this incredibly sad, as it suggests that Badenoch had a learned faith not a personal one, and due to reading about one man’s actions has come to the conclusion that God is ultimately untrustworthy.
‘And let’s be very clear here, if she has rejected God, she has rejected Christianity. You cannot do the one without the other, as then Easter and Christmas become “holidays” rather than noted Holy days.’

’Low cost option’

Cato Censor agreed: ‘I do admire Kemi’s pluck, but “cultural Christian” seems a very low cost option. Now if Jesus had only thought of that, well, no cross?’

D Storey was cutting: ‘Let’s make someone else’s misery all about me. How very 21st century.’

Christopher Young went back a bit: ‘What a surprise the last decent Christian leader was Thatcher and the last decent point of our Country was under her.’

Caroline van den Berg urged prayer: ‘We better start praying for a second coming of Jesus Christ so all these politician realise God does exist, he is more than the Easter Bunny .
‘What we need is a single individual committed to principle who can illuminate the path of virtue for generations to follow .
‘There will always be Evil people like Josef Fritzl we only have to look at our screens to see it. But we have faith hope and charity which can change the world . Keep praying.’

This momentous step has been taken, not in a British city, but in Jumilla (pronounced ‘Hu-mi-ya’), in Murcia, near Alicante in south-east Spain. Muslims and the godless left are outraged. Mounir Benjelloun Andaloussi Azhari, president of the Spanish federation of Islamic organisations, labelled the proposal ‘Islamophobic and discriminatory’ when speaking with El País newspaper. ‘They’re not going after other religions, they’re going after ours,’ he said. Now, if he is right, why would that be?

Francisco Lucas, the socialist leader in Murcia, said on X: ‘The PP violates the constitution and puts social cohesion as risk simply in the pursuit of power.’ Ah yes, ‘social cohesion’.

LBC reports that Jumilla has a population of about 27,000 – with roughly 7.5% coming from largely Muslim countries.

The move comes less than a month after several people were left injured during what the BBC describes as ‘anti-migrant unrest’ in Torre Pacheco, 70 miles south of Jumilla, after a pensioner was reportedly beaten up by three Moroccan men, no doubt in the cause of ‘social cohesion’.

In a dramatic statement, Vox posted on X: ‘Thanks to Vox the first measure to ban Islamic festivals in Spain’s public spaces has been passed. Spain is and will be forever the land of Christian people.’

Spain’s religious history

Muslim forces from North Africa, the Moors, invaded Spain in 711. According to the BBC, which, naturally, presents the conquest in a positive light, ‘in seven years (they) conquered the entire Iberian peninsula’. This was during the ‘the Age of the Saints’, which some call the ‘Dark Ages’. It was a time of great learning and evangelism in Europe, especially in the British Isles. The Iberian peninsula was however the province of tribes of Visigoths. There was of course no such entity as ‘Spain’.

The Abandonment of Granada by Boadbil, to Isabel I of Castilla and Fernando II of Aragon. By Francisco Pradilla y Ortiz (1848–1921)

Consequently, it took five hundred years, until the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, near Bilbao in northern Spain, fought on 16th July 1212, for the ‘Reconquista’ by Christian forces to begin. EBSCO reports: ‘King Alfonso VIII of Castile sought support for a crusade, resulting in a coalition of around 130,000 troops, including a mix of Spanish and northern European forces.’ At Tolosa, the Christian army defeated the forces of Muhammad al-Nāsir, the Moroccan emir.

The Muslim armies were driven further south over the course of two decades until the Siege of Córdoba (1236) and the Siege of Seville (1248) in the southern province of Andalusia pushed the Muslims into the enclave of Granada in the south. Two hundred and fifty years later, on 2nd January 1492, Muhammad XII of Granada (aka Boadbil) surrendered Granada and the Alhambra palace to married couple Isabella, Queen of Castile, and Ferdinand, King of Aragon. Finally, the entire Iberian peninsula was controlled by the united ‘Catholic Monarchs’.

Andalusia today

Even today, Muslims view the Reconquista and the fall of Granada as a disaster, painting a glowing picture of Islamic rule.

Migrants off the coast of Spain
Migrants off the coast of Spain

After conquest by the Moors in the eighth century, Jumilla itself remained as an Arab town called Yumil-la until it was retaken by forces led by Alfonso X of Castile in the mid-13th century. The Treaty of Alcaraz was signed in 1243. Jumilla lies 211 miles to the north-east of Granada, the only part of Spain subsequently remaining under Moorish control until 1492 when they were eventually driven out.

With Muslims smarting over the loss of ‘Al-Andalus’ to this day, it would be no wonder if some would see themselves in southern Spain as engaged in a form of jihad to recover ‘their’ land. The Ayatollah-inspired Islamic Human Rights Commission, described by the Henry Jackson Society as ‘institutionally pro-terrorist and anti-Semitic’, has begun holding a week-long ‘Critical Muslim Studies Summer School’ in Granada in June every year. That in itself is provocative, so would it not be understandable, given their history, if Spanish people were to view the young Muslim men coming in to their towns and cities right now as modern-day invaders?

The religious dimension

The history of the Iberian peninsula is as driven by its religious dimension as that of the United Kingdom. Our post-reformation Protestant heritage came under threat from Roman Catholic Spain and the Spanish Armada in 1588. The Gunpowder Plot of 5th November 1609 is remembered in Britain to this day. But in Spain Christianity is identified with Catholicism and it is the Taking of Granada in 1492 which is commemorated in that city every year on 2nd January.

Jumilla Castle
Jumilla Castle

What if the Roman Catholics of Spain, learning from their history, now have something to teach constitutionally-Protestant Britain? Should our leaders not take off their multicultural blinkers and recognise that Islam and its practitioners bring a similar present-day threat to the United Kingdom?

If our elite woke up to the spiritual dimension they would accept that the sights of the majority of Muslims in our midst are set on a greater goal than assimilation and integration. In response, they would stop giving in to Muslim demands, end the provision of halal food in prisons and schools, disband the sharia courts, clamp down hard on anti-semitism (rather than free speech), deport the illegal migrants and criminals and encourage Muslims to leave this nation. They may think they are using the Muslims to destroy our Christian heritage, but Islam will destroy them, ‘British values’ and all.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Prov 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

Above all, our leaders should proclaim that the United Kingdom is a constitutionally-Christian country and that is how it will stay. If the Muslim migrant invasion really is the Lord’s judgment for our manifold sins (and who knows how many crossing the Channel are terrorist ‘sleepers’?), a reaffirmation that Jesus Christ is Sovereign over our land will be the necessary first step to national repentance and seeking the mercy of the King of kings. We may not have long. If the next Prime Minister does not ‘Do God’ and confess Christ it could be game over for ‘this green and pleasant land’:

Judges 10:13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

Recent government data reveals a significant increase in welfare payments to households with at least one foreign national, reaching £941 million in March 2025, nearly doubling from £461 million in March 2022.

This surge now accounts for 15.5% of the total monthly Universal Credit spending.

The rise in claims has prompted discussions about the sustainability of the UK’s welfare system and its capacity to support both native

The current system may inadvertently incentivise migration by offering generous benefits, potentially straining public resources. Neil O’Brien, a former Tory health minister, highlighted concerns over the rapid growth of benefit spending and migration rates, suggesting that the government’s approach may be too lenient.

The surge in channel crossings

In the first half of 2025, the UK witnessed a significant increase in migrants crossing the English Channel, with over 14,800 individuals arriving by late May—a 42% rise compared to the same period in 2024.

Smuggling gangs have adapted new tactics by using larger boats, some carrying over 80 people, and launching from inland waterways to evade French police intervention.

The UK has invested £480 million to bolster French beach patrols, yet interception rates have declined, raising concerns about the effectiveness of current strategies.

Upon arrival, asylum seekers in the UK are entitled to basic support while their claims are processed.
This includes accommodation and a weekly allowance of £45 per person, or £9.10 if meals are provided.

Additional support is available for pregnant women and young children. However, asylum seekers are not permitted to work and have no access to mainstream benefits like Universal Credit unless granted refugee status.

Ask us to come and speak at your church →

Defense and border control expenditures

The UK has invested heavily in bolstering border security, including a £480 million agreement with France to enhance beach patrols and curb Channel crossings.

Despite this, interception rates have declined, with French authorities intercepting only 184 out of 1,378 migrants attempting to cross on a single day in May 2025.

The UK Coastguard has also been overwhelmed by migrant rescue operations, highlighting the strain on border control resources .

Meanwhile, in response to the increasing number of Channel crossings, UK ministers are drafting new legislation to fast-track the removal of asylum seekers arriving from countries deemed “safe.”

The aim is to prevent prolonged stays in the asylum system for individuals from such countries. However, critics argue that deeming countries safe doesn’t account for individual persecution cases, emphasising the need for fair case-by-case evaluations .

The strategic defence review

The UK’s newly released Strategic Defence Review (SDR) reads more like a vision board than a battle plan. Full of buzzwords like “step change” and lofty claims about being at the “leading edge” of NATO innovation, it offers little substance on how Britain will actually defend its citizens in a rapidly deteriorating global climate.

In fact, Prime Minister Starmer’s assertion that Britain will lead in technology and tactics rings hollow when compared to the firepower and innovation of the United States, which dominates with its Silicon Valley networks and orbital infrastructure.

There is an alarming disconnect between the rhetoric and the reality. While Ukrainian soldiers face real bullets and missile strikes, the British government has spent the past year penning platitudes. A war is raging in Europe’s backyard, and yet Westminster seems more focused on reshaping internal committees than reinforcing its crumbling military readiness.

Scripture warns:
1 Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

Delay, deflect, decline

The review’s few tangible promises are scattered and deferred. The idea of increasing soldier numbers “in the next parliament” puts any meaningful growth off until at least 2029.

Sir Starmer’s commitment to raising defence spending from 2.3% to 2.5% of GDP by 2027 is presented as bold—but it is dwarfed by both the needs of our military and the spending of our allies. His “ambition” to hit 3% is just that: ambition, not policy.

When defence minister John Healey talks about measuring arms innovation in “months not years,” he undermines himself by tying future growth to legislative cycles and parliamentary vagueness. The disconnect between urgency and action exposes the lack of conviction at the heart of this government.

They speak of “warfighting” as if saying the word enough times will conjure the readiness they have long neglected.

Jesus in Matthew 7:16 By their fruits ye shall know them.

It is not what a government says about defence, but what it does. And so far, what we see is procrastination in the face of growing peril.

The hollowed-out arsenal

Britain’s armed forces are not just underfunded—they are under-equipped, undermanned, and under-valued. The British Army has dwindled to just over 70,000 soldiers, its lowest number in 300 years.

Meanwhile, over 64,000 civil servants occupy positions in the Ministry of Defence. It’s as if the government believes paperwork can win a war.

Our naval defences fare no better. The ageing Vanguard-class submarines, vital to our nuclear deterrent, are creaking towards obsolescence.

A nation that neglects its defences, while evil advances, is one that has forgotten its duty before God.

1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Diversity over defence

One would expect our Royal Air Force (RAF) to be at the forefront of protecting British skies. Instead, reports suggest that its leadership has prioritised “diversity targets” over defence capability. In fact, internal policies have even skirted legality in the pursuit of inclusion metrics. The RAF has become a case study in how ideology, not mission, is driving decisions.

There’s a place for fairness and opportunity in every institution. But when those principles overshadow the very purpose of a military service—national defence—then we have strayed. It appears the real battle being fought by the RAF is not in the skies, but in boardrooms dominated by HR language and political virtue-signalling.

2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

A nation unready for evil days

While Russia tests hypersonic missiles, uses Iranian drones, and receives covert support from China and North Korea, the UK tinkers with its defence spreadsheets. Cyber-attacks on hospitals, and sabotage of undersea infrastructure are already happening. And still, the SDR speaks in vague tones, disconnected from the gathering storm.

There is little mention in the review of the growing threat posed by hostile foreign powers operating through covert and hybrid means.

Our adversaries are not waiting for Britain to catch up. They are already at work, infiltrating, undermining, and preparing. It is folly to meet calculated aggression with committee-based complacency.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

In a recent move, Avanti West Coast introduced a scheme offering free period care products on its trains.

Notably, the announcement referred to recipients as “customers” and “people,” omitting any mention of “women” or “females,” according to the Telegraph.

This choice of language has sparked criticism, with some accusing the company of erasing the very group primarily affected by menstruation.

This trend isn’t isolated. The Welsh Parliament faced backlash for providing tampons in men’s toilets, aiming to accommodate “transgender” individuals. This is a “waste of taxpayer cash” and a “virtue-signalling” gesture.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Stop Transgenderism Now!

The gender-neutral language

The push for gender-neutral terminology, while aiming for “inclusivity”, often leads to the unintended consequence of sidelining women. By avoiding specific references to “women” in contexts inherently tied to female biology, there’s a risk of diminishing the recognition of women’s unique experiences and needs.

For instance, the General Medical Council stocked tampons in men’s toilets to be “inclusive,” a move that some found perplexing and indicative of a broader trend of blurring gender distinctions .

Scripture warns against such confusion. Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.

The importance of upholding truth in compassion

While it’s essential to approach all individuals with love and compassion, it’s equally crucial to uphold truth.

The Christian faith teaches:
1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

In the context of gender and identity, this means recognising and affirming the biological realities that God has established.

Efforts to accommodate diverse identities should not come at the expense of denying fundamental truths. As believers, we’re called to speak the truth in love, ensuring that compassion doesn’t lead to compromise.

Moreso, institutions, especially those in the public sphere, have a responsibility to reflect and uphold the natural order as designed by God. By adopting policies that obscure or redefine gender distinctions, they risk leading society away from biblical truths.

The Bible states,
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Advocating for clarity and truth in public discourse

In light of these developments, it’s imperative for Christians to engage in public discourse, advocating for clarity and truth.

This involves respectfully challenging narratives that blur gender distinctions and promoting language that accurately represents God’s creation.

As the Apostle Paul exhorted,
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Aldi goes woke, puts children at risk

Aldi's new marketing statement.
Aldi's new marketing statement.
Aldi's new marketing statement.
Aldi’s new marketing statement.

The UK branch of the Southern German supermarket chain, Aldi, known to many families through the harmless antics of Kevin the Carrot, is irresponsibly sending its customers’ children down the ‘trans’ pathway, forgetting its foundation in family values.

In a shocking act of moral capitulation, Aldi has gone “woke,” publishing a two-page spread in their 1st June 2025 promotion leaflet, brazenly headed ‘Shine Bright, Shine Proud’. The Bible says:

Prov 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

The declaration is unmistakable: ‘At Aldi, we’re proud to raise the pride flag in support of the LGBTQIA+ community and our colleagues. Together, we can achieve more!’ This is no mere corporate slogan; it is a full-throated endorsement of an ideology that stands in direct opposition to God’s divine order for humanity.

For a family-friendly supermarket to raise the standard of “Pride” is to declare itself an adversary of Christian truth and a purveyor of moral confusion to our children.

Christian Voice has reached out to Aldi for their comment on these grave concerns but, as of publication, we are yet to receive a response.

Stop Transgenderism Now!

What does ‘LGBTQIA+’ mean for children?

Aldi, in its hubris, demands we accept its “Pride,” but do they even know what it stands for? What do the letters LGBTQIA actually represent, and why the ever-expanding “plus” sign?

For the sake of clarity, the acronym encompasses Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (or Questioning) – whatever that is – Intersex – those individuals merely lumped in for marketing purposes – and Asexual, presumably walking along in the hubristically-named Pride parade with a placard saying ‘I don’t fancy anyone. I’m an oppressed minority’.

Aldi 1st June 2025 promotional leaflet page 20
Aldi 1st June 2025 promotional leaflet page 20

The ominous “plus-sign” mops up anyone they haven’t thought of yet – perhaps even people attracted to trees, or those who tragically think they are a cat, for such delusions now exist, and join the parade.

Homosexual activity, once rightly called ‘sodomy’ and ‘gross indecency’, is now legalised across the UK, with “gay marriage” and the ability for gays and lesbians to adopt or even acquire children through taxpayer-funded IVF.

They infiltrate our military, civil service, politics, and mainstream media. The trans lobby has met a buffer, but is still promoted. The UK Government has set aside £40million to promote ‘LGBT+’ across the developing world.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Aldi’s treacherous alliance with pro-trans ‘switchboard’

Aldi 1st June 2025 promotional leaflet page 21
Aldi 1st June 2025 promotional leaflet page 21

How dare Aldi claim to be “family-friendly” while actively promoting a pro-gay, pro-trans contact group directly to children? We find ‘gay pride toys’ (with Kevin the Carrot reissued in rainbow colours), with donations to Switchboard for every sale) on page 20, seemingly targeted at toddlers.

Then, on page 21, a cherubic model, around thirteen years old by our estimation, stands as an unwitting face of this corruption. Buried at the bottom of that page is the promotion of ‘Switchboard’ – an anti-christian pressure group that started life as ‘Gay Switchboard’. Aldi claims Switchboard “offers a non-judgmental space,” but make no mistake, judgment is coming. The Bible says:

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Switchboard states its staff are ‘all LGBTQIA+’. Do Aldi genuinely think it’s a good idea to put children in touch with such an organisation? Aldi’s copy promises “a safe space to explore, talk and be truly heard about sexuality and gender identity.” “Truly heard” means not being contradicted, and “safe space” means parents are left in the dark.

Switchboard declares: ‘Whatever you tell us will stay between us.’ Does Aldi approve of cutting those of the customers who are parents out of their children’s emotional development and handing them over to pro-gay, pro-trans activists?

The Bible is clear: parents are responsible for their children’s upbringing, not the state, not gay activists, not supermarkets.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

Mutilation and madness

Aldi’s unholy alliance with Switchboard extends directly to the grotesque realities of transgender ideology. The ‘LGBTQIA+’ acronym includes ‘T’ for ‘transgender’, and Switchboard openly offers ‘gender-affirming care’ – a euphemism for confirming children in their gender confusion and pushing them down a path of irreversible harm.

Dr Hilary Cass
Dr Hilary Cass

Are Aldi even aware of the Supreme Court ruling of 16th April 2025 that unequivocally states ‘trans-women’ remain men, and that it is biologically impossible to change one’s sex? Do they know about the damning Cass Report, which urged “extreme caution” in treating gender-disturbed children and warned that “children are being used as a football” in this ideological battle? And Aldi, disgracefully, is now using children as a football to promote the evil of ‘Pride’!

Are they aware the UK Government has banned puberty blocker hormones for children? A GP practice in Brighton has only today been banned from offering ‘gender-affirming care’. See Here Do they accept these harmful medications amount to child abuse? Do Aldi approve of the barbaric mutilation of young women, having their healthy breasts removed because they wrongly believe they are men? Because mutilation, of breasts and even genitals, is where the transgender pathway leads – into a lifetime of pain, drugs, and profound regret.

Preserve childhood

The most fundamental demand of any parent is to “let children be children.” This means allowing them to grow, learn, and explore the world in a way that aligns with their natural development and the beautiful, undeniable truth of their God-given biological sex.

It means shielding them from the politically charged, ideologically driven agendas that seek to blur the lines of male and female. God created them male and female, distinctly and perfectly. To force upon young children complex, often sexualised, notions of “gender identity” is not only confusing but profoundly damaging.

It rips away their inherent security in their God-ordained identity and replaces it with a manufactured crisis of self.

Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Do not fund an anti-christian agenda

Has Aldi’s customer research truly shown that its clientele will 100% approve of their blatant promotion of both homosexuality and gender confusion to small children? We highly suspect that Kyrsten Halley, Aldi’s Marketing Director, merely sought a “right-on bit of corporate virtue-signalling,” or rather, “vice-signalling,” without a thought for their customers or their children. Her email address is khalley@hotmail.co.uk

As of writing, Aldi has chosen to remain silent on our direct request for comment, further demonstrating their indifference to the legitimate concerns of families.

Aldi's Kevin the Carrot in 'Woke' rainbow colours: Not going in our basket!
Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot in ‘Woke’ rainbow colours: Not going in our basket!

Unless this Southern German supermarket chain repents and immediately pulls this disgraceful leaflet, there will be no more Aldi products in my house. Kevin the Carrot, in his rainbow colours, will not be in my basket. And I suspect you, our faithful readers, will feel the same.

2 Corinthians 6:14-17 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God…

Therefore, ‘Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.

MPs will be shielded from council tax

2
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer knew Axel Rudakubana was an Islamic terrorist from the start.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

MPs will be shielded from the very council tax premium on second homes that they voted to impose on the public, in a move that smacks of double standards.

As ordinary homeowners brace for eye-watering tax hikes on inherited and additional properties, MPs have conveniently secured a taxpayer-funded escape route.

From this month, town halls will be able to slap a 100% surcharge on second homes, with thousands of homeowners now facing ruinous bills. But MPs? Their accommodation budgets have been “uplifted by a significant amount” to absorb the extra charge—meaning the taxpayer, once again, picks up the tab.

Leaked email lays bare the shameless scheme

A leaked email to MPs from the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA), exposed by The Telegraph, spells it out plainly.

IPSA informed MPs that their budget had been substantially increased “to mitigate the additional charge”, ensuring they won’t feel the sting of their own policy.

And if that generous boost isn’t enough? No worries. IPSA is “happy to discuss contingency” to make sure MPs never have to dig into their own pockets. Meanwhile, ordinary Britons are opening bills demanding up to £10,000 extra, struggling to understand how they will afford it.

A tax for the poor, A get-out clause for the powerful

Over two-thirds of English councils have introduced this levy, arguing it’s necessary to fill budget shortfalls.

Regular homeowners—many of whom never planned to own a second property but inherited one—are being hammered with bills they simply can’t pay.

But MPs, including many who voted for these new charges, have quietly ensured they’ll never have to suffer the consequences. Instead, their burden is conveniently shifted onto the same taxpayers who are already being squeezed dry.

Public outrage: ‘It’s extortion’

Across the country, homeowners are furious. Telegraph Money has been inundated with complaints from those who say they feel “extorted” by their local councils. Families who have inherited modest properties, or saved for a second home as a future nest egg, now face devastating financial hits.

John O’Connell of the Taxpayers’ Alliance summed up the anger, saying: “This will only pour salt in the wounds of those homeowners now facing 100% premiums just for having the temerity to own a second home.”

But for MPs? No such worries. They are neatly shielded from the financial pain, despite being the architects of this policy.

Labour ministers among the biggest beneficiaries

This isn’t a one-off scandal—it’s been happening for years. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Rachel Reeves, the Chancellor, had claimed £10,800 of taxpayers’ money over five years to cover her second home council tax bill. And she’s far from alone.

At least 41 Labour Ministers—including Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson and Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds—have routinely claimed this expense back, ensuring they never personally feel the impact of rising council tax costs.

Broken trust, broken system

The outrage isn’t just about the money—it’s about the principle. MPs are meant to serve the public, not exploit the system for personal financial gain. The fact that they have insulated themselves from the consequences of their own policies while forcing everyone else to pay up is a betrayal of trust.

If MPs truly believed in the fairness of this new tax, they would pay it themselves—just like everyone else. Instead, they have chosen to dump their financial responsibilities onto the very taxpayers they claim to represent.

It’s yet another example of a broken system where politicians make the rules, but never have to live by them.

Parliamentary reform: Lords? Or Commons?

2
Uk-Parliament by Roger-Harris

The Government are fixated on Parliamentary reform, specifically targeting the House of Lords. Well, of course they would never admit there is anything wrong with the House of Commons, would they? ‘It’s the other lot who need reforming, there’s nothing wrong with us!’

So obsessed is he with ejecting the remaining hereditary peers, Sir Kier Starmer has just nominated dozens of cronies to tip the voting balance. Aristocracy, bad. Chumocracy, good.

Reform UK go even further, saying there is no place ‘in our modern democracy’ or words toi that effect, for the House of Lords. But are they both attacking the wrong target? Is this mindless constitutional vandalism? After all, those people who set it all in place, step by step, just might have known better than us:

Prov 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Christian Voice National Director Stephen Green takes a sideways look:

He says: ‘Since Tony Blair expelled most hereditary peers, the chamber has become populated with place-men, friends, business associates, and donors to the party of the current or previous prime minister.

‘Labour will force out all peers over 80, which is puzzling given their manifesto commitment to give pensioners “the dignity and security they deserve”. Up to eighty, it seems, then they are too old to be dignified and secure.

‘What would the Bible’s Caleb have thought about that, who at the age of eighty-five could reminisce about the time he went to spy out the land forty-five years earlier and announce:’

Jos 14:11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

‘But not to come in to the House of Lords, so it seems.’

Ask us to come and speak at your church →

Appointment of life peers

Mr Green goes on: ‘They will also turf out the remaining 92 hereditaries, who are currently chosen by the rest. Labour will also ‘reform’, their word, the process of appointing life peers to ensure “quality” and representativeness. I smell another little quango of the elite springing up, don’t you?

‘The Labour manifesto also promises “an alternative second chamber that is more representative of the regions and nations”. I don’t begin to know what that means, except that it seems to mean some kind of a vote. And that would set up the House of Lords, or whatever it would be, as a democratic rival to the House of Commons.

‘But I wonder, if we are talking about parliamentary reform, don’t you think it’s all the wrong way round? What does the Bible say are the qualifications for leadership? Here’s Jethro, advising Moses in the book of Exodus:

Exodus 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness;

‘I imagine those men have proved themselves able in some sphere of commerce, or farming, or in battle, and ‘such as fear God’ means they are also humble. They don’t believe absurdities, but in truth, and they don’t do bribery and corruption.

‘Right then. How many of those people we elected to parliament in July 2024 meet those criteria? Do you see where I’m going?’

Support NCCSS / Christian Voice →

Our humble suggestion

‘Here’s my humble suggestion.

‘Firstly, Set up a commission to remove the cronies from the House of Lords,

‘Secondly, bring back all the hereditary peers and jolly-well set them to work running the country. Let’s see some biblical noblesse oblige, eh?

‘Thirdly, Expel all those who do not match up to Jethro’s criteria, that is the stupid, the incompetent, the godless, the arrogant, the power-crazy, the liars and believers in absurdities, the elitists, the globalists and the warmongers, the greedy, the self-centred, the self-absorbed, self-satisfied and plain narcissists from the House of Commons.

‘Let me know of anyone who you think would be left.’

J D Vance: What does Europe stand for any more?

US Vice-President J D Vance tells Europe's self-satisfied elite some home truths.

Script of video:

On Saturday 15th February, 2025, US Vice-President, J D Vance, gave a twenty-minute speech to assembled European dignitaries at the Munich Security Conference.

Of course the conference was already ablaze with outrage that President Donald Trump had called Russia’s President Putin and started negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine.

Euro-leaders shut down dissent

US Vice-President J D Vance tells Europe's self-satisfied elite some home truths.
US Vice-President J D Vance tells Europe’s self-satisfied elite some home truths.

But J D Vance did not concentrate on that. He hardly mentioned it. His focus was to denounce his audience for shutting down domestic dissent, and to ask them what values they were defending.

For the BBC’s Security Correspondent Frank Gardner it was ‘a blistering attack decrying misinformation, disinformation, and the rights of free speech.’ He meant ‘upholding the rights of free speech’. I think Frank had lost his composure a bit.

He described the JDV speech as ‘a very weird 20 minutes – one met largely with silence from delegates in the hall.’ Indeed it was. Not just did the ‘speech go down very badly – unequivocally badly’, But ‘It was extraordinarily poorly judged,’ according to the affronted man from the BBC.

However, for Brendan O’Neill for Spiked Online, it ‘was a joy to watch’, ‘a delicious spectacle’, seeing ‘A Yank from dirt-poor origins sticking it to Europe’s turbo-smug ruling class’.

The video is up on the White House YouTube channel, so we can all decide for ourselves.

J D Vance ‘does God’

Tony Blair (L) & Alastair Campbell
Tony Blair (L) & Alastair Campbell

I’ve taken out some things you might find informative, even scriptural, from it. Well, it’s no secret that the new US administration ‘does God’, just as Tony Blair’s, according to his spin doctor Alistair Campbell, did not.

Nor, for that matter, do our present crop of UK politicians, even, I must venture, a great many who profess Christ. By ‘Do God’ I mean acknowledge that Jesus, the King of kings, is sovereign in the national affairs of men. Above all, to see faith in the Lord of life as more than a mere personal matter.

This may be a longer video than we normally post, but we’ll be going behind the scenes and drawing encouragement for those who pray and for those who recognise that there is indeed a spiritual dimension to our life here on earth. Sign our ‘Doing God’ petition:

Civil ruler to do good to us

It did not take long for the Vice-President to remind, in his own words:
‘all of us who have been fortunate enough to be given political power by our respective peoples, to use it wisely—to improve their lives.’

That is scriptural. Remember from the book of Romans, where the Apostle Paul is discussing the civil ruler? He writes:
Rom 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good.

Rulers, according to the Bible, are not there to impoverish their people, as the climate fanatics seem to think, but to create an environment in which we can prosper.

Threat from within

EU Leaders need to repent.
EU Leaders need to repent.

Bearing in mind this was a security conference, Mr Vance went on:
‘the threat that I worry most about for Europe is not Russia. It’s not China. It’s not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within—the retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values, values that are shared with the United States of America.

‘I was struck that a former European commissioner went on television recently and sounded delighted that the Romanian government had just annulled an entire election. He warned that if things don’t go to plan, the very same thing could happen in Germany too.’

It was the Romanian constitutional court, as it happens, but Mr Vance regards the courts, correctly, you might say, as an arm of government.

Defence of Democracy

Mr Vance went on to point out that today:
‘Everything—from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship—is billed as a defence of democracy.’

Well even in the US, some claimed to be ‘defending democracy’ by trying to use the courts to stop Donald Trump from contesting the presidential elections.

And when the European elites use anti-democratic means to prevent the wrong people from participating in the democratic system, that too is ‘defending democracy’.
Because ‘Defending Democracy’ actually means, ‘Keeping us in power’.

The V-P reminded those present about the Cold War:
‘Consider the side in that fight that censored dissidents, closed churches, and canceled elections. Were they the good guys? Certainly not.’

’Shut down Social Media’

He went on to draw uncomfortable parallels between the old Soviet Union and today’s European leaders:
‘I look to Brussels, where EU commissars warn citizens that they intend to shut down social media during times of civil unrest, the moment they spot what they’ve judged to be “hateful content.”

‘Or to this very country (Germany), where police have carried out raids against citizens suspected of posting anti-feminist comments online, as part of “Combating Misogyny on the Internet: A Day of Action.”

‘I look to Sweden, where two weeks ago, the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in Quran burnings that resulted in his friend’s murder.’

The penalty imposed on Salwan Najem was a fine. His friend, Salwan Momika, was murdered by Muslim vigilantes just weeks previously. Either way, in Sweden, burning the Koran means consequences. Swedish judges have imposed an Islamic blasphemy law.

’Tolerant Country’

Stephen Green on 6th February 2023 outside Marie Stopes abortion facility in Mattock Lane, Ealing.
Stephen Green was convicted for standing outside Marie Stopes abortion facility in Ealing on 6th February 2023 .

As they have done in the United Kingdom, where one Martin Frost has now been convicted after a similar activity in Manchester.

‘This is a tolerant country, but we just do not tolerate this behaviour,’ said Judge Margaret McCormack in that case, apparently with a straight face.

And indeed, it was to the UK where J D Vance next turned his attention:
‘And perhaps most concerningly, I look to our very dear friends, the United Kingdom, where the backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious Britain in the crosshairs. A little over two years ago, the British government charged Adam Smith-Connor, a 51-year-old physiotherapist and army veteran, with the heinous crime of standing 50 meters from an abortion clinic and silently praying for three minutes.

‘Not obstructing anyone. Not interacting with anyone. Just silently praying on his own. … Adam was found guilty of breaking the government’s new “buffer zone” law, which criminalizes silent prayer and other actions that could influence a person’s decision within 200 meters of an abortion facility.’

Stop Abortion Buffer Zones →

Thousands of Pounds in Legal Costs

I too have been convicted of a buffer zone offence, for standing outside an abortion facility displaying a Bible verse. Neither obstructing nor interacting with anyone, just like Adam. And just like him, I have been, as J D Vance put it:
‘… sentenced to pay thousands of pounds in legal costs to the prosecution.’

Support NCCSS / Christian Voice

Mr Vance went on:
‘In Britain and across Europe, free speech, I fear, is in retreat.’

As he was speaking, hundreds were being charged here with online ‘speech crimes’ under what was described as an ‘Orwellian’ crackdown.

Mr Vance went on:
‘To many of us on the other side of the Atlantic, it looks more and more like old, entrenched interests hiding behind ugly, Soviet-era words like misinformation and disinformation, who simply don’t like the idea that somebody with an alternative viewpoint might express a different opinion, or, God forbid, vote a different way—or even worse, win an election.’

He went on to ask what is their vision:
‘I’ve heard a lot about what you need to defend yourselves from, and of course, that’s important.
‘But what has seemed a little bit less clear to me, and certainly, I think, to many of the citizens of Europe, is what exactly it is that you’re defending yourselves for. What is the positive vision that animates this shared security compact that we all believe is so important?’

Keep themselves in power

It’s a good question. And I think the answer is their vision lies in keeping themselves in office, whilst advancing today’s secularist sacred cows, things which stupidly attack the Christian faith upon which their entire civilisation is built, ideas like sodomy, abortion, depravity, divorce and family breakdown, multiculturalism.

I think the new US administration even sees the European elite’s climate fanaticism as an example of what amounts to a cultural death wish. Sign our Petition:

Reject Net Zero policies

As for multiculturalism being part of their death wish, how else, except from a spiritual perspective, do you explain their policy of opening the doors to Muslims, whose religion has supplanting the Christian foundation of their target societies with Islamism as an article of faith?

’nothing more urgent than mass migration’

Wreath laid after terror attack in France
Wreath laid after terror attack in France

The Vice-President certainly sees it like that:
‘I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration. Today, almost one in five people living in this country moved here from abroad. … The number of immigrants who entered the EU from non-EU countries doubled between 2021 and 2022 alone. And, of course, it’s gotten much higher since. And we know—the situation didn’t materialize in a vacuum.

‘It’s the result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent, and others across the world, over the span of a decade. We saw the horrors wrought by these decisions yesterday, in this very city. And, of course, I can’t bring it up again without thinking about the terrible victims—who had a beautiful winter day in Munich ruined.’

‘An asylum seeker, often a young man in his mid-20s, already known to police, rams a car into a crowd and shatters a community.’

As Vice-President Vance was speaking, a 23-year-old Syrian asylum seeker murdered a 14-year-old boy and wounded five others in an Islamist knife attack in Austria.

What did we vote for?

‘No voter on this continent went to the ballot box to open the floodgates to millions of unvetted immigrants.’

‘But you know what they did vote for? In England, they voted for Brexit. And, agree or disagree, they voted for it. And more and more, all over Europe, they’re voting for political leaders who promise to put an end to out-of-control migration. …

‘I just think that people care about their homes. They care about their dreams. They care about their safety and their capacity to provide for themselves and their children.’

Going further, he took aim at the elitist World Economic Forum, where King Charles has hob-nobbed with Klaus Schwab, Prince William launched his Earthshot Prize, where Justin Trudeau, Jacinda Ardern and the current secretary general of NATO, former Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte, emerged from the Young Global Leaders programme, and where ordinary people are envisaged as owning nothing and being happy:

‘Contrary to what you might hear a couple mountains over in Davos, the citizens of all of our nations don’t generally think of themselves as educated animals or as interchangeable cogs of a global economy.’

’Sacred Principle’

Moses. brings the Ten Commandments for the people to ratify
Moses. brings the Ten Commandments for the people to ratify

It might have come as a shock to those assembled, and to some of our judges, but the US Vice-President regards the thoughts and concerns of ordinary people as valid and worthy of consideration.
‘Democracy rests on the sacred principle that the voice of the people matters. There’s no room for firewalls. You either uphold the principle, or you don’t. Europeans—the people—have a voice.’

The ‘firewalls’ refers to the German elite ostracising the elected members of the AfD, of course. But does democracy rest on a ‘sacred principle’? I think it does. The people have to give their assent to those who rule.

When Moses brought the words of the Covenant given by the Almighty down from Mount Sinai, we read it was essential that it was ratified by the people. Three times in the book of Exodus, in chapter nineteen and twice in chapter twenty-four, we read of the democratic assent of the people, culminating in this:

Exod 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

Fear not

J D Vance finished by quoting the late Pope John Paul II, a prominent supporter of democracy in his native Poland, who once said:
‘“Do not be afraid.”

‘We shouldn’t be afraid of our people, even when they express views that disagree with their leadership.’

It was the Lord Jesus who said ‘Fear not’ first, many times, but it is a constant theme in scripture and it depends on faith and love of God:
1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:

But actually, the arrogant European elites do have reason to fear their people. They know that the people have had enough of them. They are afraid of losing their positions in elections.

There is one higher than they

They will most likely ignore the witness of Mr Vance, and carry on just the same. Yet scripture says, in Ecclesiastes:

Eccl 5:8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

Do not be afraid of them, because we have sure promises from the Lord on high. Here is his attitude towards those who deny the rule of King Jesus, from Psalm two and verse four:
Psalm 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

How do we know that the arrogant will fall? From, for example, Psalm seventy-six:
Psalm 76:12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

From Mary’s Magnificat in Luke chapter one:
Luke 1:51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
Luke 1:52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

Which itself is based solidly on the whole witness of scripture, for example, here in psalm one hundred and forty-seven:
Psalm 147:6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

’Turbo-smug ruling class’

And that is why the speech of the humble boy from ‘dirt-poor origins’ went down so ‘unequivocally badly’ with ‘Europe’s turbo-smug ruling class’.

Church covers communion table with ‘divisive progressive flag’ against canon law

Sunderland Minster
Sunderland Minster

Sunderland Minster has re-ignited controversy over the direction of the Anglican communion by covering its communion table with a  divisive trans flag. This violation of canon law is also a corruption of Christian worship.

The Communion table, intended to remind worshippers of the Lord’s supper, was draped with a flag representing an ideology that conflicts with biblical teaching. Such an act of defiance against church law highlights the growing influence of the sort of secular ideologies within the Church of England which have impaired its communion with sister churches in the developing world.

The ‘Progress Pride flag’ is an innovation of the homosexual six-colour ‘Rainbow’ flag incorporating additional colours intended to symbolise ‘transgender, intersex, and racial diversity.’ It is now widely associated with triumphalist ‘woke’ ideology.

Brendan O’Neill at Spiked Online wrote, ‘It might not be the flag of a conquering foreign army, but it is the flag of a conquering elite’.

Divisive flag ‘not a Christian emblem’

The Church of England’s own courts have ruled that the flag is not a Christian emblem and should not be used. Yet Rev. Jacqui Tyson ignored this ruling and proudly displayed it on the Communion table in Sunderland Minster’s Bede Chapel.

Her decision in the face of the Canon Law ruling directly contradicts the biblical commandment to honour God alone and not to serve the idols of the world.

Exodus 20:3: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Ms Tyson defended her move by declaring it meant the church is ‘open to all,’ but that is obviously not true. Displaying the flag is a secularist political statement. Sign our petition:

Stop Transgenderism Now!

A distortion of true inclusion

The defence of this unbiblical act was framed under the guise of inclusion. However, as theologian Rev. Dr. Ian Paul has pointed out, the claimed inclusivity is actually exclusionary. It alienates Christians who uphold biblical teachings on gender and sexuality. By imposing the Progress Pride flag on worshippers, the church sends a message that those who do not embrace gender ideology are unwelcome.

The true nature of inclusion, according to Scripture, is found in Christ, who invites all to come to Him in repentance and faith. The Communion table itself is already the greatest symbol of inclusivity, as it represents Christ’s sacrifice for all people regardless of background. To suggest that it needs additional adornments to be welcoming distorts its divine meaning and purpose.

The Bible warns of a time when churches will abandon sound doctrine to please the world:
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.

When church leaders forsake biblical teachings in favour of human ideologies, they betray their duty as stewards of God’s Word.

Violating canon law and biblical commands

The Church of England has rules regarding what can be placed on the Communion table. Canon law mandates it should only be covered with a white cloth of silk or another suitable material. The ruling (above) from the Diocese of Leicester in 2024 reaffirmed that the ‘Progress Pride’ flag does not meet these standards.

The decision to drape the flag is not a minor infraction, it is a direct challenge to the church’s own governing laws. If the established church disregards these regulations in favour of contemporary political trends, what other essential doctrines will be compromised next? The erosion of church discipline leads to the dilution of faith, which ultimately weakens the body of Christ.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Nor is display of the flag an act of love. True Christian love means guiding people toward truth, not affirming them in confusion. Jesus never compromised on truth for the sake of cultural acceptance, and neither should His followers.

Romans 12:2: Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

A call to return to biblical truth

In these times of cultural confusion, the Christian Church must remain steadfast in biblical truth:

John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Believers must hold church leaders accountable and call them back to the Christian faith. The Scriptures provide clear guidance on how we should live, worship, and uphold God’s commands. It is time for churches to reject worldly influences and return to the unwavering truth of God’s Word.

The scandal at Sunderland Minster is more than just a debate about a flag—it is a battle for the soul of the church in our land. The Anglican Communion is already divided, with the woke West preferring compromise over homosexuality to unity with the global South.

Will it return to the foundation of Christ, or continue to compromise with secularism?

The answer could determine not just the future of Christianity in our land, but our survival as a constitutionally Christian nation with all our historic freedoms and blessings.

No, Angela, Prince Andrew is not a ‘nonce’

4

According to a new book on the Labour Party, Angela Rayner described the Duke of York as a “nonce” as she lobbied for him to be stripped of his official duties after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Angela Rayner
Angela Rayner

A “nonce” is a colloquial term for a paedophile. Some believe the word is an acronym of “Not On Normal Courtyard Exercise”, supposedly displayed on the doors of prisoners who should be kept away from other inmates for their own safety. Convicts, just like some of us, are keen to have those they can look down
upon.

But does the Duke of York fit into that category, as the Angela contends?

Virginia Roberts Giuffre

She was referring, of course, to alleged encounters between the Prince and one Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claims to have had intimate relations with him three times when she was seventeen. She sent a text to a friend boasting about
it.

Carolyn Andriano says: “I asked her if she’d been to the palace. And she said ‘I got to sleep with him’. She didn’t seem upset about it. She thought it was pretty cool.”

Virginia Giuffre was actually a prostitute, and according to the sister of her former boyfriend, she also recruited other girls for Jeffrey Epstein. She was no innocent party. Now seventeen might be under-age in a handful of US states, but most set the age of consent at sixteen. It is sixteen in the United Kingdom.

Support Christian Voice →

Age or State of consent?

The Bible, interestingly, does not specify an age of consent, only a state of consent, which is holy matrimony. The Statute of Westminster first brought in the concept of an age of consent in these islands in twelve seventy-five. It stood at twelve years of age, more or less, until eighteen eighty-five, when it was raised to sixteen.

If Prince Andrew did sleep with Ms Giuffre, which he denies, then he was a fornicator, a whoremonger, and a fool.

Although to flee fornication, as the Bible commands, when an attractive young woman is throwing herself at you, needs not just the Christian faith, but the grace of God as well. You might not see evidence of either in the Duke of York. But he was not a paedophile. He was not a ‘nonce’, as the Rayner insult would have it. Watch the video here:

Arrogant, insensitive, but a war hero

I am not hoisting a flag for the Duke of York. The reports, even from his own late father, cast him as an arrogant, insensitive man who looks down on ordinary people.

The Royal family were once watching Coronation Street. ‘Oh God, look at all those common people,’Andrew shouted. Prince Philip gave him a rocket. ‘If it wasn’t for people like that,’ he said, ‘you would not be sitting here.’

He was less than convincing, or even empathetic, in his ill-advised Emily Maitlis interview.

On the other hand, he is a war hero, who bobbed up and down in a helicopter being a lure for Exocet missiles during the Falklands War.

What does the Bible say?

Politicians, leaders, are supposed, according to the Bible’s specification in Exodus 18 and verse 21, to be ‘able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness’.

Did you spot that: able, humble ‘men of truth’. Not arrogant, but not slanderers or attention seekers either.

The Bible says:
Lev 19:16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people

Maybe the Angela likes to have someone she can look down upon, just like those lags in jail. But I just don’t see scripture saying that is a qualification for high office, do you?

Lessons for the UK: Gender Clarity from Trump’s Leadership

Donald Trump giving his speech.
Donald Trump giving his speech.
Donald Trump giving his speech.
Donald Trump giving his speech.

President Donald Trump has declared that America recognises only two genders—male and female. This bold proclamation is not only a reaffirmation of biological truth but also a stance rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Bible.

The Bible says,
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

This verse underscores the divine intentionality in the creation of humanity as two distinct yet complementary genders.

The UK government can draw lessons from Trump’s courage to uphold basic truths in a time when confusion about gender identity is widespread. Policies that drift away from biological and biblical truth risk eroding societal stability and family values.

Proverbs 22:28 warns, Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set,  reminding us of the importance of preserving foundational principles.

Trump’s statement also challenges leaders to rise above cultural pressures. The UK must consider the importance of creating policies that align with both science and scripture, affirming the dignity and purpose of God’s creation.

Support Christian Voice →

Protecting children from ideological confusion

President Trump’s stance on gender reflects a commitment to protecting future generations from ideological confusion. In today’s world, children are increasingly exposed to ideas that challenge their understanding of identity.

Matthew 18:6 states, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” This severe warning highlights the responsibility of leaders to shield children from harmful influences.

The UK government should take note of the American approach, which prioritises clear and consistent messaging about gender in schools and public policies. By affirming traditional gender roles, leaders can create an environment where children grow up with a clear sense of identity and purpose.

Furthermore, safeguarding children involves resisting policies that promote confusion under the guise of inclusivity. Upholding biological and biblical truths about gender ensures that the next generation grows up rooted in clarity and confidence.

Restoring family values through policy

Donald Trump takes the Presidential Oath
Donald Trump takes the Presidential Oath

President Trump’s proclamation aligns with a broader call to restore and uphold family values. Ephesians 5:31 reminds us, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.” This vision of marriage and family is built on the distinct roles of male and female, working together to reflect God’s design.

The UK’s policies should prioritise strengthening families by embracing the natural and biblical distinctions between genders. When family units are weakened by confusion about identity, society suffers as a whole. Clear policies rooted in truth can provide a firm foundation for stronger families and communities.

Mr. Trump’s leadership highlights the role of government in supporting families through policies that align with biblical principles. By doing so, the UK can foster a culture of stability, growth, and moral clarity.

Courage in leadership

President Donald Trump’s bold stance required courage in the face of intense cultural opposition. Isaiah 41:10 declares, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Leaders are called to stand firm in truth, even when it is unpopular or controversial.

The UK government must exhibit similar bravery by promoting policies that affirm biological and biblical truths. In a society where moral relativism is prevalent, courageous leadership can guide the nation back to foundational principles. By standing firm, leaders can inspire confidence and unity among the people they serve.

The US president’s example reminds us that true leadership is not about pandering to cultural trends but about upholding eternal truths that benefit society as a whole.

A call to action for the UK

The UK government has an opportunity to learn from President Trump’s example by adopting policies that honour biblical and biological truths.
Psalm 33:12 declares, Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord

Nations that align their policies with God’s principles are more likely to experience blessings in terms of peace, prosperity, and moral clarity.

The UK must act decisively to restore clarity and truth in its policies on gender and identity. This involves revisiting laws and educational guidelines to ensure they reflect both scientific reality and biblical teachings. Leaders must recognise that societal stability is closely linked to adhering to the principles outlined in scripture.

President Trump’s leadership provides a blueprint for the UK to reclaim its moral foundation. By embracing truth, protecting children, and restoring family values, the UK can chart a path toward a stronger, more unified future. Let this be a rallying cry for leaders to act boldly and wisely, guided by the timeless truths of God’s Word.

Donald Trump – the Spiritual Dimension

Watching the inauguration of Donald Trump last night on TV in Kampala, Uganda, I could not help but be struck by how much the US ‘does God’ compared to the UK.

According to Al-Jazeera (!) the programme began with the President-elect attending the customary service at the nearby St John’s Episcopal Church.

Muslim pulled from programme

Before the 47th President and his Vice-President were sworn in, we saw an Invocation by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, and another from the Reverend Franklin Graham.

After President Trump’s speech, there was a Benediction first from Yeshiva University’s President Ari Berman, Senior Pastor Lorenzo Sewell of 180 Church Detroit and the Reverend Frank Mann of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn.

The programme (see the Al-Jazeera link above) had included a benediction from Imam Husham Al-Husainy of the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center. But Religion News reported the Muslim leader was pulled after Jewish groups pointed out his support for Hezbollah. He is, after all, a Muslim, and hatred of Jews is, as we have pointed out beforenot least in this video on Israel and Hamas, written into their religion.

The Spiritual Dimension

Pastor Lorenzo Sewell gives his benediction. Worth watching!
Pastor Lorenzo Sewell gives his benediction. Worth watching!

The Spiritual Dimension of including the Rabbi and excluding the Mohammedan is massive. It was a spiritual mis-step to invite the imam in the first place.

But we also note the inclusion of two Roman Catholic bishops and two Pentecostals (Lorenzo Sewell’s barnstorming benediction is well worth watching) but no-one from the Anglican Episcopal Church. That sent a message that liberal theology is not welcome in the court of President Trump.

Indeed, the Donald’s insistence in his own speech (read the transcript here) that ‘there are only two genders: male and female’, drew cheers from those watching both outside in the Washington cold and here in Kampala.

Trump Speech ‘did God’

Donald Trump giving his speech.
Donald Trump giving his speech.

It was Tony Blair’s spin-doctor, Alastair Campbell, who said that administration did not ‘Do God’. In truth, no political party nor any leader of one in the UK Parliament, except for the DUP, either does God or grasps the spiritual dimension of life in general or public life in particular. We call and pray for them to humble themselves and acknowledge the King of kings.

But the United States does God, in its moments of grief, when leaders’ ‘thoughts and prayers’, not just their ‘thoughts’, are always with those affected, in its inauguration ceremonies and swearing-ins, and especially in the speech given by President Trump.

This did not just include the obligatory ‘God bless America.’ Mr Trump insisted: ‘We are one people, one family and one glorious nation under God.’ He promised ‘We will not forget our Constitution, and we will not forget our God.’ Above all, he declared his life ‘was saved by God to make America great again’.

First Executive Orders

On the BBC website, their North America correspondent, Anthony Zurcher, reports that Donald Trump’s executive orders have already pulled the USA out of the World Health Organisation and the Paris Climate Accord. He will end the promotion of electric vehicles and ‘Drill, Baby, drill’.

In a record number of executive orders, he has ended ‘work from home’ for federal workers and repealed previous executive orders promoting diversity programs and LGBTQ equality. He is certain to reinstate the ‘Mexico City policy’, defunding IPPF and other promoters of abortion.

President Trump has pardoned 1,500 6th January 2021 demonstrators. In his speech he promised to ‘reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the Covid vaccine mandate with full backpay. And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty’.

Celebrations across Africa, Asia and the Caribbean

J D Vance takes the Vice-Presidential Oath
J D Vance takes the Vice-Presidential Oath

Across the developing world, pro-life and pro-family activists have been celebrating. Donald Trump might not stop the flow of the promotion of evil from the West, from the EU, UK, Ireland and Skandinavia, but now there will at least be a counterbalance.

USAID, which was promoting wickedness under Joe Biden, is now under new management. All over the world, there will be new US Ambassadors. And if Donald Trump is followed by a two-term J D Vance, who knows?

Let us not forget, in his first term, it was the US Ambassador to Kenya who organised ten other countries to stand with him in condemning the pro-abortion agenda of the UNFPA and asserting there is no human right to abortion (or sodomy for that matter) in any internationsl human rights instrument. Read about that here. If Hilary Clinton had been elected in 2016 for the 2017-2020 term, that would not have happened.

A need for prayer

Much of what Donald Trump is doing and will do is a direct challenge to EU and especially to UK anti-biblical ‘wokeness’. He stands for freedom of speech and is horrified by the sort of ‘two-tier justice’ we saw after the Southport demonstrations.

President Trump, like every leader of every nation on earth, needs prayer for humility before the King of kings and wisdom. The Bible says:
Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

He also needs prayer for protection physically, emotionally and spiritually. The enemy will be out to thwart and block him from enacting anything righteous that might bless his nation and bring prosperity and the Kingdom of God. As it is written:
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This morning Judy and I travelled the 300 miles by train from Mombasa to Nairobi. (That’s the same as London to Ashington.) The train took six hours, but I could work on my laptop, at least in first class where we were. In case you think that was uber-posh, the fare was Ksh 4,500 each, that’s £28.50, less than London to Oxford standard class UK.

Swallows were hunting insects outside. It will be a couple of months before they think about migrating north to breed. People were growing sisal and maize, while the Masai were herding their goats, sheep and cattle along the way. There was not a deciduous tree in sight. The Equator passes through Kenya. Twice a year the noon-day sun passes directly overhead. This is the heart of the tropics.

Western money comes with strings

You would not believe how much money is flooding in from Western governments and foundations to local NGOs in Kenya for advocating and promoting Western evil. There is not a single one of those NGOs which is locally funded. Every single pro-LGBT, pro-CSE, pro-abortion, pro-‘green’ NGO in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean is funded from the West. There is of course little transparency over the funding.

On multiculturalism, at present big news in the UK, to say the least, at the coast (Mombasa) there is an uneasy tension. Muslims form around 41% of the population, but, as you might expect from the UK experience, they dominate political positions.

The Muslims are only kept in check by the forthright spirit-filled attitude of the bishops, pastors and born-again politicians, and the fact that Kenyan Christians heed the Bible’s command to ‘go forth and multiply’. The Muslims cannot outbreed us here!

God willing, we shall move to Uganda next week (20th to 24th Jan). Our local Uganda team, all volunteers, will be arranging TV & Radio, and we are waiting on the Lord for a meeting with MPs,

We’ll have similar intentions as with Kenya. In part because of the 1885/86 martyrs, when the king of Buganda executed 45 newly-converted Christian young men for refusing his sexual demands, Ugandans are even more firmly opposed to sodomy than Kenyans. Gay marriage? LGBT rights? Don’t even get them started. They see the spiritual dimension.

Finally, returning to Kenya, we have a conference arranged in Sondu, Kisumu/Kericho Co., for 25th/26th. Sondu is 300 miles from Nairobi in the opposite direction from Mombasa.

(Kenya is a big country. It enjoys more than twice the area of the UK [224,081 vs 94,354 sq miles], with a somewhat smaller population. Uganda is slightly smaller [93,264 sq miles] than the UK, with a smaller population than Kenya.)

The UK is a nation which needs repentance from its evils, a nation in whose midst are those worshiping a foreign god who are systematically as would an invading army, who are even tolerated and protected by its ruling class, whose leaders refuse to repent and return to the Living God, instead, exporting and promoting their death-wish abroad.

Opposing UK-sponsored evil in Africa

I’m flying out to Kenya tonight for a month-long mission. African nations face many challenges. Among them are Western pressures to adopt our leaders’ apparent ‘death-wish’ of immoral social policies coupled with climate obsession.

It was in 2009 I became aware of the pressures Western nations are bringing on developing nations to do what the UK has done and legalise all the things God hates. Prov 14:34b … but sin is a reproach to any people.

African pro-sodomy NGO’s all foreign-funded

I ‘followed the money’ from Western governments and foundations financing local NGOs promoting homosexuality, abortion and sex education.

It transpired there was not a single local NGO in the developing world promoting any of it which was locally funded. Every single one relied on Western money.

The UK’s involvement in this corruption, targeted at youth in particular, shames us all. Conservative Leadership: What’s next for Kemi?

0
Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP

06/09/2022. London, United Kingdom. Official Cabinet Portrait; Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade – Kemi Badenoch MP poses for a photograph in 10 Downing Street. Picture by Simon Dawson / No 10 Downing Street

Kemi Badenoch has emerged victorious in the Conservative leadership election, securing her place as the new head of the party.

Known for her strong stance on safeguarding women’s spaces, limiting children’s exposure to age-inappropriate content without parental consent, and critically addressing policies around ‘transgender’ issues, Ms. Badenoch’s track record has sparked both support and criticism.

As she steps into her new role, will she follow through on these principles.

History of defending women’s spaces

Kemi Badenoch has long advocated for the protection of women’s single-sex spaces, a stance that resonates with conservative supporters who are concerned about maintaining separate facilities, like restrooms and shelters, for women.

She has argued that allowing individuals to self-identify into these spaces can undermine women’s rights and safety.

In her new position, she faces the opportunity to advance policies that preserve single-sex spaces in public facilities, schools, and other institutions.

Her track record suggests she may introduce regulations that provide clarity around who is eligible to enter these spaces, aligning with her belief in biological distinctions.

Ask us to come and speak at your church →

Parental consent and age-appropriate content in schools

Another focal point in Ms. Badenoch’s policy agenda has been her call for tighter control over educational content in schools. She has criticised the inclusion of inappropriate content for young children, particularly on topics related to ‘sexuality and gender identity’, without parental consent.

The Conservative leader has argued that parents should have more knowledge regarding what their children learn about sensitive topics, particularly in primary school settings.

The Bible says
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart…And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Scepticism toward gender identity policies

Kemi’s scepticism toward gender identity policies has been a defining feature of her public image. She has frequently questioned the speed at which certain gender-related policies have been implemented, particularly those that encourage social transitioning in young people without comprehensive assessments.

The 44-year-old has emphasised the need for caution, advocating that the welfare of children should be prioritised over political ideology. With control over national policy, she could review and potentially revise existing policies related to gender identity in schools, workplaces, and medical contexts to ensure they are grounded in what she considers practical and protective principles.

The Lord Jesus said:
Matt 9:12b They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

Petition: Stop Transgenderism Now!

Balancing ideological and practical concerns

As leader, she is now tasked with balancing her ideological views with the practicalities of governing a diverse country.

The challenge lies in translating her commitments into policies that uphold her principles without alienating segments of the population.

The question remains whether Ms. Badenoch will actively pursue the changes she has advocated for or if she will adopt a more tempered approach now that she holds the reins of leadership. Her past statements suggest a strong commitment to these issues, but as leader, she faces new pressures and responsibilities. Supporters hope to see tangible policy changes, particularly around women’s rights, parental consent in education, and gender identity policies.

Whether Badenoch can fulfill these expectations will ultimately shape her legacy as leader, setting the stage for how the Conservative Party approaches these complex social issues in the years to come.

Judicial corruption: Two-Tier Justice

Judicial Corruption: A Moral, Social, and Political Rot - Republic Policy
Judicial Corruption: A Moral, Social, and Political Rot – Republic Policy

Judicial corruption and inconsistent sentencing are under scrutiny in the UK.

It is becoming apparent that the British legal system is serving its own interests and those of the state rather than delivering justice for the public, as the biblical standard demands.

In the Bible, justice is about putting things right, but recent cases suggest that British courts are more focused on defending their own patch rather than protecting the rights and safety of citizens.

Turning a blind a eye

A glaring example of of the two-tier system disparity is seen in the way certain crimes, such as burglary and shoplifting, are handled. Despite the emotional and financial toll these offences take on victims, the government make reassuring noises but the police stand accused of turning a blind eye to them.

Policies have emerged suggesting that unless the value of what’s stolen is deemed significant, pursuing these cases is considered a waste of police time.  The police are also reluctant to chase after perpetrators who could be dangerous.

This approach has left many feeling vulnerable. Criminals face minimal consequences, and communities are left without the assurance that justice will be served.

The leniency in these cases stands in contrast to harsher sentences handed down for less direct threats to public safety.

Sentences for ‘rioters’

Following the murders of three little girls in Southport on 29th July 2024, demonstrations took place across England in the following month. It would appear that stories circulated on social media claiming the suspect was an illegal migrant. He wasn’t. He was of Rwandan descent and was born in Cardiff.

Some of the protests turned violent, with items thrown at the police. However, during one incident in Whitehall, it appears that angry protestors merely confronted the police with shoving and verbal abuse.

The case of one of them, David Spring, 61, of Sutton in South London, stands out. Mr Spring’s role in the disorder was shown on police body worn camera footage in court. He was seen making threatening and hostile gestures towards police, calling officers “c****” and joining in chants of “you’re not English anymore” and “who the f*** is Allah”.

The local paper reported that Judge Kelleher said a custodial sentence was appropriate ‘in order to deter others from engaging in similar behaviour’. David Spring was advised by barrister Piers Kiss-Wilson to plead guilty to violent disorder. He was sentenced to 18 months.

There was no report that we have seen associating Mr Spring with actual violence. In essence, he received 18 months for calling policemen part of the female anatomy, questioning  their patriotism and asking, in robust language, what jurisdiction has the god of the Muslims over this United Kingdom.

State protecting its dignity

Burglaries, shoplifting, knife crime, affect ordinary people. What the August protestors did was challenge the immigration policy of the State. So it appears we now have a legal system more interested in maintaining its own standing with expedited procedural efficiency than in administering justice for the people.

This inconsistency raises questions about the integrity of the judicial system and whether it is meeting its fundamental biblical role: to right wrongs and protect the public. Without a commitment to equitable justice, the trust in our institutions of law and order will continue to erode. Two-tier policing, two-tier justice and two-tier politics are stoking up resentment. The system is no longer serving those it is meant to protect.

The Bible says,
Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

The rise of shoplifting

The number of shoplifting offences recorded by police in England and Wales has risen to a new 20-year high. A total of 443,995 offences were logged by forces in the year to March 2024, up 30% on the 342,428 recorded in the previous 12 months.

The figure is the highest since current records began in the year to March 2003, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Meanwhile, one of the UK’s largest grocery chains has told a parliamentary inquiry that organised criminals are behind the recent rise in shoplifting and violence against shop workers rather than people stealing to survive,

Paul Gerrard, the public affairs director at the Co-op, told the House of Lords justice and home affairs committee into shoplifting that a 44% rise in retail crime it experienced last year was mostly down to gangs stealing to order at scale – clearing shelves in some cases.

The Bible says,
Job 11:14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

Huw Edwards

Former BBC presenter Huw Edwards facing charges of making indecent pictures of children – NewscastStudio

The case of Huw Edwards, coming at this time, also appeared to illustrate inconsistencies in the UK’s justice system.

Mr. Edwards, a former BBC presenter, was convicted of possessing 41 indecent images, including the most serious category, yet he received a suspended sentence, allowing him to avoid prison.

Nevertheless, legal commentators pointed to mitigating factors like his mental health and early guilty plea as well as the exact circumstances and the legal definitions  as reasons for the apparent lenient outcome. It is worth reading the judge’s sentencing remarks (and the discussion between John and Stephen in the comments below).

However, it remains that others have received much harsher penalties for far less serious offences. For example, Julie Sweeney from Cheshire was sentenced to 15 months in prison for making an offensive online comment.

This disparity again raises important questions about the justice system’s priorities, where serious offenses, and not just that of Mr Edwards, are met with leniency, while lesser actions lead to significant punishment.

The Bible says,
Zephaniah 3:5 The just Lord is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

Domestic abusers released from prison

Alex Chalk, former Justice Secretary.

Violent domestic abusers were among the offenders released from prison in Augusr  after serving just forty per cent of their sentences, in a bid to free up prison spaces for protestors.

In an interview with LBC, former Justice Secretary, Alex Chalk  accused ministers of not being ‘frank with the British people’ about what releasing people early from prison would mean.

Mr. Chalk stated that a man who committed common assault by ‘thumping’ his partner, or causing actual or grievous bodily harm, would be eligible for release under the scheme unless he had been sentenced to four years or more in prison.

He also warned that plans to release prisoners up to 20 per cent of the way through their sentences would be a ‘mockery of justice’ and ‘affront to rule of law.’

This applies to offenders who are under an electronic tagging scheme that allows them to spend up to six months under curfew in their homes that they would otherwise have spent in jail.

They are currently entitled to be released on tags as little as 25 per cent of the way through their sentences but, because of the early release scheme due to start on Sept 10, it has been recalculated down to 20 per cent.

The Bible says,
Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Release of Steven Ling

Steven Ling
Steven Ling

Among prisoners freed was Steven Ling, a convicted murderer.

Ling, now 49, was granted parole in July and has been released after serving 26 years of a life sentence. He was convicted in 1998 for the brutal Christmas Day murder of 29-year-old Joanne Tulip in 1997. Ling violated and stabbed Miss Tulip 60 times, in what the presiding judge described as a horrific act of violence. During his sentencing, the judge declared that Ling would remain in prison for as long as he posed a danger to women.

Despite these warnings, Ling is now a free man. His release, at a time when prison spaces are being prioritised for those involved in recent protests or social media controversies, has sparked outrage. We argue here that Steven Ling should have faced the death penalty:

The justice system’s priorities have shifted away from protecting the public, focusing instead on individuals whose offences lie more in speech than in violent crimes.

The release of such a one as Steven Ling underscores growing concerns about whether the safety of citizens is being compromised by a government intent on managing overcrowded prisons and responding to current political trends. Albeit that justice was never done for Joanne Tulip.

The Bible says,
Gen 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Police persecute ex-Muslim

The state is also keen to protect its ideas and ideology, not least that of multi-culturalism.  That helps explain what Tim Dieppe has described as the Metropolitan Police’s ‘outrageous persecution’ of Hatun Tash.

The ex-Muslim turned Christian preacher has been repeatedly arrested at the behest of her Muslim tormentors. She carries a Koran with holes in it, to illustrate its shaky provenance. Yet when Muslim activists at Speakers’ Corner stole it from her, the Police arrested her, not them.

With the assistance of the Christian Legal Centre, Hatun Tash has now been awarded not just one, but two payouts of £10,000 from the Met for unlawful arrest at Speakers’ Corner.

More serious crimes

A man wielding a hedge trimmer after an altercation at a petrol station.
A man chasing a couple with a hedge trimmer after an altercation at a petrol station.

The recent arrest of a man in Greater Manchester highlights the increasing neglect of public safety.

A viral video shows a Muslim couple being chased by a man wielding a hedge trimmer after an altercation at a petrol station.

The footage captures the man retrieving the tool from his vehicle and charging toward the couple’s car as they quickly fled.

This incident, while shocking, underscores the troubling trend where serious threats to citizens’ safety are deprioritised, as the system diverts its focus to less critical offences. Such cases reflect how the balance between protecting the public and catering to political or social agendas is becoming increasingly skewed.

Muslim given suspended sentence for assault

In Bradford, a Muslim man berated three Muslim women, whom he knew, at a petrol station for not wearing Islamic dress and for wearing make-up. He then violently attacked them, a court heard.

The local paper reported that Muhammad Hassan, 26, grabbed the driver and slammed her head on to the dashboard of her vehicle. He then grabbed the second woman’s hair and punched her in the head before hitting the third woman.

Judge Colin Burn said: “Whatever the motivation was for this, it’s still utterly inadequate to justify the violence that you perpetrated against [the victims] when they were sitting in a car effectively cowering from you.

“The three people on the receiving end of your violence were women who were in a vulnerable situation. This was an extremely abusive, controlling and violent incident.”

Given such a summing up, we should expect a custodial sentence. But no. Hassan, from Bradford, was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years. Compare that leniency to the sentences given to the Southport protestors.

Where is the duty of care?

As prisons in England and Wales near maximum capacity, the early release of inmates by Labour ‘to address the shortage of space’ is sparking concerns about the government’s duty of care.

There are concerns that without adequate measures to vet who is being released, the plan risks allowing violent offenders back into society prematurely. Questions are being raised about whether sufficient safeguards are in place to prevent potential harm, or if the focus is more on managing prison numbers than ensuring community safety.

Even more, there fear growing concerns that the Labour government may be prioritising freeing criminals over maintaining stringent protections, leading to heightened anxiety over public security.

This follows a stark warning from Charlie Taylor, the Chief Inspector of Prisons, who warned the ‘high risk of harm’ posed by the early release of violent criminals

He told the Telegraph that there was a danger former criminals may be let out to offend again.

‘The biggest risk would be a released offender slipping through the cracks” and going on to commit a serious crime because of rushed work.’

Tory Leadership: Do any of the candidates do God?

0
Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP
Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP

As the race for Tory leadership intensifies, a critical question remains largely unasked: Do any of the front runners truly understand or embody the spiritual and moral values that underpin leadership?

Robert Jenrick, Kemi Badenoch, Tom Tugendhat and James Cleverly may well present slightly different political visions, but where do they stand when it comes to matters of faith, morality, and doing what is right in the eyes of God?

The final two candidates will be presented to party members for the decisive vote. Among the rank and file, Kemi Badenoch is reportedly the favourite. However, according to The Telegraph, the public holds a slight preference for James Cleverly.

The Bible standard is that leaders should be:
Exod 18:21 … able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness.

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

RT. Hon. Robert Jenrick MP

So where do the Tory Candidates stand on today’s great moral issues? Do any of them even recognise a spiritual dimension to politics?

This isn’t about whether Robert Jenrick, Kemi Badenoch, James Cleverly, Tom Tugendhat, Mel Stride or Dame Priti Patel claim to be Christian, or go to church.

It’s about whether or not they have a God-fearing, Christian world-view. In other words, are they humble enough to recognise that’s Christ Jesus, as King and Lord of this United Kingdom?

The Bible says,
1Tim 6:15b the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords

RT. Hon. James Cleverly, MP

Do they give a thought to our Christian Constitution as expressed in His Majesty’s Coronation in May 2023? Do they regard the Almighty Creator and sovereign of the universe as our judge and lawgiver, the king, as the prophet says, who alone can save us, or do they think politicians can make it all up on their own?

We can get a clue from their voting record in the House of Commons.

Support Christian Voice →

Recording voting patterns

Christian Voice has been tracking voting patterns since 1988. Remarkably, 21 MPs who served during the Margaret Thatcher era remain in the House of Commons today.

The voting record shows that Robert Jenrick, the current front-runner, has demonstrated little regard for protecting human life. Among the six candidates, he was the only one to vote in favour of decriminalising abortion, supporting DIY abortion pills, and endorsing buffer zones around abortion facilities, which effectively criminalise pro-life activities, including prayer.

Moreover, none of his rivals took a stand against abortion on demand.

The prophet Jeremiah asked:
Lamentations 1:12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

Did any support prayer in Buffer Zones?

Kemi Badenoch was the only candidate to vote against DIY abortion, and only she and Mel Stride opposed the implementation of buffer zones around abortion centers. None of the candidates supported the freedom to pray outside these facilities—not a single one.

RT. Hon. Tom Tugendhat, MP

Moreover, none of them voted against the UK government’s imposition of same-sex marriage and abortion laws on Northern Ireland. In fact, Tom Tugendhat actually voted in favor of both measures.

When Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) was debated in 2019, all of the candidates voted to promote teachings on sodomy and transgender ideology, except for Robert Jenrick and Dame Priti Patel, who abstained rather than voting against it.

It’s worth noting that Dame Priti Patel, who became the first candidate eliminated by MPs during the voting rounds, was also the only one to sign MP Miriam Cates’s letter to then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in March 2023, expressing concerns about RSE.

She was also the only one to oppose the absurdity of the Net Zero Vehicle Mandate, forcing motor manufacturers to sell a set quota of those electric cars hardly any consumer actually wants, in December last year.

Ask us to come and speak at your church →

Truth versus absurdity

In the realm of truth versus absurdity, Kemi Badenoch, as Business Secretary, went so far as to claim that shutting down the Port Talbot steelworks was a positive move, rather than recognising it as a disastrous act of economic suicide and a blow to working men.

You may have noticed I haven’t mentioned James Cleverly—well, that’s because, aside from voting for immoral RSE, he has yet to take a definitive stand on anything. So, where do the candidates stand?

Robert Jenrick is staunchly pro-abortion. Tom Tugendhat is both pro-gay and pro-net zero, inviting divine judgement while delivering it in one stroke.

Kemi Badenoch is somewhat pro-life but supports RSE. Mel Stride leans slightly pro-life but is committed to net zero policies. Of the five (now four) who are left, Robert Jenrick is pro-abortion.

The prophet wrote:
Isaiah 59:7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood

The Bible, as you will remember, shows revival depends on the Lord raising up a God-fearing leader, someone like King Josiah.

The UK parliament

In the UK Parliament, neither Sir Keir Starmer nor Sir Ed Davey fits the bill. And despite his charisma and political savvy, Nigel Farage hasn’t yet shown the necessary depth either.

Unless one of them makes a bold and dramatic shift, it seems that none of the current Tory Party leadership contenders grasp the spiritual dimension of the challenges we face.

As the psalmist observed:
Psalm 75:7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

We must also seek the Lord’s guidance, just as King Jehoshaphat did (2Chron 20:12), to understand what action we should take. Perhaps the Lord is calling you to get involved with a rising party and become a prophetic voice within it.

Whatever the case, we invite you to sign our “Doing God” petition below and join us in praying for our leaders and standing for truth, as scripture calls us to do.

Australia abolishes womanhood

Roxanne Tickle sued the Giggle for Girls app and its CEO for alleged discrimination. (AAP: Bianca De Marchi)
Roxanne Tickle sued the Giggle for Girls app and its CEO for alleged discrimination. (AAP: Bianca De Marchi)

It’s not just the UK living in the Days of Lot.

An Australian judge has issued a ruling that effectively removes the legal distinction of sex, siding with a man who was barred from using a women-only app, the Australian Broadcasting Cooperation reports.

Justice Robert Bromwich declared that, under Australian law, sex is ‘fluid and not necessarily binary.’

The case, Tickle vs Giggle, began when Mr. Tickle—a disgruntled man who now goes by the name ‘Roxanne’ took offence at some social media posts.

Mr. Tickle has made significant efforts to ‘pass’ as female, undergoing ‘gender-affirmation surgery’ in 2019 and altering his birth certificate to obscure his male origins. Despite these changes, his biological sex remains male, though ‘legally’ he is recognised in Australian law as a woman. Watch our video:

Stop Transgenderism Now!

Screened out of women only app

The tweets that enraged Mr. Tickle were posted by Sall Grover, the founder of Giggle for Girls, a women-only social media app.

Giggle, a small tech start-up, used facial-recognition software to filter out men. Tickle decided to challenge this and was initially granted access to the app. However, after seven months, his photo was flagged, either by Grover herself or the app’s screening system and his access was restricted.

Mr. Tickle not only threw tantrums but bombarded Ms Grover with emails and phone calls. When that didn’t get him reinstated, he took her to court.

Mr. Tickle argued that he had the right to use Giggle because, on paper, he is legally recognised as a woman. The judge sided with him, stating that ‘the imposed condition of needing to appear to be a “cisgendered” female in photos submitted to the Giggle app had the effect of disadvantaging transgender women who did not meet that condition.’

See Justice Bromwich using the language of trans activists. ‘Cisgendered’ is their made-up word for real women. In the UK, in the Sutcliffe case, Mr Justice Pepperall also went full-on trans activist, as our video explains (Script of the video is linked at the top):

Ask us to come and speak at your church →

Legally female or really female?

On 23rd August 2024, Federal Court Justice Robert Bromwich stated: ‘the respondents had defined sex as the unchangeable sex assigned at birth.’

Although Justice Bromwich found Mr Tickle wasn’t subjected to direct discrimination, he upheld the claim of indirect discrimination because the Giggle for Girls app required the bloke to appear as a woman to use it.

In reading the ruling, it’s evident that Justice Bromwich recognises that men cannot become women, but he deemed biology irrelevant to the case.

Instead, he adhered to an administrative interpretation of sex and gender, stating that ‘Mr. Tickle is a legal female, as reflected in his updated birth certificate issued under Queensland law.’

Justice Bromwich ordered the app to pay him £5,100 in addition to costs.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tickle’s counsel, Georgina Costello KC argued that sex and gender are not binary and involve psychological and social dimensions, not just biological ones. On the other hand, Ms Grover’s lawyer, Bridie Nolan argued that sex is biological and gender was a social construct, disputing that Mr Tickle had the ‘psychology of a woman’.

Support Christian Voice →

Global implications of the ruling

The case, Tickle vs. Giggle, has established a troubling legal precedent with far-reaching implications. By prioritising an administrative definition of gender over biological realities, the ruling goes against Biblical laws, and challenges long-standing social norms.

Justice Bromwich’s decision could influence future cases worldwide, potentially eroding protections based on biological sex.

The Bible says,
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them

The Lord Jesus himself said:
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

(The ‘appearance’ here being Mr Tickle’s gender recognition certificate, not his face!)

The Left have no moral compass!

Now why does the irreligious left hate Israel and support jihadism with such a passion? How does their thinking spill over into abortion and the ‘gender wars’? We’ll answer all this during the next few minutes.

You’ll understand what passes for modern thinking in the media, universities and many political parties in today’s Western world. (By the way, if I accidentally say ‘the Left’ as a shorthand in what follows, I always mean the irreligious, godless or antichristian left.)

Spiritual Question

So firstly, why is there so much anti-Semitism among those who regard themselves as left-liberal and ‘progressive?

Deep down, it’s a spiritual question. It is the oldest hatred, after all. But how can the godless left ignore the 7th October atrocities? How can they justify murder and rape?

Here is the reason. And I am indebted to US columnist Dennis Prager for it.

Support Christian Voice →

No Moral Compass

In the Revelation to John, we read:
Rev 20:13b they were judged every man according to their works.

The antichristian left do not think like that. They do not have a moral compass with which to judge works and deeds. Instead, they have firstly a power compass, secondly a race compass, and thirdly a class, wealth or money compass.

If just one of those points north in your case, you are privileged. If they all point north you are an oppressor. If one points south, you are disadvantaged. If they all point south, you are oppressed.

There is also a sex compass and a sexuality compass, which we shall come to. In the Israel/Hamas discussion the first is irrelevant, the second actively ignored. It has to be and I’ll explain why later.

Power, Race and Money Compasses

Right then, take the power compass first. In the early days, Israel was small, at the mercy of its Arab neighbours. It was good and fashionable on the left, especially the Kibbutz system.

However, as Israel won wars and became strong, Israel became ‘bad’, and the Arabs became ‘good’, on the ‘power compass’.

Next, on the Race Compass, Jews are perceived as ‘white’ and Palestinians as ‘non-white’. Of course it’s not strictly true, but it doesn’t matter. It only needs to be how the left see it.

Now add the Money Compass. Jews are hard-working. They know the spiritual principles of success. They have grown rich.

In contrast, while there are some hard-working Palestinian people, and I have a particular affinity for the traditional soap-makers in Nablus or Shechem, graft, corruption, reliance on aid and oppression from the likes of Hamas and Fatah bring general poverty to the areas they oversee.

Oppressors vs Oppressed

But for the Left, that’s OK, because all three compasses point north for Israel and Jews and they all point south for the Holy land’s Arabs.

The Jews, the Israelis, Israel, are seen as Oppressors, while the ‘Palestinians’ are the ‘Oppressed’.

You must understand that it does not matter what either side in the Holy Land actually does.

You will find references in the Bible to the oppressed and to oppressors, but Jewish and Christian moral theology concerns itself overwhelmingly with what people do.

The Lord considers deeds

The Lord God asked Cain:
Gen 4:10, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Our Lord said:
Luke 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit.

The prophet Haggai can write:
Haggai 1:7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

And Jeremiah will report the Lord saying:
Jer 23:22b they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

Doings become irrelevant

London Pro-Hamas Demo
London Pro-Hamas Demo

But in the irreligious or even pro-Muslim leftist view, their ‘doings’ are irrelevant. It does not matter how much terror Islamic jihadists engage in against Israel and Jewish people.

The deliberate targeting of women and children does not register because, remember, the jihadists are the Oppressed and every Jew is an Oppressor.

Nothing which we might see as morally good which the members of an ‘Oppressor’ group do will excuse them. Nothing morally evil done by the ‘Oppressed’ will condemn them.

’Oppressed can do no wrong

The terrorists are ‘good’, no matter how many atrocities they carry out.

In contrast, if Israel bomb Hamas installations the amoral Left say are committing genocide. If the IDF advise people to leave areas used by Hamas for their own safety they are committing ethnic cleansing.

For the Left, ‘Oppressor’ Israel, strong, white and rich, can do nothing right. ‘Oppressed’ Hamas, weak, brown and poor, can do nothing wrong.

They know you have moral compass

Nevertheless, the irreligious Left and Hamas for that matter know that ordinary people have a moral compass. They know you have a moral compass and how it works, so they will use that against you and against those they have categorised as the Oppressors.

That is why some Islamists tried to say Hamas terrorists were being ‘kind’ to babies and comforting them. Or even denying they slaughtered anyone at all. They are trying to appeal to your moral compass.

As well as lacking a moral compass, the irreligious left also lack the capacity to think things through and to examine themselves. It would therefore be a mistake to look for logical thinking or self-awareness among them. Instead, there is an unashamed, essential denial of realities.

Sex and sexuality compasses

Pro-Transgender ‘Pride Flag’ painted on a walkway at NHS Princess Royal Hospital, Orpington, England.

Moving outside the Gaza war, you will be aware of the hierarchy of victimhood, in which the sex and sexuality compasses are added , putting white heterosexual men are at the bottom and black lesbians famously at the top.

But it’s even more complicated than that. Women are only weak and virtuous until they oppose ‘trans-women’. That is because transgenders are always weak and oppressed on the sexuality compass, even when they are men and obviously stronger and more aggressive than the real women they oppose.

The sexuality compass trumps the sex compass. Remember not to think logically if you are trying to follow this.

No reason, no logic, no sense

The Bible might well have said:
Isa 1:18a Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:

But reason cuts no ice here. Gays and lesbians are an oppressed group, but lesbians are not as oppressed as transgenders, so they may not complain when a man complete with male genitalia demands to be accepted as a ‘trans-lesbian’.

In the hierarchy of victimhood, if one group does not get along with another that does not matter to the Left either.

As I said earlier, compasses may by ignored if they are inconvenient. That’s why you will find ‘Gays for Palestine’ marching alongside people who would throw them off the nearest high building if they ever set foot in the Gaza Strip.

Just what is it in the womb?

A baby of eight weeks gestation, just a month younger than the typical age for abortion
Never ‘part of a woman’s body’. A baby of eight weeks gestation, just a month younger than the typical age for abortion

Just to wrap up a few loose ends, you might think unborn babies are weak, and their mothers are strong, so abortion would be wrong.

Not so. There is an antichristian, even satanic, ideology at stake here. So the left refuse to allow themselves to think of pre-born babies as human beings in the first place.

Their obvious weakness as tiny people can never come into consideration. They use Latin words or Latin-derived words like ‘uterus’, ‘foetus’, ‘termination’, instead of simple English, wherever they can.

George Orwell said: ‘A mass of Latin words falls upon the facts like soft snow, blurring the outlines and covering up all the details.’ The Left use language, not, as we do, to explain the truth, but to obscure it.

VAT on school fees?

Finally, in the UK general election, two of our political parties are saying it would be immoral to put VAT on private school fees. Education, they say, should be protected, from a simple moral standpoint.

The Bible stresses the value of teaching and learning and Christians have always been to the fore in setting up schools:
Lev 10:11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
Isa 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

The argument is met with blank stares from the party proposing it. They don’t have the moral compass which would allow them to understand it. They see those who can afford such fees as rich and privileged and beneath consideration.

Don’t argue with me using facts, reason and logic on that point either. You can park all those where you keep your moral compass. They are irrelevant to the left.

So, we have seen why the irreligious left hates Israel and supports jihadists. We have explained the ‘gender wars’ and the left’s thinking, so to speak, on abortion and private school fees.

All is not lost: Faith can prevail

All that remains is to remind ourselves that all is not lost. There is still hope.

God assured Elijah:
1Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

Elisha told his servant:
2Kings 6:16 Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

That might have been the angelic host, but this is after all a spiritual battle. There are more with us than we imagine, is the point.

The Lord told the Apostle Paul not to be afraid and to speak up for the same reason:
Acts 18:10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

PRAYER

LET’S PRAY: Confound the workers of iniquity, O Lord, and lift up and encourage your people to proclaim the truth. Give us discernment to see when a moral compass is absent and to confront lies and distortions. Convict them Lord, we pray, and grant them repentance and salvation.

Also, dear Lord, Open doors into the hearts of the seven thousand and the many people you still have in the city and bring them alongside us.

Above all, show us what we can do and then by your grace do the miraculous that only you can do. Amen.
