(Script of video below) With the tussle between the Reform UK and Restore Britain Parties out in the open at the Makerfield by-election, which one honours better our Christian heritage?

Is this just a spat between Reform’s Nigel Farage and ex-Reform Rupert Lowe, who started Restore Britain when he fell out with Nigel? Or has Mr Lowe grasped a true spiritual nettle? Let’s see.

‘Reverse Mass Immigration’

So Restore want to ‘End Political Islam’ and ‘Abolish Mass Postal Voting’. That needs doing. Reform say the same.

Restore have a policy section: ‘Reverse Mass Immigration’. On that page, under ‘Abolish the Asylum System’, Restore say: ‘Britain is a Christian nation and having an asylum system is a noble goal’. There’s no need to offer a hostage to fortune there.

The one does not follow from the other, except in simplistic leftist dogma. Grown-up theology on asylum is complicated. In any case we are talking more about migration, we might even say ‘invasion’, than ‘asylum’.

Where is Christianity?

I was surprised to find no mention of Christianity in Restore’s other sections, not even under ‘Restore Civil Liberties’ or ‘Restore a Pro-British Education System’. The latter failed to denounce antichristian LGBT propaganda in sex and relationships education.

The former had no mention of police arrests of Christian preachers. However, under ‘Restore Britain’s Social and Cultural Foundations’ we do find five mentions of ‘Christian’, all under teaching history in schools.

It claims: ‘British Christians now have a political party that represents their views and stands ready to act on them.’ Do we? I didn’t see it anywhere else to be honest.

They go on: ‘We are an historically Christian country, guided by Christian morality.’ Then there is some back-tracking: ‘A Restore Britain government would honour those moral traditions’, but ‘not for the purposes of religious instruction so much as historical literacy’ and ‘understanding our national story’.

Islamisation

The next section says Restore Britain would ban the burqa and the niqab, but only because they ‘are fundamentally un-British’ and ‘undignified’ (‘The dignity of women and girls must not be sacrificed on the altar of multiculturalism’), not because they are advertising an aggressive, competing, antisemitic, antichristian religious and political system.

‘A Restore Britain government’ we read, ‘would reverse the Islamisation of Britain’. Much could be said there, but strangely isn’t.

The policy moves straight on to ritual slaughter.

Ritual Slaughter

Restore would ban, they say, both ‘Halal and Kosher Slaughter’. They say: ‘Slitting an animal’s throat and letting it bleed to death in the most unimaginable pain is morally repugnant.’

Number 1: Scripture says: Prov 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. In the light of that, is Mr Lowe seriously saying the Jewish people have indulged in animal cruelty for millennia?

Number 2: Although the Halal Monitoring Committee maintains a no-stunning policy, the rival Halal Food Authority allows the use of electrical pre-slaughter stunning. So Restore have not done their homework.

They even claim: ‘If a British farmer treated an animal in this way, he would be prosecuted. There must be one rule for all, with no religious exemptions.’

I agree with one rule for all. That’s scriptural: Exodus 12:49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

But I am a farmer. And I can tell you slaughtering on the farm for public consumption is not allowed at all.

Antisemitism dialed up to eleven

So Number 3: Their policy would not eliminate Halal slaughter, but it would end Schechita, Jewish ritual slaughter.

Number 4: With all the antisemitism being heaped upon Britain’s Jews by the Islamo-left, (see our recent article Nakba vs Unite the Kingdom’) do they really need it dialed up to eleven from Restore Britain?

What Mr Lowe is missing is that halal slaughter is not an animal welfare issue. It’s a spiritual issue.

Halal slaughter is antichristian because of the Shahada (or ‘Tasmiyah’) chanted at the point of slaughter. Every animal slaughtered halal is sacrificed to Allah, the Muslim deity, in Christian Britain.

The rest of ‘the right’

OK. So what of the other two main parties of the political right? Reform say they also have ‘a desire to restore Britain’s Judeo-Christian heritage as a core pillar of British identity, culture, and national policy’.

And Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch also maintains that Britain is fundamentally a Christian nation, with laws, institutions, and values ‘deeply rooted in Christian heritage’. She wants this ‘cultural and moral foundation’ to ‘be actively promoted and protected’.

So there is not much to choose between them, in my humble opinion.

Assert our Christian constitution

What we are waiting for is the political leader prepared to assert our Christian constitution, exemplified in the coronation of King Charles in Westminster Abbey on 6th May 2023. For that matter, of every king and queen of this nation for over a thousand years.

It’s more than claiming the odd policy is ‘Christian’. It’s about authority, about returning to our nation’s Christian roots, about breaking out of the doomed secularist loop of the past sixty years.

If you see that as well, then join us in praying for God to raise up an able, humble, truthful, honest leader (Exod 18:21) who will proclaim Jesus Christ as King of kings over this United Kingdom. When one of them starts to do that, we’ll be cooking on gas.

Now we’ll have a coherent reason to ban the burqa and niqab, end sharia courts, clear halal meat out of schools and prisons, stop the Muslim invasion, and to invite any Muslim, or secularist, who dislikes our Christian heritage to relocate somewhere more amenable to them.

God longs to honour a godly leader

Will the Almighty grant Nigel, Richard, Kemi, or someone else entirely, the grace and courage to honour him in that way?

The word of God says clearly: 1Sam 2:30b … them that honour me I will honour,

When that leader stands up with that declaration, he, or she, can expect God to honour them, and grant them both spiritual authority and electoral success. And that would also be someone to unite around.
