The National Trust paid over the odds for Thorneythwaite Farm, separating it from its farmhouse, intending to send this good farmland ‘wild’. It’s destructive, it’s irresponsible. We intend to move a Resolution at this year’s AGM condemning ‘re-wilding’ and ‘re-wetting’.
Resolution for National Trust Annual General Meeting 2022
Re-wilding of National Trust Land
‘Be it resolved that this AGM deplores re-wilding or re-wetting of National Trust farmland, or acquisition of farmland for that purpose, especially at this time of food insecurity, and calls on the Trust to re-dedicate its farmland to farming.’
Supporting Statement:
‘There have been too many reports of the Trust buying farmland and promptly re-wilding it, or separating a farmhouse from its land and ‘wilding’ the land. At the 2021 AGM a Trust officer boasted of a re-wetting project. Even then the United Kingdom was said to be importing around half our food. Yet food imported from abroad and processed here, such as tea, counts as ‘UK food’. When that is taken into account, the UK is only some 20-25% food secure. The Russo-Ukraine war on top of the pandemic shipping crisis must serve as a warning about food insecurity and drive us to grow and raise as much of our own food as we can. Re-wilding and re-wetting may be fashionable environmental fads, but they are surely irresponsible. The National Trust should again encourage farming on its farm land.’
Any and every member of the National Trust who has been a member since January 2021 can and should sign the resolution. Download the pdf here: ResolutionsNT22A . Then print it off, sign it, print your name, address and postcode and your National Trust membership number. Then send it to: Christian Voice, Wernlwyd, Pen-y-bont, CARMARTHEN, SA33 6QN, by 25th May 2022. Or scan it and email it to info@ukcv.org We have a NT deadline to meet! Thank you!
Parallel Resolution
The Resolution comes with a parallel Resolution calling for the National Trust to stop participating in Gay Pride events. You can sign both or either. (The PDF above has the Re-wilding Resolution at the top instead of the Gay Pride one, as on the ‘No more Gay Pride’ post .)
The Trust was criticised in the press in 2016 HERE, HERE and HERE for buying up Thorneythwaite sheep farm in the Lake District in order to ‘rewild’ it. Elsewhere, according to Farmers Weekly the Trust’s tenant farmers have complained the Trust is putting what it thinks is ‘the environment’ above food production. It was Mike Innerdale, the Trust’s regional director for the north, who gave the presentation to the 2021 AGM in which he spoke of ‘wetting-up our farmland’ and a ‘drive to net zero’.

The ‘climate change’ industry, while posing with virtuous concern, is actually being used to undermine our rights to a free, prosperous and healthy family life. There are certainly reasons to be suspicious of the motives behind this all pervasive movement.
Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. (KJV)
Climate changes!
The climate has always changed as deep ice and tree ring records show and as abundant evidence from art and literature attest. During the Roman occupation of the first century grapes were grown in the north of England. By contrast, as reported by the BBC, on the Thames in the early nineteenth century revelers enjoyed a ‘frost fair’ for several days and the ice was so thick an elephant could be witnessed marching, “across the river alongside Blackfriars Bridge”.
Clearly, changes in extreme weather are a regular fact of history. We are, again, in the midst of a warm period similar to that enjoyed by the invading Romans and our native wine industry is reported to be making good business. That is as may be, but ordinary explanations for historic environmental change such as this offer no opportunity for exploitation. The morbid fear of imminent disaster generated by the ‘climate change’ cult and the freedom culling proposals offered to offset that fear are, on the other hand, an opportunist’s dream.
Imagine the means for control this movement, if conceded willingly, will afford the unscrupulous. Our freedoms will be all but abolished and draconian laws drafted and restrictions placed in terms of excessive taxation, freedom of movement, a carnivorous diet, market choice, energy consumption and of course the reduction or total denial of the right to reproduce. Such freedoms are already being eroded.
1 Timothy 4:3: Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (KJV)
Children: blight or blessing?
In a sane society that affirms life and understands its immeasurable value, children are understood, without question, to be a wonderful gift of God. But in the climate change cult, children are a blight and not a blessing. As a result social media is seeing a steady rise in ‘anti-natalist’ groups who favor gradual decline and eventual extinction over the hopeful prospect of building a family. In another ‘trending’ BBC article we read how people like Nancy, a vegan and animal rights enthusiast, are adopting this nihilistic and morbid view. She groans:
“I feel that it is selfish to have children at this time …the reality is that the children being born into the world are creating more destruction for the environment.”
This antichrist spirit would abolish the blessing of children on an altar of false virtue. There are many defenders of this unseemly view and fewer more influential than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In the latest edition of British Vogue magazine (in which Meghan is guest editor) Harry rather emphatically endorses this spirit on his exclamation, “two maximum!” when asked if there might be more children on the way after little Archibald. As quoted from British Vogue, Harry went on:
“But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed …and, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”
Private jets for Sussex royals.
Well perhaps we should, but will there be much of a ‘next generation’ to leave something better for if this insanity continues unabated? According to unverified ‘palace sources’ the Duke and Duchess are speculating adoption instead of a second child, perhaps to ‘save the planet’ and offset the production of carbon-heavy human beings. Meanwhile, as reported in the Daily Mail, the Royals appear undeterred by similar qualms over private jets while taking back-to-back holidays in Ibiza and Nice.
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (KJV)
Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (KJV)

A Hindu community was facing the slaughter of more animals today as an old bullock and a young water buffalo indicated positive from a bovine tuberculosis skin test.
The announcement by Welsh Assembly officials comes less than a month after Shambo, a bullock regarded as sacred by the Hindus at Skanda Vale Temple in Carmarthenshire, was forcibly removed and later reported to have displayed ‘lesions typical of bovine tuberculosis’ after being killed by lethal injection.
But the report of Shambo’s diagnosis was greeted with scepticism by a Christian prayer and lobby group.
Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:
‘Interestingly, the results of “further tests” which were supposed to be carried out to verify TB do not seem to have been made public to date. Even if the vets did come back with positive results, the suspicion must be that no autopsy on Shambo would ever be allowed to find him free of TB. The outcry would be too great for the “animal health” people to live with. The fact is, there is discretion in the Animal Health Act 1981 for an animal to be isolated and treated. Poor old Shambo was sacrificed to an animal health policy which is flawed and implacable.’
Keith Porteous Wood
But there was also scorn from Christian Voice for the atheist ‘National Secular Society’, which the BBC in particular appears to regard as the fount of all wisdom. Its director was quoted expressing his pleasure that Shambo had been put down. Keith Porteous Wood (sic), accused the Skanda Vale protestors of ‘putting religious dogma before the welfare of the community’ and said ‘The consequences of the bull potentially infecting the national herd and the financial consequences of that for people’s lives, and indeed potentially people’s health, are just unthinkable.’
Stephen Green, who lives and farms in Carmarthenshire, went on,
‘Poor Wood has let his hatred of all things religious run away with him. The pompous secularist is now claiming to be an expert on farming and animal health, from his comfortable pad in the livestock-rearing heartland of suburban West London.
‘The truth is that the risk to humans of catching TB from drinking milk from cattle which have the disease is very low, as is the risk from eating meat. In the UK, cases of humans catching it by aerosol from infected animals are miniscule. There is a picture of three of the officials who collected Shambo on the SkandaVale website. None of them is wearing protective gloves and there is not a facemask between them. Clearly Skanda Vale endangered ‘the welfare of the community’ not one whit.
‘In addition, the test for bovine TB is not 100% accurate. It isn’t even 50% accurate. As it happens, only around 35% of animals who react to the TB skin test were actually proved post-slaughter to have TB in the last three years, according to Ben Bradshaw MP in a written answer in Parliament on 8th January 2007. Defra admit that for the new Gamma-Interferon test the proportion drops to 20%, but cover themselves by saying all the others probably had it anyway. On the ground, farmers in the know make sure they drench their cattle for liver fluke when a TB test is due. That simple measure reduces false positives.
‘Finally, the image Wood conjured up of Shambo rampaging around the British countryside infecting ‘the national herd’ is not ‘unthinkable’, his word, but laughable. Shambo was in a secluded, secure pen. Hindu monks may view things differently from other people, but they were not going to turn Shambo loose in the Carmarthenshire lanes to spread his infections from Land’s End to John O’Groats. And Shambo looked more like a bullock than a bull to me.
‘What farmers have been saying all the way through is not that the TB test is infallible – no-one can claim that – but that everyone should be treated the same. Farmers have lost whole herds on the basis on a flawed TB test, but if they were going to be treated like that, then they said the Hindus at Skanda Vale should be dealt with just the same.
‘Of course it is daft to deify created things rather than the God who made them, but secularists are unable to say that; after all, they deify mankind: Man is his own god to them. People like Keith Wood can’t or won’t see any difference between any religion, and in such a blinkered mind, a chance to do Hinduism down just because it is a world religion was just too tempting a bait to pass by.
‘Perhaps in future Pompous will stick to pontificating upon things he knows something about. Of course that will narrow it down quite a lot.
Maskless Defra Health Officials arrive at Skanda Vale to remove Shambo
In the meantime, it is really rather sad that animal health officials are so inflexible as not to allow quarantine and treatment of animals including the newly-tested bovines. It isn’t as if the Skanda Vale bullock and water buffalo will be getting anywhere near the food chain or pose any risk, properly quarantined, to other animals. But of course flexibility, humanity and common sense have not been demonstrable qualities amongst Defra or Welsh Assembly officials.’
Seven things you might not have known about the National Secular Society:
1 Its Executive Director, Keith Porteous Wood, is homosexual.
Partners in Perversion: Keith Porteous Wood (l) and Terry Sanderson (the latter is now deceased).
2 Its President, Terry Sanderson, is also homosexual.
3 Wood and Sanderson are partners in, er, perversion, sharing a house in Ealing and having chosen to benefit from entering into a ‘civil partnership’, which, of course, the National Secular Society campaigned for.
4 Both are leading members of the Gay & Lesbian Humanist Association (Galha).
5 The National Secular Society hates all religions and despises all people of faith with a passion. It is especially piqued at Christianity in general and Britain’s Christian Constitution in particular. Its leadership detests all expressions of Christian morality, and the virtues of chastity and fidelity are especially repugnant to them, given the intensity with which they fulminate against projects like the Silver Ring Thing.
6 The National Secular Society is very keen on children being sexualised at an early age by free condoms and sex education – especially if it includes material on homosexuality. What a surprise!
7 The NSS don’t know the difference between a bull and a bullock. For the record, a bullock (or steer) is a bull who was castrated as a calf. Such an animal is more placid than a bull and lacks the bull’s characteristic high neck-muscle and powerful fore-quarters. Bulls are only kept for breeding, bullocks are for meat. (Or, rarely, to have garlands hung round them in Hindu temples in Wales.)
Christian Voice is a prophetic ministry in the ‘forthtelling’ sense for those Christians who are fed up with the way things are, have had enough of secularist politicians imposing wickedness on the rest of us and who are not satisfied with trying to get ‘Christian influence in a secular world’ because they know ‘The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein’ (Psalm 24:1). If you want instead to lift high the Crown Rights of the King of kings, you have found the right place!
