University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has announced a critical incident, citing what it calls “exceptional” numbers of flu patients.
According to the trust, 269 individuals have been admitted with influenza, prompting an immediate return to mask-wearing across all clinical departments.
The trust, which oversees Good Hope, Heartlands, Queen Elizabeth, and Solihull hospitals, reports that emergency departments remain overcrowded and that waiting times are “extended” despite additional capacity being opened on wards and in A&E.
Officials are instructing the public to “think carefully” before seeking hospital care and to use pharmacies or NHS 111 unless facing a life-threatening emergency.
This year’s strain, has been called ‘subclade K’ or ‘super flu’.
Daniel Elkeles, chief executive of NHS Providers which represents NHS trusts, said the country is seeing a “very nasty strain of flu” that has occurred earlier in the year than normal.
“When you were talking about anything like Covid, I think we need to get back into the habit that if you are coughing and sneezing, but you’re not unwell enough to not go to work, then you must wear a mask when you’re in public spaces, including on public transport to stop the chances of you giving your virus to somebody else,” he said.
“And we were all very good about infection control during Covid. And we really, really need to get back to that now.”
If you are really sick, it should be in bed”

The UK Health Security Agency wrote in a blog last week that “masks continue to be a useful tool in limiting the spread of respiratory viruses in some situations”.
However, the Conservative leader, Kemi Badenoch, disagrees with the idea, adding she was “still slightly traumatised by all the mask-wearing that we had to do during Covid”.
She told Sky News: “I personally think that face coverings can be a barrier to social interaction, social cohesion and I do worry about a mask mandate.
“I don’t think the government should be mandating anything. Let’s have some common sense. I think people can make up their own minds.
“If you are really sick, it should be in bed. It should not be on public transport. I think that’s more of a problem. But the truth is, many people are contagious before they realise that they’re even ill. So I’m not sure that it would work.”
The number of people in hospital with flu in England is at a record level for this time of year. An average of 1,717 flu patients were in beds in England each day, including 69 in critical care, the most recent data showed.
The declaration is presented as an unusual, unforeseeable spike in flu. Yet every winter, the NHS faces predictable respiratory surges, a reality acknowledged for decades. The question, therefore, is simple: Why is a normal seasonal pattern being framed as crisis?
Christian Voice readers will remember the pattern during the Covid years: seasonal illness rebranded as a public emergency, fear amplified, and the solution pre-packaged in the form of mass vaccination.
The NHS has repeatedly entered black alerts every winter long before Covid existed. The public deserves honesty, not recycled crisis language.

Meanwhile, worldwide databases record tens of thousands of reported deaths following Covid vaccination. These figures come from official passive-reporting systems such as ONS and the World Health Oganisation.
Governments insist these reports do not prove causation, but the numbers remain unprecedented in vaccine history. In prior decades, far smaller signals led to vaccine withdrawals.
Death reports
The MHRA’s Yellow Card system has recorded over 2,000 reports of death following Covid vaccination since rollout began. Again, regulators deny causality in most cases, but the sheer volume of reports, compared with all previous vaccines combined, remains extraordinary.
Families who lost loved ones following the jab continue to seek inquests, coroners’ verdicts, and recognition. For many, the silence from authorities speaks more loudly than the data.
Sadly, as Scripture warns: Luke 12: 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Documented covid lies
Christian Voice has consistently tracked the most provable deceptions of the Covid era and vaccinations. Here are several that were later publicly corrected or exposed:
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), alongside the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, quietly issued clinical guidance for detecting and managing myocarditis and pericarditis linked to Covid-19 vaccination.
Rob Slane did an in-depth report on the dangers of vaccination to the immune system. These adverse effects include cardiac damage, deaths, fertility problems, and the overall human immune system.
The weather as an excuse for manipulation
The winter months predictably bring,respiratory infections, influenza waves, colds and sore throats, RSV in children, and increased hospital pressures.
This happens every single year. Yet before 2020, such patterns were never treated as justification for masks, emergency declarations, or mass vaccination campaigns across the general population.
Meanwhile, the Summer generally brings: food-borne illness, heat exhaustion, mild enterovirus outbreaks (“summer colds”), pollen and allergy-related complaints.
Summer does not normally produce high respiratory admissions. Yet in the Covid era, even summer sniffles were transformed into opportunities for testing, tracking, and vaccination.
Why this matters
Seasonal colds should never be used as a pretext for mandating injections for the healthy majority. Yet the public has been conditioned to expect pharmaceutical intervention instead of normal immunity.
The attempt to reframe ordinary winter flu as a crisis follows the same script.
Hospitals may indeed be under strain, but the narrative that this strain is “exceptional” fits far too neatly into the post-Covid pattern of perpetual emergency.
Christians are commanded to test every claim: 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
What the public needs now is truth, transparency, and the courage to question official narratives that no longer resemble reality.
Matthew 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
PRAY: Command every flu, fever, and respiratory affliction to leave your household. Declare that no sickness shall take root in your body or family. Pray for our leaders.

Have you seen or heard adverts encouraging you to install a smart meter? Where do they come from? Who pays for them?
Smart Energy GB
Well, a quick search shows they are made by a government quango, Smart Energy GB. And what was Smart Energy GB set up to do?
It’s there, and I quote from AI, although its website says much the same, to ‘inform consumers about the benefits of smart meters and managing household energy budgets’.
Why are the government promoting smart meters? AI says: ‘Governments promote smart meters to improve energy efficiency, provide consumers with tools to manage consumption and save money, and modernize the energy grid to support a transition to renewable energy sources.
‘Smart meters enable automatic meter readings, real-time consumption data, and the development of a flexible, low-carbon energy system that can better integrate intermittent sources like wind and solar power.’
Two-way communication’?
How do Smart Meters modernize the energy grid? AI says: By ‘enabling two-way communication between utilities and consumers’.
Well, that’s economical with the truth. You don’t communicate with the utility company, they interrogate your smart meter which informs on you about your minute by minute electricity consumption.
Why can’t those in power tell the truth? Because they don’t do God any more. It’s all just what they think they can get away with:
Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
‘Flexible, low-carbon energy’
And although the spin is of developing ‘flexible, low-carbon energy’ ‘integrate … wind and solar power’, your Smart Meter neither knows nor cares where your electricity is coming from.
Can they switch you off remotely? Well, only with a court warrant for non-payment. Unless the law is changed some day to enforce electricity use at off-peak periods. Currently, the adverts merely encourage you to do that.
We do that already in our house, but you need an economy seven tariff with slightly less expensive electricity from midnight to seven am to make it just about worth doing.
Even then, you don’t know the peaks and troughs during the day, even if you wanted to. And of course if the elite persist with their obsession with renewable energy, if there were enough of them, smart meters might better enable the phased black-outs they will need. But someone will more likely just pull a big switch in your local power station.
So who is paying for all this advertising? Because, bear in mind, promoting smart meters and usage is all Smart Energy GB does. Where is their budget, £38.3 million in 2022, more no doubt today, coming from?
Well, AI says: ‘The budget is primarily funded by contributions from large energy retailers.’ Oh, that’s OK, isn’t it? Hold on.
‘The costs are recovered through standing charges on energy bills.’ So you are funding their campaign for a national smart meter rollout. It’s just more unbiblical taxation. You are paying for government propaganda targeted at you, your family and friends. And there is nothing you can do about it.
The Bible says: Micah 2:1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds!
when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
As it happens, we have a smart meter. When we last did a switch, the new least expensive supplier demanded it. But why can’t they just leave uptake of smart meters to the market?
Why more taxation and a nannying quango?
Why cannot we walk at liberty, as the Bible demands? Psa 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
This might be a minor matter, but it sits alongside all the government waste and profligacy, all their sin and arrogance, their belief that they know best, not the people, and certainly not the King of kings, the Lord Jesus.
There is much repenting of the old establishment ways to do, much turning to Christ, and seeking his will for what a government should and should not do.
Pray the Lord will raise up the able, truthful, honest, humble, God-fearing men who are up to that challenge:

The Mail revealed the gig was at London’s Natural History Museum, the Cathedral of Evolution, no less. Sky News said it was ‘an environmental engagement’.
Looking closer, The Telegraph’s actual article went on: ‘Father and son attend a ‘Countdown to Cop30’ reception ahead of the climate summit in November’.
It was the elitists’ climate scam that was so important to the two of them, a plush event laid on for the green blob. Or as the Palace website put it: for ‘changemakers, business leaders, and climate ambassadors from around the world’.

HM skipping the climate Jamboree
His Majesty is skipping the ‘Conference of Parties’ Jamboree in Brazil on 6th and 7tth November this year. But not because he has realised the world depends on carbon dioxide, that the climate scare is a money-making hoax, that ordinary people have had enough of being told what vehicles to buy and how to heat their homes and paying through the nose for green levies to support the green blob, and that repeal of the UK’s unbiblical Climate Change Act is now just a matter of time.
Nor because he has read what the Lord tells rulers like him: Ezek 45:9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.
HM may not be going, but he who has seen the son has seen the father, as we read: ‘Prince William will attend the global conference in Belem, on the Amazon Delta, on behalf of his father and will deliver a speech.’
King’s history in climate scaremongering

The King has history in climate scaremongering. He addressed his first Cop summit in 2009, as Prince of Wales. That was in Copenhagen at Cop15. He warned global leaders that the ‘eyes of the world’ were upon them. Probably in envy at all the fine dining.
At Cop26 in Glasgow, in 2021, as HRH Prince Charles, the king claimed a ‘war-like footing’ was needed to tackle what he called ‘the climate crisis’. He went on to tell the assembled dignitaries including UK PM Boris Johnson and UN Secretary-General (‘World is Boiling’) António Guterres, ‘We know this will take trillions, not billions, of dollars’.
Charles went on: ‘Here we need a vast military-style campaign to harness the power of the private sector.’
There is a word for a political system where politicians recruit the private sector to do their bidding through a combination of political alliances with economic elites, corporatism, state control (dirigism) over economic activity, and financial incentives in exchange for loyalty to the state’s goals. Like it or not, it’s not called ‘partnership’ with ‘stakeholders’, it’s simply called fascism.
Bible opposes king’s fascist dream
In contrast, the biblical model is for the state to maintain order while economic activity depends on small-scale family businesses: 1Kings 4:25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
Scripture objects to state control and monopolies. The prophet pronounces: Isaiah 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
In 1Sam chapter 8:11-17, the prophet Samuel warned the people against the arrogance and ambitions of kings: 1Sam 8:11 … He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; … 13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 16 … take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, … 17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

That is in all honesty the oppressive, fascist system Charles was proposing at COP26. And at COP30, according to GBNews, Prince William was on the same page, moaning to Ed Miliband and Sir Keir Starmer that ‘major corporations are failing to demonstrate sufficient bravery in addressing environmental challenges’.
GBNews said: ‘During his five-day visit for the Earthshot Prize ceremony and Cop30 climate summit, the Prince of Wales is thought to have expressed profound disappointment with private industry’s lukewarm response to the climate emergency.
‘The prince urged the corporate world to “step up to the plate”, highlighting widespread hesitancy among businesses to engage meaningfully with environmental initiatives. His frustration stems from observing that numerous companies remain unwilling to participate actively in climate solutions.’
Just who does he think he is, telling private companies to do the establishment’s bidding, Benito Mussolini?
The Bible opposes them all and extols liberty:

Cop26 should have been held in 2020 but it was postponed owing to the COVID-19 panic. Instead, Charles spent that year promoting the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset, alongside his pal Klaus Schwab, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the head of the IMF, the President of Microsoft, BP, Mastercard and so on.

‘As we move from rescue to recovery, we have a unique but rapidly shrinking window of opportunity to learn lessons and reset ourselves on a more sustainable path. … We must use all the levers we have at our disposal, knowing that each and every one of us has a vital role to play.’ The ‘levers’ are once again that dirigist system of forcing the ‘more receptive’ people to do what the globalists want.
’More and more pandemics’
In a SkyNews Australia video, Charles is heard (at 3:56 – 4:08) warning: ‘Unless we take the action necessary, and we build again in a greener and more sustainable and more inclusive way, then we will end up having more and more pandemics.’

Will we indeed? A recent article of ours showed how Germany is ramping up mRNA production just as Bill Gates is funding research on making Bird Flu transmissible to human. In the video, Charles goes on to threaten ‘disasters from global warming and climate change’. Those of course have been promised by climate fanatics for decades and are taking rather a long time to manifest themselves.
And if you remember the WEF promo video, you will be happy and you will own nothing. Because after the Great Reset, they would own it all. Thankfully, by the grace of God, it is not going to happen:

Earthshot Prize latest edition

The day before the COP extravaganza, on 5th November 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Prince William will be basking in the latest edition of the Earthshot Prize.’
The event will be held, naturally, at Brazil’s ‘Museum of Tomorrow’. And then His Royal Highness will fly off to the Amazon to join 70,000 other elitists jetting in to COP30. A BBC report reveals that the globalists have felled around 100,000 trees in prime rainforest to build an 8-mile long 4-lane highway called Avenida Liberdade (Freedom Avenue). The need for the new highway is not clear from any of the reports. Belem airport is to the north of the city, nowhere near the new road.
’Repair our planet’?
On his royalfoundation.com website, someone speaking for the Prince writes: ‘The Prize will incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years – a critical decade for the Earth.’
The Earthshot Prize has five categories: ‘Protect and Restore Nature, Clean our Air, Revive our Oceans, Build a Waste-free World and Fix our Climate.’
The Bible shows mankind as over the earth but by implication custodians of it: Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Out of that, we should agree with protecting nature, without going gooey-eyed about bats and newts, having clean air to breathe and reducing waste.
Astonishing hubris
But what (it’s tempting to say ‘what on earth’) does the Prince mean by ‘Revive our Oceans’ and above all by ‘Repair our Planet’? He uses the expression all the time, as do the commentators. For example: ‘Prince William and Sir David Attenborough Join Forces to Repair the Planet by 2030 With £50 Million Prize.’ An allied expression, and the subject of one of the five prizes, is ‘Fix the Climate’. But the Prince never actually defines or explains what needs ‘repairing’ or ‘fixing’ by 2030. Maybe the earth’s clutch is wearing out? Or something needs welding? Who knows? Or is it, a cynical thought maybe, just a catchy slogan, a ‘thing of nought’?
Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
The plain fact is, mortal man cannot begin to comprehend the oceans, the climate or their interaction. The entire system was set in place by God himself and it is all sustained by his wisdom and his law-word. The Bible says: Job 26:12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

It follows that pretending to be able to ‘’revive the oceans’ and ‘fix the climate’ is astonishing hubris and stupidity. The project can only appeal to those who have left off to take heed to the Lord. In a sign that the light is dawning, the judges even abandoned the absurd ‘fix our climate’ goal this year in favour of a resilience project.

HRH launched his vanity Earthshot project in 2020 inevitably at the World Economic Forum alongside that man who believes human beings are a plague on the earth, the evolutionist, atheist and climate scaremonger Sir David Attenborough.’
Human beings are made in the image of God
Here is another David, King David, writing in the Bible, in Psalm 41: Psalm 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
While in the book of Proverbs which follows the psalms: Prov 29:7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
Human beings are not a plague, we are made in the image of God: Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Royalty especially should be very aware of what it is written about bad company: 1Cor 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Badly advised

His Majesty and His Royal Highness have been badly advised: Prov 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
So please pray for humble, truthful, honest, God-fearing men prepared to challenge preconceptions to come alongside them. Pray that by the grace of God they might become men whose first thought is the prosperity of their people, rather than that of the elite, the luvvies, the monied and the wokerati they have become used to rubbing shoulders with.
Prince William and Jacinda Ardern at, once again, the World Economic Forum in Davos
Again by the grace of God, as Daily Sceptic reports, the wheels are beginning to come off the Net Zero fantasy project. A US report has rubbished the ‘settled science’ dogma, a US journal has accidentally published its first-ever climate sceptical article, fewer and fewer nations are willing to commit to the sort of policies which will please the green lobbyists, while last year, the president of COP29 in hydrocarbon-rich Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev praised oil and gas as “gifts from God”.
And, you would need a heart of stone not to laugh, but Oatly’s ‘climate doom’ marketing has seen sales plummet. The heavily-engineered, water-intensive, pretend-milk product has bombed. ‘No-one likes being lectured by their latte’ observed Lee Taylor in Daily Sceptic. ‘Commerce works best when it’s honest,’ he observed, drily.
Meanwhile, here in the UK, the Government has admitted to spending a fortune in taxpayers’ money on overseas botched climate projects.
The Belem Highway destroyed 100,000 trees for no discernable purpose.
Even those involved in the new road cited above are accused of ‘greenwashing’. The Indy reports Kemi Badenoch has challenged the Prime Minister to “find the backbone to ditch Ed Miliband’s net zero fanaticism” and renew drilling in the North Sea, while the Guardian is horrified that both the Conservatives and Reform are ready to repeal the 2008 Climate Change Act.
Can HM & HRH be ‘admonished’?
If either (or both) of those parties find themselves in office after the next general election, which Mr Farage believes could come as soon as 2027, the King could find himself with ministers opposed to the climate catastrophe view he seems to have held for rather too long. In such an event, and in any case, we pray he has the humility to accept the new advice.
The Bible says: Eccl 4:13 Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.
Is His Majesty that king? If so, if he desires honour, it’s time for humility: Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Net zero support decoupling from climate concern: More in Common
Polling data from the More in Common think tank reveals a stark decline in public prioritisation of climate change.
Just 13 % of respondents now place it in their top three issues. Among Reform voters, the number plunges to 4 %; 11 % of Conservatives, 20 % of Labour supporters, and 24 % of Liberal Democrats do so. Even among Green voters, only 34 % rate it a major concern—overtaken today by cost of living (59 %) and healthcare (40 %).
This shift is more than a political footnote—it signals a deeper crisis of trust and fatigue. People are worn down by inflation, energy bills, and uncertainty. The rhetoric of climate action no longer inspires; it exhausts.
Polling from More in Common also shows that while many still believe climate change matters, support for the government’s net-zero agenda has drifted.

The policy consensus frays
Untill recently, net zero was a rare point of cross-party agreement. But that consensus is unravelling. The Guardian’s environment coverage now reports that both the Conservative Party and Reform UK are openly questioning the viability of achieving zero emissions by 2050.
Some senior Conservatives have raised doubts about climate science and expressed concern about the cost burden on ordinary families.
Reform voices have echoed that net zero is unrealistic, arguing instead for adaptation and questioning the assumptions behind decarbonisation.
On the ground, the disconnect between climate concern and willingness to pay is widening. In the Climate Barometer tracker, 63 % of Britons still support the net zero target. But many now express confusion, ambivalence, or doubt about how it will be achieved. Trust is a big factor.
Citizens are increasingly sceptical that governments or industry can deliver a just and affordable transition. Doubts have grown especially strong among Conservative voters, whose support for the target has dropped sharply over the last year.
In one telling quote from a public poll:
“I don’t really understand this Net Zero thing … I think it’s a bit fake to be honest.”
This resembles a crisis of credibility. Without clear, tangible improvements, rhetoric rings hollow.
Now we are seeing political and institutional push-back. UK Opposition Shift: Kemi Badenoch, Conservative leader, publicly announced opposition to the 2050 net zero goal, calling it too costly and potentially damaging to the economy.
Political Fracturing: As reported in the Financial Times, the once-broad consensus on climate is now fractured. Some Conservative voices argue for watering down obligations or delaying deadlines.
Analysts warn that many are sceptical of paying the price for net zero.
Surveys and media commentary show that a growing number of people feel net zero policies have hit them more than helped them, especially in a cost-of-living crisis.
We must call for clarity, accountability, and justice in climate policy. We must connect policies to people’s everyday lives, show how transition can relieve suffering, and insist that solutions respect human dignity.
As Peter wrote: 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
The cost of net zero on families
We recently reported that Net Zero is impoverishing the British people, sacrificing prosperity on the altar of an man-made idol of climate fanaticism.
A Reform UK MP said that scrapping the government’s “Net Stupid Zero” agenda could save families £1,000 a year.
This follows the government’s launch of another round of “green subsidies—Allocation Round 7 (AR7)“, encouraging wind and solar firms to bid for multi-billion-pound taxpayer-funded contracts.
Richard Tice MP warns this is a “conceit Britain cannot afford.”
We also reported how the push for net zero threatens jobs and endangers pedestrian safety in the country.
According to Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the number of jobs in the oil and gas sector has declined significantly over the past decade, dropping from 117,900 to 74,100. During the same period, employment in Scotland’s low carbon and renewables sector has seen only modest growth, increasing from 23,200 to 25,700 jobs.
OEUK Chief Executive David Whitehouse said: ‘Labour either can’t do the maths or haven’t considered the alarming jobs impact that will be felt up and down the country. With no new investment, 42,000 jobs will go, and we could start to see the effects as early as this year.

The UK faces a critical crossroads in its energy future, industry leaders and politicians have warned at the Offshore Europe conference in Aberdeen. But it is becoming clearer by the day, as target after target is missed, that the NetZero project cannot remain as one of the signposts at the crossroads.
Net Zero is impoverishing the people, sacrificing prosperity on the altar of an man-made idol of climate fanaticism. The Bible says our leaders have a choice:

’Jet Zero’
When Boris Johnson promised Britain would lead the world into an age of “jet zero,” the former prime minister spoke of transatlantic flights powered by sustainable fuels, making air travel ‘guilt-free’.
Billions across the West were poured into research on hydrogen-electric engines, synthetic fuels, and new battery technologies. Airlines have been forced to meet quotas for green fuel, while passengers have faced rising aviation taxes in the name of ‘climate responsibility’.
Five years on, the vision is collapsing. Shell has pulled the plug on a major sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) project in the Netherlands, saying it is too costly and uncompetitive. Analysts now describe the SAF industry as running out of momentum, with even global giants unable to produce affordable fuels at scale.
Electric Aircraft? Dream on

In Britain, Dale Vince’s “Ecojet,” heralded as the flag-carrier of green aviation, has laid off most of its staff and is struggling to raise the £20 million needed to launch.
And speaking of ‘launch’, or rather ‘take-off’, it is now clear that the electric aeroplanes which formed a crucial part of ‘Ecojet’ will remain a pipe-dream for one crucial reason: Landing.
Putting an aircraft down onto the tarmac is far more challenging than coaxing it into the air on take-off in the first place. A modern jet airliner can weigh as much as one hundred tons less when landing than it did at takeoff, having expended its fuel on the way. That loss in weight enables the pilot to land safely. The safety issue explains why airline pilots forced into an early emergency landing must, if fuelled up for a long haul, first dump tons of kerosene into the air.
An electric aircraft weighs the same at landing as takeoff. Either the battery will be so small the aircraft will be restricted to a micro route or any pilot will take a risk landing the brute.
Flight levies and taxes scrapped
Governments are beginning to retreat from ‘Jet Zero’ as well. Sweden has scrapped its green flight levy after recognising the damage it inflicted on tourism and industry. India and Germany have also cut aviation taxes.
Landing an aeroplane is more challenging than taking off.
Britain, by contrast, has gone in the opposite direction. The Government have raised air passenger duty yet again, despite warnings it punishes families and businesses without delivering meaningful environmental benefit.
It is a form of taxation which bears heavily on ordinary people, now that travel and foreign holidays in the sun are regarded as something of a necessity in the public mind. For the UK Government, the tax is also part of unbiblical levels of taxation imposed to carry out unbiblical policies and activities:
Zechariah 7:9-10 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
OE2025: “UK energy future at crossroads”
Meanwhile, industry leaders and politicians at the Offshore Europe conference in Aberdeen warned that UK energy security must depend on domestic oil and gas.
OEUK chair David Whitehouse argued that future government decisions on oil and gas licenses, the Energy Profits Levy, which puts ‘windfall’ taxes on profits from oil and gas, and renewable energy will determine the future of the North Sea and the broader economy.
The OEUK chair advocates for a path of home-grown energy and reindustrialisation, emphasing that the energy sector is vital for national security, economic prosperity, and highly skilled jobs.
Mr Whitehouse said: ‘The sector is critical – the path to energy security, economic value, highly skilled jobs, tackling emissions. Reindustrialisation not deindustrialisation.’
Kemi ditches ‘transition’

Opposition Leader Kemi Badenoch MP criticised the government’s halt on new exploration licences and continued windfall tax, highlighting that the sector is currently shedding around 1,000 jobs per month.
She warned that without immediate investment, the UK could soon be importing 80% of its oil and gas requirement.
“Oil and gas still account for three-quarters of UK energy needs,” she said. Furthermore, Ms. Badenoch said Norway had made its biggest discovery in 10 years, “while we are leaving our resources untouched.”
Mrs Badenoch also took aim at the ‘North Sea Transition Authority’ quango. The virtue-signalling ‘Transition’ element of its name would go if she becomes prime minister. ‘We also will change the name of the NSTA to just North Sea Authority.’
We are sabotaging ourselves
‘We are sabotaging ourselves and had the lowest oil production in [nearly 50 years]. We’ve got to get that oil and gas out of the ground.’ With domestic output waning, imports now underpin 40% of energy demand, contributing to a £21 billion annual energy trade deficit.
Accordingly, the Tory leader proposed what she described as ‘one clear mission’ for the renamed North Sea Authority: ‘To maximise North Sea production.’
‘We will judge operators on one thing, how much they produce,’ continued Ms. Badenoch. ‘Without investment now, the UK will be importing 80% of its oil and gas, leaving us open to supply squeezes. The economy must come first. It’s about whether Britain grows or declines.’
Net Zero Aid Projects Cancelled

On a positive note, the Government have confirmed that millions of pounds will be stripped from overseas aid projects tied to net zero, according to the Telegraph.
Development minister Baroness Chapman outlined the cuts as part of a broader aid budget reduction, targeting schemes in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Among the casualties are cash payments to Malawian villagers apparently designed to help families reinforce homes against extreme weather, as well as projects worth £95 million in Jordan and £120 million in Pakistan. How did they ever manage without neo-colonial largesse?
The cuts follow Sir Keir Starmer’s decision to shrink Britain’s aid budget to just 0.3 per cent of national income by 2027, well below the official 0.7 per cent commitment, in order to divert the 0.4% balance into the Ministry of Defence.
Lady Chapman has spun the reductions as a shift from being an ‘aid donor’ to becoming a ‘partner and investor,’ promising ‘greater scrutiny’ to ensure ‘every pound delivers for the UK taxpayer.’ It may be tempting to laugh, but the Bible says:
Psalm 118:9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Balancing energy future
Offshore Energies UK estimates that scrapping the Energy Profits Levy could enable the UK to produce 50% of its energy needs by 2050, tapping up to 7.5 billion barrels of recoverable oil versus the 4.3 billion under current tax policy.
However, speakers at the Offshore Europe Conference still could not shake off the climate catastrophe language. They called for an ‘integrated’ approach which they saw as supporting North Sea development while advancing renewables, avoiding what they saw as ‘the false dichotomy of growth versus decarbonisation’.
Mr Whitehouse himself argued to ‘take the polarisation out of the debate’. It was, he said, ‘A debate which too often is boiled down into binary choices. Oil versus renewables. Clean jobs versus dirty jobs. Growth v Net Zero. These are false choices.’
But of course they are not false choices. Economic growth really is incompatible with a net zero agenda. We have seen this clearly in South Wales, where the previous government sacrificed the jobs and prosperity of virgin stell-making at Port Talbot on the altar of net zero. The closure of the blast furnaces was even praised as a great green new dawn by the Business Secretary of the time, one Kemi Badenoch. Watch our video:
Economic burden imposed on families
Families are already feeling the pinch: rising energy bills, squeezed food budgets, and community disruption. We have already reported that a Reform MP has warned that families are being forced to pay £1,000 more each year to meet the costs of Net Zero, .
Ofgem’s upcoming price cap hike will push average annual energy bills to around £1,755, an increase of £35.
The Conservatives estimate that climate policies will add £389 per household per year by 2030, an annual national cost of around £22.8 billion.
Once more, it is unjust, unwarranted and unbiblical taxation. As always, the prophets of old have a word for our leaders of today:
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
If Net Zero policies continue to penalise homegrown energy without accounting for real-world impacts, the burden falls upon ordinary people.
Prioritising households, securing jobs, and protecting energy sovereignty would be imperatives for any God-fearing leaders who had advancing the prosperity of the people they govern as their first priority. We need to pray for leaders who know this word of the Lord:
Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Energy Security has no place for ‘Net Zero’
The North Sea isn’t just an energy resource, it underpins jobs, local economies, and national security. At a time when domestic production is falling and imports are rising, energy strategy becomes a matter of moral stewardship. After the fall of Jerusalem, the Prophet Jeremiah was bemoaning a lack of resource and energy security:
Lam 5:4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
It follows from all we have seen that the name of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero is a virtue-signalling fantasy, a chimera, an oxymoron. We can have one or the other, either Energy Security or Net Zero. But we cannot have both, and as one is a godly priority bringing prosperity and the other is an idol leading to penury, it’s clear which must go.
In the light of Jeremiah’s complaint, it may be argued that a Department for Energy Security will be useful if it prioritises the building of nuclear reactors and domestic oil and gas, even coal, to reduce energy costs and rebuild industry and jobs.
But the Net Zero element? That idol must be torn down as the nation’s leaders return to trust the Lord.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), alongside the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, has quietly issued clinical guidance for detecting and managing myocarditis and pericarditis linked to Covid-19 vaccination.
This guidance, endorsed by the British Congenital Cardiac Association (BCCA), represents a formal acknowledgement of concerns that were raised early on by frontline clinicians and researchers.
International regulators also sounded the alarm, including Israel’s Ministry of Health, which reported a probable link between mRNA vaccines and myocarditis cases in young men as early as June 2021.
In July 2021, the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) safety committee concluded that myocarditis and pericarditis can occur in very rare cases following Comirnaty and Spikevax vaccination.
Luke 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
In late 2021 and 2022, Freedom of Information data revealed hundreds of reported myocarditis cases following COVID-19 vaccination.
Officials acknowledged the reports but maintained that the benefits outweighed the risks and downplayed any potential long-term effects.
Yet, official NHS and UKHSA guidance now openly instructs clinicians how to diagnose and treat the very same conditions. Was the earlier silence political, medical, or both?
For those who have suffered, this new guidance is a grim vindication.
More than 17,500 Britons have applied for compensation under the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme, many citing heart inflammation.
Families who have lost loved ones, and individuals living with lifelong injury, spent years battling to be believed. Transparency delayed is justice denied.
The UK’s vaccine damage payment scheme
The UK’s Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS) is presented as a safety net. In reality, it often functions like a high wall.
A one-off, tax-free lump sum (currently £120,000) is available where a vaccine is judged to have caused severe disablement. But the bar is set at 60% disablement, a threshold so high that many with serious, life-altering injuries are shut out. Families bereaved after a suspected vaccine injury may apply, yet face the same steep evidential test.
Inadequate redress: £120,000 is not indexed to modern costs of care, earnings loss, or lifelong support. For many, it does not touch the real economic and emotional toll.
Those who do not meet 60% are told to seek civil litigation, an arena of legal expense and expert battles beyond most families. If the State mandates, markets, and messages a medical intervention, it should also deliver timely, fair, and proportionate redress when harm occurs. Anything less erodes public trust.
Public health or public relations?
The release of this guidance could be a long-overdue act of honesty, but the timing raises suspicion. Past parliamentary submissions, including from MPs like Sir David Davis, called for more transparency on vaccine harms and were ignored.
Could this be less about protecting the public, and more about protecting the government from future legal or reputational fallout?
Meanwhile, from lockdown impact studies to excess death statistics, admissions have often come years late, long after they could have influenced policy. If myocarditis is only now officially acknowledged, what other truths about the Covid-19 response remain hidden?
A call for full disclosure
The Bible calls for truth in all things, not just when it is politically safe to admit it. The government must release the full data on vaccine side effects, publish all past submissions and safety signals, and give the public the honesty it deserves. Anything less will deepen the distrust already sown.

It has been revealed that the number of lives saved by Covid mRNA ‘vaccines’ was far fewer than had first been declared.
The World Health Organisation’s claim of 14.4 million lives saved in the first year of vaccination has now been challenged.
Stanford University and Italian researchers have concluded that the true figure was “substantially more conservative”, closer to 2.5 million globally across the entire pandemic period.
Nine in ten of these saved lives were among the over-60s, with just 299 people under 20 saved worldwide.
Proverbs 4: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Concerns have grown that for some, especially the young, Covid vaccines carried risks that outweighed any potential benefit.
Over 17,500 Britons have applied for Government vaccine damage payments, believing they or their loved ones suffered harm.
Warnings about myocarditis and pericarditis have now been added to mRNA vaccine prescribing information.
Researchers noted that earlier studies may have been overly optimistic about vaccine effectiveness and failed to account for waning immunity.
Benefit ‘mostly limited’ to the elderly
Data from the study showed the over-70s accounted for nearly 70% of lives saved, with a further 20% among those aged 60–70.
Under-20s represented just 0.01% of lives saved, and the 20–30 age group only 0.07%.
It was calculated that 5,400 vaccinations were required to save one life overall – but for the under-30s, this rose to 100,000 doses.
Such findings give weight to calls for age-targeted vaccination policies in future health crises.

Calls for caution
Sir David Davis, MP, described the findings as a cautionary tale.
He said the most susceptible groups had been quickly identified, yet the vaccination campaign targeted all, placing many at “hazard’s way” unnecessarily.
He criticised the silencing of those who raised legitimate safety concerns – concerns now validated by the data.
Meanwhile, Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., a long-standing critic of mRNA vaccines, maintained they were not vaccines under any definition, but gene therapies that could not even secure approval for cancer treatments before the pandemic.
Through tireless campaigning, RFK Jr. has succeeded in halting $500 million of US funding for mRNA development and overturning contracts – particularly with Moderna.
His stance has gained global attention, further fuelling debate over the future of such technologies.
In the meantime, Professor Angus Dalgleish, co-author of The Origin of the Virus, has backed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s move to scrap funding for mRNA research. Writing on X, He noted: ‘RFK Jr’s decision to defund the mRNA research programme has been condemned by all the usual suspects, from the BBC to the Guardian. But he was right to do it.’

Lessons in truth and stewardship
The revised figures present a sobering reminder that truth must never be sacrificed to policy zeal.
In future, public health decisions must be anchored in honest data, targeted interventions, and the safeguarding of individual conscience.
The aggressive pursuit of universal vaccination, regardless of risk profile, will be remembered as a misstep, one that must never be repeated.

Electricity prices have soared, not due to market greed but due to state-engineered policies. According to Net Zero Watch, three-quarters of the rise in energy bills over the last decade is directly tied to green policies and lavish subsidies to wind and solar companies.
Closed: The Port Talbot Blast Furnaces
This is not just about household bills. It strikes at the heart of Britain’s ability to function. Energy undergirds everything: industry, transport, food, manufacturing. The notion that we can dismantle our reliable hydrocarbon base and rely on intermittent weather-based energy without consequences is naïve at best, wicked at worst. Britain’s electricity prices are the highest in the world, driven by subsidies paid for by energy consumers
Just today the Telegraph reported that we are importing cement because energy costs too much for firms to make much of it here. Glass works and pottery are moving overseas. Blast furnaces are being closed.
Ecclesiastes 10:2 A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.
Politicians across parties have clung to the green gospel, a secular creed devoid of wisdom or foresight. These politicians have spent two decades pretending that “wind and sun” can replace gas, coal, and nuclear without cost.
The result is national vulnerability: rising prices, rolling blackouts, and supply chain uncertainty. While other countries secure reliable energy, Britain groans under utopian schemes and arrogant global targets. But coal, gas and oil are in the ground by the grace of God:
Mr Tice says has written to wind farm developers warning them that a future Reform government will refuse to continue the green subsidy bonanza. He is prepared to renegotiate contracts, cut off the “green blob,” and save ordinary families up to £1,000 a year by 2030.
The Bible shows that leaders are put in place to enact godly policies which allow the people to flourish, not to oppress or impoverish the people:
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
We call upon Christians to pray for the Lord to raise up leaders with courage to fear God more than activists, and to restore biblical justice in public policy, including taxation.
The green gods of this age promise peace—but they bring only poverty. The answer lies not in windmills but in wisdom. But that will need humility from those in authority:
Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Georgia’s Parliament insisted on passing a ‘Foreign Agents’ Law despite its president and all the foreign agencies objecting.
The new legislation will see that media outlets and non-governmental organisations who receive over 20% funding abroad are asked to declare such funds as support from ‘foreign agents’.
During a plenary session on Monday, the legislation passed with 84 votes in favour, primarily from the governing Georgian Dream party—and four votes against, while the opposition abstained.
That evening, thousands of Georgians protested outside parliament, many waving Georgian and EU flags.
The law had already been passed on 14 May, but was then vetoed by pro-Western President Salome Zourabishvili.
The Georgia ‘foreign agents’ bill
The Georgia ‘foreign agents’ bill is a new law that requires media outlets and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) receiving more than 20% of their funding from foreign sources to register as ‘organisations acting in the interest of a foreign power.’ These organisations must also undergo detailed audits and face hefty fines if they do not comply.
The bill was passed by the Georgian parliament with strong support from the ruling Georgian Dream party, while the opposition largely abstained from voting.
The legislation has led to significant public protests, with many a expressing concerns that it will restrict freedom of speech and hinder the work of NGOs. Protesters have demonstrated outside the parliament, waving Georgian and European Union flags in opposition to the law.
Bill to limit free speech before parliamentary elections?
Georgia’s president Salome Zourabichvili, vetoed the bill. She accused the Governing party of putting the country’s future at risk and blocking its progress toward becoming a full member of the free and democratic world.
The government argues the law is necessary to stop harmful foreign influences from destabilising Georgia, a country with 3.7 million people. However, many Georgian journalists and activists claim that the real purpose of the bill is to label them negatively and limit free speech before the parliamentary elections in October.
Countries with ‘foreign agent’ law
Various countries have implemented laws to monitor organisations and individuals receiving foreign funding.
In Russia, the foreign agent law, enacted in 2012, requires such entities to register as ‘foreign agents’ and disclose detailed financial reports.
Kyrgyzstan passed a similar law in 2019, but critics argue its impact on civil society. Additionally, the United States has the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) since 1938.
Similarly, Hungary enacted a law in 2017 requiring NGOs receiving over 20% of funding from abroad to register, while Israel’s Foreign Funding Law targets NGOs receiving over 50% of funding from foreign governments, and India has the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) regulating foreign contributions by NGOs and entities.
Russia arrests foreign agents
Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov may be charged by Russian authorities for violating the Kremlin’s ‘foreign agent’ law,reports TASS news agency.
The former world champion is accused of ‘heading a terrorist society, funding terrorist activity and justifying it publicly’.
The city court in Syktyvkar, the largest city in Russia’s northwestern Komi region, has issued in absentia arrest warrants for world chess champion Garry Kasparov, former State Duma member Gennady Gudkov, Ivan Tyutrin (co-founder of the Free Russia Forum, which is designated as an undesirable organisation in Russia), and former environmental activist Yevgenia Chirikova.
All of them have been recognised as foreign agents in Russia.
Threats to civil society?
International human rights organisations, civil society groups, and election observers are urging European and national leaders to promptly address the Georgian ‘transparency law’. They have claimed it is an attempt to crackdown on civil society as the country approaches its General Elections in October.
Since April 15th Georgians have been rallying in protest against the ‘Transparency of Foreign Influence’ law, which bears striking resemblance to the Russian ‘Foreign Agent Law’. Opponents say this law threatens to equip the government with tools to suppress civil society and independent media, derailing Georgia from its democratic path towards EU integration.
Georgia and Kyrgyzstan are following Russia’s path by passing laws that target organisations getting foreign funding.
In Kyrgyzstan,critics also claim President Japarov is making things tough for civil soceity and media. Groups with foreign money are closely monitored.
Bad news for civil society?
Critics have claimed that these laws are a tool for vilification. ‘In many countries, civil society groups and independent media struggle to sustain themselves on domestic funding.
‘Resources tend to be particularly constrained where civic space is heavily restricted – as in Kyrgyzstan – and government bodies channel domestic support to organisations aligned with or uncritical of the state. That’s why civil society often turns to international sources, including donor agencies, philanthropic foundations and multilateral bodies. But receiving foreign funding isn’t the same as agreeing to represent donors’ interests.
‘Those pushing foreign agents laws often argue civil society must be regulated so it doesn’t misuse resources. But wherever such laws have been introduced, civil society groups and independent media have already been subject to legislation and regulations on matters such as registration, reporting and accounting, often to an excessive and intrusive extent.’
Africa and the transparency law
In light of recent foreign agent laws implemented by various countries, Christian Voice is calling on African nations to follow suit and enact similar transparency legislation. These laws would require organisations receiving foreign funding to disclose their sources and intentions, providing insight into which countries might be promoting the LGBTQ agenda within Africa.
Recent years have seen a wave of foreign agent laws globally, from Russia and Kyrgyzstan to Georgia and other countries.
Christian Voice believes that adopting similar laws in Africa is essential for safeguarding cultural and societal norms.
Further, transparency laws would not only identify foreign influence but also empower African nations to take control of their cultural and moral narratives. By knowing the origins of funding and the intentions behind it, governments and citizens alike can make informed decisions about the presence and impact of external ideologies.
Christian Voice emphasises that this call to action is not about stifling freedom of expression but about maintaining sovereignty and cultural integrity. The organisation urges African leaders to consider the benefits of such legislation in promoting transparency and protecting societal values.

We’ll speak of biblical economics and find wisdom in both the Bible and some lyrics of Johnny Cash.
Not just the three women I’ve mentioned, but thousands of young aspiring statist organisers and campaigners are supported by NEON across the UK.
They’ve been through NEON’s Networking, Media, Global Messaging or Press Officer Training programmes or Workshops on Transformative Organising. NEON is actively building networks of its latest recruits to the UK’s sprawling elite blob.

This NEON has apparently been ‘given birth’, their expression, by the New Economics Foundation. And would you believe it, Miatta Fahnbulleh MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at Ed Miliband’s Department of Energy Insecurity and Net Zero Fanaticism, was previously Chief Executive of the New Economics Foundation.
She’s a member of SERA – Labour’s Environment Campaign, and on a Government page she tells us ‘a family member works for Renewables UK.’ Are you surprised? She supports the World Economic Forum and its Green New Deal.
Miatta might well have come with her family as a refugee from Liberia, but without a shadow of a doubt, she is now an insiders’ insider.

The Oak Foundation, started by British billionaire Alan Parker, funds NEON as well as the pro-gay pro-trans Astraea Lesbian Foundation in the US, Human Dignity Trust and above all, OutRight Action. Oak supports countless initiatives to legalise sodomy and transgenderism across the developing world.
NEON patron The William & Flora Hewlett Foundation has also given $1.5 million to International Planned Parenthood, the world’s leading abortionist, as well as grants for ‘Queer Studies’.
In 2023, NEON patron the Paul Hamlyn Foundation was actually ahead of Oak Foundation, but behind the UK Government, the Scottish Government, Children in Need, the Arts Council and the National Lottery in a list of UK organisations who splashed money to LGBT groups. Paul Hamlyn gave NEON £50,000, but £775,000 to LGBT causes.
The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust gave NEON £85,000 and LGBT groups £400,000 in the same year.
Well, they can run on for a long time, as Johnny Cash sang, but sooner or later: Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Psa 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
New Economics
Both NEF and NEON campaign for ‘A new social settlement’, which ‘will ensure people are paid well, have more time off to spend with their families, and have access to the things we all need for a decent life’.
A Marxist utopian dream like that would cost you and every other taxpayer a lot of money. It’s a counterfeit of the Biblical millennial vision: Micah 4:4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
You need to be very afraid of the WEF’s ‘Green New Deal’, which NEF and NEON say will ‘reduce the carbon we emit and massively boost nature, while creating a new generation of jobs’.
Do they know they are lying? They must do. The Bible says: Psa 101:7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
net Zero is destroying the environment
Here is the truth: The Net Zero fantasy is currently destroying the environment. Look at the prime forests being cut down to provide wood chip for the Drax power station, or the devastation which mining for cobalt and lithium for batteries is causing.
Meanwhile, Green New Deal is destroying British jobs and whole industries together with our food and energy security and our defence capabilities. So, of course, is the current unfettered illegal immigration by young Muslim men of fighting age so loved by the likes of NEON’s Zoe Gardner.
NEON also want a ‘democratic economy’ to devolve state power and transform ownership of the economy to give us all an equal stake in the places where we live and work’.
I don’t know what they think ‘the economy’ is. But the economy is not a mystery. It is inherently democratic, if governments would only keep their state-controlling fingers out of it. The landowner in the Lord’s parable articulated a biblical principle which strikes down mandates for electric cars and heat pumps: Matt 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?
The truth about ‘the market’
The market is, or should be, people freely buying and selling goods and services.
That’s the Biblical understanding existing from the dawn of time, even in Sodom during the days of Lot, so the Lord Jesus taught: Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
The Lord uses so many metaphors about buying and selling, and he famously overturned the tables of the corrupt cartels fleecing the people in the temple in Jerusalem.
NEON claim the economy has been ‘redesigned over the past 40 years in favour of the market rather than people and planet.’ It’s nonsense. Even if it were true, our Lord is in favour of honest open markets where people are free to do what they wish with their money.
They idea that the economy should be subservient to ‘the planet’ and that a transparent market place does not favour the people and must be ‘redesigned’ is sounding like state control to me.
State Control and Fascism
And the Bible tells us that is the elite’s plan: Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
That’s fascism and it comes with NEON’s added ingredients of ‘climate justice’, that’ll be Net Zero, ‘anti-racism’, which means Black Livcs Matter and ‘critical race theory’ and unfettered immigration, both despising and attacking our Christian heritage at the same time.

Please pray into this, pray for a change of heart for Miatta, and pray the Lord will raise up a leader, an able, God-fearing, honest man of truth, to root out these antichristian elites and proclaim the Kingship of Jesus Christ and our Christian Constitution.

I thought it would be good to look at the last day and the funeral of the late Pope Francis and see if we can bring scripture to bear on some of the views expressed both by him and at his funeral.
Morality and internal security
You might ask: ‘What is an organisation which supports the Protestant settlement of the United Kingdom doing commenting on Roman Catholicism?’
Well, I suggest that what the leader of the world’s one point four billion Catholics says matters. It has an effect on both the cultural and spiritual environment.
I’m not talking about internal doctrine. I could go there, but I’m focussing here on matters of morality and internal security.
‘Build bridges, not walls’
Cardinal Battista Re
It’s all very well for Cardinal Battista Re to tell mourners at Pope Francis’s funeral to “build bridges, not walls”, echoing the late pope’s own words.
But that exhortation would give rise to fewer accusations of hypocrisy were the Vatican itself not surrounded by a very big wall.
The Pope’s Swiss Guards are not known for welcoming in migrants to bed down for the night.
So if the Vatican does not want to let in any old Ahmed, Abdullah or Mohammed, why should the rest of us do so?
On Easter Day, hours before his death, the late pontiff said: “On this day, I would like all of us to hope anew and to revive our trust in others, including those who are different from ourselves, or who come from distant lands, bringing unfamiliar customs, ways of life and ideas – for all of us are children of God.”
Well, we may all be made in the image of God, but I read in the Apostle Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians in chapter two, that unbelievers are not the children of God but the children of wrath: Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
And in chapter five that they are the children of disobedience. Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Writing to the Galatians, he explains: Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Faith in Christ Jesus

Faith in Christ Jesus, the pre-condition of being ‘children of God’, is not an open characteristic of the Muslim immigrants swarming in to Europe and crossing the English Channel.
They certainly are ‘bringing unfamiliar customs, ways of life and ideas.’ Not half they are.
Customs such as antisemitism and contempt for non-Muslims, all of which is written into the Mohammedan religion. I don’t think much of their idea that poor indigenous girls in care are easy meat for their sexual depravity either.
On top of that, they are working, migrating and increasing in order to replace our Christian constitution with an Islamic one.
King Charles gives his Easter message
In Bible times, those who snuck in to a country intending to overturn its religion, and with that its laws, did not last long: 2Chron 15:13 That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
The comments of King Charles at Easter suggest he, like most of the Establishment, simply doesn’t get it and urgently needs your prayer. Celebrating Islamic festivals in our Cathedrals? The BBC promoting Islam at Easter? Our elite have a death-wish.
’Marginalised and migrants’
“How much contempt is stirred up at times towards the vulnerable, the marginalised, and migrants,” the late Pope wrote. By ‘vulnerable’ and ‘marginalised’, I understand he meant those of an LGBT disposition, those who according to the Bible need repentance of wicked activities and vile affections:
1Cor 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
In fact his big mistake is to start with the pastoral, not with God’s righteous laws. You can temper justice with mercy, but start with mercy and justice won’t get a look-in.

Psalm 89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
And then to equate ‘migrants’ with these alleged vulnerable and marginalised folk who appear to run all our British institutions and quangos is beyond.
Funnily enough, pro-gay, pro-trans and pro-migrant are also articles of faith at the World Economic Forum, the WEF, in Davos. It is hard to escape the conclusion that Francis was the globalists’ pope.
Cardinals will meet
The Cardinals will now meet to elect a successor. As I maintain, this matters. What the pope says affects us all. Pray for his successor, who is a mere man like the rest of us, to seek the Lord in his word and stand for the family, for righteousness, for Christianity.
I’m sure you will tell me in the comments whether that is too big a prayer for our miracle-working God. But be polite. We don’t diss dignitaries here, we pray for them.

A new investigation by the Telegraph. has revealed that ordinary citizens are still being prosecuted for alleged Covid regulation breaches, years after pandemic restrictions were officially lifted.
The findings have raised fresh concerns about the enduring legacy of emergency powers and what Christian Voice describe as continued authoritarian overreach.
According to the report, more than 130 people have appeared in court over the past six months for infractions tied to outdated Covid rules—many of which were unclear or inconsistently enforced at the time.
This relentless pursuit of individuals for minor infractions underscores a government more interested in control than justice.
Isaiah 10:1 Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees.
One of those fined exorbitantly for a simple misunderstanding of convoluted regulations was Dodi Wexler, 55, an American expat who has lived in the UK for the past 25 years.
In December 2020, Mrs. Wexler and her three teenage sons travelled to Massachusetts for what was meant to be a brief Christmas holiday. However, their return was unexpectedly halted when the UK entered its third national lockdown in January 2021, effectively trapping the family abroad.
It wasn’t until March, after the easing of restrictions, that they were finally able to make their way back to the UK—having tested negative for Covid-19 via PCR tests conducted on February 26th in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
The judiciary, rather than serving as a bulwark against tyranny, appears complicit in perpetuating these injustices.
With an average of 11 people still being sentenced monthly for coronavirus offences well into 2024, the courts have become instruments of state-sanctioned persecution.
This perversion of justice betrays a fundamental abandonment of moral and ethical principles.
Psalm 9:16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been exploited to propagate fear and manipulate the populace into compliance.
Government narratives, amplified by complicit media, have sown division and suppressed dissenting voices. This deception has led to widespread acceptance of draconian measures under the guise of public health.
Matthew 24:24For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
Shockingly, some religious leaders have aligned themselves with oppressive state mandates, betraying their sacred duty to uphold truth and protect their congregations.
Figures like the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby have framed vaccination as a moral imperative, coercing the faithful into compliance and stifling legitimate ethical and theological debate.
The Erosion of Civil Liberties
The introduction and enforcement of vaccine passports and mandates represent a significant erosion of civil liberties.
These measures create a two-tier society, discriminating against those who exercise their right to bodily autonomy. Such coercive tactics are antithetical to the principles of freedom and equality.
The Bible says, Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
In the face of such pervasive injustice and deception, there is a clarion call for righteous resistance. Christians are compelled to stand against tyranny, advocate for truth, and protect the vulnerable from exploitation.
Ephesians 5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
The Unjust Targeting of Faithful Christians.
The prolonged legal actions against individuals for alleged Covid rule breaches have disproportionately affected Christians who sought to practice their faith.
This selective enforcement reveals a troubling bias against religious communities, undermining the principles of justice and equality.
Meanwhile, the introduction of vaccine passports has raised significant ethical concerns, particularly among Christians who view them as a form of discrimination and control. These measures not only infringe upon personal liberties but also create a divided society, contradicting the Biblical call for unity and love among neighbours.
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
The Suppression of Dissenting Voices
Media regulators have penalised Christian broadcasters for disseminating content that questions mainstream narratives.
For instance, LoveWorld was fined £25,000 by Ofcom for airing content that questioned mainstream narratives.
This suppression of dissenting voices stifles free speech and undermines the pursuit of truth, which is central to Christian teaching.
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. — Ephesians 5:11
In the meantime, climate of fear during the pandemic has been exploited by political leaders to advance agendas that do not align with Christian values. For example, Jacinda Ardern’s stringent policies and subsequent recognition by the British monarchy raise questions about the motivations behind such honours and the potential for political opportunism.
The Bible says, Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.
The Church’s Role in Upholding Truth
The alignment of some church leaders with state narratives, such as the Archbishop of Canterbury labelling vaccination as a “moral issue,” raises concerns about the church’s independence and commitment to biblical truth. The church must critically assess its role and ensure it remains a beacon of truth and righteousness.
As the book of Matthew 6:24 says, No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
As believers, it is imperative to critically assess the narratives presented to us and stand firm in our convictions. The coercive measures and prolonged prosecutions related to Covid-19 challenge our commitment to justice, freedom, and truth. We must navigate these times with discernment, ensuring that our actions reflect our faith and the teachings of Christ.

Boris Johnson announces lockdown on 23rd March 2025
This week marks the fifth anniversary of the infamous UK Covid ‘Lockdown’.
Then Prime Minister Boris Johnson made his fateful announcement on Monday 23rd March 2025. The measures, to ‘Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives,’ had been voluntary for the previous week. Now they were to be enforced by the Coronavirus Act 2020, which gained Royal Assent on 25th March and came into force on Thursday 26th. (See this timeline.)
Professor Neil Ferguson had published his computer modelling a week earlier, predicting ‘hundreds of thousands of deaths’. Despite his history of false prophecies, the mainstream media were now calling for ‘something to be done’. Following the politician’s fallacy, lockdown was ‘something’, therefore, they felt obliged to do it.
As Christian Voice reported just two weeks later, ‘the entire travel, leisure, hospitality, High Street and educational sectors (were) shut down, with knock-on effects all over the United Kingdom.’ Churches duly followed, with the meeting together, especially in times of trouble, as commended by scripture abandoned by terrified bishops of the Church of England:
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Some pastors courageously fought back. Nationally, Christian Voice was the only Christian ministry to oppose lockdown right from the start. From the second week, with the Lord’s leading, we were urging ‘the immediate lifting of the lockdown so that people can salvage the wreckage of their jobs and businesses and get back to providing for their families.’
Who is proved right now?

That stance was not popular, even amongst supposed believers. I had church ministers phoning me up and telling me we were doing the devil’s work by condemning lockdown, which they saw as a perfectly legitimate public-health measure.
Who is proved right now? The UK was plunged into our worst recession since the Great Frost of 1709. And even without the benefit of hindsight, was lockdown ever reasonable or legitimate? Telling people not to go outdoors? Authoritarian police in Brighton clearing people off the beach? Derbyshire police employing drones to check no ‘Covidiot’ was out and about on the fells of the Peak District?
The adverse health and social effects of lack of exercise and socialisation, of depressed immune systems, of missed hospital appointments and screenings for disease, all enforced enthusiastically by the establishment, with stricter measures in schools called for out of sheer self interest by teachers’ unions, for example, will be felt for years.
Lockdown happened because our politicians, officials and church leaders left off to take heed to the Lord. Remember, wisdom comes from above. Stupidity comes from the world, the flesh or the devil, or as judgment.
If they had consulted the Lord in his word, our elites would have found in two places in the book of Ecclesiastes that to eat and drink and enjoy the good of your labour, indeed to rejoice in it, was the gift of God:
Eccl 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
Eccl 5:19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
In the psalms they would have read that: Psa 104:23 Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
Businesses designated ‘non-essential’
So they would have concluded, as we did, that what Almighty God has ordained, and described as his gift, the ability to work and enjoy the fruits of your labour, no government on earth has the power to forbid.
Indeed, no government in the history of the world had ever before done such a thing. They have subjected people to slavery, but never before had they told their people not to work and paid them billions from taxpayers’ money and government borrowing to stay at home and do nothing.
We wrote at the time: ‘The millions affected do not want tax-payer-funded bail-outs. They want their jobs and businesses back.’
As for designating some economic activity as non-essential, how did they dare do that? The billion-pound beauty industry, laughed at by MPs when William Wragg asked a question about it in Parliament on 1st July 2020, is and was essential both for the families of beauticians and for hairdressers, and for the ladies who would go every week to have their hair done.
The clothing industry was essential for thousands of families in the developing world who made clothes for the likes of Primark. Both, indeed all the so-called non-essential businesses, were legitimate economic activity.
The Covid briefings were part of ‘Project Fear’ to instill compliance
I could go on to remind you of the elderly people locked up in care homes, forbidden to see their nearest and dearest. The complete idiocy of the police scouring shopping trolleys to check no-one had bought an Easter egg. Or taking a homeless man to court for leaving his home.
Then, as lockdown went on, Project Fear stepped up and we had the enforced wearing of ineffective, oppressive, dehumanising facemasks. The ludicrous and widespread use, even to this day, of anti-bacterial hand-sanitisers against an airborne virus. Even in church, believers forgot the words of the Lord:
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
And of course, huge pharmaceutical companies seized the opportunity to make billions out of useless pseudo-vaccines imposed on those who were at next to no risk from the Covid anyway. And of course, the bodies set up to regulate them being stuffed with industry insiders and shareholders.

No ‘Reckoning’ without a miracle
An article on Spiked Online from their deputy editor, Fraser Myers, is headed: ‘Lockdown: a reckoning’, but the truth is, there will be no reckoning without a miracle of repentance among our entire elite.
The UK’s Covid Enquiry has shut down any discussion of whether lockdown was a reasonable response to the Covid, only arguing over whether it was strict enough, or brought in early enough. The Enquiry refused to discuss, let alone affirm, the first-dismissed and now-accepted conclusion that the virus was genetically engineered in and then escaped from, Wuhan’s Institute of Virology.
Five years ago, a stupid, frightened, arrogant Government oppressed the population by denying folk the ability to earn and the freedom to go out of doors, contrary to scripture:.
Lev 25:17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.
They deprived men and women of their wages, a sin which cries to heaven:
James 5:4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
New York State Supreme Courthouse: Good government depends on justice
Above all, they brought in measures which were clearly unjust but which were embraced by the godless media, accepted by a fearful people and enforced by the police and the courts with power-hungry enthusiasm.
The Bible says of God: Psa 89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Human government is intended by the Almighty to follow that principle. There is a spiritual dimension to justice. The New York courthouse features a quote by George Washington, saying: ‘the due administration of justice is the firmest pillar of good government’.
Justice flew out of the window five years ago and good government followed it. We shall be paying for it, and without a miracle feeling the effects in society of it, for generations to come. The lesson to be learned is that we must do things God’s way. That requires us to pray for those who lead us, constantly witness to them, and hope in faith for a miracle of repentance in them.

US Vice-President J D Vance tells Europe's self-satisfied elite some home truths.

On Saturday 15th February, 2025, US Vice-President, J D Vance, gave a twenty-minute speech to assembled European dignitaries at the Munich Security Conference.
Of course the conference was already ablaze with outrage that President Donald Trump had called Russia’s President Putin and started negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine.
Euro-leaders shut down dissent
US Vice-President J D Vance tells Europe’s self-satisfied elite some home truths.
But J D Vance did not concentrate on that. He hardly mentioned it. His focus was to denounce his audience for shutting down domestic dissent, and to ask them what values they were defending.
For the BBC’s Security Correspondent Frank Gardner it was ‘a blistering attack decrying misinformation, disinformation, and the rights of free speech.’ He meant ‘upholding the rights of free speech’. I think Frank had lost his composure a bit.
He described the JDV speech as ‘a very weird 20 minutes – one met largely with silence from delegates in the hall.’ Indeed it was. Not just did the ‘speech go down very badly – unequivocally badly’, But ‘It was extraordinarily poorly judged,’ according to the affronted man from the BBC.
However, for Brendan O’Neill for Spiked Online, it ‘was a joy to watch’, ‘a delicious spectacle’, seeing ‘A Yank from dirt-poor origins sticking it to Europe’s turbo-smug ruling class’.
I’ve taken out some things you might find informative, even scriptural, from it. Well, it’s no secret that the new US administration ‘does God’, just as Tony Blair’s, according to his spin doctor Alistair Campbell, did not.
Nor, for that matter, do our present crop of UK politicians, even, I must venture, a great many who profess Christ. By ‘Do God’ I mean acknowledge that Jesus, the King of kings, is sovereign in the national affairs of men. Above all, to see faith in the Lord of life as more than a mere personal matter.
This may be a longer video than we normally post, but we’ll be going behind the scenes and drawing encouragement for those who pray and for those who recognise that there is indeed a spiritual dimension to our life here on earth. Sign our ‘Doing God’ petition:
It did not take long for the Vice-President to remind, in his own words: ‘all of us who have been fortunate enough to be given political power by our respective peoples, to use it wisely—to improve their lives.’
That is scriptural. Remember from the book of Romans, where the Apostle Paul is discussing the civil ruler? He writes: Rom 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good.
Rulers, according to the Bible, are not there to impoverish their people, as the climate fanatics seem to think, but to create an environment in which we can prosper.
Threat from within
EU Leaders need to repent.
Bearing in mind this was a security conference, Mr Vance went on:
‘the threat that I worry most about for Europe is not Russia. It’s not China. It’s not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within—the retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values, values that are shared with the United States of America.
‘I was struck that a former European commissioner went on television recently and sounded delighted that the Romanian government had just annulled an entire election. He warned that if things don’t go to plan, the very same thing could happen in Germany too.’
It was the Romanian constitutional court, as it happens, but Mr Vance regards the courts, correctly, you might say, as an arm of government.
Defence of Democracy
Mr Vance went on to point out that today: ‘Everything—from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship—is billed as a defence of democracy.’
Well even in the US, some claimed to be ‘defending democracy’ by trying to use the courts to stop Donald Trump from contesting the presidential elections.
And when the European elites use anti-democratic means to prevent the wrong people from participating in the democratic system, that too is ‘defending democracy’.
Because ‘Defending Democracy’ actually means, ‘Keeping us in power’.
The V-P reminded those present about the Cold War: ‘Consider the side in that fight that censored dissidents, closed churches, and canceled elections. Were they the good guys? Certainly not.’
’Shut down Social Media’
He went on to draw uncomfortable parallels between the old Soviet Union and today’s European leaders: ‘I look to Brussels, where EU commissars warn citizens that they intend to shut down social media during times of civil unrest, the moment they spot what they’ve judged to be “hateful content.”
‘Or to this very country (Germany), where police have carried out raids against citizens suspected of posting anti-feminist comments online, as part of “Combating Misogyny on the Internet: A Day of Action.”
‘I look to Sweden, where two weeks ago, the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in Quran burnings that resulted in his friend’s murder.’
The penalty imposed on Salwan Najem was a fine. His friend, Salwan Momika, was murdered by Muslim vigilantes just weeks previously. Either way, in Sweden, burning the Koran means consequences. Swedish judges have imposed an Islamic blasphemy law.
’Tolerant Country’
Stephen Green was convicted for standing outside Marie Stopes abortion facility in Ealing on 6th February 2023 .
As they have done in the United Kingdom, where one Martin Frost has now been convicted after a similar activity in Manchester.
‘This is a tolerant country, but we just do not tolerate this behaviour,’ said Judge Margaret McCormack in that case, apparently with a straight face.
And indeed, it was to the UK where J D Vance next turned his attention: ‘And perhaps most concerningly, I look to our very dear friends, the United Kingdom, where the backslide away from conscience rights has placed the basic liberties of religious Britain in the crosshairs. A little over two years ago, the British government charged Adam Smith-Connor, a 51-year-old physiotherapist and army veteran, with the heinous crime of standing 50 meters from an abortion clinic and silently praying for three minutes.
‘Not obstructing anyone. Not interacting with anyone. Just silently praying on his own. … Adam was found guilty of breaking the government’s new “buffer zone” law, which criminalizes silent prayer and other actions that could influence a person’s decision within 200 meters of an abortion facility.’
I too have been convicted of a buffer zone offence, for standing outside an abortion facility displaying a Bible verse. Neither obstructing nor interacting with anyone, just like Adam. And just like him, I have been, as J D Vance put it: ‘… sentenced to pay thousands of pounds in legal costs to the prosecution.’
Mr Vance went on: ‘To many of us on the other side of the Atlantic, it looks more and more like old, entrenched interests hiding behind ugly, Soviet-era words like misinformation and disinformation, who simply don’t like the idea that somebody with an alternative viewpoint might express a different opinion, or, God forbid, vote a different way—or even worse, win an election.’
He went on to ask what is their vision: ‘I’ve heard a lot about what you need to defend yourselves from, and of course, that’s important. ‘But what has seemed a little bit less clear to me, and certainly, I think, to many of the citizens of Europe, is what exactly it is that you’re defending yourselves for. What is the positive vision that animates this shared security compact that we all believe is so important?’
Keep themselves in power
It’s a good question. And I think the answer is their vision lies in keeping themselves in office, whilst advancing today’s secularist sacred cows, things which stupidly attack the Christian faith upon which their entire civilisation is built, ideas like sodomy, abortion, depravity, divorce and family breakdown, multiculturalism.
I think the new US administration even sees the European elite’s climate fanaticism as an example of what amounts to a cultural death wish. Sign our Petition:
As for multiculturalism being part of their death wish, how else, except from a spiritual perspective, do you explain their policy of opening the doors to Muslims, whose religion has supplanting the Christian foundation of their target societies with Islamism as an article of faith?
’nothing more urgent than mass migration’

The Vice-President certainly sees it like that: ‘I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration. Today, almost one in five people living in this country moved here from abroad. … The number of immigrants who entered the EU from non-EU countries doubled between 2021 and 2022 alone. And, of course, it’s gotten much higher since. And we know—the situation didn’t materialize in a vacuum.
‘It’s the result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent, and others across the world, over the span of a decade. We saw the horrors wrought by these decisions yesterday, in this very city. And, of course, I can’t bring it up again without thinking about the terrible victims—who had a beautiful winter day in Munich ruined.’
‘An asylum seeker, often a young man in his mid-20s, already known to police, rams a car into a crowd and shatters a community.’
As Vice-President Vance was speaking, a 23-year-old Syrian asylum seeker murdered a 14-year-old boy and wounded five others in an Islamist knife attack in Austria.
What did we vote for?
‘No voter on this continent went to the ballot box to open the floodgates to millions of unvetted immigrants.’
‘But you know what they did vote for? In England, they voted for Brexit. And, agree or disagree, they voted for it. And more and more, all over Europe, they’re voting for political leaders who promise to put an end to out-of-control migration. …
‘I just think that people care about their homes. They care about their dreams. They care about their safety and their capacity to provide for themselves and their children.’
Going further, he took aim at the elitist World Economic Forum, where King Charles has hob-nobbed with Klaus Schwab, Prince William launched his Earthshot Prize, where Justin Trudeau, Jacinda Ardern and the current secretary general of NATO, former Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte, emerged from the Young Global Leaders programme, and where ordinary people are envisaged as owning nothing and being happy:
‘Contrary to what you might hear a couple mountains over in Davos, the citizens of all of our nations don’t generally think of themselves as educated animals or as interchangeable cogs of a global economy.’
’Sacred Principle’
Moses. brings the Ten Commandments for the people to ratify
It might have come as a shock to those assembled, and to some of our judges, but the US Vice-President regards the thoughts and concerns of ordinary people as valid and worthy of consideration. ‘Democracy rests on the sacred principle that the voice of the people matters. There’s no room for firewalls. You either uphold the principle, or you don’t. Europeans—the people—have a voice.’
The ‘firewalls’ refers to the German elite ostracising the elected members of the AfD, of course. But does democracy rest on a ‘sacred principle’? I think it does. The people have to give their assent to those who rule.
When Moses brought the words of the Covenant given by the Almighty down from Mount Sinai, we read it was essential that it was ratified by the people. Three times in the book of Exodus, in chapter nineteen and twice in chapter twenty-four, we read of the democratic assent of the people, culminating in this:
Exod 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.
Fear not
J D Vance finished by quoting the late Pope John Paul II, a prominent supporter of democracy in his native Poland, who once said: ‘“Do not be afraid.”
‘We shouldn’t be afraid of our people, even when they express views that disagree with their leadership.’
It was the Lord Jesus who said ‘Fear not’ first, many times, but it is a constant theme in scripture and it depends on faith and love of God: 1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
But actually, the arrogant European elites do have reason to fear their people. They know that the people have had enough of them. They are afraid of losing their positions in elections.
There is one higher than they
They will most likely ignore the witness of Mr Vance, and carry on just the same. Yet scripture says, in Ecclesiastes:
Eccl 5:8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.
Do not be afraid of them, because we have sure promises from the Lord on high. Here is his attitude towards those who deny the rule of King Jesus, from Psalm two and verse four: Psalm 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
How do we know that the arrogant will fall? From, for example, Psalm seventy-six: Psalm 76:12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
From Mary’s Magnificat in Luke chapter one: Luke 1:51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
Luke 1:52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
Which itself is based solidly on the whole witness of scripture, for example, here in psalm one hundred and forty-seven: Psalm 147:6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
’Turbo-smug ruling class’
And that is why the speech of the humble boy from ‘dirt-poor origins’ went down so ‘unequivocally badly’ with ‘Europe’s turbo-smug ruling class’.

The mother of a 22-year-old Just Stop Oil activist who was sentenced to four years in prison has lamented that her daughter will miss her brother’s wedding while incarcerated, The Telegraph reports.
Cressida Gethin, 22, received the sentence alongside Roger Hallam, the co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, and three other activists following a disruptive Just Stop Oil campaign on the M25 in November 2022.
Hallam, 58, was found guilty of conspiring to block traffic and received a record five-year prison sentence. The judge ruled that he had ‘crossed the line from concerned campaigner to fanatic.’
Last week, Gethin and the other activists—Lucia Whittaker De Abreu, 34, Daniel Shaw, 38, and Louise Lancaster, 58—were each sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of conspiring to block traffic on the M25.
Cathy Gethin, the mother of Cressida Gethin, defended her daughter’s actions, stating, ‘Cressida just had to do it because people weren’t listening to her call to stop travel, plastics, fertilisers, and reliable electric power.’
However, we argue that the public was perfectly aware of their views but simply disagreed both with bringing poverty by Net Zero and with what they rightly see as extreme measures.
There were significant disruptions caused by Cressida and her fellow activists when they scaled gantries along the M25 in 2022.
Their actions led to delayed ambulances and caused thousands to miss flights, medical appointments, exams, funerals, and possibly even weddings.
The Bible’s book of Proverbs says,
Prov 29:7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
What is Just Stop Oil?
Just Stop Oil (JSO) advocates for the UK to halt the approval of new fossil fuel projects, citing their significant contribution to climate change.
Despite this, in July 2023, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the granting of 100 new North Sea licences, with additional licences to be awarded annually starting in November.
JSO employs ‘non-violent civil resistance’ and has pledged to cease protests if the government commits to ending fossil fuel production. The group is associated with other environmental organisations, such as Extinction Rebellion , and Insulate Britain.
‘Campaigning to keep the environment safe’?
There are growing concerns from concerned campaigners that Just Stop Oil activists prioritise their environmental agenda over the well-being of people.
The group’s disruptive actions, prioritisation of their cause over people’s immediate needs and livelihoods highlights a lack of empathy and awareness among the activists.
While the idea of environmental conservation is crucial, it should not come at the expense of the everyday lives and prosperity of fellow human beings.
Extinction Rebellion founder Roger Hallam, speaking to the BBC in a recorded message said: ‘The strategic moral imperative is resistance to the greatest ‘crisis’ in the history of humanity’.
Direct action remains ‘the right strategy, he added, confident that while in the short run some people may be deterred, others will only grow more determined.
It begs the question of what Just Stop Oil is planning next?

Germany is expanding its vaccine production at the same time as Bill Gates is funding research to make bird flu infectious to humans, Christian Voice has discovered.
The biotech division of the German firm Wacker has inaugurated a brand-new mRNA production facility in Halle.
According to the company, this facility will have the capacity to manufacture up to 200 million doses of mRNA vaccines per year. The construction of this facility reportedly cost around €100 million.
However, this raises a critical question: 200 million doses of mRNA vaccines for what purpose?
The CEO of Wacker Biotech’s, Christian Hartel said: ‘The opening of our mRNA competence center in Halle is a milestone for WACKER.
‘This is where we will be producing active ingredients for the medicines of tomorrow. Our expertise in making mRNA vaccines will contribute to the fight against future pandemics.’
‘Medicine is making great strides thanks to mRNA technology, which isn’t just confined to vaccines. For instance, this technology gives us an opportunity to offer cancer patients targeted support going forward.’
Our first concern would be that, given the adverse effects of these vaccines, it is surprising to see countries, big pharma and charitable organisations investing so much time and effort into their production and research.

The launching of a new mRNA lab further raises concerns about whether researchers, investors and government organisations are prioritising money over saving lives.
There have been countless reports on the adverse effects of vaccines, yet bigger companies are expanding. What is the catch? Is this a ploy to instil fear in the minds of people a second time?
A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) highlights various side effects associated with COVID-19 vaccines.
Additionally, a report by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has documented adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines, calling for more transparency and rigorous safety assessments. Campaigners are calling to halt vaccine production until more comprehensive safety studies are conducted.
As Bible says, 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Bill & Melinda Gates donates $9.5 million to fund research
It gets worse. The University of Wisconsin-Madison has received a huge grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates (B&MGF) Foundation. The funding is a five-year, $9.5 million grant which the donors claim is to ‘identify virus mutations that would serve as early warnings of potential pandemic influenza viruses’.
But is that all? According to the B&MGF, the grant is intended to fund research aimed at combating infectious diseases. However, our concern is that the money might be used for ‘gain-of-function’ research on bird flu. Gain-of-function research is, let us say, a ‘controversial’ area of study. It aims not just at understanding how viruses can become more transmissible or virulent, but actively making them so..
The lead researcher at UW-Madison, virologist Yoshihiro Kawaoka, named in the B&MGF link above as ‘principal investigator on the project’, was described in an article on Science.org as ‘One of the investigators leading the studies’ in gain-of-function research when the experiments were allowed to resume in 2019. He said: ‘We know that it does carry risks. We also believe it is important work to protect human health’.
Gain-of-function ‘enhancement’ funded by Dr Fauci’s US National Institute of Health (NIH) and carried out in the Wuhan Institute of Virology was what enabled Covid-19 to transmit to humans. But Covid only carried a 1% fatality rate. Bird flu in humans may have a 10% to 50% fatality rate. ‘Irresponsible’ hardly covers what B&MGF and Yoshihiro Kawaoka are doing.
The Bible says, Proverbs 27:12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Concerns about Bill Gates vaccine funding
Senator Rand Paul and philosopher Bert Olivier have both expressed concerns about Bill Gates’ involvement in vaccine production and research.
Senator Paul has been a vocal critic of gain-of-function research and has repeatedly questioned the transparency and safety of such studies. He has raised concerns about Bill Gates’ funding of research programs, including those at institutions like UW-Madison.
Sen. Paul argues that the potential risks of creating more virulent strains of viruses outweigh any benefits and says there needs to be more oversight and accountability in how these funds are being used.
Mark 4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
Birdflu or Avian fear
The avian influenza A (H5N1)
Scientists claim they have identified a new threat, ‘avian influenza A (H5N1)’, which will ‘take the world back to the need for vaccine conversation’.
They have warned of a deadly pandemic ‘unfolding in slow motion’ and have called for ‘active measures’ to prevent human-to-human transmission. Why would that be necessary?
This warning follows an ongoing avian influenza A (H5N1) outbreak in dairy cows in the US. However, campaigners say this could be an avenue to sell fear. But the fear could be well-founded.
The US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), confirmed in April 2024 what is believed to be the first mammal-to-human transmission of the virus after a person came into contact with presumed infected dairy cows in Texas.
‘Concern, if not outrage’
Bert Olivier, Professor of Philosophy at the University of the Free State says: ‘Although naturally occurring bird flu has not posed a risk to humans in the past, the fact that a person was recently diagnosed with it in Texas, is symptomatic of the fact that the virus has probably mutated, and the question is raised, whether this was done in a laboratory under ‘gain of function’ pretexts.’
In his article, Professor Olivier criticises the influence of powerful figures like Bill Gates in global health initiatives. Prof Olivier questions whether Mr Gates’ involvement prioritises public health or serves more self-interested goals, such as profit or control. He points out that the rapid expansion of vaccine production, especially without fully transparent processes and safety assurances, could be driven by motives other than purely altruistic ones. He says there is ‘reason for concern, if not outrage’.
‘This is because it appears that the research team funded by (who else?) Bill Gates managed to combine a bird flu virus with its swine flu counterpart, and as if this was not already going too far, splicing a human gene segment into this hybrid virus – one that gives the virus the ability to bypass the human immune system. If one considers that the constructed virus is said to have a 10% to 50% mortality rate, it surpasses comprehension that such research was allowed to happen. (Covid’s mortality rate was less than 1%.)’

Pray for the UK at this time and commit the new government into the hands of the Lord.

Batteries thrown in household rubbish bins have led to over 1,200 fires in the waste system in the last 12 months, compared to 700 in 2022, a new research shows.
A survey of local authorities across the UK has also found that 94% of them said that fires caused by lithium-ion batteries in the waste stream were an increasing challenge.
This discovery follows an awareness campaign; ‘Stop Battery Fires campaign’ from Recycle Your Electricals and the National Fire Chiefs Council.
However, battery fire incidents during recycling are also on the rise, raising concerns about the safety and sustainability of electric technologies. As the push for all-electric solutions intensifies, there are even more concerns that the financial burden on consumers and the costs associated with lithium battery instability will be significant.

Those who lead us, on the other hand, are so blinded by their ideology, by their faith, if you will, in absurdities like going all-electric, and in state control and direction, that things for us are going less well.
No-one will admit the crippling financial burden falling on the people while the damage caused by reliance on inherently unstable lithium batteries is costing millions.
So let’s take a look at the recent catalogue of destruction.
Catalogue of destruction
At the end of June 2024, A massive fire broke out at a battery recycling plant in Glasgow, with footage showing flames erupting and toxic smoke filling the sky. This incident followed another fire in April, where Scottish firefighters spent days extinguishing a blaze at a battery recycling plant in Kilwinning, Ayrshire.
Professor Sudipta Roy, a Scots academic, is advocating for better regulations for recycling batteries. However, she acknowledges the inherent dangers, noting that more powerful batteries and the reactive nature of lithium, which combusts when exposed to air, pose significant risks.
Battery fires are not confined to recycling plants. Last month, a fully-functioning electric stairs vehicle caught fire at Heathrow Airport , causing damage to a British Airways plane.
Electric buses and E-Scooters
Electric bus fires have also been an issue. In January 2024, London experienced three electric bus fires within fourteen days. On January 25th, an electric bus caught fire at Putney Garage, forcing twenty workers to flee for their lives. On January 11th, a double-decker bus burst into flames on Wimbledon Hill Road, followed by another electric bus fire in North Woolwich the next day.

Additionally, in March, fire crews were called to Sutton Station , in south London after an e-bike exploded on a platform. The ‘ferocious’ blaze had the potential for ‘tragic consequences,’ according to fire officials, and footage showed people running for their lives. The e-bike, purchased from an online marketplace four months earlier, had shown no apparent issues prior to the incident, which is hardly reassuring.
Only last month, June 2024, a battery explosion on an E-Scooter caused a fire which burnt down no fewer than seven homes in Gosport, Hampshire.
Private buyers are increasingly turning away from electric cars, while the motor industry pleads for more government subsidies to encourage their purchase.
Vauxhall is on the verge of ceasing car production in Britain due to impending fines for exceeding the government’s stringent quotas on petrol and diesel car sales.
The Lord Jesus said: Matt 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?
Not here it isn’t. The Western world has new commandments. Thou shalt heat thy home with an electric heat pump and drive an electric car. And thou shalt believe a lipsticked man in a dress is a woman.
As the Bible records, Lev 19:18 but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
This commandment has been forgotten in the extraction of the minerals and metals need for these batteries. In South America and Zimbabwe, communities have been displaced and landscapes trashed while in the Congo, extraction of cobalt relies on slave labour.
Nor are local people allowed to process the ore. It is all shipped to China. Environmentalists have turned a blind eye and human rights are suspended in the pursuit of Net Zero and carbon reduction, driven by an intense fear of climate change. Christians, however, should see things differently.

Covid vaccines may have contributed to the rise in excess death rates since the start of the pandemic, a new study suggests.
Excess death rates have remained high in the West for three years running since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, finds a data analysis of 47 countries published in the open access journal.
This is despite the implementation of various containment measures and the availability of COVID-19 vaccines, giving rise to ‘serious cause for concern’, say the researchers who are calling on governments and policymakers to thoroughly investigate the link further.
Vrije Universiteit, a public research university in Amsterdam, wrote in a statement: ‘Although COVID-19 vaccines were provided to guard civilians from suffering morbidity and mortality by the covid-19 virus, suspected adverse events have been documented as well.’
More than 13.5 billion doses of Covid vaccines have been administered globally over the past three years.
The largest study carried out in the UK found that of the 40,393, COVID-19 deaths and hospitalisations recorded were 7,180.
Christian Voice has in the past published articles with evidence showing dangers these vaccines have caused to human immune system. Yet, NHS England is urging ‘at-risk’ groups to get vaccinated against COVID-19 this spring.
It also appears from another NHS page that other children, for whom Covid presents negligible risk, might be in the sights of vaccine-makers Moderna and Pfizer.

Amidst damning reports of the effects of vaccines, drug company Moderna says its vaccine which targets two diseases in a single shot, has passed a vital part of final-stage scientific checks.
Moderna claims the phase-three trial of the combined flu and Covid vaccine, ‘arms the body with protective antibodies. Adding that results show it does so as effectively as separate flu and Covid shots’.
Fewer injections would be more convenient and simpler, Moderna says.
Chief executive Stephane Bancel told BBC News he hoped the messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccine could be made widely available in 2026 – or perhaps, 2025.
‘We are very delighted about the results, because it’s the first time in the world that a company is able to show positive phase-three results combining in a single dose flu and Covid vaccine,’ he said.
As Pfizer and BioNTech are testing a similar two-in-one mRNA vaccine ‘against both flu and COVID-19’, it is reasonable to question the rationale behind further testing and production of newer vaccine versions given new findings.

Meanwhile, the funding allocated to COVID-19 vaccine testing and trials for Moderna, Pfizer, and BioNTech has been substantial, involving both direct research investments and supply agreements.
Moderna received approximately $1 billion in research funding from the U.S. government. Additionally, the company secured a $1.525 billion agreement to supply 100 million doses of its vaccine if it succeeded in late-stage testing. This brings Moderna’s total funding and supply agreement to about $2.48 billion according to Fierce Pharma.
Pfizer and BioNTech collectively entered a $1.95 billion deal with the U.S. government for the supply of 100 million doses of their vaccine. Unlike Moderna, Pfizer and BioNTech did not accept federal funding for research and development. However, BioNTech’s overall R&D expenses were projected to be around €2.4 billion to €2.6 billion ($2.6 billion to $2.8 billion) for the year 2023.

The UK general election has sprung a surprise. Nigel Farage has announced he will stand as a candidate for the Reform UK Party in Clacton. He has also taken over the leadership of Reform UK. So let’s look at Mr Farage.
Stand and Fight!
In a press conference yesterday afternoon, he observed being elected would be difficult, but that: ‘If something is difficult, it doesn’t stop you doing it.’ He would rather ‘stand and fight’ than ‘stand aside’. I am reminded of what David’s army general Joab said to his brother Abishai:
2Sam 10:12 Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.
Nigel Farage is certainly a larger-than-life character, and he is a human being, so he is flawed and subject to our human condition. Is he arrogant or merely self-confident? Brashness and directness are not sins, but any of us who want to succeed need humility before the Almighty.
We are going to pray into this, but let’s first remind ourselves of the biblical criteria for leadership. Jethro told Moses:
Exod 18:21a Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people (1) able men, (2) such as fear God, (3) men of truth, (4) hating covetousness;
Well, I suggest to you that Nigel Farage may fulfil the third of Jethro’s criteria. He is straightforward. He answers questions. He seems to be a man of truth.
That’s different from so many of our current politicians. You may regard Kemi Badenoch as a breath of fresh air. But even she could not tell the truth about putting the Port Talbot steelmen out of work.
Covetousness vs ability
Mr Farage appears not to be covetous or out to enrich his pals. So that’s would be a contrast with what happened under the Tories with NHS Personal Protection contracts.
Is he an able man, the first criterion? He’s certainly very good at politics. He’s a gifted orator. He has been, as he says, ‘In this game for thirty years’.
If elected, he may find himself in his customary prophetic and activist role rather than in national leadership. That still needs ability from on high.
But what about the second one, men ‘Such as fear God’? Well, earlier this year he said he had stopped attending church, blaming the Church of England’s ‘surrender’, as he put it, to the ‘woke agenda’. You may be in the same boat. That may even be a God-fearing position.
Some thirteen years ago, he said: ‘you can be Christian and fun or you can be Christian and be puritanical and want to control everybody.’
Of course, Christians don’t have fun, we don’t enjoy things, we are blessed by them. I’ve been really blessed by standing up in public for the Lord Jesus over the years. OK, it’s fun especially when you see the Lord move in power.
But look closely. When this Nigel talked about ‘puritanical’ and wanting ‘to control everybody’ perhaps he was talking prophetically not about Christians but about today’s World Economic Forum influenced political and media establishment.
They were controlling everyone during Covid, and now with Net Zero, and they are nudging you to think as they want you to over transgenderism, racism, geopolitics and climate change, to take just a few obvious examples.
Mr Farage says he is standing up for little people against the elite. Credit where it is due, if he is, and it is hard to discern anyone else doing that, that is a godly position. The psalmist says: Psa 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
Stand for Righteousness with the Holy Spirit
And from the Proverbs: Prov 29:7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
Where do Reform UK stand on abortion, on sex education, on the UK promoting evil abroad? I am not sure we yet know. And where is a whole-hearted proclamation of our Christian constitution?
When you stand, even imperfectly or in part, for righteousness against the godless elite, you are fighting a spiritual battle. You cannot do that with one arm tied behind your back. You need the spiritual dimension. You need the Holy Spirit.
Prayer
So let’s pray: ‘Almighty God, you reign on high. Scripture says you put down rulers and set them up. You both remove and set up kings. You give wisdom to the wise and to the humble. We pray you do not deal with us after our sins, but instead, Lord, revive your work and in wrath remember mercy.
‘Raise up men after your own heart, my Lord, humble men who will seek your face for wisdom and proclaim Jesus as King of kings. Especially lift up and sustain God-fearing Christian candidates.
‘May your kingdom come and may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in our land. For we pray all this from your word in Jesus’s mighty name. Amen.’

The push for net zero threatens jobs and endangers pedestrian safety, according to reports.
Labour and Unite are at loggerheads over North sea oil policy. Battles between unions and Labour governments are nothing new, but could a Starmer administration face a surprising union rebellion?
In a largely under-reported move in England, the union Unite has launched the ‘No Ban Without a Plan’ campaign against Labour’s policy of refusing new oil and gas extraction licenses in the North Sea.
The campaign demands that Labour suspend this policy. If successful, it would mean a future Labour government, like the Conservatives, would continue granting new licenses until it creates at least 35,000 new ‘energy transition jobs’ in Scotland, matching the current number of oil industry roles.
According to Unite, the goal is to persuade a future Labour government to abandon its planned ban on new oil and gas exploration licenses in the North Sea until a genuine program for a just transition of work is in place.
The General Secretary of Unite, Sharon Graham has accused Keir Starmer of following a policy which would allow Britain to ‘be held to ransom by Saudi Arabia or other nations’ and adds:
‘Labour needs to pull back from this irresponsible policy. There is clearly no viable plan for the replacement of North Sea jobs or energy security… Unite will not stand by and let workers be thrown on the scrapheap. North Sea workers cannot be sacrificed on the altar of net zero’.
The union believes that Labour’s current plan to ban all future licences in the North Sea is premature and irresponsible, as there is currently no viable strategy for alternative commensurate green jobs for North Sea workers.
Opposition to Labour’s environmental policy is often assumed to come primarily from the right, including the Conservative right and Reform. Labour typically dismisses critics of net zero measures as outdated. However, the Unite campaign shatters this assumption, revealing growing unrest among workers in the oil and gas sector. These workers are increasingly concerned about job losses and sceptical of the unfulfilled promise of ‘green jobs’ to replace those in fossil fuels.

The North Sea Transition Deal is an agreement between industry and government to deliver an orderly energy transition.
Through the deal, the oil and gas sector, largely based in Scotland and the North East, government and trade unions will work together over the next decade and beyond to deliver the skills, innovation and new infrastructure required to decarbonise North Sea production.
The government claims that ‘Not only will the deal support existing companies to decarbonise in preparation for a net zero future by 2050, but it will also create the right business environment to attract new industrial sectors to base themselves in the UK, develop new export opportunities for British business, and secure new high-value jobs for the long-term’.

Job losses
According to Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the number of jobs in the oil and gas sector has declined significantly over the past decade, dropping from 117,900 to 74,100. During the same period, employment in Scotland’s low carbon and renewables sector has seen only modest growth, increasing from 23,200 to 25,700 jobs.
OEUK Chief Executive David Whitehouse said: ‘Labour either can’t do the maths or haven’t considered the alarming jobs impact that will be felt up and down the country. With no new investment, 42,000 jobs will go, and we could start to see the effects as early as this year. These are not faceless numbers but decent, hardworking people working across the UK to provide the energy we will need today and in the future.
‘The impact of no new investment will be felt across the whole economy – today we estimate the UK will lose £26 billion of economic value. It will undermine the very industry which can and must play a critical role in delivering a homegrown energy transition.
Meanwhile,Unite’s campaign is particularly pertinent in Scotland, where the Labour Party aims to capitalise on the SNP’s vulnerabilities.

‘Electric cars more likely to hit pedestrians than petrol vehicles’
Electric Cars Being Charged 18/2/2022
Electric and Hybrid cars are more likely to hit pedestrians than petrol or diesel vehicles, especially in urban areas, according to an analysis of British road traffic accidents.
Data covering 32 billion miles of battery-powered car travel and 3 trillion miles of petrol and diesel car trips showed that, mile-for-mile, electric and hybrid cars were twice as likely to strike pedestrians as fossil fuel-powered cars, and three times more likely to do so in cities.
The reasons for the increased hazard posed by eco-friendly cars are unclear, but researchers suspect several factors.
The researchers suggested the vehicles’ quieter engines were a significant factor in higher fatality rates and called on the Government to mitigate the risks as it phases out petrol and diesel cars in pursuit of net zero.
Pedestrian casualties
The study examined road collision casualties in Britain from 2013 to 2017 using Road Safety Data. It analysed the number of pedestrians hit by various types of vehicles.
During this period, 96,285 pedestrians were hit by a car or taxi. While three-quarters of these incidents involved cars with combustion engines, this was because they covered considerably more miles.
On average, the study found that 5.16 people were hit by an electric or hybrid car for every 100 million miles driven by that type of vehicle, compared to 2.4 people for petrol and diesel cars.
The road accident data were cross-referenced with annual mileage figures from the National Travel Survey, with 32 billion miles of electric and hybrid vehicle travel and three trillion miles of petrol and diesel vehicle travel included in the analysis.
Two per cent of the pedestrian casualties were caused by an electric vehicle, while 24 per cent of the accidents did not have a record of the engine type. The researchers said that even in an “extreme case” scenario where all of these were accidents involving traditional combustion engine cars, the casualty rate would have been 3.16 per 100 million miles, still 63 per cent lower than seen with electric cars.
‘Less audible’
There was also a threefold greater risk of being hit by an electric car in cities than in rural areas. Road traffic injuries are the leading cause of death for children and young people, and one in four road traffic deaths are of pedestrians, the researchers said.
Dr Phil J Edwards, lead author from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, suggested the results were because electric cars are ‘less audible to pedestrians in urban areas’ where there is more background noise.
He said the risk posed to pedestrians by electric and hybrid cars ‘needs to be mitigated as governments proceed to phase out petrol and diesel cars’.
Since 2021, electric vehicles have been required to have sound generators installed, but the minimum requirement of 56 decibels is still significantly quieter than that of a petrol or diesel engine.
While 56 decibels is akin to a refrigerator or an office computer, combustion engines make a noise of around 70 decibels which is the equivalent of a busy office, washing machine or vacuum cleaner. The findings were published in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health.
