A man has been arrested after a suspected arson attack at a mosque, according to the Telegraph.

Sussex Police previously released images of two balaclava-clad people approaching the building in Peacehaven, East Sussex.

The pair are seen in footage appearing to spray accelerant on the entrance and igniting a fire.

A 46-year-old man remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life on Monday afternoon.

Nobody was hurt in the blaze, but significant damage was caused to the mosque and a nearby vehicle.

Background

A mosque in Peacehaven, East Sussex, was set on fire on Saturday night by “arsonists in balaclavas”, in what police have immediately classified as a hate crime, according to GB News

Emergency services were called shortly before 10 p.m. after reports that masked individuals had set fire to a car and the entrance steps of the Peace Community Centre and Mosque.

Sussex Police stated that two people were inside at the time, including an elderly man believed to be the imam, but thankfully no injuries were reported.

Detective Superintendent Karrie Bohanna described it as a “fast-moving investigation,” urging witnesses with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

The police said: “We are treating this as a suspected hate crime targeting the Muslim community.”

Churches across the UK suffer similar attacks

Over 9,000 crimes reported at UK churches in just three years- National Churches Trust.

While the Peacehaven incident has rightly drawn swift condemnation, Christian churches across the United Kingdom have also endured a wave of arson attacks, often without such immediate designation as hate crimes.

The speed with which the recent fire at the Peacehaven Mosque was officially described as a hate crime has raised questions about consistency and equality before the law.

Yet in numerous church arson cases, including those where Bibles were burned, crosses desecrated, or clergy targeted, police hesitated to describe the attacks as motivated by hate or received the same level of public and police attention. Such disparity gives the impression of a hierarchy of victims.

This raises a legitimate question: why are some faith communities granted immediate recognition and protection under hate crime provisions, while others are not?

Until police forces across Britain adopt consistent criteria in defining hate crimes, allegations of “two-tier justice” will continue to surface.

Lev 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

Over 9,000 crimes were reported at UK churches and places of worship between 2022 and 2024, including theft, vandalism, criminal damage and arson, according to the National Churches Trust and Countryside Alliance. Of these, 3,237 incidents were listed as “criminal damage, vandalism, and arson.”

Among recent cases

In 2024, the BBC reported an arson attack on a church in east Belfast. It was described it as a “racially motivated hate crime.”

Two masked men used an angle-grinder to cut a hole in the shutters of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in Templemore Street. A flammable substance was thrown inside and set alight.

Firefighters put out the blaze, which damaged the shutters and the building’s front hall. More smoke damage was also caused inside.

Meanwhile, at St Andrew’s Church,Twyford, Derbyshire , a fire in the vestry damaged a medieval oak chest. Police arrested a 23-year-old man and investigated it as a possible hate crime.

Furthermore, fire ripped through St John the Evangelist, Palmers Green , North London on New Year’s Day, It was confirmed as arson. Yet police did not label it a hate crime.

All Saints Church, Fleet (Hampshire), was gutted by arson in 2015. It took eight years and millions of pounds to rebuild the Grade II listed building.

Arrests made

Several people have been arrested across the UK in connection with arson attacks on churches.

In Northern Ireland, three boys aged 10 and 11 were charged over a fire that badly damaged the Church of the Holy Name, which police said they were not treating it as a religious or racially motivated hate crime.

In Derbyshire, police arrested one man over the St Andrew’s fire but later released him on bail. In Belfast and London, suspects have yet to be apprehended.

In Glasgow, a man was jailed for more than five years after setting fire to St Simon’s Church, Partick, which was almost destroyed.

Other arrests include an 18-year-old in Surrey charged with arson after burning church furniture, three teenagers in Hartlepool who admitted arson at a listed chapel, and a youth arrested in Wales following a fire at Newtown Evangelical Church.

The Fire Protection Association has warned that church arson is causing millions of pounds’ worth of damage, with more than 150 churches targeted over the past five years across the UK.

Deut 16:19 Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

A call for justice and equal protection

Scripture reminds us: 2 Samuel 23:3 He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

Every act of violence against a place of worship, whether mosque, church, or synagogue, is an attack on the very foundation of Britain’s moral fabric.

If one faith community’s suffering is treated more seriously than another’s, then justice itself is wounded.

The Christian community calls for transparency, equality, and accountability, that every arson attack on sacred ground be treated with equal urgency and righteous concern.

Proverbs 20:10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.

Two people were killed and several others injured when a man launched an attack outside a synagogue in Manchester during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

Greater Manchester Police said the incident began when a car was driven into pedestrians gathered near the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall. The attacker then attempted to stab worshippers with a knife while wearing what appeared to be an explosive vest.

Armed officers arrived at the scene within seven minutes and shot the suspect dead. The vest was later found to be non-viable.

The assailant was identified as Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, a British citizen of Syrian descent. Counter-terrorism police confirmed the incident is being treated as a terrorist attack.

At least three people were seriously injured and taken to hospital, while two victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Sir Keir’s insincerity

UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper (r) knew Axel Rudakubana was an Islamic terrorist from the start.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper (r) knew Axel Rudakubana was an Islamic terrorist from the start.

Immediately after the Manchester Attack, Sir Keir Starmer vowed to guarantee the security of Jews in Britain, but in a strange form of words. Speaking after a Cobra security meeting, he said: ‘To every Jewish person in this country, I also want to say this: I know how much fear you will be holding inside of you, I really do.’

The emphasis of ‘I really do’ reeks of insincerity. It calls to mind the old adage: ‘Never trust anyone who says “Trust me”.’

The Prime Minister went on, ‘And so I promise you that I will do everything in my power to guarantee you the security that you deserve, starting with a more visible police presence, protecting your community. I promise you that over the coming days, you will see the other Britain, the Britain of compassion, of decency, of love.

‘I promise you that this Britain will come together to wrap our arms around your community and show you that Britain is a place where you and your family are safe, secure and belong.’

Israel blames Keir Starmer

ITV news reports that Israel’s foreign minister has blamed the UK Government for the Manchester synagogue attack. Sir Keir Starmer has failed to curb ‘rampant antisemitic and anti-Israeli incitement in Britain’in the wake of the massacre in Israel almost two years ago on 7th October 2023.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said Israel expects ‘more than words from the Starmer government’ and demanded a ‘change of course’ on tackling anti-Jewish hatred.

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis said the attack in Crumpsall, north Manchester, was the ‘tragic result’ of an ‘unrelenting wave of Jew hatred on our streets, campuses, on social media and elsewhere’.

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

Flotilla more important than murder

Christian Voice National Director Stephen Green said today: ‘Sir Keir’s expressions of sympathy are creepy and disingenous. In reality, this is how Sir Keir has wrapped his arms and his ‘British values’ around the UK’s Jews: He has criticised the State of Israel for defending itself, restricted arms shipments, banned Israeli officials from a major arms exhibition, allowed antisemitic marches and flags in our streets and recognised a “palestinian state”. He has thrown Britain’s Jews under a London bus. Sir Keir Starmer’s police force are still allowing even more antisemitic, pro-Hamas demonstrations and refusing to condemn those with no moral compass taking part.’

This time, in London, we read: ‘A total of 40 people were arrested, the Met said. The majority of arrests were for breaching the conditions of the protest, while six protesters were detained for assaults on police officers.’

Those turning up still managed to find the self-serving ‘Sumud’ flotilla of more importance than the deaths and bloody assaults on security guards and worshippers at the Heaton Park synagogue. Fiona Smith, 42, told The Telegraph: “I don’t give a f— about the Jewish community right now. I thought about it and I’m sorry about what happened, but the whole story and why we’re here is because of what happened yesterday [with the flotilla].”

‘Sumud’ is Arabic for ‘steadfastness’ but conveys a political strategy of active resistance, in other words, in Islamic terms, of violence.

The truth is that the Israel defence Force fed and watered Greta and her keffiyeh-wearing pals after their arrest. Brendan O’Neill in the Telegraph wrote: ‘Yesterday Israel handed out one million meals to suffering Gazans through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Just think about that: as Greta Thunberg and her smug chums were sailing towards Gaza with paltry supplies, the state they hate was feeding Palestinian families.

‘As Leftists across the West cried “All eyes on the flotilla!”, in anticipation of Israel’s interception, young, nameless IDF soldiers were quietly securing the distribution of meals for the needy.

‘Yet still Israel is defamed as the “starver” of Palestinians while these preening sailors who delivered not so much as a crumb of food to Gaza are hailed as heroes. Israel provides food and yet is depicted as Gaza’s demonic destroyer. The sea-faring narcissists provide nothing and yet they’re celebrated as Gaza’s saviours.’

Attacker was called ‘Jihad’

Attack at UK synagogue on Yom Kippur kills 2 and injures 3.
Attack at UK synagogue on Yom Kippur kills 2 and injures 3.

The BBC are reporting the police have named the man who carried out the attack which left two Jewish people dead and three others injured as Jihad Al-Shamie, a 35-year-old British man of Syrian descent.

The BBC say: ‘No referrals related to Al-Shamie had been made to Prevent – the government’s anti-radicalisation scheme.’

In addition, ‘It is understood that Al-Shamie entered the UK as a young child, and was granted British citizenship in 2006 as a minor.’

Scripture makes very clear that the purpose of government is to protect the people from evil-doers:
Rom 13:4 For he (the ruler) is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Al-Shamie was shot dead at the scene, but not until after he had attacked the innocent. We have to ask, ‘How many other Muslims are waiting to follow this man on the path of jihad’? His very name spelt trouble and violence.

Multiculturalism is to blame

Migration Policy Institute show that Tony Blair began the policy of encouraging immigration by Muslims around 2000, with the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002. The policy was continued under David Cameron, by Theresa May, enthusiastically by Boris Johnson in the ‘Boris wave’, when the illegal entrants really started arriving, by Rishi Sunak and now continues under Keir Starmer.

It was supported by the policy of multiculturalism which it is hard not to see as designed to dilute our Christian heritage, culture and constitution over the last twenty-five years. Hence the replacement of an understanding of a homogenous British community by the current use among ministers and mayors of the plural ‘our communities’.

When will our elite realise that encouraging Muslim immigration, both legal and illegal, has put the British population at unimaginable risk? Not just Thursday’s attack, but the London bombings of 2005, the Manchester Arena attack of 2017, the Westminster knife attacks. When will they begin actively to reverse the policy?

Nanosermon Script:

A couple of years ago I saw something in Romans chapter thirteen which I never saw before. And it had an impact on me. I don’t know if that’s ever happened to you. Maybe you’ve read a certain scripture over and over again and then suddenly some words leap out at you? Let’s read these verses, in the King James Version:

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. (KJV)

So far so good, for the rulers at least. We just have to do what they say. It sounds all ‘divine right of kings’, doesn’t it? But Paul goes on in verse three to set a standard for them:

Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Did you notice what I noticed that time? ‘He is the minister of God’. You see, I thought only pastors and bishops – you know, churchmen – were ministers of God. But the Bible says so-called ‘secular’ leaders are as well.

Now, let’s be absolutely clear what this means. It means every earthly ruler, that’s every king, every president, every prime minster, every minister of state, every judge and every magistrate is responsible to Almighty God to do good as God sees it. And he is to uphold those who do what is righteous and punish those who do evil, in the eyes of God.

Accountable to God

Whether these rulers know they are accountable to God or not makes no difference. In the Day of Judgment they will give an account to the Almighty before his Throne of Grace, as to how closely they followed the laws he has laid down in Holy Scripture. Now then, did the Holy Spirit reveal this to the Apostle Paul out of the blue?

Not quite, because the psalmist says, in psalm twenty-two and verse twenty-eight:
Psalm 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.

And if you turn back to second chronicles chapter twenty and verse six, you’ll see righteous king Jehoshaphat said:
2Chron 20:6a … O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen?

Every earthly ruler ‘is the minister of God’ because God is the fount of all earthly authority. They are ordained by God to rule as his delegates. Now be in no doubt, when Paul wrote those words to the church in Rome they were fighting talk. The ruling Caesar of the Roman Empire acknowledged no power higher than himself.

There is one higher than they

Can you bring to mind a ruler like that today? I can think of a few. Paul will also have remembered that Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter five and verse eight:

Eccl 5:8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

Be they as high as they will, there is one higher than they. So what does this mean for you? Well, the question about whether we should observe unjust laws will have to wait for another day.

In the meantime, God is saying you have a duty not just to pray for your member of parliament, or congressman, or representative, but to witness to him if he is going the wrong way, and always to remind him he is the minister of God.

Is Islamophobia ban a gift to criminals and extremists?

0
The UK's take-away food trade is now dominated by Muslim 'Halal' outlets, happy to take money from 'unbelievers'.

Warnings are mounting against government’s determination to impose an official definition of so-called “Islamophobia.”

A senior King’s Counsel (KC) and government adviser has already cautioned that such a definition would hinder police investigations into Muslim offenders.

And, writing in The Times, Shadow Equalities Minister Claire Coutinho warned that Labour’s plan would risk shutting down debate about the grooming gangs scandal, giving cover to abusers rather than justice to victims.

So, is Islamophobia ban a gift to criminals and extremists?

Petition: Oppose the
Islamophobia Definition →

The Term “Islamophobia” in Britain

The moment we use “Islamophobia” as though it were a neutral term, we concede ground. This word was crafted not to protect Muslims from injustice, but to shield Islam itself from critique. It classifies any disagreement with Islam as irrational fear, thus silencing serious debate.

The Labour Party adopted internally the APPG definition in March 2019, which describes Islamophobia as “rooted in racism … a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”

Under that definition, any critique of Muslim doctrine or practice could be branded Islamophobia. Criticism of grooming gangs, of extremist ideology, of Sharia influences—any such criticism risks being labelled Islamophobic under this regime.

In fact, the APPG definition has already met resistance on grounds of civil liberties.Unfortunately, government’s plan threatens that liberty.

2 Corinthians 13:8 We can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth

Further, an open letter warns it would stifle legitimate criticism and investigation.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free.

When Silence Costs Lives

We need only recall the grooming scandals to see what happens when the truth is buried under fear. For years, authorities knew what was happening but were afraid to act. Many perpetrators were Pakistani Muslims; those who raised concerns were accused of racism. The result: children were abused, victims silenced.

A National Audit on Group-based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse commissioned by government laid bare the systemic failures. The government itself admitted this cowardice, reopening more than 800 cases for review.

If today we formalise a definition that labels criticism of Islam as potentially unlawful, we are binding the hands of future investigators. Police, social workers, journalists will fear the accusation of Islamophobia before they begin any inquiry. That is moral cowardice enshrined.

Ephesians 5:11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Britain Slipping Toward Blasphemy Laws

We already see hints of blasphemy by stealth. During Parliament, an MP demanded prohibition on desecration of “holy texts” and prophets—thinly veiled references to the Koran. Keir Starmer agreed, pledging to “tackle Islamophobia in all its forms.”

Such protections for “holy texts” exist in many Islamic states, under pain of imprisonment or worse. Britain flirting with the same spirit is no small thing.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

If we enshrine Islamophobia, we hand the state power to punish “offense” to Islam, not justice. It is the very essence of blasphemy law by legislation, dressed in civility.

Courts Show Partiality

The courts have already shown how biased the system can become when Islam is involved. In one shocking case, Moussa Kadri violently attacked Coskun with a knife. He threatened to kill him and kicked him while he lay on the ground. Yet the court spared him jail.

Meanwhile, Mr. Coskun, whose “crime” was burning a Koran—was fined £240. The Telegraph noted how such double standards undermine faith in equal justice.

Proverbs 20:10 God’s word condemns unequal law. “Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

The Only Safe Foundation

This government may think this move is clever politics. But the long-term consequences will be disastrous. Labour will alienate Sikhs, Hindus, Christians, and secular Britons alike.

The grooming gang reports already show what happens when authorities give way to cultural sensitivity at the expense of truth.

The Casey Report was commissioned for this reason and forced Labour into a U-turn on inquiries.

The Psalmist declares:

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD. That is the sure foundation. To legislate Islamophobia is to bless a false god at the expense of the true.

Is Digital ID a Technocratic Tyranny?

0
Government to introduce digital ID's
Government to introduce digital ID's

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced plans to introduce digital ID cards – to be branded “BritCards”, as a solution to illegal immigration.

He described the scheme as “an enormous opportunity for the UK” and claimed it would “make it tougher to work illegally in this country”. But the evidence from Europe tells another story.

With the exception of Denmark, every EU nation already issues some form of ID card. Yet illegal immigration continues at record levels across the continent. Simply put, ID cards have done nothing to prevent border breaches or clamp down on illegal work. Why should Britain expect a different outcome?

Supporters of BritCards claim the new system will force employers to check immigration status. Yet employers are already required by law to do this. Those who knowingly exploit cheap migrant labour are not suddenly going to obey the law because of a smartphone app.

The reality is that this policy is not about border control. It is about state control, putting every citizen under the digital gaze of government databases. Only last year, Sir Keir told the Labour Party Conference the state would take more ‘control in people’s lives’.

In 2021, the Government was proposing Covid Certificates to regulate our lives. (See the link below.) Covid passports making free movement dependent on having had a Covid mRNA jab were being proposed. The people have a right to be suspicious of any ID card initiative.

Now Sir Keir Starmer’s administration is planning, if that is the right word to use in connection with anything His Majesty’s Government attempts, to make digital ID mandatory for Right to Work checks by the end of this Parliament. Do we trust HMG’s ambitions will end there?

Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. … 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Furthermore, the individual is a created being, made in the image of God:
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Voices warning of risk

Big Brother Watch has called on the Government to reject the new digital ID plan, arguing it resembles a “mandatory universal ID under a new guise” and raises serious privacy and civil liberties concerns. They warn against creating a “papers please” society where law-abiding people must prove their status at every turn.

Human rights group Liberty has also weighed in. In “Compulsory digital ID will exclude some of the most marginalised members of society”, Liberty’s director Akiko Hart warned a mandatory system would worsen discrimination, particularly affecting those in poverty and the elderly. They emphasise that any digital ID must have strong safeguards, offline access, and not be mandatory.

The Psalmist speaks of liberty as a good thing to have and links it to following God’s laws:
Psalm 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

As does the Apostle Paul:
2Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Another group, TechUK, while somewhat more technocratic, has expressed concern about how the system will protect individual data.

Lessons from failed initiatives

Britain has experience with similar projects. The Identity Cards Act of 2006 attempted to establish physical cards; it was later cancelled in 2010 due to public resistance and spiralling costs.

The scheme was projected in 2006 to cost £5.4–5.5 billion over 10 years. By the time it was scrapped in 2010, around £292 million had already been spent.

There have also been other IT scandals: the NHS’s National Programme for IT and the Post Office Horizon case exposed just how costly and destructive large, poorly managed tech projects can be—especially when the stakes involve personal data and state power.

In February 2023, in an article on that year’s attempt at an ID scheme, Christian Voice National Director, Stephen Green, noted that, “The Government presents the idea of Digital Identity as benign. However, the government departments holding our personal data will also include county councils and outside organisations working for public authorities.

“They want to bring under one digital roof all our identity details at present held by different departments.

“Biblically, Government is there to maintain peace and security according to God’s laws and to promote prosperity. It is there to serve the people, not the elite, according to our Lord’s own command. Whether those in power recognise they are there to improve the lives of the people of the UK is a moot point.”

Concerns and call to action

Christian Voice believes that while law and order are important, they must never come at the expense of individual dignity, privacy, and freedom.

We see BritCards as a policy that risks trading liberty for the illusion of security.
We urge Parliament, local church leaders, and all citizens of conscience to demand that this new scheme:
• remain optional, not mandatory;
• include robust protections for data privacy;
• provide alternatives for those without smartphones or unwilling to use digital forms;
• avoid becoming a tool of surveillance or discrimination.

Psalm 139:14 will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

We believe the role of government is to protect without overreaching, to secure without subjugating. Christian Voice stands firm: we must push back against any policy that compromises these values.

Why the UK recognising a ‘Palestinian State’ must bring judgment

Isa 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, 7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

On 21st of this month, as the BBC reports, Sir Keir Starmer made the announcement that His Majesty’s Government will recognise a palestinian state: He claimed: ‘That means a safe and secure Israel alongside a viable Palestinian state.’ The Prime Minister went on: ‘So today, to revive the hope of peace and a two state solution, I state clearly as Prime Minister of this great country that the United Kingdom formally recognises the state of Palestine.’

In a video statement on X, the Prime Minister said: “In the face of the growing horror in the Middle East we are acting to keep alive the possibility of peace and a two-state solution.”

Australia, Canada and Portugal also announced formal recognition, with France expected to follow. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warns the decisions would reward “Hamas’s monstrous terrorism”. The US has also voiced strong opposition to the move. Mossab Hassan Yousef, who wrote ‘Son of Hamas’ about his own father’s leadership role in Hamas and about his time as a Shin Bet spy, also denounces ‘palestinianism’ in a Telegraph article and scorns the West’s futile efforts, saying no such country as ‘Palestine’ will ever exist.

Many of us will still see this action a deliberate affront to the state of Israel, taken to please what Sir Keir sees as his Muslim constituency, as evidenced by the pro-Hamas Islamo-left parades which have shamed London since the massacre of Jews mounted from Gaza on 7th October 2023.

Blessing and Cursing

Nevertheless, the scripture is clear. Those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. This is as true today as when the prophet Balaam saw it around 3,400 years ago:

Numb 24:8 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows. 9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.

It follows that if the United Kingdom recognises a Palestinian State without Israeli acceptance, our elite, cut adrift from any moral compass, are cursing Israel and putting our whole nation under their curse. Watch our video on why ‘The Left’ have no moral compass:

Practicalities

The practicalities are obvious. Where is this ‘Palestine?’ Who is its president?

And how can two states live side by side (‘safe and secure’) when one of them is pledged to destroy the other and drive its people into the sea? Sir Keir may well describe the ‘vision’ of Hamas as ‘hateful’, but can he not see it derives from their religion? The Muslim sacred texts, the Hadith, call for Muslims to kill Jews:

‘You (i.e. Muslims) will fight against the Jews and you will gain victory over them. The stones will (betray them) saying: “O, Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him”.’ (Sahih al-Bukhari 2926 Book 56, Hadith 139)

The Balfour Declaration

Arthur James Balfour
Arthur James Balfour

In his book ‘Son of Hamas’ Mosab Hassan Yousef describes ‘palestinianism’ as a convenient tool for Muslims to attempt to destroy Israel. So what is the truth behind the ‘palestinians’ and what they describe as ‘occupied territories’?

The Imperial War Museum records that the Balfour Declaration was issued by British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour in 1917. It supported the establishment of a “Jewish national home in Palestine” while also aiming to protect the rights of the existing non-Jewish population. The statement was addressed to Lionel Walter Rothschild. It became part of the British Mandate for Palestine after the Ottoman Empire’s collapse. 1917 is spiritually a highly significant year, marked out in prophecy, in which General Allenby liberated Jerusalem, and whose centenary was marked by the United States moving their embassy, as our linked story reports.

Col T E Lawrence (of Arabia) in his Arab robes
Col T E Lawrence (of Arabia) in his Arab robes

Of course, at that very same time Colonel T E Lawrence (of Arabia) was under orders to promise the same land to the Arabs in his successful campaign to persuade them to fight with the British. Welcome to the world of British diplomacy.

The British were awarded a Mandate to administer ‘Palestine’, but a 1939 White Paper reversed the position of HMG, to favour the Arabs. But now the Second World War was brewing and before, during and in its aftermath, Jews flooded into the Holy Land, despite British opposition.

The Bible is clear that God himself has given Israel the land:
Deut 3:18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.

1948 War and its aftermath

'West Bank' (Judea & Samaria)
‘West Bank’ (Judea & Samaria)

In 1948, the Zionist forces went to war and by the end of 1949, says IWM, ‘Palestine had been wiped off the the map. Israel controlled 60% of the proposed Arab state, with the remainder controlled by Jordan and Egypt. 700,000 Palestinian Arabs either fled or were expelled from their homes, an event remembered as “the Nakba” or “catastrophe”. In the following years, 260,000 Jewish people emigrated from neighbouring Arab states, some by choice and others by force. Around 150,000 Palestinian Arabs remained in Israel.’

But in April 1950, TransJordan invaded and seized Samaria and Judea on the West Bank of the Jordan river. The annexation was widely considered as illegal and void by most of the international community, including the Arab League. However, the United Kingdom, Iraq, and The United States recognised this extension of Jordanian sovereignty. Jordan flooded the area with those with a claim to having been expelled in 1948.

Six-Day War of 1967 and up to 2024

Israel recaptured the ‘West Bank’ during the Six-Day War of 1967, and in 1988 Jordan renounced its claim to the territory. Nevertheless, Israel was still described as an ‘occupier’ of the land, despite the scripture:

Josh 1:13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is situated in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), situated in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands

On 19th July 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest legal body of the United Nations (UN), ruled that ‘the Palestinian territories constitute one political unit’. It decided ‘that Israel’s occupation since 1967, and the subsequent creation of Israeli settlements and exploitation of natural resources, are illegal under international law’. Naturally, the court also ruled that Israel should pay full reparations to the Palestinian people and accused Israel of ‘Racial Discrimination.’

The court’s opinion was backed by the European Union but criticized by the United States. On 18th September 2024, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution calling for the end, within a year, to Israel’s ‘unlawful presence’ in ‘the West Bank and Gaza.’ This was despite the massacre on 7th October 2023 when Hamas swarmed out of Gaza to murder 1,200 Jews and capture 250 hostages, some of whom are being held to this day.

African nations and US object to ICC

International Criminal Court (in The Hague, Netherlands)
International Criminal Court (also in The Hague, Netherlands)

It is worth noting that this week, as Al Jazeera reports, ‘Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, three nations in West Africa run by military governments after coups in recent years, have announced their exit from the International Criminal Court (ICC), referring to it as “neocolonial repression” and accusing the judicial body of selective justice.’

The ICC is separate from both the UN and the ICJ, but similar charges of ‘selective justice’ can easily be made against both international courts. The BBC reports that the United States has also expressed a lack of confidence in the ICC: ‘US President Donald Trump has announced sanctions against the court, which he accuses of “illegitimate and baseless actions targeting America and our close ally Israel”.’

It is worth pointing out that nowhere does the Bible endorse or even mention any ‘international’ court, unless it is the righteous court of heaven. As one would expect, these international courts cannot stop attacking Israel. On the matter of judgement in general, the Bible says:
Deut 1:17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s:

The Lord Jesus reinforced the point:
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

On the ground in Gaza

Colonel Richard Kemp

Meanwhile, on the ground in Gaza City, as Colonel Richard Kemp reports in the Telegraph, ‘Hamas are being smashed’.

‘In the past couple of days they have killed dozens of Hamas terrorists, seized and destroyed munitions dumps and located and attacked numerous tunnel shafts. From ground and air, military facilities including fighting positions, command centres and observation posts located in civilian buildings, including tower blocks, have been struck and destroyed.’

Colonel Kemp concludes: ‘So, at Hamas’s moment of maximum stress, Starmer rides to their rescue with his formal recognition of a non-existent Palestinian state, a move that their leaders characterise as “victory”. Hamas are obviously not interested in Starmer’s two-state solution, any more than their fellow jihadists in the PLO and Palestinian Authority are: they want only the annihilation of the Jewish State. But Starmer’s recognition is nevertheless important for them, an indication that even at this stage there is still hope for international pressure to stop the Israeli offensive. According to senior Hamas terrorist Ghazi Hamad, recognition of a Palestinian state “is one of the fruits of October 7”.’

Is the End Nigh for Net Zero?

Net zero cash for Malawi villagers axed from aid budget
Net zero cash for Malawi villagers axed from aid budget
Net zero support decoupling from climate concern: More in Common

Polling data from the More in Common think tank reveals a stark decline in public prioritisation of climate change.

Just 13 % of respondents now place it in their top three issues. Among Reform voters, the number plunges to 4 %; 11 % of Conservatives, 20 % of Labour supporters, and 24 % of Liberal Democrats do so. Even among Green voters, only 34 % rate it a major concern—overtaken today by cost of living (59 %) and healthcare (40 %).

This shift is more than a political footnote—it signals a deeper crisis of trust and fatigue. People are worn down by inflation, energy bills, and uncertainty. The rhetoric of climate action no longer inspires; it exhausts.

Polling from More in Common also shows that while many still believe climate change matters, support for the government’s net-zero agenda has drifted.

The policy consensus frays

Untill recently, net zero was a rare point of cross-party agreement. But that consensus is unravelling. The Guardian’s environment coverage now reports that both the Conservative Party and Reform UK are openly questioning the viability of achieving zero emissions by 2050.

Some senior Conservatives have raised doubts about climate science and expressed concern about the cost burden on ordinary families.

Reform voices have echoed that net zero is unrealistic, arguing instead for adaptation and questioning the assumptions behind decarbonisation.

Cracks in public support and policy delivery

On the ground, the disconnect between climate concern and willingness to pay is widening. In the Climate Barometer tracker, 63 % of Britons still support the net zero target. But many now express confusion, ambivalence, or doubt about how it will be achieved. Trust is a big factor.

Citizens are increasingly sceptical that governments or industry can deliver a just and affordable transition. Doubts have grown especially strong among Conservative voters, whose support for the target has dropped sharply over the last year.

In one telling quote from a public poll:
“I don’t really understand this Net Zero thing … I think it’s a bit fake to be honest.”

This resembles a crisis of credibility. Without clear, tangible improvements, rhetoric rings hollow.

Real cases of backlash & reversal

Now we are seeing political and institutional push-back. UK Opposition Shift: Kemi Badenoch, Conservative leader, publicly announced opposition to the 2050 net zero goal, calling it too costly and potentially damaging to the economy.

Political Fracturing: As reported in the Financial Times, the once-broad consensus on climate is now fractured. Some Conservative voices argue for watering down obligations or delaying deadlines.

Analysts warn that many are sceptical of paying the price for net zero.

Surveys and media commentary show that a growing number of people feel net zero policies have hit them more than helped them, especially in a cost-of-living crisis.

We must call for clarity, accountability, and justice in climate policy. We must connect policies to people’s everyday lives, show how transition can relieve suffering, and insist that solutions respect human dignity.

As Peter wrote:
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

The cost of net zero on families

We recently reported that Net Zero is impoverishing the British people, sacrificing prosperity on the altar of an man-made idol of climate fanaticism.

A Reform UK MP said that scrapping the government’s “Net Stupid Zero” agenda could save families £1,000 a year.

This follows the government’s launch of another round of “green subsidies—Allocation Round 7 (AR7)“, encouraging wind and solar firms to bid for multi-billion-pound taxpayer-funded contracts.

Richard Tice MP warns this is a “conceit Britain cannot afford.”

We also reported how the push for net zero threatens jobs and endangers pedestrian safety in the country.

According to Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the number of jobs in the oil and gas sector has declined significantly over the past decade, dropping from 117,900 to 74,100. During the same period, employment in Scotland’s low carbon and renewables sector has seen only modest growth, increasing from 23,200 to 25,700 jobs.

OEUK Chief Executive David Whitehouse said: ‘Labour either can’t do the maths or haven’t considered the alarming jobs impact that will be felt up and down the country. With no new investment, 42,000 jobs will go, and we could start to see the effects as early as this year.

Ezek 45:9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.

‘Women’ are ‘people with ovaries’ in city council

Bristol City Council loses fight over Freedom of Information cases - BBC News
Bristol City Council loses fight over Freedom of Information cases - BBC News

A woke council has plunged into a “transgender” row after insisting that women should be called “people with ovaries”, according to the Times.

In a 39-page submission to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), Bristol city council maintained that defining sex as biological “misgenders trans people” and risks discrimination.

The council has been accused of offending women with “virtue-signalling madness”.

Greens want to protect ‘people who chest-feed’

The “woke” council whose Green Party leader Tony Dyer has criticised the Supreme Court ruling, raised a number of objections, including urging the EHRC to drop gendered language when referring to pregnancy, maternity and breastfeeding.

It wrote that “not all pregnant individuals would use the pronouns ‘she/her’” so it could lead to “emotional and psychological distress” for “trans men, non-binary, gender diverse or intersex individuals”.

“We strongly advise the use of more inclusive language such as using ‘they/them’ to refer to all individuals, or include other identities to reflect the diversity of individuals who access maternity or paternity services.

“This could include ‘people with ovaries’ or the term ‘people who use paternity services’. We also recognise that individuals may not identify with the word maternity and prefer paternity as it is gender neutral.

“Additionally, it is unclear what support will be available to trans people who chest-feed to ensure they are protected from discrimination.”

Protections based on biological sex are “too vague”, the response added, as: “It is unclear whether it refers to anyone capable of pregnancy, or only those who were assigned female at birth.”

Council officials complained that the new guidance implies that “trans women are not ‘really’ women” and risked “creating a hostile environment in public services”.

This raises medical questions, ethical concerns, and deep unease about robbing mothers of their unique God-given role.

To strip away the words “mother” and “breastfeeding” in favour of “chest-feeding” is not inclusivity but an assault on motherhood itself. It denies the created order and confuses children about who brings them into the world.

Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Defying the Supreme Court

Across the UK, organisations are resisting the Supreme Court’s clear ruling that sex in equality law means biological sex. Instead of adjusting policy, they seek ways around it.

NHS Fife Tribunal (Scotland): At a tribunal involving nurse Sandie Peggie, who objected to sharing a changing room with a trans-identifying male, NHS Fife’s barrister appeared to undermine the Supreme Court ruling, suggesting that trans women may not legally be male under the Equality Act.

The Labour Party cancelled its women’s conference after the ruling, fearing legal risks if “self-identified women” were admitted to spaces reserved by law for biological women. Instead of embracing the clarity of law, the Party chose to appease activists.

Corinthians 14:33 God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Battle against womanhood

In August 2025, UK’s first transgender judge, Jason Williams, who now according to the Telegraph goes by the name ‘Dr. Victoria McCloud’ launched a legal challenge against the United Kingdom itself in the European Court of Human Rights.

Supported by activist lawyers, the retired judge is contesting the April ruling of the Supreme Court which affirmed that the word “woman” in the Equality Act 2010 refers only to biological women, not to men who identify as female.

This landmark judgement brought long-needed clarity, yet we are now faced with the question: Why should anyone defy the authority of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom?

Nanosermon Script:

If you are new to faith in Jesus, and you have read some of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians, you might be thinking that as you are a child of Abraham and an heir to the promise and covenant which God made with Abraham, that you don’t have to observe God’s laws. We’ll see if that is true, because we don’t want you missing out on Abraham’s blessing.

So let’s get started in Paul’s letter to the Galatians, chapter three and verse seven:
Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which be of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

So that’s good. If you have faith in Jesus, you are a child of Abraham. Paul means that all of the Godly inheritance of Abraham is now yours. You don’t inherit the land of Canaan, but you do enter into fellowship with the Almighty.

Now let’s go to verse seventeen. Paul writes this:
Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

But which law was given four hundred and thirty years after the covenant? Was it the moral law, ‘thou shalt not steal’, ‘thou shalt not commit adultery’ and so on? Let’s see.

God made his covenant with Abraham in Genesis chapters fifteen and seventeen. Abraham’s grandson Jacob, renamed Israel, took his sons and their families into Egypt in Genesis chapter forty-six. They grew there into a nation. In the Exodus, Moses led them out of Egypt. On Mount Sina-i (NB: it’s not pronounced ‘Sine-ee-aye’) God revealed to Moses sacrifices, rites and ceremonies.

Between the Covenant with Abraham and Mount Sinai four hundred and thirty years had elapsed. But the moral and civil law was already in place at the time of Abraham. You can read in Genesis and in the book of Job, who lived around the time of Abraham, that they understood God’s laws against adultery, idolatry, theft, murder, sodomy, false witness, breaking a promise, keeping back a man’s wages, robbery, violence and covetousness perfectly well.

Both in the book of Job and in Genesis we read about respect for elders and fathers, of care for the poor, about weights and measures, of not favouring persons in judgment, of inheritance and more. God’s moral and civil law was already in place at the time of the Covenant. The moral and civil statutes Moses received on Mount Sinai were merely restatements of what was already well-known to them.

Eliphaz, one of Job’s comforters, even said to Job:
Job 22:22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from His mouth.

That makes no sense unless the moral law of God was already known. So the ‘law’ Paul is referring to is the sacrificial law. It is that law that was ‘added because of transgressions’, to atone for sin until Abraham’s seed, that’s Jesus, would come and by his sacrifice show us a better way.

What does this mean for you? Well, your faith in Jesus Christ has justified you and washed you clean before the Father. It has made you an heir and a child of Abraham. But it has not abolished God’s moral law or your responsibility to keep it.

God’s word says, in Genesis chapter eighteen:
Gen 18:19 For I know him (that’s Abraham), that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

So you see that by studying and keeping God’s law and walking in his way, acting with justice and judgment, you become a true child of Abraham and make sure of the blessing which God bestowed upon him.

Hey, now you have forgiveness of sins, the new life of Christ, the Covenant, the promise, and the blessing of Abraham. Have a great day. And if this Nanosermon blessed you, please share it. 3:20

School withdraws ‘white guilt’ novel after parents complain

A school has been forced to remove a “white guilt” novel from its curriculum after backlash from parents.

James Farquharson, 53, accused Budmouth Academy in Dorset of “brainwashing” his 14-year-old daughter, according to The Mail.

This comes after he learned she and other pupils were compelled to read passages form a book that “blames them for their white skin” – and his daughter was forced to read it out loud.

“The Hate U Give”

James Farquharson says his 14-year-old daughter felt embarrassed studying “The Hate U Give”. Credit: Amazon

The book, published amid the Black Lives Matter movement in 2017, charts the prejudice shown to a poor 16-year-old African-American girl at an elite, predominantly white private school before her childhood friend is shot and killed by a white police officer. The shooting leads to riots.

53-year-old James, raised concerns that the book “promotes partisan political views” and makes some teenage students feel guilty about being white.

He said: “I found out about this last week when my 14-year-old daughter said she and her peers were having to read [The Hate U Give] out aloud. She felt embarrassed and uncomfortable about it.

“I looked through it and read the first 150 pages and thought ‘really?’.

“It is full of bad language, it normalises sex and drugs, and is centred on identity politics, namely race, which blames her for her white skin.

“It is divisive and is centred on issues of blackness and whiteness,” Mr Farquharson said.

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

The Ideological Drift of Education

As Mr Farquharson notes on The Telegraph, “The school shouldn’t be addressing political issues with students unless they are going to balance it with the counter-arguments.”

This is the subtlety of modern indoctrination. No longer does ideology come from the pulpit of a party rally, but from the pages of a school reading list. Children are taught not to think critically about race and society, but to accept one-sided narratives that divide them along lines of colour and privilege.

He speaks of “neo-Marxism being slipped into our children’s minds … via fiction”. It is not balanced debate but indoctrination by narrative, teaching that there are “goodies and baddies” defined by skin colour.

“A passage in the novel describes the protagonist being forced to place his hands down the pants of a woman and engage in a sexual act against his will.

“It contains themes and language that one would hope 12-year-old kids wouldn’t be taught in school,” the dad said. “A 12-year-old reading out passages about female masturbation is a massive safeguarding red flag.”

Budmouth Academy responded by announcing that The Hate U Give would be removed from the curriculum.

However, the school said Pigeon English, which is based on the murder of the Peckham schoolboy Damilola Taylor, had been placed under review but would probably remain on the curriculum because it was a prescribed text for GCSE English literature.

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones … it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck.

“The Seed they Plant”

A Church of England primary school in Essex, parents withdrew a child when a book (My Shadow is Pink) that encourages exploring identity via shadows etc., was introduced. Parents said it promoted “gender confusion.”

Meanwhile, in Kent, parents expressed concern at a CofE primary school for showing children a video based on the book It Feels Good to be Yourself: A Book About Gender Identity, saying it introduced “extreme transgender ideology” without parental consent.

In the US. a reading of “I Am Jazz” was cancelled after parental concerns and pressure from a conservative group at Mount Horeb Primary Center in Wisconsin.

In Scotland, parents protested when Born Ready, a transgender-affirming children’s book, was pushed into primary classrooms. In England, taxpayer money has funded resources on “white privilege” for pupils barely old enough to understand history.

Each case illustrates the same principle: replace wholesome learning with politicised content, and children become the battleground for cultural revolution.

Christians must not remain silent. Just as Nehemiah stood firm against those who mocked and opposed God’s people, so parents today must take their stand to protect the hearts and minds of the next generation.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

A Call to Watchfulness

Farquharson has written to the headteacher of Budmouth Academy requesting an urgent review of reading materials. He insists he is not calling for censorship, but for age-appropriate content and respect for parental concerns.

The question remains: who shapes the moral compass of our children — parents, or the state?

The Bible is clear: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.

Christian parents must be vigilant, discerning what is being taught, and ready to challenge the creeping ideologies that seek to replace biblical truth with guilt, anger, and division. For if we do not guard our children, who will?

Why the elite hate ‘Unite the Kingdom’

2
The 'Unite the Kingdom' rally
The 'Unite the Kingdom' rally
The 'Unite the Kingdom' rally
The ‘Unite the Kingdom’ rally

There is now an undeniable disconnect between ordinary people and those in office. The ‘Unite the Kingdom’ rally on 13th September in London’s Parliament Square and across Westminster Bridge drew almost hysterical comments from the Prime Minister. In an interview with Channel 4 News reported in the Standard, Sir Keir Starmer described the demonstration as “plastic patriotism”, adding that it had been more than “just very bad behaviour”, as if it were ‘very bad behaviour’ to turn up to an anti-establishment rally.

Prov 28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. 16a The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor…

The arrogance of Rehoboam

King Rehoboam surveys the wreckage of his kingdom. (We nearly captioned him 'Keir Starmer')
King Rehoboam surveys the wreckage of his kingdom. (We nearly captioned him ‘Keir Starmer’) (Christian Publishing House)

It reminds us of the arrogance, stupidity and contempt for those below him of the Bible’s King Rehoboam, when the people asked for a reduction in their taxes. That did not end well for him. He lost the majority of his kingdom and Judah was then invaded by Egypt. Find the story in 1Kings 12 and 2Chronicles 10-12. It is well worth a read. As it happens, at the end he repented and in Judah, finally, we read, ‘Things went well’. That is what we want for our United Kingdom, but it depends on the Lord raising up righteous, humble, God-fearing men to lead us:

2Chron 12:12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well. (KJV)

Rehoboan’s stupidity may well have been from the Lord, but nevertheless, the point stands. Arrogant rulers who underestimate the strength of feeling against them will fall under judgement.

It appears there were 24 arrests on the day in London with eight people charged, but how many of those were from the rival hard-left protest has not been disclosed. In comparison, there were over 500 arrests over the two days of Notting Hill Carnival last month, ‘50 of them for possession of an offensive weapon’, according to the Telegraph.

Eyewitness account

The mainstream media were careful to put numbers attending around 100,000. Commentator Philip Patrick attended the rally and had a different view: ‘Suffice to say the numbers who were there … far surpassed the expectations of the police or the mainstream media. … The authorities underestimated the breadth and depth of feeling of people in UK who oppose the direction the country seems to be taking. … The proliferation of Union Jacks, flags of St George, Saltires and Welsh Dragons evidenced the UK-wide appeal of this event – not just how frustrated people feel, but a renewed spirit of Unionism, too.

‘The number of crosses and placards proclaiming Jesus Christ our saviour was, to me at least, surprising. “Jesus is King” was chanted from the stage at one point. (It) reinforced the mood of a people striving for a higher, better, ancient authority to appeal to.’

Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords.

Downing Street condemned as “dangerous and inflammatory” comments of Elon Musk, urging those at the rally in London to “fight back” or “die”. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said Mr Musk’s words threatened “violence and intimidation on our streets”, adding, hopefully: “I don’t think the British public will have any truck with that kind of language.”

But Reform’s Nigel Farage said: “If the fight that Musk was talking about was about standing up for our rights and free speech, if it was about fighting in elections to overcome the established parties, then that absolutely is the fight that we’re in,” he said.

’Shiver’ through ‘our communities’

Sir Keir went on:“It sent a shiver through so many of our communities who now feel more scared than they did before. I understand that.”

But Mr Farage responded: “I’ll tell you what’s even worse, the fact that over 50% of women don’t feel safe walking the streets alone.”

Judges 5:6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.

For London Mayor Sadiq Khan, writing in the Guardian, Elon Musk ‘tried to rally protesters against our democracy’. That’s Mr Khan’s and Sir Keir’s ‘democracy’ of course, not ordinary people’s. He also blamed Donald Trump for ‘dark times, but those who seek to divide us will not win.’ Those at the rally were from ‘the far right’, said the uber-inclusive mayor, leading London Assembly Conservative Leader Susan Hall to reply, ‘your constantly referring to others as far-right is divisive in itself’.

‘Rising tide of hatred’

Sir Sadiq claimed ‘many people, particularly from London’s diverse communities, are feeling extremely worried.’ It’s those plural ‘communities’ now with added ‘diversity’ wheeled out again.

We should note that when today’s elite speak of ‘our communities’ they acknowledge that they have destroyed the unified British community which stood together in two world wars. The ‘communities’ of which they speak are the Muslims who refuse to assimilate.

Numb 15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

Showing little self-awareness, Mr Khan went on to claim ‘our politicians and pundits have refused to condemn the rising tide of hatred in this country’. The man who has encouraged antisemitic Islamo-left parades through London since 7th October 2023 said this even as the tide of hatred of the godless left for the late Charlie Kirk was on open display.

Mr Farage and rally organiser Tommy Robinson are known not to get on, but the former was generous enough to say he thought “the vast majority of people that turned up were good, ordinary decent people who are very, very concerned about what’s happening in this country”. Sign our Petition:

Why the disconnect?

Courtney Walsh, 12, 'punished' for wearing Union flag dress to school culture day - LBC
Courtney Walsh, 12, ‘punished’ for wearing Union flag dress to school culture day – LBC

So why is there such a disconnect between the elite and the ‘ordinary decent people’ at the rally? Why was a gathering intended to ‘unite the kingdom’ accused instead of division, of being ‘far-right’ and and inciting violence?

It is because the concept of uniting the kingdom around our Christian heritage, around flags with the cross of Jesus Christ on them (there is an alternative Welsh flag, that of St David, with the gold cross on a black ground) is anathema to the elite.

Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

They want to unite around globalism, multiculturalism and secularism. They hate our Christian heritage and want to disparage it. Hence sending a young girl home from school on ‘culture day’ because she wore a dress depicting the union flag.

In fact 13-year-old Courtney Wright spoke at the rally. She was one of ‘Saturday’s best speakers’ according to the Telegraph’s Alison Pearson, who was there. And no, says Alison, the crowd were not ‘racist’.

‘Culture based on lying’

Dr David Starkey
Dr David Starkey

Exodus 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness;

Historian Dr David Starkey takes the problem with the establishment further on Spiked Online. He says: ‘Unfortunately, the ways in which our elites behave today is much like the elites of the latter days of the Soviet Union. It is an entire culture based on lying. Lying about output, about finance, about freedom. … If you govern by shutting people up rather than debating problems openly, those problems eventually grow to become feverish.’

He scorned ‘this idea that immigration is ‘good for the economy’, etc’ and traced the rot back to 2010. ‘The fact that David Cameron, a supposed conservative, professed his greatest achievement was gay marriage was absolute insanity. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, Britons have effectively been living under a uniparty since John Major. It’s no wonder people are so furious.’

Dr Starkey concluded with a plea ‘To roll back the power of those elites who have lied to us about transgenderism, about multiculturalism and globalism.’

But he warned ‘these ideas .. are so deeply entrenched’ within the establishment. ‘We can change these things. But we can only change it if the right here is as well-prepared as Trump was for his second term – or, I would argue, better.’

The spiritual dimension

Although Dr Starkey does not really ‘Do God’, he is speaking, whether he knows it or not, of the involvement of the spiritual dimension. The godless left are powered by the realm of darkness. Nothing else can explain both the glee over the death of Charlie Kirk and the current language of the elite and their terror of ‘Unite the Kingdom’.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

What Dr Starkey hopes for cannot be done in the flesh. Anyone who tries that will fail. And who better to bring that dimension of a prophetic voice into an emerging political party than Christian Voice members and supporters? Leave your comments below.

PRAY: Pray the ordinary decent people standing for a kingdom united around our Christian heritage are encouraged in the Lord. Pray for the Lord to raise up more prophetic voices in politics today. Thank God for Danny Kruger and pray the Lord will keep him safe and encourage him.

Illegal Migrant Rapist Living in Hotel is Islamic Terrorist

0

An Egyptian asylum seeker who was jailed for raping a woman in London’s Hyde Park is a convicted Islamic terrorist, according to the Daily Mail.

Abdelrahmen Adnan Abouelela, 42, was found guilty in his absence of being part of a bomb-making cell in Egypt and given a seven-year jail sentence on May 5, 2015.

He and six other men were said to have manufactured explosives in a safe house flat to carry out ‘terrorist’ acts such as the bombing of electricity pylons and gas lines.

It has been revealed that Abouelela, a member of the radical Muslim Brotherhood movement, escaped from Egypt before being convicted.

The 42-year-old claimed asylum when he arrived in the UK in April 2023, and was housed in taxpayer-funded hotel accommodation while his application was considered.

Despite the serious nature of his background, the Home Office spent 17 months considering his asylum application. Officials reportedly knew of his bomb-making conviction during this period.

During his time in the UK awaiting a decision, Abouelela was allowed to move freely, even posting a selfie outside the Imperial War Museum North in Trafford, Greater Manchester, last January.

The asylum process was still ongoing when Abouelela raped the vulnerable woman in Hyde Park last November.

What is Britain becoming?

Four men were jailed for a combined total of almost 30 years after a WhatsApp group was used to share terrorism propaganda and arrange funding in support of the banned Islamic State. The men were convicted of disseminating terrorism publications and entering into terrorism funding arrangements.

A 21-year-old man, Ayoub Nacir, was jailed for six years and nine months for sharing extreme violent videos supporting Islamic State on social media platforms, including Telegram, Instagram, and TikTok, and for possessing documents on making noxious substances for use in an attack

On the 7th July 2005, four Islamist suicide bombers targeted the city’s transport network during rush hour.

Explosions ripped through three London Underground trains and a double-decker bus, killing 52 innocent people and injuring over 700 others.

Just two weeks later, on 21 July 2005, a second wave of attacks was attempted—but this time, the bombs failed to detonate.

What could have been another day of national mourning was narrowly avoided.

Except the Lord builds a city

Despite Britain’s Christian heritage, our leaders have passed laws and pursued policies that often run contrary to God’s Word, opening the door for confusion and compromise. In the name of ‘inclusion,’ we have allowed those who serve strange gods and even those linked to terrorism to enter and settle in our land.

The case of Abdelrahmen Adnan Abouelela, is just one stark example. Time and again, we have seen extremists exploiting our freedoms. Yet, even as we have turned away from Him, God has mercifully spared this nation from even greater destruction — preventing further attacks, exposing plots, and protecting lives that could have been lost.

His hand of protection remains over Britain, not because of our laws or leaders, but because of His mercy and the prayers of His people.

Psalm 127:1 Psa 127:1 A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

When can Bob Vylan expect the full force of the law?

Punk-rap duo Bob Vylan have had their next gig cancelled, after frontman Bobby Vylan (real name Pascal Robinson- Foster) made fresh appalling remarks about the late Charlie Kirk while on stage in Amsterdam.

A clip from their performance at Club Paradiso on Saturday went viral, with the singer hitting out at Mr Kirk just days after the American commentator was fatally shot in Utah.

The band were due to perform next in Tilburg, but the venue withdrew.

At issue is not only the mockery of a man slain in front of students, but the pattern of behaviour which has brought Bob Vylan under criminal investigation.

Ask us to come and speak at your church →

Glastonbury led chants

This is not the first time the band’s words have raised alarm. At Glastonbury they led chants of “death to the IDF,” a moment which prompted apologies from both the BBC and the festival organisers, and which Avon and Somerset Police are still investigating.

BBC bosses later admitted the band had been flagged as “high risk” before the show, yet the live broadcast was allowed to continue. BBC chairman Samir Shah conceded the decision not to cut the feed was “unquestionably an error of judgement.”

So questions remain: why did the BBC fail to act when the option was open? Who in authority decided to give the green light in the first place? And why do the police appear slow in addressing clear incitement on a national stage?

Bobbie Vylan, for their part, deny being against Jews, insisting they oppose “a violent military machine.” Yet in their public rhetoric, they vilify former employers as “Zionists” and celebrate causes that edge into hatred.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.

When a man’s murder is trivialised, when calls for death are excused as performance art, and when broadcasters apologise only after the fact, the urgent question is unavoidable: when will the full force of the law finally catch up with Bob Vylan?

Nanosermon: How to please the Lord

A Christian Voice Nanosermon

Watch this nanosermon here:

Nanosermon Script:

How do we please the Lord? Can anything we do please the Lord? Is it necessary to try to please the Lord? And if it is, what things please the Lord?

Now you might think, hang on, I’m a Christian, I trust in Jesus as my Saviour, so God just IS pleased with me. His grace means I don’t actually need to do things to please him.

Hmmm. The expression ‘please the Lord’ occurs just twice in the King James Version. Here’s one occurrence, in the book of Proverbs, chapter sixteen and verse seven:

Prov 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

It’s possible to please the Lord

OK, so, firstly, it must be possible to please the Lord, because scripture shows us a specific benefit from doing just that.

Now having faith pleases the Lord for sure, because we read of Abraham in Genesis chapter fifteen and verse six:
Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

In the book of Hebrews, chapter eleven and verse six, the Bible says:
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

So we are going to take that as a given. Faith pleases the Lord. But secondly, did you notice the word in Proverbs said, ‘When a man’s WAYS please the Lord?’ Not just when a man pleases the Lord because of his faith, but when your WAYS please him. That’s things you do.

It’s not religious works

Now I want to be clear, because you could take this completely the wrong way. You could think, if I spend a bit more time in prayer, or if I read my Bible more, that will please the Lord. Let me tell you, nowhere in Scripture can I see such religious works on their own pleasing the Lord.

Spending more time in prayer doesn’t necessarily please the Lord. Of course you should speak to the Lord in prayer, but it’s your conduct during the rest of your day which determines whether the Lord hears you.

Reading your Bible more doesn’t necessarily please the Lord. Of course you should read it, but if you don’t put it into practice, you are wasting your time.

That word from Hebrews said you must believe that God rewards those who DILIGENTLY seek him, and the reason for seeking the Lord in his word is to discover his ways, know his mind, find what pleases him in your day to day living and then to do it.

Doers of the word

Here’s the Apostle James, chapter one and verse twenty-two:
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

In other words, don’t fool yourself into thinking that just reading God’s word a bit more or spending extra time in prayer will please him. You have to turn faith into action.

Not even church-going or youth ministry or being in the choir will please the Lord when your day-to-day walk is wrong.

It’s quite simple. It’s your obedience to his moral law which will please the Lord. You’ll find God’s law all through your Bible reading. Ask him in prayer to reveal it and to help you keep it.
And then, well, it’s just possible you have a colleague at work who hates you, or some family member who fell out with you. We’ll call them your ‘enemies’, for want of a better term.

So the scripture says that when your ways please the Lord, he will make those enemies be at peace with you. That is a great benefit. I’ve had that experience and I want you to have it too.

Be obedient, not religous

God will turn their hearts to you if your ways please him. But don’t be religious, be obedient. And be joyful about it. Because here is the other occurrence of the expression ‘please the Lord’, in Psalm sixty-nine and verse thirty:

Psalm 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

So you see that it’s not religious works, but a humble heart full of praise doing works of righteousness which pleases the Lord and brings peace into your life.

Christian MP defects to Reform

Christian Conservative MP Danny Kruger quits party for Reform UK

A leading Christian MP has defected from the Conservatives to Reform.

Danny Kruger made the announcement at a press conference in London.

In July 2025 Danny Kruger made a speech in which he urged Parliament to rediscover its Christian foundations.

He warned that Britain is ‘facing moral collapse and institutional confusion both in church and state.’

‘This government is over!’

Danny Kruger MP - National Conservatism Conference, UK 2023
Danny Kruger MP – National Conservatism Conference, UK 2023

Mr. Kruger has been an MP since 2019, and sat on Kemi Badenoch’s team as a shadow work and pensions minister.

The East Wiltshire MP – who has said he would not be triggering a by-election – said the Conservatives were no longer the main party of opposition.

He said: ‘The flame is passing from one torch to another. The old torch, once so great, is guttering, fluttering, held weakly in uncertain hands, but the new torch is already alight, already brighter than the one it is replacing, held aloft in firm and confident hands.’

The MP said that he would now help Reform prepare for government, using his experience as a former minister and political secretary to Boris Johnson in Downing Street.

‘It’s going to be difficult because we are planning change on a scale that the system has not seen since the modern Civil Service was created in the 19th century,’ he said.

‘This work is going to be hard, and it will be opposed by the system, and that’s why we need to be radical, taking on the vested interests and the incumbents who always defend the status quo.’

‘This is my tragic conclusion, the Conservative Party is over, over as a national party, over as the principal opposition to the left,’ he added.

Danny Kruger has become the first sitting Conservative MP to defect to Reform, a move the Telegraph describes as a ‘major blow’ to Kemi Badenoch.

Parliament rebuked over ‘great sin’

In July, Mr. Kruger’s speech took a grave turn as he reflected on recent legislative moves. Within the space of three days, he said, ‘Parliament authorised two “great sins”: abortion up to birth and assisted suicide for the elderly and disabled.’

‘We gave our consent to the greatest crime: the killing of the weak and most defenceless human beings,’ he said solemnly. ‘It was a great sin.’

Speaking from St Stephen’s Hall—the historic space that once housed the royal chapel and served as the model for the current House of Commons, the MP reminded colleagues of the deep Christian roots upon which British democracy was built.

“Our democracy is founded on Christian faith,” he said. “This Parliament remains the law-giving power of the Church of England.”

He noted that even today, every parliamentary session opens with prayer and that the Church of England remains a national chaplaincy.

“Every square inch of England belongs to a parish,” he said, “and every citizen is, in a sense, a member—even if they never attend church.”

In a moment rarely seen in Westminster, Kruger publicly repented on behalf of the House for what he described as the deliberate destruction of life. ‘If, standing here, I have any power to repent on behalf of this House, I hereby repent of what we did.’

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

A nation and Church in confusion

The MP drew parallels between the current disarray in both the Church of England and the British state. He criticised the Church for lacking clear leadership and doctrinal unity, noting the uncertainty surrounding the appointment of the next Archbishop of Canterbury.

‘The Church is riven by deep disputes… It is literally leaderless,’ he said.

He argued that the country itself is suffering a similar crisis of identity: ‘We are unclear in our doctrines and governance. We are culturally and morally precarious.’

Mr. Kruger’s concern extends to the loss of national confidence and a growing inability to distinguish right from wrong—especially when it comes to life, truth, and responsibility.

Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; And before honour is humility.

A call to recover our Christian identity

Mr. Kruger traced unique national identity of England in particular back to its Christian foundations, calling the country the “prototype” of Christian nationhood. He described how, over a thousand years—from Alfred the Great to Queen Victoria—English institutions were shaped by the Bible.

‘The story of England is the story of Christianity operating on a people to make the institutions and culture that have been uniquely stable and successful.’

He argued that the rule of law, care for the weak, and freedom of conscience only make sense in a Christian worldview. Without God, the secular ideal collapses.

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?.

Secularism has failed—time to return to God

The MP strongly rejected the 20th-century idea that society could function without reference to God. He warned that the dream of a “neutral” public square has led not to liberty, but to social breakdown and spiritual decay.

‘In the absence of the Christian God, we do not have pluralism and tolerance. We simply create a vacuum into which other aggressive ideologies enter.’

All politics, he said, is ultimately religious. And Britain must decide: return to its Christian heritage—or be ruled by new, godless creeds.

Christian Voice calls on believers to pray for Parliament, for revival in the Church, and for moral clarity to be restored in the governance of our nation.

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Oxford Union: What Charlie Kirk’s death reveals about the godless left

The news of Charlie Kirk’s death has shaken many, not only in America but also here in Britain.

Mr. Kirk had always spoken of the importance of creating spaces where people could have real conversations where faith, truth, and even criticism of Christianity could be discussed openly.

His passing has now brought into sharper focus the rising hostility faced by Christians who dare to stand firm in public debate.

Christians are commanded not to return hate for hate but to love even those who persecute us. Kirk’s example — engaging with those who disagreed with him was a reminder that the Gospel is never advanced by silence or retreat, but by faithful witness.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

The hatred of the left

Mr Abaraonye had engaged in a debate with the American conservative activist at the Oxford Union in May | YOUTUBE
Mr Abaraonye had engaged in a debate with the American conservative activist at the Oxford Union in May | YOUTUBE

The events surrounding Oxford Union and the grotesque celebration of Charlie’s death by The president-elect of the Union reveal something deeper.

George Abaraonye sent a celebratory message around a WhatsApp group chat after the news that Mr Kirk had been shot during an event at Utah Valley University. The leaked messages have been widely shared on social media.

They show Mr Abaraonye writing: Charlie Kirk got shot, left f**** go”. A separate message, believed to be from his Instagram account, read:

“Charlie Kirk got shot loool” – an elongated version of the “laugh out loud” acronym.

The Oxford Union was, lest we forget, founded in 1823 as a civilised debating society. Even today, it boasts that it is at the most prestigious debating society in the world, whose roots lie in free speech.

Just three months ago the Late Mr. Kirk was in that same Oxford Union, speaking with the students, sharing his views, even being interviewed by George Abaraonye.

All the time George was debating with Charlie Kirk at the Oxford Union, acting quite reasonably, asking him civilised questions, he harboured this visceral hatred for Charlie Kirk in his heart.

There is Charlie talking innocently to someone who will gleefully celebrate his death just weeks later. But the ghoulish delight of George Abaraonye is widespread among the godless left.

Social media is seething like maggots on a carcase with expressions of hatred for Charlie Kirk and elation at his murder.

There is footage online of pro-abortion students at the University of Montana laughing about Charlie Kirks death.

The celebrations of the death of this young Christian father-of-two who believes the Bible and expounds its truth carefully and reasonably even reached into the United States Congress, where Democrats disrupted a minute silence.

Why did they hate the Lord?

Our Lord Jesus was hated because he exposed and opposed evil deeds.

John 7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

Number two is when the Lord was sending his disciples out into the world, in chapter fifteen:

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

This week we saw the hatred of the world for the testimony of Jesus and for his followers played out firstly in an assassination bullet and then in the gleeful celebration among the wicked which followed the news that a man of God had been murdered.
Uncomfortable parallels
There are uncomfortable parallels with the joy expressed by Muslims and leftists after the massacre of Jews on 7th October 2023.

There is a demonic spirit at loose here, taking pleasure in and deriving power from the shedding of innocent human blood.

What draws the atheists and the Muslims together is this word from Proverbs, where the wisdom of God is speaking.

Prov 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

We have seen that in our day with our own eyes. We have seen Muslims loving the death of Jews and now Secularists loving the death of a Christian evangelist and prophet.

We might want the world to engage in reasonable dialogue, just as Charlie Kirk advocated, and maybe that should be our prayer and it should certainly be how we go about things, but we must never think the world is actually like that.

The Lord Jesus said:
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Standing firm in truth

Charlie Kirk’s legacy must be more than headlines about his death. It must challenge us to speak boldly, to love truthfully, and to stand firmly for Christ in a world that despises Him.

We cannot allow fear or hostility to silence us. The Gospel is still “the power of God unto salvation”, and Christians must be prepared to carry it into every arena, even where we are hated most.

Christian Voice wins Community Outreach Award

Christian Voice UK won our first ever award by the grace of God at the GX Awards on Saturday 6th September 2025 at a glittering evening ceremony in Birmingham Town Hall.

We won the category of Community Outreach of the Year for our 19-year-old Open Air Prayer held monthly at West Ham in London.

What began as a morning of prayer overlooking the site of a proposed ‘megamosque’ on 6th January 2007 became a monthly event, then an outreach of prayer for the nation held every first Saturday in the month, rain or shine.

Honoured to be nominated

Christian Voice National Director, Stephen Green, said today: ‘We were so honoured just to be nominated among such a distinguished roll-call of community events. To win the prize and be presented with the award was on another level.

‘I must congratulate Annette B. on organising such an encouraging and uplifting awards ceremony, complete with high-class catering. It’s a lot of work, but it is so valuable to recognise the Christian community.

‘We do our best to feature a leading Gospel singer at every meeting. For example, on the morning of Saturday 6th September 2025 our praise and worship was led by Sarah Teibo, who has herself previously won Best Female Vocalist at the GX Awards.

‘Indeed, we finished the morning’s prayer at 1pm and I had to catch no fewer than four trains to reach Birmingham in time for the GX Awards.

‘My wife Judith drove up from our home in West Wales and it was lovely to share the award with her on the night. I must also thank all those who prayed for us to win. Your prayer was answered as our efforts in bringing the Bible to bear on the issues of day, seeing what scripture says about current events, was recognised. Praise the Lord for that.’

Why is the BBC marginalising Christianity?

The BBC has announced a new series of 14 programmes under the title ‘Prayer and Reflection’.

Beginning 14 September 2025, the season will feature services and ceremonies from six of the ‘major faiths’ represented in the UK.

It includes programmes covering Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, and Sikhism.

Each Sunday morning, viewers will be invited into what producers describe as “sacred spaces” to share in prayer and devotion.

From synagogues and mosques to gurdwaras, temples, and monasteries, the programmes seek to highlight Britain’s religious diversity.

The intention, according to the BBC, is to show how prayer and reflection form a central part of spiritual life across different traditions.

This is an ambitious project. But it also raises important questions about how Christianity, the faith that has shaped the nation for centuries, will sit within such a multi-faith showcase.

Christianity among many

Within the schedule, Christian worship is certainly represented. Services will be broadcast from Presbyterian, Catholic, Pentecostal, and Anglican churches, culminating in a Christmas service from St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh. Yet these appear as part of a broader collection of traditions, rather than the backbone of the series.

To many, this reflects the BBC’s desire to be ‘balanced and inclusive’, offering each faith a voice in the public square. When Christianity is presented as one among many, its historic role as the foundation of British life and culture risks being diminished.

It is worth remembering that Christianity is not only part of our national story, but the root of it. The Bible shaped our laws, our education, our freedoms, and even the language we speak.

Christ is the only way

It is clear that the guiding principle of Prayer and Reflection is ‘inclusivity’. The BBC wishes to reflect the diversity of faith within modern Britain, showing that each tradition has something to contribute to the national conversation.

There is much to commend in giving a platform to minority communities who rarely see their forms of worship represented on screen. It allows viewers to learn, to reflect, and perhaps to better understand their neighbours.

And yet, when ‘inclusivity’ becomes the main measure of success, there is a danger that truth is obscured. Christianity is not one option among many, but the faith which declares Christ as “the only way”

John 14:6 ‘Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

An opportunity for reflection

Despite these concerns, the BBC’s new season does present an opportunity for Christians to connect with God. It is a reminder that prayer and worship to the one and only true God remain part of the rhythm of life for millions of people in the UK. At a time when secular voices are often the loudest, that in itself is striking.

The call of the church is not to compete for airtime, but to proclaim Christ clearly.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

If nothing else, Prayer and Reflection invites us to think again about what it means to be a Christian nation in a ‘diverse society’.

Nanosermon: David Recovered All

0
NanoSermon0041

Nanosermon Script:

Let’s read from First Samuel, chapter thirty, as David and his men return to their base at Ziklag from the land of the Philistines.

And it’s not good.

1Sam 30:1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

What has the enemy taken?

I don’t know what the enemy has taken from you. I don’t know if it is children, or a home. or money, or relationships, or love, or even faith. But whatever it is, here’s a lesson from scripture.

Point 1: It’s OK to weep, to be in anguish. They ‘lifted up their voice and wept until they had no more power to weep’. Let’s go on, in verse six:

1Sam 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

Point 2: Don’t stay in that place. Don’t lose heart. Take it to the Lord. Read an encouraging word in the Psalms. ‘David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.’ So can you. Verse seven:

1Sam 30:7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

Seek the Lord for what to do

Point 3: Don’t blast off on your own, but equally, don’t sit around. Seek the Lord for something to do. We don’t have an ephod today, but we do have other believers. Pray with them, fast with them, see what they say; see if anyone has legal knowledge, strategic knowledge, or if two or three will have the same idea.

So David now has his plan. Then he had a stroke of, we won’t say ‘luck’, we’ll say the grace of God. He came upon an Egyptian boy who was ready to inform on the Amalekites. You see, when you do some simple stuff, you can rely on the Lord to do something left-field, something surprising, something miraculous, a game-changer. The boy led David to the enemy. Here’s verse sixteen.

1Sam 30:16 And (the Amalekites) were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah. 17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: … 18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away:

Take action

Point 4: Take action. Earlier in David’s career, he said the battle was the Lord’s, but he still had to sling a stone at Goliath. Verse nineteen:

1Sam 30:19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.

Point 5: The enemy has no business taking stuff from you. He’s feasting and dancing, laughing at you, but you are coming up on him. It may not be over in a couple of days. You may have to fight for months, even years. But the word of the Lord is this: ‘David recovered all.’

Points to take away

So what have we learned?

Encourage yourself in the Lord.
Seek the Lord for something to do.
Cover it in prayer.
Seek the help of your prayer partners.
Make your plan and carry it out.
Look out for the Lord’s divine intervention.
Expect a miracle.
Don’t ever give up.
Don’t ever say it can’t be done.
You can do what they did.
You can have the last laugh.
Like David, you can recover all.

Why did an MP side with disgraced ‘Surrey Pride’?

0

A feminist campaigner has spoken out after being ejected from the recent ‘Pride in Surrey’ event.

Jo Bartosh, a veteran journalist and long-time advocate for women’s rights, said she was ordered to leave by four security guards after raising safeguarding concerns. Ms. Bartosh had been recording conversations for a podcast when security closed in and escorted her from the premises.

The Telegraph has the story

The Spiked Online journalist maintains she was calm and respectful, speaking with attendees and Zöe Franklin, Liberal Democrat MP for Guildford. It was shortly after her exchange with the MP that ‘security staff’ insisted she leave.

“This is what ‘no debate’ looks like in practice,” said Jo Bartosch. “Asking polite questions about the safety of children should never be treated as a threat.”

Political intervention raises questions

Liberal Democrat MP for Guildford.
Zöe Franklin- Liberal Democrat MP for Guildford.

So what was the role of MP Zöe Franklin in the expulsion of Jo Bartosch? The journalist alleges that her removal followed the intervention of Ms. Franklin, both present at and supportive of the event. A Liberal Democrat spokesman said: “This is entirely false – Zöe did not ask officials to remove anyone from the pride event.” She may not have ‘asked’ but she appears to have reported her conversation to them. The Bible condemns those who side with the wicked:

Psalm 71:10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, … have pleasure in them that do them.

The MP insists she has no official ties to ‘Pride in Surrey,’ so her intervention is an even more worrying sign of politicians protecting the wicked from scrutiny.

Ezek 11:2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:

Why are our elected representatives more concerned with protecting the reputation of an event like ‘Pride’ where pederasty became embedded? The same attitude among our arrogant elite has also put multiculturalism ahead of protecting young girls in the Muslim grooming scandal. Has MP Zöe completely lost her moral compass in departing from the ways of the Lord? The Bible says:

Isa 29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Disputed claims on safeguarding

The row has been fuelled further by conflicting statements about police oversight. ‘Pride’ organisers declared on their website: ‘Surrey Police have made it explicitly clear that there are no concerns’ about the organisation.

Lisa Townsend, Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner, swiftly corrected the record, stating that Surrey Police had never made such a declaration. That clarification is welcome, especially as the force previously welcomed ‘Pride’ predator Stephen Ireland into their operations and painted patrol cars in rainbow colours. The Lord Jesus said:

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

It remains to be seen whether Surrey Police are truly repentant, while ‘Pride’ event organisers are prepared to lie about safeguarding assurances and throw out anyone who dares them questions. Truth, transparency and accountability appear as vanishingly small among the LGBT network as those qualities are among today’s elite in general:

Isa 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

A legacy of scandal

The backdrop to this controversy cannot be ignored. ‘Pride in Surrey’ returned this year despite the jailing of its co-founder, Stephen Ireland. He was convicted in March then sentenced in June 2025 to 24 years for buggering a 12-year-old boy he groomed on homosexual contact site Grindr. This predatory history should place safeguarding at the centre of discussion. That it is instead used to silence those who raise legitimate questions speaks volumes about the extent of the web of depravity in Surrey Pride.

The predatory paedophile both ran Pride in Surrey and was its safeguarding officer before his conviction. Watch our video:

Stephen Ireland’s conviction should have dealt a devastating blow to public confidence in the organisers’ commitment to safeguarding. Even Surrey County Council withdrew its support in July, saying the event could not credibly claim to represent the entire LGBTQ+ community. Yet despite these concerns, the festival went ahead, buoyed by the support of Guildford MP Mrs Franklin. For survivors of abuse and those campaigning for child protection, the decisions of both ‘Pride’ and the MP are a slap in the face.

Free speech and the fight for safeguarding

At its core, the Bindel incident speaks to a broader climate where legitimate safeguarding concerns are branded as hostile, and campaigners are vilified rather than heard. In an age which professes heightened awareness about child protection, this reversal of priorities is hypocritical and alarming.

Instead of dismissing critics, organisers and their allies in Parliament should welcome scrutiny as a sign of accountability. But they don’t. Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus said:

Luke 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

And the psalmist assures us that judgment will fall on all those like Zöe Franklin and her many colleagues who think they know better than the almighty lawgiver:

Psalm 119:21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.
