How did the BBC become a Fallen Giant?

BBC director general and News CEO resign over Trump documentary edit
BBC director general and News CEO resign over Trump documentary edit

The BBC’s Director General Tim Davie and Head of News Deborah Turness have resigned. This follows revelations that a Panorama documentary misled viewers by editing a speech by the U.S. President Donald Trump.

The controversy, first reported by The Telegraph, had already exposed internal concerns about editorial bias and the broadcaster’s growing detachment from impartial journalism.

Mr. Davie’s resignation statement admitted that while “the BBC is not perfect,” the recent uproar had “understandably contributed” to his decision to step down. He conceded that “mistakes have been made,” and that as Director General, he must take “ultimate responsibility.”

Ms. Turness, who also resigned on Sunday night, acknowledged that the Panorama fallout had “reached a stage where it is causing damage to the BBC,” asserting that “the buck stops with me.” Yet, she dismissed claims that the broadcaster was “institutionally biased.”

Her defence, however, has done little to calm the storm.  The resignation of two senior leaders signals not accountability but the collapse of public confidence in an institution long accused of manipulating narratives to suit ideological agendas.

Political reactions

Political reactions reflect the growing polarisation around the broadcaster. Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey called the resignations “an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf,” but added: “The BBC isn’t perfect, but it remains one of the few institutions standing between our British values and a populist, Trump-style takeover of our politics.”

By contrast, Reform UK’s Nigel Farage demanded “wholesale change,” urging the government to appoint leadership with “a record of turning companies and their cultures around.” His words echoed a broader public sentiment, the BBC’s moral authority has eroded, and only radical reform—or even abolition of the licence fee—can restore trust.

Sir Ed, however, is the one who has let the cat out of the bag. His is an admission that the establishment see the BBC as their propaganda channel. By the way, ‘Our British values’ are said to be: ‘democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs’. The elite stitched them together and imposed them and the BBC promoted them. No-one voted for them. One very assertive religious demographic ignores them completely.

During Tim Davie’s time in charge, reports the Telegraph, both license-fee-payers and viewing figures have dropped while personnel have increased.

The Genesis

According to the Telegraph, a 19-page document, written by former BBC editorial adviser Michael Prescott, accuses executives of dismissing legitimate concerns from academics about biased historical narratives on slavery, colonialism, and the Irish famine. It also criticises the editing of Donald Trump’s speech in ‘that’ Panorama documentary.

Ironically, the BBC’s much-touted “fact-checkers” of ‘BBC Verify’ were silent when the deception came from within. It raises a profound question, who holds the watchdog to account when it becomes the propagandist? For an institution that frequently lectures the world about misinformation, this misrepresentation is deeply damaging.

Separately, BBC Arabic was found to have downplayed Israeli suffering in its Gaza coverage, allegedly rushing Hamas claims to air without verification.

Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord.

John 8:32 – “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Silence on the Trans Debate

The Tavistock Centre

Another scandal now unfolds from within. A leaked memo also accuses the BBC’s internal culture of “effective censorship” on “transgender” reporting.

Michael Prescott revealed that certain “LGBT”  correspondents refused to cover gender-critical stories, even when major developments, such as the closure of the Tavistock gender clinic which dominated national headlines.

These findings support long-standing allegations that gender ideology has silenced fair debate within Britain’s largest media institution. Such one-sided reporting, not only erodes the BBC’s impartiality but also gaslights the public on one of the most sensitive social issues of our time.

Isaiah 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street.

Woke History and Rewritten Realities

The BBC has also been accused of presenting ideologically slanted versions of history, where issues such as empire, slavery, and famine are framed through a rigidly moralistic lens. Academics who questioned these portrayals were reportedly ridiculed, ignored or rebuked, suggesting a dismissive and activist editorial culture. Rather than encouraging open debate, executives dismissed dissenting voices as politically inconvenient.

The public expects its broadcaster to inform, not indoctrinate. By presenting contested interpretations as unchallengeable truth, the BBC risks turning education into ideology, a betrayal of its founding mission of intellectual balance.

The BBC’s fixation on guilt and grievance distorts Britain’s story, transforming historical study into a moral crusade. What was once education is now indoctrination.

Jeremiah 6:16 Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein.

In its haste to appear sympathetic to one side, the BBC abandoned basic principles of journalistic integrity.

Such skewed reporting has consequences, it fuels division, inflames antisemitism, and undermines trust in global media. When propaganda replaces balance, truth becomes the first casualty.

BBC Arabic and the Gaza Bias

The memo further alleges that BBC Arabic deliberately minimised Israeli suffering during the ongoing Gaza conflict.

According to internal whistleblowers, its coverage “painted Israel as the aggressor” while rushing unverified Hamas claims to air.

The claim that reports were structured to “paint Israel as the aggressor” is deeply troubling, especially given the BBC’s global influence.

The apparent readiness to believe the worst about Israel — while soft-pedalling the atrocities of Hamas — suggests not just negligence but a moral failing. This imbalance risks fueling antisemitism both in Britain and abroad.

Exodus 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Institutional Bias and Cultural Capture

Beyond individual scandals, the BBC has undergone a slow ideological capture. Its worldview now aligns with left-liberal orthodoxy: pro-globalist, and instinctively hostile to traditional moral frameworks.

It platforms “respected experts” on the Left while labelling others “Right-wing.” It celebrates activism under the banner of diversity yet scorns religious conviction and patriotism.

This isn’t neutrality, it’s activism cloaked in public service. Britain’s taxpayers are funding a worldview, not a broadcaster.

Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Self-righteous

To help us understand the BBC, Anita Singh reported on meeting Tim Davie three weeks ago at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. She said he saw the criticisms over the past 12 months as ‘unwarranted and politically motivated’. He was especially angry with her, the Telegraph’s Arts and Entertainment Editor, for her articles and for the Telegraph for breaking the ‘Trump-gate’ Panorama scandal.

In the same paper, Janet Daley writes that BBC executives and supporters really see it as ‘the nation’s only repository of honest, disinterested news coverage which, by its publicly-owned nature, sets a moral example to the private press whose coverage is dictated by partisan interests.’

She goes on to observe that BBC staff do not see themselves as ‘biased or politically one-sided’. Nor are they ‘defending one particular ideological camp in a fight for public opinion.’ They are secularists, not propagandists. ‘They sincerely believe that they are the defenders of virtue itself: that the causes and loyalties which they support are the embodiment of The Good in a sea of nastiness, prejudice and outright evil.’

Mrs Daley said they must never show shame or self-doubt when promoting their view. ‘They are the defenders of righteousness in a world bedevilled by wickedness and injustice. And that, I’m afraid, is what you are up against if you want to reform the BBC.’

A Call for Renewal

The BBC’s troubles, as revealed by Mr Prescott’s memo, The Telegraph’s investigation and journalists’ insights, are more than a public relations disaster, they are a crisis of moral authority.

The institution as a whole must choose between truth and ideology, transparency and control. Reform is not optional; it is urgent. Its current set of ‘values’ is now seen as laughable:

  • TRUST is the foundation of the BBC – we’re independent, impartial and truthful
  • We RESPECT each other – we’re kind, and we champion inclusivity
  • We are ACCOUNTABLE and deliver work of the highest quality

Until the BBC restores objectivity, Britain’s public service broadcaster will remain adrift — a once-great institution corrupted by the very biases it once sought to expose. It is good that we serve a God of miracles, is it not?

Psalm 94:20 – “Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

Advent cometh: Hills of the North, Rejoice!

Download the PDF here.

Hills of the north, rejoice;
River and mountain spring,
Hark to the advent voice;
Valley and lowland, sing;
Though absent long, your Lord is nigh;
He judgment brings and victory.

Isles of the southern seas,
Deep in your coral caves
Pent be each warring breeze,
Lulled be your restless waves:
He comes to reign with boundless sway,
And makes your wastes His great highway.

Lands of the East, awake,
Soon shall your sons be free;
The sleep of ages break,
And rise to liberty.
On your far hills, long cold and grey,
Has dawned the everlasting day.

Charles Oakley was rector of Holy Trinity Church, Wickwar in Gloucestershire.
Charles Oakley became Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Wickwar in Gloucestershire in 1856.

Shores of the utmost West,
Ye that have waited long,
Unvisited, unblest,
Break forth to swelling song;
High raise the note, that Jesus died,
Yet lives and reigns, the Crucified.

Shout, while ye journey home;
Songs be in every mouth;
Lo, from the North we come,
From East, and West, and South.
City of God, the bond are free,
We come to live and reign in thee!

Text: Charles Edward Oakley, 1832-65
Music: Martin Shaw, Tune: Little Cornard, Meter: 6 6 6 6 8 8

Feel free to copy and paste Oakley’s words for your own congregation this Advent.  Advent begins on Sunday 27th November this year (2016).  It is a time of preparation for the coming of the Lord in the year-book of the Church of England, England’s established church.  But you don’t have to be Anglican to sing it!

Charles Oakley’s life

Charles Edward Oakley M.A. was born near Chatham in Kent in 1832.  He was educated at Rugby School and Pembroke College, Oxford, and then at Magdalen College as a Demy (scholar), he took a First Class in Literae Humaniores (Greek and Latin literature and philosophy) in 1854, and a First Class in Law and Modern History (1855), when he was also Johnson Theological Scholar (1855).

He entered Holy Orders in 1855 and served as a chaplain to the army in the Crimean War (1855).  He became rector of Wickwar, Gloucestershire (1856-63) and then later Rector of St. Paul’s, Covent Garden, London in 1863.

He died at Abergele, near Rhyl, North Wales on 15th September 1865 after a tragically short incumbency.  In short, Oakley was a very clever as well as a holy young man.

His fine Missionary hymn, “Hills of the north, rejoice,” appeared in Bp. T. V. French’s Hymns adapted to the Christian Seasons, and the Hymnal Companion in 1870. (John Julian, Dictionary of Hymnology, Appendix, Part II (1907)) The tune now associated with the hymn, Little Cornard, was written by composer Martin Shaw in 1915.

Beware of the modern version!

Above are C.E.Oakley’s original words.  The modern version of this hymn (scroll down in the link) still carries an advent message, but uncomfortable notions like ‘judgment’ and ‘victory’ have been expunged.  Jesus becomes a personal saviour who doesn’t reign any more.  In the last verse, ‘they’ come, not ‘we’.  And rather than ‘live and reign’, with all the responsibility and action that implies, ‘they … find their rest’.  Maybe the Victorian sentiments are politically incorrect these days, but Oakley captured the majesty of Christ and created something singable and uplifting, an inspiring hymn full of hope and destiny.

Based solidly on scripture

There is some Victorian romanticism in the Southern Seas and so on, but even there the hymn is inspired.  The rhymes and construction are simply faultless.  Each verse has its four lines of geography and its final two lines of triumphant theology.  Note the hymn has nothing to do with British imperialism.  Oakley was not imagining himself in Gloucestershire but in Jerusalem, in the ‘City of God’.

The scripture message he had in mind starts in the Psalms:

Psalm 107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; 3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

In Isaiah (and in Jeremiah) it becomes a promise to regather Israel:

Isaiah 43:5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; 6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; (cf Jer 16:14-15, 23:7-8, 31:8)

Finally, in the Gospel, our Lord himself applies the great gathering to his believers:

Luke 13:29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

That is what the hymn is about.  More could be written on it.

Copy and Paste

Once again, you don’t have to be an Anglican to sing this great hymn.  It will grace and bless any church.  Remember there is no longer any copyright on Oakley’s words, so you can indeed feel free to copy and paste them for your own congregation.  To hear the tune, click here (opens in a new tab).

King’s & William’s most important project!

His Majesty King Charles and His Royal Highness William Prince of Wales deciding what is most important.
His Majesty King Charles and His Royal Highness William Prince of Wales deciding what is most important.

The Telegraph’s headline said: ‘King and Prince of Wales step out in rare joint engagement’,

Now what in Britain today could be so important that HM and HRH would attend an event together? What is their top priority in a nation in turmoil? Antisemitism on our streets? People unable to afford skyrocketing energy bills? The scandal of welfare stripping a generation of their dignity? De-industrialisation throwing steel workers on the scrapheap? The death-worshipping Euthanasia Bill? The grooming gangs scandal? The collapse of our Christian culture? The looming Muslim invasion?

What is their top priority?

On no! It's Climate Change!
On no! It’s Climate Change!

The Mail revealed the gig was at London’s Natural History Museum, the Cathedral of Evolution, no less. Sky News said it was ‘an environmental engagement’.

Looking closer, The Telegraph’s actual article went on: ‘Father and son attend a ‘Countdown to Cop30’ reception ahead of the climate summit in November’.

It was the elitists’ climate scam that was so important to the two of them, a plush event laid on for the green blob. Or as the Palace website put it: for ‘changemakers, business leaders, and climate ambassadors from around the world’.

Watch this story (or most of it) on Rumble:

HM skipping the climate Jamboree

His Majesty is skipping the ‘Conference of Parties’ Jamboree in Brazil on 6th and 7tth November this year. But not because he has realised the world depends on carbon dioxide, that the climate scare is a money-making hoax, that ordinary people have had enough of being told what vehicles to buy and how to heat their homes and paying through the nose for green levies to support the green blob, and that repeal of the UK’s unbiblical Climate Change Act is now just a matter of time.

Nor because he has read what the Lord tells rulers like him:
Ezek 45:9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord GOD.

HM may not be going, but he who has seen the son has seen the father, as we read: ‘Prince William will attend the global conference in Belem, on the Amazon Delta, on behalf of his father and will deliver a speech.’

King’s history in climate scaremongering

Prince Charles (as he then was) calling for a 'war-like footing' at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021
Prince Charles (as he then was) calling for a ‘war-like footing’ at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021

The King has history in climate scaremongering. He addressed his first Cop summit in 2009, as Prince of Wales. That was in Copenhagen at Cop15. He warned global leaders that the ‘eyes of the world’ were upon them. Probably in envy at all the fine dining.

At Cop26 in Glasgow, in 2021, as HRH Prince Charles, the king claimed a ‘war-like footing’ was needed to tackle what he called ‘the climate crisis’. He went on to tell the assembled dignitaries including UK PM Boris Johnson and UN Secretary-General (‘World is Boiling’) António Guterres, ‘We know this will take trillions, not billions, of dollars’.

Charles went on: ‘Here we need a vast military-style campaign to harness the power of the private sector.’

There is a word for a political system where politicians recruit the private sector to do their bidding through a combination of political alliances with economic elites, corporatism, state control (dirigism) over economic activity, and financial incentives in exchange for loyalty to the state’s goals. Like it or not, it’s not called ‘partnership’ with ‘stakeholders’, it’s simply called fascism.

Bible opposes king’s fascist dream

In contrast, the biblical model is for the state to maintain order while economic activity depends on small-scale family businesses:
1Kings 4:25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

Scripture objects to state control and monopolies. The prophet pronounces:
Isaiah 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

In 1Sam chapter 8:11-17, the prophet Samuel warned the people against the arrogance and ambitions of kings:
1Sam 8:11 … He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; … 13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 16 … take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, … 17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

And the Prince of Wales joins in

Prince William jetting in to Belem, looking at the scary speech he is about to deliver. (RoyalFamily_WIndsor Instagram)

That is in all honesty the oppressive, fascist system Charles was proposing at COP26. And at COP30, according to GBNews, Prince William was on the same page, moaning to Ed Miliband and Sir Keir Starmer that ‘major corporations are failing to demonstrate sufficient bravery in addressing environmental challenges’.

GBNews said: ‘During his five-day visit for the Earthshot Prize ceremony and Cop30 climate summit, the Prince of Wales is thought to have expressed profound disappointment with private industry’s lukewarm response to the climate emergency.

‘The prince urged the corporate world to “step up to the plate”, highlighting widespread hesitancy among businesses to engage meaningfully with environmental initiatives. His frustration stems from observing that numerous companies remain unwilling to participate actively in climate solutions.’

Just who does he think he is, telling private companies to do the establishment’s bidding, Benito Mussolini?

The Bible opposes them all and extols liberty:

Psa 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
Matt 20:15a Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?

The Great Reset

Klaus Schwab and the then Prince of Wales
Klaus Schwab and the then Prince of Wales

Cop26 should have been held in 2020 but it was postponed owing to the COVID-19 panic. Instead, Charles spent that year promoting the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset, alongside his pal Klaus Schwab, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the head of the IMF, the President of Microsoft, BP, Mastercard and so on.

In this joint World Economic Forum & Royal Family video, which is worth watching in full (1min 40secs) he said:

Charles launches the World Economic Forum's 'Great Reset'.
Charles launches the World Economic Forum’s ‘Great Reset’ in 2020.

‘There is a golden opportunity to seize something good from this crisis. Its unprecedented shockwaves may well make people more receptive to big visions of change. Global crises like pandemics and climate change know no borders, and highlight how interdependent we are as one people sharing one planet.’

‘As we move from rescue to recovery, we have a unique but rapidly shrinking window of opportunity to learn lessons and reset ourselves on a more sustainable path. … We must use all the levers we have at our disposal, knowing that each and every one of us has a vital role to play.’ The ‘levers’ are once again that dirigist system of forcing the ‘more receptive’ people to do what the globalists want.

’More and more pandemics’

In a SkyNews Australia video, Charles is heard (at 3:56 – 4:08) warning: ‘Unless we take the action necessary, and we build again in a greener and more sustainable and more inclusive way, then we will end up having more and more pandemics.’

Still from the WEF Great Reset video
Still from the WEF Great Reset video

Will we indeed? A recent article of ours showed how Germany is ramping up mRNA production just as Bill Gates is funding research on making Bird Flu transmissible to human. In the video, Charles goes on to threaten ‘disasters from global warming and climate change’. Those of course have been promised by climate fanatics for decades and are taking rather a long time to manifest themselves.

And if you remember the WEF promo video, you will be happy and you will own nothing. Because after the Great Reset, they would own it all. Thankfully, by the grace of God, it is not going to happen:

Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Earthshot Prize latest edition

Prince William at a previous 'Earthshot Prize'
Prince William at a previous ‘Earthshot Prize’

The day before the COP extravaganza, on 5th November 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Prince William will be basking in the latest edition of the Earthshot Prize.’

The event will be held, naturally, at Brazil’s ‘Museum of Tomorrow’. And then His Royal Highness will fly off to the Amazon to join 70,000 other elitists jetting in to COP30. A BBC report reveals that the globalists have felled around 100,000 trees in prime rainforest to build an 8-mile long 4-lane highway called Avenida Liberdade (Freedom Avenue). The need for the new highway is not clear from any of the reports. Belem airport is to the north of the city, nowhere near the new road.

’Repair our planet’?

On his royalfoundation.com website, someone speaking for the Prince writes: ‘The Prize will incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years – a critical decade for the Earth.’

The Earthshot Prize has five categories: ‘Protect and Restore Nature, Clean our Air, Revive our Oceans, Build a Waste-free World and Fix our Climate.’

The Bible shows mankind as over the earth but by implication custodians of it:
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Out of that, we should agree with protecting nature, without going gooey-eyed about bats and newts, having clean air to breathe and reducing waste.

Astonishing hubris

But what (it’s tempting to say ‘what on earth’) does the Prince mean by ‘Revive our Oceans’ and above all by ‘Repair our Planet’? He uses the expression all the time, as do the commentators. For example: ‘Prince William and Sir David Attenborough Join Forces to Repair the Planet by 2030 With £50 Million Prize.’ An allied expression, and the subject of one of the five prizes, is ‘Fix the Climate’. But the Prince never actually defines or explains what needs ‘repairing’ or ‘fixing’ by 2030. Maybe the earth’s clutch is wearing out? Or something needs welding? Who knows? Or is it, a cynical thought maybe, just a catchy slogan, a ‘thing of nought’?

Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

The plain fact is, mortal man cannot begin to comprehend the oceans, the climate or their interaction. The entire system was set in place by God himself and it is all sustained by his wisdom and his law-word. The Bible says:
Job 26:12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

(See also: Deut 32:28; Job 26:12, 38:4; Prov 8:27-30; Isa 55:9; Luke 12:54,55; Heb 1:3.)

It follows that pretending to be able to ‘’revive the oceans’ and ‘fix the climate’ is astonishing hubris and stupidity. The project can only appeal to those who have left off to take heed to the Lord. In a sign that the light is dawning, the judges even abandoned the absurd ‘fix our climate’ goal this year in favour of a resilience project.

Sir David Attenborough at Davos telling Prince William the and delegates the world is doomed.
Sir David Attenborough at Davos telling Prince William the and delegates the world is doomed.

HRH launched his vanity Earthshot project in 2020 inevitably at the World Economic Forum alongside that man who believes human beings are a plague on the earth, the evolutionist, atheist and climate scaremonger Sir David Attenborough.’

Human beings are made in the image of God

Here is another David, King David, writing in the Bible, in Psalm 41:
Psalm 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

While in the book of Proverbs which follows the psalms:
Prov 29:7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

Human beings are not a plague, we are made in the image of God:
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Royalty especially should be very aware of what it is written about bad company:
1Cor 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Badly advised

King Charles with (Sir) David Beckham
King Charles with (Sir) David Beckham

His Majesty and His Royal Highness have been badly advised:
Prov 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

So please pray for humble, truthful, honest, God-fearing men prepared to challenge preconceptions to come alongside them. Pray that by the grace of God they might become men whose first thought is the prosperity of their people, rather than that of the elite, the luvvies, the monied and the wokerati they have become used to rubbing shoulders with.

Prince William and Jacinda Ardern at, once again, the World Economic Forum in Davos
Prince William and Jacinda Ardern at, once again, the World Economic Forum in Davos

Again by the grace of God, as Daily Sceptic reports, the wheels are beginning to come off the Net Zero fantasy project. A US report has rubbished the ‘settled science’ dogma,
a US journal has accidentally published its first-ever climate sceptical article, fewer and fewer nations are willing to commit to the sort of policies which will please the green lobbyists, while last year, the president of COP29 in hydrocarbon-rich Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev praised oil and gas as “gifts from God”.

And, you would need a heart of stone not to laugh, but Oatly’s ‘climate doom’ marketing has seen sales plummet. The heavily-engineered, water-intensive, pretend-milk product has bombed. ‘No-one likes being lectured by their latte’ observed Lee Taylor in Daily Sceptic. ‘Commerce works best when it’s honest,’ he observed, drily.

Meanwhile, here in the UK, the Government has admitted to spending a fortune in taxpayers’ money on overseas botched climate projects.

The Belem Highway destroyed 100,000 trees for no discernable purpose.
The Belem Highway destroyed 100,000 trees for no discernable purpose.

Even those involved in the new road cited above are accused of ‘greenwashing’. The Indy reports Kemi Badenoch has challenged the Prime Minister to “find the backbone to ditch Ed Miliband’s net zero fanaticism” and renew drilling in the North Sea, while the Guardian is horrified that both the Conservatives and Reform are ready to repeal the 2008 Climate Change Act.

Can HM & HRH be ‘admonished’?

If either (or both) of those parties find themselves in office after the next general election, which Mr Farage believes could come as soon as 2027, the King could find himself with ministers opposed to the climate catastrophe view he seems to have held for rather too long. In such an event, and in any case, we pray he has the humility to accept the new advice.

The Bible says:
Eccl 4:13 Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.

Is His Majesty that king? If so, if he desires honour, it’s time for humility:
Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

WRITE TO THE KING: ‘His Majesty The King, Buckingham Palace, London, SW1A 1AA’. You can open with ‘Sir’ (although I write: ‘May it please Your Majesty’) and close the letter with the form ‘I have the honour to be, Sir, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant’.

WRITE TO THE PRINCE OF WALES: ‘HRH The Prince of Wales, Clarence House, London, SW1A 1BA’ (Neither HM nor HRH receive correspondence by email.)

Classroom pornography: A Nation with a Death-Wish

0

Two decades after the explosion of free, on-demand pornography online, Britain is reaping the bitter harvest.

The first generation to grow up under its shadow is now entering adulthood, and the results are catastrophic. Far from simply sexualising children, pornography has reshaped how they think about love, relationships, and even human worth.

According to research from the Children’s Commissioner, almost half of young people now believe girls expect sex to involve physical aggression, and 42% think girls enjoy such violence. We are raising a generation whose ideas about intimacy come not from parents or Scripture, but from the gutter of the internet.

Yet, as spiked’s article, “How Porn Has Taken Over the Classroom” puts it, this crisis has not been caused by porn alone. Schools themselves, meant to protect and nurture the young, have become unwitting agents of the “pornocracy.”

How the Schools Were Captured

Teachers, overworked and under-trained are increasingly relying on third-party “sex education” providers for lesson plans and classroom materials. These groups, operating with almost no oversight, are smuggling pro-porn messages into British classrooms.

In 2023, The Times exposed how the educational giant Tes was selling resources for children as young as eleven that discussed anal sex, pornography, and nude selfies. Far from warning children of porn’s dangers, these materials normalised it.

Even worse, resources like “Let’s Talk About Porn,” from South West Grid for Learning told pupils that we “don’t know” whether porn is bad for them — and encouraged them to see it as something that could be part of a “healthy relationship.”

One government-commissioned report, What is Being Taught in Relationships and Sex Education in Our Schools?, revealed that these groups openly promote the idea that “there is nothing inherently wrong with young people seeing pornography.”

Split Banana, one such provider, even encouraged teachers to discuss the merits of “feminist porn” and the importance of “paying for it.”

This is not education, it is indoctrination.

A Death-Wish Among the Elite

No parent demanded this. No manifesto promised it. The imposition of sex education in schools and the subversion of that education by porn-linked activists — was done without public consent. It reflects a deeper rot: a ruling elite that has lost its moral compass and, with it, its instinct for survival.

As Christians, we must call this what it is: rebellion against God’s created order. Scripture is clear that it is parents, not bureaucrats or lobbyists, who bear the duty to teach children right from wrong.

Deuteronomy 6:6–7 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.

Psalm 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

From the beginning, God’s design for sexuality was holy and life-giving, the union of husband and wife. To tear it from the covenant of marriage, to expose children to its counterfeit forms, is to lead them into harm’s way. Christ Himself gave the most solemn warning.

Luke 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

When Child Protection Turns to Promotion

ChildLine, the advice service run by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), produced a an article telling children that “porn is fun to watch” and “sexy to enjoy.”

The content even directed its young readers to look up categories such as “BDSM and hardcore”.

Between April 2015 and April 2021, that video was viewed more than three million times, before being taken down following a campaign and petition by the SSA.

That such a video was ever produced by a children’s charity is a shocking sign of how far our culture has fallen. Those charged with guarding the young have instead led them into temptation. The watchmen have slept, and the wolves have entered the fold.

It is no wonder that Christ warned so solemnly:

Matthew 18:6 Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

The Global Pornocracy

This is not just a British scandal. The same corrupt ideology infects “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) programs worldwide, as Judy’s article on Plan International shows.

Under the banner of “empowerment” and “inclusion,” CSE promotes sexualisation from primary school onwards. It is a global campaign to normalise sin and desensitise the young.

Pornography’s infiltration of classrooms, from London to Lagos, from Birmingham to Bangkok, shows a coordinated worldview at work. It is not accidental. It is a movement that seeks to erase innocence, break down parental authority, and destroy the biblical view of man and woman.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.

Christian Witness in a Dark Age

Christian Voice has twice recently witnessed outside major teachers’ conferences in Birmingham, calling for purity, truth, and parental rights. Those actions were not protests alone — they were acts of prophetic witness.

The Church must speak when the schools have lost their way. We are to be the light of the world, not silent observers while the next generation is defiled.

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

The Failure of Parental Oversight

For too long, parents have been kept in the dark about what is being taught under the name of “sex education.” The RSHE curriculum is often delivered without transparent materials, without parental consent, and sometimes even in secret.

In many cases, when parents ask to see what their children are learning, they are told it is “confidential.” That is not education — it is deceit. Parents are God’s appointed guardians of their children’s hearts and minds.

Ephesians 6:1–2 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother.

Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.

Unless Christian parents take back this sacred responsibility, the pornified culture will do it for them — with disastrous consequences.

The Cost to the Soul of the Nation

This issue is not merely about morality, it is about national survival. When a nation abandons purity, it also abandons its future. A society that sexualises its young cannot sustain family life, nor produce stable men and women fit to lead or love.

Britain today is spiritually adrift, its leaders ashamed of the Gospel, its educators ashamed of innocence. That is why the elites’ obsession with “sex education” has become a form of cultural suicide — a death-wish dressed up as progress.

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

A Call to Repentance and Renewal

This moment calls not for despair, but for action rooted in prayer. We must return to the wisdom of God’s Word, to the holiness of marriage, the purity of childhood, and the sacred authority of parents.

Let the Church rise again as a moral conscience for the nation. Let believers refuse to be silent while children are handed over to the porn industry under the cover of “education.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

How a Convicted Sex Offender Was Set Free

Wrongly-released migrant sex offender Hadush Kebatu claims he was ‘ignored’ by police while trying to hand himself in | UK News | Sky News.

A convicted sex offender who crossed the British channel illegally was mistakenly released from prison. This prompted a frantic two-day manhunt before his recapture and deportation to Ethiopia.

The error is not merely an administrative slip, it is a glaring failure of duty. How could such a man, guilty of assaulting a woman and a 14-year-old girl, ever walk free by mistake?

The system meant to guard our communities instead rewarded criminality. Britain’s bureaucracy has become so tangled in red tape that justice is not only delayed but disgracefully distorted.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.

Confusion, Claims, and Carelessness

Adding insult to injury, Kebatu told Sky News he had tried to surrender to police the day before his re-arrest, claiming an officer ignored his plea.

Yet the Metropolitan Police firmly denied any such encounter, stating “there was no evidence he had approached officers”. They added that his actions on the morning of arrest were more like those of someone trying to evade capture than to confess.

Still, the damage was done, the spectacle of a convicted sex offender giving televised interviews after being paid off and deported only deepens public outrage. The system’s confusion, contradictions, and self-justifications reveal how dangerously adrift Britain’s immigration enforcement has become.

Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

Restoring Order and Moral Clarity

Under the Facilitated Returns Scheme, some illegal migrants receive up to £1,500 to leave voluntarily.

Shockingly, before leaving Britain, Kebatu attempted to apply but was denied, yet still walked away with £500 of taxpayers’ money to “dissuade him from launching legal challenges”.

This contradiction encapsulates a system that cannot distinguish between mercy and madness. Such leniency toward offenders erodes the moral fabric of governance and undermines public faith in justice.

Until our leaders rediscover the courage to prioritise citizens over criminals, this nation will remain vulnerable to the chaos bred by its own misplaced compassion.

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

The Cost of Compassion Without Caution

In defending this debacle, the Government insists our streets are now “safer.” Yet how safe can they truly be when a convicted predator was set loose by error?

The decision to free such an offender before deportation defies reason and undermines public confidence in the justice system. This incident reflects not mercy, but a dangerous naivety that confuses leniency with love.

Britain’s immigration policies have become a theatre of misplaced compassion, where officials prioritise procedure over protection. In their haste to appear humane, they have forgotten the first duty of any government, to safeguard its people.

Matthew 10:16 Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

The Human Cost of Official Carelessness

In another tragedy, a Somali illegal migrant, known to police across four European nation, was housed in Derby at public expense despite his asylum claim being rejected.

That same man brutally stabbed a father-of-three to death in a local bank. This horror was not the work of fate but of official failure.

In Scotland, with migrant hotels full to bursting, Cameron Barracks in Inverness is now being converted to hold more asylum seekers, prompting fury from locals concerned about the strain on public services and community cohesion.
We’ve seen grooming gangs, machete attacks and multiple murders involving illegal migrants, all in just the past few weeks.

A system that shelters those it has already deemed unworthy of refuge is one courting disaster. Each oversight, each misplaced indulgence, costs innocent lives and shatters families.

Britain’s compassion must never again come at the expense of her citizens’ safety.

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Britain’s Failing Experiment in Multiculturalism

Masked Muslim youths take to east London streets to ‘defend our community’ after police banned UKIP march to ‘reclaim’ the area | Daily Mail Online

As noted in an article on GB News, scenes in Tower Hamlets last weekend laid bare the grim reality of Britain’s divided streets.

Masked men patrolled parts of London under the guise of “protecting their community,” while police banned a demonstration by Ukip to avoid offending local sensitivities. Yet the fear and intimidation came not from those prevented from marching, but from the crowds chanting “no face, no case.” This inversion of law and order reflects a country where the authorities tread carefully around certain groups while silencing others.

UKIP said the police had “caved into the Islamists and violated our democratic right to peaceful assembly in Whitechapel this Saturday”.

Such incidents expose the uncomfortable truth that Britain’s multicultural ideal is straining under the weight of reality. When vast areas of the capital become no-go zones for political dissent, and when the police appear reluctant to enforce equal standards of justice, it signals a loss of national confidence. The pretence that all communities share a common vision for Britain is wearing thin, replaced by a quiet acceptance of division and fear.

The warning could not be clearer: tolerance without truth breeds weakness. A society that refuses to defend its values will soon find them replaced by others.

What unfolded in Tower Hamlets was not an isolated disturbance—it was a glimpse of what awaits a nation too afraid to uphold its own principles.

Silence in the Face of Barbarity

The BBC has come under fierce criticism for a shameful reluctance to report on the horrific Uxbridge triple stabbing.

The attack claimed the life of 49-year-old Wayne Broadhurst, a man simply walking his dog, when he was brutally stabbed by 22-year-old Afghan migrant Safi Dawood, a tragedy described by police as a “shocking and senseless act of violence.”

One will wonder why such a story, with its devastating human cost, appeared to receive muted attention from the national broadcaster.

This apparent silence from the BBC has fuelled accusations that the corporation is more concerned with protecting reputations than reporting the truth.

Carole Malone noted on GB News that, despite the sheer brutality of the attack, the incident was barely visible on mainstream bulletins until much later in the day. The charge is a serious one, that fear of “demonising” a migrant offender outweighed the duty to inform the public of a heinous crime. Such editorial hesitancy not only insults the victim’s family but undermines public trust in the integrity of British journalism.

The murder of an innocent man on a quiet London street should have stirred national outrage; instead, it exposed how compromised our media institutions have become.

A free press should be fearless in confronting evil, not cautious in naming it. Britain cannot afford to lose both lives and honesty on the same day.

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression.

A Call to Restore Order and Justice

These back-to-back scandals expose the depth of Britain’s migration crisis and the fragility of its enforcement systems.

When criminals are compensated, victims are ignored, and killers are coddled by bureaucracy, the moral foundations of governance are under siege. It is time to restore integrity, responsibility, and discernment to public office.

Border control must mean more than empty promises, it must reflect the will to protect the nation from those who exploit its mercy.

Britain cannot afford to stumble between compassion and chaos any longer. Justice must prevail, or the nation’s soul will continue to pay the price.
Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

PRAY: Pray for Righteous Leadership and Justice in the Nation. Lord, let truth and righteousness prevail in our land. Expose every act of negligence, corruption, and compromise that endangers innocent lives. Raise leaders who fear Thee and administer justice with integrity. Let every system that rewards wrongdoing be overturned by Your divine power.

Why Is The USA Defending Christians in Nigeria?

Trump threatens US military action in Nigeria over treatment of Christians

The US President Donald Trump has stepped in to defend Christians in Nigeria with a “guns-a-blazing” military action, highlighting the escalating violence against Christians in the country.

This follows the radical Islamic terrorists slaughtering of thousands of believers in the Northern part of country.

President Trump instructed the Pentagon to prepare contingency plans should the Nigerian Government fail to act.

President Trump wrote: “If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns‑a‑blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.

“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”

Meanwhile, US politicians, including Senators Ted Cruz and Riley Moore, echoed his concerns, urging the country to be added to the State Department’s “Countries of Particular Concern” list.

Nigeria Responds

The Nigerian government has denied claims made by president Trump, insisting that religious tolerance remains central to the nation’s identity.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria wrote: “The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians. Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so.”

Yet the reality on the ground—particularly in the northeast and central regions plagued by Boko Haram and violent clashes—tells a far grimmer story for Nigeria’s Christian population.

Psalm 82:3–4 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

Christians Face Daily Threats Amid Nigeria’s Chaos

The northeastern states of Nigeria remain a hotspot for Islamic terrorism, with Boko Haram responsible for over 50,000 deaths and millions displaced since 2009.

Beyond jihadist attacks, the central region faces recurring violence between Muslim herders and Christian farmers, frequently over land disputes but often taking on a religious dimension. Despite official denials from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the suffering of Nigerian Christians continues largely unnoticed by international media, highlighting the chronic neglect and systemic vulnerability of believers in conflict zones.

As the US signals willingness to intervene, the question remains whether the Nigerian Government can protect its citizens or whether Christians will continue to endure persecution unprotected.

Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

The Finnish Court Case: Faith Under Fire in Europe

Persecution of Christians is no longer confined to Africa. In Finland, Member of Parliament Paivi Rasanen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola face the Supreme Court for expressing their biblical views on marriage and sexuality.

Accused of “hate speech,” Rasanen’s 2019 tweet and Bishop Pohjola’s 2004 pamphlet are now at the centre of a trial that could criminalise faithful adherence to Scripture. The prosecution argues that intent is irrelevant, seeking fines and censorship, while the defenders emphasise the universal message of God’s grace.

The case exemplifies a growing trend in Western democracies where Christians are penalised for speaking according to conscience and biblical truth.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

A Global Pattern of Persecution Emerges

From the killing fields of Nigeria to the courtrooms of Finland, a troubling pattern emerges: Christians are under siege worldwide, whether by extremists seeking to destroy them or by secular authorities determined to silence them.

In Nigeria, believers face life-threatening attacks; in Europe, faithful disciples face legal prosecution for upholding biblical principles.

Both scenarios show the erosion of Christian freedoms, reminding the Church that persecution is not an abstraction but a daily reality for millions of believers.

The faithful are called to pray, advocate, and bear witness to the truth of God’s Word, even in the face of intimidation and violence.

Matthew 5:10–12 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven.

Standing Firm in Faith Amid Trials

Christian Voice has repeatedly reported on similar persecution in Nigeria and beyond, highlighting the courage of believers who endure suffering without compromise.

The Finnish case reinforces that even in free nations, the Church must stand firm against laws that contradict Scripture.

Globally, Christians are called not to despair but to witness faithfully, trusting that God sees and will reward endurance.

As threats mount—whether from jihadists in Africa or legal authorities in Europe—the call remains: uphold truth, defend the persecuted, and pray for the persecutors, trusting God’s justice will prevail.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

British hate diversity (just) but love sin

0
Diversity (with acknowledgements to St Mary's Calne)
Diversity (with acknowledgements to St Mary's Calne)
Diversity (with acknowledgements to St Mary's Calne)
Diversity (with acknowledgements to St Mary’s Calne)

Fewer than half of the British public think diversity is strength, a survey has found. The Telegraph has the story.

‘The National Centre for Social Research found 49% of the British public feel that diversity strengthens society, compared to 64% of Americans.’ The research was based on a survey of 2,000 people.

NatCen apparently had the idea that as (a) Reform is high in the UK polls, (b) Donald Trump won the US presidential election, (c) Messrs Trump and Farage are friends and (d) both are sort of populists, ‘it is reasonable to ask whether attitudes in the UK are now aligning with those that that helped to deliver Trump his second term in office. In other words, could Farage’s UK look like Trump’s America?’

Deport Immigrants?

And the answer was ‘No’. ‘Their survey found 42% of people in the UK think there should be legal efforts to deport immigrants living here without permission, compared with just a third (33%) in the US.

When it came to how open their country is to people from around the world, 63% in the US felt this is essential to national identity but only 49% of people in the UK were like-minded.

Alex Scholes, research director at NatCen, said: “The idea that Britain is more socially liberal than America doesn’t hold up across all issues.”

UK more liberal on abortion

On abortion, contraception and same-sex marriage, the polling results reversed. UK people were found to be more liberal in their attitudes than their US counterparts.

The vast majority (92%) of people in the UK said contraception being widely available is good for society, compared with 78% in the US. Around six in 10 (59%) people in the UK think same-sex marriage being legal is good for society, but only around a third (34%) said so in the US.

Nearly nine out of 10 people (86%) in the UK think abortion should be legal in all or most cases but fewer than two-thirds (63%) felt this way in the US.

What explains the difference?

‘Diversity’ can mean different things. In the United Kingdom, one aspect of ‘diversity’ is now firmly associated with multiculturalism. That ideology and policy has resulted in a flood of Muslim migrants and an increasing and well-publicised crime spree, especially crimes of a sexual nature.

The UK public are now appalled and frightened for their families. They are conscious that they never voted for multiculturalism that they were lied to by the political elite about immigration, that the elite even scorn our heritage and that it is working out very badly indeed.

Deut 8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

The United States, on the other hand, was built on immigration. Its population is more racially-diverse than that of the UK, but less religiously so. Of course there are racial discrepancies, ghettos and no-go areas, but a thread of Christianity runs through, not least in the ability of politicians to offer thoughts and prayers after an disaster.

Having said that, the US has suffered neither a Muslim influx from former colonies not a tsunami of Muslim migrants from close proximity to a neighbouring land-mass. Mexican illegal immigrants are not intent on a religious take-over, even though they may well have a negative impact on services and wages.

Sexual diversity

On transgenderism, that aspect of ‘diversity’ beloved of the woke elite, around two thirds of people in both the US (66%) and the UK (65%) held that men and women cannot change sex. Around a third thought they could, which reveals an uncomfortable level of delusion in both populations. NatCen used the trans expression ‘assigned at birth’ in their question, which may (or not) have skewed the result.

‘Diversity’ can also mean homosexuality, and in this case, with more religious believers in the US to the UK, and that ‘religious believers in the US typically hold more conservative views than their counterparts in the UK’, and with a UK establishment which is overwhelmingly pro-homosexual to the extent of promoting it in schools, in foreign aid, in every public policy and public authority, you would expect UK residents to have been browbeaten in accepting the gay agenda.

It clearly hasn’t occurred to 59% of UK residents and 34% of those in the US, that it is healthy neither to individuals nor the public good when a part of the body designed for the extraction of water from bodily waste is used in sexual activity and when the destructive realities of homosexual life are denied or excused.

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Abortion and freedom of expression

‘Diversity’ does not really involve abortion, but the questions were asked anyway. It is a sad reflection on the level of debate on the abortion issue that so many, both here and in the US, think it is acceptable to put small human beings to death in what should the safest place on God’s earth. Pro-lifers have work to do. Moving to the town centre to ask passers-by to confront the reality of what they themselves were in their mother’s womb could be a way forward.

Psa 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

A crucial difference has also arisen over the last five or six years. In the United States abortion is not promoted by the elite to the extent it is in the UK. Some states have enacted abortion buffer zones and there are attacks on pro-life witnesses, but there is no US-wide restriction on Christian witness at abortion premises as there is in the United Kingdom.

Many more Republican politicians appear to be dismayed, even appalled, by the attack on freedom of expression inherent in abortion centre buffer zones than their right-of-centre UK counterparts.
<h2Contraception

As to contraception, its wide availability and its promotion to the young through sex education has facilitated sexual license and promiscuity. Scripture says:

Lev 19:29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

Over the last sixty years, exactly that result of sleeping around has happened in the United Kingdom. The ‘whoredom’ spoken of in the verse did not have to be paid. ‘Free love’ did the job just as well and became accepted. As a result, the land is now so full of wickedness chants of death are heard in our streets and at a pop concert and a young man openly celebrated the death of a political opponent.

Psalm 12:8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

So to sum up, the British people still just about hate ‘diversity’ when it is applied to immigration and transgenderism but, after sixty years of political pressure from a godless elite, a majority have accepted both homosexuality and abortion. We are truly living in the Days of Lot.

Repentance in the biblical witness does not come bottom-up. It depends on a spirit-filled Godly leader with the courage to proclaim it. Pray for the Lord to raise up such a man in the United Kingdom.

2Chron 23:16 And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the LORD’S people.

Charles: Was Synagogue Attack ‘Out of the Blue’?

2
King Charles meets Jewish worshippers at Heaton Park Synagogue
King Charles meets Jewish worshippers at Heaton Park Synagogue

King Charles visited the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester on Monday 20th October 2025. A video on the The Royal Family Channel shows him meeting members of the local Jewish community. During his visit, His Majesty spoke with some of those present during the 2nd October attack. The King offered his support.

According to ITV News, “I can’t tell you how sad I am,” the King told the group, which included the synagogue’s chairman Alan Levy, who helped to barricade the door, and its president Hilary Foxler.

Attack came ‘Out of the blue’?

But one thing jarred. Later when he met other members of the congregation, the King commented that the attack in Crumpsall, north Manchester, was a “terrible thing to come out of the blue”.

Did it really come ‘out of the blue’?
Did it actually come from nowhere?
Was it really, honestly, completely unexpected?

Antisemitism has been building in the United Kingdom for over two years now, ever since the massacre carried out by Hamas death squads in Israel on 7th October 2023. We have had weekly marches celebrating the fact that 1200 Jewish lives were brutally brought to an end.

The same day as the King’s visit to the synagogue, an Imam in Birmingham encouraged Muslims to ‘show no mercy’ to Israeli football fans. West Midlands Police said they could not guarantee their safety ahead of a match against Aston Villa, whose ground is sited in what now amounts to a Muslim ghetto.

The Islamo-left activists have been demanding ‘Palestine’ be ethnically cleansed of Jews ‘From the River (Jordan) to the (Mediterranean) Sea’.

Earlier this month, we reported that feminists at Goldsmith’s College in London abandoned the female victims of Hamas and rebranded their rape and mutilation as ‘resistance’. In fact, ‘rape’ hardly conveys the despicable actions of men it is hard to believe were made in the image of God. ‘Around a dozen British universities held Palestine rallies to coincide with 7th October.

Professor Michael Ben-Gad
Professor Michael Ben-Gad

In one University, a Jewish professor, Michael Ben-Gad, has had his lectures disrupted by Muslims and leftists. The Community Security Trust (CST) says the Jewish community has faced “relentless antisemitic attacks since 7th October”.

Earlier this year, two men filmed themselves driving around in Manchester targeting Orthodox Jews with a water-pistol, jeering at them from the safety of their car. They were let off by Greater Manchester Police.

Role of His Majesty’s Government

And what of the antisemitism of His Majesty’s Government? Only last month we said Sir Keir Starmer’s announcement that the United Kingdom would recognise a Palestinian State would bring judgment on this United Kingdom.

Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP, UK Prime Minister
Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer MP, UK Prime Minister

After the Manchester Attack, we reported that Sir Keir Starmer had vowed to guarantee the security of Jews in Britain in a form of words reeking of insincerity. Speaking after a Cobra security meeting, he said: ‘To every Jewish person in this country, I also want to say this: I know how much fear you will be holding inside of you, I really do.’

The Prime Minister went on, ‘And so I promise you that I will do everything in my power to guarantee you the security that you deserve, starting with a more visible police presence, protecting your community. I promise you that over the coming days, you will see the other Britain, the Britain of compassion, of decency, of love.

‘I promise you that this Britain will come together to wrap our arms around your community and show you that Britain is a place where you and your family are safe, secure and belong.’

Israel blames Keir Starmer

Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa'ar
Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar

Despite those weasel words, ITV news report that Israel’s foreign minister blamed the UK Government for the Manchester synagogue attack. Gideon Sa’ar said Sir Keir Starmer has failed to curb ‘rampant antisemitic and anti-Israeli incitement in Britain’ in the wake of the massacre in Israel on 7th October 2023.

We show in an article that the UK elite have promoted antisemitism. David Lammy, as His Majesty’s Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, denounced Israel at the United Nations. He added fuel to the charges of alleged genocide by Israeli in Gaza.

Shabana Mahmood MP protesting against Israel
Shabana Mahmood MP protesting against Israel in 2014 in Birmingham

His Majesty’s Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood MP said she was ‘horrified by the antisemitic terrorist attack at a synagogue on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar’. But in 2014 the same Muslim activist MP joined a pro-‘Palestine’ demonstration in Birmingham as part of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

His Majesty’s Government inflamed antisemitism

It is simply not true that the attack ‘came out of the blue’. The BBC reported the day after ‘Members of the Jewish community have said they are “shocked but not surprised” following the attack at a synagogue in Manchester.’

Sir Ephraim Mirvis
Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis said the attack was the ‘tragic result’ of an ‘unrelenting wave of Jew hatred on our streets, campuses, on social media and elsewhere’. His Majesty’s Government have done nothing to stop it, hiding behind ‘freedom of speech’ for the keffiyeh-clad extremists, terrified at the prospect of losing Muslim and leftist votes, never once denouncing them and supporting Israel and Britain’s Jews.

So why did King Charles feel he needed to make such an obviously-false statement?

His ministers, who advise him, are desperate to pretend it’s business as usual in the United Kingdom. They are determined not to acknowledge the growing presence in our midst of millions of people whose aggressive religion commands the murder of Jews. The Koran, at Surah 5:60-64, has Jews ‘accursed’ and ‘turned into apes and swine’.

The Hadith, which are Muslim sacred texts, call for Muslims to kill Jews:
‘You (i.e. Muslims) will fight against the Jews and you will gain victory over them. The stones will (betray them) saying: “O, Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him”.’ (Sahih al-Bukhari 2926 Book 56, Hadith 139)

Prov 8:36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Policy of HMG denies reality

Fiyaz Mughal of 'Tell Mama'
Fiyaz Mughal of ‘Tell Mama’

Despite that, it is the policy of His Majesty’s Government that there is nothing wrong with Islam that a bit of community cohesion can’t put right. That explains why they are at such pains to ensure their Grooming Gangs Inquiry comes up with the ‘correct’ result. In an article for the Telegraph Fiyaz Mughal of ‘tell Mama’ reports that his contacts with civil servants in both the Home Office & the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government are driven by ideology rather than evidence. He said: ‘I saw it for myself, time and time again: a civil service culture that instinctively resists scrutiny of anything involving religion or ethnicity.

‘The moment you even suggest that the ethnicity or faith of perpetrators might be one factor among many worth examining, certain civil servants recoil. They tell you that looking into it might “inflame community tensions”, or “increase hate crimes against Muslims” or “cause policing issues”.’

Zech 8:16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

King himself denies reality

King Charles at the Saudi-funded Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, of which he is Patron.

His Majesty is also Patron of the Saudi-funded Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. In July this year he opened the King Charles III Wing and launched the King Charles III Programme. ITV reports, that Charles described the Oxford Centre as a “beacon of Islamic scholarship”. He said the Centre was ‘underpinned by principles of dialogue, deep understanding and mutual respect, is more imperative than ever in today’s world’.

His Majesty appears to believe all our differences can be sorted out over a cup of tea in the drawing room. There is no ‘mutual respect’ from Muslims or from Islam for Christianity or Judaism.

King Charles at Oxford Centre with a cup of tea.
King Charles at Oxford Centre with a cup of tea.

In a speech at the Oxford Centre in 1993, Prince Charles, as he then was, said, ‘If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world.’

What ‘debt’ might that be our culture and civilisation owes the Islamic world, Your Majesty?

When we look at the terrorism launched onto our streets by the Islamic world just twelve years later in the 2005 London bombings, at the Manchester Arena attack and the London knife attacks in 2017, at the Yom Kippur attack in Manchester we are considering or even abroad to the 2023 massacre in Israel of the Muslim persecution of Christians in Nigeria, His Majesty’s comment has not aged well.

Prov 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Western culture is ‘haram’ to Muslims

The Saudi National Orchestra only play Islamic music
The Saudi National Orchestra only play Islamic music

And let us not forget Western culture is ‘haram’, ‘forbidden’, to Muslims so they confine themselves to their own people. The Saudi National Orchestra (Go on!) demonstrate the point perfectly.

His Majesty may well have counted the previous Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Lord Sachs, as a personal friend, but he is running with the hare and hunting with the hounds in his no doubt sincere support of Manchester’s Jews coupled with his Islamic associations.

His Majesty has been badly advised into a denial of reality.

Jer 9:5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

’Meaning to life’ lies in Jesus Christ

Charles has claimed there is a ‘realisation that Western technology and material things are insufficient, and that a deeper meaning to life lies elsewhere in the essence of Islamic belief.’

To the contrary, this nation’s Christian constitution holds that the meaning to life lies exclusively in the person of the one to whom King Charles knelt at his coronation on 6th May 2023, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

It is Jesus who upholds all things:
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

He alone is the way, the truth and the life and the only way to salvation:
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

As head of the Church of England, the anointed monarch of a constitutionally-Christian nation, let alone a professing Christian, those biblical truths are what His Majesty should be proclaiming from the rooftops.

Write to the King!

Contrary to the multicultural chimera of His Majesty’s Government, scripture says the community cohesion for which they long can only come through our nation’s recognition of and obedience to the King of kings and a clear renunciation of multiculturalism.

We may well come back to examine why Charles is so enamoured of Islam, but in the meatime, pray for repentance for him and his government and for righteous advisors to surround him. As it is written:

Prov 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

WRITE TO THE KING: ‘‘His Majesty The King, Buckingham Palace, London, SW1A 1AA’. You can open with ‘Sir’ (although I write: ‘May it please Your Majesty’) and close the letter with the form ‘I have the honour to be, Sir, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant’. Remind His Majesty of his coronation where he was anointed to rule not in the name of Allah, but that of the Lord Jesus Christ, the undoubted King of kings. (HM does not receive correspondence by email.)

1Tim 6:14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

(We must remember that Scripture says:
Job 4:18 Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
It follows that King Charles is neither wicked nor ungodly, nor is he ever wrong, so far as our comments are concerned. His Majesty only acts and speaks on public affairs on the advice of his ministers. Therefore, if he appears to be wrong, he has been ‘badly advised’. (He may well have badly advised himself, but we don’t know that). His advisors, of course, well they might be wrong or even wicked, which is why we pray for them to be able, truthful, honest God-fearing men.)

BIBLE READING PLAN →

Watch this nanosermon here:

Nanosermon Script:

The twenty-third psalm is the best-loved passage in the whole Bible. We keep sheep on our farm, and I’ll show you how psalm twenty-three moves from a shepherd’s care for his sheep seamlessly to the Lord’s provision for his people.

It’s not a prayer, this, it’s a declaration!

It begins by saying The LORD, or Yehovah, is my shepherd and if that is so, I am not going to be in want or in need. Take that word into your heart.

Moving on to verse two, the shepherd finds, literally, in the Hebrew text, ‘pastures of tender grass’ in which, after they have eaten, the sheep can lie down and chew the cud.

Sheep need water just like us, and they like their water to be not stagnant, not a torrent, just flowing gently, ‘waters of quietness’ in the Hebrew.

He restoreth my soul

Sheep are notorious for only showing they are sick when they’re at death’s door. But if you’re watchful enough you can catch them early, and help the one who is sick to recover.

When David says: ‘He restoreth my soul’ in verse three he means being brought back to full physical health. Your ‘soul’ in the Bible is the Hebrew word ‘nephesh’. Animals have ‘nephesh’. ‘Nephesh’ is your living, breathing consciousness.

A shepherd in those days, and today in the developing world, with non-enclosed fields, will lead their sheep along a safe path out to pasture. Even Judy and I lead our sheep with a bucket of feed.

Moving away from sheep

But David says the Lord leads him ‘in the paths of RIGHTEOUSNESS for his name’s sake’. We’re now moving away from sheep. Sheep can’t do good or evil. But people can. If you are following the Lord, honour his name by walking along his right path. He’ll lead you through his word, but you must follow.

And then, with the Lord as your shepherd, even in the darkest time, you won’t be afraid, because he is with you. Jesus has a rod to fight your enemies, and a staff to support you.

The Lord even prepares a table, laden with food and drink, in full view of your enemies so they can only stand astonished at how well he provides for you. The cup running over says you will have enough to spare and to share. Even today we use an oil-based preparation to treat ailments of our sheep, and to keep ticks and flies off them. For you, anointing with oil is a picture both of healing and of being filled with the Holy Spirit. When you let Jesus be your shepherd, goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life.

Dwell in the house of the LORD

Never forget to thank him, and remain always in his presence. That very last clause of the psalm, to remain always in his house, is a promise to God that only you can make, and only you can carry out. Let’s put it all together. Read it with me:

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (KJV)

King Charles Endorses Sodomy

The LGBT Pride memorial disgraces the National Arboretum.

His Majesty the King is badly advised to lend his authority to promoting homosexuality. When King Charles III unveiled the memorial to “lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender” military personnel at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, it marked his endorsement of sodomy in the UK.

The bronze sculpture, named “An Opened Letter”, honours those who served when being homosexual in the armed forces was illegal and those now serving who identify as “LGBT”. They constantly seek honour, knowing in their hearts that what they are doing is wrong, and His Majesty has given it.

The King’s endorsement sends a signal that the whole establishment are aligning with and even promoting a worldview that redefines sexuality and gender, rather than upholding biblical truth as our Christian constitution demands.

Needless to say, there is no memorial for young men and women in the forces who have been seduced into homosexuality or interfered with by a senior officer. Nothing negative can be said about the destructive, predatory lifestyle of homosexuality. This is worse than his late mother giving her royal assent to same-sex ‘marriage’. The sovereign has lent his prestige in public to an ideology that equates marriage with unbiblical sexual behaviour. The cultural and moral compass of the nation has been reset.

For children growing up in schools and youth programmes, the signal is clear: identity and sexuality are fluid, institutions endorse them, and tradition is set aside. Our elite have taken the people and their children another step down the road to Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.

Children, Identity and Sexuality

Young people today are being told that identity is whatever they feel, and that sexuality is a spectrum to be explored and affirmed. When the highest office in the land symbolically embraces such empowerment, it influences policy, education and public norms.

For children in Britain, this means the era of stable, binary sex and lifelong marriage is replaced by an agenda that elevates expression and self-identification above biological reality. If even the monarchy signals approval, then dissenting voices may feel sidelined.

As the Apostle Paul warned,
1 Corinthians 7:31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

Where does the state’s duty lie? Beneath the veneer of inclusion lies the question of whether children are being protected or experimented upon. If boys or girls are encouraged to “become who they feel they are”, the Church must inquire: What has happened to the creation order.

Genesis 1:27 Male and female created He them.

The Woke Advisers Surrounding the Throne

The opening of the memorial was marked with an unveiling ceremony attended by King Charles: Reuters.
The opening of the memorial was marked with an unveiling ceremony attended by King Charles: Reuters.

The King is surrounded by people steeped in “woke” ideologies: diversity officers, gender-identity consultants, and progressive cultural managers.

These advisers promote a narrative that “inclusivity” means rewriting centuries of moral teaching. By aligning the Crown with such advisers, Britain signals that tradition, faith and biological truth are subservient to identity politics.

The Christian Church will find that when the sovereign endorses a narrative reversing biblical teaching, it weakens the Gospel voice. The Muslims in our midst will notice.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers

Why the UK Keeps Leaning Towards Destruction

Britain’s moral trajectory is troubling. Western nations increasingly see marriage, family, sexuality and gender as mutable rather than fixed.

The UK’s laws, education and public policy have shifted accordingly. When the highest institution endorses that shift, the decay of public morality accelerates.

The broad way is attractive, socially praised, publicly funded, but ultimately leads to loss of meaning, identity chaos and weaker families. Britain appears to be walking that broad way, and when the King endorses its underlying assumptions, scripture shows the people follow.

Nations Taking a Stand Against Sodomy

Some nations still resist the tide of sexual revolution. A pro-sodomy website complains that ‘a total of 65 nations still have laws against homosexuality.’ Nor is the trend completely towards decriminalisation, despite the efforts of western-funded pro-sodomy NGOs.

They say: ‘The latest nation to adopt an anti-gay law is Burkina Faso in West Africa, on Sept. 1, 2025.’ That francophone nation has only recently cast off its ties to the West.

But sadly, from a biblical perspective, ‘About a month earlier, same-sex intimacy was made legal in the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia when the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court on July 29 struck down laws against consensual sodomy and “gross indecency” in private.’

These nations illustrate the counter-cultural but scriptural position: that sexual activity outside the created order is deemed unlawful by God himself and a threat to public morality. They provide a reminder to Britain that legal affirmation of chosen identity and sexuality in the face of the created order is neither inevitable nor free of consequence.

A Call to Church and Nation

In this moment, the Church and all who value truth must ask: where will we stand? The King’s public endorsement of LGBT+ memorialising is not merely symbolic, it is a marker of a deeper cultural alliance.

If Britain continues to lean into identity politics and detatch sexuality from created order, the consequences for children, families and national life will be profound. Yet Scripture offers hope:
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

The Church must not shrink back. We are not without voice. We are not without power. We are called to speak the truth in love. Christians will need to stand firm on God’s word and the truth of the Gospel in our day.

Nurses Expose Britain’s Transgender Moral Confusion

A group of nurses from County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust (CDDFT) have lodged an employment tribunal case for sexual discrimination and sexual harassment.
A group of nurses from County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust (CDDFT) have lodged an employment tribunal case for sexual discrimination and sexual harassment.
Rose (Tyler) Henderson - just a large woman?
Rose (Tyler) Henderson – just a large woman?

At Darlington Memorial Hospital, eight nurses have been hauled before an employment tribunal. This follows raising concerns about being forced to undress in front of a biological male colleague.

The nurses, including Bethany Hutchison, Lisa Lockey, and Karen Danson, complained that “Rose Henderson”, a man ‘identifying’ as a woman, was permitted to use the female changing rooms.

Instead of safeguarding the women’s privacy, NHS managers ordered “kindness training” for the complainants and warned them to “broaden their mindset” and “be more inclusive.”

Ludicrously, the NHS trust are claiming in court that ‘Rose’, whose real name is Tyler and who is built like a brick outhouse, is just like a ‘large woman’.

Nurse Bethany Hutchison told a tribunal how she and colleagues were forced to undergo the training after complaining about a colleague Credit: Iain Masterton

One nurse, a survivor of child sexual abuse, told the tribunal that seeing the male colleague half-dressed triggered flashbacks to her trauma. Others described distress, intimidation, and fear of disciplinary action merely for voicing concern.

To compound the outrage, the same man was reportedly chosen by NHS bosses to lead diversity and inclusion sessions for those who objected to sharing intimate spaces with him.

These nurses, now supported by the Christian Legal Centre, face not only an employment battle but possible misconduct probes by the Nursing and Midwifery Council after ideologically driven public complaints.

When “kindness” is used to enforce falsehood, and women are punished for defending truth and modesty, we see what the Apostle Paul called “the mystery of iniquity”.

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.

Trans Lavatory Ban ‘Risks Breaking ECHR Rules’

The clash between Westminster and Strasbourg has emerged over proposed UK guidance that would prevent men claiming to be women from using female lavatories and changing rooms.

Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Michael O’Flaherty has written to MPs warning that such a move could breach the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). He claims that restricting access by “gender identity” rather than biological sex would infringe the right to privacy under Article 8, forcing trans-identified people to “out” themselves when accessing single-sex spaces.

In his letter, O’Flaherty—an Irish Catholic and long-time LGBT advocate—positioned himself as a moral authority over British law, implying that the UK must comply with Strasbourg’s interpretation of human rights.

His intervention follows the UK Supreme Court’s ruling earlier this year that “sex” in law means biological sex, not self-declared gender.

That landmark judgment paved the way for clearer guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) affirming that single-sex services and spaces may be reserved for women only.

O’Flaherty’s letter is another example of unelected European officials meddling in domestic affairs and promoting the ideology of gender self-identification under the guise of “human rights.” The move highlights just how deeply transgender ideology has penetrated European institutions, where “inclusion” often takes precedence over truth, privacy and safety.

It also raises serious questions about the democratic legitimacy of outside bodies attempting to override decisions made by Britain’s highest court.

The BBC has become the latest battleground in the growing cultural war over gender ideology.

The corporation now allows staff to work from home if they are “uncomfortable with its trans-toilet policy”, which permits biological men to use women’s lavatories and changing areas.

Instead of protecting the privacy and safety of women, the media house is enabling a confused system where “feelings” trump biological fact.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that “sex” in the Equality Act refers to biological reality, yet the BBC refuses to act until the Government issues further guidance.

Genesis 1:27 God made man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The Cost of Compromise

By allowing staff to work from home rather than fixing the root problem, the BBC sends a clear message: gender ideology outweighs common sense. Female employees, instead of being protected, are pushed out of the workplace to avoid discomfort and potential risk.

Taxpayers fund this publicly owned organisation, yet it now fosters division and alienation within its ranks. Britain once led the world in fairness and order; now even lavatories have become ideological battlegrounds.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.

Workplaces Under Siege

The gender-neutral toilet agenda is creeping through offices, schools, hospitals, and corporations. Women who object risk accusations of “transphobia,” while managers hide behind “inclusion policies.”

Instead of uniting people, this ideology fractures trust and erodes respect. Workplaces once guided by professionalism now operate under fear of ideological reprimand.

The line between privacy and politics has been erased by policy-makers who value social experiments over employee welfare.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace..

Men’s Prisons told to Offer Trans Inmates Make-up

The exercise yard at the fictional 'Slade Prison'.
The exercise yard at the fictional ‘Slade Prison’.

As Britain celebrates its supposed progressiveness, the nation slides further into confusion. The latest absurdity? Men’s prisons have been told to provide make-up and beauty products for inmates who identify as women. Convicted criminals are now indulged with cosmetics in the name of “gender affirmation.” It would be comical if it were not tragic.

When the justice system panders to delusion, punishment loses its moral force. The same political class that ignores victims’ cries now caters to the vanity of offenders. Across the public sector, truth is treated as hate, and biological reality is treated as bigotry.

This is moral collapse on a continental scale. European bureaucrats, puffed up with self-importance, believe they have the authority to rewrite creation itself. And sadly, many churchmen echo them rather than oppose them.

The proud letters from one Irish Church of England bureaucrat lecturing MPs on “trans inclusion” only show how deep the rot has spread into the institutions once meant to uphold God’s Word.

Today, vileness is not only exalted, it is enshrined in policy.

Psalm 12:8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

Genesis 1:27: Male and female created He them.

Only One Side of the Trans “Debate” Silences Free Speech

There are rare glimmers of courage amid the fog of fear. Actress Keira Knightley recently stood her ground against online “trans activists” after questioning the extremes of gender ideology in the entertainment world. Her defiance provoked fury from those who demand absolute conformity, yet she did not yield. In doing so, she proved that integrity still has a place in public life — even if it comes at personal cost.

Contrast that courage with the silence of so many in power. Politicians, broadcasters, and bishops alike have chosen the path of least resistance. They bow to activists, ignore women’s safety, and call cowardice “compassion.”

The cultural elite, once devoted to reason, now genuflect before feelings. The result is a society at war with itself, unable to define a woman, unwilling to defend a child, and unashamed of moral confusion.

Christians must not follow suit. We are not called to appease error but to proclaim truth.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

Love or Deception?

A “transgender” woman (a man) who tricked another man into believing he was a woman has been found guilty of sexual assault.

The biological XY bloke, who now goes by the name Ciara Watkin, from Thornaby, met his victim on Snapchat and pretended to be female, even claiming to be “on her period” to hide his true identity.

His victim later discovered the truth and told police he would never have consented if he had known. The jury found Watkin guilty after a short trial at Teesside Crown Court, and he must now sign the sex offenders register.

This case shows how easily people can hide behind the LGBTQ slogan of “inclusion” to deceive others. Society has been taught to “believe everyone’s truth”, even when that truth is built on lies. In this case, “gender identity” became a tool of manipulation. The same culture that demands silence in the name of love and kindness allowed a man to commit a grave offence without question.

When truth is replaced by feelings, sin finds a hiding place. What was once shameful is now celebrated as “brave”. Watkin’s deceit is not a mistake; it is a warning. If society refuses to recognise God’s created order of male and female, confusion and exploitation will follow.

A Nation in Moral Confusion

From hospitals to prisons, from the arts to European bureaucracy, Britain is being forced to celebrate delusion and condemn truth. What began as “inclusion” has become coercion; what was once compassion has turned into tyranny of conscience.

Up in Scotland, a designer says she was ordered to leave a shop after complaining about a staff member’s “no terfs, no Tories” badge.

Rebekah Chapman, 33, said she was subjected to “intolerance and nasty slogans” after challenging the employee at Dundee’s Hobbycraft branch. She claimed the store’s manager sided with the staff member and told her to “read a biology textbook”. Hobbycraft have since apologised, but why did this happen in the first place?

We are in cultural darkness, yet the call remains:

Jeremiah 6:16 Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein

Truth on Trial

In modern Britain, stating that men and women are different can cost you your job or reputation. The ideology of gender fluidity demands silence or surrender.

Public bodies like the BBC and NHS risk replacing biological fact with political fiction. Yet truth is not hateful. It is liberating.

The Christian call is not to mock, but to stand firm and speak truth in love — even when powerful institutions oppose it.

Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not.

A Call to Courage

Christians must pray, speak, and act while there is still time. Every concession to gender ideology undermines creation order and endangers the most vulnerable.

Protecting women’s spaces and affirming biological reality is not discrimination; it is obedience to God’s design.

The Church must be a light in this darkness, showing compassion for those confused by gender ideology while refusing to bow before it. Britain’s future depends on rediscovering the courage to say what is true.

Grooming gangs inquiry: Why are survivors walking away?

Grooming gangs: Fourth survivor quits inquiry panel amid crisis for Government
Grooming gangs: Fourth survivor quits inquiry panel amid crisis for Government

Five survivors of grooming gang abuse have resigned from the government’s national inquiry panel, accusing officials of betrayal and manipulation.

Jessica and Elizabeth (not their real names), joined Fiona Goddard and Ellie Reynolds, who quit the inquiry’s victims and survivors liaison panel on Monday in protest.

The survivors said the inquiry has become “less about the truth and more about a cover-up.”

Jessica said she was stunned to learn that the two prospective chairs were a former police officer and social worker, Jim Gamble and Annie Hudson.

“When I found out the two potential chairs were a former police officer and a former social worker, I was shocked and I didn’t know how they could be involved.”

PM opposed enquiry

All five women were appointed earlier this year to help oversee the process but claim the government silenced survivor voices and allowed political convenience to replace transparency. But now ITV reports they have listed five conditions for their return including the resignation of Jess Phillips as safeguarding minister. But another five survivors want her to stay.

Their resignations are a blow to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who the BBC reports backs Ms Phillips and who launched the inquiry in June, promising to uncover the full scale of grooming gang crimes across England and Wales. But the Prime Minister spent months opposing it and was forced into an inquiry only after the June report of Louise Baroness Casey, as the Independent concedes, defending his U-turn to the BBC’s reporter Chris Mason.

The Bible says:
Psalm 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

’Conflict of interest’

All survivors criticised the shortlisting of two candidates for the inquiry chairmanship, one a former police chief, the other a social worker. They argued this represented a “disturbing conflict of interest,” since both institutions had previously failed to protect victims.

Ms Reynolds told BBC Radio 4 that the inquiry required a senior judge “completely impartial and non-biased.” As the Bible says:

Deut 19:18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: …

Many survivors agreed, fearing the same state bodies that enabled their suffering were now leading the investigation. The establishment was ‘marking its own homework’.

’Toxic, fearful environment’

According to the Bible, cover-ups are a tendency of those in power:
Isa 1:23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Ms Reynolds described a “toxic, fearful environment,” claiming survivors were allowed to ask only two pre-approved questions to the potential chairs. She said participants were “gaslit to believe we were helping when, in reality, we were being controlled and silenced again.”

The allegations suggest a repeat of the institutional behaviour that allowed grooming gangs to operate for years. Many believe officials are more concerned with managing optics than confronting the uncomfortable truths of race, religion, and systemic neglect.

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

The government’s defence

Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips denied accusations of manipulation, insisting that the government remained “committed to exposing the failures” of past authorities. She claimed the delay in appointing a chair was “standard procedure” and not evidence of interference. But the inquiry is now in disarray, having been set back months, according to reports.

Survivors argue that the inquiry’s credibility has already been compromised. Ms Phillips maintains that the government wants a leader “who will earn the trust of those who have been let down so often by authority.”

Prov 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Ms Goddard said officials had repeatedly sought to broaden the inquiry’s scope from grooming gangs to wider issues of child sexual abuse in ‘as a deliberate move to blur accountability.’

Ms Reynolds wrote that the push to “downplay the racial and religious motivations” behind the abuse amounted to “rewriting history.” She insisted those factors were central to why victims were targeted — and why institutions failed to act.

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Public outcry and political pressure

The resignations have drawn condemnation from across Parliament. Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick warned the episode “casts a real shadow over the government’s efforts” to expose one of Britain’s gravest scandals.

Professor Alexis Jay, who led the seven-year inquiry into child sexual abuse, said past governments “lacked engagement” with her 20 key recommendations. Many survivors fear this new inquiry will go the same way, more bureaucracy, less justice.

This new crisis follows the conviction of seven men in Manchester for the systematic abuse of teenage girls in Rochdale, a tragic reminder that grooming gangs remain an open wound in British society.

In London, mayor Sadiq Khan stands accused of refusing even to acknowledge rape and grooming gangs exist, according to GB News

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Why is there a cover-up?

In the light of all this, people are entitled to ask why the establishment are so intent on down-playing the scandal. Two dynamics appear to be driving their attempted denial that at the root of the rape and grooming of vulnerable young girls is the Islamic doctrine, expressed over and again in the Koran, that Muslim men are entitled to take ful advantage of those whom ‘your right hands posses’.

The first dynamic is the dependence of those currently in office on the Muslim vote. Four pro-Hamas Muslims took MP seats from Labour in the July 2024 General Election. Next time, the party is afraid more seats could fall. Jess Phillips herself clung on to her Birmingham Yardley seat by a majority of only 693 votes. Wes Streeting held Ilford North by a mere 528.

The second dynamic is the elite’s adherence to the anti-Christian doctrine of multiculturalism,
brought in to dilute and chip away at the United Kingdom’s Christian heritage and Christian Constitution.

Second dynamic: Multiculturalism

Yesterday morning (23/10/2025), during a visit to the Peacehaven Mosque, which was the target of an arson attack after the Yom Kippur attack in Manchester, the Prime Minister took aim at the display of the St George’s Cross and the Union flag. He criticised ‘some people, just like the people who attacked this mosque, some people, a minority, only want to use the flag to divide’. There is no evidence of either flag in the Peacehaven attack.

The Prime Minister was then asked to respond to Conservative MP Katie Lam’s assertion that multiculturalism has failed. Sir Keir told ITV: ‘I can’t tell you how much I disagree with her.’

He added: ‘I think that her approach where people who are lawfully in this country, who have been working in our communities, perhaps in our schools, our hospitals, running businesses, our neighbours, people lawfully here. She wants to reach in and remove them from our country for cultural reasons, she says. That is how far the Conservative Party has sunk.’

Yet only days ago, it was reported a young Muslim doctor was arrested over pro-Hamas antisemitic comments. But there has in truth been no end of NHS Muslim doctors and nurses celebrating the 7th October 2023 massacre or so-called ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’.

Again, it is a reality, uncomfortable indeed to our ruling class, that violent antisemitism is also written in to the Mohammedan religion. A self-confident Muslim contingent in our population is plainly incompatible with the continued safety of our Jewish communities.

Read and pray

To sum up, the pattern of abuse, neglect and political hesitation has eroded trust in public institutions. Until truth is told and justice pursued without fear or favour, the nation’s conscience remains stained.

For the Church, this is a time to stand with the oppressed and to pray that those in authority may finally act “to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.”

READ: 2 Chr 19:6–7; Ps 82:3–4; Prov 21:15; Isa 5:20; Isa 59:14–15; Jer 22:3; Amos 5:24; Matt 5:10–12; Lk 6:22–23; 2 Cor 4:8–9; 2 Tim 3:12; Heb 13:3; 1 Pet 3:14–17; Jas 1:12; Rev 2:10..

PRAY: Thank God for these brave women. Pray for justice for the survivors of the grooming scandal. Pray for honesty in our leaders. Pray for an end to multiculturalism. Pray for our leaders to return this United Kingdom to the King of kings. Pray also in the knowledge that God indeed rules in the affairs of men:

Eccl 5:8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

Nanosermon Script:

There’s a big push on at the moment to have more women in leadership. Politicians and the chattering classes seem totally convinced that 50% of all political jobs, directorships and managerial positions should be held by women.

What does the Bible say about it? Well, firstly, women and men are equal before the Lord in terms of sin and our common need for salvation. We can equally be children of the most high.

God’s Default Position

But it seems just as clear from scripture that God’s default position is that men lead. The Lord said to the woman in the Garden of Eden, in Genesis chapter three:

Gen 3:16b … thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

The Apostle Paul, in chapter two of his first letter to Timothy, reminded him that male leadership is a creation ordinance:

1Tim 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

Given all that, there is one great Biblical example of a woman in leadership. Deborah, a prophetess, became a judge in Israel when Jabin king of Canaan was oppressing the Israelites.

Deborah’s Complaint

But before you wheel Deborah out as some sort of proto- feminist, hold on a minute.
Firstly, look closely at Deborah’s complaint in her song in Judges chapter five. She says:

Judges 5:6b … the highways were unoccupied and the travellers walked through byways.
Judges 5:7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.

I think she is objecting to the fact that she had to do it, that a woman, a mother, had to stand up and lead Israel at such a challenging time apparently because no man would.

Deborah’s Command

Secondly, if you object to that anaylsis, look at this in Judges chapter four and verse six:

Judges 4:6 And she (that’s Deborah) sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? 7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

Deborah’s Judgment

Here’s what Deborah replied:

Judges 4:9 … I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

This is the clincher. Because Barak, despite being a hero of the faith in the book of Hebrews (Heb 11:32), wouldn’t embrace his God-appointed position as a man, Deborah cursed him.

Taking the spoils in battle and the life of your enemy was a very big deal in those days. And he lost all that. Barak had the edge in the battle, Sisera fled on foot, and turned up at the tent of Jael. She was the wife of a local chieftain called Heber.

Deborah’s Curse Comes True

Let’s pick up the story in verse eighteen.

Judges 4:18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

Jael even gave him something to drink, and agreed to act as his lookout. She waited quietly for Sisera to fall asleep.

Judges 4:21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Deborah’s Example

It turned out just as Deborah said. Barak lost the honour of killing Sisera to a woman because he would not lead his men into battle without Deborah holding his hand. I find the Lord saying that if men will not or cannot take charge, that a Godly woman may step up to the mark.

But our best example of a Godly woman doing just that confirms God’s default position that men lead, provide, fight where necessary, and take the responsibility of leadership upon them.

SCRIPT ENDS – POSTSCRIPT:

Why are Jewish fans banned from British football?

0

Britain faces a moral reckoning after West Midlands Police declared it could not guarantee the safety of visiting Jewish football fans. instead they have banned Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters from Aston Villa’s Europa League match on the 6th of November 2025.

The ban has been described as “a stain on Britain’s reputation,” suggesting that the country which once defied fascism now struggles to defend the right of Jewish people to go about their business without fear.

In a further development tonight, GB News reports the Maccabi club have told their fans they will be unable to buy tickets through their website.

Only last weekend, thousands of officers were deployed to protect pro-Palestinian marches across London, yet Jewish fans were denied the same protection in Birmingham.

If the protection of citizens does not apply to everyone, what are the police for?

Prime Minister Condemns ban

Shabana Mahmood MP protesting against Israel
Shabana Mahmood MP protesting against Israel in 2014 in Birmingham

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has criticised the ban of Israeli fans from attending the clash at Villa Park.

“This is the wrong decision,” Sir Keir declared in a short statement. “We will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets. The role of the police is to ensure all football fans can enjoy the game without fear of violence or intimidation.”

However it has emerged that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, who has history protesting against Israel, knew about the police decision and said nothing.

The Prime Minister’s intervention followed concerns that the measure punished Jewish fans for potential unrest by the plainly-antisemitic pro-Hamas Islamo-Leftists who have paraded through British streets and those in the Netherlands.

West Midlands Police classified the 6th November fixture as “high risk”, leading Birmingham City Council’s Safety Advisory Group to decide that no away supporters should be permitted.

Birmingham refuse to name the members of the Safety Advisory Group, giving only their positions. But from that, we learn that two police forces attend the Group. The Council will not say whether anyone was present to offer legal advice or to publish the minutes of the meeting which made the decision.

“The decision aims to mitigate risks to public safety,” the West Midlands force stated, adding that the measure had full backing from the Safety Advisory Group and Birmingham City Council. Aston Villa said it remained in “continuous dialogue” with both clubs and local authorities, insisting that “the safety of supporters and residents is paramount.” What they really mean is: ‘Not being sued or having our ground trashed by fanatics is paramount’.

Political leaders unite to slam Tel Aviv fans ban

Maccabi Tel Aviv football fans in Amsterdam in November
Maccabi Tel Aviv football fans in Amsterdam in November

Political leaders from Britain’s major parties have united in condemnation of West Midlands Police following the ban on supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv attending a match in Birmingham.

While Prime Minister Starmer called it “the wrong decision,” Reform UK leader Nigel Farage accused authorities of “racial discrimination at a whole new level”. Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch added: “It sends a horrendous and shameful message, that there are parts of Britain where Jews simply cannot go.”

In contrast, Ayoub Khan, Birmingham Perry Barr MP and member of Jeremy Corbyn’s Your Party, praised the ban, celebrating that “Maccabi Tel Aviv fans will not be permitted to watch the match.” Mr Khan and Mr Corbyn’s online petition gathered nearly 4,000 signatures.

This public split underscores the deep divisions between those emphasising public order and those defending equal treatment under the law. But the elephant in the room, as Laurie Wastell writes in DailySceptic, is that the area around Aston Villa’s ground is now 70% Muslim. That means it is 70% violently antisemitic. That means it is unsafe for Jews to be in. And it is far from the only area of our United Kingdom where that can be said. So what price ‘multiculturalism’ now, Sir Keir?

Matthew 12:25 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.

A month-long campaign against Israeli fans

Police concerns about the match’s safety reportedly trace back to August, when the Europa League draw first paired Aston Villa with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Within days, Ayoub Khan launched a petition urging UEFA, the Culture Minister, and the club to “cancel the fixture or ensure public safety and community harmony.”

The petition quickly gained traction, with over 3,000 signatures, boosted by support from Jeremy Corbyn and a coalition of pro-Palestine groups. The police was presented with a dossier titled “Game Over Israel”, claiming that Israeli football “instrumentalises genocide”, making the false accusation that Israel is, or was, engaged in ‘genocide’ in Gaza, rather than acknowledging that genocide of Jews is written in to the Mohammedan religion.

Numb 24:5 How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!

Legal challenge on equality grounds

Lawyers representing UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) have warned Aston Villa F.C. that it could be in breach of the Equality Act 2010 if it complies with the ban.

In a formal letter to the club’s directors, UKLFI argued that the decision constitutes direct discrimination against Israelis, prohibited under Section 29 (1) of the Act.

The group called for an urgent review, asserting that no sporting institution in Britain should deny attendance on the basis of nationality or religion. Legal experts believe the case could set a major precedent in equality law if pursued. Essentially, the lawyers say Aston Villa must either allow the supporters of both sides to attend, or none at all and play the match behind closed doors.

Proverbs 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Allegations against council chief deepen controversy

Joanne Roney, Birmingham Council's Managing Director
Joanne Roney, Birmingham Council’s Managing Director

Further controversy surrounds Joanne Roney, the managing director of Birmingham City Council, the authority behind the decision. Ms Roney was previously accused of using an antisemitic slur while employed at another council, reportedly referring to a colleague as “a massive Jewish b—-end.”

Though the allegations date back several years, these cast a shadow over Birmingham Council’s impartiality. The Safety Advisory Group responsible for the ban operates under her authority, further fuelling claims of bias.

The Council has declined to comment on the past allegation, citing employment confidentiality.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Councils defy government over antisemitism definition

A Telegraph investigation revealed that over 100 local authorities have yet to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism, despite repeated Government appeals.
The definition includes examples such as comparing Israeli policy to Nazi actions and holding Jews collectively responsible for Israel’s conduct.

More than 30 per cent of councils, including Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative administrations, have refused to adopt it. Campaigners say this failure emboldens those who blur the line between criticism of Israel and hatred of Jews.

Deuteronomy 32:7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee.

Birmingham Imam’s Warning Raises Tensions

Imam Asrar Rashid
Imam Asrar Rashid

Only hours before the ban became public, Birmingham Muslim Imam Asrar Rashid released a video warning that Israeli fans would face hostility if they travelled. “We will not show mercy to Maccabi Tel Aviv fans coming to Birmingham,” he declared.

The message spread rapidly on social media, heightening police fears of possible violence. Faith leaders across the city condemned the remarks, calling for calm and mutual respect. Christian ministers urged prayer and solidarity with all victims of hate, regardless of background.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Britain’s test of justice and faith

The ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans marks a defining moment for Britain’s conscience. A nation that once stood against racism and prejudice now finds itself accused of institutional discrimination against Jews.

Inconsistencies in policing and civic policy, where protest movements are accommodated, yet Jewish supporters are excluded, have exposed a moral crisis. For the Christian, the issue is clear: justice cannot be selective, and equality must not depend on convenience.

As the Apostle Paul wrote, “There is neither Jew nor Greek… for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Britain’s challenge is to live up to that truth, in our laws, our communities, and even our stadiums.

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Jer 22:3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

Nanosermon Script:

Now, you might think the Lord God, being Almighty, doesn’t need your help.

He might need your prayer. John Wesley famously said God does nothing except in answer to prayer. He was saying that prayer is how we partner with the Lord in what he is doing.

But you might think that’s it. You don’t need to help God by actually doing anything. Let God do it all.

Well, in the book of judges, in chapter four and verse two, we read how the people of Israel were being oppressed by Jabin, a Canaanite king, and his army chief Sisera. We even read why. It was because:

Judges 4:1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD …

Lord raised up Deborah

The oppression went on for twenty years until the Lord raised up the prophetess Deborah. Now Deborah lived in the centre of ancient Israel, between Ramah and Bethel in the tribal settlement of Benjamin.

The oppression was occurring more to the north. We are told Sisera was based at Harosheth, which I think was near present-day Haifa, close to Mount Carmel and the Kishon river.

This is on the borders of the allotments of Western Manasseh, Asher, Zebulun and Issachar. The trouble was possibly also affecting Naphtali, further north.

Barak recruits an army

So Deborah called for Barak, from Naphtali, and sent him up to Mount Tabor, just south-west of Lake Galillee, east of Nazareth, to recruit an army.

He found support from the tribes of Ephraim, Benjamin, Zebulun, Issachar and Naphtali. The Lord blessed the Israelite army.

They defeated Sisera and he came to a sticky end. The song of Deborah and Barak in chapter five of judges tells the tale.

They single out two of the tribes for praise:
Jdg 5:18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.

They complain that Dan and Asher carried on with their seafaring rather than join. While Reuben dithered:
Jdg 5:15b & 16b For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.

Cursed for refusing to fight

One city is singled out for divine condemnation. It was Meroz, in the conflict zone, whose people declined to join the fight. We read in verse twenty-three:

Jdg 5:23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.

So when bad stuff is going on, the Lord expects you not to ignore it, or to dither, let alone refuse the call, but to get up and help him against the mighty, the elites, the oppressors.

It’s more than prayer, or if it’s prayer, it’s prayer for what you can do.

Christian pastors in China are being rounded up and jailed in a brutal new wave of repression by Communist authorities.

Over the weekend, police launched late-night raids against “house churches”, underground congregations that refuse to register under Communist Party control.

According to Reuters, dozens of pastors were detained nationwide, including Pastor Jin Mingri, founder of Zion Church in Beijing, one of the country’s largest unregistered congregations.

Pastor Jin, 56, is accused of the “illegal use of information networks”, a charge often used to silence Christian leaders. His daughter, Grace Jin, told AP News that her father suffers from diabetes and is being denied medical treatment and legal access

Church spokesman Sean Long warned that the crackdown marks a “new wave of religious persecution”, noting that police have questioned over 150 believers and detained around 30 pastors, releasing only a few.

Beijing’s War on the ross

President Xi Jinping has pledged to make religion in China “more Chinese”, an ideological campaign that replaces the cross with the Party emblem.

China’s religious regulator recently banned all unauthorised online preaching or “foreign collusion” with overseas churches, effectively criminalising digital fellowship.

Open Doors International notes that while around 44 million Christians belong to state-approved churches, tens of millions more worship underground, risking imprisonment to stay true to Scripture.

Despite censorship, intimidation, and arrest, the underground Church is growing — fuelled not by political approval, but by faith that endures the fire.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Nigeria’s Christmas massacre

Just days ago, Christian Voice reported on the horrific Christmas Day massacre in Plateau State, Nigeria, where over 160 Christians were killed and entire churches razed.

The Vatican News confirmed that at least 140 believers were slain in attacks that began on Christmas Eve and spread across Bokkos and Barkin Ladi districts.

A Christian Advocacy group described the assaults as “a coordinated attempt to wipe out Christian communities,” with survivors recounting how pastors were beheaded and villages burned.

Local advocacy group Church in Chains reported that more than 20 villages were destroyed and thousands displaced.

The global media’s coverage was fleeting. Few outlets beyond Christian agencies treated it as more than a regional skirmish — yet the victims were targeted precisely because they bore the name of Christ.

Proverbs 31:8–9 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

The silence of the powerful

While U.S. Senator Marco Rubio condemned the arrests in China, urging the release of detained pastors, the world’s response has been muted.

From Nigeria to China, Sudan to Pakistan, Christian persecution continues to rise, yet international media and Western governments too often turn a blind eye.

Human rights watchdog Freedom House and GOV.UK reports show a consistent pattern — Christian minorities face surveillance, violence, and imprisonment simply for practising their faith.

Where are the front-page headlines? The moral outrage? The world has learned to scroll past the suffering Church — as though the blood of the saints were no longer newsworthy.

Isaiah 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

The Church that cannot be silenced

Yet, despite the violence and repression, the Church of Christ stands unbroken.

In China’s secret basements, in Nigeria’s burnt villages, in North Korea’s labour camps, believers still whisper hymns in the dark. For every pastor imprisoned, another rises. For every church destroyed, another congregation gathers underground.

The world may ignore them, but Heaven does not. The cry of the persecuted reaches the throne of God — and He will not be silent forever.

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

The awkward silence over the slaughter of Christians in Nigeria

Since 2009, Nigeria has been one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian.

According to the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety), over 52,000 Christians have been killed, and 18,000 churches and 2,200 Christian schools destroyed by Islamist extremists.

Nigeria topped Open Doors’ World Watch List 2024 for the number of Christians killed or abducted for their faith — 3,100 killed and 2,800 kidnapped in one year alone.

Despite the scale of violence, Western media coverage has been minimal. This silence was challenged when American comedian and talk show host Bill Maher raised the issue on Real Time (HBO) in late September 2025, questioning why Gaza receives extensive media attention while Nigeria’s genocide of Christians is largely ignored.

“They are systematically killing the Christians in Nigeria,” Mr. Maher said. “They’ve killed over 100,000 since 2009. They’ve burned 18,000 churches.”

Though the comedian is a self-proclaimed apatheist, his blunt comparison awakened a conversation many believers have avoided.

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression.

When God wants to expose injustice, He sometimes uses unexpected voices. The question is not whether Mr. Maher believes in Christ, but whether the Church still believes in defending its own persecuted members.

Massacres that barely make the news

In June 2025, gunmen stormed Yelwata in Benue State, central Nigeria, killing more than 100 villagers, most of them Christians. Entire families were burned alive in their homes.

In April 2025, Zike village in Borno State suffered a similar fate: 40 Christian farmers were murdered by suspected Fulani militants.

On Christmas Day 2023, over 160 Christians were killed in Plateau State during what was described as a “Christmas massacre”. Churches were razed and pastors beheaded.

These are not isolated tragedies but part of a pattern — what many experts, including Intersociety and Open Doors, call a slow genocide of Christians in Nigeria’s “Middle Belt.

Revelation 6:9 And I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.

Each statistic hides faces, families, and faith that refused to renounce Christ. The blood of these martyrs calls the global Church to remember that Christianity still costs everything in many lands.

The official denial

The Nigerian government denies that Christians are being specifically targeted, calling the violence “terrorism that affects all communities.”

A presidential spokesperson dismissed U.S. Senator Ted Cruz’s statement that Nigeria is facing a Christian genocide as “careless rhetoric.”

Yet official statistics tell another story. In northern and Middle Belt states, Christians are up to eight times more likely to be killed in attacks than Muslims.

Moreover, blasphemy laws in states such as Kano still carry the death penalty. Christian student Deborah Yakubu was stoned to death in 2022 after she thanked Jesus in a university group chat. No one was prosecuted.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.

When authorities deny persecution, they aid the persecutors. Christians must speak truth even when governments will not. Silence is complicity.

The world begins to awaken

International concern is finally stirring. In the U.S., Senator Ted Cruz introduced the Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act in 2025, seeking sanctions against Nigerian officials who enable or ignore religious violence.

Sen. Cruz said, “Nigerian Christians are being targeted and executed for their faith by Islamist terrorist groups, and are being forced to submit to sharia law and blasphemy laws across Nigeria. It is long past time to impose real costs on the Nigerian officials who facilitate these activities, and my Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act uses new and existing tools to do exactly that. I urge my colleagues to advance this critical legislation expeditiously.”

In the UK, Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief David Smith named Nigeria as a “priority country” for action.

Even secular commentators such as Bill Maher have now forced mainstream journalists to confront the silence.

Proverbs 31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

The tide may be turning, but only if pressure continues. Christians must be the moral conscience of their governments, insisting that truth and justice prevail.

A Church that suffers in silence

For Christians in northern and central Nigeria, persecution is not an eventt, it is daily life.

In June 2022, gunmen attacked St Francis Xavier Church in Owo, Ondo State, during Pentecost Mass, killing over 50 worshippers, including children.

In May 2023, over 100 Christians were killed in Mangu in Plateau State, their homes burned and churches desecrated.

Every week brings fresh names of martyrs, yet few outside Africa hear their stories. While the West debates theology, believers in Nigeria live the Book of Acts under fire.

1 Corinthians 12:26 If one member suffer, all the members suffer with it.

The persecuted Church does not ask for pity, only prayer, advocacy, and remembrance. To forget them is to betray the body of Christ.

Subject: Urgent Appeal: Stop the Killings of Christians in Nigeria

Your Excellency,

I am writing to express grave concern over the ongoing killings of Christians in Nigeria, including the Christmas Day 2023 massacre in Plateau State, where over 160 Christians were killed and churches burned.

These attacks, which continue across the Middle Belt and northern states, show a clear pattern of religious persecution. I urge your government to take decisive action to protect Christian communities, bring perpetrators to justice, and uphold Nigeria’s constitutional right to freedom of religion.

The world is watching, and silence only deepens the suffering.

Yours sincerely,

How the UK elite promoted antisemitism

0
David Lammy was booed on stage in Manchester.
David Lammy was booed on stage in Manchester.

It is two years on from the 7th October 2023 massacre of Jews by Hamas Muslims. As we went to press, hopes were rising that Donald Trump might broker some form of peace in the Holy Land, as Hamas and Israel appear to be on the verge of an agreement in which the remaining still-alive hostages are released.

Matt 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Nevertheless, earlier this week, across the United Kingdom, students were looking for anything but peace, marking the sombre anniversary by joyfully celebrating the death of Jews and calling for the annihilation of the state of Israel. How has antisemitism and worship of those whom the Bible writers would describe as ‘sons of belial’, literally ‘sons of worthlessness’, or worthless men, become mainstream among the UK’s young?

Rape ‘rebranded as resistance’

In Spiked Online, Georgina Mumford explains how feminists at Goldsmith’s College in London abandoned the female victims of Hamas and rebranded rape and mutilation as ‘resistance’. In fact, ‘rape’ hardly conveys the despicable actions of men it is hard to believe were made in the image of God. Read Georgina’s account, if you can bear it.

Psa 28:4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

In another article, Miss Mumford explains how ‘Around a dozen British universities held Palestine rallies to coincide with 7th October. … Several of London’s top institutions, including King’s College London, LSE, UCL and SOAS, marched through the city centre with flags and placards. … Students in Sheffield, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Strathclyde were also on the march. … The supposed aim of these demos, as organisers for the Manchester University protest explained on Instagram, was to protest two years of “genocide, forced starvation, murder, ethnic cleansing, imprisonment, torture and settler colonialism”.’

Jewish neighbours living in fear

No, not by Hamas, but supposedly by Israel. The irony of chanting ‘From the River (Jordan) to the (Mediterranean) Sea, Palestine will be free’, free of Jews, that is, not Islam, and protesting about non-existent ‘genocide’ at the same time, is lost on these antisemitic hordes, who, again, lest we forget, are made in the image of the Almighty. Scripture says of them:

Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

Muslim student urges genocide of Jews to LBC
Muslim student urges genocide of Jews to LBC

The students did all this on the exact anniversary and they were even out celebrating the Yom Kippur attack in Manchester just days earlier. No wonder our Jewish neighbours are living in fear.

Glasgow University ‘Justice for Palestine Society’ invited students to ‘celebrate the glorious Al-Aqsa flood’. That is the name given by Hamas to the 7th October massacre. A hijab-wearing Muslim girl in London wearing her university lanyard nonchalantly told LBC on camera that ‘freedom’ would come when all Jews ‘go back to where they were born’. ‘I don’t think their feelings are valid,’ she went on.

Isa 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement;

Where the hatred comes from

Of course, it is relatively easy for anyone not blinded by multiculturalism to understand why Muslims wish death and destruction to Jews. It is written in to their religion. Here is the Hadith of al-Bukhari:
‘You (i.e. Muslims) will fight against the Jews and you will gain victory over them. The stones will (betray them) saying: ‘O, Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’ (Sahih al-Bukhari 2926 Book 56, Hadith 139)

Students celebrating 7th October 2023 outside Holborn Station in London
Students celebrating 7th October 2023 outside Holborn Station in London

But what explains the hatred towards Israel and Jews expressed by godless leftists? By the way, it is no use them hiding behind ‘Anti-Zionism’ as if they feel free to criticise the Israeli government. What the Muslim girl expressed in the video above was ‘Anti-Zionism’.

‘Anti-Zionism’ is merely antisemitism (hatred of Jewish people) repackaged. But why are atheists on the street donning their kefiyehs and supporting a murderous bunch who would either slit their throats or hold them hostage if they so much as stepped foot in Gaza? Does the girl outside Holborn Station imagine she could walk around dressed like that in Gaza? We even see ‘Queers for Palestine’. What explains such stupidity, such evil?
Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

HMG’s anti-Israel propaganda

Rt Hon David Lammy MP as Foreign Secretary at the United Nations
Rt Hon David Lammy MP as Foreign Secretary at the United Nations

What has not helped is the torrent of anti-Israel propaganda from His Majesty’s Government. In September, the Rt Hon David Lammy MP, as His Majesty’s Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs told the United Nations: ‘What is happening in Gaza is indefensible… inhumane… utterly unjustifiable.’ he accused Israel of ‘denial of life-saving humanitarian aid and the catastrophic famine that it has caused’ and that it ‘escalates its military operations and displaces Palestinian families, again and again and again.’

Of course he described as ‘horrific’ the ‘acts by Hamas on October 7th that left children without their parents, and parents without their children’. But he did not acknowledge the victims as Jewish either there or when he referred to ‘the torment of families waiting desperately for the return of their loved ones from the most barbaric captivity’.

Mr Lammy condemned ‘the fanatical rule by Hamas, a vile, pitiless terrorist organisation that must have no future in Gaza’. But his denial of any responsibility by Hamas for deliberately keeping their subjects in Gaza in poverty and without food, running a protection racket, profiteering from stolen food aid, using the people as human shields, and his unquestioning acceptance of Hamas propaganda and his denunciations of Israel only added fuel to the street protests in London. It also appealed to his party’s Muslim electorate.

Antisemitic Palestinian Charters

The Guardian reported earlier that HMG had ‘not concluded’ that Israel was conducting genocide in Gaza rather then dismissing the allegation as without foundation and pointing to the actual declaration of genocidal intent in both the Hamas Charter and that of the Palestinian Authority. How Mr Lammy was able to look forward at the UN to ‘two states living side by side in peace and security’ betrays the elite’s delusions.

Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed…

In 2024, His Majesty’s Government suspended around 30 arms export licences to Israel for use in Gaza ‘over International Humanitarian Law concerns’. In August, as the BBC reports, they blocked an Israeli government delegation from an arms trade fair in London. In September 2025, they ‘formally recognised Palestine to protect the viability of a two-state solution and create a path towards lasting peace for the Israeli and Palestinian people’, so they said.

Sir Keir Starmer might well ‘vow to protect Jewish communities after Manchester attack’, as the BBC reports, but in a Times Radio video, crossbench peer Lord Walney (John Woodcock, previously a Labour MP and recently the British government’s independent adviser on political violence and disruption) said the Manchester synagogue attack was a result of the media and government ‘fuelling an obsessive focus on Israel.’ Israeli foreign minister Gideon Sar also said Britain had failed to take action to protect Jewish citizens.

Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Home Secretary led BDS protest

Shabana Mahmood MP protesting against Israel
Shabana Mahmood MP protesting against Israel in 2014 in Birmingham

Current Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood MP said she was ‘horrified by the antisemitic terrorist attack at a synagogue on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar’. She went on: ‘The government has stepped up security at synagogues across the whole of the country, and we will do whatever is required to keep our Jewish community safe.’

But can this be the same Shabana Mahmood who joined a demonstration in 2014 in Birmingham as part of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement? She and her friends forced a Sainsbury’s supermarket to close for an afternoon over claims it was selling products from Israeli settlements. The Muslim activist MP said at the time: ‘We managed to close down that store at peak time on a Saturday. This is how we can make a difference.’ She was pictured holding a placard for the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. How seriously can the Rt Hon Shabana’s pro-Jewish assertions be taken today?

Esther 8:3 And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

London mayor and NHS doctor

In London, Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan has made no attempt to hide his pro-Hamas stance, failing to criticise antisemitic chants and banners in the numerous anti-Israel parades which have taken place in the capital. He has been at pains to equate antisemitism with ‘Islamophobia’ as ‘hate crime’. But whereas the Metropolitan Police recorded a 67% increase in anti-Muslim hate crime from September 2023 to August 2024, the rise in antisemitic hate crime was 286%.

NHS junior Dr Rahmeh Aladwan celebrated the 7th Oct massacre.
NHS junior Dr Rahmeh Aladwan celebrated the 7th Oct massacre.

We are also becoming too used to BBC antisemitism and to Muslim NHS doctors expressing support for Hamas extremism with no sanctions from their woke elite bosses. In the latest example, an NHS doctor escaped suspension despite allegedly denying the Holocaust has celebrated the 7th October massacre. Dr Rahmeh Aladwan, a junior medic training to be a trauma and orthopaedic surgeon, marked the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel with social media posts including “glory to the breaking of the 17 year long illegal siege” and saying it was “officially 2 years of a holocaust”.

Isa 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Polling reveals depth of antisemitism

The effects of the anti-Israel stance of the British elite may be further seen in a shocking YouGov poll just published. YouGov say:

* ‘More than a third of the British public (35%) say that they “don’t sympathise at all” with the Israeli side, a five point increase from July. Only 10% say they sympathise “a great deal” with the Israelis, while 29% say the sympathise “somewhat” – collectively these are at their lowest level since we first asked in November 2023.’
* ‘The number of Britons who believe Israel’s continued military operations in Gaza since October 2023 are not justified has risen six points since July to 57%, the highest level to date. At the same time, the 18% who continue to see the attacks as justified is the joint-lowest level we have recorded.’
* Another poll in UnHerd, conducted by Focaldata ‘found that a striking 54% of 18-24-year-olds agreed with the statement that “the state of Israel should not exist.” Just 21% disagreed.’ While all voters blamed Hamas rather than the Israeli government for the Gaza conflict by a slender majority of 31% to 27%, among 18-24s it was reversed, 25% holding Hamas to blame, and 50% Israel.

Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

’No motive’ for Yom Kippur attack

Our elite still refuse to acknowledge that antisemitism is written in to the Muslim scriptures. As Associated Press report, a week after the Yom Kippur attack, the police are still struggling to find a motive for the attack, saying that ‘Al-Shamie “may have been influenced by extreme Islamist ideology”.’ You don’t say. The Met said ‘patrols at synagogues and other Jewish sites are being stepped up “to provide reassurance.”.’ Would people not be a lot more reassured if the patrols provided protection?

David Lammy was booed on stage in Manchester.
David Lammy was booed on stage in Manchester.

Instead of naming Islam as the threat it is, the elite claim to be standing against ‘those who seek to divide us’. Sadiq Khan, David Lammy, Keir Starmer have all come out with this expression built around an imaginary ‘community cohesion’. Now Rt Rev Sarah Mullally, named as the next leader of the Church of England, has said ‘hatred and racism of any kind cannot be allowed to tear us apart.’ David Lammy was booed in Manchester as he trotted out a string of establishment drivel. (Here too)

Prov 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

Cultures and monocultures

Robert Jenrick MP

Conservative MP Robert Jenrick has now been exposed publicly lamenting the rise of the monocultural ethnic enclaves, after walking around Handsworth in Birmingham and not seeing another white face. Brendan O’Neill in Spiked Online has observed that Mr Jenrick found himself in hot water because he has ‘gone and forgotten the golden rule of the woke era. Namely, that you are permitted to bemoan a surplus of white people, but you must never clock an absence of white people.’

The comments were made at a Tory dinner some months ago but then leaked to the Guardian which published them on the eve of the Party’s conference. Out came the Usual Suspects. Hope Not Hate railed against his ‘inflammatory remarks’. A Birmingham Labour MP said Mr Jenrick peddled a ‘culture-warrior narrative’ with ‘far-right clichés’.

Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP
Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP

Last year, as a leadership contender, Kemi Badenoch ventured that ‘not all cultures are equally valid’ when it comes to deciding who should be allowed into the UK. ‘Those we chose to welcome, we expect to share our values and contribute to our society.’ But the sharing and the contribution just is not happening. The reality is, as Mr O’Neill scathingly put it, a ‘poverty-line Bangladeshi woman in Handsworth who can’t speak English, and doesn’t have to, because she’ll never cross paths with a non-Bengali speaker.’

Scripture shows such a society cannot endure. There must be unity of culture and purpose:
Exod 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

It’s the Muslim vote which matters

The mathematics are clear. The Jewish community in the United Kingdom numbers 300,000 – 320,000. The Muslim population in the UK was estimated at approximately 3.9 million in the 2021 Census, representing 6.5% of the total population of England and Wales. This was an increase from 2.7 million (4.9%) in 2011. (The Muslim Council of Britain claims over half of them have been UK-born, while surveys have shown that second-generation Muslims take a harder line than their parents.) Labour Party analysts believe they depend on the votes of Muslims for MPs to keep their seats.

That is why Jewish people no longer believe those in office when they express concern for them, pledge to ‘increase security’ and witter on about ‘the bonds that bind us together as one nation, one people, one United Kingdom’, pleading for ‘common humanity’ from the Islamo-left, having ditched their support for Israel and its people over the last two years and welcomed in Muslim migrants over the last twenty-five.

Only repentance from our establishment will turn the tide. Let us pray it is not too late:

2Chron 20:12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

When Abram full of sacred awe

Elizabeth Scott (1708-1776) penned ‘When Abram Full of Sacred Awe’ in the middle of the Eighteenth Century. It was published in 1769.

Actually, the Lord had already changed his name to Abraham by the time he was pleading for Sodom (in Gen 18:19-33), but Miss Scott thought it best to fit her thoughts in to Common Metre, or four lines with syllables thus: 8.6.8.6. (We sing this to the tune ‘Cheshire’.) So she begins:

1. When Abra’m full of sacred awe, before Jehovah stood,
and with a humble, fervent prayer, for guilty Sodom sued;

Her second verse describes the wonderful result of his prayer:

2. With what success, what wondrous grace, was his petition crowned!
The Lord would spare, if in the place ten righteous men be found.

Of what was Britain ‘guilty’?

The man of God did not dare go below the Hebrew number for a congregation, but even then, he pitched his request too high. As Elizabeth Scott goes on:

3. And could a single holy soul so rich a boon obtain?
Great God, and shall thy remnant cry and plead with thee in vain?

No-one could be found in Sodom except righteous Lot, his wife and his weird daughters. Not even their husbands believed Lot’s warning of impending destruction (Gen 19:1-19). But why did she move on immediately to citing God’s remnant in her own day? And what does Miss Scott mean in the next verse by this:

4. Britain, all guilty as she is, her several saints confess,
And now their fervent prayers ascend; and can those prayers be lost?

See gracious God before thy throne

Our other eighteenth-century hymn was published in 1760 and written by Miss Scott’s contemporary Anne Steele, (1717-1778). It is also in CM (we use the tune ‘Burford’) and begins with six verses making a case for repentance and reformation. Here are the first four:

1. See gracious God, before Thy throne, Thy mourning people bend;
‘Tis on Thy grace in Christ alone, Our failing hopes depend.
2. Tremendous judgments from Thy hand, Thy dreadful power display;
Yet mercy spares this guilty land, And still we live to pray.
3. Great God! and why is Britain spared? Ungrateful as we are;
O make thy awful warnings heard, While mercy cries, Forbear!
4. What numerous crimes increasing rise, Through this apostate isle!
What land as favoured of the skies, And yet what land so vile!

Seventeenth Century upheavals

So what was going on in their day to inspire these two ladies to speak of Britain’s guilt? Was not the Eighteenth Century, Georgian Britain, prospering and growing with an expanding empire? Did not Britannia rule the waves?

The previous century had seen great upheaval. The throne of England and Wales became united with that of Scotland in 1603 under James VI/I, him of King James Bible fame. He was Protestant and targeted by the conspirators of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605. King James died in 1625. His son, Charles I, became arrogant and thought he was above parliament. That led to a dreadful civil war and to the king’s execution in 1649.

The Commonwealth lasted until 1660. Parliament restored the monarchy in the shape of Charles II. But his son James II was adjudged a Roman Catholic activist and was deposed in 1688.

The Glorious Revolution

Parliament brought James’s Protestant daughter Mary and her husband, William of Orange, over from the Netherlands in 1689, and enthroned them as joint rulers. Christians, that is virtually everyone of the time, gave thanks to God for this bloodless ‘Glorious Revolution’.

After that tumultuous Seventeenth Century, William and Mary’s daughter Queen Anne reigned from 1702 to 1714. Climate change had brought about the ‘Little Ice Age’ by now. The low point was the Great Frost of 1709, when the ground froze to a depth of three feet during a terrible period of starvation and death from January to April. The Great Frost was followed by a severe economic depression. The Guardian explains how the cold left the economy in ruins: ‘Per capita gross domestic product dropped by 23%, and did not fully recover for another 10 years, all from a single terrible winter.’

Anne was succeeded by her son George I, the first of the Hanoverians, in 1714. Now hymn writer Isaac Watts would give thanks in his hymn ‘To thee most holy and most high’ for deliverance from popery and for the ‘happy accession’ of King George.

Drunkenness and depravity

The optimism was not to last. The economy recovered, but the people fell into sin. Thirty-seven years later, in 1751, now under George II, William Hogarth engraved the illustrations ‘Beer Street’ and ‘Gin Lane’, castigating the drunkenness and depravity of London.

John Wesley was preaching on sin and redemption up and down the land from 1727 until weeks before his death in March 1791.

Nine years after Hogarth’s satires, as Miss Steele was printing her hymn and George III was acceding to the throne, in 1760, ‘Harris’s List of Covent Garden Ladies’ was first published. It was a blatant directory of London prostitutes. The ‘List’ was in print, constantly updated, until 1794.

It was estimated that 6,000 – 7,000 mainly working-class women were earning a living from prostitution at the time in London alone. Another estimate is 50,000, which seems improbable out of a population of just 650,000. 6-7,000 is surely bad enough. John Wesley preached at least one sermon against prostitution, in the Covent Garden area of Seven Dials, in January 1763.

Crime and venereal disease were rampant in the time when Wesley preached. Elizabeth Scott’s lines lead us to conclude homosexuality was also part of the sorry picture:

5. Are not thy righteous dear to thee
Now, as in ancient times?
Or does this guilty land
exceed Gomorrah in its crimes?

Anne Steele seems to have agreed, even if words change their meaning over time:

5. How changed, alas, are truths divine,
For error, guilt and shame!
Impious numbers, bold in sin,
Disgrace the Christian name!
6. Regardless of thy smile or frown,
Their pleasures they require;
And sink with gay indifference down,
To everlasting fire.

There was indeed an effeminate homosexual sub-culture of ‘Molly Houses’ existing at the time. It is sobering, if the expression does not fall too awkwardly in a discussion of the eighteenth century, to recognise our own times in the world about which Miss Scott and Miss Steele wrote.

Not only was theirs a prophetic voice in their own time, but they speak to ours today.

Suppression of vice

When Miss Scott and Miss Steele were writing their hymns, Messrs Hogarth and Wesley were just about the sum of the century’s reformers. It is true that William Wilberforce was born in 1759 but neither lady would live to see him elected to Parliament in 1780.

Nevertheless, the MP, together with Bishop Beilby Porteus, successfully petitioned King George III for a Royal Proclamation in June 1787 to suppress vice and honour the Lord’s Day.

John Wesley wrote to Wilberforce to encourage him in his fight to end slavery in the last letter he wrote, days before his death.

A ‘new thing’ in our land, in our day

As the writer of Ecclesiastes puts it:
Eccl 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

However, there is one ‘new thing’ in our day which our hymn writers would not recognise. It may well be that politicians of their time were involved in the sins of their day. But they were not advancing them as good things. Hogarth’s paintings shocked because the viewers, politicians among them, recognised he had a valid point.

Today, the entire British establishment is promoting the sins of homosexuality, transgenderism and abortion both at home and abroad, even to young children in ‘relationships and sex education’. The State actively promoting evil, spitting in the face of God, has only ever been done once in history, in Sodom and Gomorrah, in the Days of Lot.

And that did not end well:
Gen 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

The hymn writers’ prayers

The hymns ‘When Abram full of sacred awe’ and ‘See gracious God’ both end with prayers. There are also today those in our land who bear the name of Jesus. God dwells within us. Our Constitution yet owns the name above every name. We have a great spiritual heritage in the Lord Jesus. This land was founded upon the word of God. We can follow the writer of the epistle:

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Therefore we can in confidence pray Miss Scott’s concluding verse and prayer:

6. Still there are those who bear thy name, here yet is thine abode;
Long has thy presence blessed our land; forsake us not, O God!

Anne Steele’s last two verses go further. They call for repentance and for our rulers to seek the face of the King of kings. Her words have additional force when she prophetically speaks of ‘insulting’ invaders. Even then, she writes that we can be fearless, but only if our elite have drawn the nation close to God:

7. O turn us, turn us, mighty Lord, By thy resistless grace;
Then shall our hearts obey thy word, And humbly seek thy face;
8. Then, should insulting foes invade, We shall not sink in fear;
Secure of never-failing aid, If God, our God, is near.

Nanosermon Script:

If you are anything like me you really want your prayers answered. Now there are a lot of things which need to come together in our prayer life such as faith, obedience, confidence, right thinking, determination. I’ll cover those, God willing, in the days and weeks ahead.

Right now I’m going to focus on just three simple things. So come with me to second chronicles chapter twenty. This is no less than your foundational chapter on prayer. Here’s the background: Judah and Jerusalem were being attacked by three armies at once. So what did righteous King Jehoshaphat do? Let’s look at verse three:

2Chr 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. (KJV)

Number 1: Fasting

You might think it’s not a good start to be afraid, but the man is only human. Don’t get hung up on that, it’s his reaction to that which is important.

Our three key things are all in this verse and each one shows God your prayer is serious and fervent. Put them all together and just see what happens.

Number one is fasting. The Lord Jesus did not say ‘If you fast’ in Matthew chapter six and verse sixteen, he said ‘when you fast.’ With fasting you humble yourself before the Lord. You show God your prayer is serious.

Number 2: Unity

Number two is unity. It’s stressed right through this chapter King Jehoshaphat brought the people together in unity. He proclaimed a fast throughout ALL Judah, and out of ALL the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

Don’t think the Jewish people of that day didn’t have differences and squabbles. Of course they did. But they set their disagreements on one side to come together in unity.

We know from Psalm one hundred and thirty three that unity commands a blessing. So pray in unity with your church or your house group or even with your family.
You know, just a husband and wife praying together releases spiritual power you can only imagine.

Number 3: Something to do

Number three is that Jehoshaphat sought the Lord for something to do. The Lord receives so many prayers which are ‘Lord, do this’, or ‘Lord do that’. Rarely does he hear someone pray ‘Lord, what can I do?’

And when that prayer arrives at the Throne of Grace, he will send the answer, in a dream, or a vision, or at the mouth of two or three people as points of witness coming to you with the same idea.

Here, Jehoshaphat laid out the problem and reminded the Lord of his promises in a prayer recorded in verses eight to eleven. Then in verse twelve he prayed:

2Chr 20:12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

The action plan arrives!

He prayed for something to do. Immediately, the prophet Jahaziel gave him an action plan:

2Chr 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

If you’re tempted to stop there, and leave it all to God, seeing it’s his battle, the next verse says:

2Chr 20:16 Tomorrow go ye down against them:

Jahaziel said they would not need to fight in the battle, but they needed to do something: Go out fully armed, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD. They praised God after merely receiving the answer.

Do the little things and watch God do the miraculous

When they went out the next day, praising the Lord, he set confusion amongst their enemies – that’s always a good thing to pray for in itself – and their enemies all killed each other.

Read the chapter and see how long it took for the people of Judah to gather the spoil. There you are, fasting, unity, and some action.

Do those little things that only you can do, and watch God do the miraculous as he answers your prayer.
