Halal stays ‘hors menu’ in French prisons

A plan to serve up halal meals to Muslim inmates in a French prison has been dropped, reports Associated Press.

The council of state said yesterday (23rd July 2014) that providing Halal meat at Saint-Quentin-Fallavier prison in Grenoble, eastern France, was impractical “owing to its financial cost and high needs for organization.” That view was upheld by the Council of State on 16th July 2014, which is the highest court in France, after the Court of Appeal had directed the state to provide such meals in March.

France’s Justice Minister Christiane Taubira also argued the plan would infringe France’s robust rules on secularism that ban religious expression in public places. France’s highest appeals court will have the final say.

The plan — which could have proved a test case — was being considered after the request of a Muslim inmate last November.

The French decision is in marked contrast to that of the Prison Service in Britain (see below), where Muslims have become so used to halal food, they are suing because pork DNA was found in it.

HARASSMENT OF NON-MUSLIMS

France has the largest Muslim population in western Europe, estimated at some 5 million. An investigation last year found evidence of Islamic oppression and harassment against non-Muslim inmates in French prisons.

The French magazine Valeurs Actuelles obtained a secret French government document about “proselytism in custody”. Written in 2011, it describes how Islam has taken over the French prison system. Non-converts are subject to pressure, insults, threats and violence. They are marginalised in day-to-day prison life.

BRITAIN SUED OVER PORK IN PRISON HALAL PIES

The situation seems little better in British prisons. The BBC reported in 2010 that gangs of Muslim prisoners were becoming an increasingly powerful force.

“Muslims run the prisons and there’s nothing the screws can do about it. For a Muslim you’d say it’s good but for a non-Muslim, it’s very, very bad,” said a former inmate.

In March 2014 the Guardian reported that the number of Muslims in the prison population had more than doubled to nearly 12,000 in a decade.

The 2011 census showed Muslims represented 4.7 per cent of the population in England and Wales, yet one in seven prisoners (14 per cent) in England and Wales is a Muslim, according to the statistics.

Amongst young offenders, the position is even more striking. The proportion of Muslim offenders is growing year by year. One in five males in young offender institutions identified themselves as Muslim in 2011/12, compared with 16% in 2010/11.

Our Government have bowed to pressure from Muslim inmates to serve them halal food. In September 2013. it was reported that some 200 Muslims were taking the Prison Service to court because traces of DNA from pork, which is strictly ‘haram’ or ‘forbidden’ in Islam, were found in supposedly ‘halal’ pies from a halal certified supplier.

EXTREMISM TAKING OVER BRITISH PRISONS

Since Islam is a religion built around observance and not around the repentance demanded by Christianity, it is perfectly possible to be a criminal – to be a terrorist or even to run a drug firm, a prostitution ring or an extortion racket – and still be a good Muslim.

The Government is so concerned that prisons could become breeding grounds for terrorism that it it has has deployed imams to help steer them away from extremist paths.

Yet even this desperate move is set to backfire. An expert has warned that imams with links to extremist Muslim groups are helping to turn Britain’s prisons into ‘state-funded breeding grounds for extremism‘.

Professor Anthony Glees, head of the centre for security and intelligence studies at the University of Buckingham, said: ‘Our prisons have turned into a state-funded breeding ground for extremism. It is completely unacceptable that imams with extremist views are allowed to preach in prisons.’

BURQA BAN LAWFUL

Earlier this month, Judges at the European court of human rights upheld France’s ban on wearing the burqa, accepting the French governments’ argument that it encouraged citizens to “live together”.

Foirmer president Nicolas Sarkozy told the French parliament when introducing the ban that the burqa was a sign of “servitude” that isn’t “welcome on French soil.”

There is no sign of such a ban being introduced in the United Kingdom, despite concerns that terrorists can use the dress to escape detection.

British girls are having their genitals mutilated in barbaric Islamic practices while the UK media and public remain in a state of denial.

Denial of the truth about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) can be seen in the failure to prosecute the perpetrators of these atrocities and in the media’s reluctance to acknowledge the Islamic basis behind these crimes.

A typical example of this type of denial was the report last month in the Guardian about FGM parties being held in the UK. The article did not even mention Islam, even though it is clear that the practice of FGM is religiously motivated. By failing to recognize the religious context of FGM, the British authorities fighting the problem are doing so with one hand tied behind their back.

Although the full extent of the problem is unknown due to the hidden nature of the crime, the NHS has estimated that “over 20,000 girls under the age of 15 are at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM) in the UK each year, and that 66,000 women in the UK are living with the consequences of FGM.” It has also been reported that the UK has the highest rates of FGM for all of Europe, even though the hideous practice was outlawed in 1985.

In an effort to halt the problem, the Department of Education mailed information to every school in the country giving guidance on how to spot and respond to potential FGM. It was revealed on 22 May that nearly half of the head teachers in London schools have failed to read official guidelines on how to prevent the practice.

Data obtained by the Evening Standard in a Freedom of Information request show that only 56 percent of head teachers even opened the email after it was sent by Education Secretary Michael Gove in April. These new guidelines help teachers identify which girls in their schools are at risk of mutilation or have already suffered from it.

The same data shows that only 45 percent “clicked through” to actually read the guidelines. This means that 1,724 London schools essentially ignored the effort to prevent abuse. 1,534 head teachers opened the email, but only 1,198 actually read it by “clicking through.”

These reports sparked further concern from campaigners and MPs that schools are not taking proper measures to protect vulnerable girls from mutilation.

It is uncertain why the UK has such a high FGM rate. One factor is that the young girls who are FGM victims are unable to protect themselves. FGM is rarely reported because family members are often the ones ordering it. A 4-year-old girl cannot or will not call the authorities and testify against her family. In addition, girls do not know how to bring up the issue even if they wanted to. Female sexuality is something not often spoken about in communities that practice FGM.

But probably the primary reason FGM is so prevalent in Britain is because of mass immigration of Muslims in the last several years. Most of the countries from which these people immigrate are African countries where FGM is a cultural and religious practice. According to a UNICEF report, Muslims are the primary religious group that practices FGM, and many women believe that it is a religious requirement to have FGM performed on them.

Another key factor may have to do with the way multiculturalism has caused British leaders to ignore crimes perpetrated by British Muslims. In many new reports addressing FGM in Britain, any reference to Islam is carefully avoided, even though the practice was unheard of in Britain until the immigration of Muslims to the country.

The purported Trojan Horse plot ‘ringleader’ co-wrote a 72-page plan in 2007 laying out his agenda for the Islamisation of state secular schools.

The blueprint set forth in Tahir Alam’s document closely resembles the changes that have recently been implemented in Birmingham schools. (Many of these changes have been documented in previous articles on our website, which you can read here and here.)

In his masterplan, Alam describes how schools must “take account of Muslim sensitivities and sensibilities with respect to sexual morality” and says that “girlfriend/boyfriend as well as homosexual relationships” were not allowed under Islamic teaching.

These plans were tangibly carried out when a boy and a girl in Year 11 were suspended for holding hands just weeks before exams. One staff member said that this has happened to several students in the same year.

Alam’s policies wanted “girls [to] be covered except for their hands and faces,” and called for gender segregation in school activities. Other activities banned include music that has immoral or “un-Islamic” lyrics, school plays, and dances.

Gender segregation has been a big issue. A Department of Education report discovered that girls at Park View had to sit at the back of the class. Former staff members revealed that female students complained that they were being treated unequally and were left out of in-class discussions. The agenda has also resulted in female staff members being “sidelined for years” according to a Telegraph Report.

Despite such actions, the Department of Education suggested giving Mr. Alam’s Park View Education Trust another Birmingham school to run while emergency inspections were happening at three other schools. However, this proposal has subsequently been cancelled.

In 2012, Park View manipulated the school inspection by bringing in a science teacher just for the two days inspectors were at the school. The former staff member said that the students at Park View are “just not getting the best…The Islamic ethos is overpowering and it’s dominating everything. The school has turned inwards and they’re just not preparing the kids for the wider world.”

As expected, Mr. Alam claims there is no plot. He is falling back on the popular trend of calling any anti-Muslim sentiments “Islamophobic,” and he is calling the investigations a “witch-hunt.”

Achmad da Costa, one of Alam’s close allies, conducted a special meeting in which he tried to rally local mosques to protest against the inspections.

Among the 25 schools currently under investigation, 18 have now been inspected by Ofsted. Park View will be one of at least 6 schools that Ofsted will rate as “inadequate for leadership and management.”

The Islamisation of Britain (Part 3): Censorship and Islamophobia

After bringing much of Eastern Europe under their sway, Muslims have been trying for centuries to gain control of Western Europe, including Great Britain. Having been unable to achieve this goal through direct warfare, Western Muslims have recently discovered that a far more effective tool is to harness the powerful ideologies of multiculturalism and political correctness. By strategically appropriating the language and processes of Western pluralism, Islamic communities have been able to forge a strange alliance with political liberalism and to shut down free speech in the process.

In Great Britain, this alliance between Islam and political liberalism has resulted in:

British law enforcement officers being hindered in their duty as the rights of Muslim criminals are elevated above the rights of their victims;
Stringent restrictions on the freedom of speech when it comes to criticizing the beliefs and practices of Islam;
The mainstreaming of halal meat (which is produced by slaughtering animals according to Islamic religious rituals) into British supermarkets and restaurants, sometimes without disclosure;
The emergence of parallel Islamic legal structures, based on Sharia law, within the nation of Britain itself;
The attempt to control thought by eliminating certain words, phrases and ideas from the public discourse;
An historical revisionism whereby Islamic terrorism becomes a species of the more generic category of “religious violence”, which is then assumed to also include Christian fundamentalism.

Space prohibits us from exploring all the above developments, so this post will focus specifically on how the spurious concept of “Islamophobia” is being used to shutdown criticism of Islam throughout the world in general, and in Britain in particular.

‘Islamophobia’ Turns All Criticism of Islam into Racist Offense

“Islamophobia” is the name given to a certain type of thought-crime. It was invented by the International Institute for Islamic Thought in the early 90’s and first began to appear in British newspapers in the mid to late 90s. Blogger Cheradenine Zakalwe researched the term and found that prior to 1997 it hardly ever appeared in public discourse.

Once Islamophobia began to be adopted more widely by the mainstream liberal media, it began functioning as an ideological weapon that enabled Muslims and their sympathizers to short-circuit crucial debate through the assumption that criticism of Islam is at best a symptom of irrational fear, and at worst a species of racism.

On the surface it seems preposterous that criticism of Islam (“Islamophobia”) could have anything to do with racisim. After all, Islam is a religion and not a race. However, the press frequently obscures this fact by using the terms ‘Muslim’ and ‘Arab’ interchangeably, even though the majority of Muslims are not Arabs. This semantic gymnastics allows the media to give the impression that Islam is a race and, consequently, to dismiss criticism of Islam as a racist offense or a hate crime against a certain people group.

The notion that Islamophobia is a form of racism is now taken as axiomatic by the liberal press. Huffington Post writer Nathan Lean declares that “Islamophobia is undeniably a form of racism” while Stephen Goeman writes that “race is what moves Islamophobes to hate.” Similarly, Sarah Ismail announced that “Islamophobia is one of the many varieties of this racism.” The testimony of dozens of other writers and public figures could be added to this chorus, all testifying to the idea that Islamophobia is a form of racism.

Is the historical Muhammad an embarrasment to contemporary Muslims? Judging from their fear of rational discussion about the historical Muhammad, the answer would seem to be yes. — Is the history of Islam an embarrassment to contemporary Muslims? The only problem with the association of “Islamophobia” with racism is that it is false. Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, former member of International Institute for Islamic Thought, later revealed the true intention of those who invented the term: “This loathsome term” he later confessed, “is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliche conceived in the bowels of Muslim think tanks for the purpose of beating down critics.”

This use of “Islamophobia” represents the ultimate inconsistency among Muslims who want to see their religion defended on rational grounds while simultaneously wishing to banish objective discussion of Islam’s more controversial tenets and historical origins (i.e., such as whether the Koran mandates violence, and whether the historical Muhammad was a paedophile, madman, murderer or imperialist).

Discussion of Human Rights Violations Censored by UN Council

The concept of ‘Islamophobia’ has even been employed at the highest levels of international diplomacy to give lawmakers political leverage to shut down important debate. We saw this in June 2008 at the United Nations Human Rights Council when David Littman attempted to present a joint statement from the AWE and THEU under agenda item 8: Integrating the Human Rights of Women throughout the United Nations system. The statement attempted to raise concern about Islamic atrocities throughout the world such as female genital mutilation, execution by stoning, child marriage and the hideous practice of burying women alive. Littman’s statement also suggested practical steps the Human Rights Council could take to combat these outrages. Instead of allowing Littman to raise these issues for dialogue, discussion in the chamber was continually stonewalled by representatives from Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries, who urged the council’s president to ban Mr Littman from speaking.

Littman’s offence: he was presenting information about Islamic practices like burying women up to their waists in pits and using blunt stones to increase their agony in death. The Islamic delegate from Egypt and other OIC nations eventually bullied the council into dropping discussion of these and other crimes since it involved references to Islamic law.

It is important to appreciate that representatives from OIC member countries went a lot further than merely urging the UN Human Rights Council to ban inaccurate criticisms. Rather, they urged that all criticisms of Islam be shut down, regardless of whether the criticisms were justified. One Senegalese diplomat made a report to the UN Human Rights Council urging that even to quote the Koran in the context of criticizing Islam is itself an act of bigotry and “Islamophobia.”

The irony was pointed out by Robert Spencer in his book Stealth Jihad: an international body dedicated to promoting human rights is now prohibited from discussing the fact that Islamic theology provides the basis for people to mutilate female genital organs or to stone people to death.

Jihad Against Free Speech

The tactics of contemporary Muslims should not surprise us since throughout history Muslims have believed that free speech represents a significant hurdle in their quest for global domination. What should come as a shock, however, is the way non-Islamic governments have begun co-operating with this jihad on free speech.

One of the most shocking capitulations has been the naive acceptance of the OIC’s attempts to mainstream sharia blasphemy laws under the category of ‘defamation of Islam’ and other innocent-sounding legal categories. We witnessed this in December 2011 when the Obama administration joined forces with 57 Islamic states to support a UN resolution that takes the first steps towards creating a legal instrument to criminalize the criticism of Islam.

Media Cover-up

The general public of Western nations still maintains a deep suspicion of Islam, especially after terrorist attacks. However, even this could change as the police and the media continually reinterpret acts of Islamic violence as having been done for motives other than jihad. This has even occurred in situations where the assailant explicitly specified religious motives.

Robert Spencer tells of a time when the American media even went so far as to change the name of a Muslim terrorist in order to conceal the fact that he was a Muslim (his name was Muhammad).

The Window of Free Speech is Closing

In sum, Muslims are quickly turning into a class that is immune to criticism, precisely at the moment when the West most needs to examine the implications of Islamic teaching. Faced with a powerful pro-Muslim lobby (often funded by Saudi oil) on one side, and the politically correct thought police on the other, the window of free speech is quickly closing in the West.

Great Britain has not been immune to these disturbing developments. In fact, as the numbers of Muslim converts increase due to breeding and conversions , one of the results is that they begin insisting on more and more privileges, including the privilege of being beyond criticism.

This became clear in 2009 when American talk show host Michael Savage was banned from entering the UK because of remarks he had made of Islamic teaching. In these remarks Mr. Savage talked about killing terrorists in the Middle East and he referred to the terrorists as Muslims. Even as the British Government was preoccupied with their campaign against Michael Savage’s “Islamophobic” remarks, the real threats to national security were allowed to slip through the cracks. Specifically, at this time the British government was organizing the release of the Libyan terrorist who was convicted of blowing up Pan American Flight #103 killing 270 people.
Similar examples could be multiplied endlessly, but I will limit myself to only a few:

In a 6 September, 2011 an article in Patheos criticized all the following public figures of “Islamophobia”: Robert Spencer, Pamela Gellar, Frank Gaffney, Brigitte Gabriel, Steve Emerson, David Horowitz, Glenn Beck, Daniel Pipes, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Sean Hannity, David Yerushalmi.
On 2 April, 2013, militant atheist and neuroscientist Sam Harris was taken to task for alleged racism after writing an article criticizing Islam.
On 23 March, 2013, Eric Brazau and Ron Banerjee were arrested outside the Liberal Party of Ontario for satirizing Islam’s treatment of women.
Imran Farasat, a Pakistani Christian who converted from Islam in 2004, faces deportation from Spain for producing a film about Muhammad, entitled ‘The Innocent Prophet.’
In 2008, 2009 and 2010, a group called “Acts 17 Apologetics” ran into harassment, bullying and police problems because of their outreach programs to Muslims. This led to arrests, a lawsuit and subsequent apology by Dearborn, Michigan officials in this article on May 6, 2013.
On 26 May, 2013, it was reported that Benjamin Flatters was arrested for racist and anti-religious statements on Facebook when he made comments criticizing Islam. Three other men were visited by authorities as well.
The Dutch cartoonist Kurt Westergaard has received many death threats and attempts on his life since publishing the “12 Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons” on September 30, 2005.
Muslim poet, Yahya Hassan, is under the protection of Danish police for a book he published “condemning Islam and its influence over his parents’ generation of immigrants.”

The point to realize about the above events is not that the victims were always justified in what they said or how they said it. Rather, we should be concerned when the mere criticism of Islam is looked upon as a criminal offense.

Robert Spencer Banned from Britain for Criticizing Islam

More recently, anti-terrorist writers Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller were banned from entering the UK for up to 5 years because of their pro-Israeli and anti-Islamic views. The pair had been invited to speak at an English Defence League rally in Woolwich for Armed Forces Day on 29 June 2013, but had to cancer their trip after being told they would be denied admittance.

The ban occurred on June 26, 2013 after Home Secretary Theresa May was bombarded with letters from Muslims asking her to ban the scholars from entering the country and complaining the Robert Spencer was a ‘hater’ because of his ‘Islamophobic’ views. The centre of the controversy is Mr Spencer’s belief that there is a connection between Islam and violence.

In explaining the decision, Home Secretary Theresa May quoted the following words which Robert Spencer was alleged to have said:

“…it [Islam] is a religion and is a belief system that mandates warfare against unbelievers for the purpose for establishing a societal model that is absolutely incompatible with Western society. Because of media and general government’s unwillingness to face the sources of Islamic terrorism these things remain largely unknown.”

For ideas such as these, Spencer was banned from entering the UK.

“Orwellian Denial of free-speech”

Robert Spencer is famous as a critic of Islam, but what is truly astounding is how the liberal establishment will even turn on one of their own as soon he lift a pen against the sacred cow of Islam. This is what Stephen Fry discovered when he tweeted a few words in defense of atheist Richard Dawkins’ criticisms of Islam. He was roundly accused of ‘Islampohobia’. ‘Thought better of you’, one tweet said, strangely. Reflecting on it later, Fry noted that

The squeezed liberal finds himself in the position that he cannot criticize Islamofascism because it’s somehow “racist” (although Islam encompasses many many races) or because it encourages acts of violence against innocent law-abiding honourable Muslims, which I would never for a second endorse. It is a topsy-turvy smothering of debate and an Orwellian denial of free-speech to declare that speaking out against violence will cause violence. I’m all for insult, as it happens, as long as it’s funny. But I have no time for assault. Only a few letters’ difference, but the two are a world away.

Even British lawmakers are bullied into keeping quiet. As Paul Austin Murphy pointed out in his revealing article ‘Islam and David Cameron’, “it would be impossible for the Tory Party to be critical of Islam itself because of the inevitable massive backlash from Britain’s three to five million Muslims; as well as from the Islamophile battalions of the Left.”

Islamists murder children in Nigeria

Schools have closed after Islamists murdered 22 school children in North-Eastern Nigeria.

The attack on a secondary school in Yobe came on Saturday and was carried out by Boko Haram, which literally means ‘book’ or ‘alphabet’ (by extension non-Islamic education) is ‘unlawful’.

The Islamists forced the children into a dormitory and then shot them before setting fire to the school.

As a result, Yobe Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has ordered all secondary schools to close until the start of the new academic term in September, to allow state and federal government officials and community leaders time to work out how to guarantee their safety.

Governor Gaidam condemned as “cold-blooded murder” Saturday’s attack on the Mamudo boarding school, describing the attackers as “callous and devoid of any shred of humanity”.

Boko Haram targeted two schools in the region in June, but dozens have been burned across Nigeria in attacks by Islamists since 2010.

More than 600 people were believed to have been killed in 2012 by the group, which is fighting to overthrow the government and create an Islamic state in Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north.

This attack is in spite of the State of Emergency declared by the Federal Government in three states including Yobe.

P.S. Home Secretary Theresa May MP is to make membership of Boko Haram a criminal offence this week under UK terrorism laws.

In contrast, the U.S. has failed to designate Boko Haram as an Foreign Terrorist Organisation and five days ago, US President Obama blamed the rise of Boko Haram not on militant Islam but on the Nigerian government.

Tomorrow, Channel 4 will begin broadcasting the Muslim call to prayer, coinciding with the start of Ramadan.

Channel 4’s move to broadcast the Muslim Call to Prayer during Ramadan has met with widespread incredulity.

Anjem Choudary, who is helping restore tranquility in Egypt by calling for the imposition of Shari’a in the troubled country, has welcomed Channel 4’s decision.

But elsewhere, the reaction ranges from the strongly negative to resigned shrugs, given the broadcaster’s track record of shock tactics in the audience ratings war.

Channel 4 will broadcast the Adhan at 3am from the start of Ramadan on 9th July. They have drawn the line at doing it five times a day. That will be left to the Channel 4 website. Wikipedia sums up the Adhan’s purpose like this:

‘The main purpose behind the multiple loud pronouncements of Adhan in every mosque is to make available to everyone an easily intelligible summary of Islamic belief.

‘It is intended to bring to the mind of every believer and non-believer the substance of Islamic beliefs, or its spiritual ideology. In modern times, loudspeakers have been installed on minarets for this purpose.’

In other words, the Adhan is there to drum the tenets of Islam into the ears. This is because the Adhan sums up the Shahada, the statement of faith: ‘There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’.

The British Constitution holds that there is no God but the Almighty God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is King of kings and Lord of lords. So every day during this Islamic festival, a terrestrial broadcaster in the UK will be broadcasting what in any other age would have been regarded as treason.

Ralph Lee, Channel 4’s head of factual programming, said: ‘Observing the adhan on Channel 4 will act as a nationwide tannoy system, a deliberate ‘provocation’ to all our viewers in the very real sense of the word.’

Lee added in an article in the Radio Times: ‘Following the horrific events in Woolwich and subsequent reprisals against British Muslims, there has surely never been a more pressing need to give a voice to the moderate mainstream majority.’

But that is not what the Adhan broadcast is doing. It would be more honest to say: ‘Following the atrocity in Woolwich, it’s a good time to shove Islam down ordinary people’s throats and whip up anti-Islamic sentiment.’

Muslim commentator Nesrine Malik, writing in the Guardian, said: ‘Apparently, there is an urgent need, post-Woolwich in particular, to show that Islam is a religion of peace and sacrifice. This is an inherently contradictory stance. If there is such a charged atmosphere in the UK vis a vis Islam, why “provoke” people by projecting this message even more loudly?’

There is another spiritual point to make, and it is to do with the power of proclamation, or confession.

Five times a day from mosques all over the world, an imam declares that Allah is the only deity and Mohammed the only true prophet. We can thank God that loudspeakers have not to date been permitted in Britain, but nevertheless, the Adhan is still being announced.

Would that Christians would proclaim with equal confidence:

‘Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.’

A planning application for a massive ‘megamosque’ in West Ham has been refused planning permission, but Christian leaders are warning the battle is far from over.

Local Councillors agreed with Newham planning officers that the proposed design was not appropriate and refused it, saying it did not fit with their vision of bringing housing and jobs to the area.

Planning officers tabled the application, put in by a charity behind the group Tablighi Jamaat, for refusal last week, reported the London Evening Standard.

But the hardline Islamic group intend to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate at Bristol, according to the Standard’s latest report.

Thousands of Muslims supporting the sect demonstrated outside Stratford Town Hall last night, and were countered in the spiritual realm by a prayer vigil organised by members of Christian Voice. Some members also reported having great conversations with Muslims, who view Jesus Christ as a mere prophet, superceded by Mohammed. They were able to show that Jesus was and is the Son of God, and pointed out that if Allah denies having begotten a son, then Allah and the Almighty are not the same being.

Christian Voice members have been meeting for prayer at the site of the proposed development on the first Saturday morning of every month since January 2007. They met on Saturday 6th April 2013 from 10.30am to 12.30. The next meeting is Saturday 4th May 2013.

The proposed mosque would be the size of Battersea Power Station and would dominate the Abbey Mills area, according to the architect submitting the proposal. It would accomodate 12,000 devotees, and be the largest place of worship in Britain, as well as the headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat, the separatist group who own the land.

‘We give thanks to God that councillors agreed with their planning officers last night despite massive pressure from Muslims supporting the proposal.

‘The battle is far from over and the focus of our prayer must now shift to Bristol and the appeals process. But the unanimous vote and what appear to have been robust grounds for refusal were welcome at this stage.’

National Day Of Prayer – Watch out for halal food!

A warning has been issued to Christians attending the National Day of Prayer and Worship being organised by Global Day of Prayer at Wembley this Saturday 29th September 2012.

Burgers, chicken and kebabs inside the stadium will be from animals sacrificed to Allah, the god of Islam. According to the NDoP&W website, food will be available from the Stadium caterers before 2pm and after 6.30pm. But Christians attending the milestone event will not know of the Islamic nature of the stadium meals on offer.

During a media investigation two years ago, Wembley Stadium told the BBC: “All the beef, chicken and lamb sold is Halal.

“The Halal meat is not labelled to customers.”

The Bible says very clearly that Christians are not to eat food sacrificed to idols. In a letter to the gentile churches, the Apostle James commanded: ‘That ye abstain from meats offered to idols’ (Acts 15:29). In his Revelation to the Apostle John, the Lord Jesus criticised two of the seven churches for teaching the people ‘to eat things sacrificed unto idols’ (Rev 2:14 & 20).

Prime Minister David Cameron – despite opposition from the church, has promised homosexual activists he will enact ‘gay marriage’ by 2015

‘However, the stalls immediately outside the stadium, including those in Empire Way on the walkway from Wembley Park Tube station, are all non-halal, including all the burger bars and one stall called the Great British Hog-Roast.

‘I would urge Christians to favour these independent caterers with their business rather than the corporate halal barons inside the Stadium itself.

Nick Clegg – recently had to rewrite a speech in which he described opponents of ‘gay marriage’ as ‘bigots’.

‘We wish the National Day of Prayer and Worship well. With our nation in such open rebellion from God, and with the abomination of ‘gay marriage’ being threatened by the Government, we are in need of some big, focused prayers for national repentance.’

Derby councillors approve super-mosque

A MOSQUE that could cater for 600 people, with a minaret towering 21 metres into the sky, will be built in Derby.

Derby City Council’s planning committee last night ignored advice from planning officers that they should refuse the application, pictured left.

The news was described as “devastating” from campaigners against the plans but scores of Muslims at the meeting audibly “thanked Allah” for the result.

Committee chairman Councillor Robin Wood said the mosque would “be an addition to some of the finest architecture in Derby”. The committee was told one planning problem remained of a kitchen wall and window that would overlook a neighbour’s garden.

But a spokesman for design consultant Archi-Structure said this could be “scaled back”.

He said the proposed site, on waste land, between Mill Hill Lane and Renals Street, was currently a “rubbish-strewn eyesore”.

Di Weston, of Mill Hill Lane, spoke for campaigners against the plan. She said: “I’m devastated. It’s too big and will dominate the whole area.” She said the residents’ parking permit in the area was not in force on Sundays or after 6pm and the roads would be full of people using the mosque at those times.

This news was the first we heard about a potential mosque in Derby. Planning applications for mosques and Muslim ‘community centres’ in other towns have been defeated by involving ‘Mosquebusters’.

But ‘Mosquebusters’ say the Derby protestors did not approach them for help and so the super-mosque has gone ahead. Mosquebusters is headed by a planning lawyer who has made investigating Islam a speciality and has a phenomenal success rate. But he says that if people don’t call, they can easily lose, as happened in Derby.

The Queen held a state banquet of halal food for the President of Turkey on 22nd November at which she assured him that HM Government would help Turkey join the European Union.
(1) Where and how and by whom were the animals slaughtered and cooked and which Muslim certifying authority approved it?
(2) Since when did it become HM Gvt policy to campaign for Turkey to join the EU? Actually, the answer to this is since at least 2007, when David Milliband visited Turkey. But it does not hurt to ask.
(3) Did no Christian on the guest list object to eating food sacrificed to an idol?

So who ate the Queen’s Halal nosh? Unless he went for the vegetarian option, the Archbishop of Canterbury was among those who feasted on food sacrificed to the idol ‘Allah’ at the Queen’s table. When the Queen or the Archbishop are guests of the President of Turkey (as HM was in 2008 on her state visit) do their hosts serve up and sit down to meat slaughtered in the British way, ie stunned and with no incantations to their god, in deference to the sensibilities of their honoured guests? No, because the Turks take their religion seriously.

Mosque defeated in Dudley

Following our article on the lawlessness of Islam and why mosques are bad news for the Queen’s peace, at last some good news.

A planning application for a ‘megamosque’ in Dudley, named ‘The Pride of Dudley’ by those behind the application, was refused last month (September 2011).

Despite last minute alterations and changes to the design by the applicant, members of the Development Control Committee unanimously refused the multi-million pound proposal from Dudley Muslim Association, calling it “characterless”, “featureless”. “inappropriate” and an “alien feature”, according to Dudley News.

Dr Kurshid Ahmed, chairman of the town’s Muslim association, said the decision was “Islamophobic”.

In some further good news, Dudley Council says it plans to start proceedings to take back control of the site, which was sold to the DMA on condition that the Council should buy it back in the absence of an approved plan by 2008.

A mosque proposal has also been defeated in Maidenhead. However, a proposal for a mosque in Green Lane, Dagenham, was approved by the Labour-controlled council in March, possibly under the impression that it would be a ‘community centre‘.

Conclusion: We are in touch with a planning lawyer (Gavin Boby) who assures us that it is possible to stop mosques at the planning stage if we know about the application early enough. If any of our members feel called to keep a weather-eye open for such applications by devoting an hour or two a week to various council websites, please let us know. P.S. It was reported in 2014 that planning permission was granted for the Dudley Hall Street Mosque, but as at September 2025 it is not clear if the mosque was ever built.

New figures for the numbers of Muslims in prison have revealed the shocking connection between Islam and criminality.

Despite being less than 5% of the population at the time of writing, Muslims represented 12 percent (9795) of the prison population in England and Wales in 2008, according to the latest available figures.

Muslim gangs are running many prisons, according to a BBC report. In high security prisons, Muslim percentages are well above average. In 2008, Muslim prisoners accounted for 34 percent of prisoners in HMP Whitemoor, in Cambridgeshire, and about 24 percent of inmates in HMP Long Lartin, in Worcestershire.

Ironically, Muslim criminals enforce a strict Islamic code in many of our prisons: people can be beaten up for eating pork or listening to western music. Inmates are being recruited into Islam and Muslim lags are being radicalised.

Britain is not alone: In Belgium the figure is 16% (12.8% Moroccans, 3.1% Turks) (EUMAP), 35% (NEWS) in Denmark 20% (NEWS). French prisons have between 50% and 70% Muslims (NEWS, NEWS, NEWS) whilst in Norway the figure is over 30% (NEWS) and in Spain 70% (NEWS). Not even Switzerland escapes, with 57.8% Muslims in Champ-Dollon prison alone (Champ-Dollon PDF). See HERE for the source of that information and more figures.

“The connection between criminality and Islamism is very tight in Europe,” said Michael Radu, a terrorism analyst at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. See Islamic radicalization feared in Europe’s jails.

Now it’s very hard for us in these islands, with our strong Christian heritage, to get into our minds that a mosque in an area can promote criminality. We are used to religion being a force for good. It’s a real scandal when a priest is caught molesting a choir-boy, a vicar committing adultery or a pastor failing to account for funds. People say they expect better from a Christian and they are right. The example of Jesus Christ leads Christians to peace and to keeping the law.

You don’t find Christians in prison for running illegal betting syndicates, manufacturing drugs, organising prostitution rackets,using violence to protect their interests. But it is not at all out of the ordinary for Muslims to be involved in these activities. You can do all of that and still be a ‘good Muslim’. Sadly, the example of Mohammed, who according to the Islamic scriptures was a brigand, a murderer, a torturer, a slave-owner and a rapist, who changed the rules to suit himself and taught his followers to lie in the cause of Islam leaves plenty of scope. That is why the building of a mosque will lead to an increase in criminality in an area. Radicalisation does not just bring the threat of terrorism, it brings the prospect of protection rackets and prostitution for the reason that Muslims – and radical Muslims in particular – despise non-Muslims and the indigenous population of the land. We are viewed as fair game to be plundered for the increase of Islam, whilst young un-attached non-Muslim females are seen as little more than the booty of war.

The disturbing reality of Muslim gangs grooming non-Muslim girls was exposed earlier this year. We shall return to this topic which gives added impetus to our prayer against the proposed ‘megamosque’ in West Ham.

In May 2011, Tablighi Jamaat won the right to stay on site with temporary planning permission for a further two years during which time they are required to put in a full planning application.

Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) are a controversial Islamic sect whose followers have been linked to a number of planned and actual terrorist atrocities.

Christian Voice members have been meeting for prayer on the Greenway overlooking the site on the first Saturday of every month without fail since January 2007. In that time we have seen architects and PR people sacked and general confusion, all in answer to prayer. Tablighi Jamaat’s initial boast, of a mega-mosque operating in time for the London Olympics, now lies in tatters. But we must press in the more.

The meeting is always a peaceful time of fellowship, worship and seeking the Lord in prayer and in His word.

: Houses of Parliament

These are the rules for writing any letter or email to your MP:

1 Ask your MP to ask a question of the minister responsible. This ensures you will get a reply. Never write to a minister direct. It makes your MP look redundant. Kill two birds with one stone.
2 Be precise. Do not ramble. State the matter in the first paragraph and make each point concisely. I always try to say everything on one well-spaced page. If you go to three pages, you have lost the game.
3 Be patient. Assume your MP knows nothing about the case, so explain carefully (but precisely!)
4 Be accurate. Do your own research or rely on a group like Christian Voice who check everything.
5 Be legible. If your handwriting is not up to it, type it or email and spell-check.
6 Be calm. No ranting and raving, no over-the-top comments, no snide remarks.
7 Ask your MP to agree with you if the occasion arises. This could be your question (see 1).
8 Keep to one subject. If two things are on your mind, write two letters, a couple of days apart.

Major restaurants, take-aways and sporting venues are secretly serving up halal meat. In another twist to the scandal of lamb and chicken being dumped on all supermarket own-brand shelves with the exception of M&S and Morrisons, meat sacrificed to Allah is being served up in major fast-food outlets and popular pub chains.

THE RESTAURANT TRADE
Halal chicken and lamb are likely to emerge from the kitchens in Harvester, Toby, Beefeater and Brewers Fayre restaurants. Whitbread, who own the latter two along with Premier Inns, have admitted that three-quarters of their poultry is halal. Mitchells and Butlers are responsible for Harvester, Toby and TravelLodge. They told Christian Voice that New Zealand lamb – of which 75% is halal – is being used as well as halal chicken in their outlets.

Traditionally, halal slaughtering was carried out without stunning, and many Muslim clerics still maintain that stunning of any sort means the animal is not ‘healthy’ when it is killed. But the Halal Food Authority now allows electric stunning, having been shown that animals can recover afterwards – if they are not cut in the meantime. So the problem is not principally one of animal welfare. Except in some franchises, the companies involved are adamant that the meat they use is from animals which are stunned before slaughter. But in many British abattoirs, a Muslim slaughterman is saying ‘Bismillah Allahu Akhbar’ (Arabic for: ‘In the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest’) over a large proportion of the lamb and chicken which ends up on our tables or in take-away cartons.

SPORTING VENUES AND PIZZAS DO NOT TELL
As there is over-production of halal meat, a lot of it is dumped on the non-halal market. So sporting venues like Royal Ascot and Wembley are selling halal meat. All chicken at Ascot is halal because it is ‘easier to store and cook only one type of meat.’ But it is not advertised as halal, which begs the question as to why the venue went down that route in the first place. At Wembley, all beef, chicken and lamb is halal, so a football fan with an objection to creeping Islamification has to stick to sausage rolls or bacon sandwiches. Again, there is no honest labelling at Wembley, nor at Twickenham, another sporting venue serving up halal chicken.

Turning to the High Street, the burger chains, McDonalds, Burger King and Wimpy appear to be halal free, but pizza outlets Dominos and Pizza Hut both use halal chicken in their toppings, much of it from halal abattoirs abroad. Halal chicken is imported from Brazil , Thailand and Turkey , undercutting domestic producers. One might think to avoid halal completely by ordering a ham and pineapple or pepperoni pizza, but some independent pizza outlets in areas with a Muslim population refuse even to handle ‘haram’ meat, which largely means anything made from pork.

KEBABS, INDIANS AND FRIED CHICKEN
It is fair to say that every kebab shop will serve halal lamb and chicken, if for no other reason than that the kebab is a middle-eastern invention. The kebab meat will be sourced from specialist suppliers, and if any of them are not Muslim, it would be very surprising. The same goes for curry houses. Most ‘Indian’ restaurants are in fact run by Muslims, not Hindus, and any restaurant run by Muslims will serve up halal lamb and chicken and will not announce the fact on the menu.

The most famous fried chicken chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken, sources some chicken from abroad for its 780 shops, and has just under a hundred halal-only outlets, running as an on-going pilot. Southern Fried Chicken is the next biggest, with 400 branches, which all operate as franchises. Nearly all are halal, and we were told that many announce the fact on the window. Miss Millies, located around Bristol , are totally halal. It is fair to say most the fried chicken outlets are franchises (KFC is 50/50 franchise and company), and most operate in big towns. Muslims are concentrated in towns and are heavily involved in the take-away trade. Is it any surprise that a majority of chicken take-aways are halal? Halal outlets often have a halal sign visible outside, as much as to promote themselves amongst local Muslims as anything.

Nandos, the chicken-based restaurant and take-away chain, have 234 outlets. Of these, 61 are halal-only and some chicken in the others is halal. Subway operate as a franchise as well, and a significant number of franchisees have gone halal, some of which put a sign in the window. Some halal Subways are so strict they will not serve pork, so a ham and cheese ‘sub’ is not on the menu.

AN OPPORTUNITY
If there is no halal sign in the window or on the menu, the Christian customer can either keep quiet on St Paul’s ‘don’t ask’ principle (from 1 Cor 10:25) or ask the local restaurant or chicken take-away if they are serving halal meat or not. At the very least that is an opportunity to explain your point of view, and then to share the Gospel. The Scriptural witness on this matter has made me seriously review where I am prepared to eat. I used to like fried chicken take-aways and the odd lamb madras, but I can eat them no more without checking they are non-halal first. Of course there is always fish and chips.

PRAY: That this information gets out and that there is an uprising of customer opinion expressed to the food industry. Whitbread told the Mail on Sunday they would ‘definitely’ provide information to let diners know their chicken was halal if their was ‘customer demand’ for it. So pray that the demand is shown. Christian Voice members have really made the big stores aware of the problem. Light is now even dawning at Sainsbury’s that it is the Islamic ‘Shahada’ or declaration that is the problem, not stunning. (It will take a miracle before the Co-op acknowledge any religious significance to the issue, but there we are.)

The same can easily be done with the restaurant and fast-food trade. Pray that the Lord guides and blesses this campaign and that He is glorified through it. As always, stress that it is the Islamic declaration to Allah, not the stunning issue, which is at the heart of your concerns.

BRITISH AIRWAYS STANDS FIRM
Britain ‘s leading airline has told Christian Voice that it has no intention of going halal-only, despite a Daily Mail story that its on-board catering supplier, Gate Gourmet, intended to become halal-only. Peter van Niekerk, head of GateGroup in the UK , said, ‘We are at the moment competing for some halal business and when we make that, the scale tips.’ He said the company would consult with customers such as BA and Cathay Pacific to ‘manage perceptions.’

But British Airways said bluntly: ‘While Gate Gourmet may be looking to produce more halal meals, our own in-flight catering is not changing. This means we will continue to provide halal meals at the request of individual passengers, on flights where this option is available.’

Our leaders are caught like rabbits in the headlights by Islam’s militant tendency. 9/11 and the 7th July London bombings took them unawares.

Trapped in a multicultural matrix, unassailed by truth or fact, they had to pretend that the militants were perverting Islam, when in fact they were simply, logically, working out its theology of world domination.

Concessions to Muslims

In what is supposed to be a Christian country, officials make all sorts of concessions to Islam – women-only bathing sessions at the local baths, halal food in schools and now in supermarkets, dogs banned on buses, Muslim check-out girls laying down the law on what they can and cannot pass through the scanner. Meanwhile, councils and companies, backed up by the courts, clamp down on Christians wearing crosses at work or offering to pray with patients.

I was locked up in a police cell for preaching the Christian Gospel at a homosexual event, the Mardi Gras in Cardiff in 2006. OK, the Crown Prosecutor withdrew the case, and sued South Wales Police and won, but can anyone imagine a Muslim being treated like that for anti-gay comments?

And our politicians’ bright idea to de-radicalise Islam? Throw money at the Muslim community. But because they deny the dominion theology of Islam, they have no mechanism to prevent that money ending up in Madrassahs and Mosques where the war in Iraq and our continued occupation of part of Afghanistan can be used to radicalise Muslim youth.

Despite what our politicians say, the presence of British soldiers in Afghanistan makes our streets more dangerous, not safer. We might be irritating Al Qaeda, forcing them to relocate a training base or two, but young Muslims are being radicalised right here in Britain , not over there.

Politicians ‘Islamo-friendly’

We have politicians on both sides of the Atlantic falling over themselves to be Islamo-friendly.

I was pleased in the end that Florida Pastor Jones did not go ahead with his Koran-burning, but the reaction to his idea proved his point. There was violence across the Muslim world. I feared for my Christian brethren in Pakistan , where they burn Christians, not books, and then Hilary Clinton proved how subservient politicians are to the Islamic tune by denouncing Pastor Jones at a dinner given to celebrate the Muslim Ramadan fast.

Boris Johnson, as Mayor of London, made much of his Muslim grandfather during the election campaign in 2008. Ken Livingstone had spent much of his term in office being nice to some extremely unsavoury Muslim characters. And during the election, Brian Paddick, not to be undone, said ‘ London is a better place because it has a strong Muslim community.’

The religious side of this counterfeit coin is the claim that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Ex-President Bush was convinced of it. Tony Blair too saw many ‘similarities’ between the two faiths and called the Koran a ‘progressive book’. But Mr Blair took the UK into the Iraq war on a lie, helped destroy that country along with public trust and unleashed Islamic State.

The Koran is not ‘progressive’, it is a rant. As to alleged ‘similarities’, The Bible records God saying of Jesus: ‘This is my beloved Son, in him I am well pleased.’ (See Matt 3:17 & 17:5; Mark 9:7 and Luke 9:35) But the Koran reports Allah saying he has no son. It would be a beneath his dignity, he says, to become one of us. Orthodox Christian theology understands God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Koran denies the Trinity totally.

’Religion of Peace’

Tony Blair was convinced – or tried to convince us – that Islam was a ‘religion of peace’ and he and his namesake Ian, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner were at pains to stress that it was followers of a distorted form of Islam who carried out the 7/7 London bombings.

Now David Cameron is singing from the same glee-sheet. He said of those critical of Islam: ‘They see no difference between real Islam and the distorted version of the extremists. They think the values of Islam can never be compatible with the values of other religions, societies or cultures.’ Politicians would be better ‘doing God’ by turning to Christ, the King of kings, than taking a chance at Islamic theology.

Rod Liddle said of the lightweight Cameron view: ‘Obviously the “Real Islam” isn’t people blowing themselves up, although a large proportion of Palestinians, Afghans and so on would argue that it is, as would one or two cadres sitting tight in their Keighley or Tipton bedsits. But ok, let’s give him that one. What about apostasy, then? The majority of Islamic states impose a penalty for giving up the religion, either through the state or sharia courts; imprisonment or death. Is this Real Islam or the “distorted version of the extremists”? It’s certainly the practice of the overwhelming majority of Islamic countries, and cleaved to by all four major schools of Islamic thought, even the comparatively liberal Hanafi.’

Britain: ‘picture is bleak’

But Cameron says rightly that the United Kingdom is less than admirable when viewed through an Islamic lens: ‘Here the picture is bleak: family breakdown, drugs, crime and incivility are part of the normal experience of modern Britain . Many British Asians see a society that hardly inspires them to integrate. Indeed, they see aspects of modern Britain which are a threat to the values they hold dear – values which we should all hold dear. Asian families and communities are incredibly strong and cohesive, and have a sense of civic responsibility which puts the rest of us to shame.’

They do, but only in the Islamic sense of wanting Islam to replace Secularism, which in the UK they wrongly identify as a form of Christianity. Muslims are not lining up to campaign for an end to abortion or no-fault divorce or legalised sodomy. They will defend their children from immoral sex education but that is the limit of their social engagement. Most Muslims hold the brutal, crass, indecent, hedonistic nation that we have become in contempt, and who can blame them?

With their population growing by immigration and fecundity – and the evidence does not support the fond notion that 2nd and 3rd generation Muslims will stop having the large families which their faith demands – their demands will grow more and more strident and politicians will grow ever more craven in the face of such a demographic bloc.

Stand up for Jesus Christ!

My answer? Christians need to stand up pretty fast for Jesus Christ, King of kings. We need to demand that our politicians place Christ at the centre of our law-making, and repeal the destructive anti-social secularist junk of the last fifty years. As part of that, we need to tell them to call time on multiculturalism and confess the King of kings of our Christian constitution. In that way we show Muslims that this is a vibrant Christian nation where Jesus Christ is Lord and stifle their ambitions of an British Islamic state.

Large sections of our establishment are already bowing the knee to Allah. If we don’t stand up for Jesus, before too long we may all be forced to join them.

Islamic Park Looms Over Welsh Valleys

The BBC reported that a Halal industrial park has been proposed for south Wales . The industrial park would be for Islamic goods and produce, and could mean about 3,000 jobs.

The proposed £150m Super Halal Industrial Park (SHIP) was revealed at an Islamic finance summit in London . The National Assembly of Wales government said they were “tentative proposals” and it would work closely with the firm, Halal Industries.

Mahesh Jayanarayan, chairman of Halal Industries, said Wales was chosen as the project’s site for its meat industries and affordable land prices. He was raising funds for the venture in the capital markets, through government grants, and by finding partners like supermarket chains and multinational food manufacturers to “cement the deal”.The project could launch in three to five years in the Rhondda Valley and would provide services like storage freezers, a product packing centre, and raw material storage for manufacturers for food production. Meat selection and processing as well as research and development would also be offered.

Mr Jayanarayan told the Reuters Islamic Banking and Finance Summit that Europe has no Halal industrial parks, despite being home to millions of Muslims.

The industrial park could create up to 3,000 jobs and would make the UK a landmark Halal centre for the region, Mr Jayanarayan told the finance summit.

“If you look at some figures, the halal sector in the UK is worth between £2bn to £4bn, the majority of that is imported. You have 2.5 billion people on the planet eating halal food, directly or indirectly,” he told the summit.

“You have to start somewhere. Most of the industrial park developers in this country will see the opportunity in this sector, and they themselves with start to develop,” he said.

But then businessman admitted: “We would prefer to go to places like Bosnia , where there’s a large Muslim population and economically deprived areas where we could seek EU grants.”

A Welsh Assembly Government spokesperson said: “We are aware the company has expressed an interest in investing in Wales and have met with them to hear their proposals.

“However, these are clearly tentative proposals at their very early stages of development. As ever, the assembly government will work closely with any company that wishes to invest in Wales ,” added the spokesperson.

Halal is an Arabic term meaning “permissible” and while it is often associated with meat, it refers to anything that is allowed in the Islamic faith. It is the opposite of ‘Haram’, ‘not lawful’.

If food were to be prepared by a non-Muslim it would become Haram. Therefore, although the Halal Industrial Park promises 3,000 jobs, these are 3,000 jobs for Muslims, not for the whole community in the Rhondda .

Close on the heels of the Halal Industrial Park , or even as part of it, would be a towering mosque for the 3,000 employees to attend. What is being proposed is a cultural take-over of the Rhondda Valley .

PRAY: That Rhondda Cynon Taf Council will state that it will refuse to allow the Halal Park to be situated in the County Borough. Pray that the Welsh Assembly will not be taken in by the promise of 3,000 jobs and will realise these are not jobs for the majority Christian unemployed of South Wales , but jobs for Muslims only. Let Mr Jayanarayan go to Bosnia instead.

Muslims to be offered therapy rather than prison

‘The Government’s plan to offer therapy to Muslim extremists instead of prosecution is criticised today by the leader of Christian prayer and lobby group.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice said today:

‘What extremist won’t sign up for therapy to escape prosecution for terrorism? The trouble is, the idea would have to use the techniques of the USSR to have a hope of success. Even then, Soviet-style brain-washing failed to crush all but a few of those Christians who fell foul of it. Even the Chinese find they cannot beat religion out of people, although that does not stop them trying. What hope has a well-meaning middle-aged lady and a cup of coffee against someone of deep Muslim convictions and a solid grounding in Islamic theology? They will simply deceive the counsellors and carry on as normal.’
