A warning has been issued to Christians attending the National Day of Prayer and Worship being organised by Global Day of Prayer at Wembley this Saturday 29th September 2012.

Burgers, chicken and kebabs inside the stadium will be from animals sacrificed to Allah, the god of Islam.  According to the NDoP&W website, food will be available from the Stadium caterers before 2pm and after 6.30pm.  But Christians attending the milestone event will not know of the Islamic nature of the stadium meals on offer.

Wembley Stadium. Meat inside the stadium is from animals slaugtered according to Islamic ritual

During a media investigation two years ago, Wembley Stadium told the BBC: “All the beef, chicken and lamb sold is Halal.

“The Halal meat is not labelled to customers.”

The Bible says very clearly that Christians are not to eat food sacrificed to idols.  In a letter to the gentile churches, the Apostle James commanded: ‘That ye abstain from meats offered to idols’ (Acts 15:29).  In his Revelation to the Apostle John, the Lord Jesus criticised two of the seven churches for teaching the people ‘to eat things sacrificed unto idols’ (Rev 2:14 & 20).

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘Christians attending Wembley on Saturday will not know from any labelling that they are being offered halal meat inside the stadium.

Prime Minister David Cameron – despite opposition from the church, has promised homosexual activists he will enact ‘gay marriage’ by 2015

‘However, the stalls immediately outside the stadium, including those in Empire Way on the walkway from Wembley Park Tube station, are all non-halal, including all the burger bars and one stall called the Great British Hog-Roast.

‘I would urge Christians to favour these independent caterers with their business rather than the corporate halal barons inside the Stadium itself.

Nick Clegg – recently had to rewrite a speech in which he described opponents of ‘gay marriage’ as ‘bigots’.

‘We wish the National Day of Prayer and Worship well.  With our nation in such open rebellion from God, and with the abomination of ‘gay marriage’ being threatened by the Government, we are in need of some big, focused prayers for national repentance.’

  1. I have to wonder if you have a problem with Kosher (Kashrut) food?

there are many close similarities between the 2 – especially when it comes to the process of animal slaughter (which is unnecessarily cruel and harmful to the people who eat it)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Islamic_and_Jewish_dietary_laws

You also say in the above article that “The Bible says very clearly that Christians are not to eat food sacrificed to idols”

Well – as Judaism, Christianity and Islam, being the three Abrahamic religions – actually worship THE SAME god – even if the names have been changed. So – if your are calling Allah an idol – youve just labelled Yahweh as an idol too!!!

Mr Green – do you ever put your brain in gear before coming out with this self contradictory, primitive minded nonsense?

And will you be brave enough to allow this post of mine through?

    • Kosher food is not dedicated to Allah at the point of slaughter. And both Jews and Muslims will deny there are any animal welfare or human health issues with it. For us, it is a religious matter, as you go on to take issue with, contending as the Muslims do that Allah and the Almighty are the same.

Firstly, Muslims will say that Christian Arabs refer to God as ‘Allah’. Well, the Arabic word ‘Al-lah’ means ‘the god’. or ‘the God’, if you prefer. We can draw no inference one way or another from the Arabic usage. If you have two different tribes each calling their god ‘the god’ or their main man ‘the chief’ it does not mean he is the same guy.

However, ‘Allah’ was what the pagan Arabs called their dominant god in al-Kabah, the black Cube in Mecca, at the time when Mohammed was born. We now know ‘Allah’ was the moon-deity ‘Sin’ (not ‘sin’ as we understand it, it’s a proper name – as in Sinai). Mohammed’s father was Abdullah, ‘servant of Allah’. Mohammed did neither invent a new religion nor serve the God of Abraham, he served the top pagan god – or idol – of the people of Mecca, and said that ‘Allah’ alone was to be worshipped.

But the main point is this. Muslims insist that Allah and Almighty God of the Bible are one and the same, that we have merely different understandings of the same God. Is such a view tenable?

Leaving aside the origins of Islam, and just looking at the respective scriptures, there is continuity and intellectual coherence between the Jewish and Christian scriptures, if I can refer to the Old Testament and the New Testament in that way. We read of the Holy Spirit in Genesis 1 and of the Son in Psalm 2 and obliquely in Psalm 110. The concept of God as father is well known. When the Lord prays ‘Our Father’ nobody says, ‘What are you on about?’

The Bible records Almighty God saying of the Lord Jesus: ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ (Matt 3:17 qv Matt 17:5, Mark 1:11 and 9:7, Luke 3:22 and 9:35) The Apostle John refers to the Lord Jesus as ‘the only begotten of the Father’ (John 1:14 and 18). Christ refers to himself as God’s ‘only begotten Son’ (John 3:16 & 18).

The Quran affirms the veracity of the Old and New Testaments, which it calls ‘the Law and the Gospel’. The composition of both were settled centuries before Mohammed was born, of course. He had the Bible as we know it today:

Surah 3:3. It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).
Surah 5:46. And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him:

Then the Quran denies repeatedly that Jesus Christ was and is divine:

Surah 4:171. O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, …
Surah 5:17. In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. …

The Quran denies that Christ was crucified, affirmed by all four Gospels, every New Testament author and Christian theology to this day. So it denies his resurrection and ascension to glory. The Quran is at pains to paint Jesus Christ as nothing more than a disciple of Allah.

Allah also denies vehemently in the Quran having begotten a son – it’s a bit beneath him to become one of us, he says. (The Bible says that is exactly what God did in Jesus Christ):

Surah 17:111. Say: “Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion:
Surah 19:35. It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, “Be”, and it is.
Surah 19:88. They say: “((Allah)) Most Gracious has begotten a son!”
Surah 19:89. Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!
      See also Surah 10:68, 17:111, 19:91-92, 23:91, 25:2, 37:149-153, 39:4, 43:81, 72:3, 112:2.

And of course, amongst the ’99 beautiful names of Allah’ not one is ‘Father’. To sum up, Almighty God has an only begotten son, according to the Christian scriptures endorsed by the Quran, while the same Quran says over and over that Allah has begotten no son.

So either we have two separate beings, or the Quran is wrong either in its endorsement of the Bible or in its statement that Allah has no son. I have not yet had an answer from a Muslim as to which it is.

So let’s just take Allah at his word. He says he has no son. Fine. You would think he would remember if he did have. And let us take Almighty God at his word when he says he has indeed begotten a son. Fine. They are not the same, then, are they?

That makes Allah a false god, an idol, and Christians may not eat meat from animals dedicated or sacrificed to him.

  2. I don’t think a false god is the same thing as an idol. An idol is usually conceived as a kind of statue, and in this case Muslims are very much less guilty of having them and honouring them than Roman Catholics are.

Clearly Muslims don’t recommend following everything in the Old and New Testament any more than Christians recommend following everything in the Old Testament. Nobody is denying that the practices of Jews. Christians and Muslims are different.

As Christians and Muslims are both very keen on the idea that God or Allah is the only God, it does seem reasonable to assume that he is the same. In Malaysia the one word Allah is used for both without question that it refers to the same god. Perhaps the people there are too simplistic.

    • To this day, Muslims kiss the black stone, the image of ‘Allah’, in the Cube in Mecca. The Greek word ‘eidolon’ encompasses both the image and the false god behind it.

On the contrary, the Quran endorses both the Old and New Testaments (‘the law and the gospel’).
It certainly does not follow logically that if I say mine is the only God in the world and a Muslim says his is the only God in the world that we are necessarily talking about the same God (or god). If it can be shown that my God has different characteristics from his, for example if mine has begotten a son and his has not, then they are different Gods (or gods). I shall say mine is the true God and his, if he claims to be the only god, is an imposter, a fraud, a false god, an idol, even a demon.

‘Allah’ is an Arabic word which means ‘the god’ (or ‘the God’ if you wish). Why Christians in Malaysia should want to call the Almighty ‘Allah’ instead of ‘Tuhan’ (the Malay word for God) is beyond me and is the subject of a court case there. As a Muslim was reported to have said by Time magazine: ‘”Everybody in the world knows Allah is the Muslim God and belongs to Muslims. I cannot understand why the Christians want to claim Allah as their God,” Rahim (Ismail) says as passersby, mostly Muslims, gather around and nod in agreement.’ See: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1952497,00.html

  3. Hello Stephen,

I would like to comment on your article and your subsequent replies above regarding the Muslim position on Allah. You have made some obvious errors regarding this issue which I am assuming were out of ignorance as opposed to any nefarious purpose. As a devout Christian I am sure that you would not deliberately distort information or convey it inaccurately.

The basis of your argument opposing Christian consumption of halal meat is that Christians quite correctly cannot consume meat offered to idols which you incorrectly believe includes Allah. My argument to you is that you are looking at this issue through the prism of a Christian who believes that Jesus was born in London and spoke English as his native tongue and that as many churches in the UK portray that Jesus had a European white phenotype.

The language Jesus spoke was Aramaic which is a precursor language to Arabic and the fact is that no bibles exist in the Aramaic language with all supposedly accurate English translations based upon Greek translations of the supposed original texts. As you can see there a lot of suppositions that one must overcome to be a believing Christian including the supposition that the Bible you quote from which differs depending whether you a Roman Catholic or Protestant is in itself accurate.

For the sake of succinctness I will answer your specific points in a separate comment. I sincerely hope that you publish my comments as I would expect a just and honorable Christian to do so.

  4. Hello Ignorant stephen.

Before misleading people on kissing the blackstone and refering it as 1. The Black Stone was sent down by Allaah to this earth from Paradise.

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Black Stone came down from Paradise.”

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 877; al-Nasaa’i, 2935. The hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi).

    You Also have said:
“However, ‘Allah’ was what the pagan Arabs called their dominant god in al-Kabah, the black Cube in Mecca, at the time when Mohammed was born. We now know ‘Allah’ was the moon-deity ‘Sin’ (not ‘sin’ as we understand it, it’s a proper name – as in Sinai). Mohammed’s father was Abdullah, ‘servant of Allah’. Mohammed did neither invent a new religion nor serve the God of Abraham, he served the top pagan god – or idol – of the people of Mecca, and said that ‘Allah’ alone was to be worshipped”

Firstly, Allah is no Moon diety as you claim, he is the same God as the God of The Christians and Jews.
I am a Muslim and this is the first time im hearing we worship a Moon God lol.
The Kabah is no God you ignorant Man, so do your research before making such allegations.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) kissed the Black Stone, and his ummah followed his lead in doing so.

It was narrated that ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) came to the Black Stone and kissed it, then he said: “I know that you are only a stone which can neither bring benefit nor cause harm. Were it not that I had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) kiss you, I would not have kissed you.”
    (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1520; Muslim, 1720)

It was only kissed due to it coming from the heavens not because of it representing an idol as you have claimed.

    JESUS WAS A PROPHET AND
ALSO A PARACLETE SAYS THE BIBLE..

A Christian who has studied the Bible would be proud to admit that the prophecy made by prophet Moses for the coming of “a Prophet like me” (Deut. 18:15) undoubtedly refers to the coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus himself had acknowledged this to be the fact when he said to the enquiring Jews; “Moses wrote of me.” (John 5:46). The learned Christians have no problem in admitting the fact that Jesus was “a prophet like his predecessor Moses”. Those who deny Jesus was a “Messenger like Moses” are either ignorant of their own Scripture or living in false pride.

In his First Epistle quoted below, apostle John records in explicit language that Jesus Christ the righteous was “a Paraclete”.

“My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have a Paraclete with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John. 2:1
Apostle John has also recorded in his Gospel, see the text below, that this righteous Jesus Christ (the Paraclete), will pray to God after his departure, and God will give us “another Paraclete”.
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you into the age (to come).” John 14:16
The Bible scholars and the evangelic Christians who, after reading these two explicit verses enter into a debate with the Muslim Scholars and INSIST that the PARACLETE is (was) the HOLY SPIRIT, and is (was) NOT the MALE FIGURE that could see, hear and speak like a man; are simply advocating and contesting that the Apostle who had lived with Jesus (is) was TOTALLY MISTAKEN. He made an ERROR in identifying the PARACLETE to be Jesus. In other words, Muslims should REJECT the EPISTLE of John and ACCEPT their opinions to be the UNQUESTIONABLE TRUTH. Would it not be a better idea that they all should send a petition to the editors of the New Testament and see that this erroneous verse 1 Jn. 2:1 is expunged from the Bible!
    Note:
We often read the above verse 14:16 ending; “for ever”. The fact of the matter is; “into the age” is the literal translation of the original Greek phrase; ‘eis ton aiona’.

In the next verse 14:17, John also records, this “another Paraclete” is the “Spirit of Truth” (NOT the Holy Spirit).

A MALE SALVIFIC FIGURE LIKE JESUS

The passage quoted below from the world renowned and distinguished Anchor Bible confirms that the original concept among the noted Christian scholars and populace, for the Paraclete was for a male salvific figure, but that concept was later confused with the “Holy Spirit”.

“The word parakletos is peculiar in the NT to the Johnannine literature. In 1 John ii 1 Jesus is a parakletos (not a title), serving as a heavenly intercessor with the Father. …Christian tradition has identified this figure (Paraclete) as the Holy Spirit, but scholars like Spitta, Delafosse, Windisch, Sasse, Bultmann and Betz have doubted whether this identification is true to the original picture and have suggested that the Paraclete was once an independent salvific figure, later confused with the Holy Spirit.” (page 1135).
Criticism and Response: A well known Christian critic, Jochen Katz, has been complaining on his web site “Answering Islam” that I have ignored his remarks; that my introductory note to the above quoted passage from the Anchor Bible gives a false impression that it’s author is in agreement with the quoted passage. Since his accusations were based upon a false statement, I did not feel it necessary to respond. Unfortunately, he has made my silence an “Issue of my Integrity”.
To mislead his readers, the critic had in one of his remarks, intentionally deleted the opening words from the above passage.
    I have re-printed below the deleted words in Red Types;

“The passage quoted below from the world renowned
    and distinguished Anchor Bible confirms”.

What I had mentioned was that the quoted passage confirms what has been suggested, based upon the suggestions made in the past by the individuals mentioned in the quoted passage. There was no mention of the “author” of the quoted book, to begin with.

    ——————————————————————————–

    THE NEGATION OF “HOLY SPIRIT”

The concept that the Paraclete (comforter, advocate) is the “Holy Spirit” is unequivocally negated by the following verse:

“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Paraclete shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” John 16:7
This verse clearly indicates that the coming of the Paraclete was subject to the departure of Jesus. His departure from this world was a *pre-condition* for the arrival of the Paraclete.
We know that the “Holy Spirit” was already present during and before the ministry of Jesus. The Holy Spirit was in existence since the day of the Creation and was hovering upon the surface of the earth (Gen. 1:2). It was also present with the prophets of the Old Testament. The “Holy Spirit” was present “like a dove” at River Jordan when Christ was being Baptized. (Mt. 3:16). Since there is and was only ONE “Holy Spirit”, Jesus would be totally mistaken in saying that the HOLY SPIRIT would NOT come not UNLESS he departs. Did not Jesus see the dove that alighted upon him? OR, Jesus did NOT know that the “dove” was the Holy Spirit? Jesus was a RIGHTEOUS Paraclete. When he said; Another Paraclete will come only after my departure, he meant that this Paraclete is not yet here, but will be born after I depart.

    ——————————————————————————–

    “HE” NOT “IT”

“When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness of me.” John 15:26
This verse further clears the confusion, if there is any. Here the Paraclete is called the “Spirit of Truth” and not the “Holy Spirit”. These are two separate terms and two independent entities. The first entity takes the pronoun “he” being a male figure. Whereas, the second one takes the pronoun “it”. The Greek word ‘pneu’ma’ (spirit), is of neutral gender and takes the pronoun “it”. Whereas, in almost all the verses referring to Paraclete quoted below, the pronoun used is “he”.
“But the Paraclete, the Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John 14:26
    Notes:
    1. In the older MS, Codex Syriacus discovered in 1812 on Mount Sinai by Mrs. Agnes S. Lewis (and Mrs. Bensley), the text of John 14:26 reads; “Paraclete, the Spirit”; and not “Paraclete, the Holy Spirit”. “The Spirit” is a reference to “the Spirit of Truth” as in 15:26.
    2. In 1 John 4:6, the terms “the spirit of truth” and “the spirit of error” are used for the human beings.

    3. History records that prophet Muhammad was known for his Truth and Honesty, long before he received the Divine Revelations.

    ——————————————————————————–

    WHAT WILL “HE” DO?
Jesus Christ did indicate that the Paraclete will do certain things in his time. Let us examine if “he”, Prophet Muhammad, did those things.
    1. “But when he, the Spirit of Truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own initiative, but whatever he hears, he will speak…” Jn. 16:13
Note: The Qur’an is a compilation of the “Divine Revelations” that were received by Prophet Muhammad, over a period of 23 years, through the arch angel Gabriel. The Prophet used to recite whatever he used to hear. His companions used to write down whatever he recited. The Qur’an does not contain the writings or teachings of Prophet Muhammad, as often mentioned by some misinformed authors.

    2. “He shall glorify me.” John 16:14
Note: The Qur’an glorifies the birth of Jesus through Virgin Mary. It confirms; Jesus was a Messiah, a Messenger of God, the Spirit from God, the Word of God and the Righteous Prophet.

    3. “He shall take mine and shall disclose it to you.” John. 16:14
Note: Prophet Muhammad did declare himself a Messenger/Prophet of God like Abraham, Moses and Jesus.

    4. “He will teach you all things.” John 14:26
Note: The Qur’an teaches a way of life. It guides mankind, how to live a pious life socially, politically and spiritually.

    5. “He will bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John. 14:26
Note: The Qur’an speaks about the teachings of Jesus and even quotes him.

    6. “He will bear witness of me” John 15:26
Note: The Qur’an attests the miracles performed by Jesus the Messiah. It also mentions one astonishing miracle performed by Jesus that the Gospel writers have not recorded (V:110). The Qur’an acknowledges that these miracles and signs were performed with the leave of Allah, by His righteous Servant and Messiah Jesus. The same is also attested in the Book of Acts 2:22; 3:13 (NASB).

    ——————————————————————————–

A PROPHET IN THE LAND OF KEDAR
Prophet Isaiah is considered to be one of the major prophets of the Old Testament. In the Book of Isaiah there are several prophecies about the coming of the Messiah. In chapter 42, Isaiah begins with a prophecy for the coming of prophet Jesus. After verse number nine, God declares through Isaiah, the “new things” that are to “spring forth” in the
    Land of Kedar.

In the Bible there is only one personality called Kedar. He was the grandson of prophet Abraham, through his son Ishmael (see Gen. 25:13). Kedar’s descendants had settled in Paran (Syno-Arabian dessert). In the Rabbinic literature Arabia is called the “Land of Kedar”. Prophet Muhammad was a descendant of Kedar.

    God declares through Prophet Isaiah;

“Behold, the former things are come to pass, and the new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. `Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth’. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voices, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare His praise in the inlands.” Isaiah Chapter 42, Verses 9-12.
God did reveal in the Land of Kedar, through prophet Muhammad – a direct descendant of Kedar, a “New Song” – The Qur’an (Koran). This happens to be the only Scripture to be revealed in the language of the Kedarites. The verses of the Qur’an are recited like a poem. Nearly 1.2 billion Muslims, residing all over the world, recite this “new song” and Glorify Allah, in their daily prayers, five times in a day. The initial Revelation came to prophet Muhammad in a cave of Mount Hira near the city of Mecca. There are several mountains near Mecca. During the annual Islamic Pilgrimage called “Hajj”, Muslims from all over the world, assemble in Mecca and shout Glory to the Lord from the top of Mount Arafat. The pilgrims continuously give Glory to Allah on their ways, to and from Mecca.

THE LORD SHALL GO AS “A MIGHTY MAN OF WAR”

“The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.” Isaiah 42:13
In the Old Testament, the God often speaks “I” will do this, or “I” have done this; whereas, He has chosen human beings to do these jobs on His behalf. (e.g. Deut. 32:39ff and 2 Samuel 12:12).
Note: Critic Jochen Katz has ignored the above paragraph while making his remarks.

Prophet Muhammad did go forth as “a mighty man of war” against the Pagan Arabs, the enemies of The Lord. He did stir up jealousy among the most influential and dominating Pagan tribe in Arabia. With a war cry and roar of “Allahu Akbar” (“The God is the Greatest”), the Prophet of Islam did prevail upon the enemies of Lord – the idolaters. No doubt, the Islam was spread with a “war cry”, but that was not a cry of a man seeking the personal power. It was a cry of the Lord, who no longer wanted to hold HIS PEACE against HIS ENEMIES. After the victory, Allah bestowed HIS FAVOR upon mankind and gave the Message of “TRUE PEACE” – The Islam. Once a person whole heartedly submit himself or herself to Allah (become a Muslim), the “True Peace” from Allah is bound to enter his or her body, mind and soul. The relationship of that individual with Allah is now direct, having no Church or Papal Authority acting as a vicar or an intermediary.

“I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself, now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.” Verse 14.
The prophets that came before Muhammad had all tried with peaceful missions. But, the concept of sharing God’s Glory continued to surface again and again, in one way or other. It was with the war cry, through the descendants of Kedar (Arabs), these sinful practices were destroyed and devoured, inside and outside of Arabia. The spread of Islam was swift, wide spread and at once.

    ——————————————————————————–

ISLAM TURNS THE DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

“And I will bring the blind by a way they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things I will do unto them, and not forsake them.” Isaiah Chapter 42, Verse 16.
    It is an undeniable fact that before the advent of Islam, the pagan Arabs were like the blinds. Their religious and social concepts were crooked. The revelation of this “new song” brought them out of that darkness. Earlier, God had not sent any prophet to these people. By sending Muhammad, God fulfilled His above promise and also the following promise to Abraham;
“And *also* of the son of the bondwoman I will make a nation, because he is thy seed.” Genesis 21:13.
Please note the word “also” in above promise. The nations of Judaism and Christianity came out from the descendants of Abraham and Sarah. The nation of Islam came out from the descendants of Abraham and Hagar. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are three children of Abraham by God’s Covenants with Abraham.
“They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images; they say to the molten images, ‘Ye are our gods.'” Isaiah 42 Verse 17.
History records that Prophet Muhammad did put the pagan idolaters to great shame when he demolished before them, their 365 idols that were installed in Ka’bah (Mecca), the most respected place of pilgrimage in the whole of Arabia. Today, Ka’bah is the Grand Mosque of Islam. Muslims from all over the world face towards Ka’bah while reciting their daily ritual prayers.

  5. Very good answers, Stephen. They are factual and tightly logical.
Having read the Koran and the Hadiths, I wish some other people would read them too, who–like our politicians and most of our “journalists”–merely have opinions on these writings. They are opinions all based on ignorance.
It’s a treat to read a commentator like yourself who deals in facts.
The idea of all faiths being the same and leading to the same God is palpably ridiculous.
If a group of people all have contradictory beliefs then all of these people can be wrong. They cannot all be right. One at most can be right. Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Pagans and Moslems have so many beliefs which are totally irreconcilable with each other.
E.g., Bible-believing Christians (that is, true ones) have a lot of beliefs similar to the Jews. But even there they have irreconcilable differences when it comes to the Messiah (except for Messianic Jews). That’s why C.S. Lewis wrote, spiritually speaking: “The Jew knows more than the Pagan and the Christian knows more than the Jew.” HIs statement shows that all beliefs differ and contradict each other.
Jesus claimed that salvation is of the Jews [John 4:22]. I was educated as a Catholic and therefore know Catholics do not believe that–neither do Replacement Theology (Heresy) “Christians”. These people claim to be Christians and do not accept what Christ says. That point alone shows that all faiths do not lead to the same God.
Ecumenism is not only wishful thinking, it is unscriptural and illogical.

  6. Halal meat are meat done under Islamic directives and for Islamic purposes. And therefore organizing Christian activities like such with Halal food at display is conflicting if we knowingly patronise these foods.
On the other hand there is nothing wrong with Christians buying non-islamic items just chips from Muslim sellers. Food sacrifice to idols are for the idol worshippers, halal food are for Muslims and food prepared under christian instructions if any like communion bread and wine are for Christians.

The problem is when an item has ritually been treated for their specified purpose of which Christians don’t need or required. I don’t think Christians have anything against Muslims treating their meat that way for themselves since that is their belief. That brings religious tolerance into play.

  7. I think if I was at a dinner party and the host announced that the meat had been sacrificed to an idol then I would have a conscious issue as a Christian if I was to eat it.
Most of the meat I buy is from Tesco’s and I honestly have little knowledge of its origins.
I went to the National Day of Prayer at Wembley and thought it was a great day where Christians were united for a common purpose. I didnt buy a burger inside the stadium and that was far from my mind.
In an otherwise clear blue sky there is always someone who focuses on the one visible cloud

  8. Allah in the Christian Bible, The Rev. C. I. Scofield, D. D. with a team of 8 Consulting Editors, also all D.D.’s in the “Scofield Reference Bible” thought it appropriate to spell the Hebrew word “Elah” (meaning God) alternatively as “Alah” The Christians had thus swallowed the camel — they seemed to have accepted at last that the name of God is Allah — but were still straining at the gnat by spelling Allah with one “L”! (Photographic reproduction of the Bible page will be emailed upon request). References were made in public lectures to this fact by the author of this booklet. Believe me, the subsequent “Scofield Reference Bible” has retained word for word the whole commentary of Genesis 1:1, but has, by a clever sleight-of-hand, blotted out the word “Alah” altogether. There is not even a gap where the word “Alah” once used to be. This is in the Bible of the orthodox! One is hard pressed to keep up with their Jugglery. Also to note, Coptic Christians (Arab Christians) in their Bible and spoken language refer to God as Allah. The word Allah is a pure name for God, it can not be played around with, altered or changed like the word God. By definition Allah means the first, the last, nothing came before him, nothing comes after him, the everliving living the eternal, the self sufficient. I’m sure Christians agree to that. Qur’an 22:37 Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thanks.

    • No, the Schofield Reference Bible is not the Bible of the orthodox, but a highly contentious edition. We stick to the King James Bible here.
By definition, Allah means ‘the god’ just as Illat means the godess, which, by coincidence, is the name of one of Allah’s three daughters.
It is only a son Allah did not beget.

      • Hi Stephen, thanks for the reply. I’ve never knew Allah had “three daughters”. This is clearly a false claim with no evidence to back it. The Quran in chapter 12 (Ikhlas) says: Say, ‘He is God the One, God the eternal. He begot no one nor was He begotten. No one is comparable to Him.’ Ikhlas conveys the meaning of sincerity in one’s religion and total dedication to the One true God. Because of the importance of this theme in Islam, the Prophet said that this chapter, despite its brevity, was equal to one-third of the Quran. You saying Allah has a daughter totally contradicts the Quran and Islam. Show me evidence please. Thanks.

  9. Thanks Stephen for all your hard work, may HasHem be praised for you are willing to be used for His gloy ! 🙂
