Tommy Robinson: ‘Hate Chants’ and ‘Far Right’? Were there? Is he?
With a rally being organised by populist Tommy Robinson scheduled for Saturday 13th September, this could be a good time to remind ourselves of what happened at, and what the chattering classes said about, the previous one, in June 2024. Watch the video below, or read the transcript.
Video Script: I was in and around London last Saturday 1st June, but nowhere near a march and rally in Parliament Square organised by one Tommy Robinson. From the footage on Twitter it seemed good-natured but purposeful.
‘London not Londonistan’
The front banner, ‘London not Londonistan’, says it was opposing Islam, and clearly, in particular, the pro-Hamas and anti-Israel parades which have shamed our cities.
There was much waving of Union flags and St George’s Crosses displaying at the very least a patriotic passion for British identity.
Isn’t it odd how ordinary people instinctively know the truth of the Bible, in this case, a word from Proverbs:
Prov 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
And should our minds not be challenged when in the next chapter, the writer links that principle to a desire for justice for the poor?
Prov 23:10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:
’Hate Chant’ from ‘Far-Right’

As I say, I wasn’t there, but according to the clickbait headline of the Daily Telegraph’s article on the event, by its Senior Reporter Henry Bodkin and its Environment Editor Emma Gatten:
‘Tommy Robinson supporters shout out ‘hate chant’ at far-Right London demo’ with a sub-text ‘Metropolitan Police on high alert having identified individuals in the crowd ‘associated with violent disorder’.’
Looking a little deeper, the ‘hate chant’, an expression which appeared in the headline but nowhere in the actual article, consisted merely of some of the marchers asking, in somewhat colourful language, who is ‘Allah’? (It’s here – but there’s bad language.)
‘Allah’ means ‘the god’ in Arabic. He is the Islamic, Muslim deity.
Who indeed is ‘Allah’?
Their robust language served a purpose. It said Allah has, at this time at least, no authority over this United Kingdom. They were saying ‘Allah’ is a nobody in this realm. And that’s a hate chant?
Going further, in the Koran, ‘Allah’ denies he ever had a son:
Koran 19:35: ‘It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son.’
‘Allah’ also denies our Lord’s crucifixion, and his deity:
Koran 4:157: ‘That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him,’
Koran 5:75: ‘Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger;’
‘Allah’ is therefore on his own admission not the same person as the triune Almighty God who stands at the head of the United Kingdom’s Christian constitution.
Who and what is ‘Far-Right’?

And I have to say, if standing up for the Christian faith in these islands is now ‘far-right’, quite a few Daily Telegraph readers will fall into that category.
I wonder if ‘far-right’ has now become little more than a dismissive insult, a smear. It was funny watching ex-Labour MP, Luciana Berger, who now runs a PR company and is a member of the Jewish Leadership Council, also denouncing the marchers as ‘far right’ on Dewbs & Co on GB News. She was promptly skewered by Michelle Dewberry when she refused to provide any examples of suspect banners or chants she said she had and then defined ‘far-right’ as ‘anyone to the right of the Conservatives.’ Watch from 29:30. ‘Far-right’ from 33:28.
I wonder if the real problem for Luciana, and the Telegraph’s Henry and Emma is that the folk on the march were overwhelmingly working-class with quite a few football supporters among them. Not exactly Luciana, Henry and Emma’s sort of people, don’t you know.
Counter-demonstrators arrested

As to disorder, during the day, the police issued a statement saying:
“Officers have identified individuals within the crowd who have a history of being involved in violent disorder.
“A number have football banning orders and are associated with hooligan groups from London and across the UK.
“There is also an element of the crowd previously well known for involvement in anti-lockdown protests during the pandemic and associated disorder.
“While there have not been any offences so far, a number of people in the crowd are intoxicated. The event still has a number of hours left to go.”
It turned out the only people arrested were from a Muslim counter-demonstration called Youth Demand, who, I can only assume, were stone-cold sober. (P.S. Sorry: Any Muslims might have been, the middle-class kids possibly not.)
Anti-Lockdown Protesters
But the police also seemed to be saying that ‘involvement in anti-lockdown protests’ was a reprehensible activity and that they know who was involved in those.
Are we now in a surveillance state?
If so, and if you are with the psalmist, who said:
Psa 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
You might want to stand up for your liberty now before you lose it.
It’s a spiritual battle
And that word from the psalms leads me to observe that the marchers are trying to solve the puzzle of our British identity crisis with only half the pieces.
Yes, it is right to oppose Islam. But you also need to embrace the Christian heritage of this United Kingdom, and if you are not yet a Christian yourself, to make Jesus Lord of your life.
I’ll be blunt: This is a spiritual battle and you cannot fight it in your own strength. You will win it only by being in Christ and being clothed, as we say, with the Gospel armour, wielding the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.
(Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God).
Needed: Laws of God and Faith in Jesus
‘British values’ won’t hack it.
Only a return to the laws of God, faith in Jesus Christ and being filled with the Holy Spirit can and will defeat the twin antichristian ideologies of Secularism and Islam.
As was shown to the Apostle John in his Revelation:
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Prayer
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, will you raise up God-fearing men with enough humility to seek your face, and Lord, send your grace to convict Luciana, Henry, Emma, OK, Michelle and the supporters of Tommy Robinson, and for that matter the activist himself and all who care about this land and its people of their sin and their need for the forgiveness and the saving, spiritual power of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
