And they are not above spreading some lies to achieve their aim.
’56 BILLION animals are crammed into filthy, windowless cages and slaughtered every year to feed our meat addiction’, screams the latest email from one ‘Danny Auron’. He sent that to the 46 million people (like me) on the Avaaz email list.
What does Danny want you and me to do? Well it’s not ‘send them money’ this time. Nor is it signing an Avaaz petition. There is no ‘clicktivism’ involved at all. He wants us to ‘go meat-free just one day a week’.
Perfect design – for our benefit
Leave aside that there are many people in the world for whom a couple of meals of meat a week would provide much-needed protein. And with around two-and-a-half times as much protein in chicken as beans, that’s important. No, this is directed at the West, where you can easily make up in supplements what you aren’t getting in your trendy vegan diet.
Sheep spend most of their time grazing, converting poor-quality food (that’ll be grass) into protein for us to eat. No-one is eating Dawn or her lamb though. They are breeding ewes.
There is a lot of grass in the world and sheep and cattle are designed by our gracious maker to eat it. We cannot eat grass. However, they turn it into protein which we CAN eat.
There is a good reason why a sheep spends nearly all its waking hours either grazing or chewing the cud. And there is a good reason us (and the farm cats) spend around half an hour a day actually eating. The grass they eat has low nutritional value. What we eat in a balanced meat-inclusive diet has high nutritional value. Moreover, the Almighty has designed it like that, for our benefit:
Psalm 104:14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
Avaaz have lied about conditions
Now, if people want to go veggie or vegan, fair play. But Danny, don’t lie to persuade them to do so. Where does the ’56 billion’ figure come from? Avaaz have lifted it straight off the Animal Equality website. Not that Avaaz own up to that.
The Animal Equality crew themselves are not averse to a bit of smoke and mirrors. But at least they only say: ‘Over 56 billion farmed animals are killed every year by humans’. Which makes sense. Just under one billion are slaughtered in the UK alone, according to the Humane Slaughter Association. Most of those are chickens.
But for Avaaz, those animals, every single one of them, are ‘crammed into filthy, windowless cages’. Well, ours aren’t. Our cattle are in the yard right now, eating the silage we harvested for them in the summer. Our sheep are out in the field, happily grazing. On our farm, there is not a single windowless cage in sight. Even in the poultry sector, the momentum is all against battery cages and towards barn-rearing, free-range and organic.

But Avaaz will never use one egg in a pudding when a couple of dozen will easily do. Accordingly, for Danny Auron, every ranch and every smallholding is a ‘disgusting factory farm’. Our meat consumption is ‘fueling mass animal torture’, he yells. And of course, wouldn’t you know it, ‘it’s killing our planet!’
Apparently, ‘Livestock contributes more to global warming than all cars, planes, and buses worldwide’. ‘It’s gotten out of hand!’ he shrieks.
Well, here’s a funny thing. For the World Wildlife Fund: ‘Global warming is caused by human activities like burning fossil fuels, deforestation and farming.’ LiveScience.com say: ‘Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, are increasing greenhouse gas levels, leading to an enhanced greenhouse effect. The result is global warming and unprecedented rates of climate change.’ So, yes, farming contributes, if you accept the global warming hypothesis, but it’s only one part of human activity.
Bible: Dominion over the cattle
Theologically where is this coming from? On their ‘About’ page, Animal Equality say: ‘Our vision is a world in which all animals are respected and protected.’ Therefore, we should not see them as the Bible portrays them, as ‘inferior beings whose reason for existence is to provide us with meat, milk and eggs’ The Bible reports:
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
That, apparently, is ‘speciesism. ‘We need to stop thinking of them as just resources, and to start viewing them for who they are: individual sentient beings whose lives deserve to be respected and valued,’ say the activists.
In that case, there will be none of them. Farmers like us raise meat animals for slaughter. No demand, no animals on the land, however sentient they are. And make no mistake, animals are smart. They evaluate situations and make decisions. But they have no purpose in farming apart from their value to mankind. Even in the wild, they are prey animals who will eventually, mostly, be killed.
Emotional blackmail, dishonesty and hyperbole
People can go vegetarian or vegan if they want. But why does it need emotional blackmail, dishonesty and hyperbole to make the anti-meat case? In addition, if speciesism is a terrible thing, what have the animal rights folk to say about malaria or flesh-eating parasites? Surely the mosquito and the worm have a right to life? Intellectually and theologically their case is unsustainable, and it may well be it is ecologically bereft as well.
But the story allows us to mention an auspicious period in British history.
Historian Tony Adler had said the UK government official archive was ’empire bashing’.
The archive, based in Kew in west London, at first rejected the complaint. Later, it backed down and withdrew its entire display, entitled ‘Empire and Colonialism’.

National Archive lacked ‘due impartiality’
The National Archive admitted it was presenting a view of Britain’s colonial history without ‘due impartiality’ in its exhibition at its Keeper’s Gallery visitor centre.
Central to the accusation was an accompanying early photograph captioned ‘East African slaves taken aboard HMS Daphne from a dhow 1 November 1868.’ A subtext implied they were victims of cruel British imperialists. The exhibition claimed that British rule over its colonies was ‘profoundly oppressive’.
However, journalist Robert Hardman said the exhibition curators made a serious mistake. The poor souls on HMS Daphne were not victims of oppressive British slave-trading. On the contrary, the Royal Navy had just rescued them from an Arab slave ship.

Captain George Sullivan kept a record. This confirms he was a small but committed part of an aggressive program to eradicate the slave trade in the Indian Ocean. The campaign freed thousands of enslaved East Africans. Moreover, a number of British sailors lost their lives.
Admiral Ballard spoke of HMS Daphne seventy years later, in July 1938: ‘Each of her commissions lasted four years, and her ever recurring appearance at so many successive slave running seasons earned a tradition of wrath at the mention of her name among the merchants in that line of business’.
Following feeding, washing and attendance by the ship’s doctor, the former slaves shown in this early photograph were put ashore in the Seychelles to begin a new life of liberty. But the reality did not suit the anti-British narrative of the National Archives.
Christians abolished slavery

Above all, the National Archive failed to mention the prolonged and ultimately successful anti- slavery campaign by William Wilberforce. Firstly, the MP abolished the slave trade. The Abolition of the Slave Trade Act became law on 25th March 1807.
On his death-bed Wilberforce heard that slavery itself would be abolished in Britain and its colonies. Parliament passed the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833. As a result, thirty years later, HMS Daphne, launched in 1866, was rescuing slaves from Arabs in the Indian Ocean.
His friends in the ‘Clapham Sect’ were equally passionate to build the Kingdom of Jesus Christ on earth. They will have been well aware of this scripture condemning the slave trade:
Exodus 21:16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
Islam is a religion of oppression
In contrast, Islam, the religion of the Arab slave traders, was happy with slavery from its inception and still is today. Muhammad himself was a slave owner and trader. Muslims were the prime slave-traders along the East African coast. The Royal Navy should be proud of confronting them. The truth is, it was the Christian heritage of this United Kingdom which animated such a robust response to Muslim wickedness.
Our history as a trading nation has not always been that good, and our trade policy far less than fair. Nevertheless, HMS Daphne’s story is heartening, and the National Archive and British people as a whole should give God the glory for it.
During the six-week long campaign, he was asked repeatedly about his religious beliefs and, specifically, about whether he believed gay sex was a sin.
After initially appearing not to answer the question directly, he said he did not want people getting the ‘wrong impression’ about his views, telling the BBC ‘I don’t believe that gay sex is a sin’.
Foolish and wrong
But yesterday, the ex-Lib Dem leader told Premier Christian Radio he had been ‘foolish and wrong’ and had spoken partly to try and get the issue of his faith ‘off the table’.
The committed Christian said the focus on his beliefs stopped him getting his message across during the campaign.
‘It was a little bit like having your main advertising hoarding permanently damaged and vandalised,’ he said.
Mr Farron stepped down as leader of the Lib Dems after last year’s election. He is now his party’s environment spokesman.
But in an interview yesterday with Premier Christian Radio, he said he now regretted not being honest with himself at the time. Furthermore, he admitted his answers had been motivated, partly, by political expediency.
Tim Farron under pressure
Asked whether he had felt under pressure to deal with the issue while touring the country, he replied: ‘The bottom line is, of course, I did.’
‘There are things – including that – that I said that I regret. There was a sense I felt I had to get this off my table: here’s a general election, a great opportunity for the Liberal Democrats… and all they wanted to do was talk about my Christian beliefs and what it meant.’
‘I would say foolishly and wrongly, [I] attempted to push it away by giving an answer that, frankly, was not right.’
Part of the difficulty he said he found himself wrestling with was the different understanding of what sin constitutes for Christians and non-Christians.
‘In the end, if you are a Christian you have a very clear idea of what sin is. It is us falling short of the glory of God, and that is something all of us equally share.
‘So to be asked that question is essentially to persecute one group of human beings because sin is something, Jesus excepted, we are all guilty of. But if you are not a Christian, what does sin mean? It is to be accused of something, to be condemnatory, and so we are talking different languages.’
Society tolerant – apart from …
Reflecting on his experience, he said he did not believe there was ‘a wicked agenda’ to marginalise or ridicule Christians. Nevertheless, there was a risk of society becoming ‘tolerant of everything apart from the things we don’t like’.
He added: ‘There are some who just can’t comprehend that somebody can have really strong convictions and be a Bible-believing Christian on the one hand and at the same time really passionately believing in people’s rights to make their own choices, which essentially is what liberalism is.’
Our only point of difference with Mr Farron is over his belief that his faith should not colour his political views. That is a form of pietism. It stands in contrast to a theonomic view that God makes laws, not man. For example, Jacob Rees-Mogg holds, with Tim Farron, a scriptural view on the sinfulness of sodomy. But Mr Rees-Mogg voted against gay marriage. Mr Farron voted for it.
More Credit to Tim Farron than Vince Cable
Nevertheless, we give Tim Farron great credit. He did wrong, he has admitted it. And full credit also to Premier Christian Radio for giving him a platform. Ours is not an army which shoots its wounded. His humility and repentance should encourage us all to stand full-square on the rock of faith, trust the word of God and proclaim the truth.
In addition, we know where Tim Farron stands. He has made himself perfectly clear. The one who comes out with no credit at all is Vince Cable, current leader of the LibDems.
@vincecable tweeted: ‘I strongly disagree with @timfarron’s personal views expressed today. @libdems have a long & proud record of fighting for #LGBT+ rights: campaigning to repeal section 28, equalising age of consent and legislating for equal marriage. I will continue to champion rights and dignity.’
Is Mr Cable stupid or just being deliberately obtuse? Tim Farron voted for all those things. He may well have been wrong to do so, but he did.
‘Dangerous’ and ‘offensive’
Back in November 2017, Mr Farron gave a speech to the Theos think tank. He said devout Christians are seen as ‘dangerous’ and ‘offensive’ in modern Britain.
Tim Farron said the idea that there was a ‘unifying set of British values’ was a ‘myth’.
The MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale said: ‘If you actively hold a faith that is more than an expression of cultural identity you are deemed to be far worse than eccentric.
‘You are dangerous. You are offensive,’ he said.
‘Being homosexual’ not a sin
We want to be very clear that ‘being homosexual’; in the sense of suffering from same-sex attraction, is not a sin. It is pathological and may keep someone from full communion with the Almighty, but ‘being’ that way inclined is not a sin. It is doing homosexual acts which is sinful and dwelling on them ‘in the heart’. There is such a fine line between temptation and sin, but temptation as such is not sin. The Lord Jesus experienced temptation, but never sinned:
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Many of those who suffer same-sex attraction have been abused and then identify with the aggressor. A boy molested in a children’s home, for example, can then grow up thinking he is homosexual and experience those same desires. He needs the forgiveness of Christ, as we all do, but he also needs healing and probably deliverance. That being said, the word of God says plainly:
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
An abomination
Moreover, we read in the words above that homosexual activity is an abomination. Verse 22 is the only time that word is used in Leviticus 18 and verse 13 the only time in Lev 20. The Hebrew word is ‘To’ebah.’ It means morally disgusting.
(By the way, the word for shellfish and other unclean foods, also unfortunately translated ‘abomination’ all through Leviticus chapter 11 in the King James Bible, is the Hebrew word sheqets.’ Sheqets just means ‘dirty’. Not that homosexual acts aren’t dirty as well as being an abomination. But the Bible doesn’t say that. We digress. But we see the difference.)
In response to those homosexuals who snarl, ‘So I’m an abomination, am I?’ we need to say having same-sex desires itself is not an ‘abomination’. Nor is any individual homosexual ‘an abomination’. That is, not until their doing becomes their being. There comes a point where your day-to-day sinful activity defines you. And we have to say that promoting such activity to school children is an abominable thing to do as well.
Moreover, I strongly believe that such depravity in mind or body provides an open invitation to the demonic.
God’s plan for humanity
Many people think Leviticus, or even the story of Sodom in Genesis 19, is the first time God speaks about human sexuality. But it isn’t. The Creator’s plan is for humanity to be formed around the societal institution of heterosexual love and marriage is revealed in the first two chapters of the first book of the Bible. In Genesis we read:
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
The Lord Jesus brought these two scriptures together in his answer to the Pharisees:
Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
And of course, being one flesh, in that full physical, emotional and spiritual sense, is something a pair of gays, or two lesbians, can never do. They lack the complementary physical, emotional and spiritual equipment.
Forgiveness, deliverance and change
We need to bring in some good news at this point. Yes, we know there are many routes into homosexuality, which we might define as an inability as an adult to relate emotionally and sexually to a person of the opposite sex.
Homosexual activity is sinful. Nevertheless, it is not an unforgiveable sin. Jesus Christ went to the cross so that all sinners might be forgiven. Furthermnore, the indwelling Holy Spirit, there for every believer, can heal and deliver.
So however someone became gay, they do not have to stay gay. There is a way out. Christ’s shed blood wipes away the stain of sin and releases believers from the power of sin.
It is do-able. Many men and women have walked away from homosexuality after realising that it was never God’s plan for their lives.
Why are the godless bothered?
Why is anyone who is not a Christian bothered about whether Christians believe homosexual activity is sinful in the eyes of God? To put it another way, why are we ‘dangerous and offensive, as Tim Farron suggests?
I suggest it may be because:
1 They are deeply intolerant of any view but their own,
2 They are totalitarian, wanting to impose their views on others,
3 Maybe they are worried God might exist and be right,
4 They know deep down what they (or homosexuals) are doing is wrong,
5 We challenge and disturb their cosy world,
6 The thought there is one higher than them to whom they are responsible annoys and terrifies them,
7 Because from sodomy being a sin to sodomy being a crime is just one theonomic step away.
Nevertheless, no atheist should be at all concerned that I and however many others think buggery and gross indecency should be re-criminalised and recent laws repealed in this respect. We are a long way from the corridors of power.
The traffic is all in the opposite direction. Children are being taught that sodomy is just great and the Government even want to increase the propaganda level. The Government want people to be able to change their God-given gender at will.
Rubbish chute of history
I, and our wonderful Christian Voice members, are just a voice crying in the wilderness, calling for national repentance, urging Christian to pray, and pointing out that every previous society which has passed this way has gone down the rubbish chute of history.
Moreover, every previous civilisation which allowed its family base to crumble and institutionalised sodomy has been conquered by a stronger, self-confident, monogamous culture.
Now, where would we look for one of those on our doorstep today?

The United Nations meets today in New York to condemn American recognition of Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the state of Israel.
A Resolution has been moved by Muslim Arab states. The President of Turkey has also been highly vocal.
The BBC reports here that the US is likely to be isolated. Moreover, President Trump has threatened to withdraw foreign aid from countries who vote against its position.
Astonishingly, the UK will probably vote with the Muslims, ignoring both scripture and our own history. It was one hundred years ago this month we British liberated Jerusalem from Turkish control. Our article refers.
Hanukkah festival ended yesterday
The eight lamps of the Hanukkah Menorah symbolise the eight days of the purification of the Temple. The ninth is the ‘servant’ lamp.
Also in 1917, in November, the United Kingdom issued the Balfour Declaration. The historic document approved a Jewish homeland in the Holy Land.
Without doubt, the Balfour Declaration paved the way for the modern state of Israel. Nevertheless, the UK spent the best part of the next thirty years trying to back-track from Balfour.
Above all, we did not allow Jewish settlement during the Nazi Holocaust., Moreover, it would be yet another betrayal of the Jewish people if the United Kingdom today voted against recognising a united Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The timing of the Resolution is significant. It comes the day after an important Jewish festival concluded. Here is some history. The Maccabean revolt against the Greeks lasted from 167 to 160 BC. After their victory, the Maccabees entered Jerusalem in triumph and ritually cleansed the Temple.
Even in our day, the Jewish festival of Hanukkah celebrates this event. Furthermore, this year Hanukkah began in the evening of Tuesday, 12th December and ended yesterday evening, on 20th December.
And today the UN is meeting to condemn the USA for recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Prophecy of Jesus fulfilled

Here is a bit more history. Astonishingly, the Romans only took full control of Jerusalem on the death of Herod the Great in 4BC.
The Lord Jesus prophesied of the Judeans:
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
From the time of the Roman occupation, the Holy City stayed under the control of the Gentiles. Christians and Muslims fought over it and the city passed into the hands of the Ottoman Empire in 1617.
General Allenby liberated Jerusalem from the Ottoman Turks in December 1917, as we reported here. But under the terms of the British Mandate, the Holy City stayed under Gentile control. Ben Gurion declared the state of Israel in 1948. In the ensuing war, Jordan occupied the eastern half of Jerusalem. The Jewish people only regained control over the capital as a whole in the Six-Day War of 1967. Was that the fulfillment of the ‘times of the Gentiles’? In any case, the USA recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel one hundred years almost to the day of Allenby’s success over the Turks in December 1917.
No Muslim call on Jerusalem
We do not regard the modern state of Israel as perfect. Moreover, today’s ‘Israel’ is a Judean state. The other ten tribes of Israel never returned after their captivity by Assyria. It could be argued the state of Israel fulfills Zechariah’s prophecy about ‘Judah’s portion’ but not the numerous prophecies about the return of Israel as a whole:
Zech 2:12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
We are also deeply concerned about the position of our brothers and sisters the Arab Christians and their economic well-being.
That being said, the Muslims have no call on Jerusalem at all. The Palestinian claim for Jerusalem as their capital rests on a totally fictitious story concocted by Mohammed. We investigate the ridiculous ‘Night Journey’ in our story here. Any UK support for the Muslim-driven motion today in the UN today will owe more to arms sales than to truth. And we shall be siding with those who hate the Jews and want to destroy the state of Israel itself. That is a perilous position, from a Biblical point of view.
‘Destroy all the nations’
Zecharaiah prophesied a time of turmoil for Jerusalem in his chapters twelve to fourteen. We can ask whether the whole of the passage refers to a future end-time. The references to people’s flesh ‘shall consume away’ in Zech 14:12 looks very like nuclear war.
My heart is to pray this never comes to pass, but acts instead as a warning. And do chapters twelve and thirteen refer to an earlier time, or the same time? Scholars will disagree.

But nevertheless, one verse in particular in chapter twelve indicates the Lord’s heart for a Jewish Jerusalem:
Zech 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Let us make no mistake. This is what today’s motion in the United Nations is doing. It is the nations coming against Jerusalem. We can only thank God they are doing it politically rather than militarily. Accordingly, for that, if for nothing else, we do thank God for the United Nations.
But even more do we thank God for the United States of America. In the recent past, over the position of our Christian brethren in Syria, we have thanked God for the Russians. But today, that nation will probably be against Jerusalem as well. But it really looks as if the UK will be on the wrong side both times and in danger of incurring the wrath of God.
Pray for Jerusalem
Let us pray the US will stand firm and that many nations will vote against today’s UN Resolution. Pray fervently the UK will be found in the pro-Jewish camp. You can email your MP via the Parliament link here.

There is everything to pray for as her majesty’s ministers meet today and tomorrow to discuss what kind of Brexit they will propose to the European Union as negotiations move onto the UK’s trading relationship with the EU.
The BBC’s Norman Smith says some ministers, ‘like Chancellor Philip Hammond and Home Secretary Amber Rudd’ want the UK to stick closely to the EU’s single market to preserve access for British firms.
Others, he says, ‘like Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Michael Gove’, want ‘more divergence so the UK has more freedom to strike its own trade deals with other countries’.
The United Kingdom is ripe for judgment. Indeed, the judgment is falling. We are becoming more secularist, more crass, less respectful, more immoral, more acquisitive and more brutal almost week by week, as our weekly news round-up shows. The prophet said:
Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
We should pray fervently for the Lord to grant national repentance in his mercy. Much of our society is in a state of disorder. British troops are still unnecessarily deployed abroad. We must also pray for peace:
Jer 29:7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
The Hebrew word ‘shalom’ also includes prosperity. Ours is historically a trading nation. Much of our economy depends on trade overseas. Which Brexit outcome will best help the sort of trade which assists peace and prosperity? What should we pray for?

The arch-remoaners want the UK to stay in the EU. According to the Independent, Former Prime Minister Tony Blair says Labour should even prioritise stopping Brexit ahead of winning the next election.
Early last year, I made a video record of my travels around three European capitals. I came to the conclusion the European Union was deliberately conceived as a revived Roman Empire.
That means it is at war with Christ:

To have any chance of being on the right side in that battle, the Government must honour last year’s referendum result. We can see the June 2016 result as an answer to prayer.
Pro-Brexit: Suella Fernandes MP
However, so is the presence of Brexiteers (albeit of the closet variety) at the top of today’s Labour Party. Mr Blair’s calls will by the grace of God fall on deaf ears.
In another column in the Indy, Conservative MP Suella Fernandes remembers how much Tony Blair destroyed confidence in politics. We well remember the Iraq incursion.
But the MP also accuses Mr Blair of failing to give the British people a say on the EU’s proposed constitution. She says: ‘The electorate’s and Parliament’s clear will is to leave the EU. Reversing that now would be deeply divisive, fundamentally undemocratic and destroy the trust of the British people who now just want the government to get on with delivering Brexit.’
Remainers to be coordinated

And yet the Guardian reported over the weekend: ‘One of Britain’s most senior former diplomats, Lord Malloch-Brown, is to take a lead role in coordinating the pro-remain groups towards a more coherent campaign focused on shifting public opinion before MPs hold a “meaningful vote” next autumn on Theresa May’s Brexit deal.’
Lord Malloch-Brown is trying to coordinate his own Best for Britain, Open Britain and the European Movement. If they cannot actually reverse the Brexit decision, the groups will try to force a ‘soft Brexit.’ This would keep Britain in the Single Market and Customs Union.
But Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says such an option would leave the UK as a ‘vassal state’ of the EU. We should be beholden to the bloc for our trade rules, unable to trade freely outside, but have no say in EU policy.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Mr Johnson said any deal must give Britain ‘that important freedom to decide our own regulatory framework, our own laws and do things in a distinctive way’.
He said if the UK was forced to mirror EU laws, many people ‘would say, “What is the point of what you have achieved?” because we would have gone from a member state to a vassal state.’
No Deal, Canada or Norway?
At the opposite end is the ‘no deal’ scenario, in which Britain leaves the EU with no agreement. The UK would rely on World Trade Organisation tariffs to trade with firms in the EU and elsewhere. We should also be totally free to strike trade deals around the world. But 25% of our financial services depend on EU trade. A last-minute collapse in negotiations would be the proverbial ‘cliff-edge’. No-one would be prepared.
Norway has an agreement with the EU which gives it membership of the European Economic Area, the EEA. This gives the country full access to the EU’s Single Maket. Fullfact.org said in August 2016 Norway was then paying the EU around £740 million compared to the UK’s £14,000 million a year to be a full member. They said ‘This translates to £140 per Norwegian, compared to £220 per Brit.’
A ‘Norway’ agreement would ensure virtually seamless trade with the EU. Nevertheless, it would be expensive and would constrain the UK in negotiating abroad. And Mrs May has ruled out staying in the Single Market.
Theresa May and David Davis appear to favour instead the ‘Canada’ model with additions. This is called ‘Canada-plus’ or even ‘plus-plus-plus’.
Negotiate free trade agreements
City AM says this: ‘Under this option, the UK would enter into a free trade agreement in goods with the EU along the lines of the agreement just concluded between the EU and Canada.
‘In addition, free trade in services and possibly in agriculture would ideally be agreed to as an add-on. At the same time, pursuing its broader Drakean strategy, the UK would negotiate free trade agreements with other, more economically vibrant, partners such as China, the US and India.’
But firstly, the EU insists free trade in services must be linked to freedom of movement of people. Secondly, ‘Canada-plus’ would take more time to negotiate than the fifteen months the two sides have left.

From this scripture, it says slowing down the Brexit process was smart, but it is now to get on with negotiations.
Wisdom comes from the fear of the Lord
But another scripture now comes into play:
Prov 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
For prayer, our first objective must be for the Lord to safeguard the principle of Brexit. The spiritual dimension is vital. It says the UK cannot safely stay in a revived Roman Empire. Moving on from that, our prayer is for Her Majesty’s Government to seek a level of wisdom which only comes from the Lord himself. Which trade model will really be best for Britain? We will all have our own ideas. We cry to the Lord to have mercy, because unexpected things can happen:
Eccl 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
Pray the Lord will at some stage make us stand, look up, and say: ‘How did you do that?’

On 7th December 2017, the United States of America recognised Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel.
Donald Trump announced the move the day before. The US president said: ‘I’ve judged this course of action to be in the best interests of the United States of America and the pursuit of peace between Israel and the Palestinians.’
Moreover, he said he was directing the US state department to begin preparations to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The BBC points out the decision fulfils a promise made by Mr Trump in his presidential campaign.
Recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital was, firstly, ‘nothing more or less than a recognition of reality’, said the president. He added, secondly: ‘It is also the right thing to do.’
Israel ‘profoundly grateful’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was profoundly grateful to Mr Trump, who had ‘bound himself forever with the history of the capital’.
He also said Israel was ‘in touch with other countries to follow suit’. He did not name any of these countries, although the Philippines and the Czech Republic have been mentioned in Israeli media.
Reaction from Muslim Arab countries has been less enthusiastic. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Mr Trump he was ‘throwing the region into a ring of fire.’ The BBC reports that Saudi Arabia, another armaments customer of the US, described the move as ‘unjustified and irresponsible’.
Eight of the 15 members of the United Nations Security Council called for a briefing on the US president’s decision. They included permanent council members France and the UK. The Arab League will meet in the coming days to decide its response.
‘Day of Rage’ over Jerusalem recognition

In the Holy Land itself, the Islamist Hamas terrorist group dominates the Gaza Strip. Its ruling Charter calls for the destruction of the state of Israel. Its leader, Ismail Haniya, called inevitably for a ‘day of rage’ the following Friday. He said it should ‘be the first day of the intifada against the occupier’, meaning Israel.
In the so-called ‘West Bank’, Fatah is the largest faction in the multi-party Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It is filing a complaint to the UN Security Council and pushing for a strong stance by the Arab League.
‘We are going to declare the United States disqualified as co-sponsor of any peace process or political process,’ said spokesman Dr Nasser Al-Kidwa. ‘In our mind, it has lost its ability to do or perform any efforts in this regard.’
Fatah have also cancelled a meeting with US Vice-President Mike Pence. Jibril Rajoub, a senior official in Mr Abbas’ Fatah party, said Mr Pence was ‘not welcome’ in the Palestinian territories. The meeting ‘would not take place’, he added.
Jerusalem ‘sacred’ to Muslims
The mainstream media describes Jerusalem as ‘holy’ to those of three faiths. These are Jews, Muslims and Christians. But Christians are not seeking Jerusalem as their capital. Jews do, obviously, and Muslims want East Jerusalem as the capital of a Muslim Palestinian state.
The city is sacred to Muslims because they believe Mohammed visited it. According to CBN News, ‘Muslim tradition says the prophet Mohammed traveled to the Al-Aqsa Mosque on his famous night journey’. It goes on: ‘that tradition is the basis for the Palestinians’ claim to Jerusalem.’
The Al-Aqsa Mosque was built in 705 AD over the Church of St Mary on the wall of the Temple Mount. It is not to be confused with the Dome of the Rock. Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan built the latter between AD 685 and 691. It was intended, not as a mosque for public worship but rather as a shrine for pilgrims.
Mohammed was never in Jerusalem
Muslims believe the miraculous steed, the Buraq, took Muhammad to visit ‘the Farthest Mosque’. Many Muslims believe that is Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. They believe he prayed there and was taken to the heavens. This all happened in a single night in the year 620 AD. This event is known as Al-Isra’ wal-Mi‘raj or ‘The Night-Journey and the Ascension’ in Islamic tradition.
Mohammed even wrote the alleged incident into the Quran, in Surah 17. ‘Isra, The Night Journey’: ‘1. Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things).’
From Mecca to Jerusalem is a distance of some 920 miles. It would take a month by camel. Mohammed claimed he went to a city with no mosque and visited its mosque. He claims he flew. Even his cousin Umm told him not to brag about the imagined event ‘for they will know you are lying and will mock you.’ His favourite wife Aisha did not believe the preposterous story either. The result is Muslims claim Jerusalem as the Islamic city of Al-Quds on no evidence except the fraudulent witness of Mohammed and his Quran.
Jerusalem liberated 100 years ago
But it is the timing of President Trump’s announcement which is astonishing. One hundred years ago, on 8th December 1917, the Mohammedan army of the failing Ottoman Empire still occupied Jerusalem. The Holy City was surrounded by British and Empire forces under the command of General Allenby. The inspired General left the Turks a northern escape route.
Now the Prophet Isaiah knew nothing of aircraft, but that is how Edmund Allenby interpreted his prophecy, read by the Chaplain, by the grace of God, at morning prayer on 8th December 1917:
Isa 31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; passing over he will preserve it.
General Allenby fulfilled that prophecy by using dozens of planes to drop propaganda into the city, scaring the Ottoman Turks into withdrawal.
But Isaiah’s prophecy was to have another fulfillment, The Ottoman army retreated to a nearby hill and prepared to shell the town. Again, Allenby called up British aircraft. They bombed the Turkish positions with accuracy, defending their newly-captured city. See more here.
General Allenby’s humility

That is not quite the whole story. Allenby had already showed his respect for the Holy City by refusing to fire a single shell into it while the Turks were still in control.
It was respect for God himself that motivated Edmund Allenby to dismount. In the Cambridge History of the First World War: Volume 3, edited by Jay Winter, we read the truth behind the ‘ostentatious humility’ of General Allenby:
‘Allenby walked into the Old City, in deliberate contrast to Kaiser Wilhelm who had ridden a white horse in triumph into the city before the war.’ Wilhelm rode his charger into Jerusalem in 1898, trying to forge closer ties with the Ottoman Empire against England, France and Russia.
Winter goes on: ‘Allenby let it be known that he would have been ashamed to ride a horse along the route that his Saviour had ridden on an ass. It is perfectly plausible that this was a genuine sentiment. It was also brilliant propaganda.’
Haggai’s prophecy
The date of the liberation of Jerusalem was 24th of Kislev. Kislev is the ninth month in the Jewish year. Centuries earlier the prophet Haggai promised a shaking of the nations and prosperity to Israel. The promise came as a reward for Zerubbabel’s faithfulness in rebuilding the Temple of the LORD:
Hag 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you. Hag 2:20 And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying, 21 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; 22 And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. Hag 2:23 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
By the grace of God, that reading was scheduled in the Christian Voice Lamplight Bible Reading plan for yesterday.
Zechariah’s Prophecy
In early December, the Christian Voice ‘Lamplight’ Bible Reading Plan set this word:
Zech 2:7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. 8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. 9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. Zech 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. 11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. Zech 2:12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. 13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
The United States has led the world in following the Lord’s desire to ‘choose Jerusalem again’, within days of that reading. Above all, the US action was within days of the Liberation centenary. And is it not appropriate that Zechariah singled out ‘Judah’ for a portion in the holy land, rather than all Israel? The latter were scattered across Europe following their captivity by Assyria. Clearly only Judah with some of Benjamin and Levi returned from Babylon.
A strange Jewish mystic
But the American decision and its timing grows ever more strange. This ministry is not known for consulting prophecy charts and gazing heavenward. However, a twelfth-century rabbi made the most extraordinary prediction.
Yehuda Ben Samuel, known as Yehuda the Hassid (1150-1217) lived and worked in Germany. He was consulted by the Bishop of Salzburg and the Duke of Regensburg.
Yehuda ben Samuel wrote in the 12th Cenury
Ludwig Schneider of Israel Today magazine has translated some of his work into English. From these writings, we learn of a specific prophecy concerning the Holy Land.
WorldNet Daily writes: ‘Following the Christian crusades to the Holy Land, between 1096-1270, a regular correspondence developed between the Jews in the Holy Land and the Christian West. Thus, for example, the rabbis in Worms and Regensburg in Germany knew that Saladin’s Ayyubids had been ruling in the Holy Land since 1187.
‘At this time, Judah Ben Samuel published the results of his biblical calculations (Gematria) and astrological observations and summarized as follows: “When the Ottomans (Turks) – who were already a power to be reckoned with on the Bosporus in the time of Judah Ben Samuel – conquer Jerusalem they will rule over Jerusalem for eight jubilees. Afterwards Jerusalem will become no-man’s land for one jubilee, and then in the ninth jubilee it will once again come back into the possession of the Jewish nation – which would signify the beginning of the Messianic end time.”
The Tenth Jubilee
‘One jubilee is 50 years (Leviticus 25). It is the 50th year after seven times seven years, the year in which each person should regain ownership of his or her land. Ben Samuel’s calculations were purely theoretical; there was absolutely no sign at that time of their being fulfilled. He himself was not able to experience their fulfillment, for it was only 300 years after his death that the first of his predictions were to come true.’
We know the Mamluks had been reigning in Jerusalem since 1250. It is certainly uncanny that firstly, the Ottoman Turks conquered them in 1517. That was exactly 500 years ago. Secondly, the Turks remained for eight jubilees (8 x 50 = 400 years). They occupied Jerusalem for 400 years precisely as Ben Samuel prophesied. Thirdly, as we saw above, General Allenby drove the Turks out of Jerusalem in 1917.
Thus commenced Ben Samuel’s ‘no-man’s land’, especially as the United Nations granted the British their ‘Mandate’ shortly after. When Israel re-captured Jerusalem in the Six Day War of 1967, exactly one jubilee (50 years) after 1917, Jerusalem reverted to Jewish-Israeli ownership once again.
After that, according to the prophecies of Yehuda Ben Samuel, the Messianic End Times began. We do not know what he meant by that. More than one commentator has suggested something dramatic would happen in 2017. Well, with the year drawing to a close, something most certainly has.
The Bible is our standard, and we stand amazed by God’s doings in the Holy Land. Nevertheless, it is worth acknowledging the man who in the Twelfth Century saw it all coming.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem
We continue to be as concerned for the Palestinian Christians as for the security of the state of Israel. They face hardship from Israeli sanctions and suspicion and worse from their Arab neighbours.
But we have little patience for Muslims whose claim to Jerusalem rests on a lie and who desire the complete destruction of the Jews and the Israeli state.
A ‘two-state solution’, the dream of an independent Palestinian state living peacefully alongside Israel, looks dead now. It would never occur along ‘pre-1967 boundaries’ as the received wisdom demands. But that must never stop us praying for our Christian brothers and sisters, for Israel and for Jerusalem. Hubert Parry set this Psalm for Her Majesty the Queen’s Coronation on 2nd June 1953:
Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
It is our prayer today.

Arlene Foster and the DUP have kept Theresa May honest over Brexit
The Democratic Unionist Party have prevented a disastrous customs split in the United Kingdom. The Northern Ireland party sent Britain’s Brexit negotiating team back to the drawing board. The Cabinet have now to offer a solution to the EU side.
Alternatively, they must admit having a soft border with the Republic of Ireland is impossible.
Moreover, a solution has to be found before the end of this week, or ‘No Deal’ could be on the table. The situation urgently needs our prayers.
But we must not forget prayers of thanksgiving for the DUP. Also, ask God to continue to be merciful as the UK leaves the EU.
Scotland and London leaders saw an opportunity
Theresa May had suggested a ‘continued regulatory alignment’ a between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland., effectively keeping Ulster in the single market and customs union.
The news was seized upon by Scotland’s first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who demanded any promise for Northern Ireland be replicated for Scotland. That call was followed by a similar suggestion from the London mayor, Sadiq Khan.
But it was all shut down by Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Arlene Foster who said ‘any form of regulatory divergence’ between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland would be unacceptable.
Mrs Foster revealed she had been asking the government for the wording of text relating to the Irish border for five weeks. She said it was a ‘big shock’ when the document landed on Monday morning because ‘we realised there was no way we could sign up to that text’.
UK’s ‘economic and constitutional integrity’
Speaking at Stormont, she said:‘We have been very clear. Northern Ireland must leave the EU on the same terms as the rest of the United Kingdom. We will not accept any form of regulatory divergence which separates Northern Ireland economically or politically from the rest of the United Kingdom. The economic and constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom will not be compromised in any way,’ she said.
Nigel Dodds MP, deputy of the DUP, said the Republic of Ireland had advanced its interests in an ‘aggressive and anti-unionist way’, and had ‘set back Anglo-Irish relations and damaged the relationships built up within Northern Ireland in terms of the devolution settlement, and that is going to take a long time to repair’.
Mrs May promised to leave Single Market
Theresa May set out her vision in January for the UK departure of the European Union. During the speech, she said Britain will be leaving the EU’s customs union and single market. The DUP have kept her honest to that position. The word of God says:
Numbers 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
Just imagine what could have happened had the Conservatives been returned with an overall majority at the last general election. That they only hold power now only with the support of the DUP is itself an answer to prayer. And for that, we should thank God.
Brexiteer Iain Duncan Smith MP told the Guardian: ‘The Prime Minister is fully aware that when it comes to the border issue Northern Ireland remains an integral part of the UK and therefore there cannot be any regulatory divergence between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.’
Brexit could happen with ‘No Deal’
Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the EU, Labour’s Keir Starmer, a noted ‘Remoaner’, encouraged the Prime Minister to ‘rethink her reckless red lines’ and consider putting customs union and single market back on the table for Brexit negotiations.
But Brexit Secretary David Davis pledged that no part of the UK will be ‘left behind’ in the EU single market. In our prayers we must remember men are fallible and hold him to that:
Psalm 118:9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Mrs May has less than two days now to salvage a Brexit deal to open trade talks before the end of the year. If the Prime Minister does not secure a deal by tomorrow, Friday, it will stand little chance of being confirmed at the EU Council meeting held 14th – 15th December.
The UK would have to wait until March for the next time the 27 other EU countries will come together for a summit. However, Mr Duncan Smith has suggested it might be impossible to secure a deal at all. ‘No deal’, where the EU and UK are unable to agree on Brexit terms could be the only outcome. But the word of God tells us to look to him for provision:
Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
World Trade Organisation rules
In such a case, UK companies would trade with the EU on World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules. That would affect both imports and exports. It is a two-way process. Click here for the Tariffs table, then click ‘European Union’ and whatever product you are interested in. Then click ‘Next’ and download whichever format works best for you.
In reality, WTO tariffs are generally at 2%. Nevertheless, aircraft, identified by Business Insider as our biggest export to the EU, attract a tariff of 2.7%. Pharmaceuticals, another large export, are free of any import tax. Motor vehicles are taxed at 10%. But the European Automobile Manufacturers Association says exports of cars from the UK to the EU are dwarfed by imports.
The EAMA say: ‘80% of the UK’s automobile production is exported, of which 52.8% (worth 14.6 billion) goes to EU member states. The other way round, the EU represents 81% of the UK’s motor vehicle import volume, worth 44.7 billion.’
World trade is not new
For millennia, the British Isles, like the whole world, have engaged in trade. Over two-and-a-half thousand years ago the prophet Ezekiel lists all the merchandise arriving in the Mediterranean port of Tyre. For example:
Ezek 27:12 Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs. … 15 The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.
World trade is not new. Today, the EU exports overall more to the UK than we export to them, and there is a wide world outside the shrinking EU. Let us remember that in our prayers. But our major prayer point is for the entire United Kingdom to leave the EU completely. That is what the people voted for.
Revived Roman Empire
And there is a spiritual dimension. Our series of videos last year revealed the EU was deliberately designed as a revived Roman Empire.
If that is correct, the Bible says, of such a political entity:

The European Union’s parliament tower in Strasbourg was structured to resemble the unfinished Tower of Babel. Representations of a woman riding a beast are all over the EU. And both the original Treaty of Rome and the doomed EU Constitution were signed on top of Rome’s equivalent of Satan’s Seat. If this is not John’s spiritual Babylon, it is doing a good job of presenting itself like that. It follows the UK must not have any part in it. Our leaders must instead return to the Lord in repentance:
2Sam 23:3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
Meanwhile, reports are saying the UK would pay around £50billion in a so-called ‘divorce bill’. The claim emerged from the EU side just a week after Theresa May officially signalled she was willing to up Britain’s offer to £38billion to get talks moving.
The UK has agreed it must take a share in the EU’s liabilities. These will total after Brexit as much as 98billion (£87billion), the Financial Times reported. But that gross figure will reportedly amount to a net payout of around half that because some of the claims on the European budget will never actually come to pass. Payouts will continue for several decades because they include pensions payouts to civil servants who will still be claiming cash in 50 years or more, according to reports.
Brexiteers and Remainers both slammed the huge bill. Nigel Farage said it was a ‘sellout’, adding: ‘Make no mistake about it – 55billion to leave the EU is a very, very bad deal.’
Pro-EU Labour MP Chuka Umunna said: ‘Boris, Gove and other Leave campaigners never said there would be a big divorce bill to pay – quite the opposite.’
Not a ‘divorce bill’
But Daniel Hannan, Conservative MEP, said the money is not a ‘divorce bill’. The Bible says:
Eccl 5:4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
Mr Hannan went on, ‘Britain is not the kind of country that walks away from its debts. Those debts will fall gradually, according to the European Commission, over the next 40 years. We’d be paying the equivalent of a billion pounds a year, rather than the £17billion (gross) or £9billion (net) that we’re paying now.
‘Remember the EU 27 will still be our customers as well as our allies. We want them to be rich so they keep buying our stuff, investing in Britain and coming here as tourists.’
The MEP went on: ‘Sure, we could refuse to pay. We could go to an international tribunal, which might reduce the overall sum we owe. But that would destroy any chance of a friendly deal with the EU, which would leave all sides worse off. Better by far to approach the question of how to phase out our payments in a friendly spirit.
‘At the end of this process, we should aim to have a close, mutually profitable relationship with the EU, involving not just free trade, but also continued co-operation on intelligence, police co-operation, scientific research and the like. Only now we’d be doing these things as an independent country, not as an EU province.
‘The big-ticket items, though, will be cancelled. No more Common Agricultural Policy. No more Cohesion Funds. And no more EU foreign aid racket.’
A radical solution to the ‘Irish question’

They have now passed the stage of being a recipient nation. They are now starting to contribute. Financially, the EU is not benefitting Ireland any more. Most of their trade is with the UK. Year-old blog post
The Very Reverend Kelvin Holdsworth wrote a blog post last year urging people to pray Prince George ‘to be blessed one day with the love of a fine young gentleman.’ Mr Holdsworth is provost of St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow. He is from the Scottish Episcopal Church, which voted to allow gay couples to gay-marry earlier this year. The BBC reported the story here.

In his blog post, Mr Holdsworth said that if Prince William’s four-year-old son married another man in the future it would help the Church of England become more inclusive.

(Which is a strange comment from one who hijacked it in the first place by retweeting a year-old post to make a pro-sodomy political point at the expense of Prince George off the back of Harry and Meghan’s forthcoming wedding.)
‘Unkind and destructive’
Gavin Ashenden, a former chaplain to the Queen and a Christian Episcopal Church missionary bishop, said the comments were not Christian.
‘To use prayer as a mechanism for wishing this on Prince George is an unkind and destructive thing to do,’ he told the BBC. It doesn’t have the prince’s best interests at heart, but uses him as a gender-political football to please 1.7% of the population.
‘What is especially odd and incongruous is the fact that it is suddenly OK to pray for someone to be gay, but totally unacceptable to pray for them to be free from being gay and to resume a sexuality that was in tune with their biology.
‘This seems not only contradictory but hypocritical.’
According to the Independent, Mr Ashenden told Christian Today: ‘It is an unkind and destabilising prayer. It is the theological equivalent of the curse of the wicked fairy in one of the fairy tales.
‘To co-opt the Royal children to service a narrow sexual agenda seems particularly tasteless.’
Bishop less than impressed
Susie Leafe, the director of the conservative evangelical group Reform, was also critical of Mr Holdsworth’s blog about Prince George. ‘I was very disappointed that he was prepared to bring a child in to this same-sex marriage debate,’ she told the BBC.
‘As a Christian minister he should pray for all people to come to know the love of Christ, rather than a fine young gentleman.’
Rt Rev Dr Gregor Duncan, Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway, indicated he was not at all pleased. He said: ‘The comments made by Provost Holdsworth were made on his personal blog.
‘As his blog indicates, the views expressed there are his personal ones.
‘They do not represent an official view of the Scottish Episcopal Church nor are they ones with which I would concur. I will be discussing this matter with Provost Holdsworth.’
Reality of homosexuality

Gay activists maintain, contrary to the scientific evidence, that people are ‘born gay.’ They say it is impossible to change sexuality. If they are right, it is already determined whether Prince George is ‘straight’ or ‘gay’. The renegade provost would be praying for something which has already happened – or rather, not happened.
Some of us will acknowledge one can pray after the event, not knowing the outcome. The theology of that says the Lord knows we shall pray before we actually do, and he plainly has the capacity to change events according to the imminent prayer.
But the reality is that a combination of factors come into play in human development. As children grow up, many factors influence their young lives. Mothers have a role in leading their children to grow up normally.
It is especially important for fathers to affirm their sons in their maleness and their daughters in their femininity. Parents must also ‘recruit-proof’ their children by safeguarding them from predatory males – and some females – in the outside world.
Parents should also be on their guard for materials in school sex education designed to groom children into acceptance of homosexuality. The campaigning book ‘King and king’ is particularly pertinent here.
Identification with the aggressor
Tragically, many boys who would have grown up normally ended up in children’s homes in the recent past. There, firstly, pederast homosexuals got hold of them. Secondly, the boys identified with the aggressor. Look up ‘Stockholm Syndrome’. Thirdly, they grew up homosexual themselves, with the desire to repeat the pattern.
The inbuilt self-limitation of homosexuality is why gay men in particular have so many sexual partners. They are searching for affirmative maleness, but now sexualising it. They become involved in increasingly depraved sexual practice as they become immersed in the network. And, sorry Provost, but homosexual life is filled with more dirty boys than ‘fine young gentlemen’. That’s just the way it is. They are looking for what does not exist, a real man who will love a homosexual. And they are pressing a part of the anatomy perfectly designed for the extraction of water from bodily waste into a use our gracious Maker never intended.
Ex-gays in Corinth
But the good news is however anyone became gay they do not have to stay gay. Jesus Christ saves the lost, forgives their sin and transforms their lives. Christ can heal the underlying pathologies which arrested normal development. People, men and women, have walked away from the homosexual life and homosexual desires. Scripture says:
1Cor 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Yes, there were ex-gays in the Corinthian church. But they were washed clean, sanctified and justified by the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus. Recognise also that the practice and thoughts of homosexuality can lay a person open to spiritual oppression. For some, healing may not be enough. Deliverance could be in order.
Prayer Warfare
Christian Voice members know how seldom we comment on matters to do with the church. As in ‘Never’. There are enough targets for prayer in government, commerce and the judiciary. So we shall not cast more aspersions than we have on Provost Holdsworth. The Lord knows his eternal destiny. Those leaving comments please respect this position as well. But firstly, his subject-matter has allowed us to set out the context. Secondly, we urgently need to invite the Lord’s people into a campaign of prayer warfare over this issue. Thirdly, we have been able to praise Rev Gavin Ashenden and the Bishop of Glasgow. They have made clear a prayer such as that of the Provost has no place in the Christian faith.
We should be comforted by these scriptures, from the book of Proverbs:
Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. … 29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. Prov 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Prov 26:2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
Pushing at a open door
Equally, the Provost’s prayer, even as a wicked incantation, has undoubtedly set in motion something evil in the spiritual realm. However, in countering it, let us realise we are pushing at an open door. Twice in the last century the Lord took a bad man out of the way and placed a man of God upon the throne of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Both King George V and King George VI had elder brothers quite unsuited to leading this United Kingdom through a time of war. God took Prince Albert by pneumonia. Edward VIII renounced the throne for the love of divorced Mrs Wallis Simpson.
Moreover, very recently, the wedding of William and Kate set the Parliamentary feminists in a spin. What if their first-born was a girl and a son came second? He would take precedence over her under the ancient rules of primogeniture. That, said the feminists, was unfair. Nick Clegg MP, the Deputy Prime Minister, introduced a ‘Succession to the Crown’ Bill. It changed the rule that the eldest son of a monarch would succeed to the throne. The Bill became an Act of Parliament on 25th April 2013. From that date, the eldest royal child would be next in line, male or female.
Hand of God on Prince George
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Look how intently the Duke is looking at Prince George. There will be no bad influences in this family, in Jesus’s name.
And then, to confound them all, the Duchess of Cambridge, as she had become, gave birth to a boy. To the dismay of the feminists, the nation welcomed George not Georgina.
So we believe the hand of God is already on this princely child. The Lord will ensure George grows up normally. There will be no undue influences upon him.
God knows parents are raising all children today against a background of pro-sodomy state dogma.
Nevertheless, pray the Lord will safeguard George as his father affirms his masculinity in his formative years.
Prince George will progress into true manhood, in Jesus’s name.

Prominent UK Brexiteer Nigel Farage has condemned financier George Soros using MEPs to advance his own agenda during a speech in the EU Parliament, according to RT.
Hungarian leader Viktor Orban previously bore the anti-Soros torch. Soros himself is Hungarian and Jewish. But the wealthy financier fiercly opposes the State of Israel. Mr Farage is going one step further than Mr Orban. He seeks to investigate fellow EU MEPs who support the globalist anti-Christian vision of Soros.
MP’s in league with Soros’s Open Society

In a speech in Strasbourg last week, Mr Farage took aim at UK MP Ben Bradshaw (Labour). The latter was indecently quick to pick up on allegations of collusion between the Brexit Leave campaign and Russia.
‘Just last week, the electoral commission, in the UK, launched an investigation to find out whether the “Leave” campaign took offshore money or Russian money,’ Farage said.
‘This came about as a result of questions asked in the House of Commons by one Ben Bradshaw, somebody linked to an organization called Open Society.’
Mr Bradshaw’s entry in the register of parliamentary interests reveals a reference to the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung organisation. This is linked to Open Society. Mr Bradshaw also mentions Humboldt University, also receiving Soros money. Mr Bradshaw is not the only one. Open Society paid for a £2,713 trip to Washington USA for his colleague David Lammy in September this year. Liberal Democrat Nick Clegg secured a £21,000 grant for a favourite charity from Open Society Institute. This article carries more on on ‘the Soros web’.

Mr Farage went on to provide an example of an EU parliamentarian working on behalf of George Soros. This time it was against Hungarian PM Viktor Orban. Mr Orban has accused the financier of seeking to create ‘a Europe of mixed population.’ And Mr Farage had the chief anti-Brexit coordinator for the European Parliament in his sights:
‘We even had last week Mr. [Guy] Verhofstadt lobbying on behalf of Mr. Soros at the Conference of Presidents in a battle that is going on with Viktor Orban, the prime minister of Hungary,’ Mr Farage said, pointing directly at Verhofstadt as he spoke.
‘I wonder, Mr Farage continued, ‘when we are talking about “political collusion,” I wonder if we are looking in the wrong place.’
Nigel Farage described Soros’s influence in Strasbourg and Brussels as ‘truly extraordinary.’ And his influence will only increase. Soros has donated the bulk of his wealth – $18 billion – into his pet Open Society project.
Mr Farage concluded his short, fiery monologue with a weighty statement: ‘I fear we could be looking at the biggest level of international, political collusion in history.’

Open Society Institute and Open Society Foundation campaigns for open borders and supranational structures. It is all for the Revived Roman Empire of the European Union. Working with local agitators, its activists destablised both Syria and Ukraine.
This led directly to civil war, loss of life and destruction of property and livelihoods in both. The Syria crisis led to a flood of refugees across Europe. This was in part because Soros agents were flooding the country and local refugee camps with leaflets explaining how to be granted asylum in EU countries.
Soros behind Merkel ‘Wilkommen’ policy
RT observes: ‘Thanks to the advocacy work of the Migration Policy Institute and the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM), both Soros-sponsored organizations, the mass resettlement of Muslims from the Middle East and North Africa into Europe became the norm.’

And then Soros had his tame parliamentarians agitating for the fullest possible welcome to migrants. He knows the bulk of them are Muslim. In addition, he knows their attitudes are inimical to Western Christian culture and democracy. Moreover, he is aware that some were sleeper terrorists. Soros organisations are said to have encouraged Angela Merkel’s ‘Willkommen’ plan. The financier subsequently blamed her for implementing it too quickly. But elsewhere, Soros argued for 500,000 migrants to come to the EU a year.
Moreover, Soros organizations published a 177-page booklet providing details of 226 reliable ‘friends’ who serve in the European Parliament. soroskooptbrussel Mr Farage said he would call on the parliament to set up a special committee to investigate the issue. The booklet is called ‘Mapping: Reliable Allies in the European Parliament (2014-2019).’ It is an extraordinary display of arrogance which has revealed the entire Soros EU Parliament network:

According to the booklet, ‘The presence of an MEP in this mapping indicates that they are likely to support Open Society’s work.’ There are 751 members of the European Parliament. ‘Reliable allies’ of George Soros hold at least one-third of seats.
Firstly, the book details which supportive MEPs serve on which EU committee. Secondly, it lists each of the 226 MEP’s according to country. Thirdly, it labels and analyses them according to their political orientation and views. For example, the booklet describes Conservative MEP Charles Tannock both as ‘moderately Eurosceptic, but a potentially strong Open Society ally.’ His colleagues Timothy Kirkhope, Karim Sajjad, Kay Swinburne and Anthea McIntyre are all ‘moderately Eurosceptic, but a potential Open Society ally.’
Labour’s Claude Moraes ‘may appear easy to win over, but will require extensive engagement to ensure commitments are followed up effectively.’ His colleague Linda McAvan is apparently interested in ‘climate and the environment; public health; pharmaceuticals; gender equality; international trade; international development; and relations with African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.’
Agitating in Africa
Ms McAvan serves on the EU Delegation to African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP). She sits alongside fellow UK MEP’s Seb Dance (Labour) and Catherine Bearder. Ms Bearder is the only remaining Liberal Democrat in the European Parliament.. All are strongly pro-sodomy, indeed Seb Dance, like Ben Bradshaw, is openly homosexual.
Their presence on the ACP committee will suit Open Society very well. In addition to campaigning for unrestricted migration and world empires Soros organisations also promote gay rights around the globe. They have a particular emphasis on overturning anti-sodomy laws in African countries. Very few African nations do not unwittingly have a subversive Open Society office in their capital city.
Anti-Russian
Yana Toom MEP. The Russian-speaking Estonian ‘may be pro-Russian’. And for George Soros, that would never do.
But then, most of the 226 Soros MEP puppets will support LGBTI, the EU project and open borders. However, an anti-Russia stance also helps inclusion in the list. One MEP, Estonia’s Yana Toom, is strangely included despite this damning verdict: ‘Refused supporting the European Parliament’s first resolution on the Ukraine-Russia conflict in July 2014, and may be pro-Russia to an unknown extent (and, in that case, not necessarily an Open Society ally).’.
RT says: ‘For anyone who questions whether Open Society works directly against Russian interests, that single line should dispel all doubts. Moreover, it provides some background as to why Russia in 2015 banned Open Society from operating on its territory due to the threat it posed to the country’s “constitutional order.”‘ African and Caribbean countries would do well to follow Russia’s lead.

Eighteen billion dollars is a lot of money with which to promote the destruction of borders and Christian morality. And all we have is prayer, the word of God and the Holy Spirit. But on reflection, that should be enough:

Australia has voted overwhelmingly in favour of legalising same-sex marriage, reports the BBC.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics said 61.6% of people were in favour allowing same-sex couples to counterfeit marriage. 79.5% of voters took part in the non-binding postal vote.
Jubilant supporters celebrated in public spaces, waving rainbow flags and singing and dancing.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said his government would aim to pass legislation in parliament by Christmas.
‘[Australians] have spoken in their millions and they have voted overwhelmingly yes for marriage equality,’ Mr Turnbull said after the result was announced.
‘They voted yes for fairness, yes for commitment, yes for love.’
God’s first social institution
The word of God describes marriage as God’s first social institution:
‘Vote No’ campaigners stressed the family
Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Moreover, those words were reinforced by the Lord Jesus himself:
Mark10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
Becoming ‘one flesh’ in the full emotional, spiritual and physical sense is something a pair of gays, or two women, cannot do. A pair of homosexuals can never engage in the defining act of marriage. So they engage in a variety of confected quasi-sexual activities, all of which are condemned in scripture:
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
So, despite what Mr Turnbull says, homosexals won’t have equality or fairness. Nature itself is against them. It won’t be committment, because their relationships are inherently transient. As for love, people – brothers, a father and son, comrades in arms – can love each other without feeling the need to press the part of the body perfectly designed for the extraction of water from bodily waste into a use our gracious Maker never intended.
How gender is taught in schools
Felix Ngole was expelled for calling gay ‘marriage’ a sin on Facebook and an English court upheld it.
Australia’s No campaign put the focus on the definition of family. They also raised concerns about how issues like gender will be taught in schools.
Their concerns are well founded. England and Wales allowed homosexuals to get gay-married in 2013 under David Cameron’s Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act. Theresa May described the measure recently as one of her greatest achievements. Scotland followed in 2014. Only Northern Ireland holds out against the tide of sodomy.
Consequently, since 2013, students and local authority workers have been harassed by the authorities for expressing traditionalist, Christian views. Many have been thrown off courses or lost their jobs.
In addition, the earlier Equality Act 2010 laid a duty on public authorities to advance homosexuality and transgenderism. A public authority is anything from a fire brigade to a hospital to a government department to a school.
Taken together, the UK’s Equality Act and Britain’s ‘gay marriage’ Act have given the green light to activist head teachers and Stonewall’s gay activists to groom schoolchildren into positive views of a lifestyle characterised by disease, degradation and early death. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome:

In his book Sex and Culture, anthropologist J.D. Unwin, warned that loose sexual mores would lead to cultural decline in the West.
The website EthikaPolitika says: ‘After a careful evaluation a variety of civilizations—including the Romans, Greeks, Sumerians, Moors, Babylonians, and Anglo-Saxons—a clear pattern emerged for Unwin: a perfect correlation between sexual fidelity and civilizational flourishing.

The consequences of the myth that sexual activity and its impacts could be confined to the private sphere soon became apparent. Premarital, extramarital and homosexual relationships proliferated and individuals began placing their individual desires over the common good. An increase in promiscuity corresponded to a subsequent decrease in the social energy required for civilizational maintenance and innovation. Ultimately, each civilization became less cohesive, less aggressive, and less resolute.’
Unwin said: ‘These societies lived in different geographical environments; they belonged to different racial stocks; but the history of their marriage customs is the same. In the beginning each society had the same ideas in regard to sexual regulations. Then the same struggles took place, the same sentiments were expressed, the same changes were made, the same results ensued. Each society reduced its sexual opportunity to a minimum and displaying great social energy, flourished greatly. Then it extended its sexual opportunity; its energy decreased, and faded away. The one outstanding feature of the whole story is its unrelieved monotony.’
Where ‘gay marriage’ is legal

Australia has joined not just Great Britain, but Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, some states of the United States and Uruguay.
Russia and Eastern Europe, Africa, apart from South Africa, and Asia, apart from Taiwan, are holding out.
Furthermore, many of those nations make the commission of unnatural acts a criminal offence.
Those countries which have legalised what Almighty God describes as an abomination, and then devalued God’s institution of marriage, are heading for judgment and disaster.
Unwin concluded: ‘Civilizations in this liminal phase then collapsed from either 1) an internal anarchic revolution, or 2) conquest by invaders with greater social energy.’
Now who could those ‘invaders with greater social energy’ be in Europe, Australia and the Western world in the twenty-first century?
Only hope is in repentance
There is however hope for each individual homosexual, as scripture speaks of them, and many other sinners, finding forgivness and release from the power of sin:
1Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Moreover, there is hope for Australia, Britain and the rest of the decadent West, but only if Christian men will rise up and proclaim the crown rights of King Jesus, calling for and praying for national repentance. Muslim women clutch a Tesco shopping bag. But Muslims don’t believe the truth of Christmas and Tesco don’t even have a halal turkey for them.
Supermarket chain Tesco are under fire for including a Muslim family in an advertisement about Christmas. ‘However you do Christmas, we’ve got a turkey for you.’
Naturally, the ad is supposed to be ‘inclusive’ and ‘promoting diversity’.
But a supermarket does not have to do that. All it needs to do is make money for shareholders.
It does that by selling what it puts on the shelves. Moreover, it does that by bringing in customers, not by putting them off. Tesco did not have to sponsor London Gay Pride in 2012 either. But they did that too. And it backfired on them as disaster followed financial disaster in the succeeding years. Of course there are a couple of gays in the advert, one of whom is holding a baby, just so we get that grindingly politically-correct point as well.
So what we have here is a combination of social engineering and virtue signalling. Perhaps the food giant’s bosses are hoping for some kind of award for their advert. And there are hundreds of those to apply for.
No, we are not being ‘racist’

Some are crying ‘racism’ here, as has LBC’s Maajid Nawaz. Mr Nawaz is deliberately trying to obscure the actual point. And he is hoping the smear will make us back off. But this is not a race matter. It is to do with religion. There is a black woman and an Asian family in the advert. No-one is complaining about that. It’s the women showing off their hijabs (headscarves) which has struck a discordant note.
Moreover, this is a deliberate, gratuitous, incongruous inclusion of Muslims in an advert about Christmas. And why are Muslims out of place in a Christmas ad? It is because Christmas is a religious festival. Also, it is because Christian festivals such as Advent, Christmas, Easter and Whtisun proclaim this nation’s Christian heritage. Above all, it is because Christmas celebrates God becoming one of us in his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ:
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Muslims deny Christmas:
And that is an event Muslims and their Quran maintain did not happen:
Surah 19, Mary: 88. They say: “((Allah)) Most Gracious has begotten a son!” 89. Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! 90. At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down

Total hypocrisy
And now for the totally hypocritical part. Tesco are not even selling halal turkeys. So if you are Muslim, Tesco do not have a turkey for you. They sell halal lamb and chicken however without telling customers it has been dedicated to Allah. So not to include turkeys is a good thing. Every little helps. But don’t pretend you have a turkey for everyone when you don’t.
To be fair, many Tesco stores support food banks, most of which are run by churches. They often allow collections of tinned food. But to think a good deed outweighs an evil one is to fall into the Muslim error itself. There is only one who forgives sin, and his name is Jesus.
So once again, just like over London Gay Pride, we are calling for a boycott of Tesco. Tesco are trying to take Christ out of Christmas. So let Christians and all who value the UK’s Christian heritage buy our Christmas turkey elsewhere. Moreover, let us pray that Tesco will have mountains of turkeys left unsold. Lastly, let us pray God will be glorified and that supermarket bosses will trust in Jesus.

Prince William has been accused of racism after blaming a decline in wildlife on Africa’s growing population.
Gala event
The Duke of Cambridge was speaking at a gala event for a conservation charity last week in London. He is royal patron of the Tusk Trust.
As its name suggests, the charity started by opposing the killing of animals for their tusks. However, it now has a wider conservation remit and a long list of ‘great and good’ patrons.
Wildlife and conservation are certainly important if only because many African nations depend on their wildlife for tourism.
Too many Africans
The Prince proposed ‘a strategy that will allow humans and animal species to share the environment.’ He claimed: ‘In my lifetime, we have seen global wildlife populations decline by over half. We are going to have to work much harder, and think much deeper, if we are to ensure that human beings and the other species of animal with which we share this planet can continue to co-exist.’
The World Wildlife Fund came up with the 50% decline figure in 2014. They said it had happened in 40 years. The Prince is 35. They blamed ‘climate change’ and ‘the combined impacts of habitat loss and degradation, driven by unsustainable human consumption’.
But not even WWF specifically fingered Africans for the decline as Prince William did:
‘Africa’s rapidly growing human population is predicted to more than double by 2050 – a staggering increase of three and a half million people per month,’ he said. ‘There is no question that this increase puts wildlife and habitat under enormous pressure. Urbanization, infrastructure development, cultivation – all good things in themselves, but they will have a terrible impact unless we begin to plan and to take measures now.’
Duke of Edinburgh’s viral reincarnation
HRH did not suggest what sort of ‘planning’ was needed, but it clearly involves reducing at least the rate of increase of Africans. Would his solution be as far-sighted as that of his grandfather?
According to a run-down of his wit in an article in the Guardian, The Duke of Edinburgh said: ‘In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation.’ Another website attributes the sentiment to the Duke’s foreword to a book ‘If I Were an Animal’ (1987) by Fleur Cowles. Mercifully, we are given just the one life to live:

In 2011 Prince Philip said he still believed a growing human population was the biggest challenge to conservation. He kindly ruled out mass sterilization. ‘Voluntary family limitation’, whatever that means, was the only way to tackle what he saw as this huge problem.
Overpopulation is a myth
The truth is, overpopulation, beloved of Malthusians, royal and commoner alike, is an atheist myth. Environmental scientist Erle Ellis debunks it in this article in the New Times. And here is a website dedicated to the subject. The most populous countries are the wealthiest, and as populations become wealthier, their family sizes reduce. We actually need population increase for economic growth and to support the elderly. The real population problem is Europeans not even replacing their numbers. That is leading to ageing populations and a pensions crisis.
The world is not overpopulated, and certainly not overpopulated with Africans. The average population density of Africa is 39.1 inhabitants per square kilometre. Reference Wikipedia. Prince William doing his bit
The royal family have certainly done their bit to achieve that UK figure. The Duchess of Cambridge is currently expecting Prince William’s third child. The Duke of Edinburgh fathered four children. OK, the Tusk Trust might have written most of Prince William’s speech. There are many similarities with positions on their website. But the charity does not quite blame Africans and their natural fecundity for decreases in wildlife populations. That appears to have been the Prince’s own idea. The Bible records the Lord’s creation mandate to Adam and Eve:
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them (Adam and Eve), and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
The Lord has yet to modify that with ‘Hold on, there’s too many of you – and definitely too many black people’.
The Duke of Cambridge would do well to apologise for his racism, seek humility and the word of Almighty God and learn the truth about human populations.
