  1. I want to comment on the GIRLS’ grammar school which wants to be “inclusive” or some nonsense by not calling its pupils girls. There would be some sense to that if they let in boys, but as it stands, it’s an exclusively girls’ school. Any girl who became determined to act as a boy would have to transfer to the equivalent boys’ grammar school to be taken at all seriously.

This did happen in High Wycombe. The parents were very upset that the girls’ school would make no special provision for a girl who had taken it into her head that she was a boy, but they made no move (as far as I know) to have her transfer to the boys’ grammar school, where she would have been much happier (presumably l ….)

Incidentally, when I was at a boys’ grammar school, we were of course all referred to as “boys”. If they had tried calling us “children”, they would have had rioting on their hands . Even the road signs outside were kept as the old-fashioned ones, which did not have pictures of male and female children at all.

I’m all in favour of co-education, but you can’t just have “pretend co-education”. Would they let a boy in because he said he was convinced he was a girl ?
