A Muslim, in his own home, indulges in a marginally Christian activity. (What if he had placed a silver 3d in a plum pudding ? Shock horrorl).

This is an essentially trivial event. Even Stephen might take off his shoes if he ever entered a mosque for some ecumenical reason (or just to see what it is like). Everyone does. Atheists stand up when hymns are sung at public events, unless they feel very strongly about it. People eat dates and samosas at multi-cultural events, or even kosher food if necessary, and halal chicken frequently without realising.

But apparently he is well-known, and he reveals what he has done. Predictably, a lot of ill-mannered people (not a few of them rather illiterate) insult him, and some threaten him with death. “Celebrities” and politicians have got to get used to that now. It is the monster which we have created, and no government will ever dare to suppress it. It’s “just a bit of fun”, I suppose, and you don’t have to read it.

I was particularly amused by the lady who suggests that Muslims don’t deserve to go to Boxing Day Sales. It’s a very long time since you had to show a communion token in order to be admitted to one ! Do Catholics require the Faithful to confess their sins the day before in readiness ? Perhaps that is why people go to church at Christmas in such numbers.

We should be praying for Amir Khan and his wife and family. He seems very mixed up and there has been some negative reporting about him in the past year.
