Somalia: Famine, What Famine?

1

From the BBC website:

‘Somalia’s al-Shabab Islamists have denied lifting their ban on some Western aid agencies and say UN reports of famine are “sheer propaganda”.

‘The UN on Wednesday said that parts of Somalia were suffering a famine after the worst drought in 60 years.

‘A spokesman for al-Shabab, which has ties to al-Qaeda and controls much of the country, accused the banned groups of being political.

‘But the UN insists famine exists and it will continue its aid efforts.

‘Most Western aid agencies quit Somalia in 2009 following al-Shabab’s threats, though some say they have managed to continue operating through local partners.’

So far some much standard Islamist fare. But this is interesting:

‘BBC Somali editor Yusuf Garaad Omar says food aid – as supplied by WFP – is sensitive for al-Shabab as it would like to ensure it goes to regions it controls, rather than government areas.

‘He also says that a lot of money can be made from transporting food. Helping women and children – the work Unicef does – is less of an issue, he says.’

The Christian ideal of helping those less fortunate still permeates Western post-Christian thinking. It is based on Old Testament instructions to be ‘open-handed’ towards the poor and to have special concern for widows and orphans. And it is entirely lacking in Islam.

Daily Mail Heads Info Requests

1

It is fascinating to learn that despite the phone hacking scandal at the News of the World, that paper ranked only 5th in the league table of papers employing private detectives to delve into people’s private lives.

The list, and the details of a 2003 inquiry into use of private investigators carried out by the Information Commissioner’s Office, have now been handed to officers working on the current phone-hacking probe.

According to THE SUN, ‘the ICO’s Operation Motorman uncovered 4,000 requests from 305 journalists and 31 publications for a private investigator to obtain confidential personal information.’

The ICO also said that in many cases, the information appeared to have been obtained illegally.

Of course The Sun is pleased that they have come a lowly 14th in the league table.

And which newspaper tops the list, with 952 requests by 58 journalists? Step forward our dear friends, the Daily Mail. The paper made over 3 requests every working day to private investigators, ‘followed by the Sunday People with 802 requests by 50 journalists, the Daily Mirror with 681 requests by 45 journalists, and the Mail on Sunday with 266 requests by 33 journalists.

‘The NotW was fifth with 228 requests by 23 journalists and The Sun 14th, with only four journalists making requests to private investigators. The information requests, set out in the ICO report “What Price Privacy Now”, are NOT proof that phone hacking took place. ‘

I have experience of Associated Newspapers. Of course there was the dishonest article about me stitched together by an anti-Christian journalist in their Femail section in January. But back in 2005, the Mail on Sunday reported quite wrongly that certain BBC staff had received death threats and had gone into hiding following the brief publication of their home contact details on the Christian Voice website. The story was not true, but the Mail on Sunday then wanted to carry a profile piece on me.

When I refused, the Mail on Sunday sent a man in a shabby raincoat round the local traders trying to dig up dirt on me. He used lines like, ‘I understand you’ve done work for Stephen Green and he owes you a lot of money…’ Every local trader immediately replied, ‘No, Mr Green is one of our best customers.’

Interesting to find that newspapers which many would regard as upholding traditional morality so stoop so low, isn’t it?

David Cameron’s Speech to the Gays

Full Text of Speech given to assorted homosexual activists 22nd June 2011

You‘re all extraordinarily welcome here at Number 10 Downing Street.

I‘m just sorry that because of the uncertainty over the weather, that while we‘re out, we‘re not out in the garden, like we were last year, I‘m afraid.

Ever since the government held drought talks, it hasn‘t stopped raining.

It‘s great to have this reception here today. I was just thinking, someone told me that if Sir Ian McKellen was here, I could say I had the Queen and Prince Phillip here for lunch yesterday, Sir Ian today. Who can say they‘ve had two of Britain‘s most prominent queens over in 48 hours?  (Cue raucous ribald laughter.)

I think we‘ve got a lot to celebrate in Britain when it comes to issues for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Recently, Britain was named the best place for gay equality in Europe. I don‘t think that means we should be complacent.

I think it is a huge testament to the work of the last government and I believe what this government has done as well. It‘s great to see politicians from all parties here. But I just want to say one thing that made me very proud in the House of Commons today, it was a Conservative member of parliament who stood up and congratulated the government on the reception for a section of society that wouldn‘t have happened years ago. Iain Stewart asked that question. I‘m proud he asked that question, I‘m proud I was able to answer it, it shows that all organisations can change.

There‘s a couple of things the government has done that I think have moved this agenda forward, which I want to mention. The first is actually laying the groundwork for having civil partnerships in religious institutions. I think that is a good step forward and I‘m glad that it‘s happening. I also think wiping the slate clean for consensual sexual offences for gay men, that is something we promised as a coalition and we have delivered. Another thing is the huge survey that is being carried out on transgender issues.

I think frankly though we have other areas where we could improve. But there are three I just wanted to mention tonight, that I think we should really focus on, not just as a government but as a country.

The first is the issue of homophobia in sport, and I think it‘s great that tonight, in Number 10, we‘ve got representatives and governing bodies of almost every single sport that I can think of, here signing a charter saying it‘s time to put an end to homophobia and trying to give sports stars who want to come out the confidence to come out.

It‘s a huge honour to have here in Number 10 Downing Street not just Gareth Thomas, not just Ben Cohen, who is doing great campaigning work, but also a great heroine of mine – and in Wimbledon week, amazing to get her here – Billie Jean King.

But frankly there‘s a lot more we need to do. There is an absolutely tiny number of sports personalities who have felt able to come out and we should be doing far more for those who don‘t feel comfortable enough to do that. And that links to the second issue that I want to mention and that is the issue of homophobic bullying in schools, which is still a huge problem in our country.

And frankly, the two issues are interlinked because young people need role models and if we don‘t have enough role models, enough positive role models, then behaviour won‘t change. So I think that while government clearly has a huge role, in making sure we tackle bullying, in making sure headteachers have the powers they need and making sure we address the issue properly, it‘s not just a government problem or a legal problem, it‘s a societal problem. Sport has a massive influence.

The third issue, where I think we are making progress as a government, and I think an area where we have the ability to make progress, is the fact that gay people can be appallingly treated in other parts of the world, particularly in Africa.

Now, we‘ve had to make a lot of difficult decisions as a government and we‘ve had to make lots of tough decisions but I‘m very proud of the fact, in spite of the fact that it‘s not always popular, we have made the difficult, but I believe the right, decision, to maintain a commitment to 0.7 per cent of our national income going in aid to the poorest countries by 2013. It‘s a huge commitment for Britain to make, alone in the world. Everywhere is breaking their promises … we are keeping our promises to the poorest people in the world. And I think this is right morally because as a rich country, we should be helping the poorest people in the world.

But it also has a spin-off benefit of giving us some moral authority in the world to talk to other leaders and governments about our relationship with them and what we expect from them. I‘m very proud of the fact we [put] huge pressure on the leader of Malawi about an issue in that country but I‘m convinced we can do more. We have got the ability to speak to African leaders, African governments, about this issue that I know concerns everyone here tonight. And it concerns me.

REJECT CAMERON’S CULTURAL IMPERIALISM

SIGN THE PETITION to Save Africa from Sodomy.

David Cameron has pledged to use foreign aid as a lever for pressuring Africa to accept gay rights and legalise sodomy.

The Prime Minister‘s comments were made on 22 June as he hosted his second Downing Street reception for the perverted axe-grinders who call themselves the ‘LGBT community’, including one man known for staging pornographic events.

FULL TEXT OF CAMERON’S SPEECH HERE

The Prime Minister said that a spin-off benefit‘ of giving foreign aid is that it allows the Government to have a say in what happens in the world‘s poorest countries. He said: ‘We have got the ability to speak to African leaders, African governments, about this issue that I know concerns everyone here tonight. And it concerns me.’

During the course of the evening Mr. Cameron spoke with pride of the Government‘s accomplishment on homosexual issues but emphasized that they have a long way still to go in addressing the ‘societal problem of homophobia.’

Cameron outlined other areas where he hoped to see improvement and he urged homosexuals in sport to ‘come out.’

Guests at the reception included Billie Jean King, Gareth Thomas, Ben Cohen and Kieron Richardson, in addition to a number of homosexual rights campaigners such as Ben Summerskill, the chief executive of Stonewall.

Cameron‘s speech was preceded by a performance from the London Gay Men‘s Chorus.

At the beginning of his talk the Prime Minister tried to be funny, saying, ‘It‘s great to have this reception here today. I was just thinking, someone told me that if Sir Ian McKellen was here, I could say I had the Queen and Prince Phillip here for lunch yesterday, Sir Ian [McKellen] today. Who can say they’ve had two of Britain‘s most prominent queens over in 48 hours?’

PRAY: Proverbs 6:16-18 declares that the Lord hates a heart that devises wicked plans and feet that are swift in running to evil. After inviting this collection of perverts and social totalitarians to 10 Downing Street, there can be no question that David Cameron has set his feet to run after evil and his heart to devise wicked plans.

The only thing worse than Mr. Cameron devising wicked plans for this country, however, is that he intends to export his schemes to Africa.  Locked in a colonial timewarp, he thinks the white man knows far better than those he regards as ignorant black savages.

Pray that he is brought to his knees in repentance for his behaviour and that this will be the last of such meetings held at 10 Downing Street.

Pray also that the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October will send a message to Cameron and other wealthy white liberals that cultural imperialism, holding the poor to ransom until they legalise godless Western depravity, is simply unacceptable in the modern world.

WRITE: to (or e-mail) your MP to protest at the Prime Minister’s proposed use of aid to Africa as a vehicle for forcing poor nations to accept wickedness.  Also complain at his attempts at humour, the distasteful comments about HM the Queen in particular.

Miscarriage of Justice Continues in Johansson Case

4

The fate of Domenic Johansson is still uncertain following a court hearing on 11 May. A new hearing has been scheduled for the end of the month due to Christer being unable to attend the one on 11 May.

A few weeks after the hearing a verdict will be issued determining whether Domenic is allowed to return to his parents.

Humanly speaking, it is unlikely that the hearing will change the status quo. Such meetings have been occurring every six months since Domenic was first snatched from his parents two years ago by the Swedish Social Services. So far each of these hearings have culminated in a negative verdict.

Once Domenic has been in state custody for three years, the review hearings will end and Domenic can be put up for adoption.

Neither of the parents have been convicted of any crime, nor has there been any evidence that they are poor parents. The court documents complain that the Johanssons were home schooling, yet they did so at a time when this was still legal in Sweden.

Gotland Social Services have accused the father, Christer Johansson of being a narcissist, though to date there has been no official diagnosis. They have also accused Mr Johansson of being overly concerned with health and human rights, as if this makes him an unfit father.

Court-Appointed Foster Mother Threatens To Break Law

Domenic’s foster mother has requested custody of Domenic and has allegedly said that she will make sure Domenic stays with her no matter what the courts eventually decide. Similarly, Domenic’s state-appointed ‘representative’, Eva Ernston, has said off the record that ‘Domenic is better off without his weird father.’

Ernston has also filed a ‘protection from abuse’ order against Christer, essentially stating that he must remain a certain distance away from Domenic in the future. However, given the fact that they live on a small island, this would leave Christer with little room for movement.

Background

The trouble started on 25 June, 2009, when seven-year old Domenic Johansson was seated in a commercial airliner with his parents awaiting departure on a flight to India.

Though the family had received no prior warning, Swedish authorities boarded the plane just minutes before take-off, forcibly removing Domenic from his parents and placing him in foster care.

Domenic is a dual citizen of Sweden and India. The family were planning to move to India where Mrs Johansson’s family lives. Because Domenic reached school age shortly before the planned trip, Christer thought it would be best to homeschool his son during the interim. (They were not planning on homeschooling Domenic in India.)

When Mr Johansson got in touch with the Swedish Ministry of Education to inquire about home education, the Ministry told him to contact his local school principal in order to obtain the necessary curriculum. However, when Mr Johansson contacted the principal of the nearest public school, the principal refused to provide the materials, saying “You don’t have the right to educate your son and I will be taking this further.”

What the principal meant by “taking it further” was that the family would be reported to the social services. Mr Johansson didn’t know that at the time, but he did know that the Ministry of Education, Swedish law and Europe’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights all allowed them to homeschool. So he and Annie began educating Domenic.

Officials at the local school district were furious about this and called Mr Johansson before a hearing of the Child and Education Department. During the hearing Mr Johansson explained to the judge that the family was planning on relocating to India in six weeks to be with Annie’s family. It did not make sense to keep Domenic in the state school only to withdraw him shortly afterwards. The judge replied, “Ok, fine” and asked for the date of travel.

No court order was issued prohibiting the family from leaving the country. Domenic is a dual citizen of Sweden and India and had every right to accompany his parents on the move. Christer and Annie were completely shocked when the authorities boarded the airliner and forcibly removed their son. (This was during the summer holidays when school was not happening anyway.)

It seems clear that Gotland Social Services only motivation in the abduction was so they could force Domenic to attend a Swedish school.

After Domenic’s abduction, there followed an agonizing 18 months during which Social Services told Mr and Mrs Johansson that they could only have an access meeting with their son every five weeks if they pretended that they did not want him at home.

At this time the Social Services went on a character assassination campaign, looking for evidence against the parents. The only things they could find were incomplete vaccinations and a cavity in one of Domenic’s baby teeth. In neither of these instances were the parents in breach of the law. Moreover, the parents had already scheduled a dentist appointment for their son in India.

‘Kidnapping’ His Own Son

After 18 months, the Johanssons finally exhausted all the legal appeals available to them in the Swedish court system. They hired one of the best human rights lawyers in Europe, but the judge dismissed her from the case. Moreover, the Supreme Administrative Court of Sweden rejected their final appeal on the grounds that by preventing the family moving to India, the court was protecting Domenic’s ‘right to education.’

Meanwhile, it became increasingly difficult for Christer and Annie to keep lying to their son.
Every time the visits occurred, Domenic would ask, “please let me come home.” And every time the parents were forced to try to pretend that they didn’t want Domenic back.

Christer knew what often happened to other Swedish children in foster care, and worried for his son’s safety. In Daniel Hammarberg’s shocking exposé of the Swedish social services, The Madhouse: A Critical Study of Swedish Society, Hammarberg gives alarming evidence that Swedish children who are taken away from their parents often suffer mental health problems as a result. Some even commit suicide. Christer began to worry what might happen to his son if Domenic continued to think that his parents were rejecting him.

This put the parents in an agonizing position. Should they continue to lie to their son and destroy his faith in the only two human beings in this world that truly love him? Or should they tell Domenic the truth – that they love him and want him back? After an agonizing time, Mr Johansson decided to tell his son the truth and suffer the consequences. Thus, he defied the social services by bringing Domenic home. The boy was able to spend two days with his family and learn the truth: that they loved him and wanted him home, that they had not rejected him and had been fighting for his freedom.

Two days later police descended upon the Johansson home and once again took Domenic into captivity in addition to arresting Mr Johansson on the charge of kidnapping his own son.

While in prison Mr Johansson was subject to psychological evaluations and deprived of adequate representation. However, the court-appointed psychologist cleared Mr Johansson of having any psychological problems and he was released in January this year. This has not prevented the social services from continuing to make unfounded claims about the mental health of both Mr and Mrs Johansson.

Charge of Abuse

“There must be more to this case,” many people have been saying. “The parents must be guilty of harming their son in some way or the social services would surely not have reacted like this.” In order to properly respond to objections such as these, Christian Voice has managed to obtain a translation of the transcript of the hearing that occurred before the Administrative Court of Appeal of Stockholm in 2009. The hearing was an important landmark in this case since the social services clearly identified the grounds of their concern.

In the transcript the court has identified certain emotional and psychological problems that Domenic allegedly suffers from, and they have blamed the parents for these problems. However, the only symptoms they cite are those which were observed in Domenic after he was abducted from his parents. This is hardly surprising, as one would expect a boy who was removed from his parents at seven to behave abnormally.

Court appointed ‘experts’ who have talked to people who have observed Domenic have said he is in great need of “stability.” Again, this is what we would expect from someone who has been removed from his loving parents. However, in the court documents Christian Voice obtained, the social workers have argued that Domenic’s need for stability is because he was deprived of security by his parents. It has not seemed to occur to them that perhaps the lack of stability may have resulted from their own interference and the stressful separation from his parents. The transcript reads:

“From the descriptions of school staff and foster parents it appears that Domenic has major difficulties in social interplay… Domenic has a distanceless way of relating and doesn’t understand his own feelings and can’t put names to them. … His connection pattern appears ambivalent. On top of that there’s indication of mental illness.

If this establishes anything, it is that Domenic is under enormous stress right now from being separated from his parents. These symptoms are a common feature in the youth under the care of the Swedish Social Services and are not necessarily the result of bad parenting on the part of the parents. However, when we read on we find the court giving a very different assessment:

“The assessment is that [Domenic] has been exposed to substantial lack in care and that he’s judged to be in need of routine, stability and a predictable treatment.”

There is absolutely no evidence to back up this assessment because social services never observed Domenic within his own home. All observation of him has been after the traumatic event of his removal. Nevertheless, the court’s conclusion was that these symptoms are the result of abuse from the parents and mental illness on the part of the mother:

“There is significant deficiencies in care, almost to the point of abuse, of Domenic under a long period…. The emotional care deficiency is considered to consist of Dominic not having taken part in day-care or schooling which has resulted in social isolation and unsatisfactory stimulation with lags in his development as a consequence. Furthermore the social welfare board feels that the deficiencies to a large extent have their roots in Christer Johansson’s mental and personal status and Annie Johansson’s mental illness.

European Court of Human Rights

The Alliance of Romanian Families (AFR) is now intervening in the case in an attempt to force it before the European Court of Human Rights. A judgement from the European Court of Human Rights would mean that Sweden could be ordered to pay damages for the breach of human rights demonstrated by this case.

Peter Costea, President of the AFR, has stated that, “The proper resolution of this case is of utmost institutional importance to Romanian families, home educators and the protection of both parental and children’s rights.” He went on to say, “The sole contention of the state was that Domenic was being home educated.”

Unfortunately, the European Court of Human Rights is not moving on the case. “It has been rumoured that there may be a court official [in the European Court of Human Rights] who is hostile to anti-Sweden applications,” said Michael Donnelly an attorney who works with international cases for the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). He said, “Our hope is that a number of letters inquiring about the case from the public will get the needed attention on the case.”

Ruby Harrold-Claesson, the president of the Nordic Committee for Human Rights, said she is “absolutely astonished” that the European Court of Human Rights has not responded to any of the applications submitted on behalf of the family.

READ: Malachi 4:6; Mark 9:42.  Also READ: Genesis 2:23-24; Genesis 9:6, 10:5: God instituted the Family before the State!  Psalm 24:1; Matt 22:21: the Almighty has put limits on the power he has granted to the State.

PRAY: that this tragic case alerts the people of Sweden, as well as the entire international community, to the scandalous miscarriages of justice being perpetuated by the social services throughout Europe. The Swedish social services are not alone in having a long record of interventionist behaviour. Acting without proof and independent of judicial process, social services can arbitrarily remove children from their parents. Ostensibly for the protection of children, they have become more powerful even than the police. Pray for the children who have become victims to this system.

The UK itself has a track record of similar injustices. This has been a matter of deep concern which Christian Voice has been raising for some years. Social workers are allowed to remove children from their parents without proof of abuse and without a trial, merely because they suspect the parents might be unfit. Moreover, they frequently have incentives for doing so in order to meet adoption targets. (For more information on this, request a copy of our March 2009 newsletter.)

Christian Voice would like to be in touch with young adults in the UK who were taken away from their parents by social services when they were children, and who have now come out the other end.  Pray that the Lord will put us in touch with such people.

In writing your letters, ask some of the questions that were posted on the Friends of Domenic blog (http://friendsofdomenic.blogspot.com ) earlier in the month:

  • In what court, in this day and age, is it considered justice to deny the accused their choice of legal counsel, and the chance to offer witnesses and testimony supporting their claim of innocence?
  • In what court is justice served when a sitting judge is presented written testimony as evidence from doctors and psychiatrists stating the mental health of the accused to be sound, yet this same judge ignores the expert testimony and instead accepts as gospel truth the testimony of child welfare workers, who are neither doctors nor psychiatrists, but who “diagnose” the defendant as having a narcissistic personality disorder?
  • In what court is justice served when Eva Ernston, who is paid by the state of Sweden to “represent” Domenic’s interests in court, publicly and indiscriminately boasts to friends and strangers alike, that “Domenic is better off without his weird father”? So much for keeping secret the reason Gotland Social Services has destroyed a family. According to Ernston, it is because Christer Johansson is, in her own words, “weird.”
  • In what court is justice served when Domenic’s foster mother tells little Domenic that he will stay with her regardless of what the judge decides, essentially telling the little boy she will break the law, if she has to, to keep him with her?
  • In what court is justice served when this same foster mother tells child welfare workers what she told Domenic: that she will not give him back to his parents no matter what the court decides; and upon hearing this declaration, rather than reprimand, correct or otherwise protect Domenic from a foster mother untrustworthy enough to break the law rather than relinquish a child not hers to keep in the first place, the child welfare workers put in an official Gotland Social Services document, word for word what the foster mother told Domenic, then send this document to the Johanssons to further demoralize them?

Christer Johansson Released from Prison

4
The Johansson family before they were separated. Although the father has now been released from prison, the boy, Domenic, remains separated from his parents.

A father who freed his son for two days from Swedish Social Services was released from prison last month.  The son, aged nine, remains in foster care following the family’s decision to homeschool before a planned emigration to India.

Christer Johansson was arrested two months ago on a charge of kidnapping his own child after he and his son Domenic walked out of a government ‘contact’ centre.

The trouble started on 26 June, 2009, when seven-year old Domenic Johansson was seated in a commercial airliner with his parents awaiting departure on a flight to India .

Though the family had received no prior warning, Swedish authorities boarded the plane just minutes before take-off, forcibly removed Domenic from his parents and placed him in foster care.

Domenic is a dual citizen of Sweden and India . The family were planning to move to India where Mrs. Johansson’s family lives, and were planning to place Domenic in a school there. However, Swedish Social Services on the island of Gotland wanted to prevent the move to force Domenic to attend a Swedish state school instead.

The family received no preliminary warning, nor had they been forbidden from leaving the country.  Christian Voice understands that during an earlier court hearing, Christer Johansson explained that the reason they wanted to home-school was because they would be emigrating to India shortly.  The judge allowed the family to home-school, but as Christer had disclosed their date of travel to the court, social services and the police were able to board the plane, a move which the family did not foresee.

After Domenic’s abduction, there followed an agonizing 18 months during which Social Services told Mr & Mrs Johansson that they could only have an access meeting every five weeks with Domenic if they pretended to him that they did not want him at home.  British Social Services impose similar conditions on parents.

Finally, Christer Johansson decided to defy the social services by bringing Domenic home.  He was able to spend two days with his family and learn the truth: that they loved him and wanted him home, that they had not rejected him and had been fighting for his freedom.

That was on 22nd November last year. Two days later police descended upon the Johansson home and once again took Domenic into captivity in addition to arresting Mr. Johansson on the charge of kidnapping.

While in prison Mr. Johansson was subject to psychological evaluations and deprived of adequate representation. However, the court-appointed psychologist cleared Mr. Johansson of psychological problems.

The finding of the psychologist is in direct opposition to the accusations made against Mr. Johansson by the Social Services – accusations which formed part of their case for why Domenic should not be returned to his parents. Nevertheless, the Friends of Domenic Blog has reported that “Gotland Social Services continues to insist that Mr. Johansson suffers from a narcissistic disorder, while independent psychological assessments find him psychologically healthy.”

WE SAY: This case displays all the arrogance of Social Services departments that we experience in Britain. The Swedish SS believe they know better than parents how a child should be educated.  They believe it is better for a child to be forcibly placed ‘in care’ and made to attend a Swedish school than go to India with his parents and attend school there.

PETER TATCHELL AND THE PAEDOPHILE BOOK

It was the start of a liberated sexual new dawn. The era of ‘Why not?’ Archaic laws restricting sexual practices and relationships were going to be swept away. No-one was to say who should do sexual things with whoever, or how. Sexual liberation had become – for some reason – a vital part of true Socialism. If adults consented, then, hey, why should the Church, or the Government, or assorted boring old fuddy-duddies say no to them? And for that matter, if children wanted sex lives, or if adult homosexual men wanted sex lives with children, then that was all part and parcel of the glorious sexual revolution.

Or so it seemed in 1986, when the most extraordinary book of the decade, The Betrayal of Youth, (Click here for the Table of Contents) was published by CL publications inLondonwith the sub-title “Radical Perspectives on Childhood Sexuality, Intergenerational Sex, and the Social Oppression of Children and Young People.”

The Betrayal of Youth was edited by none less than Warren Middleton (alias John Parrott – NOT the snooker player) the then “vice-chairperson” of the Paedophile Information Exchange, Britain’s foremost paedophile advocacy and aficionado support group. They did indeed have a lot of vice to be chairperson of.

A CAMPAIGNING BOOK
In a preface, Middleton acknowledged the help or support of Dr Ken Plummer of Essex University, Dr Brian Taylor of Sussex, Mr John Hart of Sheffield Poly, Chris and Jayne Hobbs, his mother and father, homosexual activist Jeffrey Weeks, Nettie Pollard of the National Campaign for Civil Liberty (now called just ‘Liberty’), assorted activists and feminists, and a large number of P.I.E. executive committee members.

The book was part of a campaign to abolish all ages of consent, destroy the responsibilities of parents for their children, deny any ill-effects on children of interference by paedophiles, and withal to make it easier for paedophiles to gain sexual access to children.

A host of weird sex-obsessed nutcases contributed, at Middleton’s invitation. Among them was militant feminist Beatrice Faust, another was the editor of the Sex Maniac’s Diary, Tuppy Owens. In fact she wrote a chapter with Tom O’Carroll, convicted of corrupting public morals earlier by sending out a list of paedophile contacts.

Labour activist Eric Presland, playwright and leading light in the Organisation for Lesbian and Gay Action (OLGA), contributed to The Betrayal of Youth. His article was a routine denunciation of the “power” that adult society has over children, prefaced by a first-person account of sexual activity with children. Mr Presland related his first paedophile experience with a Asian boy of thirteen, and boasted of interfering with a little boy of six.

AGES OF CONSENT ‘ARE USELESS’
‘Parents,’ he wrote, ‘because of their autocratic power, their exclusive rights, and dubious motives of self-aggrandisement which lie behind the decision to have and rear children, are in many ways the group least fitted to be entrusted with the task of child-rearing.’ So who are? Reading his chapter one is left with a strong impression that he thinks paedophiles make the best child-rearers. Presland wrote of one pre-pubescent sexual partner, ‘I fought for him to free himself from the confines of the family.’

Two of the editorial collective of the far-left Peace News, Miss Kathy Challis and Miss Elizabeth Holtom, the latter a Quaker, contributed a chapter for The Betrayal of Youth. In it they ventured an opinion that would have been viewed with astonishment by Josephine Butler in her fight against child prostitution 100 years earlier: ‘Ages of consent are useless. They are completely unrealistic, and they don’t give children protection from exploitation in any case.’

The former chairman of the Paedophile Information Exchange, Steve Smith, contributed a chapter to The Betrayal of Youth. The biographical notes said coyly he “now resides inHolland” – he fled there to avoid conviction for sending obscene articles through the post – and he “now hopes to become active in the Dutch crusade for children’s rights.” Presumably he did just that, until even the Dutch lost patience, deporting Smith back to theUKand 18 months at Her Majesty’s pleasure in 1991.

PAEDOPHILE MOODY ADVOCATES CHILDREN’S RIGHTS
A member of the PIE executive revealed the group’s early thinking on consent law in the Scottish Minorities Group homosexual paper:

‘Adults should be prohibited under CIVIL law from having relationships with children under 4, and in the case of children over 3 and under 10 a similar civil injunction could also be made by those close to the child …. For children between 10 and 18 there should be no legal restriction in cases which did not involve proven physical/psychological harm. Ten is the legal age of responsibility and if a child is deemed responsible for its criminal acts then it should be responsible for its own sex life.’

But Roger Moody, an ‘out’ paedophile intellectual, set out a political stratagem, the key to which was “a revolutionary perspective on social change.” Roger Moody explains:

‘Specifically, this means we don’t work to lower the age of consent, but to abolish it, and we don’t argue that rights over kids be transferred from courts to parents, but that the only people who have the right to kid’s rights – are the kids themselves.’

This was the philosophy behind The Betrayal of Youth for which Peter Tatchell wrote his chapter ‘Questioning Ages of Majority and Ages of Consent.’ His chapter preceded Moody’s offering: ‘Ends ‘and Means; How to Make Paedophilia Acceptable.’

CHILDREN’S RIGHTS CAMPAIGNER’
At the height of the Cleveland child sex abuse scandal, Peter Tatchell was allowed to comment on it on the Jimmy Young TV programme and promptly advocated ‘rights’ for children, In The Betrayal of Youth Mr Tatchell, homosexual activist, self-proclaimed ‘children’s rights campaigner’ and described as an ‘avid supporter of socialism,’ according to the biographical details, tried to make the legal molestation of children an ingredient of democracy:

‘In a fully democratic and egalitarian society, there can be no question of adults usurping the rights of young people by keeping them in a state of ignorance, fear and guilt, or by resort to arbitrary and autocratic laws which deny them responsibility for decisions affecting their lives.’

When I pressed him on this point in a debate at the Oxford Union it turned out that the abolition of the ‘arbitrary and autocratic’ age of consent law applied to children of twelve. My suggestion that it might involve children even as young as ten did not even cause Tatchell to blink. After all, the whole point of his article and the theme of The Betrayal of Youth was that there should be no age of consent at all.

Indeed, Tatchell wrote in The Betrayal of Youth that the age of majority (sexual consent) is ‘Re-inforcing a set of increasingly quaint, minority moral values left over from the Victorian era.’ The idea that they might just protect children from predatory men, men like his co-contributors, is not one that found any sympathy with Peter Tatchell.

REQUESTS – AND THREATS
When I was on BBC’s The Big Questions on 8th January this year, Peter Tatchell was one of the podium guests. I was asked by the production crew not to comment about paedophilia in connection with Tatchell. The request had come from Tatchell himself. That incident prompted this article. And why should Tatchell make such a request? Not the Oxford Union debate, but another event almost sixteen years ago is still in his mind.

On the Judy Finnegan television show on Sunday 8th May 1994, just eight years after its publication, I accused Peter Tatchell of contributing a chapter to The Betrayal of Youth, which I described as a paedophile book. Tatchell is of course the leader of the homosexual media stunt group Outrage. When the homosexual ‘age of consent’ was last lowered – to 16 – an Outrage banner was photographed saying ’16 is just a start’.

Anyway, Tatchell called me a liar, and threatened me with a suit for libel. In the “hospitality suite” afterwards he became abusive and violent. Obviously, Tatchell’s contribution to the book on its own, let alone the company in which he placed himself, is now a source of great embarrassment to him, as indeed it should be. No writ was ever received, of course.

PAEDOPHILES ‘AN OPPRESSED GROUP’
For the high-minded socialists and homosexuals of the 1970s and 1980s, sexuality was seen as just one aspect of the way in which children were exploited by patriarchal capitalism. Campaign for Homosexual Equality chairman Michael Jarrett was identifying paedophiles as an oppressed group, and the CHE list of “demands” included the complete abolition of minimum ages for sexual activity. The Labour Gay Rights Manifesto of 1985 said ‘A socialist society would superseded the family household. … Gay people and children should have the right to live together. … It follows from what we have already said that we favour the abolition of the age of consent.’

So was Peter Tatchell out on a limb writing in a book advocating paedophilia, edited by a known paedophile? It is true that a lot of the loony homosexual left thought the same as he did and some of them were active paedophiles as well. But most of them stayed clear of contributing to this vile book. We should be clear that there is no evidence that Peter Tatchell was or ever has been a paedophile – but he certainly gave them support and was in company with them in The Betrayal of Youth.

PETER TATCHELL HAS QUESTIONS TO ANSWER
But twenty-four years later, and with Peter Tatchell elevating himself to the status of ‘human rights activist,’ helping a bunch of child-abusers achieve what they thought were their ‘human rights’ to interfere with small children doesn’t seem quite such a clever thing to have done. Are Tatchell’s views at an intellectual level still the same? Does he realise the implications of them? Does he understand that he provided support to a bunch of men who wanted nothing less than to interfere with little tots? Who approached whom to secure his contribution to this shameful book? Was he aware that Warren Middleton (alias John Parrott), the editor of The Betrayal of Youth, was an avowed child molester? Was he aware that at least two other active paedophiles were contributors? Is he still in contact with Middleton and his cronies? Has he ever renounced them? Answers to these questions will reveal much about Peter Tatchell’s mind, agenda and judgment.

HOW TO WRITE TO YOUR MP

Houses of Parliament

These are the rules for writing any letter or email to your MP:

1 Ask your MP to ask a question of the minister responsible.  This ensures you will get a reply.  Never write to a minister direct.  It makes your MP look redundant.  Kill two birds with one stone.
2 Be precise.  Do not ramble.  State the matter in the first paragraph and make each point concisely.  I always try to say everything on one well-spaced page.  If you go to three pages, you have lost the game.
3 Be patient.  Assume your MP knows nothing about the case, so explain carefully (but precisely!)
4 Be accurate.  Do your own research or rely on a group like Christian Voice who check everything.
5 Be legible.  If your handwriting is not up to it, type it or email and spell-check.
6 Be calm.  No ranting and raving, no over-the-top comments, no snide remarks.
7 Ask your MP to agree with you if the occasion arises.  This could be your question (see 1).
8 Keep to one subject.  If two things are on your mind, write two letters, a couple of days apart.

Letters are always written to your MP at: House of Commons, LONDON, SW1A 0AA

Emails can also be sent.  You need to know either your MP’s name or your Parliamentary Constituency.  Both of these, together with email addresses may be found here on the Parliament website.  If you know neither your MP nor your constituency you can simply type your postcode in a box.  In fact, that is the easiest way to get staight to his/her contact details.

Johansson Father Denied Representation and Subject to Psychological Evaluations

1
Domenic and his father, Christer Johansson, before they were separated.

Swedish authorities have begun subjecting prisoner, Christer Johansson, to psychological evaluations while continuing to reject his request for representation.

In a hearing on 20th December, the father of Dominic Johansson was not allowed to be represented by a lawyer of his choice, after being accused of kidnapping and unlawful detention.

The charges were brought against Mr. Johansson after he walked out of a government centre with his son Domenic during a contact session.

The trouble started on 26 June, 2009, when seven-year old Domenic Johansson was seated in a commercial airliner with his parents awaiting departure of a flight to India.

Though the family had received no prior warning, Swedish authorities boarded the plane just minutes before take-off, forcibly removing Domenic from the custody of his parents and placing him in foster care.
Domenic is a dual citizen of Sweden and India. His mother’s family all live in India, where the family was planning to move to.

But Swedish Social Services in Domenic’s home town of Gottland wanted to prevent the move from taking place in order that Domenic would be forced to attend their school.

The family received no preliminary warning, nor had they been forbidden from leaving the country.
After Domenic’s abduction, there followed an agonizing 18 months leading up to the incident when Christer Johansson decided to defy the social services and bring Domenic home.

That was on 22 November last year. On 24 November, police descended upon their home and arrested Mr. Johansson and once again took Domenic into captivity.Since then Mr. Johansson has been struggling to obtain representation by Trygve Emstedt, a human rights lawyer with 30 years’ experience who desires to take on the case.

Even though Sweden’s constitution and Article 6 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights guarantees every Swedish citizen the right to a fair trial and the right to choose his own representation Gotland courts have insisted that Christer be represented by their own public defender.

Moreover, it now seems that the Swedish authorities are looking for evidence to use against Christer. On 1 January, Bob Unruh reported in World Net Daily that unspecified psychological studies or evaluations have been ordered for Mr. Johansson.

PRAY:  Much prayer is still needed for Domenic’s mother, Annie, who is suffering acutely because of the tragic separation of her family. Also for Christer, that the Lord would sustain him in prison and that he would be allowed to have adequate legal representation. Finally, pray for Dominic, that the Lord would engineer circumstances to reunite him with his parents.

SECRET HALAL TAKEAWAY

21

Thursday 16th December 2010

By Stephen Green

Major restaurants, take-aways and sporting venues are secretly serving up halal meat. In another twist to the scandal of lamb and chicken being dumped on all supermarket own-brand shelves with the exception of M&S and Morrisons, meat sacrificed to Allah is being served up in major fast-food outlets and popular pub chains.

THE RESTAURANT TRADE
Halal chicken and lamb are likely to emerge from the kitchens in Harvester, Toby, Beefeater and Brewers Fayre restaurants. Whitbread, who own the latter two along with Premier Inns, have admitted that three-quarters of their poultry is halal. Mitchells and Butlers are responsible for Harvester, Toby and TravelLodge. They told Christian Voice that New Zealand lamb – of which 75% is halal – is being used as well as halal chicken in their outlets.

Traditionally, halal slaughtering was carried out without stunning, and many Muslim clerics still maintain that stunning of any sort means the animal is not ‘healthy’ when it is killed. But the Halal Food Authority now allows electric stunning, having been shown that animals can recover afterwards – if they are not cut in the meantime. So the problem is not principally one of animal welfare. Except in some franchises, the companies involved are adamant that the meat they use is from animals which are stunned before slaughter. But in many British abattoirs, a Muslim slaughterman is saying ‘Bismillah Allahu Akhbar’ (Arabic for: ‘In the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest’) over a large proportion of the lamb and chicken which ends up on our tables or in take-away cartons.

SPORTING VENUES AND PIZZAS DO NOT TELL
As there is over-production of halal meat, a lot of it is dumped on the non-halal market. So sporting venues like Royal Ascot and Wembley are selling halal meat. All chicken at Ascot is halal because it is ‘easier to store and cook only one type of meat.’ But it is not advertised as halal, which begs the question as to why the venue went down that route in the first place. At Wembley, all beef, chicken and lamb is halal, so a football fan with an objection to creeping Islamification has to stick to sausage rolls or bacon sandwiches. Again, there is no honest labelling at Wembley, nor at Twickenham, another sporting venue serving up halal chicken.

Turning to the High Street, the burger chains, McDonalds, Burger King and Wimpy appear to be halal free, but pizza outlets Dominos and Pizza Hut both use halal chicken in their toppings, much of it from halal abattoirs abroad. Halal chicken is imported from Brazil , Thailand and Turkey , undercutting domestic producers. One might think to avoid halal completely by ordering a ham and pineapple or pepperoni pizza, but some independent pizza outlets in areas with a Muslim population refuse even to handle ‘haram’ meat, which largely means anything made from pork.

KEBABS, INDIANS AND FRIED CHICKEN
It is fair to say that every kebab shop will serve halal lamb and chicken, if for no other reason than that the kebab is a middle-eastern invention. The kebab meat will be sourced from specialist suppliers, and if any of them are not Muslim, it would be very surprising. The same goes for curry houses. Most ‘Indian’ restaurants are in fact run by Muslims, not Hindus, and any restaurant run by Muslims will serve up halal lamb and chicken and will not announce the fact on the menu.

The most famous fried chicken chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken, sources some chicken from abroad for its 780 shops, and has just under a hundred halal-only outlets, running as an on-going pilot. Southern Fried Chicken is the next biggest, with 400 branches, which all operate as franchises. Nearly all are halal, and we were told that many announce the fact on the window. Miss Millies, located around Bristol , are totally halal. It is fair to say most the fried chicken outlets are franchises (KFC is 50/50 franchise and company), and most operate in big towns. Muslims are concentrated in towns and are heavily involved in the take-away trade. Is it any surprise that a majority of chicken take-aways are halal? Halal outlets often have a halal sign visible outside, as much as to promote themselves amongst local Muslims as anything.

Nandos, the chicken-based restaurant and take-away chain, have 234 outlets. Of these, 61 are halal-only and some chicken in the others is halal. Subway operate as a franchise as well, and a significant number of franchisees have gone halal, some of which put a sign in the window. Some halal Subways are so strict they will not serve pork, so a ham and cheese ‘sub’ is not on the menu.

AN OPPORTUNITY
If there is no halal sign in the window or on the menu, the Christian customer can either keep quiet on St Paul’s ‘don’t ask’ principle (from 1 Cor 10:25) or ask the local restaurant or chicken take-away if they are serving halal meat or not. At the very least that is an opportunity to explain your point of view, and then to share the Gospel. The Scriptural witness on this matter has made me seriously review where I am prepared to eat. I used to like fried chicken take-aways and the odd lamb madras, but I can eat them no more without checking they are non-halal first. Of course there is always fish and chips.

READ: Lev 19:4; Psalm 96:5; Isa 2:18; Dan 1:8; Zech 13:2; Acts 15:20, 21:25; 1Cor 8:1-13, 10:18-28; Rev 2:14.20.

PRAY: That this information gets out and that there is an uprising of customer opinion expressed to the food industry. Whitbread told the Mail on Sunday they would ‘definitely’ provide information to let diners know their chicken was halal if their was ‘customer demand’ for it. So pray that the demand is shown. Christian Voice members have really made the big stores aware of the problem. Light is now even dawning at Sainsbury’s that it is the Islamic ‘Shahada’ or declaration that is the problem, not stunning. (It will take a miracle before the Co-op acknowledge any religious significance to the issue, but there we are.)

The same can easily be done with the restaurant and fast-food trade. Pray that the Lord guides and blesses this campaign and that He is glorified through it. As always, stress that it is the Islamic declaration to Allah, not the stunning issue, which is at the heart of your concerns.

BRITISH AIRWAYS STANDS FIRM
Britain ‘s leading airline has told Christian Voice that it has no intention of going halal-only, despite a Daily Mail story that its on-board catering supplier, Gate Gourmet, intended to become halal-only. Peter van Niekerk, head of GateGroup in the UK , said, ‘We are at the moment competing for some halal business and when we make that, the scale tips.’ He said the company would consult with customers such as BA and Cathay Pacific to ‘manage perceptions.’

But British Airways said bluntly: ‘While Gate Gourmet may be looking to produce more halal meals, our own in-flight catering is not changing. This means we will continue to provide halal meals at the request of individual passengers, on flights where this option is available.’

PRAY: Thank God for some good news!

Christian Voice Supports Campaign For Pakistani Christian

1

A campaign to save a Pakistani Christian sentenced to death for blasphemy is being supported by Christian Voice. Asia Bibi has been in prison for eighteen months after her Muslim neighbours fell out with her and accused her of blasphemy when, in response to being asked what Jesus had done for her, she asked them what Mohammed had ever done for them. That was just the culmination of a campaign of intimidation against Asia Bibi.

Stephen Green of Christian Voice and Wilson Chowdry of BPCA discussing the plight of Christians in Pakistan, opposite 10 Downing Street.

We supported the British Pakistani Christian Association by attending a witness for Asia Bibi on Saturday 4th December at the Pakistan High Commission at 12 noon before moving to 10 Downing Street .

Stephen Green of Christian Voice and Wilson Chowdry of BPCA discussing the plight of Christians in Pakistan, opposite 10 Downing Street.

PRAY: That President Zardawi of Pakistan will respond to international calls for Asia Bibi to be released. There is a story around that he wants to release her, but that the Supreme Court of Pakistan has blocked the move until all legal process has finished, which could take months if not years. Meanwhile this determined young woman’s children need their mother.

WRITE TO: The Pakistani High Commissioner, His Excellency Wajid Shamsul Hasan at Pakistan High Commission, 35 Lowndes Square , LONDON , SW1X 9JN . Respectfully demand that Asia Bibi be released. Ask His Excellency to forward your demand to the President of Pakistan. Address him as “Your Excellency” and end “Yours faithfully.”

Swedish Social Services Snatch Christian Homeschooler and Jail Father

2
Domenic Johansson before he was taken

On June 26, 2009, seven-year old Domenic Johansson was seated in a commercial airliner with his parents awaiting departure of a flight to India. Domenic is a dual citizen of Sweden and India.

Though the family had received no prior warning, Swedish authorities boarded the plane just minutes before take-off, forcibly removing Domenic from the custody of his parents and placing him in foster care.

Domenic is a citizen of India, and his mother’s family all live in India. However, Swedish Social Services in Domenic’s home town of Gottland decided to prevent the departure in order to force the boy to attend their school.

The family had received no preliminary warning, nor had they been forbidden from leaving the country.

Background

The tragic saga began the year before when Domenic was six and his father, Christer Johannson, contacted the Swedish Ministry of Education to inquire about home education.

Domenic as he played happily just hours before his abduction.

Social Services’ only purpose in removing Domenic from the airplane was to prevent him moving to India . Christer Johannson is Swedish, while his wife, Annie Johansson, is a citizen of India. Because they were planning on relocating to India soon to be with Annie’s family, Christer thought it would be best to homeschool Domenic during the interim. While Christians, the parents were not committed to homeschooling for ideological reasons and had even planned on putting their son in the public school once they reached India.

Annie has two Masters Degrees and is highly qualified in the task of educating her son. Moreover, homeschooling was not illegal in Sweden at the time.

When Mr. Johansson got in touch with the Swedish Ministry of Education to inquire about home education, the Ministry told him to contact his local school principal in order to obtain the necessary curriculum. However, when Mr. Johannson contacted the principal of the nearest public school, the principal refused to provide the materials, saying “You don’t have the right to educate your son and I will be taking this further.”

What the principal meant by “taking it further” was that the family would be reported to the social services. Mr. Johansson didn’t know that at the time, but he did know that the Ministry of Education, Swedish law and Europe’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights all allowed them to homeschool. So he and Annie began homeschooling Domenic.

Officials at the local school district were furious about this and called Mr. Johansson before a hearing of the Child and Education Department.

Domenic in the airplane watching as police board to put him into foster care. The Swedish Social Services’ purpose in preventing the family moving to India is because they wanted Domenic to attend the state schools in Sweden.

During the hearing Mr. Johansson explained to the judge that the family was planning on relocating to India in six weeks to be with Annie’s family.

Thus, Christer and Annie were shocked when the authorities boarded the airliner and forcibly removed Domenic.

Social Services’ only purpose in removing Domenic from the airplane was to prevent him moving to India where he would be outside the jurisdiction of the Swedish state schools. He was not truant from school at the time because it was summer break. As the Alliance Defence fund have pointed out in their application of appeal to the European Court of Human Rights:

“Domenic Johansson was removed from that plane only because social services believed it knew better than his parents what was in Domenic’s best interest; a belief steeped in discrimination against their religious and philosophical beliefs with regard to Domenic’s upbringing and education…Swedish officials removed this boy from an international flight solely to prevent his parents from moving to another nation and from educating him in a manner that is lawful in India, in Sweden, and in a majority of nations…

“please let me come home”

For the Johansson family, that was just the beginning of their troubles. After having their son snatched from their custody, the immediate problem was how to get Domenic back.

Christer and Annie were only able to visit their son, now in foster care, for one hour every five weeks.

They soon faced a new dilemma. The visits with their son were allowed to continue but only on the condition that they pretend to their son that they did not want him to come home with them and were happy for him to be in foster care. Social Services said they would lose visitation rights forever if they did not keep up the pretense.

During every visit there was always a social worker in the room, listening to every word and taking notes.

I interviewed a man who spoke to Christer last September when this was going on. He said:

“In September Christer expressed his frustration to me that social services was putting extreme pressure on him and his wife to pretend to Domenic that they don’t want him back and that they are happy with his current custodial arrangement, in order to be allowed to have continued visitation.

Christer said that the requirement to pretend to be happy with the situation was putting a great deal of additional mental and emotional stress on his family, beyond what you would expect from the situation itself.

After 18 months, the Johannsens finally exhausted all the legal appeals available to them in the Swedish court system. They hired one of the best human rights lawyers in Europe, but the judge dismissed her from the case. Last December, the Supreme Administrative Court of Sweden rejected their final appeal on the grounds that by preventing the family moving to India, the court was protecting Domenic’s “right to education.”

In Daniel Hammarberg’s shocking exposé of the Swedish social services,The Madhouse: A Critical Study of Swedish Society, Hammarberg gives alarming evidence of what happens to the mental health of children like Domenic who have been taken away from their parents. (To read excerpts from the book, click here. To get the book on Kindle, click here.) Some of victims of the Swedish Social Services, such as 13 year old Elin, have even committed suicide

After an agonizing time, Christer decided to tell his son the truth and suffer the consequences. So just last week during visitation, Domenic once again begged his father to take him home. This time, instead of lying, Christer said, “ok, let’s go.” The social workers in Sweden are unarmed so there was nothing they could do to stop him from walking out of the visitation room with Domenic.

Domenic was able to spend a beautiful day and a half with his parents and grandparents, whom he had not seen in 18 months. During this time Christer and Annie explained to Domenic the truth. They explained that they had not rejected him, that they loved him and had been fighting for his freedom for the last 18 months. They told him that whatever happened they would always love him.

“Held Hostage” by the Government

The police wasted no time. When they found out where the family was, several squad cars descended upon the Johansson home. Armed police swept in, dragging Domenic out into the unseasonably frigid temperatures without even giving him an opportunity to get his jacket. Christer was thrown into jail, charged with kidnapping his own son. He faces up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted.

Domenic loved his parents and grandparents. He had a rich and happy childhood and was well provided for by his intelligent Christian parents. However, in Sweden it is the State that is the ultimate parent. Drunk with a sense of their own omnipotence, Swedish Social Services could not let the family move to India for the simple reason that they would then no longer be able to force Domenic to attend their state schools.

“I have never in 20 years of practice seen a case more badly handled,” commented Harrold-Claaesson, a noted international human rights lawyer and president of the Nordic Committee for Human Rights. She continued:

“This family has been so traumatized that they may never recover. The Swedish government has grossly violated this family’s human rights, both under Swedish law and under the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR). Under the ECHR people have the right to leave their country. But in this case the social services took this poor little boy and prevented him from leaving with his parents. He is being held a hostage—essentially kidnapped by the Swedish government. It is an absolute embarrassment for Sweden and for every person involved in this case. Each person, from the social workers to the judges, should be ashamed of their behavior and their continuing callousness towards this family. They all must be brought to justice for their crimes against the Johansson family.”

Domenic will be released from foster care when he is 18, around the same time that Christer is scheduled to get out of prison.

Bill Bailey: As Ignorant As He Is Cowardly

16

Comedian Bill Bailey is currently staging a one-man show, Dandelion Mind, at Wyndham’s Theatre in London ‘s West End . Much of the evening, according to journalist Quentin Letts, involves attacking Christianity. A particularly distasteful skit insults Jesus Christ by ridiculing the moment when a dramatically convinced Thomas put his hand in the Lord’s side.

Mr Letts has penned a scathing review, in which he calls for evangelicals to turn up to heckle Bailey with hymns, and accuses the panel show contributor of cowardice. Christianity is a safe, soft target, but Bailey would never have the guts to insult Mohammed, says the Mail’s columnist. The same applies to homosexuality. Bill Bailey would never insult the gays. Certainly not in a theatre owned by Cameron MacKintosh,. ‘Not exactly the bravest of Berties – a distinctly predictable performance,’ Quentin Letts concludes.

Bill Bailey himself, in an article in timesonline, says he takes on multi-nationals, as if that is radical cutting-edge comedy, instead of just another soft target. He won’t lose any points among the politically-correct by mocking the theory of intelligent design either. Now if he took on the laughable idea of evolution, or took a sideswipe at abortion or feminism or sexual immorality, now that would be daring, but also a suicidal career move.

Bailey criticises those like Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross who mock the weak. ‘You have got to aim a bit higher than that,’ he says. It could be argued they don’t come much higher than Jesus Christ, but again, he is not likely to lose either his life of his livelihood picking on Christ or Christianity as he might if he took on Islam or homosexuality. That would be aiming a bit too high for Bailey. ‘You have to pick your targets,’ says the comedian. He certainly knows how to pick them to stay alive and wealthy.

Stephen Green has responded by suggesting Bill Bailey might have as much a case of ignorance as cowardice. The National Director of Christian Voice said today:

‘Quentin Letts is to be commended for sticking up for righteousness in the face of Bill Bailey’s onslaught, although his call for us to be booking seats may go unheeded as that would involve parting with money which would support the spiritually-challenged Bailey.

‘It could well be in the back of Bailey’s mind that Muslim anger could result in a burnt-out venue if he were to insult Allah or Mohammed or Islam, but that might not be the whole story.

‘Secularist minds, particularly those filled with dandelion floss, have a challenge getting up-to-speed with the threat that Islam poses in the longer term to their cherished sacred cows. They don’t know a great deal about it and they don’t really care.

‘They are stuck in a nineteenth-century time-warp where the church is deserving of a secularist onslaught because it is a strong part of the Establishment regaling the political sphere with prophetic denunciations of wickedness, arguing for Godly laws. They don’t notice that it hasn’t done that for sixty-five years.

‘In the alternative, Christian virtues are not yet totally dead in our land. Irritating Christians (very rarely Muslims) pop up from time to time objecting to Jerry Springer the Opera, or calling for chastity and fidelity in sexual relations, or saying people should work for a living, or that human life is sacred, or that God created the world. Such ideas, and such people, are obviously dangerous to secularism and they and their beliefs must be ridiculed.

‘Secularists hate Jesus with a passion, knowing he was truly the Son of God, the righteous one who had power to lay down his life and power to take it up again.

‘They really fear a world where Jesus as the Almighty Christ and Redeemer takes up the sceptre and reigns in righteousness.

‘They object to Jesus because his very existence insults their values and their lifestyle. They get what we Christians call ‘conviction of sin’. And they don’t like it one bit.

‘Secularists have a profound ignorance of Islam, whereas Christianity is all around them. Some went to Catholic schools, or to church or Sunday school, or they watched a Remembrance Day service once. Christianity is part of their social conditioning in a way Islam is not.

‘When he attacks Jesus Christ and all the Lord stands for, Bailey is railing against something he dimly understands and perceives as important and challenging to his world-view. He doesn’t understand Islam at all, and it is not important to him (yet). He has a smattering of Christianity, enough to convince his audience of his sagacity, but only enough to make a Christian pity him.

‘Bailey’s act is a tiny bit like Sir Ian McKellen ripping Leviticus pages out of the Bible on stage. That was an act of respect to Holy Scripture, not disrespect. The poor man valued the Bible enough to want it to say nothing against him and his perversion.

‘In the same way, Bailey accords respect to Jesus Christ even as he attempts to disrespect him. There is a sense in which Bill Bailey’s attacks on the person of Jesus Christ are a compliment – in the Oscar Wilde sense that the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

‘But all the same, I feel a Christian witness at Wyndham’s Theatre coming on. Any excuse for an evangelistic outreach!’

‘Gays Are Just Fine’: Trinity College Dublin

1
‘Molly Malone wheels her wheelbarrow outside Trinity College Dublin. Secular values have displaced Christian virtue in Dublin’s ancient seat of learning.’

The motion before the Trinity College Dublin University Philosophical Society on Thursday 21st October was “This House Believes That The Gay Rights Movement Has Undermined Family Values”.

Stephen Green proposed the motion with the support of four students, who all spoke well. The opposition speakers were adequate but not inspired.

But when it came to a vote, not one person apart from the proposers could be found to support the motion. Abraham would have as much trouble pleading for this seat of learning, founded by Elizabeth I, as he had trying to find ten righhteous men in Sodom. While Islam targets the universities, academia, both sides of the Irish Sea , is taking a secularist chain-saw to the Christian branch it sits on.

Text of Speech given by Stephen Green

University Philosophical Society in Trinity College, Dublin.

“This House Believes That The Gay Rights Movement Has Undermined Family Values”.

It’s a great pleasure and a privilege to be invited to debate at the University Philosophical Society here in Trinity College , Dublin . We have been thoroughly spoilt by your hospitality, which is surely not what the Apostle Paul meant when he told the Colossians:

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. ( Col 2:8)

We shall hear a lot of humanistic vain deceit from the opposition tonight. They will attempt to say that family values are all about love and acceptance, and that gay rights does not undermine those at all.

Well, I’ve encountered precious little love and acceptance from gay rights aficionados down the years, but I guess the tolerant just can’t tolerate intolerance of the tolerance of evil. And they won’t accept that some can’t accept that some things are just not acceptable.

But in any case, family values go further than love and acceptance, important as those are in any family. Family values include self-respect, self-restraint and self-denial. They include decency, modesty, chastity and fidelity. They carry with them a regard to the future, and a contract with and across the generations.

These are the opposite of the values of homosexuality, which are typified by hedonism, vanity, immorality, an obsessive permissiveness, promiscuity and a destructive individualism. As one honest homosexual wrote: ‘Promiscuity is what bonds the homosexual community together.’ Most particularly, the lack of procreative ability of a pair of homosexuals typifies their lack of care for the future.

That is partly why Jesus Christ said:

Matt. 19:4 Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh.

And being one flesh is something a pair of homosexual men or women can never do – they lack between them the complementary parts of the body required for true sexual intercourse. They are trying to solve the puzzle with only half the pieces.

I’ve got news for you – every one of us here is the result of the union of a human egg and a human sperm, and although I haven’t checked the medical books recently, they used to say that the human egg comes from a woman and the sperm from a man.

True, you will find lesbians who had children when they were heterosexual – so people can swop around – or who engage the services of a man. In my country a pair of lesbians can now jointly put themselves down as mothers on a child’s birth certificate. Can a nation last long which legislates a lie?

In the seventies a generation adopted the values of homosexuality. They decided that virginity was something to be disposed of as quickly as possible, that modesty was inhibiting, that for a woman, carrying a clutch of condoms did not mean you were a tart, that staying faithful did not matter any more.

And look at the United Kingdom today. Around a half of children are not growing up with their natural father. Respect for God and for our neighbour is at rock-bottom. Older people and women go in fear of their lives on many of our estates. A lad will be kicked to death for his mobile phone, or even just for the wrong look. Without a father, teenagers turn to the gang for their identity, young men lack self-discipline, and young women look for love in the arms of whatever boy will have them.

And just look at our culture. Who would have thought just two years and five days ago that a pair of radio presenters would have humiliated an elderly actor with sexual jokes about his grand-daughter. That is what Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross did to Andrew Sachs on 18th October 2008. We are daily growing more brutal, more coarse and more crass as a society.

The Gay Liberation Front of the seventies aimed at the abolition of the family. They hated its values. But at least they were honest. Even today, among those campaigning for gay marriage, you will find those who want to ‘transform’ it to reflect gay values. They want everyone to have open marriages, because they cannot do fidelity.

Taking various census findings and surveys of homosexual life, The Family Research Council in America found that, even with all the current pressures to have affairs and divorce, around 60% of couples married in the 60s and 70s had been able to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. Only 5% of homosexual couples had stayed together that long. 70% of couples married in the 80s were still together after 10 years, a feat achieved by a mere 14% of gays.

85% of married women and 76.5% of married men reported sexual fidelity in a study by McWhirter and Mattison. Only 4.5% of homosexual men could say the same. Other studies note the staggering levels of promiscuity amongst homosexual men. Bell and Weinberg found that 43% of white male homosexuals had sex with 500 or more partners. Paul Van de Ven et al found the same: ‘”the modal range for number of sexual partners ever [of homosexuals] was 101-500.” In addition, 10.2 percent to 15.7 percent had between 501 and 1,000 partners. A further 10.2 percent to 15.7 percent reported having had more than one thousand lifetime sexual partners.’

Thank God that there are men and women who have walked away from that lifestyle through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no sin so big he cannot forgive it, and no life so damaged he cannot transform it. Of course in today’s politically-correct world, that kind of healing work is, to borrow from a son of this city, ‘The ministry which dare not speak its name.’

McWhirter and Mattison reported that, in a study of 156 males in homosexual relationships lasting from one to thirty-seven years, only seven were monogamous, and ‘all couples with a relationship lasting more than five years have incorporated some provision for outside sexual activity in their relationships.’ According to McWhirter and Mattison, ‘most homosexual men understood sexual relations outside the relationship to be the norm and viewed adopting monogamous standards as an act of oppression.’

‘A Canadian study of homosexual men who had been in committed relationships lasting longer than one year found that only 25 percent of those interviewed reported being monogamous. According to study author Barry Adam, “Gay culture allows men to explore different…forms of relationships besides the monogamy coveted by heterosexuals.”‘

If the Opposition would find some honesty, they would admit that The Gay Rights Movement Has Undermined Family Values and they would celebrate the fact.

But they won’t, so they won’t. Will you?

(And the answer was ‘No, we won’t’)

We Are Too Soft on Islam

0

What I should really have liked to have said on BBC1’s Sunday Morning Live! (26th September 2010)

Our leaders are caught like rabbits in the headlights by Islam’s militant tendency. 9/11 and the 7th July London bombings took them unawares.

Trapped in a multicultural matrix, unassailed by truth or fact, they had to pretend that the militants were perverting Islam, when in fact they were simply, logically, working out its theology of world domination.

Concessions to Muslims

In what is supposed to be a Christian country, officials make all sorts of concessions to Islam – women-only bathing sessions at the local baths, halal food in schools and now in supermarkets, dogs banned on buses, Muslim check-out girls laying down the law on what they can and cannot pass through the scanner. Meanwhile, councils and companies, backed up by the courts, clamp down on Christians wearing crosses at work or offering to pray with patients.

I was locked up in a police cell for preaching the Christian Gospel at a homosexual event, the Mardi Gras in Cardiff in 2006. OK, the Crown Prosecutor withdrew the case, and sued South Wales Police and won, but can anyone imagine a Muslim being treated like that for anti-gay comments?

And our politicians’ bright idea to de-radicalise Islam? Throw money at the Muslim community. But because they deny the dominion theology of Islam, they have no mechanism to prevent that money ending up in Madrassahs and Mosques where the war in Iraq and our continued occupation of part of Afghanistan can be used to radicalise Muslim youth.

Despite what our politicians say, the presence of British soldiers in Afghanistan makes our streets more dangerous, not safer. We might be irritating Al Qaeda, forcing them to relocate a training base or two, but young Muslims are being radicalised right here in Britain , not over there.

Politicians ‘Islamo-friendly’

We have politicians on both sides of the Atlantic falling over themselves to be Islamo-friendly.

I was pleased in the end that Florida Pastor Jones did not go ahead with his Koran-burning, but the reaction to his idea proved his point. There was violence across the Muslim world. I feared for my Christian brethren in Pakistan , where they burn Christians, not books, and then Hilary Clinton proved how subservient politicians are to the Islamic tune by denouncing Pastor Jones at a dinner given to celebrate the Muslim Ramadan fast.

Boris Johnson, as Mayor of London, made much of his Muslim grandfather during the election campaign in 2008. Ken Livingstone had spent much of his term in office being nice to some extremely unsavoury Muslim characters. And during the election, Brian Paddick, not to be undone, said ‘ London is a better place because it has a strong Muslim community.’

Tony Blair lied about Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and '45 minutes' and poisoned the well of public trust.
Tony Blair lied about Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction and ’45 minutes’ and poisoned the well of public trust.

The religious side of this counterfeit coin is the claim that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Ex-President Bush was convinced of it. Tony Blair too saw many ‘similarities’ between the two faiths and called the Koran a ‘progressive book’. But Mr Blair took the UK into the Iraq war on a lie, helped destroy that country along with public trust and unleashed Islamic State.

The Koran is not ‘progressive’, it is a rant. As to alleged ‘similarities’, The Bible records God saying of Jesus: ‘This is my beloved Son, in him I am well pleased.’ (See Matt 3:17 & 17:5; Mark 9:7 and Luke 9:35) But the Koran reports Allah saying he has no son. It would be a beneath his dignity, he says, to become one of us. Orthodox Christian theology understands God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Koran denies the Trinity totally.

’Religion of Peace’

Tony Blair was convinced – or tried to convince us – that Islam was a ‘religion of peace’ and he and his namesake Ian, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner were at pains to stress that it was followers of a distorted form of Islam who carried out the 7/7 London bombings.

David Cameron counting moderate Syrian rebels.

Now David Cameron is singing from the same glee-sheet. He said of those critical of Islam: ‘They see no difference between real Islam and the distorted version of the extremists. They think the values of Islam can never be compatible with the values of other religions, societies or cultures.’ Politicians would be better ‘doing God’ by turning to Christ, the King of kings, than taking a chance at Islamic theology.

Rod Liddle said of the lightweight Cameron view: ‘Obviously the “Real Islam” isn’t people blowing themselves up, although a large proportion of Palestinians, Afghans and so on would argue that it is, as would one or two cadres sitting tight in their Keighley or Tipton bedsits. But ok, let’s give him that one. What about apostasy, then? The majority of Islamic states impose a penalty for giving up the religion, either through the state or sharia courts; imprisonment or death. Is this Real Islam or the “distorted version of the extremists”? It’s certainly the practice of the overwhelming majority of Islamic countries, and cleaved to by all four major schools of Islamic thought, even the comparatively liberal Hanafi.’

Britain: ‘picture is bleak’

But Cameron says rightly that the United Kingdom is less than admirable when viewed through an Islamic lens: ‘Here the picture is bleak: family breakdown, drugs, crime and incivility are part of the normal experience of modern Britain . Many British Asians see a society that hardly inspires them to integrate. Indeed, they see aspects of modern Britain which are a threat to the values they hold dear – values which we should all hold dear. Asian families and communities are incredibly strong and cohesive, and have a sense of civic responsibility which puts the rest of us to shame.’

They do, but only in the Islamic sense of wanting Islam to replace Secularism, which in the UK they wrongly identify as a form of Christianity. Muslims are not lining up to campaign for an end to abortion or no-fault divorce or legalised sodomy. They will defend their children from immoral sex education but that is the limit of their social engagement. Most Muslims hold the brutal, crass, indecent, hedonistic nation that we have become in contempt, and who can blame them?

With their population growing by immigration and fecundity – and the evidence does not support the fond notion that 2nd and 3rd generation Muslims will stop having the large families which their faith demands – their demands will grow more and more strident and politicians will grow ever more craven in the face of such a demographic bloc.

Stand up for Jesus Christ!

My answer? Christians need to stand up pretty fast for Jesus Christ, King of kings. We need to demand that our politicians place Christ at the centre of our law-making, and repeal the destructive anti-social secularist junk of the last fifty years. As part of that, we need to tell them to call time on multiculturalism and confess the King of kings of our Christian constitution. In that way we show Muslims that this is a vibrant Christian nation where Jesus Christ is Lord and stifle their ambitions of an British Islamic state.

Large sections of our establishment are already bowing the knee to Allah. If we don’t stand up for Jesus, before too long we may all be forced to join them.

Peter Tatchell – What a Hypocrite!

1

Peter Tatchell is accused of hypocrisy for his Channel 4 hatchet job on the Pope (The Trouble with the Pope) on the eve of the latter’s visit to Britain .  But what of The Trouble with the Tatchell?

Tatchell complains about the scandal of priests abusing mainly teenage boys, but he himself has argued for the elimination of ages of consent, he sees nothing wrong with adult/child sexual encounters and said in a paedophile campaigning book that it is court appearances and societal pressures that cause a victim to have anxiety over child sexual abuse, rather than the abuse itself.

Catholic writer Damian Thompson
provides compelling evidence that Peter Tatchell cannot even be trusted to report accurately on his subject, and that is even before he begins to mention the homosexual abuse scandal.

But in the campaigning book ‘Betrayal of Youth’, edited by the Vice-Chairman of the notorious Paedophile Information Exchange, and published in 1986, Tatchell wrote that children need:

‘protection against self-destroying feelings of guilt and anxiety which are so often stirred up by sexual encounters outside the ages of consent precisely because they are illicit and regarded as shameful.  It is usually this social shame, more than the sexual act itself, which harms young people.  The psychological scars of court cases and societal disapproval often remain long after the actual sexual encounter is forgotten.’ (BOY p118)

The editor of ‘Betrayal of Youth’ wrote helpfully: ‘Readers will by now be aware that all the contributors to this study agree that we should be working towards the day when when children’s rights are recognized and accepted. … The mere fact of an adult having consensual sex with a child should not of itself be construed as an abuse.’  (Middleton W in ‘Betrayal of Youth’ page 179)

In the same book, Tatchell asked: ‘What purpose does it (the age of majority) serve other than reinforcing a set of increasingly quaint, minority moral values left over from the Victorian era?’

His views don’t seem to have changed.  In 1997, Tatchell wrote to the Guardian to say: ‘Several of my friends – gay and straight, male and female – had sex with adults from the ages of nine to 13. None feel they were abused. All say it was their conscious choice and gave them great joy.’

Last year, in an article headed ‘Don’t Criminalise Young Sex‘, he wrote: ‘If sex at 14 is consensual, and no one is hurt or complains, is criminalisation in the public interest? Is it in the 14-year-old’s interest? It is fair?’

On his website, Peter Tatchell argues for a sexual consent law which accommodates the requirements of a fourteen-year-old boy he calls Lee who has been ‘having sex with boys since the age of eight and with men since he was 12.’ Lee says he ‘likes men in their 20s or 30s. They are more experienced and serious.’

Tatchell comments: ‘The age of consent laws don’t make it easy for Lee to have a stable gay relationship.’ According to Lee, and Tatchell does not bat an eyelid at this: ‘The law is stupid. If I know what I’m doing and I’m not harming anyone else, I should be allowed to have sex with who I want.’

Tatchell, who has not masked his approval of the anonymous casual  sex prevalent in the homosexual world, was even invited to a Christian event this year, the Greenbelt Festival.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today: ‘There can be no doubt that the Catholic Church did wrong and did immense damage to its reputation and to the cause of Jesus Christ with whom people inevitably identify it with, by covering up such scandals, moving priests on and failing to address the anguish of the victims.

‘As an organisation which upholds the Protestant settlement of the United Kingdom , you will not normally find Christian Voice defending the Pope.  But it is impossible to keep silent in the face of Peter Tatchell’s hypocrisy.  He is the man leading the charge against the Catholic Church for the sexual abuse perpetrated by a minority of its priests.  And yet he sees nothing wrong in adults and children having sex together as such.  He is on record speaking with no sense of criticism of 9-year-olds having sex with adults.  And even where there is abuse, he blames the stigma imposed by society and the court system for the trauma victims suffer rather than the sexual activity itself.

‘Nor does Tatchell confront the elephant in the room which is that ordinary homosexual men who fancy teenagers, as many do, have infiltrated an institution which gives them privileged access to exactly that group of targets.  Frankly, how secularist and homosexual campaigners and especially paedophilia apologists like Tatchell can keep a straight face when condemning the Catholic Church for abuses caused by their own gay ‘brothers’ is truly amazing.’

Reaction to Planned Koran Burning Proves Pastor’s Point

1

A leading Christian lobby group has said the reaction to the plans of an American pastor to hold a burning of the Koran proves his point.

The Reverend Terry Jones, whose small church is based in Gainsville , Florida , is intending to burn copies of the Koran on the 9th anniversary of 9/11.

The event will be held at his church, the Dove World Outreach Centre on Saturday, unless the Pastor calls a halt. He has promised to pray about his decision.

General David Petraeus warned that “images of the burning of a Koran would undoubtedly be used by extremists in Afghanistan – and around the world – to inflame public opinion and incite violence”. Pastor Jones has already been burned in effigy in Afghanistan .

Mr Jones himself said he has received more than 100 death threats and has started wearing a .40-calibre pistol strapped to his hip.

But Stephen Green, National Director of UK-based Christian Voice, said the General’s comments and the threats against Pastor Jones illustrate why the pastor has felt the need to take such a dramatic step.

‘I sympathise with the General’s position, even though American and British troops have no business being in Afghanistan – or Iraq – in the first place. If David Petraeus wants to know what radicalises Muslims in the West more than anything else, he need look no further than his own command of US forces in Afghanistan. Our troops are courageous and I have nothing but admiration for them, but it is not just their lives in peril as they fight a lost cause for democracy in a foreign land, our Government is putting the lives of British people at risk from terrorism at home.

‘I am also concerned about the impact of Pastor Jones’ actions on Christians in Pakistan and other Muslim countries. They are already terrorised by their Muslim neighbours. How much more will they have to put up with by becoming identified with Pastor Jones?

‘Christian Voice members would never burn a Koran. I hope that would be more out of respect for the feelings of others than out of fear.

‘Pastor Jones’ action is extreme, but he is obviously a man of courage and sometimes extreme things have to be done. I can think of nothing more extreme than going to the Cross to bear the sins of others, which was what Jesus Christ did. But if we are talking of extremists, Islam has more than its fair share of them.

‘The Koran itself commands Muslims to retaliate. A Muslim lady kindly gave me a copy of the Koran when I was helping Muslims set up a parents’ group against sex education in schools in Waltham Forest . In it I read from Sura 2:194, “And one who attacks you, attack him in like manner as he attacked you.” Agreed, we must defend our wives and families, and Jesus said “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”, but the Lord also extolled us to turn the other cheek.

‘The previous Koran verse says, “And fight them until persecution (another version says ‘tumult and oppression’, meaning resistance to Islam) is no more, and religion is for Allah.” It is hard not to build a theology of violence and global expansion on Koranic verses like that, and on the life of Mohammed himself, who went about expanding Islam at the point of the sword.

‘I was on the Jeremy Vine programme today, listening to the ultra-moderate Muslim (actually she is more of an extreme secularist) Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, call for tolerance from Muslims and plead for her religion to be regarded as one of peace. She is right that Western governments have encouraged in the past the very terrorism they now fear. But she ignores her own history and is whistling in the wind.

‘If you enter the great Islamic beacon which is Saudi Arabia with a Bible, you will soon find out about Islamic respect for sacred texts. If they find it in your luggage, customs will shred it. If they find two, you are in the cells. And it is all very well for people like Yasmin to condemn that, but it is actually happening with Islam-in-practice.

‘The majority of Muslims in the UK may well be currently peaceable and wanting to live a quiet life, but all the news we hear shows they are easily radicalised by almost anything. They are not at all impressed with infidels treading all over Iraq and Afghanistan , as I have mentioned. But it goes farther than that. A Muslim converting to Christianity is immediately a pariah and will be ostracised and attacked, because the penalty for apostasy is death. The earthly penalty for apostasy in Christianity is that we pray for the man to return. We don’t throw bricks through his window or torch his car, as has happened to Nissar Hussain in Bradford.

‘And us Christians should hang our heads in shame that for all this trouble and fear about the burning of the Koran, hardly a breath of protest was heard about the burning to death of a Pakistani Christian in March, whose wife who witnessed his death was then gang-raped by three policemen.  The Italian Foreign Ministry summoned the Pakistani envoy, but why were we not all outside the nearest Pakistani Embassy or High Commission?

‘I truly wish Christians would take the persecution of our brethren and indeed insults against our faith more seriously, although I should never want us to be screaming hatred like Muslim youth do. The threshold for tolerance in Islam is set very low indeed.  In Christianity it sometimes seems so high (on the pretext of turning the other cheek) that we tolerate anything and evil has a free hand.

‘I am also glad that Christians would never contemplate suicide (they call it “martyrdom”) missions killing innocent bystanders, as Muslim terrorists do. Sadly, you will find a significant minority of Muslims ready to express support for their brethren who flew planes into the Twin Towers , caused the London bombings or who let off bombs in crowded restaurants in Tel Aviv. In polls, 16% of young British Muslims supported suicide bombings in Israel and 24% agreed or tended to agree that the London bombings were justified. A similar percentage denied that Muslims did them at all, blaming them on the British Government.’

Pastor Jones said: ‘How much do we back down? How many times do we back down? Instead of us backing down, maybe it’s to time to stand up. Maybe it’s time to send a message to radical Islam that we will not tolerate their behaviour.’

There can be little doubt that Pastor Jones is reacting in part to the proposal to build a mosque near the Twin Towers Ground Zero site, but his concerns are wider. Significantly, Hilary Clinton upbraided him at a dinner she attended in observance of ‘Iftar’, the breaking of the daily fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Politicians on both sides of the Atlantic seem mesmerised by Islam, promoting it to the extent of fanaticism.

Stephen Green continued, ‘Anyone condemned by Hilary Clinton, who has gone so far out of her way to promote the wickedness of abortion and homosexuality across the globe, must have at least some good in them. Although I would not do what Pastor Jones is doing, I must say I could not help warming to him as soon as I heard that Hilary Clinton had condemned him.

‘But perhaps the secularist agenda that Hilary stands for explains the rise of Islam in the West. Both Pastor Jones and I live in a hedonistic, selfish, crass, idolatrous culture in its death throes. Sex has become exalted into a religion, sodomy is regarded by the elite as morally equivalent to heterosexual love and marriage, marriage vows are cast aside on a whim, children are thrown into day-care, the elderly are legally euthanased and we sacrifice our own children in abortion clinics.

‘Our elite extol everything that isn’t Christian, whether it is secularist or Hindu or Islamic. Add in their fear of Islam and their aversion to offending Muslims out of fear or because they want to be seen as “multi-cultural” and you have all the ingredients of an Islamic takeover when the population reaches around 30%, which it could do in the UK within a generation.

‘Pastor Jones is trying to raise a prophetic voice albeit in too provocative a way, but I know his church has focused on sodomy and abortion in the past. In one sense Islam is a symptom rather than the cause of the problem, and I speak as someone who opposes the building of mosques and who leads regular prayer vigils at the site of the proposed West Ham ‘megamosque’, praying against it.

‘Islam is only filling a vacuum which would not exist if Christian men stood up to be counted against the secularist evils of our day. We should be pressing the Crown Rights of King Jesus, proclaiming loud and strong that this is a Christian nation and that it needs to repent and return to Almighty God, overturning a lot of fashionable laws passed in the last fifty years along the way. Then, faced with what the Prayer Book describes as ‘Christ’s Church Militant here on Earth’, Islam won’t find a spiritual foothold in either the UK or the USA , or in any Christian country.

‘The truth is, if we don’t stand up for Jesus now, we shall find ourselves bowing the knee to Allah before very long.’

Election Leaflet Was ‘Hate Crime’

CHRISTIAN PREACHER CHARGED FOR OFFENDING GAYS

(6th September 2010) Colchester Magistrates are to hear the case of a Christian man accused of a public order offence in two weeks’ time.

Paul Shaw was charged by Essex Police with a ‘hate crime’ after an election address was distributed in Colchester calling – in very moderate language – for a review of whether sodomy and other homosexual acts should remain legal.

Two homosexual men complained to the police after the leaflet dropped through their door in south-east Colchester , leading to a completely over-the-top police search of Paul Shaw’s flat and confiscation of his diaries in June.

Mr Shaw was put in the cells, interrogated in what he describes as a ‘hostile and provoking’ interview, and then charged on 12th June with causing religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress by words or writing under Section 31 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

‘MAKE HOMOSEXUAL ACTS UNLAWFUL’

The ‘offending’ words were in an election address, distributed after Paul Shaw had stood for election as an independent at a time when he thought a new election was imminent. In a leaflet previously approved by the Returning Officer and the Royal Mail, he said:

I believe for example that homosexual and lesbian acts are immoral and that the law should reflect that; by making them unlawful as they once were; and so acting as a deterrent to such behaviour.

The concept of homophobia is nonsense and a play on words; it is not and has never been a phobia! A phobia is an un-natural fear; whereas a rejection of perverse behaviour; is a righteous godly fear; that fears to do wrong because it knows that there are consequences and punishment otherwise! This is the most pronounced example of a nation that has lost its way ..

Previous case withdrawn

However, during a preliminary hearing on Thursday 26th August, the Crown Prosecutor applied for an adjournment. This was in order, he said, to consider the implications for freedom of speech raised by the case. The Magistrate, District Judge David Cooper, readily agreed and the case was adjourned to Thursday 23rd September at 9.15am. Paul Shaw was up before the very same magistrate only a few months ago for preaching on the same subject, and Essex Police charged him then as well, leading to the CPS withdrawing the case.

PRAY the same thing happens this time. PRAY that justice is done and this attack on our historic freedom to preach the Gospel is defeated. PRAISE GOD for so much support for Paul. PLEASE continue to hold up our brother in prayer at this challenging time.

CHRISTIAN VOICE SUPPORT

Christian Voice is actively supporting Paul Shaw. We publicised his case as soon as he contacted us the day before his court appearance and immediately went down to Colchester to support him. It is just four years since Christian Voice National Director Stephen Green was arrested for a similar purported offence during the Cardiff Mardi Gras homosexual event in September 2006. He was put in the cells for four hours and charged under the Public Order Act 1986 Section 5. And in that case the same thing happened. At the committal hearing the CPS threw up their hands in horror and then withdrew the case.

Stephen Green promptly took South Wales Police to court for wrongly arrest, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution and won. South Wales Police settled out of court in a humiliation for arresting officer Inspector Alexander Chadd, head of the Force’s ‘Minorities Support Unit’.

NEXT HEARING

Christians are invited to come and support Paul Shaw at Colchester Magistrates Court, CO1 1FP on Thursday 23rd September 2010. The case is listed for 9.15am, but be prepared for it to be heard, as the August hearing was, in the afternoon.

In all, seven brethren came along to the August hearing at a moments notice to support Paul Shaw and the Gospel, so let us pray for an even bigger witness this time.
