The Supreme Court ruled this morning the UK Parliament must give its assent before the Government can trigger Article 50 and begin the process of leaving the European Union.
The verdict was arrived at by a majority of eight judges to three.
It means the Government cannot rely on the ‘prerogative powers’ of the Crown. Instead, the Court said Parliament has the duty of enacting the decision of the British people in the 23rd June Referendum.
Last November, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell made it clear the Labour Opposition will not block a clean (or ‘hard’) Brexit.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn repeated the pledge just days ago. He insisted the referendum result must be respected, with MPs being asked to support it “however difficult they might find that.”

SNP to vote against Article 50
However, the Scottish Nationalists, Plaid Cymru, the Green Party MP, the SDLP and the Liberal Democrats may well vote against the triggering of Article 50.
A majority of Scots voted to stay in the EU, but the judges ruled unanimously that neither of the devolved assemblies nor the Scottish Parliament can have any say in the terms or the process of leaving the European Union. That is an serious blow to Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP and a huge relief to Theresa May.
So in practice the Supreme Court ruling is something of a pyrrhic victory for Gina Miller, who brought the action.

Last week, Mrs May stated she would negotiate for a clean Brexit. That means the UK will leave the EU Single Market and its Customs Union.
The Government also need to invoke Article 127 of the agreement for the European Economic Area. We explain all these terms in this easy-to-read article.
EU never a Christian project
In a series of videos filmed in Europe last spring, this ministry discovered that the European Union was never a Christian project, as some have claimed. It was always intended to be a revived Roman Empire.
That meant there was a spiritual dimension to the EU project. The EU was set on a collision path with the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ the King of kings. It followed the United Kingdom was spiritually better off out of it. Economic and security blessings could follow, depending on the extent of national repentance.

Most eschatologists agree that the EU is very important during the End Times, as the final world empire, one-world government, etc. Many say the Antichrist will head the EU. Will Obama somehow head up the EU? I’m not sure what mechanism would allow this to happen, but if it does happen, you heard it here first. Has God heard the prayers of His people and allowed us to not be involved? Not everybody will follow the Antichrist, but the Bible says that many will, even so-called Christians (the luke-warm, leftists, “Jesus-was-a-socialist” types, etc) will fall for him, my reading of the Bible says, however, that only the Elect will not be deceived.
The problem is that, I think I am correct in saying, referendums are unconstitutional. They do not bind Parliament, they are only advisory. The leftist establishment will try their hardest to frustrate Brexit, they will stitch us up if they can, but it is becoming increasingly apparent to me that God has ordained this, like Trump in the USA, and the leftists’ scheming will be frustrated. Of course, we know that the one-world leftie government will come eventually, according to Bible prophecy in Revelation etc. The Western world is very split, more or less 50:50 between leftists and conservatives (small “c” in conservative, I’m not talking about the Tories (the party for rich sons of “gentlemen” to have a career in politics), with their gay “marriage” etc). The spoilt-brat leftists, with their contempt for democracy, are REALLY angry at Brexiteers and Trump-supporters, etc and would not need much persuading, imo, to kill us (I say “us”): perhaps then the guillotines that Obama ordered for the FEMA camps will be used, after the reprieve with Trump, Brexit etc has passed.
Even if you are paranoid, Mark, that does not mean they are not out to get you.
Will Obama somehow head up the EU?
Will Nigel Farage somehow head up the USA ?
No.
well, as I always say, Stephen: “don’t worry if you don’t understand eschatology, its not the end of the world”.
