One question in the Tory Party election which you won’t see asked by the mainstream media is which, if any, of the candidates is pro-life and pro-family.
Be sure news people know about it. They will be doing their best to advance pro-abortion candidates and doing down any seen as pro-life. They know it matters.
What does the Bible say?
Indeed defending innocent human life is as important to our United Kingdom as the shedding of it is to the realm of Satan. The Bible says, in Exodus 23 and verse 7:
Exod 23:7b The innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
We read in Proverbs chapter six and verses sixteen and seventeen that the Lord hates the hands, like those of the abortionists, that shed innocent blood.
The Lord evicted the Canaanites from the Promised Land because they practised ritual sodomy and child sacrifice. He later judged the people of Israel for doing the very same thing. From Psalm 106 we read that just like us, they forgot to serve the Lord:
Psa 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, 38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
MPs’ voting records

In the Christian Voice office we record how MPs vote on a range of issues.
So I am able to tell you that on 9th July 2019, both Liz Truss and Tom Tugendhat voted ‘Aye’ in the House of Commons to a measure to impose both abortion on demand and gay marriage on Northern Ireland. Rishi Sunak, Penny Mordaunt and Kemi Badenoch all abstained.
On 30th March 2022 the House voted on an amendment to the Health and Care Bill to keep Do-it-Yourself abortion permanent.

This measure was brought in during the Covid Lockdown to enable women to receive abortion pills by post. It was a temporary measure.
We should always, by the way, be suspicious of government ‘temporary measures’. They have a strange habit of sticking around.
’Pills-by-post’ open to abuse
Under this one, women did not need to see a doctor as the 1967 Abortion Act requires, they just rang up.
It was open to abuse on the time limits, women could be pressured into it by parents or a partner, there had already been complications and at least two women died. Nevertheless, the House of Commons voted on 30th March to make this temporary measure permanent.

Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss and Tom Tugendhat all abstained. Penny Mordaunt voted for it. Only Kemi Badenoch voted against, together with Suella Braverman, who was eliminated yesterday.
Candidate analysis
You may care to know that thirty-five Conservative MPs voted ‘No’ to abortion and gay-marriage in Ulster in 2019 AND to pills-by-post back in March. They included Suella and her campaign manager Steve Baker.
In fact members of this group of thirty-five pro-life MPs have been very likely to declare themselves in the leadership race for Suella, then for Kemi, then for Liz, then for Tom, then for Penny – and for Rishi, hardly at all.

It shows some MPs at least see this as a defining issue.
Sitting on the fence
Out of the five remaining candidates only Kemi Badenoch is remotely pro-life. Liz Truss and Tom Tugendhat are pro-abortion and pro-sodomy, Penny Mordaunt is pro-abortion and pro-trans. Ms Mordaunt told the House of Commons on two occasions that ‘trans-women are women’. See Sky news story here.
Meanwhile, the devout Hindu, Rishi Sunak, sits on the fence. And yes, religion is important.

How will a man who cannot understand where the UK has come from know where we should go, which is to our knees in repentance before King Jesus?
Prayer points
So pray in to this, and let us see what the Lord will do in the series of televised debates coming up over this weekend. As the word of God tells us to pray for those in authority, let us pray for those seeking it:
1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We appreciate your support – without it we can’t do our research and help inform your prayers.

Personally, I believe that none of the candidates meet the biblical definition of a godly leader. Now many Christians will jump at me accusing me of not caring where our country is heading. To those people, I will respond that the world including our country is a titanic ship that has hit an iceberg. The ship is damaged beyond repair. We should quit attempting to repair it. Christ is the only lifeboat that exists and only those who repent of their sins and put their faith in the finished work of Christ can access the lifeboat. Unfortunately, there are many fake lifeboats seeking to accommodate unrepentant sinners and falsely claiming to be lifeboats. The truth is that these fake lifeboats will sink like the titanic ship. The wicked system of this world will one day be destroyed by KING JESUS CHRIST.
Yes, yes, but the ship analogy only goes so far. In the meantime:
Jer 29:4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;
Jer 29:5 Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;
Jer 29:6 Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.
Jer 29:7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
Well done Stephen – thank you.
Is the lord trying to become tory leader? i didnt see him in the debates, fortunately we beleive in womens rights in this country and do not leave things up to a bunch of bile spewing so called men.
In return, you spew your bile against “so called” men. Do not men have equal, inalienable rights to women? Rights include that to free speech and freedom of thought. Sadly, these are under attack by the law and the secular woke activists. One chooses who to elect based one one’s values, and for those of faith the supreme values are in accordance with one’s faith. Freedom to live in accordance with and express your faith is a recognised human right to the same extent as others, despite those who seek to erode it. Respect those who disagree with you. Christ is Lord and we are all answerable to him, you and politicians included.
It was quite a silly thing for him to say in response to an article which identified a woman as the most pro-life of the candidates. Will the Lord raise up the Kemi as a Deborah for our time? Or given what could happen in two years’ time, is this a good election for her to lose? Not prophesying. Just asking!
Thank you, Stephen, a crucial analysis. A correction, though – I believe your reference is to Proverbs 6:16-17.
Indeed. Thanks. Will correct it.
Don’t forget the economic issues as well as the moral. People are not supposed to be tax slaves which is what the global elites using national leaders are always trying to turn us into and it is a form of slavery.
Jubilee is God’s way of resetting the economic slavery of the ultra rich elites which I note no one in church leadership is ever prepared to teach, (along with creation and a whole list of other off message subjects). The issue of debt cancellation is not even mentioned by politicians and to the shame of the Christian community, not raised here either.
The leadership contest is rigged so that the candidate acceptable to the banker’s will win unless there is a massive intervention by God and that would take a massive amount of repentance and turning of both christians and non believers. The church will first have to repent of the lockdown, distancing, mask of the beast wearing, not singing praises to God inside the sanctuary, and the so called abortion tainted not-vaccine, vaccine. God is shaking governments around the world so that the globalists don’t get it all their own way, so Sri Lanka is being convulsed and expect more following.
Our leaders are puppets but we can always pray that God pulls the strings of the puppet controllers and causes upsets. For me that is the best we can hope for at the moment. We are a nation under judgment, the church us under judgment and if we are to follow Jer29 then we have been exiled and are effectively in Babylon. However, look what God says through Jeremiah; settle down, plant multiply and do not decrease. Note all the marxist, anti-Christian ‘net zero’ stuff. That means decrease. That is against God’s plans for us which is to bless and increase, even through the crisis of severe judgment.
Rishi Sunak is reported to be linked via family business connections to World Economic Forum partner company promoting digital ID and social credit scoring. https://thenationalpulse.com/2022/07/16/company-founded-family-of-uk-prime-minister-frontrunner-is-wef-partner-advocating-for-china-style-digital-identities-currency/
It’s an interesting read. Infosys is Rishi’s father-in-law’s company and there are no quotes from Rishi himself. He only has a stub on the WEF website.
