It’s 30th June 2016 and the Tory Party leadership nominations have closed, whilst those in the Labour Party have only just begun. We are doing well for wildlife. So far we have a Crabb, a Fox and an Eagle standing. Well, you have to retain a sense of humour amid all this chaos.
WHO IS STANDING FOR WHAT?
Boris Johnson is not standing. His plan went awry. He expected to fight for Leave, Remain to win and to be well set up to fight for the leadership in three years’ time. On the morning after the vote before, he was like a rabbit caught in the headlights. The next Monday in the Daily Telegraph he was going all woolly and Remainy (if there is such a word).
Across the Commons chamber, conviction politician Jeremy Corbyn is fighting for his political life. As predicted in March, he campaigned for Remain, secretly hoping for Leave to win, a bit like Boris in reverse. He has now been challenged by Angela Eagle, la lesbienne célèbre.
The Conservatives in the ring have today been revealed as Stephen Crabb, Sir Liam Fox, Michael Gove, Andrea Leadsom and Theresa May. So how can we pray into this? What do we know about them apart from what the TV and papers are saying?
Well, here at Christian Voice we have been analysing the voting patterns of MPs on a variety of issues for thirty years.

SORTING OUT THE LABOUR SHAMBLES
On the Labour side, don’t expect anyone to be pro-life, pro-family or anti-sodomy. So apart from all that, Jeremy Corbyn voted against Sunday trading and against Maastrict. Angela Eagle didn’t. He has voted against euthanasia. She is for it. Mr Corbyn is for freedom of speech. Miss Eagle wants to shut people up who disagree with her and her lifestyle. He voted against Tony Blair’s Gambling Bill and Identity Cards . She towed the Blairite line.
Jeremy Corbyn voted for a referendum on the EU. Angela Eagle voted against one. Mr Corbyn voted against war in Iraq. Miss Eagle was for it and the Blair / Straw axis which lied to get it. The only positive note is that when the proposal to help the Syrian rebels with military action and further destabilise that country came from a Conservative leader (David Cameron) in 2013, Angela Eagle at last managed to join Jeremy Corbyn and vote against it.

FILLING THE CONSERVATIVE VACUUM
From votes in the 2005-2010 Parliament, we can say Stephen Crabb and Sir Liam Fox are more pro-life than Theresa May, who is more so than Michael Gove. Mr Gove is the most pro-gay. And the latter is the man who banned anything questioning evolution in schools.
Andrea Leadsom has been in the House since 2010, so let us look at the votes since then. On the positive side, all five voted against Euthanasia (Doctor Assisted Dying), but then, all five voted for military action in Syria in 2013.
Now for the differences. Stephen Crabb and Liam Fox voted against Same-Sex marriage on Third Reading, Angela Leadsom did a ‘deliberate abstain’, voting both for and against, while Theresa May and Michael Gove voted for it. Only Andrea Leadsom out of the five voted for a Referendum on the EU. Her vote (and that of Jeremy Corbyn as noted above) helped us be where we are today.
And then, of course, Sir Liam and Mrs Leadsom have been consistently for Leave, Mr Gove joined that campaign just in time whilst Stephen Crabb and Theresa May were both for Remain.

NEGOTIATIONS
The Tory candidates (I use ‘Tory’ as a shorthand – Disraeli said ‘We are all “Conservative” now; Tory men and Whig measures’) will be setting out their stalls on the EU negotiations. Unrestricted movement across the EU was a big factor in the Referendum. If that becomes a condition for remaining in the Single Market, the negotiators will need the courage to say, ‘No’. There are four main reasons why the Germans will back down: Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagon and BMW. Other countries actually manage to trade with the EU without being in the Single Market. The USA and India, to name just two.
The Tories will need to hold their nerve because there is a political elephant in the room. UKIP and Nigel Farage are not going to put their feet up now the Referendum is won. They will be watching and campaigning and planning for the next General Election, be it in 2020 or sooner.
That threat may keep the Conservatives honest and Labour realistic. But if not, if the Tories have not delivered, and if Labour do not move toward the working class, there will be a deluge of UKIP MPs elected next time, on the mandate of actually honouring the Referendum result and sticking up for the aggrieved man in the street. You heard it here first.

We trust some of that will help inform your prayers, together with these scriptures:
2Samuel 23:3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
Psalm 75:7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Isaiah 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
1Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

If you are correct about Angela being Ms Leadsom, that should rule her out from any Christian vote, as Ms is a denial of marriage, and presumably also of God & thus of deontological ethics.
I’ve done her an injustice. She is married to Ben Leadsom. I’ll correct it in the text. Thanks.
How come Fox and Gove did not vote for a Referendum but yet supported Leave? Does this imply duplicity? At least Fox did not stab his colleague Johnson in the back for apparent political advantage. Leadsom seems the best choice, if unlikeliest to win. Also supported by Suzanne Evans, leading UKIP Lady.
While praying God The Father’s Perfect Will be done in The Name of Lord Jesus Christ, there is a vital area to examine.
Look again at Liam Fox, Andrea, Steve, Teresa and Michael as regards Israel and Jerusalem. First the background.
God does not change. He has from the outset always had a non-negotiable blind test of absolute trust and obedience for His People with absolute blessings and curses (best described in Deuteronomy 28) for obedience and disobedience. Adam and Eve had phenomenal discretion but one strict limitation. They screwed up and the consequences were total.
In our day (post 1918 and certainly post 1948) the non-negotiable blind test of absolute trust and obedience is recognising that God gave the land laid out in Genesis to Abraham, Isaac, Israel and his descendants forever.
In Genesis 15:18-21, God defined the borders of the land promised to Abraham: “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites and the Jebusites.”
Any nation which blesses Israel (honours God), is blessed tangibly. Any which does not is cursed tangibly. When there is a natural disaster, oil field explosion, plane accident, terrorist attack, economic collapse it is normally easy to research that political leader/nation doing down Israel and attempting to divide the small part of the Promised Land they presently hold. It especially applies to trying to divide Jerusalem and failing to pray for the peace and prosperity of Jerusalem (Psalm 122v6).
On 13 October 2014 when well ahead in the polls, Ed Miliband led his motely crew into the House of Commons for a gesture, a non-binding Opposition motion to recognise Palestine and divide Israel and Jerusalem.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/13/mps-vote-to-recognise-palestinian-state
The Government boycotted it and only 12 mostly DUP voted against. Straight after the SNP surged in the polls and kept surging wiping Labour out in Scotland. Miliband (although Jewish) was not spared the Genesis 12v3 principle ‘I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you’.
It may be by 13 October 2014 that the Labour Party will be literally divided into two separate bitterly competing parties.
Being no respector of persons, God applies Genesis 12v3 even as regards any Israeli PM or US President (no matter how well meaning) who tried to divide Israel and Jerusalem – let alone ignore the fact God gave Abraham and his descendants through Israel lands stretching into Egypt, Syria, Saudi ‘from The Great River in Egypt to the Great River Euphrates’.
It is not widely understood that Liam Fox as Defence Minister was so concerned that William Hague as Foreign Secretary was in 2010 and 2011 running a hostile policy to Israel, that Fox (maybe recklessly, maybe boldly) ran a rival foreign policy to bless and defend Israel using a close friend. When exposed it cost him his Cabinet position, but he took it with good grace and no regrets. It may be that God wants to honour him for standing b Israel because (for whatever reason) he believes it is right.
Make no mistake the next British PM will be tested over Israel as will every nation. The Psalm 83 War (prophecied 3000 years ago or nearly 500 years before Daniel and Ezekiel) has never happened: combination of invaders of Israel and motivation total genocide. Those who stand with Israel will be blessed and others cursed tangibly.
This will be spiritually as well as financially/economically.
It is implied in Psalm 83 Israel’s lands expand (to Abraham inheritance) in the terrifying counter-attack which God delivers.
It may be that a parallel war will be won by faithful Christians whichever land they are in, if they stand with Israel.
Now the other four candidates are members of Conservative friends of Israel but this group stands for dividing God’s land of Israel for the bogus ‘two state solution’ and false peace. The children of Ishmail and Esau were told to live East of this land promised to Abraham where they would be blessed (and indeed where all the big oil fields were found).
Andrea Leadsom is pro-Israel but in 2007 still thought part of present state of Israel had to be given to the Palestinians (of which the most famous was Goliath !)
Ditto Steve Crabb, although he has very genuine hostility to Hezbollah and Hamas, and hopes for some nicer Palestinian leaders to show up.
Gove and Teresa May are much harder to find any clear information on but so far they have stood by the Two State Solution which divides God’s lands.
Now only God knows who can change (if people pray) and who will make the right call on Israel (in the way Churchill did in the summer 1940 to fight on).
Nonetheless as people pray before the first secret ballot on Tuesday which will eliminate at least one of the five, (and another three could also withdraw if their support is feeble), Liam Fox for whatever reason has risked all for Israel once.
May God’s Perfect Will be done as regards the next Conservative Party Leader and Prime Minister in The Name of Lord Jesus Christ.
BTW in Parliament at PMQ early this year for the first time ever David Cameron described Israel and Jerusalem as illegally occupied territories. He expected to be Prime Minister until 2019/2020 and to leave at a time of his choosing. How did that work out ? Genesis 12v 3 is God’s command for foreign policy.
Hi Jonathan, what you said was very true except for one point. The Philistine Goliath and those who today call themselves Palestinians have nothing in common except that they were both invaders of Israel.
The Philistines were of Greek origin, coming from the Islands of the Aegean Sea to Invade Israel, and they settled in a narrow strip along the Mediterranean coast. They were Israel’s arch enemies for a long time, constantly fighting against them. They no longer exist.
In 135AD the Roman Emperor Hadrian subdued the Second Great Jewish Revolt against Roman Occupation, led by Simon bar Kochba. He massacred many Jews and expelled many more and renamed the land ‘Syrian Palestina’ in order to de-Judaise it and to insult the Jews by naming it after the Philistines. He also re-named Jerusalem ‘Aelia Capitolina’.
There has always been a Jewish presence in the Land of Israel. Jews have lived there uninterrupted for 3,600 years, since Joshua took them into their Promised Inheritance. The Jewish Patriarchs had lived there four centuries before that, buying property such as the site we know as the Cave of the Partiarchs in Hebron, as a burial place for Sarah, Abraham Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob/Israel and Leah. Israel’s King David bought the hill on which his son Solomon later built the first Temple and which we know today as Temple Mount.
Over the centuries, there has been a steady trickle of returning Jews, but most began to return in the mid 1800s. There was a Jewish majority in Jerusalem at this time, and thriving communities in Hebron and elsewhere. Therefore, by 1948, there were already well established Jewish communities, towns and villages. Tel Aviv was founded from scratch in 1909. Most of the land available for purchase from the absentee Muslim Landowners had already been purchasd by the Jews before 1948
The ‘Palestinians’ are Arabs. They originally come from Arabia. The Muslim Caliphs invaded and conquered the region in the 7th Century, (after the death of Muhammad) including the other countries of the Middle East and North Africa which were at that time under the control of the Byzantine Empire, and therefore ‘Christian’. A succession of other Islamic Entities ruled the land over the next 1300 years,( except for the 100 year rule of the Crusaders, in the 12th Century), the last of these being the Turkish Ottoman Empire, who occupied the region from 1517-1917.
There are a few Palestinians who claim to be able to trace their ancestry back to the age of the Caliphs, but most have come from the surrounding Countries, such as Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, over the past 100 years, indeed many have come after the State of Israel was declared, particularly the Egyptians who occupied the Gaza Strip from 1949-67. The Jordanians occupied Judea and Samaria (re-naming the area the West Bank) during the same time.
Throughout the successive Islamic Occupations, the once prosperous and fertile Land of Israel had deteriorated into a desert wasteland. There were malarial swamps few trees and few inhabitants. But once the Jews began to come home in significant numbers, and started to work the land God had promised them, this changed. The desert did indeed start to ‘blossom like a rose’, and the once arid soil became fertile again, just as God had promised.
Some Arabs migrated to Israel in order to take advantage of the prosperity that was being created by the homecoming Jews throughout the 19th and early 20th Centuries. Some came to live in the Land to claim it for Islam, in protest at the increased Jewish presence.
There is no such thing as an indigenous Palestinian people and there has never been an independent Palestinian State. This concept is an invention for the purpose of demonising Israel, with accusations that Israel has stolen and is occupying Palestinian land. In fact, under the British Mandate period (1920-48), the people known as ‘Palestinians’ were the Jews. The Arabs in the early Mandate period called themselves Southern Syrian Arabs, as this territory was in the Southern Syrian region of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans were Turkish, not Arab. They joined forces with Germany in WW1 and were subsequently defeated and expelled out of the Holy Land by the British in 1917. The Ottoman Empire was subsequently dissolved. Under the terms of the San Remo Conference of 1920, when the Principle Allied Powers met to discuss what to do with the former Ottoman Territories, Britain was given a Mandate to re-establish a homeland for the Jewish People in their historical and Biblical Territory. The Palestine Mandate included all of present day Jordan as well as present day Israel. However, Britain betrayed the Jews, giving 77 percent of Palestine to the Hashemites of Arabia. In essence, Jordan is the Palestinian State.
All that needs to be done is for somebody to point out to ISIS that all the land between the Nile and the Euphrates was promised to the Jews by God, as proved by the evidence of the Bible. That’s easy, then.
But they have got to share it with the Ishmaelites. No great problem, I’m sure.
Stephen Crabb is a committed Christian and a supporter of “Care” and been denounced by the gay lobby as homophobic. Although he voted remain he has expressed the importance of carrying out the referendum wishes of the British People. The last time the Tory Party had a serving P.M resign mid-term, in 1990, it was the “dark horse”, John Major, who came through win. Perhaps this will happen again and Stephen will be the surprise winner. With a name like Stephen and with coming from Wales he must be a decent chap.
Hi
a committed Christian I am assuming you mean a Born again Christian this being the case they would not stand for political election – Mr Crabb may well be a committed religious person – there is no comparison between a Born again Christian and todays so called Christian – The Holy Bible tells you this read between the front and back covers for the truth
It might be helpful if you were to make a Biblical case that Christians should not stand for political election, in other words, that they should leave running the nations of the world to unbelievers and followers of Antichrist religions and philosophies, instead of just declaring it to be so. I suggest you start with Exodus 18:21; 2Sam 23:3; Psalm 149:5-9; Prov 29:2; Jer 18:7-10; Dan 7:18,22,27; Matt 6:33; Luke 19:11-27; Romans 13:1-4; 2Cor 10:3-5; 1Tim 2:1-4;
Why ? This doesn’t seem to make sense.
What about kings, more or less Christian from their coronations, more or less running countries ?
Crabb has, today, stated that homosexuality is not sinful – he is an apostate.
The Conservative leadership contest..
You mention that Andrea Leadsom voted against the Third reading of Same Sex Marriage, however, according to The Christian Institute they differ on this as below :
Abstained deliberately on the vote for Third Reading of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill
Abstained deliberately on the vote for Second Reading of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill
We await your comment.
Hi Jason, yes, she voted against and then for it, going through each lobby in turn. I have amended the article above. The website you mention carries no analysis of the candidates as we have attempted (albeith with that glitch) and they published nothing taking a position on the European Union for the Referendum either. So you can have ‘sticks neck out and occasionally slips up’ or ‘sits on the fence keeping a low profile’, I guess.
As the Daily Telegraph are for Andrea Leadsom – she is getting more attention.
Rather surprisingly Wiki included this : Leadsom was one of five MPs to abstain from the Government’s Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill by voting in both lobbies.[17] Leadsom had earlier said she found the wording of the legislation “unacceptable”, and that voting no reflected the views of “so many” of her constituents, who felt that the bill was “deeply wrong”,[18] but ultimately chose to abstain, saying “I find myself genuinely torn… I cannot vote against a measure that would mean so much to the minority of homosexual couples for whom marriage is the ultimate recognition for their genuine feelings for each other. Yet nor can I vote for a measure that risks centuries of faith-based belief in marriage.”
Sadly she halted between two opinions. Would she be prepared to review or just leave things as they are! It is stated that her religion is Anglicanism, but it means very little these days just as Theresa May was the daughter of a Vicar. It seems that out of the five candidates that Sir Liam Fox has the best moral record.
However, we can not really expect the current parliamentarians to just look at Liam Fox of having the better moral record as their final option. One thing is heartening though, we have noticed that prayer has been made by our churches that we may have a ‘good Prime Minister’ raised up and a turning back to God.
As Michael Gove supports Satan by promoting his EVONONSENSE – aided an abetted by such luminaries as Hawking, Dawkins and Attenbrough – and also Satan’s same sex perversions i rather think Christians should make a point of campaigning for him to be sidelined off into obscurity at the next election.
Not if Christians mustn’t stand for parliament anyway, There is no point then in campaigning against non-Christians. Somebody must fill the seats, unless you want them to stay empty, and that would be anarchy,
Most biologists do go along with the theory of evolution, and to condemn David Attenborough as supporting Satan because he does so seems to me to be taking things a bit far. He probably doesn’t even believe in Satan.
2 interesting maxims (imo):
1. don’t vote, it only encourages them
2. whoever you vote for, the government gets in!
Vive la revolucion!!
Seriously, imo, all this politics, although important, is not as important as winning souls. Jesus may be coming soon, but its going to get bad, esp if the pre-Trib Rapture proponents are wrong!
Work whilst we have the light, for darkness is coming when no-one can work! He that wins souls is wise!
ps don’t worry if you don’t understand eschatology, its not the end of the world
