A Christian nursery worker is claiming unfair dismissal after losing her job because she said she told a lesbian colleague the Bible regards the practice of homosexuality as a sin.
Sarah Mbuyi said she made the comments only after being pressed on her beliefs by a colleague who initiated the conversation at Newpark Childcare in Highbury, north London, in January.
But the colleague gave her employers an different story and Sarah Mbuyi was called to an internal disciplinary hearing. The nursery directors instantly dismissed her for gross misconduct.
Mbuyi, who is claiming unfair dismissal on grounds of religious discrimination, said: “When I said ‘No, God does not condone the practice of homosexuality, but does love you and says you should come to Him as you are’, [her colleague] became emotional and went off to report me to my manager.”
She is being supported by the Christian Legal Centre. The story broke just days after the Prime Minister had urged Christians to ‘more evangelism’ and ‘to improve both the spiritual, physical and moral state of our country.’
Andrea Williams, the Christian Legal Centre’s director, said the government had “seriously let down” Christians and criticised David Cameron for attempting to “mould Christianity to his political agenda”. Mrs Williams said if the prime minister was “serious in his support for Christianity”, he would intervene in the case.
She went on: “Sharing Biblical truths out of genuine love and concern for colleagues is being outlawed in the workplace by a dominating cultural correctness.”
The story illustrates that the ‘acceptance’ and ‘tolerance’ demanded by homosexuals is not extended to their opponents.
They said they just wanted to be left alone to get on with their lives in private – unitl they achieved that.
Then they said they just wanted to be tolerated as a minority – unitl they achieved that.
They said they just wanted to be accepted as who they were by psychiatrists – unitl they achieved that.
Then they said they just wanted to be treated the same as everyone else in employment – unitl they achieved that.
Then they said they just wanted equal access to goods and services – unitl they achieved that.
They said they just wanted their disordered relationships to be recognised by the state – unitl they achieved that.
Then they said they just wanted to be married – unitl they achieved that.
Now we have the spectacle of Christians being hounded out of their jobs for expressing the Gospel upon which this nation is founded, or forced to act against their conscience. A ‘hate-crime’ law is operating clandestinely, clamping down on freedom of speech and freedom of expression.
And alongside the revelation that sharing a Biblical view in response to a question is ‘gross misconduct’, is not one of the most disturbing aspects of this case that a lesbian is working in a children’s nursery and no-one bats an eyelid?
Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

The Archbishop of Canterbury has tod us that we must repent of homophobia. The Anglican Church is considering what to do about delinquent priests who get ‘married ‘ to gay partners and has said civil partnerships are a good thing because there are some Christian gay couples are celibate and who don’t want gay marriage. The church says it is upholding Biblical teaching but one wonders for how long. They continue meanwhile their ‘facilitated discussions’ on the nature of marriage and on homosexuality.
It will be interesting to see is the ABC comes out in support of this lady Sarah Mbuyi, or whether he will agree that homosexuality is sin. Or whether David Cameron will support her. It will be an indication of exactly what they believe.
The Archbishop appears to have his wires crossed. Why should anybody want to repent of ‘homophobia’? Who is afraid of men? homosexuality has nothing to do with homophobia, it has to do with wrong and rebellious behaviour and in many cases with a spirit of sexual lust. So why should anybody want to repent of naming a state of mind and spirit which is wrong on all accounts. So – by my declaration that homosexuals should undergo healing, repenting in some cases and in a very, very few cases deliverance I am actually sinning?
Have we not got these ideas and notions in a very puzzling topsy turvy mode ? Puzzling to those who believe in righteousness.
What are we supposed to be repenting of? And what does the Bishop think he may be doing about this priestly marriage? Perhaps somebody can tell me how and why we need to tell GOD what to do; >> because that is what it is – repenting of righteousness! HOW IN THE NAME OF GOD DID WE REACH SUCH A CONFUSED STATE? >>>> POSSIBLY BECAUSE GOD IS NO LONGER IN CHARGE ? HAVE WE DEMOTED HIM?
Sister Anna
May i assure you GOD is STILL in charge .
if you recall scripture not only does HE declare that HE does not change but HE WILL use us either as vessels of honour or dishonour .
As i tell people i wish to be used by HIM as a flower pot NOT a chamber pot .
as it is written ” it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of ALMIGHTY GOD ”
Keep trusting in HIM and never get weary of doing good for their is no law against that
brother Stephen
Can I suggest that as many as possible write( as I have done today) to the Directors of this outfit condemning their outrageous decision. Further detailed information – for those seeking clarification and the background- can be found @ the website of Christian Concern. It would be great if we could give Sarah some support( apart from praying for her and the situation); does anyone have an address for her church so letters can be left with her Minister?
I have collected dozens of discrimination cases against Christians and Christianity over the last few years. Most concerning homosexuality or particular homosexuals who often set the Christians up and cause them to loose their jobs or businesses or be fined, but some are also concerning Muslims, who also like to cause trouble. So much for the Prime Minister saying Christians should stand up for their faith. Some might call that hypocrisy! He should not promote homosexual indoctrination if he wants the country’s morals to be improved!
But when Muslims speak against homosexuality- their freedom to express their religious beliefs are upheld:
The Equality and Human Rights Commissioner, Sir Trevor Phillips, in the Times, February 26th 2006 was quoted as saying: “non-Muslims must also accept the right of imams to denounce homosexuality in a way that many would find offensive……One point of Britishness is that people can say what they like about the way we should live, however absurd, however unpopular it is…That’s why freedom of expression — including Muslim leaders’ right to say they think homosexuality is harmful — is absolutely precious.”
The Government is afraid to criticize Islam – But Christianity is fair game.
Your point about the imams is a very good one.
