A Tory MP has proposed a new law that would oblige schools and third-party sex educators to disclose sex education lesson plans and materials to parents.
The Telegraph reports that Miriam Cates MP has introduced a “Sex Education Transparency” private members’ Bill.
Mrs Cates has warned that sex education lessons have become a “wild west”. She is proposing the legislation to create a legal duty for English schools to share materials used in relationships and sex education lessons with parents.
The legislation would also prevent schools from using unpublished materials if they are produced by a third-party provider.

It comes after a 47-year-old mum, Clare Page, lost a legal battle to see the sex education lesson plan used at her daughter’s school, even though the Education Secretary wrote to all schools in England telling them to disclose such lessons. Judge Sophie Buckley acknowledged Gillian Keegan’s letter only to ignore it. She ruled that the commercial interests of the third-party sex education provider outweighed the public interest in forcing the school to release the lesson plan under freedom of information laws.
Hence Miriam Cates’ Bill. However, firstly, without Government time the Bill stands no chance of becoming law. Its Second Reading might not even happen this year. Secondly, the Bill defines ‘publish’ as merely available to ministers and the media for a fee. True transparency demands all sex education material be openly and freely published to all. What do the sex educators have to hide? As our Lord said:
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Trans Guidance ‘political disaster’
In a separate development, the Telegraph reports that a long-awaited draft government guidance on whether children can ‘self identify’ as the opposite sex at school has been denounced as a ‘political disaster’.
Education Secretary Gillian Keegan’s draft guidance would allow children to adopt false pronouns if their parents agree. That would not only be weak, be damaging to children, put pressure on parents to ‘conform’ to trans ideology, and be an abrogation of the duty of care all adults should have for children, but fly in the face of scripture. The Bible says,
Gen 1:27 And God created Adam in his image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Isa 29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
A spokesperson for the Prime Minister said: ‘Children should not be influenced by the personal views of teachers when discussing transgender issues.’
Just to be clear, “transgenderism” has no place in children’s education . There should be no discussion of “transgenderism” in schools at all.
We may be certain trans activists will respond to Ms Keegan’s forthcoming consultation to argue that it is up to children themselves whether they want to tell their parents about embarking on a self-destructive path.
Clearly, it is the ideology driving them. They care nothing for the children involved. The Bible says:

College investigated for Student identifying as cat
A school identified as Rye College is being investigated by the Department for Education (DfE) after a teacher called a pupil’s views despicable during a row over another allegedly identifying as a cat.
According the Telegraph, children at the school in East Sussex were reprimanded last week for refusing to accept their classmate’s decision to self-identify as a cat.
The children were told they would be reported to a senior leader after their teacher said they had “really upset” the fellow pupil by telling her: “You’re a girl.”
In the meantime, Christian Voice contacted a number of unrelated Schools all in England and Wales for a comment on the subject, but they are yet to respond.
It has emerged that students in British schools are now allowed to identify as dinosaurs, horses, or even a moon. However, teachers have been warned by the government to treat these incidents as safeguarding issues. However, the warnings lack teeth.
Downing Street has said that head teachers should intervene to stop children identifying as moons, cats, or other “neo-genders”. But yet again, this is not a statutory requirement, merely advice and ‘guidance’.
The Bible says,

Restore sanity!
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says he is deeply concerned about the content of sex education being taught to some pupils. He emphasised: ‘it is vital the right safeguards are in place.’
In March 2023, Mr Sunak pledged to put forward a review of statutory guidance on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), in light of the “safeguarding scandal” of inappropriate materials being used in schools.
We acknowledge the Prime Minister’s declared effort to prioritise these safeguarding issues and restore sanity. However, we must say that it is not enough and shows the government have lost control of education and the whole LGBT debate.
Ministers and teachers are adults and should prevent unbiblical matters like “gender identity”, “gender reassignment”, “same-sex relationships” from intruding into children’s minds if they are to grow up as well-balanced individuals and if society itself is not to destroy itself.
The Bible says,

We thank God for this step by Mr Sunak and his ministers and MPs, but must continue to pray without ceasing for our leaders to repent for God’s institution of the family to be honoured and for our children to be protected. Pray also for Clare Page and her family to be emboldened and strengthened.

Well, transgenderism had better be discussed because it does exist in the minds of those who influence children. Our children will need to be forearmed and ready to give a reason why it is insane.
I have just finished some supply teaching, what shocks me is that most of the teachers do not see anything wrong with RSE and the whole pro-gay/trans agenda. Few of them appear to be able to think about what this may do to children. It is as if teachers will teach whatever they are paid to teach, which possibly explains why schools get very defensive and dismissive when parents dare to challenge the RSE agenda. It is the whole compliance issue that we had with lockdowns, most people cannot think through what they are being told to do so they just comply.
It is essential that parents complain and protest about RSE – and get your church leader to do this too, instead of just buddying up to local schools and refusing to challenge the anti-family agenda.
Just come back from attending London gay pride, making a Christian stand against the degradation of this and RSE agenda. Whilst this may not fit in with this article about RSE, the two are linked. We got the usual hatred, abuse and derision from the apparently loving pride people. At one point I had leaflets grabbed from me which sent me flying onto the pavement. So much for the love. The truth is that people locked into this destructive lifestyle are nearly always unhappy, unfulfilled, full of self loathing, hateful and often very abusive to anyone who disagrees with them and to God and Jesus. I got the impression that there were less people there. Unfortunately a similar number of sponsors, who should be ashamed of themselves but less spectators.
Just to add some more thoughts having come back from the London gay pride witness with some fellow street preachers and witnessers. I did two mini video interviews with two people, sympathetic to what Christianity stands for. The second man (Henry) said he was making a film for a project on spirituality and he filmed me as he asked me questions which I explained like why I was there, what my faith meant to me, how Jesus helped me through difficult times and temptation. Henry told me he struggles in an area of his life so at the end we prayed and I prayed blessing and success on his video project in the name of Jesus. The Lord brings all sorts of people to us at these events.
I wonder if the preaching that was done which was very direct, will lead to the pride events stopping because satan’s people know that we preach the full gospel to thousands of people – and get this – all the people parade past our stand, they stop, hurl abuse, but they have to listen. So they hear the gospel of repentance and peace no matter what and they would never hear it unless they paraded past us and unless we were there. God wins which ever way you look at it. Our small band of 20-30 people might just stop this thing. God works like this.
