This is the first in what should end up as a series of videos on YouTube looking at Britain’s membership of the European Union from a Christian, Biblical standpoint.

We ask should the UK stay or leave and look at the matter of unity versus sovereignty.

There is more on the Queen’s Coronation Service here.

This link backs up the points about the European Commission.

  1. Impressively presented. But “this Christian United Kingdom” ? You can’t really base this description on words spoken at a ceremony in 1953. This is currently one of the least Christian countries in Europe, along with the Czech Republic, whereas our respective neighbours, Ireland and Slovakia, are amongst the most Christian countries. But so what ? The Queen is still Head of the Commonwealth, made up of largely non-Christian countries. Both the European Union and the Commonwealth are quasi-political quasi-unions made up of countries which benefit from membership for all sorts of reasons. They are not quasi-archbishoprics, anxious to exclude heretical dioceses.

:Looking far back in the past to minor kingdoms in the Levant is unlikely to be helpful. If Stephen had been advising King Alfred and his successors, he would have told them to make sure Wessex and Mercia and other parts of the island always stayed separate at any cost. And keep well away from Rome !

    • ‘You can’t really base this description on words spoken at a ceremony in 1953.’ Oh yes you can. It was an Act of Parliament. King Alfred first codified his laws on the laws of God and unified England under God. He paved the way for Edgar to be anointed by Archbishop Dunstan and crowned ‘king of all England’ in 973.

  2. Then you have nothing to worry about. Britain will remain a Christian country,at least until the Queen dies. All you need do is concentrate on ensuring that similar wording is used in future coronation services.
