21 Exposing Western promotion of evil in Africa & the Caribbean
Christian Voice is known for the quality of its research, but God must have the glory, because so often he leads us straight to the required information. An aptitude for detail helps as well. So it was that Stephen discovered the spiritual war Satan is waging against righteousness in Africa and the Caribbean.
Numerous Western foundations, from George Soros’s Open Society to the Ford Foundation, Hewlett-Packard, even the UK-based heiress of the Tetra-pak fortune, Sigrid Rausing, are financing NGO’s in the developing world set up to promote the legalisation of fashionable Western evils like abortion, homosexuality, feminism and ‘comprehensive sexuality education’. Also pouring in money are Western governments. Prominent among them are the UK, through its aid programmes, USAID, depending on which colour of president is in office, Ireland, the EU and the Scandinavian nations.
The Lord revealed there is not one pro-abortion or pro-homosexual group in Africa which is locally-funded. Every single one depends on Western money. More research is needed here, if the Lord releases the funding.
Matt 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
22 Christian Voice in Kenya and Uganda
In August 2009 Stephen was preparing for marriage to Judith, a Kenyan lady he met in Slough in 2008. During their marriage preparations in Kenya he still found time to speak to meetings of pastors in the East African nation, alerting them to the money pouring in to local NGOs from Western governments and foundations to corrupt young people and spread immorality.
Many Kenyans aspire to be like the UK, but the pastors were shocked to learn that a quarter of all pregnancies end in abortion, that half of the children born in Britain grow up without their natural father, and that London can see 100,000 homosexuals, led by senior politicians, openly flaunting their depravity through its streets.
They are astonished that every major city now has a ‘gay pride’ parade in which senior police officers routinely take part, while five-year-olds are being taught in schools that homosexual acts and even ‘changing gender’ are normal and natural.
23 Witness at UNFPA Summit
Back in Kenya in August 2011, Stephen and Judith flew to Entebbe then on to Kampala, invited in to the Uganda Parliament to brief MPs about the threats to morality from Western foundations and their money. Stephen encouraged the MPs to stand firm in the face of pressure from Western governments to legalise what God hates.
During 2019 we had published articles on an LGBT funding meeting held in Kenya. We had also identified how the West was financing a push to legalise and provide abortions in Africa, with the UK providing 90% of the cost of the illegal abortions Maria Stopes International was carrying out in Kenya alone.
When the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) organised a ‘summit’ in Nairobi in November 2019 it was a God-given opportunity to stand for righteousness. Scandinavian nations were to the fore in funding the event, banging the drum for immoral Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across the developing world.
So it was that in November 2019 our National Director and his wife travelled to Nairobi to stand against this Western-funded wickedness.
We were praying before we arrived, and in response the Lord had already raised up local Christians and opened doors for us to network and to speak. He arranged our accommodation, the local printing of high-quality pro-life leaflets and even inspired the US Embassy to bring a group of nations together to denounce the summit in a press conference.
After that event, a Kenyan MP invited Judy and Stephen into Parliament. Meanwhile, we gave out thousands of leaflets to delegates attending the Summit. They knew we were there and this stronghold of Satan was discomfited by our actions.
2Chron 20:12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
24 The LORD moves in Nairobi
During 2020 and 2021 our team in Kenya reformed as ‘Kenya Christian Voice’ with a new committee. They brought all their government returns up to date and are now fully functional.
Under their Chairman, Apostle Zakaria Odongo, they undertook a prayer walk in 2021 to the Parliament and then to the offices of abortion provider Planned Parenthood (IPPF). Astonishingly, IPPF’s main Africa office is in a country where abortion is illegal. The team intended to pray against its legalisation right there at Satan’s stronghold.
Once again, the Lord moved in power. IPPF stated the location of their Nairobi office on their website. But when the team reached the venue, a security guard told them the NGO had moved. He even disclosed the new address. The prayer team went to the new office, only to find IPPF packing up to go on the move again.
With all the coming and going, Apostle Zakaria and the Committee were invited in to preach the Gospel and the humanity of the child in the womb, made in the image of God. If they had organised the prayer walk a day earlier the opportunity would not have arisen. A day later and the office would have been empty. They were there on just the right day. ‘Lord, how do you DO that?’
25 Christian Voice Affiliates
It is not just Kenya. All over Africa Western money is flooding into local NGO’s campaigning for evil. Clearly there is a need for local Christians to be made aware of the scale of the challenge and to be given the tools we have developed down the years to enable them to confront the evil and put a stop to it.
Thus it was that in 2021 we appointed an Overseas Development Manager. The Lord is now using Christopher Adegoke as opportunities arise to establish overseas affiliates. By the grace of God, Chris has:
1 Found a group of concerned Christian academics and lawyers raised up by God in Nigeria and formed them into a committee.
2 Helped them apply to the Nigerian Government to register the CV affiliate as a recognised NGO.
3 Begun to work with a contact in Uganda and others in Burundi, Botswana and St Lucia to establish our work there.
4 Been liaising with the Kenya affiliate to see if we can hold a conference in 2023.
In 2022, immediately after the Commonwealth Games, British diver Tom Daley announced a campaign to use sports to promote sodomy and transgenderism throughout the African and Caribbean nations of the Commonwealth. His campaign is our opportunity. We found each country’s Games Committee openly stated on the Commonwealth Games website. Its personnel are therefore open to prayer and lobbying from their countrymen. We have started a petition against the Daley campaign. The Lord is using it to bring believers alongside us with whom we can work to further this work overseas to the glory of God.
