More than seven months after the event, Ealing Council have decided to prosecute me for Day 1 of February’s Buffer Zone Challenge.
The Challenge involved a witness over five days, from Monday 6th February to Friday 10th February 2023, within the five Public Spaces Protection Order ‘Safe Zones’ local authorities in England had set up around commercial abortion facilities in their areas.
The five were, in order, Ealing, Twickenham, Bournemouth, Manchester and Birmingham. The final four went off without incident. In Bournemouth, outside British Pregnancy Advisory Services (BPAS), the police attended and heard the Gospel.
I am to appear for a preliminary hearing at 10am at Uxbridge Magistrates Court, Harefield Road, UB8 1PQ, on 17th October 2023.
‘I did something!
The charge sheet reads:
‘On 6th February 2023, you did something you were prohibited from doing in an area which is within the Mattock Lane Safe Zone Public Spaces Protection Order outside the MSI Reproductive Choices Clinic in that you:
‘a) Protested by engaging in an act of disapproval or attempted act of act of disapproval with respect to issues related to abortion services, by written means in that you were holding a large sign displaying the text ‘Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed me (sic) reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb’
‘b) Had text displayed on a large sign namely ‘‘Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed me (sic) reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb’ relating directly or indirectly to the termination of pregnancy.
‘Contrary to Section 67 (1) (a) Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.’
Bible on trial
Make no mistake, the Bible itself will be on trial in this case which is an assault on Christian freedom.
King Charles took his oath on the King James Bible at his coronation on 6th May, but he would not be allowed to read from it outside Marie Stopes in Ealing.
PRAY: that God is glorified. Praise the Lord that a lawyer has already read a verse from the Bible (even if he or she couldn’t quote it properly.)

Every time Isobel Vaughan-Spruce gets a summons and a court date, they withdraw the charge – so maybe the same will happen to you? However, you may well succeed where Isobel has failed – and get your day in court!
May the Lord of hosts be with you! May the Lord God Almighty be your right hand! May he make you his signet ring, his rod of justice to shame the people who have done this. May he lift his face to shine upon you!
I believe the Lord himself will fight this battle with you – it is possible that the anti-God, anti-family, anti-creation, anti-freedom elites are in a state of collapse. I pray that your court hearing will be another hammer blow to the forces of satan. I pray God will fill you with boldness and wisdom, wisdom so profound the lawyers will be dumbfounded.
Please do tell us how it goes – I am only sad that I am unable to be there.

No doubt these persecutors and oh so noble prosecutors don their best Sunday clothes and parade in the front pews of their local church – sucking up to the vicar and parading their devout Christianity to the congregation. “Oh look at me!” as they waft a tenner or two into the collection plate making sure that everyone can see it. What hypocrites – they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves – but shame went out of fashion years ago.
May the Holy Spirit give you special unction and protection tomorrow, Stephen, and enable you to make a strong witness. You are helping to secure the protection of the next generation. Your opposition should be confronted in their consciences and I pray that they will be. I pray for a good outcome of this case. It is a lonely stance you are taking but you are not alone. It is essential to keep up the fight. BPAS is trying to deny the fact that foetuses at a certain stage of growth have a nervous system and therefore will feel pain.
May God vindicate you, Stephen. May He bring good out of your ordeal and bless you Thank you for what you do in His name.
