If male voice choirs have got to take women for the sake of equality, it would be just as logical to legislate that string quartets should contain two cellos (or a cello and a double bass) to avoid the soprano and alto instruments being in a majority.
The trouble with the suggestions is :
a) the new string quartets would not be able to play the string quartet repertoire.
b ) the new choir would not be able to sing the male voice choir repertoire.
c) the whole damn thing is absurd.
