Christian Voice to Support Parents at Kent Primary School

A Christian group has vowed to support parents at a primary school in Kent which has subjected children to homosexual propaganda.

Parents were incensed when their children were left ‘confused and worried’ after a school assembly at Bromstone Primary School in Broadstairs , Kent was used to promote homosexuality to the sound of Elton John recordings.

Parents were not even consulted about the subject or content of the assembly, and said the content left their children afraid to show affection to each other in case that might give rise to sexual taunts from bullies.

But the prayer and lobby group Christian Voice is now intending to contact the parents and support them in their fight to keep homosexual propaganda out of Bromstone school. Earlier this year, the group helped set up an action group in Waltham Forest after two primary schools, George Tomlinson and Jenny Hammond in Leytonstone, taught children about homosexuality against the expressed wishes of the parents.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said: ‘Homosexual propaganda is growing in primary schools. It is always presented as a means to counteract so-called ‘homophobic bullying’, but such teaching actually increases name calling and taunts of ‘gay’ and ‘lezzie’ as it gives bullies an extra weapon they may not have thought of. The experience of the parents at Bromstone Primary, who say the children are now afraid to cuddle each other, bears this out.

‘Such teaching is highly inappropriate, and has been likened elsewhere to school sexual abuse. Indeed, if children were taught positive images of homosexuality in any other context, we should regard it as grooming for sex.

‘The fact that parents were not consulted shows that the head, Nigel Utton, knew what he was doing would not be supported by the parents of the children for whom he acts in loco parentis. He abused his position of trust and knew from the start he was in the wrong.

‘The content was not about “relationships and liking people” as Mr Utton maintained. It was shameless promotion of a form of behaviour most parents find deviant and distasteful.

‘We shall be making contact with the parents with the intention of getting an action group going. Parents everywhere now need to be on their guard. They have a God-given duty to protect their children from harm. We shall do all we can to help them.’

Christians Stand by Parents at Leytonstone School

Christians are supporting parents at a primary school in Leytonstone which last month subjected children to homosexual propaganda.

Around 30 parents kept their children off school when George Tomlinson primary school in Vernon Road, Leytonstone, used books promoting homosexuality in February, which homosexual activists have decided is ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender History Month.’

Christian Voice members gave out leaflets entitled ‘Say no to school sexual abuse’ to parents at the school gate this morning. The leaflets explained how ‘relationships’ teaching promoting homosexuality can damage children and increase playground bullying. They urged parents to protect their children from damaging influences.

Christian Voice also pledged in the leaflets to support any parents who are taken to court for keeping their children away from school, and promised to help with setting up meetings.

There was huge support for the Christians from the parents, who at times were queuing up for leaflets. Only a small group of well-spoken white parents took issue with the exercise, claiming it was inappropriate.

The school head was also angry that Christians should come and support parents, and called the police. However, the police decided it was wise not to interfere with the freedom of speech and freedom of assembly of those giving out the leaflets.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice said afterwards: ‘It ws good to make contact with parents who are deeply concerned that their children are at risk of sexual abuse in school. We shall be building on the contacts made to raise more awareness of a problem which appears to be growing in our schools.

‘With compulsory sex education gathering pace, and homosexuality being promoted in the classroom, parents will need to be on their guard. They have a God-given duty to protect their children from harm. We shall do all we can to help them.’

Parents revolt over gay lessons at George Tomlinson School in Waltham Forest

0

Parents have taken their children out of school rather than allow them to face a week of homosexual propaganda.
The parents, many of them Muslims, may now be taken to court for truancy after governors at George Tomlinson Primary School in Waltham Forest, East London, decided to include material promoting homosexual partnerships. More than 30 children were kept away from books such as King and King, in which a prince ‘marries’ another prince and Tango Makes Three about homosexual penguins.
A Christian website reports spot fines, the imposition of parenting contracts and court action could follow any breach of rules which limit that absence to 19 days a year.
Pervez Latif, 41, whose children Saleh, ten, and Abdur-Rahim, nine, attend the school, said Christian and Muslim parents objected to ‘Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender History Month’.
‘We as parents did not receive any guidance that this was going to happen,’ he told reporterers. ‘There was just a newsletter mentioning the week and that certain themes would be taught.
‘I didn’t want my children to be learning about this. I wrote a letter to the chairman of the governors explaining that I would be taking my children out of school and he wrote back saying that there was no other option.
‘If I am faced with court action, then I will just explain that these are my views. It was also very difficult explaining to my nine- and ten-year-old boys why they were being removed from school.
‘I found it difficult to explain topics such as homosexual relationships at such a young age.’
Sarah Saeed, 40, took her eight-year-old daughter out of school during the week.
She said: ‘It is not an appropriate age for the children to be learning such matters. We have our own way of explaining things to them and they should not be subjected to this.
‘I was aware they were going to be learning about homosexual relationships through stories.
‘If the council takes action against me I will tell them that I told the school beforehand I would be taking my child away if they did not change their policy.
‘She has a 100 per cent attendance record otherwise. This is the only time and this is the only choice I had.’
Parents have the legal right to withdraw their children from religious education and sex education lessons – apart from science lessons in which biological reproduction forms part of the national curriculum.
A spokesman for Waltham Forest Council said: ‘As part of the borough’s policy of promoting tolerance in our schools, children are taught that everyone in our society is of equal value.
‘At George Tomlinson, parents were invited to meet with teachers and governors several weeks ago to discuss what work would be taking place throughout the national LGBT History Month and how this work would be delivered.
‘Regrettably, some parents chose to remove their children from school. The council does not condone any unauthorised absence from school and action has been taken.’ The children will be regarded as truants.
Norman Wells, director of the Family Education Trust, said: ‘It is a fundamental principle of education law that children must be educated in accordance with the wishes of their parents.
‘It is outrageous for a school or local authority to think it can ride roughshod over parents and impose lessons upon children that arouse such widespread concerns.
‘The only action that needs to be taken is to offer an apology to the parents concerned.’
Teachers at one secondary school in the arae have launched a homosexual version of Romeo and Juliet called Romeo and Julian.

PRAY: Thank God that there are parents who know that children are their responsibility to bring up, not the State’s to corrupt by the imposition of secularist views. May Christian parents be just as forthright as the Muslims when it happens in their children’s school. Pray for LEA church schools to resist homosexual propaganda in ‘relationships education’, pray for independent Christian schools to remain free of Government interference, and pray for home-schooling parents you know.

Kent Police ‘Undermining Families’ in Gay Essay Stunt

A national Police Force is today accused of undermining families by inviting children as young as twelve to write an essay on homosexuality behind their parents’ backs.

Kent Police are holding a competition for secondary school children – even under 14s – to write with the title ‘All Different, Same Respect’ about what ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Month’ ‘means to them’, with a £25 prize.

The stunt is timed to coincide with Kent County Council’s sponsorship of February as ‘LGBT month’. The three age categories are 18+, 15-17, and under 14. The age of consent for sex is 16.

Kent Police Deputy Chief Constable Adrian Leppard said: ‘As part of the national Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) history month we have run a competition for local secondary students to write a short essay of up to 200 words or use pictures to explain what “All different, same respect” means to them. This competition compliments (he means ‘complements’ – CV) work already being done in schools around diversity, through the national curriculum.’

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘We have sadly grown used to sex educators trying to corrupt children, but now the police are doing it as well. There is no suggestion on the Kent Police website that the young children they are asking to enter should seek their parents’ approval. It is all being done behind the parents’ backs. And as a large number will be under the age of consent, some as young as 12, it is a monstrous exercise in nothing less than child sexual abuse.

‘Children of that age do not need to be told that homosexuality is acceptable. Some may be going through a phase where they experience crushes towards older people of the same sex. To convince them that such desires indicate an adult homosexual orientation is a disgraceful betrayal of adult responsibility, made even worse when it is authority figures such as the police doing it.

‘Parents should also demand to know what exactly is “being done” in their child’s school “around diversity”, as the national curriculum makes no provision for the promotion of homosexuality. Parents also have the right to withdraw their children from sex education, another technicality which the police are blithely ignoring.

‘If a choir master or scout leader or any other adult in a position of trust managed to persuade a child to write an essay praising positive attitudes to homosexuality, he would be accused of grooming that child for sex. So why are the police involved in it, and why are they subverting family life in such a way? There is only one word to describe them, and that is “evil”.

‘Kent Chief Constable Michael Fuller needs to reflect on the words of Jesus Christ, that it is better for a man to have a millstone hung around his neck and be thrown into the sea than to cause a child to sin.

‘The competition might be headed “All Different, Same Respect”, but I have no respect for police officers who wish to corrupt young children by insinuating into them the idea that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. I spent part of this morning mucking out a cattle yard. It brought home to me that a man who indulges in sodomy cannot be paddling with both oars in the water.

‘Such men need compassion, help and deliverance from their destructive lifestyle, not more recruits. Figures released last year showed that the number of sex offenders was on the increase. Is that any surprise, with the police encouraging children into homosexuality?

”This nation desperately needs to turn away from doing evil and start doing good. It is as if Satan has taken hold of all the levers of power in what was once a God-fearing nation. May God grant the grace to allow us to repent, and may He raise up Christian men to engage in what is now, undeniably, a full-scale spiritual war.’

Army Chaplain’s New Creed: ‘We Don’t Believe’

The senior chaplain at Sandhurst military academy has dropped the Apostles’ Creed from Anglican services saying it might offend religious minorities.

The Daily Mail reported on 31st January that centuries of religious tradition have been sacrificed for the sake of political correctness.

Reverend Jonathan Gough dropped the Christian declaration of faith in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit when he took office last month.

A fellow Chaplain said it had been removed ‘to stop upsetting cadets who do not believe in God’. This is despite the fact that attendance is not compulsory. Non-believing Sandhurst cadets can and do opt out of church.

The Ministry of Defence said the Creed had been withdrawn from services at the Royal Memorial Chapel to make the church ‘more inclusive’. Figures showing how the massive increase of attendance at church by cadets from other faiths and none since the service was made more ‘inclusive’ by hiding what Christians believe have not yet been released.

A senior member of the Chapel yesterday said the decision to cut the affirmation of faith was ludicrous. He said: ‘It’s a disgrace. Nobody was told and everybody has been left shocked and angry. It’ just an attempt to be “right on”.’

The Creed, which forms part of the Morning and Evening Prayer services, found in the book of Common Prayer, begins: ‘I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried’. It goes on to speak of His Resurrection and Ascension and the Final Judgment.

Theologian Dr Richard Bell, from Nottingham University , said ‘The Creed is the central plank of the Church of England service. If you give up on that you are effectively giving up on God. Frankly I’m appalled by this decision.’

Sir Richard Dannatt, the current Chief of the General Staff, is unlikely to be enthusiastic about Mr Gough’s revisionism. Sir Richard is a practising evangelical Christian. In October 2006 , he was reported as being concerned by the decline in Christian values in Britain that had allowed Islamic extremism to flourish. He told the Daily Mail: ‘It is said we live in a post-Christian society. I think that is a great shame. The Judaic-Christian tradition has underpinned British society. It underpins the British Army.. … Threats now are not territorial but to the values of our society.’ He was uncompromising when asked about the allegiance of Muslim soldiers. ‘If they are prepared to take the Queen’s shilling they will go wherever the mission requires them to go,’ he said. That does not sound like a man who would want any Christian service watered down in the army so as not to offend those who are highly unlikely ever to hear it.

Mr Gough, 46, is a former secretary for ecumenism for Archbishop of Canterbury. His only comment has been: ‘I had many options to choose from.’ The Chaplain General, Rev David Wilkes, a Methodist, has said that non-Christian chaplains will eventually be commissioned, a move which would shake the Christian underpinning to which General Dannatt referred. At present, only Christian chaplains can be full-time and hold officer status. All others are civilian.

Former army officer Patrick Mercer MP, whose father was Bishop of Exeter, called for the Creed to be returned. Mr Mercer, who trained at Sandhurst , said: ‘If you go to an Anglican Church service you expect to hear an Anglican service. I think the good reverend is being a little too precious.’

An Army spokesman said it was common practice to alter the service from time to time, although only the General Synod of the Church of England has that power. ‘The people who are angry should sit down with Reverend Gough for a cup of tea,’ a spokesman said. He did not say whether that approach had met with success in any of the Army’s current theatres of war.

PRAY: With secularists now at war against the Church, the last thing we need is to be cut down by ‘friendly fire’. Pray that those intent on destroying the Christian foundations of our society will find no place in the Church and especially not in the Chaplaincy. Soldiers will not respect weak men who lack confidence in their beliefs. Pray that the Christian Faith will continue to underpin our armed forces.

Care Trust libels suspended Christian nurse

1

A Healthcare trust has accused a Christian nurse it suspended for offering to pray for a patient of being more committed to her faith than to her work.

Caroline Petrie, a fully-qualified and registered community nurse, had just finished changing a dressing for an elderly patient when she asked in passing if the lady would like her to pray for her.

The patient declined, but when Mrs Petrie mentioned her offer of prayer to a colleague, her work-mate grassed her to management. She was suspended for the following thought-crime offences:

‘Failing to demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to equality and diversity’ and ‘Using professional status to promote causes that are not related to health.’

Her employer, North Somerset Primary Care Trust, is now deciding whether Mrs Petire should be sacked. But now, in a new statement issued today on its WEBSITE, the Trust says:

‘There are grounds for wondering whether the nurse’s sincere faith convictions about the efficacy of intercessory prayer are more strongly held than her commitment to a pattern of practice consistent with her professional role.’

The statement is not signed or authored, but responsibility for such a disgraceful slur has to rest with the Trust’s Chief Executive Chris Born. Mr Born has been busy making podcasts for the Trust’s website. No doubt every sentiment expressed is directly related to health.

In another extraordinary development, Christian Voice has discovered that North Somerset Primary Care Trust is a client of a consultancy which specialises in training local government bodies in how to enforce equality and diversity.

If we had not wrongly put ‘healthcare’ instead of ‘care’ between ‘primary’ and ‘trust’ and put double-inverted commas around the expression, and if Gem Consultancy had not also wrongly identified their client, the link would not have come to light. So praise the Lord for using our mistake to bring this relationship into the light.

Bristol-based Gem Consulting is run by founding partners Penny Gane, who likes inclusive partnerships, equality, diversity and sustainable development and Diane Bunyan, a feminist agitator who specialises in equality, diversity and social cohesion and advised the Equal Opportunities Commission on how Local Authorities should implement something called ‘Gender Equality Duty’. It lists 29 organisations, overwhelmingly in local govcernment, as clients.

Ms Bunyan was Labour Party leader of Bristol Council before losing her seat in May 2003, and said she was looking forward to spending more time with her family. But families are irksome things, and by December 2003, she and Penny Gane had Gem Consulting up and running with using their ‘practical experience, skills and techniques to help organisations change deeply ingrained cultures and attitudes and make equality and diversity part of everyday work.’

Christianity is obviously one of those deeply ingrained cultures which obstruct equality and diversity in modern British health trusts, but ironically, if it were not for the Christian faith, with its attitude of caring for the sick, there would be precious little health care in Britain today. Almost every hospital within our shores was founded out of Christian convictions.

Gem is onloy the tip of the iceberg. The Association of Equality and Diversity practitioners represents over 200 equality and diversity consultants. God willing, there will be more on both the diversity industry and on the Christian foundations of the NHS in the February Christian Voice.

Springer Opera Rears its Ugly Head Again

A musical described as ‘filth and blasphemy’ which died on its disastrous theatre tour in 2006 is to be exhumed.

A group of students at St Andrew’s University plan to stage Jerry Springer the Opera as part of a arts festival called ‘On the Rocks’ running from 19th to 26th April.

The blasphemous show, written by militant atheist Stewart Lee, features Jesus Christ as a nappy-wearing sexual deviant, describes Mary as a victim of rape, says the birth of Jesus was because ‘the condom split’, ridicules the sacrament of holy communion, scorns the crucifixion wounds of Jesus, casts Almighty God as an ineffective old fool who needs Jerry Springer’s shoulder to cry on, and finally presents Springer as an alternative saviour. It is awash with sexual depravity and disgusting language.

When the show went on its 23-week tour in 2006, Christian campaigners leafleted the audience at virtually every show at every venue, and some venues saw leaflet campaigns weeks in advance, informing theatre-goers just how dreadful it was. As a result of the bad publicity, only one theatre ( Newcastle ) was even one-third full, every theatre lost thousands of pounds, and the producers, Avalon, lost £500,000. Stewart Lee said the show was ‘ruined’ for him. Perhaps audiences did not want to be evangelised on a night out, or perhaps they did not wish to sit through an evening of filth. Either way, the Christians gave God the glory for the wreckage.

St Andrew’s is the birthplace of the Scottish Reformation, where Patrick Hamilton, George Wishart and Henry Forrest were martyred for their faith. It was desecrated in December 2004, when students staged the blasphemous play ‘Corpus Christi’ in the Crawford Arts Theatre (now ‘the Barron’). The play casts the Lord Jesus and His disciples as a gang of homosexuals, with all the promiscuity and depravity of that lifestyle being portrayed in gutter language.

Christian Voice mounted a witness for every performance of the play. The treasurer of the Crawford resigned, a matinée was cancelled and despite the heavy security there were protests, including a proclamation of the Gospel, inside the theatre.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘St Andrew’s University is fast building a reputation as a place where civilised behaviour has been forgotten. Ridiculing Jesus Christ will bring shame and God’s judgment on what should, with all its history, be a devout seat of learning, not a cess-pit.

‘If this show cast Mohammed as a sexual deviant, it would never see the light of day. But those staging Jerry Springer the Opera are too cowardly to have a go at Islam. They know that Christians do not resort to violence and they think they will get away with it.

‘However, God is big enough to look after Himself, which should fill all concerned with fear. There are no atheists on a sinking ship; it is all, “God save us!” But if God can work miracles of deliverance, He can also bring judgment against the wicked.

‘Quite apart from the insult to the Lord Jesus Christ which staging this show is all about, it also hurts Christian people when their Lord and Saviour is ridiculed. It is just as if a member of our own family were insulted. Civilised people do not set out to insult and hurt others. But Britain is changing, and the Ross/Brand affair was just one example of the sad fact that people in our society are becoming daily more crass, more coarse and less interested in the feelings of others.

‘How long will it be before the message that it is now acceptable in Scotland to insult people’s religious beliefs reaches the terraces of Ibrox and Celtic Park?’

‘We must pray that this show is cancelled, but if it is not, may the Lord bring Christian people out on the streets of St Andrew’s to witness and evangelise at all the events during the ‘On the Rocks’ arts week. If many sinners repent and turn to Jesus Christ, some good will yet come from this evil.’

Social Services Prefer Gays to Grandparents

The decision by Edinburgh Social Services to take two small children from their grandparents and have them adopted by a pair of homosexuals was today criticised by Christian Voice.

The children, a boy aged five and his sister, who is four, were being looked after by their grandparents because their mother is a recovering drug-addict. Social Services have been accusing of waging a two-year war against the couple, who only gave up when their money ran out and they could no longer defend themselves and their grandchildren in court.

When he protested about the adoption by two homosexual men, the grandfather reports he was told, ‘You can either accept it and there’s a chance you’ll see the children twice a year, or you can take that stance and never see them again.’

He also told, he says, ‘If you were having contact and couldn’t support the children, and showing negative feelings, it wouldn’t be in their best interest for contact to take place.’

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘This heart-rending story illustrates all that is wrong with social services and with homosexual rights. In any other age or society, grandparents would be the natural people to step in and raise their children’s children. Their age would be irrelevant; it would be the closeness of the family tie that would be the defining factor.

‘But in these days of adoption targets, leaving the children with their grandparents could cost City of Edinburgh Council thousands of pounds. Anti-discrimination legislation will result in a culture among social workers more favourable to homosexuals as prospective adopters.

‘Edinburgh Social Services are apparently claiming the couple are about to drop dead, but he is only 59, and his angina need not be terminal, whilst the grandmother is only 46, and her diabetes is sure to be highly manageable. It may also be that a working-class farmhand is viewed with suspicion by white-collar social workers, or is seen as less articulate and less financially well-off than a pair of gays.

‘But money isn’t everything, and there are a number of reasons why children should not be placed with homosexuals, which would mandate an immediate reversal of the law in any reasonable, open-minded nation:

‘There is a risk that one or both of a pair of homosexuals may have an unhealthy interest in a child, especially a boy. Homosexuals are statistically highly over-represented in child sexual abuse cases,

‘Children placed with gays will have to endure playground taunts,

‘Children need a mother and a father to grow up confidently relating to both sexes,

‘They will be socially-engineered in that environment to view the homosexual lifestyle, with all its effeminacy, contempt for heterosexuality, promiscuity and reliance on pornography, as normal,

‘The inherent short-lived nature of homosexual relationships puts the children at risk of another upheaval in their lives in the near future.

‘Social Services talk about the “best interests of the children”, but it is their interests and the interests of political correctness they are more worried about. It will rarely be in the best interests of children to be ripped from a loving, competent family and it will never be in their best interests to be placed with a pair of homosexuals rather than a heterosexual couple.

‘It is hard to avoid the adjective “evil” when discussing a case of this kind, or when reading about the kind of conduct these social workers have employed. Our prayers must be with the children, for protection against harm, for their mother and their grandparents, who have had a great injustice done to them and been betrayed by those who should have helped them.’

ASA Says ‘No God’ Bus Claim Can’t Be Proved

The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled that the humanists behind the newly-launched bus advertisement which claims there is ‘probably no God’ can’t substantiate their claims.

The ad, the brainchild of comedy writer Ariane Sherine, says: ‘There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life’.

But Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, and 325 others, complained to the Advertising Standards Authority. Many complaints said the ads were offensive. Stephen Green and others said the advertisements broke the ASA’s codes on substantiation and truthfulness.

The ASA website says: ‘Advertisements are not allowed to mislead consumers. This means that advertisers must hold evidence to prove the claims they make about their products or services before an ad appears.’

But in a ruling today, the ASA says the claim that there is probably no God is ‘not capable of objective substantiation’. It says further that the complaints were not ‘serious’ or ‘widespread’ enough.

Stephen Green said today:

‘If the ASA had thought the humanists could provide evidence for their claim, they would have asked them for it. As they know there is no evidence for the proposition that ‘there is probably no God’, they have let their secularist friends off the hook. ‘I debated this issue secularists five times in recent days, and despite repeated challenges, they could not once come up with anything to back up their claim that there is ‘probably no God’.

‘The ASA have finessed Code 7.1, which says a ad should not mislead or be likely to mislead, ruling it would not be likely to mislead, so avoiding the thornier question of whether it actually does mislead. Which it does.

‘On ‘taste and decency’, the ASA have simply taken a subjective decision to dismiss the complaints of offensiveness. On planet ASA, complaints from people of faith are not given the same weight as those from secularists. But what do you expect when the ASA Council is appointed and run by a campaigning homosexual, Chris, Lord, Smith of Finsbury?’

Last year the ASA ruled against Sandown Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster when the church published an advertisement ‘The Word of God against Sodomy’ against Belfast Gay Pride. That ad, decided the ASA, breached its code on decency (offensiveness) after receiving just 4 complaints. But they allowed that the ad was a legitimate expression of opinion when dismissing another part of the complaint.

Last week, it ruled against an advertorial Christian Voice placed in the New Statesman, after just one solitary complaint that a prediction that every Government initiative on teenage sexuality would increase teenage infertility could not be substantiated.

Stephen Green commented: ‘The ASA upholds or breaks its rules as it goes along. It all depends on who is being complained about. They get 326 complaints and decide the bus ads were not causing serious or widespread offence. They get a mere 4, and say Sandown’s ad was. They allow Sandown to express an opinion, but not Christian Voice. They excuse the secularists from the need to provide evidence for a categorical statement, claiming it is impossible to do, but they say Christian Voice needs hard evidence for a future prediction, which really is impossible.

‘We always knew the ASA was just another tool of the politically-correct secularist establishment, but here’s the proof. Their ruling is a good example of how the deck is stacked against Christians today, and the Church needs to wake up to the anti-Christian agenda right now. The good news is we now know that when the secularists decided to say: “There is probably no God”, they had no reason for making that absurd claim, and time has not helped them come up with one. The bad news is that if Christians don’t start standing up for their Faith and their Saviour soon, we shall see religious liberties trampled on, and the secularists will take us further down the road to their hell on earth.’

NOTES for Editors:

The CAP Code, which the ASA administers, says:

‘SUBSTANTIATION

‘3.1 Before distributing or submitting a marketing communication for publication, marketers must hold documentary evidence to prove all claims, whether direct or implied, that are capable of objective substantiation.

‘Relevant evidence should be sent without delay if requested by the ASA or CAP. The adequacy of evidence will be judged on whether it supports both the detailed claims and the overall impression created by the marketing communication.’

DECENCY

‘5.1 Marketing communications should contain nothing that is likely to cause serious or widespread offence. …’

‘TRUTHFULNESS

‘7.1 No marketing communication should mislead, or be likely to mislead, by inaccuracy, ambiguity, exaggeration, omission or otherwise.’

Worlds Aids Day Sees UK HIV Rise

2

AFRICAN PROMISCUITY MYTH DESTROYED

Rates of HIV infection have risen in the UK amongst homosexual men while other groups have seen a decrease, the latest HIV/AIDS statistics reveal. The figures were announced just before 1st December, World AIDS Day.

The rise confirms a trend which has seen cases of the HIV retrovirus amongst homosexuals rise for eight out of the last nine years. Meanwhile, a new study has destroyed the idea that promiscuity is to blame for AIDS in Africa .

After a trough in 1988 and 1989, possibly as a result of the Government’s ‘AIDS; we’re all doomed’ tombstone advertisements, HIV infections climbed to reach a high in the early nineties. But as AIDS deaths really started to increase in the same period, a decline in HIV infections in ‘men who have sex with men’ began from the peak year of 1991.

It was as if this highly-susceptible group had really begun to modify their sexual behaviour. Meanwhile, UK cases of HIV among heterosexuals kept creeping up, both in infections acquired in the UK and those acquired elsewhere in the world. The latter was some six times that of the former, but both were rising. Infections acquired from needles in drug use have remained fairly low, and reasonably stable, over the whole period. They decreased in the late 1980s and the 1990s, then show a slight but more erratic increase in more recent years.
‘LIVING WITH HIV’ BECOMES POSSIBLE

After the introduction of Highly-Active Anti-Retroviral Treatment (HAART) in 1995, deaths from AIDS began to decline, and people gained an idea that they could successfully live with HIV. Indeed, ‘living with HIV’ became almost fashionable in the homosexual network. The success of HAART was beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Deaths from AIDS halved from 1,494 in 1996 to just 755 in 1997.

This dramatic news was announced in 1998 with the release of the Government figures, and that is precisely the point at which HIV infections began to rise. As deaths from AIDS hovered around the 500 mark for the next ten years, HIV infections in homosexuals almost doubled, from 1,384 in 1998 to 2,679 in 2007. In only one year did they actually drop, by just 4% from 2005 to 2006.

Lord McColl of Dulwich, a noted surgeon, said in the House of Lords: ‘The free availability in the United Kingdom of highly active Anti-Retroviral therapy – HAART – has made some people complacent about HIV transmission and there is now a misconception that HIV can be easily treated.’ He warned: ‘There is still no cure. Treatment is complex and it is given for life.’ (L Hans Col 1169 3/04/08)

Amongst heterosexuals, the rise in HIV infections was even more pronounced, quadrupling from 1179 in 1968 to a staggering 4743 in 2004. The overwhelming majority – around 84% of these infections – were acquired abroad, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa . Almost exactly the same proportion of HIV infections in homosexual men were reported to be acquired in the UK .

Then, in 2004, the Government changed the rules on giving HIV and AIDS treatments to asylum seekers, depriving them of HAART treatment. The Government say there is ‘no evidence’ of HIV tourism, but in every year after 2004, HIV in heterosexuals has declined, down to 3604 in 2007, while the proportion of UK-infected heterosexuals has grown to be a larger proportion of the heterosexual group. The 2007 figures showed UK infections to be 28% as the overseas contingent continued to wane.

A BLOOD-BORNE DISEASE

The precise method of contracting HIV has been a matter of fierce public debate, with the British Government desperate to downplay any suggestion that the abusive practices of homosexuals, sodomy in particular, are more likely to put those involved at greater risk. It is good, from their point of view, if HIV/AIDS is a sexually-transmitted disease which can easily be caught during normal sexual intercourse rather than a blood-borne disease which needs direct entry into the blood-stream through more specialised practices. The passage of AIDS to haemophiliacs through infected blood and to drug-users through shared infected needles strongly indicated the latter, which was inconvenient.

Oddly enough, although researchers ask for and record the sexual practice to which homosexual men attribute their HIV infection, they do not ask heterosexuals the same question. No-one knows what proportion of the latter group have contracted HIV by sodomy.

Since the earliest days, the homosexual lobby, aided by governments both sides of the Atlantic , have been keen to stress gay victimhood while avoiding the issue of gay responsibility. As Baroness Thornton told the House of Lords in April, ‘Gay men continue to be the group that is most at risk of HIV transmission in the UK’, (L Hans Col 1172 3/04/08) a comment echoed by the homosexual AIDS charity the Terrence Higgins Trust.

The prevalence of HIV and AIDS in the whole population in Africa has enabled homosexual AIDS lobbyists to claim that HIV/AIDS is spread ‘heterosexually’ in the rest of the world. In the early days it was the epidemiology establishment’s view that whole populations in the western world were at risk of an AIDS epidemic. When that failed to occur, they had to come up with reasons why HIV and AIDS were prevalent universally in the rest of the world – especially Africa – but tended to affect more specialised groups in the West.

AFRICANS ACCUSED OF PROMISCUITY

What they came up with would have been denounced as racist in any other context. However it is dressed up, it boils down to this: Black Africans are vastly more promiscuous than us civilised white folks. A paper published in the British Medical Journal in 2002 by Peter R Lamptey, President of the Family Health International AIDS Institute simply assumes HIV to be transmitted heterosexually and identifies, to his own satisfaction at any rate, the following ‘key factors in the heterosexual transmission of HIV’:

  • Frequent change of sexual partners
  • Unprotected sexual intercourse
  • Presence of sexually transmitted infections and poor access to treatment
  • Lack of male circumcision
  • Social vulnerability of women and young people
  • Economic and political instability of the community

Top of the list is promiscuity, second is a call for more condoms. The ‘factor’ of ‘frequent change of sexual partners’ is not defended, it is just declared. It is actually quite disgraceful to claim that Africans change their sexual partners ‘frequently’, compared with people in the USA , for example. The family is a much stronger institution in Africa than in the decadent west.

Lamptey singles out Botswana and speaks of ‘the disproportionate death rate among the young, sexually active, and productive segments of the population’. It is true, as he says, that ‘large numbers of young children and older adults will have to be supported by a shrinking proportion of productive adults’, but why the emphasis on ‘sexually active’? It is to reinforce his idea that rampant promiscuity in Botswana is the prime cause of HIV and AIDS.
STUDY DESTROYS MYTH OF AFRICAN PROMISCUITY

Thankfully, by the grace of God and in His timing, a study published in the United States , just days after the release of the UK statistics, has shown that this explanation for HIV infections amongst heterosexuals in Africa, that promiscuity is higher than in Europe and the USA , is totally false.

The research, carried out by Professor David P Schmitt, destroys the idea that black Africans are orders of magnitude more promiscuous than white people in the developed world. On the contrary, it shows that levels of illicit sexual activity in the four African countries considered are around half those in the Western/Northern Hemisphere. This will come as no surprise to anyone with more than a passing knowledge of African culture.

The United Kingdom had the dubious distinction of coming top of the OECD countries, with a ‘sociosexuality’ rating of 40.17. The USA scored 37.05, Germany 39.68 and France 36.67. Every country with a higher score than that of the UK , from Argentina with 40.74 to Finland , which scored a Bloomsbury-set-challenging 50.5, was white, or of white extraction.

The African countries scored much lower, led by Zimbabwe with 22.66. Botswana , the country singled out by Dr Lamptey, came in with 27.02. Ethiopia scored 26.55 and even the Democratic Republic of Congo, plagued by civil war, and widely regarded as a hot-bed of rape and fornication, was only 32.43, less than the world average. The lowest score was from Taiwan with 19.22, closely followed by Bangladesh with 19.67 and South Korea with 22.21. Zimbabwe was fourth-lowest.

The survey was carried out by interviewing over 14,000 people across 48 countries, and gives the first-ever scientific over-view of sexual-moral attitudes and practice. It is devastating for the homosexual lobby, who will have to come up with another reason why AIDS affects the whole population in Africa . Clearly, the fact that HIV is being contracted by heterosexuals here and in Africa does not mean the infection is acquired through sexual intercourse. If HIV was transmitted by sexual intercourse, the UK , with promiscuity levels almost twice those found in Africa , would be facing an HIV epidemic. We are not.

Dr Lamptey could be closer to the mark with his third point, that any ‘presence of sexually transmitted infections’ coupled with ‘poor access to treatment’ means that open sores could allow the transmission of HIV through sexual intercourse. That directs us to look at medical treatment in Africa , the subject of a BBC Panorama programme in November 2008.

Reporter Sorious Samura found that the Ugandan Ministry of Health bought 1,800 4x4s for its administrators but only 4 ambulances for Mulago hospital.  British Aid helped build a hospital where there is now no money for gloves or needles.  In Britain , STD’s are treated and running sores are very uncommon.  That is not the case in Africa , and those sores or ‘lesions’ allow the virus access to the blood-stream.

Poor health-care was also blamed in a paper in the International Journal of STD & AIDS by David Gisselquist and others published in 2002.  Gisselquist et al observe that HIV infections in Africa are not totally explained by sexual transmission. On the contrary, up to 40% of HIV infections in African adults may be associated with injections. ‘Differences in epidemic trajectories across Africa do not correspond with differences in sexual behaviour,’ the authors say, before raising ‘the possibility that HIV transmission through unsafe medical care may be an important factor in Africa ‘s HIV epidemic.’ (Int J STD AIDS 2002; 13:657-666)
HAART TREATMENT EXPENSIVE

Meanwhile, as the recession begins to bite, health managers in the UK are facing hard choices on the allocation of dwindling financial resources. Some, for example on the South Coast , are having to restrict funds for HIV treatment and care. The HAART regime costs £16,000 per patient per year. That means that someone living an extra 20 years will cost the Exchequer £320,000, or just about a third of a million pounds.

HAART treatment is now said to be costing between £400m and £half-a-billion annually. That may be an underestimate as 80,000 people in the UK are living with HIV and their numbers are currently being swelled by 6,000 net per year (around 6,500 new diagnoses less 500 AIDS deaths). 80,000 lots of £16,000 would be £1,280,000,000, or almost £1.3 billion.

The treatment and its free availability through the NHS have clearly led to the complacency that Lord McColl described. Ron Christie, of Tayside Body Positive, a homosexual HIV group, says homosexuals have ‘become blasé’ about the use of condoms. There is much evidence that a greater proportion of homosexuals are not bothering to use them with partners of different or unknown HIV status – as many as 30% a year in hotspots like London, Manchester and Brighton.

It would be tempting to say that those who have brought HIV upon themselves in such a way should pay for their treatment, but where would that principle leave smokers, or the obese, or the youth who crashes while driving too fast, or the man who irresponsibly over-reaches on a ladder? Will hospital trust managers employ private detectives to investigate how people came by their conditions or injuries? That defies the founding principle of the NHS.

Another response might be to pour yet more money into ‘safer sex’ campaigns. But those involved in the homosexual network clearly know the message, but have simply concluded they can live with HIV if they catch it. There is also evidence that some homosexuals regard HIV-positive status as a badge of honour, although those who are widely thought to ‘chase’ the bug have proved elusive.

TACKLE HIV INFECTION AT SOURCE

Perhaps it is time to tackle the problem of HIV infection at source through the criminal law. There have been a handful of successful prosecutions for ‘recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm’ through the transmission of HIV. Buggery against both men and women was totally decriminalised in 1994. As the single biggest undisputed known route of HIV infection, such a practice is not just morally repugnant but physically dangerous and financially demanding. If it were again to become a criminal offence, such a law could save lives and relieve the strain on the hard-pressed NHS. It would then be possible for Government, in a joined-up way, to dissuade people from engaging in sodomy.

A nation can live with decadence for a while, but it grows ever more expensive. HIV tourism can be dealt with at a fiscal level. But for home-grown HIV infections, the abusive practice most associated with homosexuality needs to be discouraged at every level. Sodomy is a luxury we can no longer afford.

Christians Report ‘No God’ Bus Ad to ASA

0

A newly-launched bus advertsiement which claims there is ‘probably no God’ has been reported to the ASA by a Christian group.

The ad, the brainchild of comedy writer Ariane Sherine, says: ‘There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life’.

But Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, has complained to the Advertising Standards Authority. He says the advertisments break the ASA’s codes on substantiation and truthfulness.

The ASA website says: ‘Advertisements are not allowed to mislead consumers. This means that advertisers must hold evidence to prove the claims they make about their products or services before an ad appears.’

Stephen Green said today:

‘According to one national newspaper, ‘some atheist supporters of the campaign were disappointed that the wording of the adverts did not declare categorically that God does not exist, although there were fears that this could break advertising guidelines.’

‘Well, I believe the ad breaks the Advertising Code anyway, unless the advertisers hold evidence that God probably does not exist.

‘The ASA does not just cover goods and services, it covers all advertising. The advertisers cannot hide behind the ASA’s ‘matters of opinion’ exclusion, because no person or body is named as the author of the statement. It is given as a statement of fact and that means it must be capable of substantiation if it is not to break the rules.

‘There is plenty of evidence for God, from peoples’ personal experience, to the complexity, interdependence, beauty and design of the natural world. But there is scant evidence on the other side, so I think the advertisers are really going to struggle to show their claim is not an exaggeration or inaccurate, as the ASA code puts it.

The Christian evangelist is not concerned by fears that his complaint will lead to atheists complaining about Christian adverts. ‘I am sure many of them have complained about Christian advertising already,’ he said, ‘but a statement such as “The Bible says ‘the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord'” is entirely factual. The Bible does say that. The statement “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life – no-one comes to the Father but by me,'” to take another example, is a Biblical quote, from the same Bible which is part of our Christian Constitution and upon which witnesses promise to tell the truth in Court. The Bible is, to coin a phrase, our Bible.’

Apparently, Miss Sherine saw a red London bus in June 2008 with a Bible quote and the URL of a website. When she visited the website (www.jesussaid.org.uk), she was told that non-Christians would burn in hell for all eternity.

This so upset her that, with the help of prominent atheist Professor Richard Dawkins, she started a campaign which raised a massive amount of money for what amounts to an agnostic evangelistic crusade.

Stephen Green commented: ‘Apparently, the comedy writer had a sense of humour failure when told she would burn in hell, but if she does not believe in a final judgment, what is her problem? And if she does believe in an afterlife, where does think she is going to spend it? She won’t like heaven, because God is there.’

In an peculiar twist, the ASA is currently investigating an advertorial Christian Voice placed in the New Statesman, after just one complaint that a prediction about teenage infertility could not be substantiated. The Council are due to meet to consider its officials’ recommendation to censure the ad next week.

Stephen Green concluded: ‘No matter what the ASA decides in our own case, they have to investigate and take action against the bus ads with their statement that there is probably no God, presented, as it is and always will be, without a shred of supporting evidence.’

‘TRUTHFULNESS
‘7.1 No marketing communication should mislead, or be likely to mislead, by inaccuracy, ambiguity, exaggeration, omission or otherwise.’

ASA Outlaws Prediction and Opinion

0

The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled against Christian Voice for predicting that Government initiatives on teenage sexuality, including the HPV vaccine, will increase infertility among the young.

The ASA Council said that our ‘Advertorial’ in the New Statesman earlier this year, which was headlined ‘VIOLENT CRIME – SOWING AND REAPING’, breached ASA codes on principles, substantiation and truthfulness.

The text of the advertorial said: “There is a Biblical principle that we reap what we sow. It applies to nations as well as to individuals. What politicians sow, the people reap. When politicians sow evil, the people reap misery, and the poorest reap it the worst”. The ad went on to describe the detrimental impact of government policies and legislation on society. It included the text “Now we have the disaster of teenage infertility. Every government initiative, including the HPV vaccine, will increase it, but as all the targets revolve around pregnancy, no-one in power knows how many young people they are making sterile and nobody cares”.

The officials demanded ‘robust, scientific evidence that the HPV vaccine caused infertility in teenagers’, missing the point that it is the encouragement of promiscuity in Government teen sex initiatives which spreads the infections which do the damage, not the vaccine.

Their draft ruling says: ‘the claim “Every government initiative, including the HPV vaccine, will increase it [teenage infertility]” was a statement of fact that was capable of substantiation.’ Christian Voice say requiring the substantiation of a future prediction in an opinion piece is preposterous and an infringement of freedom of speech. The ASA subsequently ruled that the British Humanist Association did not have to substantiate their contention that ‘There’s probably no God.’ (See p1)

Earlier this year, the ASA found an advertisement against Belfast Gay Pride placed by Sandown Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster to be ‘offensive’ and ‘indecent’ for declaring the Biblical position that the practice of sodomy was an abomination.

However, the ASA also said the Sandown ad was ‘representative of the beliefs of a specific group and indicative of their opinion only’, a principle they would not extend to Christian Voice.

Stephen Green said:

‘It is a good job the Advertising Standards Authority was not around when the Old Testament was written, or we would be missing half the Christmas story. The ASA would have wanted Isaiah to substantiate his claim that ‘a virgin shall conceive and shall bear a son’ (Isa 7:14). They would have demanded ‘robust, scientific evidence’ that virgins can conceive.

‘The Prophet’s predictions of the fall of Jerusalem and of Christ’s crucifixion would have gone the same way. As for nations beating swords into ploughshares, and the wolf dwelling with the lamb, the ASA would have banned him from ever repeating such an unsubstantiated claim.

‘But you don’t need to be an Old Testament prophet to see that teenage pregnancy has risen as sex education and the distribution of condoms have gathered pace.

‘Nor do you need divine powers of prediction to see that teenage infertility is now a bigger problem than teenage pregnancy. Doctors know that condoms do not 100% stop sexually-transmitted infections, yet teen sex experts are still pretending they do. It is common sense that a condom only covers part of one part of the anatomy, while the most worrying STI’s are skin-borne or carried both ways by vaginal secretions. That is why genital warts, which are caused by HPV, are on the rise, and both sexes have those for life.

‘It is simple common sense to realise that with the HPV vaccine, girls will think they are covered against everything, especially if they are on the pill as well, so promiscuity will rise and there will be even more Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia cases and even more infertility.

‘It is preposterous for the ASA to think they can outlaw Christian freedom of speech and free expression of opinion. The ASA may not like the fact that sodomy is an abomination in holy scripture, but they cannot alter it. Nor can their officials change God’s word that sex outside marriage brings judgment. The Free Presbyterian Church will not back down, and by God’s grace neither shall we. We shall keep telling Government and the teen sex industry that they are betraying young people in this country and that only God’s ways of chastity and fidelity will halt the rise in teenage pregnancies and infertility.’

Huge Christian Witness at Wales National Assembly

Around 300 Christians gathered this morning outside the National Assembly of Wales’s T Hywel building to witness against the poetry reading by Patrick Jones.

The gathering was something like ten times the number of those who turned up to hear Jones, at an half-full event hosted by LibDem Peter Black AM and Labour’s Lorraine Barrett, a National Secular Society campaigner.

Those present sang carols and hymns in the cold Cardiff air, there were also Bible readings and prayers at the solemn but good-natured event which lasted from 11.30am to 1pm.

Patrick Jones said he was ‘deeply shocked’ at the turnout. His poems allege sexual relationships between Mary Magdalene, the poet, and Jesus Christ, and call for an end to religious worship.

Assembly Members from the Conservative Party, Plaid Cymru, the Labour Party as well as Independent Trish Law opposed the reading.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said afterwards: ‘It was heartening that so many believers came out to stand up for Jesus Christ, exactly two weeks before Christmas.

‘They recognised that it is a serious matter for Jesus Christ to be insulted in the seat of government of the nation of Wales . With Wales suffering more from the recession than any other part of the UK , this is a time when we should be pleading with God for mercy and deliverance, not insulting Him.

‘Assembly Members have had massive postbags over this issue, and it was good to see so many of them coming out and identifying with those opposing the event. Something good may yet come of this, especially if the Assembly as a whole repudiates it.’

Green revealed tonight that he has now emailed new LibDem leader Kirsty Williams asking her to distance herself and her party from the event.

He said: ‘As Peter Black is the LibDem’s culture spokesman, the LibDems remain the party which insults Jesus Christ until Kirsty Williams comes out against the event. It would be good to know that she recognises that disrespect of Jesus Christ and of Christians is not civilised behaviour, and that culture for her party should not mean adoration of the crass, the coarse and the filthy.’

Patrick Jones carried out another poetry reading at Borders, a Cardiff bookshop, tonight. The store hired half-a-dozen security men in an expensive operation and the same number of police attended. Those desparate to hear the potty-mouthed poet were kept waiting for 15-20 minutes outside, which gave ample opportunity for Gospel witness to them.

There was a prayer at the T Hywel event for Patrick Jones to repent, as many atheists have before, and turn to Jesus Christ. The Christian’s prayer would be that just one of those who attended his reading at Borders find faith in Jesus Christ as well.

Poetry Reading Breaks Assembly Rules

The invitation by Welsh Assembly Members Peter Black and Lorraine Barrett to Patrick Jones to insult Jesus Christ and promote his latest book in the Assembly’s T Hywel building breaks the Assembly’s own rules, Christian Voice has discovered.

An act of Christian witness is planned to coincide with the event.

Black and Barrett invited Jones to read his ugly, indecent and blasphemous poetry after Waterstone’s cancelled a promotion evening at their Cardiff store.

But the Assembly document, ‘Guidance on use of rooms in T Hywel‘ says that:

  1.     Assembly rooms may not be used for the display of material that may or is likely to cause offence.
  2.     Meetings must be connected with the duties of the Assembly Member or NAW business.
  3.     Meetings must not be used for the promotion of any product.
  4.     Rooms cannot be used for events unrelated to the work of the NAW, for example, for conferences which would otherwise be held in a hotel or conference centre.

It is plain that the Jones event would contravene all four of those points:

  1. The reading will cause offence, indeed the prospect of it already has, even within the Assembly itself. There is an online petition which I intend to email to you which has attracted over 1500 signatures. You may have had correspondence from constituents and others.
  2. The event is not related to the Assembly duties of either Member. They have taken it upon themselves to hold the event in order to insult Christ in the name of ‘Freedom of Speech’.
  3. The event is for the promotion of a product, namely the book ‘Darkness is where the Stars are’ which is published and on sale by Cinnamon Press. The book was launched last month in a series of poetry readings, even though the main event, in Waterstone’s, was cancelled.
  4. The event would and could otherwise easily be held at another venue.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

“This is now coming down to whether the Assembly can enforce its own rules, and to what sanctions are available, against whom, in the event it can not.

“I note that it is the job of the Commission as the successor to the House Committee to enforce the guidance. However, Peter Black and Lorraine Barrett themselves make up half of the Commission, leading to a conflict of interest in the matter.

“The Chief Executive and Clerk to the Assembly, Claire Clancy, has so far failed to stand by the stark clarity of the Guidance.

“I call on Dafydd Lord Elis-Thomas to stop the event in order to avoid the embarrassment of the Assembly as a whole causing offence and breaking its own rules.”

A public act of Christian witness to be held in front of T Hywel from 11.30am on the morning of the 11th. Should the event be cancelled, we shall have something to praise the Lord Jesus Christ for! On the other hand, should the Assembly choose to insult Him, we shall praise His holy name and pray to Him for mercy. And in any event, exactly two weeks before Christmas, whatever the attitude of the National Assembly of Wales to the King of kings and Lord of lords, this is an opportunity to celebrate our Saviour’s birth!

NOTES: The poems aren’t actually much good, they hardly rhyme, they rarely scan or have rhythm, but they possibly have enough profanity and references to female genitalia to get the literati excited. One of them, to which Christians are taking the greatest exception, includes the blasphemous assertion of sex between the poet and someone Jones calls ‘mary magdelene’ (sic), and Jesus.

Other lines include: ‘All I preach is deicide’, ‘today I have become a born-again atheist’ and ‘god does not die because he was never alive.’

One poem describes God as ‘the first absent dad’ who ‘lorded it upstairs’ while Jesus was on earth.

Another strikes at the fundamental right to hold a religious view and have freedom of worship, as Jones expresses his desire for ‘prayers to be abandoned … synagogues closed, churches morphed into pound shops’ and concludes ‘then they shall all be f***ing saved.’

So Patrick wants prayers to end and for churches to be closed. He, Peter Black and Lorraine Barrett are happy to abuse freedom of speech to attack freedom of religious assembly. That cannot be right either in the National Assembly.

The Rotten Legacy of John Maynard Keynes

Alistair Darling, British Chancellor of the Exchequer, has decided to follow a Keynesian approach for getting Britain out of its financial recession.
Alistair Darling, British Chancellor of the Exchequer, has decided to follow a Keynesian approach for getting Britain out of its financial recession.

British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, has decided to follow a Keynesian approach for getting Britain out of its financial recession.

The words of Richard Nixon in 1971 are an apt description of Labour’s present approach: ‘We are all Keynesians now.’

But who was economist John Maynard Keynes and why have his views exercised such a lasting impact on Western thinking?

This post attempts to answer that question by exploring some of the lesser known facts from the life of Britain’s most influential economist.

The British economist John Maynard Keynes (1883 –1946) is known for laying the groundwork of modern economic policy. What few people realize is that his economic theories grew out of his rejection of Christianity and were bound up with the same principles governing his homosexual lifestyle.

Interventionist Approach

Known as the father of liberal economics, Keynes advocated an interventionist approach to economic policy, which urged governments to use fiscal measures to militate against the adverse effects of economic recessions, depressions and booms. He opposed the gold standard because it acted as a break on government’s capacity to control the money supply.

This interventionist model led to a paradigm shift in people’s view of government and “provided the intellectual rationale for the transformation of the State from primarily an administrator of law and order (as the Bible teaches) into an economic manager with broad, open-ended powers.” (Ken Ewert, from his article ‘In The Long Run We Are (Not) All Dead: The Anti-Christian Economics of John Maynard Keynes)

A centrepiece of Keynesian economics is that lack of private spending during hard times is compensated for by increased government spending during hard times. In keeping with what biographer Robert Skidelsky calls Keynes’ “lifelong bias against long-run thinking”, Keynes argued that when the national economy is faced with a financial recession, the government must spend its way out of the difficulties. In practice, this means Government putting forward billions of pounds on construction projects, schools, social housing and hospitals. If such projects must be financed by debt, then so be it. The theory was that supply would create demand and stimulate consumption, rather than the other way round, as classical economics maintained. This might actually have worked if it weren’t for the fact that Keynes’ advice about lack of spending during good times was never embraced with the same enthusiasm. (See Melanie Phillips’ article “Saviour or Destoryer“)

Keynes urged citizens to trust that government knew best and could manage society’s money better than the people could. However, Keynes was astute enough to recognize that governments were intrinsically untrustworthy. He attempted to overcome this dilemma by arguing that England and America should work in concert since neither one could be trusted on their own (as if one leaky bucket plus another leaky bucket equals a bucket that can hold water.)

Despite the flaws in his theory, Keynes’ General Theory of Unemployment, Interest and Money helped to convert many influential people, including those within the ecclesiastical establishment, to Labour Party socialism (what Keynes himself called “semi-socialism”.)

As one writer put it,

“The politicians loved him: he was giving academic reasons for budget deficits, price controls, and monetary inflation. The younger economists loved him, for his ideas were creating lifetime employment opportunities for them as government economic planners.

“It was Keynes, more than any man in the twentieth century, who is intellectually responsible for today’s looming bank crisis, the huge government deficits, and the eventual default of governments on their financial obligations. He gave the Western economy a large does of intellectual AIDS.”

Rejection of Christianity

John Maynard Keynes
John Maynard Keynes

Keynes (pictured left) rightly recognized the central role that worldviews play in economic thinking. For example, in an essay he wrote in 1926, titled ‘The End of Laissez-faire,’ he criticized the Christian idea, advocated in a pamphlet written by Archbishop Whately and published by the SPCK, that true liberty “is that every man should be left free to dispose of his own property, his own time, and strength, and skill, in whatever way he himself may think fit, provided he does no wrong to his neighbours…” Keynes asserted, on the other hand, that “It is not true that individuals possess a prescriptive ‘natural liberty’ in their economic activities….The battle of Socialism against unlimited private profit is being won in detail hour by hour.”

Because he rejected the Christian worldview, he also rejected the free market. This was accompanied with an almost paranoiac frenzy against thrift, which he pejoratively referred to as the “hoarding instinct.” The General Theory shows an understanding that the ‘virtue’ of saving is rooted in the Christian worldview. As he wrote: “The morals, the politics, the literature, and the religion of the age [are] joined in a grand conspiracy for the promotion of saving.” Elsewhere he argued that the “hoarding instinct” was one of the trinity of evils which also included the family and concern for the future.

Keynes recognized that the principle behind saving – deferred gratification of immediate desires – indicated a future orientation which pointed beyond oneself. He scornfully dismissed such ‘purposiveness’ with his oft-quoted words, “in the long run we are all dead.” Ken Ewert put it best when he wrote that

“The effects of the ‘short-run’ and ‘childless’ philosophy of Mr. Keynes are clear: nearly all western governments have followed the Keynesian prescription of spending and consumption, and have run large annual budget deficits for decades.”

Homosexual Lifestyle

Keynes’ rejection of the Biblical “sowing and reaping principle” in favour of immediate gratification was not limited to his economic theories, but formed the centrepiece of his deviant sexual lifestyle. Keynes was the chief homosexual protagonist of the Bloomsbury group, which has been described as a “sexual merry-go-round” by biographer Robert Skidelsky.

Arguing that homosexuality was the supreme state of existence, Keynes saw no problem indulging his obsession for little boys. In letters to his homosexual friends, Keynes urged them to go to Tunis, “where bed and boy were also not expensive”, while he himself ranged throughout the Mediterranean area searching out suitable boys for himself and his friends. He was particularly delighted to discover that the poverty and ignorance of North Africa, the Middle East, and Italy allowed him to use English shillings to purchase the bodies of children.

Keynes’ short-term philosophy of life held no place for abstinence, whether financial or sexual. He campaigned to legalize homosexuality as well as drugs and believed that a restructuring of economics was central to that process. As he put it in one of his oft-quoted remarks, “When the accumulation of wealth is no longer of high social importance, there will be great changes in the code of morals. We shall be able to rid ourselves of many pseudo-moral principles which have hag-ridden us for two hundred years….”

Defense of Eugenics

Keynes was also a strong supporter of eugenics, a point overlooked by his contemporary devotees. He declared that eugenics was “the most important, significant and, I would add, genuine branch of sociology which exists.”
He was the treasurer of the Cambridge University Eugenics Society during its early years and served on the British Eugenics Society’s board of directors in 1945.

It Wasn’t All Bad

Despite his problems, Keynes early works are scattered with some amazing economic insights. For example, his book The Economic Consequences of the Peace, opens with the following words:

“Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the Capitalist System was to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, government can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. – As the inflation proceeds and the real value of the currency fluctuates wildly from month to month, all permanent relations between debtors and creditors, which form the ultimate foundation of capitalism, become so utterly disordered as to be almost meaningless; and the process of wealth-getting degenerates into a gamble and a lottery. Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.”

Keynes asked us to imagine a government that increases the stock of money from nine million to twelve millions currency notes without other conditions being changed. “In taking this step,” writes Herbert Schlossberg summarizing Keynes’ position, “it has transferred from the public to itself an amount of resources equal to three million currency notes ‘just as successfully as if it had raised this sum in taxation.’ Who paid the inflation tax? Those who hold the original nine millions notes, because each of those notes will purchase 25 percent less than before the inflation. The inflation of currency means its depreciation in value. ‘The burden of the tax is well spread, cannot be evaded, costs nothing to collect, and falls, in a rough sort of way, in proportion to the wealth of the victim.’

Understanding that the money-printing policy he came to favour would eventually lead to economic collapse, Keynes struggled mightily to devise a way to prevent it. He settled finally on a capital levy, whereby the state despoils the creditor and confiscates part of its debt held by the citizens. Seizing the money directly by repudiating the debt seemed better than depreciating the purchasing power through inflation.

Homosexuals Rampage Over Proposition 8

1

On November 4th, California upheld traditional marriage by passing Proposition 8 by a half million votes, thus amending the state’s constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman. The homosexual community is not taking this lying down. Before the week was out, bitter gay-rights activists challenged the will of the people with litigation.

They also caused road blocks, disrupted traffic, picketed churches, abused black and Hispanic people (who voted overwhelmingly for Prop 8) and painted graffiti.

The demonstration began at a Mormon temple complex in Westwood where marchers protested at the church’s support of Proposition 8, which won 52 percent support on Tuesday 4th November for its definition of marriage as a heterosexual union. Same-sex marriage had only been allowed in California for a matter of months since a state Supreme Court decision earlier this year

Proposition 8 passed despite an advert which ran all over California on Election Day – and which surely sets a record for anti-religious bigotry. Two clean-cut young men knock at the door of a lesbian couple. The men identify themselves as Mormon missionaries. “We’re here to take away your rights,” they announce.

They snatch the women’s wedding rings off their fingers and ransack their home. When they find the couple’s marriage license, they rip it in half. “Say no to a church taking over your government,” the voiceover says. “Vote ‘no’ on Proposition 8.”

Despite such vicious attacks, California ‘s Proposition 8, which defined marriage as between one man and one woman, passed. But the assaults on churches have just begun. The Mormon Headquarters and a local Mormon temple received the fake- white- powder- in- an- envelope treatment.

Atheists are always preaching about “love” and “tolerance” but although they demand it, they can’t show it. They’re not only unloving and intolerant, many of them are downright hateful.

The Mormons, a 2% minority in California , came in for most of the pro-gay hate. Maybe the protestors regard them as a soft touch as they are so on the fringe.

Two days after the election, 2,000 homosexual protesters surrounded a Mormon temple in Los Angeles chanting “Mormon scum.” Protesters also picketed Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church , holding signs reading “Purpose-Driven Hate.” Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills was spray painted. Church members’ cars have been vandalized, and at least two Christians were assaulted.

Sherrie Derriko, a longtime Saddleback Church member and hair salon owner from Mission Viejo, said she was bothered that protesters had targeted houses of worship. As she drove by, she rolled down her window to offer some advice.

“Read the Bible. God made man and woman, and that’s what a marriage is,” she called from inside her SUV.

Derriko recounted the incident after attending services. “When we saw them out there, we thought, ‘Why are they not over this? Do they think they’re going to change anything, or are they just stirring up trouble at our church?’

Protesters even hurled racial epithets at African-Americans because African-Americans voted overwhelmingly in favour of traditional marriage.

Racist graffiti was found in the Los Angeles area, where swastikas, racial slurs and “Go Back To Africa” were spray-painted on sidewalks, houses and cars.

During a “peaceful demonstration” at the Palm Springs City Hall an elderly woman was verbally and physically assaulted. The cross she was carrying was ripped from her hands by a burly homosexual man, then thrown to the ground and trampled on.

It wasn’t just California that felt the hatred of the homosexuals. Worldnetdaily.com tells what happened in a church in Michigan:

“Worshippers at a Bible-teaching church in Lansing, Mich., were stunned Sunday when members of a pro-homosexual, pro-anarchy organization named Bash Back interrupted their service to fling propaganda and condoms around the sanctuary, drape a profane banner from the balcony and feature two lesbians making out at the pulpit.”

The protestors also shouted “Jesus was gay.” That’s just silly because God makes it clear that sodomy is an “abomination.” (Lev. 19:2) Sodomy is “against nature,” plus same-sex sex is “unseemly.” (Rom 1:26-27) And by the way, for those who don’t have a simple grasp of Christianity, Christians believe Jesus Christ is God incarnate. Saying Jesus was gay shows colossal ignorance. Hint to the “gay” movement: This is so not the way to earn the respect and support of evangelicals.

The pastor of the church that was invaded wrote the following:

“After things settled down, the blasphemy ended, the lewd props removed and the families safe from fear of additional men and women running into and past them the pastor took the stage and led the congregation in one more prayer…not for retribution, or divine justice or a celestial comeuppance… but instead that the troubled individuals who’d just defiled the Lord’s house, so full of anger and hate, would know Jesus’ love in their lives and God’s peace that exceeds human understanding.”

Clearly, Christians need to redouble their efforts to help people understand what marriage is all about. In Los Angeles, when protesters gathered at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, they chanted, “What Would Jesus say?”

As it happens, we know what Jesus did say on this subject (apart from writing the whole Bible as the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, that is):

Mar 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

Mar 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

Mar 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

And ‘one flesh’ is just what a pair of homosexuals can never be.

We can give the atheists, the abortionists, the blasphemers, the gay activists, credit for one thing; they know there is a culture war going on, they know where the battle-lines are drawn and they have dug their trenches. Christians in America are waking up. There are signs that Christians are recognising the battle-front over here too. Those Christians who join this spiritual battle are not horrid, or unloving – they are if anything more loving than those who share their faith but who don’t care to get involved. They know that civilisation itself is at stake.

As Stonewall might put it: ‘Some people are Christian, and some people believe that homosexuality is an abomination. Get over it!’

Knife Crime Battle Can’t Work

1

Following the concerns raised by Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Committee, that the battle to tackle knife crime is ‘clearly not working’, the director of a Christian group warns today that it will never work.

Stephen Green, of Christian Voice, said today that the breakdown of the family, a culture of disrespect and the way in which the value of human life in Britain has been legislated away, have left the Government with no tools to do the job.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘Divorce on demand and encouraging teenagers to view sex as no more than a recreational activity mean that half of children are growing up without a father. That has led to a lack of restraint, to anti-social behaviour, and to children looking to the peer-group instead of to their family for their identity.

‘The culture of disrespect is typified by Rowan Atkinson’s blasphemous sketch in front of the Prince of Wales on Saturday night and by the treatment of Andrew Sachs by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. People have ceased caring about each other.

‘And with the abolition of the death penalty in 1965 and the Abortion Act 1967, Parliament took the death penalty away from the guilty, by the state, where it belongs, and imposed it upon the innocent, in the family, where it does not. Both measures were against public opinion and in opposition to the laws of God.

‘It takes time for some of these things to filter through, but there is a principle of sowing and reaping which applies to nations as well as individuals. The law says a human life is worth twelve years in jail, or £250 in an abortion clinic. It all has an effect, even if one does not believe in a direct divine judgment for national sins.

‘Urgent legislation to ban divorce on demand and no-fault settlements, together with a new emphasis on chastity in sex education would start to rebuild the family and help people to understand that sex is for marriage and that promises are meant to be kept.

‘Banning abortion coupled with the reintroduction of the death penalty for murderers convicted on overwhelming evidence would send out a signal of the true worth of innocent human life, made as it is in the image of God.

‘With those measures in place, we would begin to see a reduction in knife crime and in all violent crime. We would have a more responsible and compassionate society, and that is a blessing we need urgently today. If the Government’s secularist paradigm means more to them than rebuilding society, more young people will die.’

Welsh Libdems Become the ‘Insult Jesus’ Party

The decision by Peter Black AM to invite the poet Patrick Jones to insult Jesus Christ in the National Assembly has been condemned by a Christian prayer and lobby group.

Christian Voice described the event, due to be held on 11th December, as a disgrace to the Assembly itself. The Waterstone’s bookshop in Cardiff cancelled a reading of Jones’ poetry on Wednesday night. after a 24-hour campaign by Christian Voice.

But Peter Black, who is the LibDem’s culture spokesman, has now invited Jones, a militant atheist, to read his poems, which call for an end to Christian worship, in Committee Room 24 of the Assembly at 12 noon on Thursday 11th December.

On BBC Wales yesterday afternoon, after being repeatedly challenged by Stephen Green, Black eventually agreed to extend an invitation to Christians to attend.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘This is a creepy event at which Jesus-hating AM’s can swoon over poems packed with hatred for Christianity and which speak of Mary Magdalene and the poet having sex with the Lord Jesus Christ. They will also hear Jones’ unfettered hatred of Christianity, which he has somehow managed to convince himself is indistinguishable from Islam.

‘What they will not hear is Jones insult the prophet Mohammed. He dare not do that at all, let alone in the sexual way he insults Jesus Christ, whom he sees as a soft target.

‘Christians in Wales must not take this lying down. We need to stand up for our Lord against this attack on His honour and on the Church itself by Peter Black. He has gone out of his way to show contempt for Christians in Wales . As he is the LibDem Culture Spokesman, that means insulting Jesus Christ is now official LibDem policy. The LibDems have thus become a political party Christians can no longer in conscience vote for or take any part in.’

Blasphemous Poetry Reading Cancelled After Christian Voice Campaign

0

A national bookstore chain have cancelled a reading of obscene and blasphemous poetry due to happen tonight after a 24-hour campaign by a Christian prayer and lobby group.

Waterstones were due to host Patrick Jones’ poetry reading in their Cardiff store tonight, but less than 24 hours after Christian Voice members began contacting the store and Waterstones’ top brass, the event has been pulled.

The store say it was down to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ but Kirsty Hardy , PA to Waterstone’s MD Gerry Johnson, was more honest: ‘It is not appropriate for our stores to host events that are potentially disruptive’, she told Christian Voice.

Members of the group were planning to attend the event.

Stephen Green, National Director of Christian Voice, said today:

‘This is a triumph for the Lord, not for us. The Lord had not even showed me what we should do at Waterstones, only that it should be Christlike.

‘Nor was I even praying for the event be cancelled. But I now know many were, and their prayers have been answered, by a mighty God. We have not even had to go down to the battleground, let alone fight (2Chr 20:17). Just the knowledge that we were on our way has put the fear of God into the opposition.

‘But the fact is, we were prepared to go and do something, and it is that which I believe caused Almighty God to take our prayers seriously and perform a miracle.’

‘However, Waterstones are still selling Jones’ book “Darkness is Where the Stars Are” which is full of anti-Christian rhetoric and profanity. The poems, some of which Patrick Jones sent me yesterday morning in an act of hubris, aren’t actually much good, but they possibly have enough profanity and references to female genitalia to get the literati excited. One of them included the blasphemous if not terribly original line: ‘just like mary magdelene (sic), i f****d jesus’.

‘Waterstones have said they do not ‘act as a censor’ although plainly they do have editorial discretion. I now call on them to remove Jones’ book from their stores and their website.

‘But for Waterstones to tell Patrick Jones not to turn up, especially after he was boasting about the event, is a victory and we give all the glory to Almighty God.’

In August, protests in Cardiff by Christian Voice outside Hugh James solicitors and at the South Wales Echo led to the Echo apologising for a blasphemous article by Dan O’Neill.

Stephen Green concluded: ‘Even after the abolition of the law against blasphemy, companies need to think twice before insulting Jesus Christ.

———————————

This is the text of the leaflet our members are handing out at Waterstone’s stores around the UK – and beyond!

The Waterstone’s chain is selling a book full of disgusting profanity and references to female body parts which degrades women and insults decent people of all faiths and none. In the book is the offensive and blasphemous line: ‘just like mary magdelene (sic), i f****d jesus’.

Christmas is about Jesus Christ!
We are coming up to Christmas, the annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Put simply, Waterstone’s do not deserve to make one penny piece out of Christmas if they are prepared to insult the Prince of Peace, born of a woman, the babe in the manger who was born to be the Saviour of the World.

That’s why we are calling on you to boycott Waterstone’s and buy your books somewhere else this Christmas. There are plenty of bookstores where decent people can shop.

What should Waterstone’s do?
Waterstone’s Managing Director, Gerry Johnson, says they ‘do not act as a censor’, but that is nonsense. Of course they exercise editorial control when they decide which books to stock.

So Mr Johnson bears ultimate responsibility for allowing Waterstone’s to mount a blasphemous attack on Jesus Christ.

He should take the offending book – he knows which one it is – out of his stores and off the Waterstone’s website.

He should also publicly apologise to his firm’s Christian staff, customers and shareholders and exercise better judgment in future.

We are building a culture of disrespect
You can contact Gerry Johnson at Waterstone’s, Capital Court, Capital Interchange Way, Brentford, Middlesex TW8 0EX, phone him on 020 8742 3800 or email: gerry.johnson@waterstones.com

To be charitable, we must assume that Gerry Johnson was just being thoughtless when he agreed to stock a book insulting Jesus Christ.

But for thinking people, it is obvious as well as scriptural that ‘as a man sows, so does he reap’. And that must apply to a nation as well.

A lack of respect is a major part of the problem of Britain today. Jesus Christ told a parable about an ‘unjust judge’ (and there are plenty of those around). He said the judge ‘feared not God neither regarded man’. That is a perfect description of the mentality of the United Kingdom in 2008.

We are sinking into a hell on earth
Because our politicians ‘don’t do God’ they passed laws which encourage family breakdown and discourage commitment. Their ‘condom-culture’ has pushed young people into illicit sex. Half a generation of children are now growing up with no father. Then our politicians wonder why so many young people turn to antisocial behaviour, drink, drugs, crime and more promiscuous sex.

The Abortion Act has said human life has no value, and yet those in charge cannot understand why teenagers are killing each other.

Even our politicians cannot be trusted. Those in power cannot be relied upon to tell the truth and to keep their fingers clean of corruption.

We are sinking into a hell on earth; the Nation of the Book has become the nation of the crook.

So what should we do?
The whole of the UK should turn back to God! Our only hope is in the very same Jesus Christ insulted by Waterstone’s. If God is, as we Christians say, the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth, then He is self-existent, the loving, divine intelligence behind all creation, including us. It follows that since God created us, He needed to lay down the laws by which we should live. Jesus Christ (Christ means ‘Messiah’ or ‘God’s Anointed’) said: ‘Keep the Commandments’: worship nothing and nobody except God, do not blaspheme, disrespect parents or those in authority, and do not commit murder, adultery, stealing, lying or envy.

Love came down at Christmas!
Of course, we can’t live up to Jesus’s example or teaching, because we are only human. We have all done wrong by God’s standards, so we are all out of fellowship with God and destined for hell. Yet God is loving and merciful. He wants fellowship with us. But as He is righteous and holy, our sin prevents that. How can a holy God forgive us all the wicked things we have done in our lives and bring us into His presence in heaven?

By being born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit in the person of Jesus, born to die on the cross so we could be forgiven. That’s how,

A bit of good news for a change
In Jesus, who did no wrong, God Himself died for us and rose again. Jesus Christ shed his blood that sinners might be forgiven. In God’s mercy and love for us He provided in Jesus the true sacrifice.

One day we shall all appear in the Court of Heaven. We shall all be guilty and deserving of death. But to those who believe in Christ, when sentence is passed, the Judge will say, ‘I have already paid the penalty for you myself.’ Because Jesus carried no burden of sin, he could take our sins on Himself and be our ransom. Us Christians know we are saved and forgiven. We are justified by the blood of Jesus. That is what sets us apart; not that we are better people, but that we are forgiven people. ‘The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord’ (Rom 6:23).

Jesus is King!
Three days after His crucifixion, an angel met some women at the tomb of Jesus. He said: ‘I know ye seek Jesus who was crucified; he is not here, for he is risen as he said’ (Matt 28:5-6). The new life every Christian lives is the risen life of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit by the love and grace of God.

After His resurrection, Jesus ascended back to heaven, and was given the right to rule over all the kingdoms of the world. One day Jesus Christ, Messiah, King of kings, will return in judgment, to condemn the wicked and justify the righteous. God’s justice demands that the wicked be sent to hell. But when the books are opened in heaven, where will Gerry Johnson stand? What excuse will he give? And what about you, dear reader, when your name is called? How many times have you broken God’s righteous commandments? How will you stand in His sight, in that day?

‘I am the way’ says Jesus
Jesus had power to lay down His life and the power to take it up again. He was God made man. He laid down His life so that those who repent might be forgiven and have everlasting life. ‘Neither is their salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved’ (Acts 4:12) The first public words of Jesus were: ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye and believe the Gospel’ (Mark 1:15).

No-one but Jesus will save you, and no-one but Jesus will save our nation. That command to repent goes out to individuals, to families, to churches and to nations. It goes to our nation. It goes to you. May we all turn to Him before it is too late. And then it really will be a truly, holy, Merry Christmas!

P.S. We should love to have your support, especially if you agree with us that there is too much disrespect around and that Jesus Christ should be honoured in Britain which is, after all, a Christian country!  Join Christian Voice by clicking the link below:

CPS Wrecks Baltic Centre Case

0

The Crown Prosecution Service has wrecked the prosecution of the Baltic Centre in Gateshead over the Zabludowicz statue.

The gallery exhibited the statue, which portrays Jesus Christ with a phallus attached, from September 2007 to January this year.

The exhibition led to protests at the gallery and demands for the statue to be destroyed. Christian Emily Mapfuwa brought a prosecution against the gallery for outraging public decency, but the CPS have taken over the case and discontinued it on the grounds “that there is not enough evidence to establish a case to answer”.

It appears the CPS believes there should have been actual public disorder before a case could be brought. Michael Phillips, solicitor for Emily Mapfuwa, said:

‘Although it is right to say that there was no actual disorder, there was potentially such disorder, which was evidenced to the CPS in the witness statements provided. In particular one witness felt like smashing the object. The decision is simply not in accordance with the facts and is unsustainable.’

Christian Voice National Director Stephen Green said tonight:

‘This decision urges Christians to create public disorder if we want a similar case to proceed in future. We are naturally reluctant to do that, and it puts us in new territory. On the other hand, there were those at the Baltic Centre who wanted to take matters into their own hands, and I have warned Anita Zabludowicz that her statue will not survive being put on public display again. If the CPS wanted to give the green light to blasphemous art, their decision may paradoxically have the opposite effect. With the threat of destruction hanging over it, the Zabludowicz statue is now locked away by its wealthy owners and is unlikely to see the light of day again. The same will go for any other blasphemous works of so-called art.  Put simply, Christians won’t tolerate insults to Jesus Christ.  However, I do hope that the art world will discover some respect for Christian religious beliefs and for the person of Jesus Christ.’
