We seek a gifted Researcher / Journalist to empower and encourage Christians to become informed, pray and act in public affairs.
Identify stories, research them, write them up and publish them either to our monthly newsletter or to our website or both.
Interview people in the news, speak and liaise with other organisations and with parliamentarians.
Report directly to the National Director but work creatively with the rest of the team, making suggestions and accepting decisions.
Training will be given as well as guidance from our National Director. The aim is for the successful candidate to become up to date with journalistic standards and the criminal and civil law as it applies to all aspects of journalism.
Proactive, adaptable and enthusiastic with:
* Experience of the Christian faith,
* Knowledge of the scriptures,
* Excellent computer literacy,
* Confidence and motivation,
* Degree in a relevant discipline,
* Excellent organisational skills,
* Attention to detail,
* Exceptional interpersonal skills,
* The ability to work both cooperatively as part of a team and also as an individual.
The position will be located at our office in West Wales – this is not a ‘work from home’ position as work will include working closely with the National Director and constant interaction with the rest of the team. The charity mainly uses WordPerfect, WordPress and Microsoft Publisher but is open to suggestions to maintain and develop its impact.
Normally, hours will be Monday to Friday, but some Saturday working and travel may also be involved. Salary will not be less than the Living Wage.
