If you stood outside Westminster Cathedral with a megaphone and repeatedly quoted what the Talmud said about Jesus Christ and his mother Mary you would probably also be arrested!
Freedom of speech (like all laws) requires us to be reasonable and not to deliberately provoke and insult people with a view to causing a reaction.
Much of the hysteria with Islam is being caused by the media-hyped stories about ISIS executions (whether fabricated or true).
But we must remember that ISIS was created by the USA,UK, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar with a view to dethroning Assad of Syria.
British mainstream media was largely silent whilst Syrians were being massacred by the ISIS savages who we trained and armed.
The media coverage only changed when the savagery of ISIS threatened to boomerang onto our shores and damage our interests!!
We need to be fair about these things—our governments /shadow governments are the cause of a lot of our own problems.
If we fail to use our discernment then we will allow ourselves to be manipulated by people who do not have our best interests at heart.
At my request, I have just been given the curriculum plan for my 8 year old this academic year. RE will focus on four “contemporary inspirational figures who have made a difference to the world because of their faith”. They are Gandhi, Romero, Rosa Parks and boxer Michael Watson…. whether any difference they made was for the better is another question and one that will not be discussed at school you can be sure…..and educationalists wonder why white working class boys are the lowest achieving group nationwide! Give them some heroes of their own – what’s wrong with William Wilberforce, Oliver Cromwell, Latimer, Ridley, Cranmer…people who really did make a difference….why on earth does a C of E school need to look to Roman Catholic El Salvador for a ‘good Christian bishop’ when we have plenty of our own? Needless to say my boys will not be doing any school RE this year – a stroll down Whitehall and into Parliament Square during the summer gave them a few English Christian heroes to consider, including Churchill! How dare the powers-that-be proactively deny our children their rightful history and heritage. All of our heroes are gradually being demonised (Raleigh, Drake, Cromwell, Nelson, Gordon etc) and airbrushed from the history books so that British children either do not hear of them or if they do, only know them as ‘baddies’.
It is illegal to incite religious or racial hatred, something which I don’t think the report mentions. Speaking through a megaphone when Muslims are passing by, or even preaching to a susceptible congregation, is not the same as writing a passage as part of a book. However, when Churchill wrote the book, the law did not exist. It is impossible to know what Churchill would have thought of the way the modern law is enforced in current circumstances.
We are not very keen on Muslim preachers describing us as infidel in lurid terms, and Muslim extremists are most certainly liable to arrest for this kind of thing too.

With reference to Rox’s Reply – the astonishing fact is that Muslims have been able to chant Death to our Troops as they were marching on their return home from conflict; Muslims have openly Burnt the British & English Flags on several occasions; Muslims have Burnt the Poppy by the Cenotaph; and there are numerous videos on YouTube that bear witness to Groups of Muslims shouting with Banners preaching Hate on our streets with such threats as, ‘Behead the Infidels; ‘British Soldiers Burn In Hell’; ‘Europe You Will Pay 9/11 is on its way’; and other despicable threats… yet not once have they been arrested to my knowledge. The outrageous fact is that anyone with the backbone to oppose them HAS been arrested.
We must have FREEDOM FOR ALL – not just the Muslim minority.
Similar shocking crimes have recently been exposed – the 1400 sexually abused underage white girls – groomed, sex-slave-traded, molested, threatened, tortured, humiliated, raped & gang raped – predominantly by Gangs of Pakistani Men – Some have been murdered and yet there has been this big Cover Up by those in positions of power. Anyone who dare come forward with evidence was told to be Politically Correct.
We must do everything within our power to Expose the Truth and demand Justice to alleviate the injury, heartache and deep pain, that is still being endured by the suffering victims.
I hope my comment here does not disappear in the same way that the written reports of evidence have been disappearing over the past 20 years – it must be that long since poor Charlene Downes was murdered, chopped up and put in the Kebab meat sold at the ‘Funny Boyz’ take-away – that was in another area… but it seems that the 1400 are only the small tip of the iceberg, because these outrageous crimes are still being committed countrywide and we must insist that the paedophiles & those that protected their identity are ALL arrested, and firmly dealt with by our Legal system. These Pakistani criminals are brainwashed and do the same which ever country they live in, so I suggest long term Psychiatric assessment and help is needed, until there is a definite change of attitude, mind and heart.
However, although the prosecution had claimed that the men on trial had disposed of Charlene Downes in kebabs, they were found not guilty and in fact were each awarded £¼million compensation for false arrest. We must respect the court’s decision on this after they had examined all available evidence.
In the ITV drama this week about the youth of Cilla Black, one character says something like “The Catholic boys are too busy going after Proddy girls to bother with us”, and her friend replies “That’s because they know they won’t get anything out of us”. It seems to me that this was similar to the situation which has led to such tragic results when some Muslim girls are totally unavailable.
