New Era Brings Opportunities →

We value prayer and we value financial support. Both are ways in which people stand with us. For example, our members have paid our office expenses, providing a living for our office manager, as well as our National Director’s travel and accommodation expenses. Little of what we have achieved down the years would have been possible without those who have stood with us. Our members’ subscriptions and donations thus make a real impact in the spiritual realm.

The Apostle Paul told the believers at Philippi that their giving would bring a reward and that through it they became an essential part of his ministry:

Php 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

We should regard the ministry of our Lord Jesus as the summit of spirituality. Nevertheless, our Lord knew that supporting thirteen people in an itinerant ministry needs money – for food, clothing, lodging, transport and expenses. They needed financial support and the Lord even appointed a treasurer to look after the money. So we read in the Gospel of Luke about:

Luke 8:3 … Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

The Lord and his people exercise discretion. Herod never found out he was financing the ministry of Jesus! Nor did Israel’s king Ahab ever come to know that his chief of staff, Obadiah, was funding a hundred prophets, who were dedicated to speaking God’s word and calling the king to account:

1Kings 18:3 And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly: 4 For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water).

33 Leaving a legacy

The wealthy Obadiah might not have had the gifts of the prophets, but his own gifting provided for them and their work became his legacy.

Joanna and Susanna could not do what the Son of God could do, but today we honour their part in his ministry on earth. And of course we do not despise the day of small things. One dear lady could only give a small amount to the temple. But our Lord commended her:

Luke 21:4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Giving in this life leaves a legacy, and that word also reminds us that many charities value (some depend on) what their supporters leave them in their wills. So we urge our supporters to back up their donation, which is itself a legacy, with a legacy in their will.

Such a charitable donation does not count toward the taxable value of an individual’s estate, so A donor can cut the inheritance tax bill on his or her estate by leaving a part of it to NCCSS t/a Christian Voice.

34 Doing his will for his glory

In the future, by the grace of God and as the Lord wills, we shall continue to stand up for the Crown Rights of King Jesus in this land, pray for national repentance, work for Godly government and oppose the Secularist and Islamic agendas.

We’ll also give Christians overseas the tools to do the same where they are. And we shall do it with fresh purpose, responding to God’s calling.

By the grace of God, each of us is unique – and each of us has a part to play in God’s work. Not all of us are given what drives Stephen to uncover what is going on, bring a scriptural perspective, identify and seize God-given opportunities and to stand up for the Lord whatever the cost.

Psa 119:46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

But that is fine. The Lord knows all our abilities and he is looking not just for ability but for for availability. Will we make ourselves available for him to use? Will we pray, will we give, will we make an impact with what the Lord has given us?

Your prayers will open doors which no man can shut. Your financial gifts will enable us to stand before kings. Both will make an impact on lives in the UK and overseas as we fight against corruption and what God hates. Christian Voice offers the opportunity to leave a legacy of righteousness and blessing:

Psa 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

When we do the simple things, we can rely on the Lord to do the miraculous. The Lord is blessing our work, and may he draw those around us with a heart to see it grow and build his Kingdom here on earth so his will may be done for his glory!
