A father was kicked to death in front of his family after complaining about a noisy house party, a court has heard.
Danny Walsh, 30, was walking past the house with his partner Katie Loosemore and their two-year-old daughter Layla May when he stopped to remonstrate.
He was worried the noise would wake neighbours with children — including a girl with a terminal illness.
But he was confronted by tenant Kelly Parsons, who screamed at him to leave, the jury heard.
When Mr Walsh returned to complain a second time he was attacked by Kelly’s brothers Ben and Sam Croft, who knocked him to the ground and kicked his head as he lay motionless, the court was told.
Danny suffered serious brain injuries and died hours later in hospital.
Gordon Aspden, prosecuting, told Lincoln Crown Court: “Mr Walsh made a fatal mistake — he decided to get involved.”
He said the Croft brothers “encouraged” each other to kick him — until they realised he was badly hurt.
He added: “He was unconscious, unresponsive and bleeding from the mouth. Attempts were made to rouse him but he didn’t wake up. The reason for that is simple. He was dying.”
The jury heard Sam Croft, 22, left the scene in Grantham in a car but Ben, 24, called an ambulance.
The brothers, of Barrowby, Lincs, both deny murder on July 28 last year. The trial continues.
Just a few years ago, such a story would have been a rarity. Now, thanks to the lack of respect for human life which successive governments have encouraged since the 1960s, it is common to hear of teenagers murdered for a mobile phone or a grandfather beaten to death for asking yobs to move on. Welcome to Brutal Britain.

Disgusting! but what should we expect from the atheist, liberal, PC people and their academic university “advisers” who have run this country for the last 50 years.(and will continue to run) There is no punishment for misdemeanor anymore no real consequences for wrong doing rather a warm cell, TV, 3 meals a day with the inconvenience of being “inside” until some liberal probation officer recommends your release..
Therefore no respect for the law ,people or society. The Croft brothers if found guilty will no doubt get a lenient sentence and then probably only serve half of it.
2 Timothy 3:
1Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be on us.
2 For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good, 4 traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
note the word “savage ” in the text above
Brother David
i understand your dismay and anger but remember GOD expects us to be merciful [ for if we are not then HE will not be merciful with us ]
ALL of us have sinned to varying degrees and therefore cannot take the high ground
i do not condone the wicked act that was perpetrated but when a transgressor is punished he must be given opportunity to repent and make retribution for his crimes
in our corrupt and weak human state we cannot judge effectively unlike our Heavenly Father
The prison system has got it wrong
the perpetrator [ and remember we also imprison innocent people ] should be shown the horror and suffering of his crime and if right hearted be allowed to attone for his misdeameanor
All the while we allow corrupt leaders and a corrupt legal system to flourish it will reflect in our nation’s attitude
sadly this incident is a glimpse into a not too distant future for when the restraining spirit is removed this kind of act will be common place
what was the reason for this vile act ?
Sinful pride and selfishness
The victim should have erred on the side of caution and employed the forces of law and order to deal with the noise annoyance
Having received abuse on his first approach he should have reconsidered his second attempt
a wise person does not invite trouble
Remember if we are followers of our LORD we must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves
a serpent does not expose itself to danger
we do not know what actually transpired for we did not witness it
Maybe the victim enflamed the situation but that does not excuse the outcome though alcohol may have contributed to the situation for we know how that poison can magnify rage in a violently disposed person
“The prison system has got it wrong…the perpetrator…………should be shown the horror and suffering of his crime and if right hearted be allowed to attone for his misdeameanor ”
” …liberal, PC people and their academic university “advisers” ….There is no punishment for misdemeanor anymore ”
It looks very much as if Stephen [the other one] is one of these very liberal, PC people, or even an academic university adviser. Seldom do two disciple of Christian Voice come to such differing conclusions about the world
.
What happened to innocent until proven guilty?
The trial continues …
I am the sister of the ‘croft’ brothers as you describe them
The ones who’s house this happened at.
Considering you are people who preach about God your so gullible you believe what you read.
You have printed FALSE facts in this article and it’s completely based on hear say. Not very Christian is it.
Innocent until proven guilty. And yes, because they were innocent and and 12 panel jury and the best judge in this county found these boys NOT GUILTY of murder. For 3 weeks the court listened to so called witnesses and FACTS from a pathologist
So go figure.
What happened that night had nothing to do with society
Thank you Kelly. Your brothers were indeed found not guilty. To be fair, Sam admitted kicking Mr Walsh when he was down on the ground. It does not reflect very well on him, despite the jury’s verdict. Why did you all not just turn the noise down? Why has our society become so brutal and so selfish? Turning our backs on Almighty God, that’s why.
