Tablighi Jamaat’s Abbey Mills mosque site

The London Borough of Newham is inviting objections to a planning application for a project dubbed the West Ham ‘megamosque’.

An Islamic separatist group, Tablighi Jamaat, have submitted the application for outline planning permission for a project that would have a capacity of 9,350, including 1,830 segregated places for women, with an additional dining hall for 2,000.

Tablighi Jamaat’s followers have been linked to a number of planned and actual terrorist atrocities.  They are said to operate as a charity in England and Wales under the name Anjuman-E-Islahul-Muslimeed of London (UK), in whose name the application has been made.

A search at the Charity Commission did not yield such a name, but the similar-sounding ‘Anjuman-E-Islah-Al-Muslimeen (Madrasa Taleem Ul Islam) Of United Kingdom‘ runs the Tablighi Jamaat mosque in Dewsbury, Yorkshire as registered charity 505732.

Christian Voice members have been meeting for prayer on the Greenway overlooking the site on the first Saturday morning of every month without fail since January 2007, in response to Tablighi Jamaat’s boast that they would have their mega-mosque up and operating in time for the London Olympics.  They failed to do that.  In the time we have been praying we have seen two sets of architects and one bunch of public relations people sacked and general confusion has reigned, all in answer to our prayer.

Battersea Power Station

According to the group’s latest architect, Richard Owers of NRAP in Cambridge, the project will be the size of Battersea Power Station, with almost 50′ (15m) minarets which will dwarf even the local landmark of Channel Sea House.

In May 2011, Tablighi Jamaat won the right to stay on site with temporary planning permission for a further two years during which time they are required to put in a planning application setting out their plans in full.

The Planning Application is HERE on Newham’s Planning Portal.  Over six hundred comments have been left, the majority of which are supportive, because emails and texts from Tablighi Jamaat went around the world urging the ummah, the Muslim faithful, to support the application.  However, we understand that comments will be given more weight the nearer the respondent lives to the site itself.

PRAY for wisdom for all those opposing the application of Tablighi Jamaat.  Pray that the project’s opponents will enjoy favour with Newham Council Planning Officials so that they will reject this application.  Pray the Council will follow all proper procedures so that there are no loopholes which may be exploited at the appeal stage.  Pray for Alan Craig and the Megamosque No Thanks team as they raise local awareness.  Pray for confusion amongst the enemies of the sovereign incarnate Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.  Pray also for those taking the Gospel to Muslims in the UK and around the world.  May they see a mighty move of the Holy Spirit and the lost turing from their dead prophet to the living Saviour .

  1. We already have too many mosques in Britain for national security to be maintained. When moslem countries are prepared to allow Christian Churches to be built on a grand scale throughout their land, then perhaps they could be justified. To allow this megamosque to be built would be utter madness.

  2. I agree with Harry Barron.Why should Britan be inundated with all these Mosque’s. and why do they need another one here in Britain? This is CHRISTIAN Britain, not an Asian country, and as such we should see the emphasis on Christianity, not Islam. MORE Churches, NOT Foreign places of worship.Of course they’re going to have more people for, than against, this monstrosity of a building, because Muslims from all round the Asian world have been notified about this.and will be supporting it. I just hope the Powers that be, have the sense, and wisdom, to know what’s happening.an to say an EMPHATIC NO. we don’t want this Mega Mosque here in London. and reject this Planning Application, outright.

  3. It is inconceivable that a purported Christian Nation in the name of religious tolerant will allow her land to be dominated by mosques. It wouldn’t have been so disturbing if the same rights are accorded Christians in Moslem nations try and hold Bible openly in some of this nations you may have your head cut off. Just recently a Church was refused planning permission by Havering Council.

    I said an Emphatic No to Mega Mosque, London does not need another mosque.

  6. Next year sees the 60th Anniversary of when HM The Queen signed her Coronation Oath to ‘uphold the Laws of God and the True Profession of the Gospel’. It has been encumbent upon all her Governments to assist her in upholding this oath, yet over recent decades, in the name of multiculturalism:

  7. It really is an afront to our way of life to see endless amounts of mosques being built in the country. muslims do not want to be part of this land and culture. It is so obvious that they have their own agenda. London is the capitol of a Christian country and our weak politicians are to fearful to stop it – Why.

Until Saudi Arabia starts allowing the building of Christian assemblies houses of fellowships,as well as giants mega Synagogues,and Christian fellowship centres all over the kingdom,including the right for evangelism,and distribution of bibles and Christian tracts freely without intimidation,and public beheadings of the converts from Islam to Christianity,it would be inconceivable,unreasonable,irrational and stupid to permit the building of this provocative,offensive,hateful Megamosque here in the heart of Great Britain. Enough of mosques building,already we are inundated and saturated with troublesome mosques and minarets,that have been used to propagate jehad,terrorism,and murder of British citizens. The 7 of July 2005, was planned and executed from mosques,a supposed place of worship,killing and maiming innocent Brits. Why not close these mosques down,instead you want to permit a major terror centre in London. Away with this evil mosque@

  9. All of us here are of the opinion ,that muslim countries should allow us the infidels to build Churches or Synagogues in their countries, and only then we would allow mosques to be build in UK. That will never happen, muslims will NEVER let us build Churches in muslim countries. We have muslim sympathisers in our Govt Departs who will allow muslims do build mosques here in UK. and also don’t forget that some Councils are already infested by muslims and they will let that be done. The entire Tower Hamlet council is run by muslims. We have PM who sympathise with muslims, like of George Galloway, Baroness Warsi, Keith Vass and so on. The only other way is to Petitions our Govt.

    • We don’t rely on luck here, Robert, we rely on a miracle-working God who answers fervent prayer. But if Christians fail to pray and oppose these abominations, we shall keep on course for a Muslim take-over in around thirty years’ time.
