09 PRAYER AND LOBBYING WORKS!

Handing out leaflets outside London Zoo on the occasion of Gay Sunday.

In 2007 we handed out leaflets outside London Zoo when it held ‘Gay Sunday’. The Zoo is in Regent’s Park, a Royal Park. The police swiftly moved us on, but we already had a leafleting site in mind just outside one of the gates to the park. The initial foray let the Zoo know we were there and validated the protest rule: ‘If you don’t think they will give you permission, don’t ask for it!’

Christian Voice carried out a successful lobbying of the Marie Stopes Global ‘Safe’ Abortion Conference in October 2007. We leafleted those going in to the conference and preached as they came out. We were there when it started, we were there when it ended, and they knew.

Also in October 2007, we challenged Glaxo Smith Kline over their desire to impose their lucrative cervical cancer vaccine ‘Cervarix’ on teenage schoolgirls.

In 2008, Betterware withdrew a ‘voodoo candle’ from sale two days after our members began praying and writing to that company’s directors.
Sainsbury’s stopped free supplies of the morning-after pill to teenagers after a prayer and action campaign by Christian Voice.

Today we are out on the streets, handing out leaflets to an eager audience sceptical of evolution as the only explanation for our origins allowed to be taught in schools and appalled at the RSE agenda.

10 RESISTING IMMORAL SEX EDUCATION

In February 2009, just after our merger with NCCSS, Christian Voice held a leaflet campaign outside a primary school in London’s Leytonstone over homosexual propaganda given to children during ‘Lesbian and Gay History Month’. We helped the parents form a support group to stop such atrocities in schools in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

We continued to oppose homosexual propaganda in schools, leafleting outside the ‘Schools Out’ exhibition at the British Museum and at Perry Beeches School in Birmingham, and supporting Christian parents in Broadstairs, Kent.

More recently we supported parents at Parkfield School in Birmingham in their campaign against homosexual and trans propaganda in state primary schools. School sex education is now called ‘Relationships and Sex Education’ (RSE). Even in primary schools parents have no right to take their children out of the ‘Relationships’ part, which is where the pro-gay, pro-trans propaganda happens. They look in vain for Christian teachings of chastity and marriage.

Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

In March 2019 we held a street witness handing out leaflets to school head teachers at the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) teachers’ union conference in Birmingham. We went again after lockdown in March 2022. We are supporting parents in Wales who are standing against RSE, but more needs to be done. Our plans for a campaign called ‘21 things they won’t tell you about sex’, targeted at adolescents, will depend on the Lord’s will expressed in funding for that project.

11 FAMILIES AND SOCIAL SERVICES

is one of the most-viewed on this subject.

As 2015 drew to a close, our National Director travelled to Bexley in South London to interview a couple who rang out of the blue to tell us their children had been wrongly taken into care by Social Services (SS). We published the resulting video, ‘Christmas ruined by Social Services’, on YouTube on Christmas morning.

We emailed members and supporters asking for them to spare a prayer for this family as they tucked into their own Christmas dinner. Shortly afterwards, the video went viral and now has 114,000 views, among the highest viewing figures for a video exposing abuse of power by social services.

Next, our members rallied round to support a legal challenge and eventually, in May 2017, the family was reunited. Our National Director also secured a press card, meaning he was now a journalist and entitled to attend any family court proceedings.

He soon found himself in court in Milton Keynes. The two daughters of a Nigerian pastor and his wife had been taken by SS because a teacher heard the mother had raised her hand to one of them. The children did stay in care for two weeks, but at the next hearing, in February 2016, the judge ordered the girls should go home. There was much praising God from the parents. Undoubtedly the presence of a journalist in the courtroom helped.

12 THE WALSALL CHILDREN

Walsall Family Court

Our National Director was called in 2016 to another case involving SS in Walsall. This time, social workers took three boys from a family into care on the strength of the word of a five-year-old girl in graphic detail that they had molested her when she stayed overnight as a favour the family did for a friend – her father – at church.

The two older boys were also charged with sexual offences and had to appear in the Crown Court. During trial evidence, it turned out a twelve-year-old girl next door to the five-year-old had been inviting the smaller girl in regularly to watch pornography. The tot had then done what children do, made up a game of it in her mind. None of her allegations were true. The jury acquitted the brothers.

However, it turned out Crown Court and Family Court were not joined up. Neither knew what the other was doing and neither informed the other. By attending both, absurdly, Stephen knew more about the case than anyone else in either court room.

Now we helped the family find a Christian lawyer who could stand up for them and explain matters to Walsall Council’s barrister. He was appalled. The local authority had totally misrepresented the case. The family was reunited, glory to God.

There can be no doubt that if the Lord had not used Stephen to take on the case the boys would have been taken away for good and adopted and the family destroyed.

Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

We recognise the state has to step in on occasion. Nevertheless, the default option among social workers of taking children into care with its known poor outcomes instead of helping families stay together is a scandal waiting to be exposed.
