The judges of the UK Supreme Court ruled that Parliament must vote on Article 50.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Supreme Court ruled this morning<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0the UK Parliament must give its assent before the Government can trigger Article 50 and begin the process of leaving the European Union.<\/p>\n

The verdict was arrived at by a majority of eight judges to three.<\/p>\n

It means the Government cannot rely on the ‘prerogative powers’ of the Crown. \u00a0Instead, the Court said\u00a0Parliament has the\u00a0duty of enacting the decision of the British people in the 23rd June Referendum.<\/p>\n

Last November, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell made it clear<\/a><\/strong> the Labour Opposition will not block a clean (or ‘hard’) Brexit.<\/p>\n

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn repeated the pledge just days ago. \u00a0He insisted the referendum result must be respected<\/a><\/strong>, with MPs being asked to support it “however difficult they might find that.”<\/p>\n

SNP\u00a0to\u00a0vote against Article 50<\/h2>\n

However,\u00a0the Scottish Nationalists, Plaid Cymru, the Green Party MP, the SDLP and the Liberal Democrats may well vote against the triggering of\u00a0Article 50.<\/p>\n

A majority of Scots voted to stay in the EU, but the judges ruled unanimously that neither of the devolved assemblies nor the Scottish Parliament can have any say in the terms or the process of leaving the European Union. \u00a0That is an serious blow to Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP and a huge relief to Theresa May.<\/p>\n

So in practice the Supreme Court ruling is something of a pyrrhic victory for Gina Miller, who brought the action.<\/p>\n

Theresa May has stated Britain will leave the EU’s Single Market.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last week, Mrs\u00a0May stated she would negotiate for a clean Brexit<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0That means the UK will leave the EU Single Market and its Customs Union.<\/p>\n

The Government also need to invoke Article 127 of the agreement for the European Economic Area. \u00a0We explain all these terms in this easy-to-read article<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

EU never a Christian project<\/h2>\n

In a series of videos filmed in Europe last spring, this ministry discovered that the European Union was never a Christian project, as some have claimed. \u00a0It was always intended to be a revived Roman Empire<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That meant there was a spiritual dimension to the EU project. \u00a0The EU was set on a collision path with the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ the King of kings. \u00a0It followed the United Kingdom was spiritually better off out of it. \u00a0Economic and security blessings could follow, depending on the extent of national repentance.<\/p>\n
