‘White Helmets’ as they like to be seen, rescuing children from ‘Assad’s bombs’.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With the liberation of Aleppo<\/a><\/strong>, we have heard much about the so-called \u2018White Helmets\u2019 in Syria.<\/p>\n

Last month, \u2018Avaaz\u2019, a group of George-Soros-funded globalists in the US, ran a campaign to raise a\u00a0\u201cpeople’s million\u201d in dollars for the \u2018White Helmets\u2019.<\/p>\n

The campaign was started after\u00a0the group was unaccountably overlooked for this year\u2019s Nobel Peace prize.<\/p>\n

The message\u00a0went far and wide, with the UK contingent on the Avaaz emailing list invited to donate from \u00a32 to \u00a332 to the \u2018White Helmets\u2019 to ensure \u2018the recognition they deserve and the funding they desperately need\u2019.<\/p>\n

JUST ORDINARY SYRIANS?<\/h3>\n

Syria\u2019s \u2018White Helmets\u2019, Avaaz claims, have saved \u201870,280 lives … rushing to the scene of bombings to pull people from the rubble and carry them to safety\u2019.\u00a0 \u2018For their heroic efforts\u2019, it goes on, \u2018White Helmets volunteers are often targeted \u2014 Russian and Syrian regime planes bomb civilians, then circle back to bomb the rescue workers who scramble to help\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018These heroes\u2019, it gushes, \u2018are just ordinary Syrians – bakers, teachers, tailors – who felt they couldn\u2019t do nothing, and threw themselves right into the line of fire\u2019.\u00a0 \u2018The White Helmets aren\u2019t from an international aid organization, and they need every dollar they can get\u2019, it goes on.<\/p>\n

CASH-STARVED AND LOCALLY-GROWN?<\/h3>\n

So are the \u2018White Helmets\u2019 really a cash-starved locally-grown humanitarian group of peacemakers and para-medics as Avaaz claim?<\/p>\n

Well, actually, no, they aren\u2019t.\u00a0 They are a foreign-inspired and foreign-funded partisan force working against the Syrian government.\u00a0 As can be gathered from the comment about \u2018Russian and Syrian regime planes\u2019 bombing them, they only work in rebel-held areas.<\/p>\n

There is footage online of \u2018White Helmets\u2019 waiting while jihadists execute people they disagree with before carrying the bodies away.\u00a0 They have been briefed in advance.\u00a0 Also online are videos of \u2018White Helmet\u2019 persons celebrating with Al Nusra jihadists firing guns in the air (see picture above).<\/p>\n

White Helmets founder British insider James Le Mesurier. \u00a0We discovered the background is the Eminonu docks in Istanbul, Turkey, where the UK-funded Syrian National Council is based and where he trained the ‘White Helmets’<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u2018White Helmets\u2019 are also called \u2018Syria Civil Defence\u2019, perhaps to engender confusion with the genuine Syrian government \u2018Syria Civil Defence\u2019 or even to claim to be locally-inspired.<\/p>\n

But they are actually a Western-Arab import.\u00a0 The \u2018White Helmets\u2019 was started in 2013 by insider James Le Mesurier.\u00a0 He claims to have been a British Army Officer, but does not give his rank.<\/p>\n

He also claims to have been on the staff of the United Nations and to have been a consultant for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as well as private security companies.<\/p>\n

GlobalResearch.ca carries an account by Scott Ritter<\/a><\/strong>, former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and weapons inspector in Iraq:<\/p>\n

ARAB LEAGUE SENT WEAPONS TO REBELS<\/h3>\n

\u2018The organizational underpinnings of the White Helmets can be sourced to a March 2013 meeting in Istanbul between a retired British military officer, James Le Mesurier\u2014who had experience in the murky world of private security companies and the shadowy confluence between national security and intelligence operations and international organizations\u2014and representatives of the Syrian National Council (SNC) and the Qatari Red Crescent Society.’<\/p>\n

Naturally, the Syrian National Council is an anti-Assad opposition group based in Istanbul and just as naturally, it is funded by the British Foreign Office<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0Earlier in March 2013, the SNC was given Syria\u2019s seat in the Arab League at a meeting of the league held in Qatar. \u00a0Scott Ritter continues in ‘TruthDig<\/a><\/strong>‘:<\/p>\n

\u2018At that meeting, the SNC assumed Syria\u2019s seat, and the Arab League authorized member states to actively provide support, including arms and ammunition, to the Syrian rebels. The Qataris, working through the SNC, helped assemble for Le Mesurier $300,000 in seed money from Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom for a seven-\u001eday course designed to train and equip a 25-\u001eperson rescue team, recruited by the SNC, for duty in so\u001ecalled \u201cliberated areas\u201d of Syria. The SNC made available a pair of Syrian activists – Raed Saleh and Farouq Habib – to assist Le Mesurier in this work.\u2019<\/p>\n

$30m Budget<\/h2>\n

GlobalResearch.ca says<\/a><\/strong> the \u2018White Helmets seems to have an annual budget of US$30 million and has raised a total support of well over $100 million\u2019 in its three years of operation.<\/p>\n

A White Helmets\u2019 briefing page says<\/a><\/strong>: \u2019funding for their humanitarian relief work is received from the aid budgets of Japan, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.\u2019<\/p>\n

White Helmets FCO<\/h2>\n

A Freedom of Information request earlier this year<\/a><\/strong> made by one Rori Donaghy elicited the following response from the Foreign &\u00a0Commonwealth Office:<\/p>\n

\u2018The United Kingdom has provided support to Syria Civil Defence (also known as the White Helmets) through the cross\u001edepartmental Conflict Pool and its successor, the Conflict Stability and Security Fund.\u00a0 Our assistance has been delivered through trusted third party implementers. The total value of funds committed between June 2013 and the end of the current financial year (31 March 2016) is \u00a319.7m.\u2019<\/p>\n

FUNDING ALSO CAME FROM JO COX FUND<\/h3>\n

With money like that sloshing around, the \u2018White Helmets\u2019 certainly do not need the \u2018peoples\u2019 million\u2019. \u00a0White Helmets is even\u00a0listed as a beneficiary of the Jo Cox Memorial Fund<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0They don’t need that money either. \u00a0But then\u00a0Jo\u00a0Cox was co-chair of the fiercely anti-Assad ‘Friends of Syria’ All-Party Parliamentary Group<\/a><\/strong> with the Tory MP Andrew Mitchell who initiated a debate on Aleppo just days ago<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Naturally, photos abound of men wearing white helmets carrying wounded infants out of bombed sites presumably in Syria.\u00a0 But journalist Vanessa Beeley told RT the \u2018White Helmets\u2019 are \u2018terrorist support group & Western propaganda tool\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018This organization is a fraudulent shadow\u001estate construct created by NATO to simply propagate the propaganda that will demonize Assad\u2019s government and also demonize Russian legal intervention in Syria,\u2019 said the journalist, who recently returned from Syria.<\/p>\n

While there, she was told by an emergency worker with the legitimate Syrian Civil Defense that the White Helmets are \u2018very poorly trained in paramedic work.\u2019\u00a0 Beeley went on: \u2018He claimed that they drive around with guns in the back of their car, like every other terrorist there. They carry out and facilitate criminal activities in Eastern Aleppo.\u2019<\/p>\n

A woman named Rana from Damascus said: ‘they are an armed force [which has] covered themselves under the wing of ‘humanitarian’ organization. In rural Idlib they did so many executions against Syrian civilians that don’t support the fake revolution\u2019.<\/p>\n

DUAL-PURPOSE ORGANISATION<\/h3>\n

So which is it?\u00a0 \u2018White Helmets\u2019, good or bad?\u00a0 Jan Oberg of GlobalResearch suggests a both\/and approach.\u00a0 He suggests the White Helmets is \u2018a dual\u001epurpose organisation. They claim to be ordinary Syrian volunteers who came together around the idea of saving lives and are truly altruistic \u2018bakers, tailors, engineers, pharmacists, painters, carpenters, students and many more, the White Helmets are volunteers from all walks of life.\u2019 It could well be that some of them actually are, even a majority.<\/p>\n

\u2018That doesn\u2019t preclude that other elements \u2013 not the least those operating outside Syria such as foundations, PR and marketing firms, change organisations, NATO government and NGOs are in it with less noble, war\u001e-promoting purposes.\u2019<\/p>\n
