The dancers in orange jump-suits represent the five workers who died building the Gotthard Base Tunnel. But as for\u00a0the woman dressed, so to speak, as a bird?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The longest rail tunnel in the world opened last\u00a0week with a weird ceremony accused by\u00a0some of being ‘demonic’<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

World leaders including\u00a0German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi attended the opening of the Gotthard Base tunnel which cuts a direct route to Italy under the Alps.<\/p>\n

There are several videos around<\/strong> <\/a>showing robotic and slightly under-rehearsed (or perhaps it was meant to be out-of-sync) dancers clad in Orange work-style jump suits shuffling in to a lone drummer before going outside, stripping down to their underwear and rolling down a slope to the accompaniment of Alpenhorns.<\/p>\n

Quite what all that signified, only German director and choreographer Volker Hesse would know.<\/p>\n

Certain aspects proved popular with the men in the invitation-only audience.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Yes, I understood the five dancers lying on the floor in their orange uniforms to refer to the five who died in the tunnel’s construction. \u00a0Just what the bare-breasted woman with wings and a bird’s head was doing floating down from the ceiling above them, escaped me. \u00a0She was, however, popular with\u00a0some of the top-level audience, who stirred their video-phones into action<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Equally popular was the simulated lesbian groping which formed part of a float of scantily-clad gyrating dancers, appearing to have lost their way from some gay pride parade. \u00a0Someone hit part of a railway wagon with chains. \u00a0As you do.<\/p>\n

Children’s tales, or Baphomet the goat-god?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Perhaps the strangest part of the ceremony involved a man dressed like nothing half so much as a goat-god. \u00a0The grass-clad\u00a0dancers bowed down to him. \u00a0It is this apparently demonic element which has most concerned some Christian commentators.<\/p>\n

Austin Ruse on the Breitbart website<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0under the headline\u00a0‘Stupid, not satanic’, was keen to explain that the Swiss trot out a lot of this weirdness at Christmas. \u00a0Apparently they love dressing up as mountain goats or trolls and scaring the children. \u00a0That makes it just fine, then.<\/p>\n

The closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics laid itself open to similar accusations of satanic role-plays<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0There were people worshiping a pyramid, a nod to a one-world global vision and a phoenix rising from the flames. \u00a0The dancers bowed down to that as well. \u00a0It was all\u00a0very ‘New World Order’.<\/p>\n

Are\u00a0the directors of these events briefed to provide something to please the global elite? \u00a0Or do they produce all\u00a0the occult symbolism out of their own heads? \u00a0No doubt the new rail tunnel will cut several minutes off the Swiss north-south route. \u00a0This author might well be inclined still to take the scenic route.<\/p>\n
