The lesbian BBC sports presenter Claire Balding and Peter Tatchell, ‘Outrage!’ leader and contributor to a 1980s paedophilia campaigning book, are joint second on the Independent’s 2013 ‘Pink List’<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of 101 influential homosexuals.<\/p>\n

Topping the list was a journalist by the name of Paris Lees, who was apparently born a man and has had a sex change.<\/p>\n

Women’s Olympic boxing gold medal winner Nicola Adams MBE was fourth and Ruth Hunt, Deputy CEO of Stonewall, was fifth.<\/p>\n

The judges<\/a><\/strong> included Ben Summerskill, Chief Executive of Stonewall, as well as a collection of Indy editors.<\/p>\n

Matthew Parris, Sir Elton John, Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen are among a celebrity-laden list of past or perhaps past-it campaigners, whom the Indy fervently hopes<\/a><\/strong> ‘don\u2019t mind stepping aside\u00a0 to pass on the baton to those who campaign today’.<\/p>\n

The Indy’s ‘Pink List’ of politicians<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0mentions members of David Cameron’s kitchen cabinet while the ‘ones to watch’ list<\/a><\/strong> includes the CEO of W.H.Smith. \u00a0Friends of LGBT people<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0lists both Mr Cameron and Lynne Featherstone MP, who pushed gay marriage through Parliament.<\/p>\n
