‘Gay weddings’ could take place next summer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Her Majesty the Queen has given her Royal Assent to the Bill legalising ‘gay marriage’ in England and Wales.<\/p>\n

Speaker John Bercow MP told the House of Commons yesterday<\/a><\/strong> that Her Majesty had given the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill her approval. \u00a0The Bill is now an Act of Parliament.<\/p>\n

During Her Coronation on 2nd June 1953, and before she was anointed and crowned, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was asked by Archbishop Fisher, inter alia:<\/p>\n

\u2018Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel?\u2019<\/p>\n

And the Queen replied: \u2018All this I solemnly promise to do.\u2019<\/p>\n

Next the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland presented the Bible to the Queen. Between them, the Archbishop and Moderator said to her:<\/p>\n

\"Orb\"<\/a>
‘The whole world is subject to the Power and Empire of Christ our Redeemer’<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u2018Our gracious Queen: to keep your majesty ever mindful of the Law and the Gospel of God as the Rule for the whole life and government of Christian Princes, we present you with this book, the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is Wisdom; This is the royal Law; these are the lively oracles of God.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Archbishop told Her Majesty when she was given the Orb from the Crown Jewels:<\/p>\n

\u2018Receive this Orb set under the Cross, and remember that the whole world is subject to the Power and Empire of Christ our Redeemer.\u2019<\/p>\n

Her Majesty\u2019s Government can no more change the definition of marriage than they can declare that God does not exist.<\/p>\n

But they have done so, and as Her Majesty always acts on the advice of her ministers she has, and not for the first time, legislated against her Coronation Oath.<\/p>\n

As we saw on Monday<\/a><\/strong>, the homosexuals will now be targeting freedom of speech and Christianity itself. \u00a0When will the gay hate speech Bill next raise its ugly head? \u00a0Who will be the first Christian teacher sacked for refusing to teach that ‘gay shows the way’? \u00a0Which will be the first church taken to court for refusing a ‘gay wedding’? \u00a0Watch this space.<\/p>\n
