British Troops recover the Falklands in 1982<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

At a time when Argentinian politicians have renewed demands on the Falkland Islands<\/b><\/a>, apparently supported by the United States Pentagon, we have to ask whether our armed forces could even try to defend the British Overseas Territory.<\/p>\n

The Telegraph reports<\/b><\/a> that our Attorney General, Richard (Lord) Hermer, has insulted British troops, persecuted them in the courts, and hailed Keir Starmer\u2019s \u2018groundbreaking\u2019 work suing soldiers. Would those currently in office even want to resist claims over the Falklands? Could they if they wanted to?<\/p>\n

RAF cadet suspended over Islam claim<\/h2>\n

Last month, Spiked Online reports<\/b><\/a> an RAF cadet was suspended after he said Islam poses the greatest security threat to the UK, while taking part in a training exercise. He made the comment during a question-and-answer session in which he and other cadets were asked about dangers to British security.<\/p>\n

It led to him being kicked off the officer-training course, pending an investigation. This is the same RAF, let us recall<\/b><\/a>, which was forced to compensate 31 white male applicants after officers introduced diversity targets to increase women and ethnic minority recruits at the expense of those recruiters described as \u2018useless white male pilots\u2019.<\/p>\n

Group Captain Lizzy Nicholl, head of RAF recruiting, resigned in August 2022 over the pressure to implement this policy. That\u2019s right, a woman was in charge of RAF recruiting. But she could see how wrong the RAF\u2019s diversity policy was.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s extremism, not Islam!\u2019<\/h2>\n

Even while defending him, a senior officer had to be politically correct. the Mail reports<\/b><\/a> that retired Rear Admiral Chris Parry accused the RAF of shutting down the \u2018critical thinking\u2019 of new officers around controversial issues and said the cadet should be reinstated.<\/p>\n

He went on: \u2018Clearly Islamic extremism is the issue and not Islam, but how are young people expected to develop critical thinking around these complex issues if they are shut down in this way?\u2019<\/p>\n

But hang on. Only last month we reported on the Trafalgar Square Iftar<\/b><\/a>, described by Nick Timothy MP as as \u2018act of domination\u2019. Are the hundreds of Muslims who took part in that demonstration extremists, or ordinary Muslims posing no threat?<\/p>\n

When polled, three quarters of Muslims praise Hamas for the 7th October 2023 atrocity and say Israel has no right to exist. Jihad, antisemitism and sexual abuse are written into the Islamic scriptures. Despite all that, our elites, including retired admirals, have to toe the multicultural line.<\/p>\n

Blame \u2018manosphere\u2019, not us!<\/h2>\n

Also last month, the Telegraph reported<\/b><\/a> General Sir Roly Walker, Chief of the General Staff, blaming the online \u2018manosphere\u2019 for \u2018sexist\u2019 behaviours among young recruits when asked by the Commons Defence Select Committee how he proposed to protect female personnel in the Army.<\/p>\n

Sir Roly\u2019s appearance came after an inquest last year found the Army had failed to take action after Gunner Jaysley Beck<\/b><\/a> endured sexual harassment from a superior officer in the months before she took her own life.<\/p>\n

It was all down to social media misogyny, said the Chief of the General Staff. It could not possibly be a lack of discipline or basic Christian morality causing NCOs to prey on young female recruits, could it?<\/p>\n

Army\u2019s \u2018Values and Standards\u2019<\/h2>\n

For that matter, what did they expect when they placed young women and young men together in a military environment? Sir Roly admitted recruits \u2018are between the ages of 17-and-a-half and 20\u2019. Feminists demanded women serve alongside men in barracks, on ships, and our politicians agreed. What could possibly go wrong?<\/p>\n

Sir Roly was surely right to observe \u2018The level of sexualisation of young people in society, the level of exposure to drugs, drink, alcohol, violence in wider society\u2019. He said recruits come in with \u2018behaviours which are at odds with our values and standards.\u2019 But it was a married Warrant Officer who assaulted Gunner Jaysley, a very senior respected NCO. Was he not aware of the Army\u2019s \u2018values and standards\u2019?<\/p>\n

In 2021, the Atherton report said the MoD and armed forces were failing to protect female personnel. Sir Roly boasted to the Committee that \u2018for the first time, there is a woman serving at every rank of the British Army.\u2019 How did that protect Jaysley Beck and all the other young women who have been sexually assaulted in the armed forces?<\/p>\n

Armed Forces need repentance<\/h2>\n

Without wholesale repentance, a rooting out of secularism and a return to Christ and the muscular Christian standards which were a part of the ethos of our armed forces even up to the time of the Second World War, the decline will continue. And the Falkland Islanders might want to get armed, and trained, as a matter of urgency.<\/p>\n
