But the NHS claimed it was part of its \u2018inclusivity policy\u2019.<\/p>\n The guidance, which followed an incident where a \u2018transgender man\u2019 unknowingly underwent a CT scan while pregnant, required staff to ask about pregnancy status without making assumptions about a patient\u2019s gender identity.<\/p>\n Some hospitals even went further, asking patients to complete forms stating their sex at birth, preferred name and pronouns.<\/p>\n With the chaos and ideological confusion engulfing the NHS in recent years, many Britons are now asking unavoidable questions: Who is really directing policy inside the health service?
