Reform leaders on yet another local authority have confirmed they will withdraw financial support for the county\u2019s \u2018Pride\u2019 event.<\/p>\n

Durham County Council will stop funding from 2026 onwards.\u00a0According to the Northern Echo<\/b><\/a>, deputy leader Darren Grimes criticised the annual celebration, announcing that the money would instead be directed to what he referred to as essential services.<\/p>\n

What gives Durham’s decision even more force is that Cllr Grimes is himself homosexual, according to his Facebook page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event, held on 24th \u2013 25th May 2025 in Durham City, drew thousands to promote the whole spectrum of LGBT depravity. The video is here if you can stand it<\/b><\/a>. The council had \u2018invested\u2019 up to \u00a310,000 as part of efforts to \u2018boost cultural life\u2019 in the region following its failed City of Culture bid. The Bible says of such leaders:<\/p>\n

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.<\/b><\/p>\n

The new administration has made it clear that council taxpayers\u2019 money will now be reserved for what it deems to be core services. Transgenderism is the \u2018T\u2019 in \u2018LGBT\u2019, and deluded, wicked, activists were (wrongly) claiming ‘Trans rights are human rights’.\u00a0 You can sign our petition to oppose that evil here:<\/p>\n

This decision deserves recognition as a stand for fiscal responsibility and a return to essentials.<\/p>\n

In an era when public funds are stretched, or for that matter at any time, prioritising roads and waste collection is both wise and just. Cllr Grimes said: \u201cOur residents deserve bins emptied, roads fixed, and services funded \u2014 not more council-sponsored politics in fancy dress.\u201d<\/p>\n

It may indeed be argued that the Bible says the prime duty of government is to maintain security, law and order:<\/p>\n

Romans 13:4 For he (the ruler) is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.<\/b><\/p>\n

Other councils defunding \u2018Pride\u2019<\/h2>\n

Across the country, several councils including North East Lincolnshire, Dudley, and Wokingham have reduced or removed funding for \u2018Pride\u2019 events in recent years, citing budget pressures and the need to focus on statutory services.<\/p>\n

However, as Christian Voice reported<\/b><\/a>, it took a grooming and pederasty scandal among local \u2018Pride\u2019 organisers before Surrey County Council withdrew its funding of a \u2018Pride\u2019 event held in Guildford earlier this year. Watch our video:<\/p>\n
