A local council has officially withdrawn its funding and support for a \u2018Pride\u2019 parade.<\/p>\n
For years, Surrey County Council had sponsored Pride in Surrey events, but have withdrawn funding following the conviction of Stephen Ireland, the group\u2019s founder, now sentenced for the sodomy of a 12-year-old boy and multiple child sexual offences according to the Telegraph.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n The County Council even maintained a close relationship with Mr. Ireland despite serious previous safeguarding warnings. Now, after his conviction, officials say they will no longer allocate public money to the group.<\/p>\n This decision sends a vital message which our elite need to hear: public funds must never support organisations that could shield predators.
