Gillian Keegan, Education Minister<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Secretary of State for Education, Gillian Keegan has said she will no longer use the phrase ‘trans women are women’.<\/p>\n

Ms. Keegan told\u00a0 the Telegraph<\/b><\/a>, she had since ‘evolved’ and ‘learnt a huge amount more about this complex and challenging subject’.<\/p>\n

In 2020, responsing to a question from an ‘LGBT’ forum in her Chichester constituency, the Education Secretary made the statement that ‘trans women are women’, adding that trans people should have equal access to safe spaces.<\/p>\n

It comes after Wes Streeting, the shadow health secretary in an interview with the Sun<\/b><\/a> said, he was wrong to say all ‘trans’ women are women.<\/p>\n

His u-turn follows the Cass review,<\/b><\/a> which found that treatments for children questioning their gender are based on ‘remarkably weak evidence’.<\/p>\n

Ms Keegan\u2019s remarks followed Whitehall concern that she has\u00a0not been strong enough, as Education Secretary, in standing up to the influence of trans rights activists\u00a0in schools.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss claimed that she shouldn\u2019t have previously described herself as an ‘LGBT’ ally.<\/p>\n

In an interview with GB News,<\/b><\/a> Ms. Truss explained that she had described herself as an ‘LGBT’ ally in 2021, however, she had only done so to vocally oppose gender self-identity and keep ‘LGBT’ supporters ‘on her side’.<\/p>\n

Who can be trusted?<\/h2>\n

In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend in the UK where leaders have leveraged their positions to espouse woke ideologies, often with the aim of advancing political aspirations or gaining support for personal gains.<\/p>\n

Liz Truss, Gillian\u00a0Keegan, and Wes Streeting are a perfect example of this u-turn.<\/p>\n

Often, irreversible harm may have been inflicted on individuals who embrace these woke ideologies.<\/p>\n

50 per cent cap rule on faith schools to be axed<\/h2>\n

Gillian Keegan is set to axe the 50 per cent cap on faith schools, ending a policy that forces institutions to keep half their places open for children of different religions.<\/p>\n

The Education Secretary is expected to announce the move this week, explaining that it will encourage\u00a0faith schools\u00a0to expand and create more \u201chigh-quality\u201d places for pupils.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Lord David Cameron introduced the cap while in the coalition government with the Liberal Democrats.<\/p>\n

Under current rules, any new faith schools that are oversubscribed can only prioritise pupils based on faith for 50 per cent of its places.<\/p>\n

When the cap was introduced, it was argued that it would stop the proliferation of hardline religious schools. However, ministers feel that the cap has had little impact and instead had the undesired effect of preventing Catholic schools from expanding.<\/p>\n

The Catholic church has argued that turning away children of faith for non-Catholic children was incompatible with canon law.<\/p>\n

The Catholic education service refused to participate in the free schools programme until the Government relented and repealed the cap.<\/p>\n

Officials at the Department for Education believe lifting the cap will encourage Catholic schools \u2013 which are often highly sought after by parents \u2013 to set up new institutions and expand their existing provision by joining multi-academy trusts. The plans will be subject to a seven-week consultation.<\/p>\n

The NHS to finally crack down on woke terminologies<\/h2>\n

After years of allowing Stonewall draft policies,<\/b><\/a> the NHS is set to crack down on transgender ideology in hospitals, with terms like ‘chestfeeding’ to be banned.<\/p>\n

Victoria Atkins, the Health Secretary, will this week announce a series of changes to the NHS constitution which sets out patients\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n

Referring to ‘people who have ovaries’ rather than ‘women’ will also be prohibited under plans to ensure hospitals use clear language based on biological sex.<\/p>\n

The new constitution will\u00a0ban transgender women from being treated on single-sex female hospital wards\u00a0to ensure women and girls receive ‘privacy and protection’ in hospitals.<\/p>\n

Patients will also be given the right to request that intimate care is carried out by someone of the same biological sex.<\/p>\n

It follows concerns from patients about men being allowed in women\u2019s hospital wards.<\/p>\n

The new NHS constitution will emphasise the importance of using ‘sex-specific’ language in the health service after references to women were expunged from advice on the menopause and diseases such as cervical and ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n
