The World Health Organisation’s (WHO) chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is advocating for a global treaty<\/b><\/a> that would grant the WHO authority to oversee the pandemic response of its 194 member states.<\/p>\n While campaigners say It is being spun as merely \u2018updating the International Health Regulations\u2019<\/b><\/a>, others say it is a power grab.<\/p>\n The proposal for such an accord was initiated over two years ago by the WHO’s 194 member states in response to the Covid-19 crisis, which he claim is to \u201cbetter equip nations\u201d for future health emergencies.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Dr. Ghebreyesus, has warned that plans for a global pandemic readiness agreement are at risk of collapse amid disputes and misinformation.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Dr. Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasised that failure to act swiftly could lead future generations to hold “us” accountable for “our” inaction.<\/p>\n Meanwhile,COVID-19 seems to have provided an opening for influential figures, who, the Bible tells us:<\/p>\n Psalm 2: 1-4 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, And cast away their cords from us.
