According to the Home Office\u2019s “gender reassignment and gender identity” policy, “nonbinary” officials can present the gender which matches their identity on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

The guidance, issued in 2010, updated in 2021, and described as \u201ccurrent policy\u201d, says: \u2018This includes practical considerations such as access to premises.<\/p>\n

\u2018The department has introduced dual passes for staff that wish to attend work as more than one gender.’<\/p>\n

Safeguarding issues<\/h2>\n

Miriam Cates, the Conservative MP criticised the policy in an interview with the Telegraph.<\/p>\n

Ms Cates said the nonbinary pass policy poses serious security and safeguarding risks.<\/p>\n

She said: ‘A policy that enables someone working in what should be a secure environment to have a different identity on different days of the week is clearly open to abuse and is unworkable.<\/p>\n

\u2018The obsession of some senior civil servants with pushing gender ideology in the workplace is very concerning’, she added.<\/p>\n

Tear up the Policy<\/h2>\n

The non-binary security pass policy has been condemned by both Miriam Cates and the director of advocacy at the gender-critical group Sex Matters Helen Joyce. Ms Joyce said the policy isn\u2019t just a waste of time and taxpayers\u2019 money, but also discriminatory towards the majority of perfectly sensible civil servants who don\u2019t believe in this nonsense and just want to do their job.<\/p>\n

\u2018These \u201cdiversity champion\u201d roles are clearly being used to push contested beliefs about \u201cgender identity\u201d as something distinct from a person\u2019s sex.<\/p>\n

‘That\u2019s got no basis in either UK law or biological reality. The Home Secretary needs to get a grip and tear these policies up.’<\/p>\n

Workplace or “LGBTQ” campaign ground<\/h2>\n

Almost every workplace in the UK has an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy as stipulated in the Equality Act 2010.<\/b><\/a> Whilst legal frameworks vary across different countries, in the UK the Equality Act 2010 provides legal protection for nine protected characteristics such as age, disability, “gender reassignment”, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.<\/p>\n

However, the EDI strategy is fast becoming an avenue where only those who identify with the “LGBTQ” community have a favourable working environment, and staff with opposing views are either fired or called “homophobic. The workplace is an environment where people work to earn a living, and not being weary of how to express beliefs and views.<\/p>\n

According to the Telegraph, Steve Dann, Chief Operating Officer of Border Force, which is part of the Home Office, wrote a blog on the department\u2019s intranet celebrating \u2018Transgender Day of Visibility\u2019, where he urged officials to use people\u2019s \u201cpreferred pronouns\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the same blog, Jackie Armstrong, described as \u201cDirector of Operational Capabilities Command, Immigration Enforcement (IE).<\/b><\/a> \u201dclaimed to be a \u201cstraight ally\u201d and the \u201cIE LGBT+ champion\u201d.<\/p>\n
