{"id":2186,"date":"2011-11-30T12:17:57","date_gmt":"2011-11-30T12:17:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/?p=2186"},"modified":"2011-12-05T17:29:10","modified_gmt":"2011-12-05T17:29:10","slug":"pray-for-belize-to-stand-firm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/index.php\/pray-for-belize-to-stand-firm\/","title":{"rendered":"Pray for Belize to stand firm"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_2189\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2189\" style=\"width: 259px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/belizeflag.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2189\" title=\"belizeflag\" src=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/belizeflag.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2189\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The flag of Belize<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>A Constitutional challenge has been mounted in Belize to the laws which currently make unnatural acts a criminal offence.\u00a0 A preliminary hearing is scheduled for early in December (2011).\u00a0 We are calling for a mobilization of the church in prayer across the world for our brethren in Belize.\u00a0 If Belize is rolled over by the homosexual juggernaut, the rest of the Caribbean could easily follow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The <a title=\"Constitution of Belize\" href=\"http:\/\/pdba.georgetown.edu\/constitutions\/Belize\/belize81.html\" target=\"_blank\">Constitution of Belize<\/a> (formerly British Honduras) was settled in 1981.\u00a0 It acknowledges the supremacy of God, stresses human rights, freedom and the family.\u00a0 No-one has claimed before now that men suddenly have an inalienable right to commit acts of sodomy and gross indecency under it, especially as it says: \u2018freedom is founded upon respect for moral and spiritual values and upon the rule of law\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The law suit has been filed by an organisation called UNIBAM.\u00a0 UNIBAM is short for United Belize Advocacy Movement, which hides behind concern about HIV\/AIDS but is nothing more than a shameless homosexual rights group.\u00a0 UNIBAM\u2019s court case is fronted by the former UK Labour Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith QC, and has <a title=\"Condemnation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.awid.org\/Library\/More-Belize-churches-condemn-UNIBAM\" target=\"_blank\">drawn condemnation from churches in Belize<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0There has been outrage in Belize at the grant of a substantial sum of money to UNIBAM by the <a title=\"Youtube video\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=F7DXr6XeYAM&amp;feature=related\" target=\"_blank\">Embassy of the United States of America<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The US Embassy website admits that its grant to UNIBAM is for pro-gay propaganda.\u00a0 In their own words, the project: \u2018will increase public awareness about homophobia while creating a safe space for HIV prevention work. The organization will organize a national debate on homophobia and human rights. Other initiatives will include the distribution of wrist bands to raise awareness of the issue, prevention education sessions among LGBT population, and the airing of public service announcements.\u2019\u00a0 <a title=\"US Embassy page\" href=\"http:\/\/belize.usembassy.gov\/pr_10_03_2011_page.html\" target=\"_blank\">View HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Both UNIBAM and another pro-gay group, the Alliance Against Aids (AAA) are totally funded from abroad.\u00a0 The people of Belize themselves are overwhelmingly opposed to homosexuality.\u00a0 In the case of AAA, their money comes mainly from HIVOS, the wealthy Dutch Humanist body.\u00a0 Caleb Orozco, the founder and head of UNICAM, claims to have \u201c\u2018friends in high places\u2019 politically and in the media.\u201d Homosexual <a title=\"'Global Gay to Z' (gay travel magazine)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.globalgayz.com\/country\/Belize\/view\/BLZ\/gay-life-and-work-in-belize-2\" target=\"_blank\">View HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0UNIBAM has also received money from the United Nations Population Fund UNFPA (<a title=\"Opens in new window - see p7\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cornerstonefoundationbelize.org\/aidslinknewsletter\/AIDSLink009.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">see page 7 of this link<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The churches in Belize are mobilizing, <a title=\"Application filed\" href=\"http:\/\/caricomnewsnetwork.com\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=3560:belize-church-joins-state-in-opposing-challenge-to-constitution-by-gay-activists&amp;catid=54:latest-news\" target=\"_blank\">having filed an application to join the action<\/a>. \u00a0They have <a title=\"Seminar held\" href=\"http:\/\/www.plustvbelize.com\/News\/NewsDetails\/tabid\/63\/ArticleId\/1435\/Seminar-on-UNIBAMs-suit-to-be-held-tomorrow.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">held a seminar<\/a>,\u00a0and <a title=\"Belize Action Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/belizeaction.wordpress.com\/2011\/10\/27\/gay-pride-mural-removed-from-orange-walk-town-hall\/\" target=\"_blank\">Belize Action has been set up to oppose UNIBAM<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Dean Barrow, the Prime Minister of Belize, has come out against the move, according to a report from the \u2018<a title=\"Gay Travellers Network\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gaytravellersnetwork.com\/profiles\/blogs\/belize-antigay-laws-challenge\" target=\"_blank\">gay travelers network<\/a>\u2019, who are very interested in having a new exotic location in which to corrupt local youth for a dollar or two.\u00a0 The same website reveals that, astonishingly, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association is backing UNICAM:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Here is the CLA \u2018About us\u2019 page: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commonwealthlawyers.com\/AboutUs.asp#Secretariat\">http:\/\/www.commonwealthlawyers.com\/AboutUs.asp#Secretariat<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Even <a title=\"BMA Article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC1114912\/\" target=\"_blank\">this pro-gay BMJ article<\/a> reveals that homosexual practices are dangerous and unsanitary.\u00a0\u00a0For a more detailed look, supported by research done by homosexual doctors, <a title=\"Dr Paul (not David!) Cameron discusses homosexual practices\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biblebelievers.com\/Cameron2.html\" target=\"_blank\">this scholarly article<\/a> shows the implications for health and morals in Belize from decriminalising these acts of perversion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Meanwhile, right across the Caribbean Sea in Barbados, <a title=\"Wikipedia on LGBT in Barbados\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/LGBT_rights_in_Barbados\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia is wittering on about \u2018LGBT rights\u2019<\/a> or the lack thereof,\u00a0\u00a0the <a title=\"Attorney General of Barbados\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationnews.com\/articles\/view\/not-by-uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Attorney General is laying down the law<\/a>, but\u00a0Ambassador to the USA John Beale is <a title=\"Wet Ambassador\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nycaribnews.com\/news.php?viewStory=828\" target=\"_blank\">sounding a bit wet<\/a>, while some dreadful fat lesbian <a title=\"Fat lesbian urges gay sex tourism in Barbados\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationnews.com\/articles\/view\/dear-cash-in-gay-tourism\/\" target=\"_blank\">wants Barbados to cash in on gay sex tourism<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0African nations have reacted with fury and defiance to pressure from David Cameron and other leaders of decadent Western nations to decriminalise sodomy.\u00a0<a title=\"Guardian article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/2011\/nov\/29\/nigeria-same-sex-marriage-ban\" target=\"_blank\">Nigeria is poised to outlaw gay marriage<\/a>, according to The Guardian (UK).\u00a0 A more balanced and informative article was in the <a title=\"Sun Online Nigeria\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sunnewsonline.com\/webpages\/news\/national\/2011\/nov\/30\/national-30-11-2011-001.html\" target=\"_blank\">Nigeria Sun newspaper<\/a>.\u00a0 The British High Commissioner in Lagos, Andrew Lloyd,\u00a0is furious.\u00a0 &#8216;Britain and other western countries would not tolerate any law that prescribes punishment for gays&#8217;, <a title=\"Sun News Online 5th Dec 2011\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sunnewsonline.com\/webpages\/news\/national\/2011\/dec\/05\/national-05-12-2011-011.html\" target=\"_blank\">said Mr Lloyd<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Despite what the Guardian says about other African countries scrapping anti-gay laws, it&#8217;s all the other way.\u00a0 Zambia and Zimbabwe have said they will not enact gay rights, <a title=\"Pink News (UK)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinknews.co.uk\/2011\/11\/04\/zambia-and-zimbabwe-also-reject-gay-rights-pressure-on-aid\/\" target=\"_blank\">according to a UK homosexual paper<\/a>.\u00a0 (Although we cannot imagine what possessed Morgan Tsvangirai to say <a title=\"What was he thinking?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinknews.co.uk\/2011\/10\/24\/zimbabwe-prime-ministers-says-gay-rights-are-human-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\">he now believes \u2018gay rights are human rights\u2019<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Ghana\u2019s President John Atta Mills said he will <a title=\"Ghana and Uganda in Pink News\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinknews.co.uk\/2011\/11\/03\/ghanas-president-will-never-support-legalising-homosexuality\/\" target=\"_blank\">never enact laws which will \u2018destroy the moral fibre of society\u2019<\/a>, while John Nagenda of the Ugandan Presidential Office said \u201cUganda is, if you remember, a sovereign state and we are tired of being given these lectures &#8230; \u201cIf they must take their money, so be it,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Malawi\u2019s governmental spokesperson Patricia Kaliati said that it was \u201cunfortunate\u201d that Britain was considering \u201cpro-gay strings\u201d to aid, adding that homosexual acts are illegal in Malawi.\u00a0 She noted that such laws are a legacy of British rule, reported Nyasa Times, but the laws were and are entirely consistent with African moral values, even though Britian is now sinking into a swamp of immorality and perversion, <a title=\"Homosexual hate and violence\" href=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/?p=1860\" target=\"_blank\">where homosexuals are now persecuting Christians<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tanzania&#8217;s foreign affairs minister Bernard Membe said: \u201c<a title=\"Reuters News Agency\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/topNews\/idAFJOE7A401020111105\" target=\"_blank\">Tanzania will never accept Cameron\u2019s proposal <\/a>because we have our own moral values. Homosexuality is not part of our culture and we will never legalize it.\u00a0 Tanzania is ready to end diplomatic ties with Britain if it imposes conditions on the assistance it provides to pressurize for adoption of laws that recognize homosexuality.\u00a0 We are guided by our tradition. We have families of a mother, a father and children. What Cameron is doing might lead to the collapse of the Commonwealth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The President of Zanzibar, Ali Mohamed Shein, said that Islamic and Zanzibari culture abhors gay and lesbian activities. \u201cWe cannot compromise our deeply rooted culture or [allow] something which [is] completely against our religion.
