He was\u00a0possibly trying to understand it himself, after a series of U-turns.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, President Trump met NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-us-canada-39585029\" target=\"_blank\">reversed his election stance\u00a0that NATO is obsolete<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0Not any more, not with the threat of terrorism around, Trump\u00a0said, as if terrorism had just popped up since his inauguration. \u00a0 But despite the Moscow meeting, he said US relations with Russia\u00a0are &#8216;at an all-time low&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/tillerson-and-lavrovs-joint-presser-live-updates-2357657352.html\" target=\"_blank\">You probably agree with Mr Tillerson<\/a><\/strong> that &#8216;The world&#8217;s two foremost nuclear powers cannot have this kind of relationship.&#8217; \u00a0If you have the mind of God you are almost certainly praying for peace between them. \u00a0And you probably recognise the threat to the US and UK is not Russia, but Sunni Muslim terrorism.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Russian Aggression&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>But do not suppose everyone in power shares those sentiments. \u00a0A vast majority of US Senators and Congressmen, both Republican and Democrat, think being on bad terms with Russia is just great. \u00a0So does the mainstream media.<\/p>\n<p>The UK&#8217;s Defence Secretary, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/index.php\/replace-michael-fallon-man-peace\/\" target=\"_blank\">the lamentable Michael Fallon<\/a><\/strong>, never misses an opportunity to sour relations with Moscow. \u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/index.php\/christian-voice-astonished-boris-pull\/\" target=\"_blank\">Our\u00a0Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson<\/a><\/strong>, spent last weekend trying to antagonise the Kremlin. \u00a0Our man at the UN, Foreign Office <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/people\/matthew-rycroft\" target=\"_blank\">arch-insider Matthew Rycroft<\/a><\/strong>, is at his happiest insulting Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Rt Hon Philip Hammond is of the same mind. \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/politics\/791000\/Syria-crisis-chemical-weapons-Russia-sanctions-G7-Boris-Johnson-Philip-Hammond\" target=\"_blank\">According to the Daily Express<\/a><\/strong>, the Chancellor told <em>Sky News<\/em>: &#8216;The British Government&#8217;s position has been, and will remain, to lead the way on arguing for a robust approach towards Russian aggression in Syria.&#8217;<\/p>\n<h2>Beautiful missiles<\/h2>\n<p>&#8216;Russian aggression in Syria&#8217;? \u00a0Is this serious grown-up political discourse? \u00a0The Russian Federation has been invited in by the legitimate Syrian government. \u00a0The Syrians have asked Russia for\u00a0help to\u00a0defeat Western&amp;Saudi-sponsored jihadist terrorists together with Islamic State. \u00a0If you want aggression in Syria, look no further than 59 American Tomahawk cruise missiles (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2017\/tv\/news\/brian-williams-calls-missile-strike-beautiful-msn-1202026429\/\" target=\"_blank\">beautiful missiles, so we hear<\/a><\/strong>) fired into Syria by the US last week.<\/p>\n<p>Does Mr Hammond seriously believe the British people are so stupid, or so unable to get online, that he can persuade us of something which is palpably, demonstrably, blatantly untrue? \u00a0He just brings himself in particular, and politicians in general, into ridicule and contempt. \u00a0If it were not so serious, it would be laughable.<\/p>\n<p>As it happens, Mr Hammond was defending his colleague and successor as Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. \u00a0The latter went to Monday&#8217;s\u00a0G7 meeting boasting of his plans for\u00a0new sanctions against Russia.\u00a0 In the event, he\u00a0failed to persuade the other European leaders even to look at them.<\/p>\n<h2>Beautiful babies<\/h2>\n<p>But why are British and American Neo-Cons so\u00a0desperate\u00a0around the &#8216;Assad must go&#8217; line? \u00a0No, it isn&#8217;t concern about &#8216;beautiful babies&#8217;, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/articles\/2017\/04\/07\/trump-just-discovered-the-slaughter-of-syria-s-beautiful-babies.html\" target=\"_blank\">as Donald Trump described them<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0The Emo (emotional) stuff does not extend\u00a0to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/2017\/04\/trump-kills-beautiful-babies-in-syria-because-killing-children-is-horrible.html\" target=\"_blank\">the four children killed by his Tomahawks<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of course. \u00a0Nor to the Yemeni babies our &#8216;allies&#8217; from Saudi Arabia are bombing in Yemen. \u00a0Nor to\u00a0the Iraqi babies the US has accidentally bombed in Mosul.<\/p>\n<p>Iraqi \u00a0babies are not so beautiful as Syrian ones. \u00a0Especially when they are buried under tons of rubble from a US air-strike. \u00a0And of course, President Trump doesn&#8217;t want the beautiful babies and their &#8216;helpless&#8217; parents <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/teachingnonviolentatonement\/2017\/04\/syrias-beautiful-babies-confront-trumps-hypocrisy\/\" target=\"_blank\">pitching up in America as refugees any time soon<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>No, it&#8217;s not the alleged gas. \u00a0That&#8217;s just more Emo. \u00a0And quite possibly false flag. \u00a0It isn&#8217;t that Assad &#8216;fires on his own people&#8217;. \u00a0Our allies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-middle-east-12975832\" target=\"_blank\">the Bahrainis<\/a> use brutality against &#8216;their own people&#8217;. \u00a0So do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/media\/2014\/apr\/08\/campaign-al-jazeera-journalists-imprisoned-egypt-tape-mouths-100\" target=\"_blank\">the Egyptians<\/a>. \u00a0And President <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frontpagemag.com\/fpm\/194290\/brutality-turkey-michael-van-der-galien\" target=\"_blank\">Erdogan of Turkey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2017\/apr\/07\/how-pictures-of-syrias-dead-babies-made-trump-do-unthinkable\" target=\"_blank\">As Luke Harding put it in the Guardian<\/a><\/strong>: &#8216;A few days earlier Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, said it was necessary to accept &#8220;political reality\u201d in Syria. Up to this point Trump had been a longstanding sceptic of US military action. Back in 2013 he tweeted that the president, <a class=\"u-underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/barack-obama\" data-link-name=\"auto-linked-tag\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\">Barack Obama<\/a>, should refrain from intervening and \u201cstay away and fix a broken US\u201d. The \u201crebels\u201d, he added, were \u201cjust as bad as the Syrian regime\u201d.&#8217;<\/p>\n<h2>Then Trump was &#8216;got at&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>But since 2013, in fact even since the 2016 campaign trail, Donald Trump is now President of the United States. \u00a0He is trying to get legislation through Congress and political appointees confirmed. \u00a0Day after day we have heard relentless allegations about contacts with Russian officials, as if these were a bad thing. \u00a0There has been constant unsupported drivel about Russians hacking the Democrats. \u00a0Republican Congressmen have been as bad as their Democrat counterparts with the anti-Russian rhetoric. \u00a0If the public\u00a0are punch drunk from it, imagine what it is like for the man in the middle.<\/p>\n<p>It\u00a0must be that constant pressure which finally brought the President to ditch all his pre-election pledges about keeping out of the Middle East, draining the swamp, etc, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Ivanka, of course, is married to Trump advisor Jared Kushner. \u00a0Kushner is a wealthy\u00a0American real estate investor and developer. \u00a0He has some business links to the swamp Trump vowed to drain. \u00a0He started off in Goldman Sachs, and knows that bank&#8217;s\u00a0Gary Cohn, who is now Trump&#8217;s economic advisor. \u00a0His political contacts on the other hand appear limited. \u00a0So although Ivanka may have been the catalyst for intervention, she could have pushing at an open door.<\/p>\n<p>Because, just after the alleged gas attack, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2017\/04\/04\/politics\/john-mccain-syria-trump-cnntv\/\" target=\"_blank\">Senator John McCain was describing White House inaction<\/a><\/strong> as &#8216;disgraceful&#8217;. \u00a0\u00a0When it came to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson&#8217;s declaration that the Syrian people alone should determine who lead them, McCain described that as &#8216;one of the more incredible statements I&#8217;ve ever heard.&#8217;<\/p>\n<h2>Beautiful Chocolate Cake<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10479\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10479\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/index.php\/beautiful-babies-missiles-chocolate-cake\/cake\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10479\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10479 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/cake-300x272.jpg\" alt=\"BBC's beautiful chocolate cake\" width=\"300\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/cake-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/cake.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10479\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">BBC&#8217;s beautiful chocolate cake<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>So Ivanka&#8217;s\u00a0missiles started flying. \u00a0Yesterday President Trump revealed he told Chinese premier Xi Jinping about the missile strike over dessert. \u00a0&#8216;And we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you\u2019ve ever seen,&#8217; he told\u00a0 Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business. \u00a0Full of himself, he went on: &#8216;So I said, we\u2019ve just launched 59 missiles, heading to Iraq&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/trump-syria-dessert-3337600-Apr2017\/\" target=\"_blank\">An astonished Miss Baritromo corrected him<\/a><\/strong>: &#8216;Heading to Syria?&#8217; \u00a0Unabashed, Trump steamed\u00a0on, &#8216;Yes, heading toward Syria. And I want you to know that.&#8217; \u00a0It was a masterclass in how a friendly interviewer can bring out\u00a0more damaging information than a hostile one.<\/p>\n<p>Trump even boasted that all the missiles hit their targets when <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2017\/04\/08\/syri-a08.html\" target=\"_blank\">we know some hit surrounding villages<\/a><\/strong>, causing civilian deaths.<\/p>\n<h2>But why?<\/h2>\n<p>So now we know roughly how it came to pass that Trump allied himself with the warmongers. \u00a0We do not yet know what drives the warmongers themselves. \u00a0Why do they like tensions with Russia? \u00a0Why must Assad go? We know it isn&#8217;t altruism or genuine concern about babies, however beautiful. \u00a0Seek the Lord in prayer, as I shall, leave your comments below and I&#8217;ll try to draw it all together after the Easter break.<\/p>\n<p>Scripture tells leaders not to &#8216;go with the flow&#8217;:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exodus 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leaders must be even-handed:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Flip-flopping between policy is not commended:<\/p>\n<p><strong>James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But every ruler needs wise and God-fearing counsel:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbs 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Indeed,\u00a0if Trump carries on\u00a0doing evil, seeking war, acting erratically, his position will fall:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbe 16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Trump must never forget what brought him into the White House in the first place &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbs 29:18 \u00a0Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Prayer over Easter<\/h2>\n<p>Please pray into this whole situation. \u00a0Lift up the world&#8217;s leaders, and your own in particular, in prayer. \u00a0And look at this: This year, 2017, Easter Sunday is the same date in both Western and Eastern traditions. \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gmarts.org\/index.php?go=413\" target=\"_blank\">It does not often\u00a0happen like that (list of dates)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It means our Orthodox brothers and sisters in Russia and Syria will be celebrating the resurrection of\u00a0the Lord Jesus this coming weekend, the same as us Western-calendar folk.<\/p>\n<p>I cannot believe a coincidence like this is from nowhere. \u00a0The Lord has given an opportunity for believers world-wide to lift up the name of the risen Lord on the same day, at such a crucial time as this. \u00a0And during the Jewish Passover 10-day feast as well! \u00a0How awesome is that?<\/p>\n<p>Finally,\u00a0here is a positive snippet for you. \u00a0On Monday 10th April 2017, President Trump celebrated the start of the Jewish Passover at a Seder dinner in the White House. \u00a0And who started that tradition? \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpost.com\/Diaspora\/Presidential-Passover-Trump-to-host-seder-in-White-House-486677\" target=\"_blank\">One Barack Obama<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.petitions24.com\/stand_with_syria_christians\" target=\"_blank\">Please sign our petition to stand with the Christians of Syria<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em><strong>And click the links below to share:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News has emerged that President Trump&#8217;s emotional line about &#8216;beautiful babies&#8217; in\u00a0Syria&#8217;s Khan Sheikhoun came about after pressure from his daughter Ivanka.
