{"id":790,"date":"2011-08-24T20:28:16","date_gmt":"2011-08-24T19:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/?page_id=790"},"modified":"2011-08-24T21:45:25","modified_gmt":"2011-08-24T20:45:25","slug":"islam-versus-the-bible","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.christianvoice.org.uk\/index.php\/test-menu\/islam-versus-the-bible\/","title":{"rendered":"Islam versus the Bible"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(Koran: Yusuf Ali\u2019s translation.\u00a0 Holy Bible: King James Version)<\/strong><br \/>\nIs Allah, the god of Islam, the same as the God worshipped by Christians?\u00a0 If he is, then the Koran will agree with the Bible.\u00a0 And if the Koran does not agree with the Bible, we can safely assume it is coming from another spirit entirely.\u00a0\u00a0 Let us see what each has to say on certain topics:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zachariah, father of John the Baptist:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 19:10 \u00a0(Zakariya) said: &#8220;O my Lord! give me a Sign.&#8221; &#8220;Thy Sign,&#8221; was the answer, &#8220;Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights, although thou art not dumb.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Luk 1:18\u00a0 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.<\/p>\n<p>Luk 1:19\u00a0 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.<\/p>\n<p>Luk 1:20\u00a0 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.<\/p>\n<p>Nine months later:<br \/>\nLuk 1:62\u00a0 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.<\/p>\n<p>Luk 1:63\u00a0 And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.<\/p>\n<p>Luk 1:64\u00a0 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ishmael or Isaac?:<\/strong><br \/>\nAt the Muslim feast of Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims celebrate their erroneous belief that Abraham was about to sacrifice Ishmael, the son of his wife\u2019s servant Hagar, regarded as father of the Arabs, rather than Isaac, the son of his wife Sarah, the father of Israel .<\/p>\n<p>Gen 22:7\u00a0 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?<\/p>\n<p>Gen 22:8\u00a0 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.<\/p>\n<p>Gen 22:9\u00a0 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enemies:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 2:190 \u00a0Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you,<\/p>\n<p>Sura 2:191 \u00a0And slay them wherever ye catch them<\/p>\n<p>Sura 2:194 \u00a0If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him.<\/p>\n<p>Luk 6:27\u00a0 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,<\/p>\n<p>Luk 6:28\u00a0 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus; mere man or God incarnate:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 3:59 \u00a0The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: &#8220;Be&#8221;. And he was.<\/p>\n<p>Sura 5:17\u00a0 In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: &#8220;Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary?<\/p>\n<p>Sura 5:75\u00a0 Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger;<\/p>\n<p>Joh 1:1\u00a0 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.<\/p>\n<p>Joh 1:14\u00a0 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Holy Trinity:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 5:73 They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.<\/p>\n<p>Sura 5:116 And behold! Allah will say: &#8220;O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah&#8217;?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mat 28:19\u00a0 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:<\/p>\n<p>Joh 20:28\u00a0 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.<\/p>\n<p>1Jo 5:7\u00a0 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christ as the Son of God:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 9:30 \u00a0Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; Allah&#8217;s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!<\/p>\n<p>Sura 19:35 (Mary) \u00a0It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son.<\/p>\n<p>Sura 23:91 \u00a0No son did Allah beget,<\/p>\n<p>Luk 3:22\u00a0 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.<\/p>\n<p>Joh 3:16\u00a0 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christ\u2019s Crucifixion:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 4:157 \u00a0\u00a0they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, \u2026 for of a surety they killed him not:-<\/p>\n<p>Mat 27:35\u00a0 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.<\/p>\n<p>1Co 2:2\u00a0 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.<br \/>\nJesus, Second Person of the Holy Trinity:<\/p>\n<p>Sura 9:31 \u00a0(they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).<\/p>\n<p>Act 2:36\u00a0 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Phi 2:10\u00a0 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;<\/p>\n<p>Phi 2:11\u00a0 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.<\/p>\n<p>1Jo 5:7\u00a0 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are we certainly saved?:<\/strong><br \/>\nNo: Sura 5:40 \u00a0Knowest thou not that to Allah (alone) belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth? He punisheth whom He pleaseth, and He forgiveth whom He pleaseth: and Allah hath power over all things.<\/p>\n<p>Yes: Rom 10:9\u00a0 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saved by our works or by God\u2019s grace?:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 9:102\u00a0 Others (there are who) have acknowledged their wrong-doings: they have mixed an act that was good with another that was evil. Perhaps Allah will turn unto them (in Mercy) \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Psa 103:12\u00a0 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.<\/p>\n<p>Eph 2:7\u00a0 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Eph 2:8\u00a0 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:<\/p>\n<p>Eph 2:9\u00a0 Not of works, lest any man should boast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Covenant with Death:<\/strong><br \/>\nSura 9:52 Say: &#8220;Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things- (Martyrdom or victory)? But we can expect for you either that Allah will send his punishment from Himself, or by our hands.
