NATIONWIDE AND THE ‘BIGOT’ AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHY A NATIONWIDE MEMBER PLANS TO ASK A QUESTION AT TODAY’S AGM<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nationwide Building Society is to be challenged at its AGM today<\/a><\/strong> over its sponsorship of a homosexual lobby group’s ‘Bigot of the Year’ award last year.
\nNationwide member Stephen Green, who was shortlisted for the Stonewall award in November 2011 along with the respected Sir Brian Souter, Bishop Arthur Roche, Bill Walker MSP and the eventual winner, journalist Melanie Phillips, plans to put down a question at the AGM and challenges Graham Beale to answer it.<\/p>\n

Nationwide sponsored ‘Bigot Award’ dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stonewall is Britain’s most wealthy homosexual lobby group. It has a finger in every government pie. It charged \u00a3180 a ticket (\u00a3150 plus VAT) for its awards dinner, which Nationwide Building Society also sponsored, at which it gave out awards to people who had advanced the homosexual cause.\u00a0 It also vilified those it viewed as its leading opponents by classing them as ‘bigots’.<\/p>\n

Not one of those shortlisted was invited by Stonewall or Nationwide to attend, which was a further discourtesy.<\/p>\n

The Nationwide Board should apologise<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stephen Green says: ‘I want to know how much money Nationwide gave to Stonewall awards dinner, whether they knew the nature of the event they were sponsoring, whether Nationwide Board members attended, whether Nationwide support the redefinition of marriage, one of Stonewall’s key aims, and when they will find the courage to apologise for bank-rolling an event which insulted and humiliated not just a humble Nationwide member like me, but respected public figures.<\/p>\n

‘No-one on the Nationwide Board of Directors has yet been man enough to say sorry to any of the individuals concerned, and I think they should.’<\/p>\n

Why does Nationwide support Stonewall bullies?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a statement, Nationwide said they are ‘not supportive of the vilification of individuals’ and that they ‘have made this clear to Stonewall’.\u00a0 They have pulled out of sponsoring future events.\u00a0 However, they remain as members of Stonewall and its ‘Diversity Champions’ programme.\u00a0 Nationwide say this on their website about what they call ‘Sexual Orientation’:<\/p>\n

‘Diversity at Nationwide isn’t just about complying with the law and having an Equal Opportunities policy in place, we want all of our people to feel supported at work so we are active members of Stonewall, the leading national lesbian, gay and bisexual organisation.\u00a0 As a Stonewall Diversity Champion we are committed to making our workplace the best it can be. For everyone.’<\/p>\n

No-one is saying that Nationwide should not treat all its employees equally, but why does that mean they have to support an organisation which\u00a0 bullies and browbeats its opponents and which is demanding we all redefine marriage away from the God-given understanding that it is between a man and a woman?<\/p>\n

A campaign of deceit<\/strong><\/p>\n

Homosexual activists have won politically-correct status among politicians as well as huge changes in the law by a clever, but we say deceitful, five-pronged campaign:<\/p>\n

(1) They claim to be 10% of the population on the basis of the dishonest Kinsey Report.\u00a0 The true figure from proper academic research is around 1.5%.<\/p>\n

(2) They claim they were born that way, refusing to accept the evidence of ‘ex-gay’ men and women who have turned their backs on the gay lifestyle and been released from their homosexual desires.<\/p>\n

(3) They insist they just want to live their lives in peace, yet they hold intimidating gay pride parades and their paid activists campaign for laws to silence dissenting voices and force all of us to respect their immorality.<\/p>\n

(4) They do all they can to avoid discussing the reality of their abusive, dangerous sexual practices, framing their arguments instead in terms of ‘human rights’.<\/p>\n

(5) They pretend their lives are just the same as everyone else’s, despite academic studies revealing promiscuity levels and associated ill-health in the gay world unheard of even in today’s sex-obsessed heterosexual society.<\/p>\n

Diversity and Inclusiveness for some …<\/strong><\/p>\n

Homosexual activists demand diversity and inclusive- ness but do not extend it themselves to other people who in conscience cannot accept their way of life.
\nChristian hotel owners Peter and Hazlemary Bull were taken to court by a pair of gay men because they wouldn’t let them a double room.\u00a0 The fact that the Bulls won’t let a room to any couple who aren’t married cut no ice with these men – or with the court.<\/p>\n

Housing officer Adrian Smith was demoted and had his pay slashed by his employers, Trafford Housing Trust just for saying that full gay marriage, demanded by Stonewall, was ‘an equality too far.’<\/p>\n

Nationwide undermine foundation of human society<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nationwide no doubt want ordinary people to invest money with them, but how many of those going into Nationwide branches know that they support a lobby group dedicated to overturning Christian morality?<\/p>\n

When the Lord Jesus Christ spoke about sexual morality, he quoted from the first book of the Bible, Genesis:<\/p>\n

‘From the beginning,’ Jesus said, ‘God made them male and female.\u00a0 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife. And they twain shall be one flesh.’ (Gospel of Mark Chapter 10:6-8)<\/p>\n

So Jesus taught heterosexual love and marriage, which has been the foundation of human society since the dawn of time.<\/p>\n

Is it right for Nationwide to use its members’ money to support an anti-Christian, divisive and selfish political movement advocating unnatural acts and undermining the very foundation of society?<\/p>\n

Britain was mighty, now we’re broken<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally, we hope you will allow us to explain why our faith makes us care about our society and this issue.<\/p>\n

We believe God created the world and gave us laws to live by.\u00a0 God’s Commandments can never be repealed although nations and individuals rebel against them.<\/p>\n

Nations are judged in this world by means of the natural and social calamities that come upon them.\u00a0 Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for their wickedness, which included the sin of sodomy.\u00a0 Patriots sing that God made Britain a ‘Land of Hope and Glory’.\u00a0 Today, even David Cameron describes Britain as ‘broken’.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the effects of national sin are all around us.<\/p>\n

Jesus Christ said ‘Love the Lord your God and love your neighbour as yourself.’\u00a0 That is why Christians have a duty to speak out about right and wrong in our nation.<\/p>\n

Every nation, every family and every business which wants to be blessed in its activities needs to honour the Lord of heaven and earth, stop doing wrong, and start doing right.\u00a0 We call that ‘repentance’.<\/p>\n

‘If the Son make you free, ye shall be free indeed’<\/strong><\/p>\n

God will forgive and bless a nation or business which turns round and admits it has done wrong.\u00a0 And for the individual, each one of us can find in Jesus salvation, healing and forgiveness for every bad thing we ever did.<\/p>\n

When Jesus died on the cross he took on himself all the sins of all those who would believe in him and by rising from the dead he gave those believers a new life.<\/p>\n

After his resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven, and now has the right to rule over all the kingdoms of the world.\u00a0 Not only is Jesus King, but he is also the righteous judge.\u00a0 One day He will return in judgment, to justify His believers and condemn the wicked.<\/p>\n

How will the bosses of Nationwide stand in that day?\u00a0 And how will you stand before Almighty God?<\/p>\n

‘The way, the truth and the life’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many people think they are going to heaven who do not realise that nothing and nobody who is not holy before God can be admitted.\u00a0 We have all sinned and our sin will keep us out.\u00a0 So how do we get there?<\/p>\n

Only Jesus Christ is the way to heaven.\u00a0 He said: ‘I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’\u00a0 He also said:\u00a0 ‘For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life’ and ‘Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.’ Those promises still stand today.<\/p>\n
