With virtually all the results in, it is clear the people have had enough of the Labour Party and are not too pleased with the Conservatives either. They are now looking to Reform for hope. These are the results to date, according to the BBC, with most counting now done:

England:
Reform: 1444 (up 1442 seats)
Labour: 997 (down 1406 seats)
Liberal Democrats: 834 (up 151 seats)
Conservatives: 773 (down 557 seats)
Greens: 515 (up 374 seats)
Independents: 199 (up 27 seats)
Other 36 (down 41 seats)

Scotland:
Scottish National Party 58 seats 6 seats lost
Labour 17 seats 4 seats lost
Reform UK 17 seats 17 seats gained
Scottish Green 15 seats 6 seats gained
Conservative 12 seats 19 seats lost
Liberal Democrat 10 seats 6 seats gained
Change since 2021. 65 seats needed for a majority.

Wales:
Plaid Cymru 43 seats 20 seats gained
Reform UK 34 seats 34 seats gained
Labour 9 seats 35 seats lost
Conservative 7 seats 22 seats lost
Green 2 seats 2 seats gained
Liberal Democrat 1 seat 1 seat gained
Change since 2021. 49 seats needed for a majority.

England

The people’s revolt in England was driven on the surface by the failure of successive governments to keep their promises to stop illegal immigration, by a crime wave, by Labour’s perplexing positions on gender, by the costs of energy, food and housing, by declines in living standards and by a general pessimism. This is the first generation for centuries where people do not expect to do as well as their parents did.

But under the surface, the spiritual reality is that immigration has been driven by rebellion against the Lord, by a deliberately elitist anti-Christian multiculturalism, exalting ‘the climate’ over prosperity, food and energy security, attacking God’s institution of the family, even his creation ordinance of ‘male and female’, making it harder to work for a living, which scripture says is the ’gift of God’, by overbearing, unscriptural levels of taxation and forgetting the divine function of the state is to maintain law and order and security.

As results were being announced, at least one senior UK Labour government figure was acknowledging a widespread public feeling of insecurity. Defence Secretary John Healey stating that, ‘You can’t feel hopeful if you don’t feel secure’. Having been let down by ‘the uniparty’, voters felt they had nothing left to lose.

Working-class revolt

Ordinary, working-class people are feeling the insecurity most. Writing in Spiked Online, Brendan O’Neill ventured:

“It’s a seismic realignment. It feels like an unspoken, unbloody revolt: the calm but firm defeat of two-party politics by working-class communities who feel that such a system no longer represents them. Who feel, in fact, that the knackered duopoly, whether as a result of its moral cowardice or its strangulation by bureaucracy, is incapable of pursuing the restoration of sovereign integrity and social wisdom that they are crying out for.

“Labour and its media sympathisers will comfort themselves today with talk of a ‘bloody nose’ from ‘voters who just want to be heard’, when in truth we could be witnessing as radical a transformation of the political landscape as the founding of the Labour Party itself was in 1900. We could be witnessing another reasoned intrusion of working-class voters into a political realm that they feel is too small, smug and insular to contain, far less enact, their political desires. …

“Such is the flux of our era that much might change again between now and the General Election. Yet no one can look at England this morning and deny that the masses have executed a coup against a complacent regime by choosing Reform as the new vessel of their moral hopes.”

Scotland

Anyone concerned about the stability of the United Kingdom will be pleased that the Scottish National Party (SNP) did not win outright in Scotland. However, they could form a government with the Scottish Greens, who are also in favour of independence and alignment with the EU.

The SNP flip-flopped on drilling in the North Sea to try to keep the North-East on side, but in general they are pro-Net Zero. They also join the Greens in their post-truth transgenderism.

Of course the last SNP-Green coalition ended in disaster in 2024. Then SNP first minister, Humza Yousaf, threw them out before being ejected himself. But we shall see. Either way, the biblical pattern for leadership, that leaders at every level should be:
Exo 18:21 … able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; …
Seems as long a way off in Scotland as anywhere else in the United Kingdom.

Wales

Plaid Cymru (PC: Party of Wales) are now the biggest party in the Senedd, despite propping up the previous Labour administration on everything from 20mph streets, pro-migrant ‘nation of sanctuary’, extreme sex education (when is sex education ever not extreme?), Net Zero and stopping farmers from growing food.

Around the lanes, it was a puzzle to see Plaid Cymru placards outside farms. Turkeys were voting for Christmas, ignoring PC’s pro-trans policies and their anti-farm dogma, in favour of the cosy thought that at least Plaid were very Welsh.

So it is a mercy that in Wales, the advocates of independence do not have the numbers even to take office with the Greens. Will Labour join a coalition with them after their resounding defeat? Who knows? The psalmist prayed for confusion amongst his enemies.

It is probably also a mercy for Reform that they did not win in Wales. The system would have been against them, obstructing their every move. They now have the opportunity to watch how it works and prepare to take control next time while harassing the Plaid Cymru establishment, pointing out the antagonism of the ‘Party of Wales’ to Welsh farmers, parents, security, society, enterprise and decency.

Foreign languages

We must pray against the rise of Islam under the Green Party banner in England. One Don Keith tweeted: ‘Green Party “victory” video shows zero English spoken. A room full of foreign languages celebrating their takeover of a British council. This is what replacement looks like in real time.’

On GB News a Green Party member, one John Grant, reacted to members of his party making an announcement in a foreign language during their campaign for London’s Newham: ‘I didn’t understand a word of what he said… it does make me a little uncomfortable I can’t deny’. He should be more than ‘uncomfortable’.

In majority-Muslim ghetto areas, sectarian campaigns were being conducted in Urdu or Bengali, focussing on ‘Palestine’ rather than potholes. Pretending Israel is conducting ‘genocide’ in Gaza took precedence over local, or even UK, issues.

The people need leaders of faith

If it is God who sets up kings, then the result is indeed a seismic shift from on high. But it remains that the people need leaders who can grasp the spiritual dimension and operate under the blessing of Jesus Christ, driven by the power of the Holy Spirit. They need to be, not just nominal Christians, but God-fearing men.

Young Britons Trapped on Benefits Since the Pandemic

0
PIP indolence

A growing number of young Britons have remained dependent on benefits since the Covid-19 pandemic, with many struggling to gain a foothold in employment. Analysis of according to the Department for Work and Pensions figures shows that people who turned 18 during the pandemic years are significantly more likely to still be claiming Universal Credit several years later compared to previous generations.

Data indicates that more than 34,000 people now aged 24 have continuously relied on Universal Credit since the age of 18, representing almost one in 20 of those who reached adulthood in 2020. The figure has more than doubled compared with statistics from two years earlier.

Universal Credit supports people who are unemployed, on low incomes, or outside education and training. Experts say the rise reflects the long-term impact of the pandemic, which disrupted early career opportunities for many young adults.

During lock-downs, workplaces shut down, staff were furloughed, and many businesses moved to remote working, limiting younger people’s access to employment experience, workplace mentoring, and career development at a critical stage of life.

The shadow work and pensions secretary, said: “The Government’s taxes and red tape are killing jobs for young people.”

The Conservatives have accused this government of “killing jobs” for young people and creating a generation dependent on benefits for life.

According to Daily Telegraph, Helen Whately, the shadow work and pensions secretary, said: “The Government talks about tackling NEETs, but their taxes and red tape are killing jobs for young people. Keir Starmer is too weak to rein in welfare spending. Meanwhile, Rachel Reeves’s economic illiteracy is destroying opportunities for young people.

“Labour is content to park a generation on benefits. Teenagers are drifting out of school and straight onto benefits. Instead of starting a job, they’re signing on. For too many, benefits are becoming a way of life.
“Being out of work when you’re young isn’t just about money – it destroys confidence, delays independence and kills ambition. This is how a jobless generation begins.”

Sir Iain Duncan Smith, the former Conservative leader and former work and pensions secretary, said school closures during Covid had “severely damaged” young people’s prospects.

“The shutting of the schools was a disaster. A lot of the kids, especially the poorer kids, didn’t come back,” he said.

Sir Iain said a lack of economic growth had also reduced opportunities for first-time workers. “The economy itself has been put into a stranglehold … it’s not growing so a lot of those first-time jobs aren’t there.Any part-time work has become too expensive, cutting out the stepping stone to employment.”

Britain’s Loneliness Crisis ‘Off the Scale’

Britain’s loneliness crisis is reaching alarming levels, despite the country becoming the first in the world to appoint a minister for loneliness almost a decade ago. Research from the Centre for Social Justice shows young people are now among the loneliest in society, with 70 per cent of 18-to-24-year-olds reporting feelings of loneliness, compared with 32 per cent of those over 75.

Experts say this is no longer simply about being alone, but about a deeper sense of emotional and social disconnection. The Centre for Social Justice found that almost a third of young Britons experience what it describes as “existential loneliness”, a feeling of separateness from other people and society itself. Government data from the Community Life Survey also found people aged 16 to 24 reported the highest levels of indirect loneliness in the country.

The Collapse of Community and ‘Third Spaces’

Britain's loneliness epidemic exposed as breakdown of traditional values and 'sicknote culture' to blame: 'Off the scale!'
Britain’s loneliness epidemic exposed as breakdown of traditional values and ‘sicknote culture’ to blame: ‘Off the scale!’

Psychologists and community leaders have linked rising loneliness to the disappearance of what are often called “third spaces”, places outside the home and workplace where people naturally build relationships. These include churches, youth groups, community centres, social clubs, and amateur sports leagues.

Clinical psychologist Meg Jay said loneliness has worsened as screen time increasingly replaces face-to-face interaction. She noted that young men in particular are experiencing growing isolation, with online life replacing physical community and real social engagement.

At the same time, many local institutions that once held communities together have declined due to austerity measures, rising running costs, and changing social habits. Churches that once served as centres of fellowship and support have seen falling attendance, while many social clubs and local groups have closed altogether.

Welfare Dependency, Work Culture in Decline

Britain’s growing “sicknote culture” and rising levels of long-term economic inactivity have become a major concern for policymakers, businesses, and economists. According to the Office for National Statistics , the number of people economically inactive because of long-term sickness rose to more than 2.5 million after the COVID-19 pandemic. The UK Government has linked this rise to factors including NHS waiting lists, long COVID, worsening mental health, and broader health inequalities.

Business groups have warned about the wider economic impact. The British Chambers of Commerce described long-term sickness as “blighting” the UK economy, stating that almost 7 per cent of the workforce is now out of work due to long-term illness — significantly higher than in countries such as Japan.

The issue has also triggered political debate over Britain’s so-called “sicknote culture”. Government reviews have raised concerns that the current fit-note system may be too quick to sign people off work entirely rather than supporting phased or flexible returns to employment.

Other Warnings

Concerns about loneliness and social breakdown have appeared repeatedly in recent years. During and after the COVID-19 lockdowns, charities and mental health organisations warned of lasting emotional damage caused by prolonged isolation, especially among young people and the elderly.

The Age UK has repeatedly highlighted the growing number of elderly people living in silence and isolation, while reports from the Office for National Statistics have shown increasing levels of loneliness among younger generations despite constant digital connectivity.

Church leaders and community organisations have also warned that Britain is losing many of the institutions that once brought people together. Falling church attendance, the decline of community groups, and growing dependence on online interaction have all been cited as contributing factors behind weakening social bonds and rising emotional isolation.

Repentance and Restoration

Britain’s loneliness crisis cannot be solved by government programmes alone. Behind the statistics lies a deeper moral and spiritual problem: the breakdown of family life. Many churches, community halls, and faith centres that once provided support, belonging, and human connection are struggling to survive under rising financial pressures, including energy bills, maintenance costs, and taxation burdens.

Across the country, churches have warned that increasing operating costs are forcing some places of worship to reduce activities or close entirely. According to the National Churches Trust, thousands of church buildings face financial uncertainty due to soaring costs and declining resources. These closures matter because churches are not only places of worship—they are centres of fellowship, pastoral care, youth activities, food banks, and social interaction.

At the same time, Britain’s cultural debates have become increasingly focused on gender identity and trans activism, while young people continue to suffer isolation and lack of purpose. The endless culture wars and identity confusion do little to address the deeper emotional and spiritual emptiness affecting many young Britons.

What Britain needs is not more policies, but moral restoration, stable families, strong communities, open churches, and godly leadership rooted in truth, compassion, and responsibility.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Nanosermon Script:

‘Put on the Gospel Armour, each piece put on with prayer.’ That’s what the hymn says and we find the Gospel Armour in Ephesians Chapter six and verses thirteen to seventeen.

In this NanoSermon we’ll look at the final two verses, which speak about your defensive and offensive equipment. If you have jumped in here without looking at my Nanosermon on the Gospel Armour clothing because weapons seemed more exciting than girdles and shoes, go away and look at ‘Gospel Armour – clothing’ first. You’ll look silly with a helmet and a shield and nothing round your waist, won’t you?

In that previous NanoSermon we saw that every Christian is in a spiritual war. We remembered that when a man goes to war, the army issues him with equipment. And we said it’s just the same here. Our great commander has given you items of clothing, defensive apparatus, and a weapon. We’ll just remind ourselves of the whole passage:

Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The shield of faith

OK. We have our loins girt about with truth, we have our integrity and righteousness as a breasplate and we have our Gospel footwear, to proclaim that Jesus Christ is King of kings.

We can now pick up the shield of faith. It’s a theme in the psalms:

Psalm 115:11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

The Lord is our shield if we will only trust him, so that is why it’s the shield of faith.
We can never have enough faith, but faith is a gift of God, so you can pray for it – and you only need a little – a mustard seed – to achieve a lot.

Breastplate and helmet

We hear a lot about the Gospel armour being modelled on what a Roman Soldier wore, but it actually goes back further than that. The Apostle draws on a passage in Isaiah chapter fifty-nine, which says of God:

Isaiah 59:17a For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head;

In first Thessalonians the helmet becomes the HOPE of salvation, in the King James Version at least, but it’s not hope as in ‘I hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow’. The word means expectation, or confidence. Now a helmet protects your head, which contains your brain, that’s your mind, the centre of your intellect and reasoning.

So how will confidence in your salvation protect your mind? Well, you will know the justification which our Lord Jesus bought for you on the cross, you will be working out the sanctification process of walking in God’s ways, and you will expect the Lord to protect you from satanic attacks on your reasoning. You’ll be certain that God IS, that Christ died for you, that the Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, and that the Devil cannot touch you.

Scripture: your offensive weapon

Suitably clad and defended, you’ll need an offensive weapon. Now you might think prayers are weapons. But on reflection, you’ll recognise that prayers are actually your communications system with the commander. If a stronghold comes tumbling down, it will be his artillery, also known as his grace, that did it in response to your prayer.

Your weapon, the Apostle says very clearly, is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Lord Jesus used the word of God three times against Satan. You can defeat the enemy with scripture as well. But you need to get into your Bible, read it, study it and pray into it. It’s your sword. Always keep it by you, polish it, sharpen it, care for it, know it, and get a grip of it.

Now suitably clad, defended and armed you can pray for his strength as you go into battle.

Has the BBC Become Uncomfortable for Christian Presenters?

David Harper is now a born-again Christian
David Harper is now a born-again Christian

A BBC presenter has revealed he was advised by colleagues in television to tone down his public expression of Christian faith following his recent conversion. He says he has no intention of doing so, even if it puts his broadcasting career at risk.

The Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip presenter, who has recently described himself as a born-again Christian, says his faith has had a profound impact on both his personal outlook and professional identity. Speaking in an interview with GB News, Mr. Harper said he now feels “braver” in expressing his beliefs publicly, even if that openness could create tensions within the television industry.

He added that he is aware his openness may come at a professional cost. According to the new believer, he has been told by some people within television that he should tone down his religious expression in order to avoid potential complications in his career. However, he was clear that he has no intention of doing so.

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

“Willing to Give up Television”

Mr. Harper said: “Well, certainly, I’m more free as a Christian, as an individual,” he said. “And I think I’m braver in willingly, you know, opening up my thoughts.

“I think it may well cause me problems on TV,” he said. “Some people, I know in television, have suggested that it could, that I need to maybe just quieten down my new Christian faith. Well, I’m not going to.

“I’d like to continue with my TV as a Christian presenter and antiques presenter,” he said. “But if it does have a negative effect, and I have to choose between being on TV and earning my wages from TV, and having not talk about Christianity, I will take the Christianity and not earn the money from TV, if that makes sense.”

David Harper’s comments come after what he describes as a deeply personal journey towards Christianity, which he says was triggered by observing a significant change in his daughter Hetty’s mental health. He claims she experienced a period of severe depression before embracing Christianity, which prompted him to begin his own investigation into the faith.

“It Hit Me Like a Steam Train”

“I went on a very deeply personal 11-month investigation into Christianity. Is Christianity true?” he said.
During that period, Harper said he also explored alternative belief systems, including Buddhism and Stoic philosophy, as part of a broader search for meaning. He described material success and professional achievement as ultimately unsatisfying.

“Buying a new car, get a bit of joy for about a day, and it would wear out. Make some money, joy for two days. It would wear out. Getting a job on TV. Great, but it wasn’t fulfilling,” he said.

Harper, who is known for his work presenting antiques programmes, said he initially approached Christianity in the same way he might research historical objects—by examining evidence, documentation, and historical claims. However, he said the process became more personal over time.

“It hit me like a steam train, and I broke down,” he recalled. “I realised, in that moment, that doctors couldn’t help my daughter, but something fixed her. And that’s something was Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, literally, saved my daughter’s life. It has changed my life, and I’ve literally, I genuinely found out the purpose of meaning of life,” he said. “The joy and the happiness that is free to anybody and everybody. You can’t buy it, you can’t bribe it. You can’t get given it. It’s free.”

His comments add to an ongoing public debate about the place of personal faith in broadcasting and whether presenters should be expected to separate private convictions from on-screen roles.

A Wave of Persecution

There have been a range of reported situations across different sectors where Christians say they have felt pressure to keep their faith private or adjust how openly they express it at work, particularly in environments where gender policies are strongly enforced. In healthcare, some NHS and care workers have said they were advised not to discuss faith with patients unless explicitly invited, and in some cases felt discouraged from visibly expressing religious identity through symbols or from sharing personal moral views in clinical settings.

In education, teachers have reported concerns about expressing Christian beliefs in staff room discussions or on social media, with some being either banned, sacked, or saying they felt constrained when speaking on moral or cultural issues for fear of complaints or disciplinary action. In corporate workplaces, employees have described being told to avoid discussing religion in informal settings or to moderate language when addressing topics such as marriage or ethics so as not to breach inclusion policies, which they sometimes interpret as pressure to self-censor.

In media and broadcasting, including situations similar to those described by David Harper, presenters and public-facing figures have said they were advised to tone down or keep private their religious views to maintain perceived neutrality, particularly where audience reaction or institutional reputation is a concern.

In the civil service and wider public sector, some staff have reported uncertainty about expressing faith-informed perspectives in policy discussions, feeling that strict impartiality expectations can make religious expression feel professionally risky. On social media, there have been cases where Christians say they have faced workplace consequences for posts made in a personal capacity, with employers arguing reputational risk while individuals argue they were expressing private belief.

Why is Britain Failing Its Jewish Communities?

Two Jewish men stabbed in London, police treat attack as terrorism | Reuters
Two Jewish men stabbed in London, police treat attack as terrorism | Reuters

There is growing concern among British Jews that repeated incidents of antisemitic violence are not being matched with a strong enough response.

On 29 April 2026, a violent stabbing took place in Golders Green, North London—an area with a significant Jewish population. A man armed with a knife attacked people in the street, reportedly targeting Jewish community.

Two victims, a man in his 70s and another in his 30s, were seriously injured and taken to hospital. Police responded, using a taser to subdue the attacker before arresting him at the scene. The incident has been formally declared a terrorist attack, reflecting both its severity and the suspected intent behind it.

Investigators confirmed that the suspect is a 45-year-old “British national born in Somalia”, with a history of violence and “mental health” concerns. Counter-terrorism police are now leading the investigation.

This attack comes amid a wider pattern of antisemitic incidents across London and the UK, including vandalism, arson attempts, and attacks on Jewish institutions.

The “Mental Health Card”

Alexander Lewis-Ranwell: The triple killer who was arrested twice - Facebook
Alexander Lewis-Ranwell: The triple killer who was arrested twice – Facebook

Mental health has been raised early in this case, as it often is in high-profile incidents. While it is a legitimate factor in the justice system, the timing and emphasis of its use matter. In some cases, it risks becoming the primary explanation before other factors such as motive or intent have been fully examined.

This concern is not theoretical. There are well-documented cases where mental health has significantly altered legal outcomes. In the UK, Alexander Lewis-Ranwell was found not guilty by reason of insanity after killing three elderly men in 2019, and was detained in a secure hospital rather than prison. In the United States, John Hinckley Jr. was acquitted on insanity grounds after attempting to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, and was held in psychiatric care for decades. Similarly, Andrea Yates was found not guilty by reason of insanity after drowning her five children, with the court accepting that severe mental illness affected her understanding of her actions.

These cases show that mental health is not a minor consideration, it can fundamentally shape the direction and outcome of serious criminal cases. In UK law, the test for insanity centres on whether the individual understood their actions or knew they were wrong, as outlined by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The issue, therefore, is not whether mental health should be considered, but how and when it is introduced. If it becomes the dominant explanation too early, it can narrow public understanding and shift focus away from establishing full motive and context.

Proverbs 18:17 He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.

A Strong Pattern

The Golders Green attack followed a pattern of incidents in the same area. Jewish-owned ambulances belonging to a volunteer emergency service were destroyed in an arson attack in March 2026, while synagogues in Finchley and other parts of North London were targeted with firebombs and attempted arson.

Violence has also escalated beyond vandalism. In October 2025, a terrorist attack on a synagogue in Manchester during Yom Kippur left three people dead and several injured, marking one of the most serious antisemitic attacks in recent British history.

Taken together, these incidents point to a consistent pattern: attacks on Jewish people, places of worship, and community services occurring within a short period of time. For many, the issue is no longer whether antisemitism exists, but whether the response to it is sufficient, consistent, and effective.

Social Cohesion and Integration

This attack raises wider questions about social cohesion in modern Britain. Calls for unity must be matched with honest discussion about how communities live alongside one another.

The Casey Review found that in some areas communities live “parallel lives”, with limited interaction and low levels of English use, creating barriers to communication, access to services, and mutual understanding.

There are also tensions around how religious practices are expressed in public spaces. Issues such as gender separation during Islamic organised prayers have drawn criticism from figures including Kemi Badenoch, who has argued that public life in Britain should reflect the country’s commitment to equality.

Recent incidents have further highlighted these challenges. In 2022, a teacher at Batley Grammar School went into hiding after showing a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad, raising questions about the balance between religious sensitivity and freedom of expression under UK law. Concerns about antisemitism have also been recorded. The Community Security Trust has reported spikes in antisemitic incidents, including cases linked to extremist rhetoric following international events.

Together, these examples point to a consistent issue: the gap between UK legal principles such as free expression, equality, and the rule of law, and differing expectations shaped elsewhere.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

The Reality of Antisemitism

The attack has intensified concern within the Jewish community, particularly in areas like Golders Green. While investigations are ongoing, and two arrests have been made, the broader pattern is already clear.

The Muslim community will always see the Jews as their enemy. The Islamic Koran says Jews are in enmity to Muslims. They are classed as the worst of unbelievers.

Allah, we read, will defeat them:
Surah 3 verse 178 says Unbelievers will have a shameful punishment.
In Surah 4;101: Unbelievers are unto you open enemies.

Antisemitism is widely condemned, yet responses can sometimes appear cautious when it comes to addressing its sources or acknowledging its persistence. That caution, even if well-intentioned, can be interpreted as hesitation.

Addressing antisemitism requires consistency, clarity, and a willingness to confront uncomfortable realities. Without that, reassurance alone risks sounding hollow.

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Political Response

Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack as “utterly appalling” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tackling antisemitism.

Other political leaders issued similar statements—strong in tone, but familiar in structure. Condemnation and reassurance are necessary, but they are not sufficient on their own.

Communities affected by repeated incidents are increasingly looking for more than statements. They are looking for evidence of clear action and a willingness to confront difficult issues directly.

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

King Addresses US Congress

0

King Charles’s address to the US Congress on Tuesday 28th April was a master-class in diplomacy, as it needed to be, timing, and disarming comedy. His Majesty has been in the game of public speaking a long time, and all that experience showed through. He is very good at it. Watch it here:

The 250th anniversary of the 1776 US Declaration of Independence will fall on 4th July this year, and the King exhibited his trademark light touch in marking it. The 119th Congress House of Representatives gave him no fewer than 12 standing ovations.

As to the detail, I was not aware people, even of the king’s era, still used the expression ‘by Jove’. It’s a reference not to ‘Yehovah’ but to Jupiter, apparently. He could have done without it.

Not ‘Diversity’ again!

We also had three references to ‘diversity’. In the first he shoehorned this modern fad into the doings of the US Founding Fathers who, he claimed, drew ‘strength in diversity’ as they ‘united 13 disparate colonies’. The unity of the colonies was in reality a product of their shared Christianity.

Secondly, King Charles contended: ‘In both of our countries, it is the very fact of our vibrant, diverse and free societies that gives us our collective strength.’ You’ll be aware that ‘strength in diversity’ is the Establishment mantra supporting their multicultural fantasy, repeated in HM’s 2025 Christmas message, by politicians after the Bondi beach massacre and by Sir Keir Starmer. It is never explained, no evidence is ever produced for it, but if a lie is repeated often enough…

The third reference was on the inevitable environmentalism. His Majesty claimed the ‘ice-caps of the Arctic’ are ‘disastrously melting’, which is debatable, and he spoke of ‘critical natural systems, which threatens far more than the harmony and essential diversity of nature’. That, of course, was the theme of his 2010 book ‘Harmony’.

When His Majesty speaks on public policy, he speaks on behalf of His Majesty’s Government. But it would be too easy to think he just read something prepared by civil servants. The whole tenor of it had ‘Buckingham Palace’ stamped all over it, especially in the well-researched historical references. And indeed, on multiculturalism and climate fanaticism, the Palace and Whitehall are these days inseparable.

Christian faith an ‘anchor’

Apart from all that, it was good to have a reference to the ‘hope’ of Easter and to hear this from King Charles: ‘And, Mr Speaker, for many here – and for myself – the Christian faith is a firm anchor and daily inspiration that guides us not only personally, but together as members of our community.’

Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

The day after, His Majesty visited ‘Ground Zero’, the site of the Twin Towers massacre of 11th September 2001, without mentioning Islam, of course, and on 30th April HM and Queen Camilla honoured the fallen at Arlington Cemetery. There were other engagements, SEE HERE but these were the important ones for diplomacy.

Overall, we should pray His Majesty’s speech, and his state visit, will repair the current fractured relationship between the US and UK. That is why it was essential for him constantly to stress how much the US and UK have in common.

Prayer

Right now, the Argentinian government is threatening the Falkland Islands with apparent US support. We have reported on this in the context of the woke and effete leadership of armed forces, sinking in a moral morass.

Diplomacy over a glass of wine
Diplomacy over a glass of wine

Therefore, pray that behind the scenes His Majesty will lobby Donald Trump to row back the Pentagon’s rocking of the boat and to stand unequivocably with the right of the Islanders to stay British and with UK sovereignty over this valuable resource.

Please also remember to pray for His Majesty and the royal family daily. On the basis that prayer should lead to action, you can write to His Majesty and tell him you are praying for him and commend and/or admonish him: ‘His Majesty The King, Buckingham Palace, London, SW1A 1AA’. You can open with ‘Sir’ (although I write: ‘May it please Your Majesty’) and close the letter with the form ‘I have the honour to be, Sir, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant’.

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. (KJV – which His Majesty loves!)

How Long Will the Righteous Be Slain in Nigeria?

Are attacks on Christians in Nigeria on the rise? - BBC News Creator: Getty Images

More Nigerian Christians have been brutally murdered in fresh attacks. Gunmen killed at least 29 people in the country’s north-eastern Adamawa state.

The Islamic State group (IS) has said it was behind the attack, without specifying its motive.
Armed militants, linked to Islamic State affiliates, stormed a gathering at a football match, opening fire indiscriminately and surrounding the village for hours. Survivors recount scenes of chaos as worshippers, families, and young people fled for their lives, many cut down where they stood.

Eyewitness accounts describe how attackers split into groups, encircling the community and shooting residents on sight. Homes, churches, and livelihoods were destroyed in what many are calling a deliberate attempt to erase Christian presence in the region.

State governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri condemned the killings as an “affront to our humanity,” promising increased security. Yet for grieving families burying their dead, such statements offer little comfort.

Psalm 34:19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Recent attacks

Just days before, 12 Christians were murdered in another Adamawa attack, where militants also burned a church building, further deepening fear among believers. Earlier this month, almost 400 people were sentenced during mass trials for their links with militant Islamist groups Boko Haram and its rival splinter group, the Islamic State West Africa Province (Iswap).

In 2009, Boko Haram launched an insurgency in Nigeria’s north-east leading to the deaths of tens of thousands of people and displacement of more than two million in the years since, according to aid groups.

The jihadist conflict has spread to neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon. The calculated nature of these attacks suggests not random violence, but a sustained campaign of terror.

According to the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety), over 52,000 Christians have been killed, and 18,000 churches and 2,200 Christian schools destroyed by Islamist extremists.

Psalm 10:8 He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent.

A Pattern of Persecution Across Nigeria

Beyond Adamawa, the bloodshed continues across Nigeria with alarming regularity. In Kwara State earlier this year, extremist militants reportedly carried out one of the deadliest massacres in recent history, killing over 160 people in coordinated village attacks after residents refused to submit to extremist demands.

In Borno State, suicide bombings in Maiduguri claimed at least 23 lives and left over a hundred injured, further demonstrating the widespread reach of terror groups. These attacks, often linked to Boko Haram or Islamic State affiliates, show a consistent pattern: civilian populations, including Christians, are primary targets.

Even smaller-scale assaults reflect the same disturbing trend. In Kaduna State, gunmen attacked a Christian village, killing worshippers during an Easter service and abducting a priest along with others. Churches have been burned, congregations scattered, and entire communities displaced.

Despite these repeated atrocities, Nigeria’s government response has largely been reactive. Officials issue condemnations and deploy security forces after attacks occur, but preventative measures remain insufficient. The persistence of these killings raises serious concerns about the state’s ability—or willingness—to protect its most vulnerable citizens.

Ecclesiastes 4:1 I saw the tears of the oppressed—and they have no comforter.

The United States Steps In

President Donald Trump labels Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” — warns U.S. military aid could be slashed.

Amid growing international concern, the United States has begun taking a more active role in Nigeria’s security crisis. Earlier in 2026, U.S. troops were deployed to advise and support Nigerian forces in combating extremist groups.

This intervention reflects mounting global recognition that Nigeria’s instability has far-reaching consequences. However, despite these efforts, attacks on Christian communities have not subsided. Reports indicate that Islamic State-linked groups continue to operate with deadly effectiveness, even after targeted operations against them.

Some analysts argue that while U.S. involvement may strengthen military capacity, it does not address the deeper ideological and structural issues fuelling the violence. Extremist groups remain deeply embedded, exploiting weak governance, poverty, and local tensions.

For many Nigerian Christians, international intervention offers a glimmer of hope, but also a sobering reality. External support alone cannot end the persecution unless it is matched by decisive and sustained action within Nigeria itself.

Psalm 94:3 LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

Voices of Faith Rise in Condemnation

Religious leaders across Nigeria and beyond have strongly condemned the killings, describing them as barbaric and unjustifiable. Christian organisations have called for urgent prayer, international awareness, and concrete action to protect vulnerable communities.

Local church leaders, often ministering in the midst of violence, have spoken of unimaginable grief but unwavering faith. Many continue to hold services even after their churches have been destroyed, demonstrating resilience in the face of relentless persecution.

Global Christian bodies and advocacy groups have echoed these calls, urging governments to recognise the scale of the crisis. Some have described the situation as a slow-burning genocide, warning that silence from the international community only emboldens attackers.

At the same time, Muslim leaders and interfaith groups within Nigeria have also condemned the violence, emphasising that these acts do not represent true religious teaching. Their voices highlight the need for unity against extremism, rather than division.

A Call to Action for the Global Church

The ongoing attack of Christians in Nigeria demands more than headlines, it calls for a response. For believers worldwide, this is a moment to stand in solidarity through prayer, advocacy, and support for affected communities.

Churches and Christian organisations are increasingly mobilising to provide aid, rebuild destroyed homes, and care for widows and orphans left behind by these attacks. Yet the scale of the crisis means much more is needed.

Governments, particularly in the West, are being urged to prioritise religious freedom in their foreign policies and hold Nigerian authorities accountable for protecting all citizens. Diplomatic pressure, targeted sanctions, and humanitarian assistance could play crucial roles.

Ultimately, the suffering Church in Nigeria stands as both a warning and a witness. A warning of what unchecked extremism can do—and a witness to enduring faith in the face of unimaginable darkness. The global Church must not look away.

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.

Nanosermon Script:

Let’s look at the death penalty. We’ll turn to Genesis chapter nine and see if we can understand what God is saying for us in our time.

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

The first thing we notice is, it’s a command, not an option. The second thing we see is the reason given. The death penalty for murder is there because each one of us, however lowly, is made in the image of God. Thirdly, The sons of Noah would repopulate the earth, so when God says in verse nine:

Genesis 9:9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

We see his command forms part of an agreement between God and the whole of mankind. Fourthly, this isn’t a transient law, like the temple sacrifices, which became redundant when Christ was crucified. It’s for then, now and for ever.

Rainbow confirms death penalty

In return, God promised never again to send a flood over all the earth, and he gave a confirming sign:

Genesis 9:12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

As long as somewhere on earth the sun is shining through rain onto some clouds and making a rainbow, the death penalty is still in force. The Apostle Paul spoke under the New Covenant when he confirmed the death penalty in Acts chapter twenty-five. In verse eleven he said:

Acts 25:11 For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: …

Institution of Nation State

Here’s my fifth and final point: This command marks God’s institution of the nation state. We see this a few verses on:

Genesis 9:18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.
Genesis 9:19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.

In Genesis chapter ten we read of the formation of those nations whose legal system God established right here in Genesis chapter nine. As God loves peace and justice, the death penalty is there to make human society function peacefully and equitably.

Look, when Cain murdered Abel in Genesis chapter four, he was banished by God. God did not slay him, and nor was anyone else allowed to. Why? Because the only people alive at that time were Cain’s family. The family is the first social institution God put in place, but family members may not execute each other.

A macabre trick

Only the state has been mandated by God’s authority to put offenders to death, after due process of law including hearing two or three witnesses to the actual event. Not ‘beyond reasonable doubt’. Two or three actual witnesses. I do believe forensics could be a witness, but not the mere opinion of some so-called expert in cot death, for example.

So you can see that legislators in Britain in the nineteen-sixties played a macabre trick when they first abolished capital punishment and then passed the Abortion Act. They took the death penalty away from the state, on the guilty, where it belongs, and placed it on the innocent, in the family, where it does not.

Satan must rub his hands in glee at the shedding of innocent blood which today goes unpunished from both sides of that evil equation. The Bible says innocent blood defiles the land and I believe Satan derives power from it as well.

I don’t like the death penalty. Maybe you don’t either. But every time I see that bow in the cloud I have to remember that it is a righteous act, for all people and for all time, and that its absence in our nation means our land is defiled. And that brings God’s judgment on us all.

Commonwealth must resist ‘green’ colonialism

The British Commonwealth Heads of Government are scheduled to meet in early November this year. The Caribbean island of Antigua has been chosen as the destination for the bi-annual CHoGM.

With many members of the Commonwealth fitting into the ‘developing nations’ category, this is an opportunity for us to encourage them to follow the King of kings in their policies, to build and to plant, increase their prosperity by obedience to Christ, and to stand against the inevitable pressure from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to legalise what God hates.

For years, the secularist nations, having forgotten the Lord on high, have tried to move motions designed to advance homosexuality, transgenderism, sex education and ‘Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights’ (SRHR), abortion rights, in other words, across the developing world. Each time, as we have previously reported, the African and Caribbean nations have resisted. But the pressure remains.

Neo-colonialism goes green

Now, there is a new threat and a new focus for cultural imperialism. Neo-colonialism has gone green; the West is now using climate change to hold the developing world back.

In the past, the focus of financial bodies like the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) was all on development, with a dose of privatisation thrown in.

But now, writing on Spiked Online, author Austin Williams says: ‘They no longer tell subservient nations how they should develop. Instead, they nudge developing countries to consider whether they want to develop at all. In the name of the environment, they are encouraging developing countries to stay where they are, undisturbed by anything as alien as economic progress.’

Exporting the Western Death Wish

If they are to develop at all, they must now rely only on intermittent ‘renewables’ like wind and solar power. Western government are still exporting their social death-wish, but now, they have added their NetZero ingredient.

The United Kingdom is to the fore in this unbiblical foreign policy, and needs to repent. And this ministry can bring a scriptural, spiritual dimension to which those Commonwealth nations which remain largely-Christian can respond.

READ: Deut 28, 30:15-19; Psalm 71:16; Isa 26:4; Mark 12:30; 1Tim 6:15.

PRAY: If the Lord wills and provides, we shall go. Please pray and seek the Lord on this matter. Also pray that the nations of the developing world will resist the death-wish our leaders have imposed on this United Kingdom. Pray also for our leaders to repent and turn to Jesus Christ and our Christian constitution.

Why our Armed Forces are in a moral morass

0
Gen Sir Roly Walker trying to defend the Army in front of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee.
British Troops recover the Falklands in 1982
British Troops recover the Falklands in 1982

At a time when Argentinian politicians have renewed demands on the Falkland Islands, apparently supported by the United States Pentagon, we have to ask whether our armed forces could even try to defend the British Overseas Territory.

The Telegraph reports that our Attorney General, Richard (Lord) Hermer, has insulted British troops, persecuted them in the courts, and hailed Keir Starmer’s ‘groundbreaking’ work suing soldiers. Would those currently in office even want to resist claims over the Falklands? Could they if they wanted to?

RAF cadet suspended over Islam claim

Last month, Spiked Online reports an RAF cadet was suspended after he said Islam poses the greatest security threat to the UK, while taking part in a training exercise. He made the comment during a question-and-answer session in which he and other cadets were asked about dangers to British security.

Group Captain Lizzy Nicholl resigned over the RAF diversity poilcy. (Credit: Sky News)
Group Captain Lizzy Nicholl resigned over the RAF diversity policy. (Credit: Sky News)

It led to him being kicked off the officer-training course, pending an investigation. This is the same RAF, let us recall, which was forced to compensate 31 white male applicants after officers introduced diversity targets to increase women and ethnic minority recruits at the expense of those recruiters described as ‘useless white male pilots’.

Group Captain Lizzy Nicholl, head of RAF recruiting, resigned in August 2022 over the pressure to implement this policy. That’s right, a woman was in charge of RAF recruiting. But she could see how wrong the RAF’s diversity policy was.

‘It’s extremism, not Islam!’

Rear Admiral Chris Parry (rtd)
Rear Admiral Chris Parry (rtd)

Even while defending him, a senior officer had to be politically correct. the Mail reports that retired Rear Admiral Chris Parry accused the RAF of shutting down the ‘critical thinking’ of new officers around controversial issues and said the cadet should be reinstated.

He went on: ‘Clearly Islamic extremism is the issue and not Islam, but how are young people expected to develop critical thinking around these complex issues if they are shut down in this way?’

The Iftar in Trafalgar Square on Monday 16th March 2026, Ramadan's 'Night of Power'
The Iftar in Trafalgar Square on Monday 16th March 2026, Ramadan’s ‘Night of Power’

But hang on. Only last month we reported on the Trafalgar Square Iftar, described by Nick Timothy MP as as ‘act of domination’. Are the hundreds of Muslims who took part in that demonstration extremists, or ordinary Muslims posing no threat?

When polled, three quarters of Muslims praise Hamas for the 7th October 2023 atrocity and say Israel has no right to exist. Jihad, antisemitism and sexual abuse are written into the Islamic scriptures. Despite all that, our elites, including retired admirals, have to toe the multicultural line.

Blame ‘manosphere’, not us!

Also last month, the Telegraph reported General Sir Roly Walker, Chief of the General Staff, blaming the online ‘manosphere’ for ‘sexist’ behaviours among young recruits when asked by the Commons Defence Select Committee how he proposed to protect female personnel in the Army.

Gen Sir Roly Walker trying to defend the Army in front of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee.

Sir Roly’s appearance came after an inquest last year found the Army had failed to take action after Gunner Jaysley Beck endured sexual harassment from a superior officer in the months before she took her own life.

It was all down to social media misogyny, said the Chief of the General Staff. It could not possibly be a lack of discipline or basic Christian morality causing NCOs to prey on young female recruits, could it?

Army’s ‘Values and Standards’

For that matter, what did they expect when they placed young women and young men together in a military environment? Sir Roly admitted recruits ‘are between the ages of 17-and-a-half and 20’. Feminists demanded women serve alongside men in barracks, on ships, and our politicians agreed. What could possibly go wrong?

Gunner Jaysley Beck. Took her own life when the Army failed to support her when she was sexually assaulted by a senior officer unaware of the Army's 'Values and Standards.
Gunner Jaysley Beck. Took her own life when the Army failed to support her when she was sexually assaulted by a senior officer apparently unaware of the Army’s ‘Values and Standards.

Sir Roly was surely right to observe ‘The level of sexualisation of young people in society, the level of exposure to drugs, drink, alcohol, violence in wider society’. He said recruits come in with ‘behaviours which are at odds with our values and standards.’ But it was a married Warrant Officer who assaulted Gunner Jaysley, a very senior respected NCO. Was he not aware of the Army’s ‘values and standards’?

In 2021, the Atherton report said the MoD and armed forces were failing to protect female personnel. Sir Roly boasted to the Committee that ‘for the first time, there is a woman serving at every rank of the British Army.’ How did that protect Jaysley Beck and all the other young women who have been sexually assaulted in the armed forces?

Armed Forces need repentance

Without wholesale repentance, a rooting out of secularism and a return to Christ and the muscular Christian standards which were a part of the ethos of our armed forces even up to the time of the Second World War, the decline will continue. And the Falkland Islanders might want to get armed, and trained, as a matter of urgency.

How the SNP Spent £1m of Taxpayers’ Money on Paparazzi

0

The SNP has spent £1m renting cars for staff to visit benefits claimants’ homes and assist with applications. Figures obtained by The Telegraph show that Social Security Scotland (SSS) spent £953,758 in under two years hiring vehicles from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

More than 6,300 cars were hired during this period, averaging around 240 rentals per month at a cost of £36,683. In 2024 alone, 3,173 hires cost over £425,000, followed by 2,708 hires costing more than £450,000 the previous year. A further 400 hires were recorded in January and February this year, costing approximately £78,500, though these figures remain unaudited.

The majority of spending is attributed to Local Delivery teams who travel to assist claimants in completing forms, providing advice, and conducting checks across all 32 local authority areas in Scotland.

Support NCCSS / Christian Voice →

Scope of Services and Justification

Social Security Scotland maintains that this level of spending supports its commitment to face-to-face services, allowing claimants to apply for benefits in the way that suits them—whether online, by post, phone, or in person. Advisers assist with completing applications, verifying identity, and explaining assessment processes, with meetings taking place in homes, community venues, hospitals, and prisons. The agency argues this approach reflects its founding principle of delivering social security with “dignity, fairness and respect”. However, this broader access contrasts with the more targeted model used by the Department for Work and Pensions, where home visits are generally limited to those with complex needs.

This expanded service sits within a wider Scottish system already under scrutiny, with recent reports highlighting concerns over rising welfare costs, low fraud detection rates, and increasing financial pressures on the public budget.

1 Corinthians 4: 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Financial Pressures and System Design

Social Security Scotland administers 15 benefits, covering both payments devolved from Westminster and additional schemes unique to Scotland. Funding is largely determined by per-person welfare spending levels in England and Wales, meaning that any expansion or increased generosity within the Scottish system must be financed from Scotland’s broader public services budget. This creates a structural pressure: as demand rises or policy becomes more expansive, the financial burden shifts directly onto devolved resources that also fund health, education, and local services.

Auditors have warned that this gap between allocated funding and actual expenditure is projected to reach
£2bn by the end of the decade. This forecast reflects not only the scale of current commitments but also the trajectory of policy decisions that increase eligibility or payment levels beyond UK-wide benchmarks. In practical terms, this places sustained pressure on long-term fiscal planning, requiring either budget reallocation, efficiency savings elsewhere, or increased revenue to maintain balance.

The system’s operational model also contributes to this dynamic. “Light-touch” reviews allow existing claimants to confirm that their circumstances have not changed with minimal reassessment, reducing administrative burden but also limiting ongoing verification. Alongside this, the broad accessibility of services—including in-person support for a wide range of claimants—adds further cost layers to delivery. Despite this, only 29 fraudulent claims have been identified over the past two-and-a-half years, a figure that has been cited in discussions about oversight, efficiency, and the balance between accessibility and control within the system.

Political and Public Response

Alexander Stewart, the Scottish Conservatives’ social security spokesman, criticised the scale of spending, describing it as excessive and questioning the necessity of extensive travel to assist with what are often standardised application processes.

He said: “It is outrageous that Scots are being forced to foot the bill for the SNP’s benefits agency squandering tens of thousands of pounds each month on hiring rental cars.

“These staggering figures are further evidence of [First Minister] John Swinney’s light-touch approach to delivering benefits.

“The taxpayer is literally paying for SNP government officials to travel the country to help people fill in forms – which we know in many cases are tick-box – and ultimately claim benefits.”

In response, the Scottish National Party said: “While the Tories scream into the void about how they’d slash taxes for millionaires on the backs of cuts to disabled people, the SNP is firmly focused on the priorities of the people of Scotland under the reliable and trusted leadership of John Swinney.”

Social Security Scotland reiterated that face-to-face engagement is a core part of its delivery model, allowing advisers to provide direct support across a range of settings, including homes and community venues.

Wreckless Welfare Spending

This issue sits within a broader pattern of scrutiny surrounding devolved welfare spending. Previous reports have highlighted rising costs linked to expanded benefit provision and administrative delivery, alongside concerns raised by auditors about long-term financial sustainability and oversight. The combination of increased expenditure, operational scale, and policy design has led to ongoing debate about how to balance accessibility with efficiency, particularly as pressures on public finances continue to grow.

The exchange between political parties reflects these competing priorities: on one side, a focus on cost control and proportionality of service delivery; on the other, an emphasis on accessibility and claimant support. As scrutiny of public spending intensifies, the question of how resources are allocated within social security systems remains a central issue in both political and public discourse.

Public Spending Under Scrutiny

Across England, local councils have faced similar criticism over expenditure on so-called “vanity projects.” These include rebranding exercises, new logos, marketing campaigns, and investment in town centre developments or public art installations that have not consistently delivered measurable benefit. Such spending has often occurred alongside reductions in essential services, including social care provision and community support, raising concerns about whether limited public funds are being allocated in line with immediate local needs.

Within the National Health Service, spending on diversity, equality and inclusion roles and programmes has continued to rise, including funding for training schemes and external consultancy. This comes at a time when the service is facing persistent staff shortages, record waiting lists, and increasing pressure on frontline care. The contrast between administrative and advisory spending and the strain on core medical services has prompted ongoing questions about priorities and whether resources are being directed where they are most urgently needed.

At a national level, the NHS Test and Trace programme remains one of the most significant examples of contested public spending. With costs exceeding £30 billion, the programme was heavily reliant on private consultants and characterised by high administrative expenditure. Subsequent scrutiny highlighted concerns about its effectiveness relative to its cost, with questions raised over procurement decisions, oversight, and whether the outcomes justified the scale of public investment.

Similarly, the UK’s UK PPE procurement programme involved billions in emergency spending on protective equipment, but later reports identified substantial quantities of unusable stock, contracts awarded at speed with limited competition, and continuing costs for storage and disposal. Alongside this, spending on Whitehall office refurbishments and upgrades to government estates has also drawn attention, particularly as departments continue to operate under financial constraints. Taken together, these examples have contributed to a broader debate about accountability, efficiency, and the management of public funds.

Assisted Suicide Bill runs out of time

0

As Parliament approaches prorogation, expected on 30th April ahead of local elections and the new session beginning with the King’s Speech on 13th May, the Assisted Suicide Bill has failed to progress through the House of Lords.

The Bill has fallen. In the end, it was not a dramatic vote that halted the Bill, but the quiet, immovable force of parliamentary time. Alarmed by the bill’s many shortcomings, peers tabled thousands of amendments. There was simply not enough time to debate all their concerns.

Legislation must pass through all required stages before prorogation. This Bill did not. With the parliamentary session closing, it simply falls away.

No shortcuts. No last-minute manoeuvres. The House of Lords exists, in part, to ensure that serious and irreversible measures are not rushed. Assisted suicide is precisely that kind of measure, final, weighty, and impossible to undo.

Time has done what we prayed it would do: it has slowed the process enough to stop this ungodly measure.

Eccl 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and There is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. (KJV)

Bill’s supporters furious

The BBC reports the bill’s supporters are furious:

‘Labour MP Kim Leadbeater who introduced the bill in the Commons, said there was a “real sense of sadness and sorrow” at its failure to pass.

‘However, she insisted there was “appetite” for the legislation to return and said she was “confident” it would do so.

‘Speaking at a news conference after the bill fell, she argued that peers in the House of Lords had held up the legislation adding: “This isn’t what democracy looks like”.’

Not in any party manifesto

‘(Mrs) Leadbeater said there were MPs willing to take the same bill on during the next session should they be successful in the Private Members’ Bill ballot, which allow MPs to propose legislation and can guarantee debating time on Friday sittings.

‘Supporters of assisted dying say they have so many MPs lined up they are confident it will come back in the next session. One told the BBC more than 100 are ready – and another 100 could be persuaded.’

However, Tanni, Baroness Grey-Thompson said the bill, which she opposed, failed as there were “tonnes of holes in it” and it had arrived in the Lords with a “very clear message” from MPs to make improvements. Watch Tanni on on Good Morning Britain.

It is possible the Parliament Acts could be used to prevent peers blocking the legislation again, but this procedure was last used in 2004 to push through a ban on fox hunting. It has never been used for a private member’s bill. It is also possible another dozen or so Mps will change their minds if the matter does come back and vote the bill down. And despite Kim Leadbeater’s pleas to ‘democracy’, this monstrosity was in no party manifesto.

Trans woman charged with sexual assault jailed

0

A transgender prisoner has been charged with sexually assaulting a female inmate at a Scottish jail.

Alexandra Stewart, previously known as Alan Baker, is alleged to have carried out the attack at the mixed-sex HMP Greenock in Inverclyde.

Police were called in to probe the allegations against the gender-swap inmate, and officers later confirmed that Mr. Stewart had been arrested and charged.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old prisoner has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault within HMP Greenock. The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), said a “report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal”. Meanwhile, a Scottish Prison Service (SPS) spokesperson said: “As this matter is subject to proceedings it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

The alleged incident comes amid an ongoing legal battle between For Women Scotland (FWS) and the Scottish government over the management of transgender prisoners.

Transgender Woman Steps Down From Charity role

Transgender woman has stepped down as parliamentary adviser for an endometriosis charity following a backlash.

Steph Richards, who was born male but ‘identifies as female’, confirmed that he would leave the voluntary position with Endometriosis South Coast after public criticism.

The charity confirmed the resignation and thanked Richards for the contribution made, while Richards stated the decision was taken in the best interests of all involved.

Endometriosis, a chronic disease linked to the menstrual cycle, is where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb grow in other parts of a woman’s anatomy.

“I would like to confirm that I have recently stepped down from my role as parliamentary adviser to Endometriosis South Coast.

“It was not a decision taken lightly, but one I believe is in the best interests of myself, the charity, and the vital work it does in supporting those living with endometriosis. I wish the organisation and everyone it serves well,” Mr Richards wrote on X.

Confirming the move, the charity said: “Endometriosis South Coast can confirm that Steph Richards has stepped down from her voluntary role as parliamentary adviser to the charity. We wish her well and thank her for her contribution to our work.”

Refocusing on What Matters

This situation highlights a wider issue: the need to refocus attention on the real challenges facing those affected by endometriosis. Around 1.5 million women in the UK live with the condition, often facing delayed diagnosis, limited treatment options, and insufficient specialist support.

Endometriosis may have a significant, sometimes devastating impact on all aspects of life: education, career, relationships, sexual relationships, fertility and quality of life. In 2023, Endometriosis UK undertook an online survey to determine the average length of time to secure a diagnosis of endometriosis, and to better understand the experiences of people seeking a diagnosis in the UK.

Rather than diverting attention into debates that risk overshadowing patient needs, there is a clear case for prioritising faster diagnosis and improved clinical pathways, greater access to specialist services, increased research funding, stronger long-term support for those living with chronic symptoms. At its core, this is about ensuring that policy, advocacy, and healthcare delivery remain centred on those directly affected.

Ms. Braverman’s Criticism

Suella Fernandes MP
Suella Fernandes MP

Among those who had criticised the appointment was Suella Braverman, Reform UK’s spokesman for education, skills and equalities and the MP for Fareham and Waterlooville, who corresponded with the charity last month, asking for it to reconsider the appointment.

She wrote: “It is remarkable that a charity established to advocate for women’s health would appoint a man, without female anatomy or experience of this disease, to speak for those whose suffering is defined by their sex.

“This regressive decision erases women from their own health issues, replaces lived female experience with male self-identification and silences the very people your organisation claims to represent.”
Ms Braverman also posted on X: “With respect to him, this person is a man. I have no problem with what he wears or what he does in private. But he is a man. And it is not transphobic to say so.
“It is insulting and inappropriate to the 1.5 million women who suffer with endometriosis for him to have been appointed to speak for them.”

Lords’ social media ban defiance could bury Starmer’s bill

0
House of Lords | British Parliament
House of Lords | British Parliament

For the third time, peers are pushing for a ban on under-16s accessing social media, while the Government continues to stall, preferring consultation over action.

The House of Lords is once again set to defy Keir Starmer, not over trivial policy, but over the protection of children.

The result is a now-familiar spectacle: parliamentary “ping-pong,” where legislation is batted back and forth between the Lords and Commons while the clock runs down toward prorogation.

If no agreement is reached before the session ends, the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill will simply fall. Not defeated on principle, just delayed by process.

And in that delay lies the real issue.

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

A Ban Delayed Is a Duty Avoided

Government to introduce digital ID's
Government to introduce digital ID’s

John Nash has now proposed a compromise, an Australian-style ban within a year, giving time for implementation while committing to action. Even this measured step is being resisted.

The Government’s position remains that it “may” act, pending consultation. Lord Nash’s amendment would change that to “must.” That single word exposes the heart of the disagreement: obligation versus option.

Peers backing the amendment are not calling for the impossible. They are calling for accountability, requiring social media companies to implement age verification and prevent circumvention.

The evidence is no longer in dispute. Platforms are designed to be compulsive, addictive, and difficult to escape. This is not accidental; it is engineered.

To delay action in the face of such knowledge is not neutrality, it is a decision.

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Parental Responsibility Snatched

Beyond the procedural delays, a deeper shift is taking place. While Parliament argues over how to regulate children’s access to social media, the broader direction of travel is unmistakable: responsibility is steadily moving away from parents and towards the state.

The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill , particularly in its approach to home schooling and increased oversight, reflects this change.

Under the proposals, local authorities would be required to maintain a register of children not in school, including those educated at home, with powers to request information about a child’s education and welfare. While parental responsibility remains in principle, it is now placed within a framework of formal monitoring and visibility, signalling a clear expansion of the state’s role in areas traditionally left to families.

Instead of reinforcing the role of parents as the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives, the system is building layers of intervention, monitoring, and control. In doing so, it risks sending a quiet but powerful message that parents cannot be trusted to govern their own households, and that the state must increasingly step in to fill that role.

The contrast is difficult to ignore: intervention where it is most urgently needed is slow, yet control over families is being quietly expanded, raising a broader question about where responsibility truly sits.

local authority registered in the bill….justify it…

United States Ruling

Recent developments in the United States are beginning to shift the legal landscape.

In cases such as Anderson v. TikTok, courts have allowed claims to proceed that allege platforms used algorithms to push harmful content to children, contributing to serious mental health impacts.

At the same time, a wider set of claims has been consolidated under Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability Litigation , where major tech companies face allegations of designing addictive systems that harm young users. While not final rulings on liability, these cases mark a significant step toward holding social media firms accountable for the way their platforms are built.

This is not speculation. It is legal fact. Even Sir Keir Starmer has acknowledged the dangers, speaking strongly about the need to protect children. Yet those words have not translated into decisive legislative action.

Children Exposed to Manipulation

Baroness Hilary Cass has made the situation plain: children are being exposed to manipulation, exploitation, harmful content, and contact from strangers—through systems designed to keep them engaged at all costs. The language used is telling: “compulsive,” “obsessive,” “addictive.” These are not rhetorical flourishes; they reflect how these platforms are built and how they function in practice.

Her warning is not isolated. It sits alongside growing evidence, including legal challenges in the United States and increasing scrutiny of platform design, all pointing to the same conclusion: engagement is not incidental, it is engineered. Meanwhile, representatives from the social media firms this week faced robust questioning from MPs regarding the impact of screen time on young people.

Social media executives told MPs they did not believe their platforms are inherently addictive to children and young people. They argued that a proposed ban on social media for under-16s would be “unenforceable”.

Scripture reminds us that truth, once revealed, demands a response. Ignoring it does not lessen its weight.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Political Hesitation, Moral Consequences

The political reality is shifting. Support for a ban is growing, even within Labour ranks. Abstentions are rising. Quiet dissent is becoming harder to contain.

Yet the Government continues to resist firm commitment. If the Lords pass the amendment again, the Commons may block it again, triggering yet another round of parliamentary deadlock—risking the entire Bill collapsing due to lack of time.

This is not strength. It is hesitation dressed as process. The question is no longer whether action is needed, but whether leaders are willing to take responsibility for it.

Because when legislation fails, it is not Parliament that bears the long-term cost—it is the next generation.

Scripture teaches that those in authority will be held to account for how they govern, particularly in matters of justice and protection.

Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

A Spiritual Issue Disguised as Policy

At its core, this is not just about legislation. It is about stewardship. Children are not commodities to be managed or data points to be harvested. They are lives entrusted to care.

The refusal to act decisively, despite overwhelming evidence, reflects a deeper problem: a culture that prioritises convenience, profit, and political calculation over protection.

The platforms in question are not passive, they shape behaviour, influence identity, and, in many cases, distort reality.

And still, the response is delay.

Scripture repeatedly calls for the protection of the vulnerable and the defence of those who cannot defend themselves. That responsibility does not diminish with complexity—it increases.

When harm is clear and action is possible, inaction becomes a choice. And that choice carries consequences.

Proverbs 31:8–9 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction…Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Nanosermon Script:

‘Put on the Gospel Armour, each piece put on with prayer.’

So goes that great old hymn, but what is the Gospel Armour? Well, come with me to Ephesians Chapter six and verse thirteen.

Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Every Christian is in a spiritual war. When a man goes to war, the army issues him with equipment. It’s the same here. Our great commander has given you items of clothing, defensive apparatus, and a weapon.

Speak and Live the Truth!

We’ll look at the first two verses for now, at the clothing. Let’s start with our girdle. You are girt about with truth, not with guile or falsehood. You must speak the truth and live the truth, be someone upon whose word others can rely.

Don’t think that because Jesus is the truth and you have Jesus, that’s an alternative to your own verity. The adversary will not let you get away with being a real-time liar however much you protest, ‘But I have Jesus in me.’ It doesn’t work like that. And don’t fool yourself. If you lie Jesus is not in you anyway.

The high priest of Israel wore a breastplate of judgment, and Isaiah writes that the Lord put on righteousness as a breastplate. So your breastplate too speaks of judgment and righteousness, and it has to be your right judgment, seeing things as God sees them and your righteousness, not that of Christ alone.

Walk worthy of your calling

At his crucifixion the Lord Jesus took your sins on himself. Those who believe in him are clothed in his righteousness. That’s called ‘imputed righteousness’ and it’s fundamental Christian doctrine. But thereafter you must walk worthy of your calling.
David says in Psalm eighteen and verse twenty:

Psalm 18:20a The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness;

He cannot be speaking of imputed righteousness because he says clearly in the next verse:

Psalm 18:21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

He says, in Psalm 26:

Psalm 26:1a Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity:

Now look, if David had integrity, then by the power of the Holy Spirit, so can you. You’ll never overcome the devil if you are continuing in sin, however much you claim Christ’s righteousness. Come on. We are talking reality here, not theological abstracts.

Beautiful feet

Isaiah paints a picture of the beautiful feet of one who brings the Gospel of peace and salvation. He says, in chapter fifty-two:

b>Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

You will remember Romans chapter ten and verse fifteen where the Apostle quotes Isaiah’s words in connection with preaching. But here, Paul turns that into a pair of shoes which is just inspired on every level. When we go into battle, we’ll put on the Gospel footwear, publish peace and salvation and proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Now you have your Gospel clothing in place, so don’t ever take it off. Look after it, repair it, keep it secure, with no chinks or gaps. That means reading and studying God’s word and praying for your Gospel clothing, as the old hymn said.

Next, we are going to look at our defensive and offensive equipment, from the next two verses. That will be the NanoSermon The Gospel Armour – weaponry. Look out for it. And if this NanoSermon has done you some good, please share it.

Government Sits on “Trans” Guidance

Government Sits on "Trans" Guidance
Government Sits on "Trans" Guidance

It is exactly one full year since the Supreme Court delivered a unanimous ruling that sex means biological sex.

The judgment was clear. It settled a question that had been left muddied for years. What has followed, however, is not implementation but delay.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), the statutory regulator, has already completed its role. It produced updated guidance, its code of practice setting out how organisations, from hospitals to sports centres, should apply the ruling in real-world settings.

That draft was submitted months ago, revised after Government feedback, consultation responses, and additional legal advice. Yet the guidance has still not been published.

In practice, this means public bodies are left without formal direction on how to comply with a binding Supreme Court judgment. The legal position is settled; the operational framework is not.

Bridget Phillipson Blocks Guidance

Phillipson accused of putting career ahead of women’s rights in trans war
Phillipson accused of putting career ahead of women’s rights in trans war

Baroness Kishwer Falkner has accused Bridget Phillipson of blocking the guidance on upholding women’s right to single-sex spaces over personal interest.

Baroness Falkner, who drew up the equality law changes said Ms Phillipson was putting her “personal ambition” before her role as women and equalities minister over fears that pro-trans backbenchers would scupper any chance of promotion if she published the guidance.

She has accused Equalities Minister of holding back the process, suggesting the issue is not one of complexity, but of reluctance.

Meanwhile, Bridget Phillipson has indicated that the delay in publishing guidance on single-sex spaces was influenced by electoral considerations, claiming it may sway voters.

The Education Secretary said she could not release it until after the Scottish and Welsh ballot on May 7 because of “purdah rules”, the pre-election period restricting government announcements.

That gap is already visible. Without published guidance, organisations continue to interpret the law inconsistently, particularly in relation to single-sex spaces.

Shout Out After Victory

For Women Scotland
For Women Scotland

It is quite telling when a group of women win a landmark case, yet cannot even get a seat at the table with the minister responsible for acting on it. Bridget Phillipson has come under fire for refusing or perhaps carefully avoiding a meeting with For Women Scotland, the very group that secured the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman.

You would think a government serious about the rule of law would welcome such a meeting. Instead, attempts to engage have reportedly been “blocked,” leaving campaigners questioning who exactly is standing in the way, whether it is the minister herself or an overly convenient Civil Service barrier.

Susan Smith, one of the group’s directors, has rightly called the situation “outrageous.” After all, this is not a fringe request. This is a group that went all the way through the courts and won. Yet despite writing formally and requesting a meeting weeks in advance, they were met with nothing more than a holding reply no date, no discussion, no accountability.

The irony is hard to miss. The Equality Act 2010 was clarified by the Supreme Court nearly a year ago, affirming that the definition of a woman is based on biological sex. Clear, simple, settled. And yet, here we are—still waiting for guidance, still waiting for action, and now, it seems, still waiting for basic dialogue.

“Leadership by Convenience”

06/09/2022. London, United Kingdom. Official Cabinet Portrait; Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade – Kemi Badenoch MP poses for a photograph in 10 Downing Street. Picture by Simon Dawson / No 10 Downing Street
Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch

To highlight the government’s inaction, Kemi Badenoch has ordered Tory councils to enforce women’s right to single-sex spaces on the first anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman.

The Conservative Party leader has told Tory-led councils to draw up plans to ban biological men from women’s toilets and changing rooms, and said that if she were to become prime minister, she would force all local authorities to do so.

Ms. Badenoch accused the Government of selective respect for the law, embracing it when convenient and ignoring it when not.

“Betrayal” of Women

Among those speaking out about the enforcement of the Supreme court ruling, is Sex Matters, joined by Bethany Hutchison, Lisa Lockey and Karen Danson—the Darlington nurses who had to fight through an employment tribunal after being required to share a changing room with a trans colleague.

Government departments, local authorities, NHS organisations, and regulators—all are, according to them, dragging their feet. And the consequence? A vacuum of clarity that is “harmful for everyone,” not least because uncertainty breeds conflict, confusion, and inconsistency. When the law says one thing but practice reflects another, trust in both institutions and leadership begins to erode.

The irony is stark. The EHRC had already done the groundwork, submitting updated guidance months ago. Yet it remains unpublished, gathering dust while institutions continue operating in contradiction to the ruling. In the meantime, hospitals and sports centres press on as if nothing has changed.

And then comes the official response: assurances that the Government “supports” single-sex spaces and is “carefully considering” the guidance. Careful consideration, it seems, has become the refuge of delay.

Our previous article, exposes men with fetishes attempting to hijack womanhood lays bare the full extent of this madness.

Trans Ruling Ignored by Hundreds of Quangos

Nearly 400 public bodies across England and Wales remain in breach of the ruling. A Daily Mail investigation revealed widespread non-compliance among NHS trusts, police forces, local authorities, and Whitehall departments.

Some of these bodies retain outdated policies permitting biological males who identify as transgender to access female-only facilities, including changing rooms and toilets.

Women’s rights campaigners have condemned the findings as “inexcusable”, accusing institutions of demonstrating “complete disregard for the law” that has caused “untold harm to women and girls”.

Shadow Equalities Minister Claire Coutinho said: “The Supreme Court ruling was meant to put an end to this madness. Cowardice, obfuscation, and a complete lack of grip. That is all the Labour Party has to offer women’s rights.”

Scripture reminds us in Isa 45:9-10 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?…Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?

Digital ID’s

Government to introduce digital ID's
Government to introduce digital ID’s

This government is now proposing digital ID cards that will not record whether a person is male or female.

Yes, in a world where identity is supposedly everything, the most basic and God-ordained reality of human existence has been quietly erased.

According to Government consultation documents, sex and gender are deemed “not necessary” for identification. Instead, citizens will be reduced to a collection of biometric data points, fingerprints, scans, and codes but stripped of the most fundamental truth.

Apparently, in Starmer’s Britain, even that is now optional.

A  System That Cannot Tell Man from Woman

We are told these new IDs will be “trusted” and “inclusive.” Yet what kind of system cannot distinguish between a man and a woman? This is not progress, it is absurdity dressed up as innovation.

If an identification system cannot identify something as basic as biological sex, one is left to wonder what exactly it is verifying. The Government insists such details are unnecessary, as identity will be confirmed through “biometric authentication.”

In other words, you are no longer a man or a woman, just a scan.

The Logical End of Gender Ideology

This is not an oversight. It is the logical conclusion of years spent dodging the simple question: what is a woman?

Having tied themselves in knots trying to appease competing ideological demands, ministers appear to have settled on the easiest solution — abolish the category altogether. As one critic rightly noted, if you cannot define a woman, why bother recording one?

Scripture, however, is not confused.
1 Corinthians 14:33 reminds us: “God is not the author of confusion.

And yet confusion now appears to be official policy. The Government claims these IDs will make services “quicker, easier and more secure.” But security built on the denial of reality is no security at all.

An identity system that ignores biological truth is not inclusive, it is dishonest. This raises serious concerns, not only about practicality, but about the deeper direction of a society willing to erase truth for the sake of ideology. When truth is negotiable, everything else soon follows.

A Farce and a Warning

Even some politicians have admitted the obvious: this makes a mockery of the entire system. They are right. An ID card that cannot state whether someone is male or female is not just flawed — it is fundamentally unserious. But more than that, it is a warning.

A society that refuses to recognise basic truths will not stop at ID cards. The erosion of truth in one area inevitably spreads to others — law, education, family, and faith.

As Isaiah 5:20 warns: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil… that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.

What we are witnessing is not merely a policy misstep, but a cultural moment. When a government can no longer bring itself to acknowledge that human beings are male and female, it is not simplifying identity — it is abandoning reality. And that is not progress. It is decline.

Why Hungary preferred Magyar to Orbán

Peter Magyar celebrates his victory in the Hungarian general election

Peter Magyar celebrates his victory in the Hungarian general election

Last week, we were praying for Hungary as the Hungarian people went to the polls on Sunday 15th April 2026. With money pouring in from the globalists to unseat their hated Viktor Orbán, we prayed for righteousness to prevail. The Lord has now answered our prayer. Mr Orbán, after 16 years of power, fell to the his rival Peter Magyar:

Viktor Orbán = Fidezs = 37.8% = 55 seats
Peter Magyar = Tisza = 53.6% = 138 seats

The Globalists, the WEF Elite, the smug centrist dads such as Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart, are all delighted. Here is Alastair Campbell:

Smug Centrist Dads: Alastair Campbell (r) and Rory Stewart (l)
Smug Centrist Dads: Alastair Campbell (r) and Rory Stewart (l)

‘What fantastic news from Hungary. Proof that if you stand up to it Right wing kleptocratic populist authoritarianism can be beaten. Orbán will now flee somewhere with his wealth. But this is more than a bad night for him. It is a bad night for Putin. … It is a bad night for Trump. It is a bad night for Vance and Rubio. … It is a bad night for Farage, the AfD and Le Pen because it shows that when their brand of politics is exposed to serious opposition and scrutiny it collapses. … The people of Hungary deserve our thanks for showing these people can be beaten.’

Writing in DailySceptic, James Alexander suggested such a view would be ‘far too simple’. He quoted no end of the global elite, from Alex Soros to Donald Tusk to Friedrich Merz to Ursula von der Leyen.

‘Democracy’ or ‘Liberalism’?

Barack Obama voiced: ‘The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not only in Europe, but all around the world.’ Keir Starmer also said it was a victory not just for Hungary but for ‘European democracy’. But Italian political scientist Nathalie Tocci ventured: ‘Orbán’s defeat does not guarantee an immediate return to democracy in Hungary, but it does mark a victory for liberalism in the world, even more than in Hungary itself.’

So, asked Professor Alexander, ‘Is it a victory for democracy or for liberalism?’ Bear in mind that when the elite use the word ‘democracy’ as we have shown before, it only means what keeps them and their kind in power. It does not mean ‘rule of the people’. The latter is their hated ‘populism’. Watch on Rumble:

Professor Alexander observes: ‘The doltishness of all this is quite absurd. One would almost think there is a conspiracy, a conspiracy of fools to bleat in similar ‘Three Bags Full’ manner.

‘Everyone who has read about this for more than a minute knows that Magyar is a former crony of Orbán, that he might be even more Right-wing in some respects, that the victory was about corruption more than it was about policy, …

‘There may be more EU funds unlocked, there may be support of Ukraine, but there may not be any change to the marital and migrating policies introduced by Orbán. Who knows?’

‘Orbánism without Orbán’

The DailySceptic reports Michael Mosbacher writing in the Telegraph that Peter Magyar and his Tisza party are Orbanism without Orbán. Their electoral programme was ‘remarkably similar’.

Here’s an excerpt: ‘Magyar is a social conservative who wants to increase financial incentives to have children, cut taxes, double the defence budget and has criticised Orbán for admitting too many migrants under Hungary’s guest worker schemes. On effectively every issue he sits firmly on the Right of European politics.’

Michael Mosbacher observes that ‘Magyar was a member of Orbán’s Fidesz party until 2024. When the anti-Orbánites ran in past general elections on a liberal platform they always lost. They have only won by promising Orbánism without Orbán.’

‘Standing up for Christian culture’

A Telegraph editorial agreed: ‘Viktor Orbán … became a bogey man to those of a Left-wing persuasion and especially to the commissars of the EU, for whom he was an unreconstituted nationalist unwilling to toe the Brussels line.

‘The BBC treated his demise as though a great dictator had been toppled rather than the outcome of a democratic election. His premiership and the election became proxies in a culture war between Europe and Donald Trump. Orbán was seen as someone prepared to stand up for Christian culture like a latter-day Charles Martel, notably refusing to accept European asylum-sharing demands. He was a persistent critic of immigration policies that failed to control the EU’s borders.’

They went on to observe: ‘Orbán’s approach is now effectively espoused across the EU, where leaders are desperate to kill off the Right-wing insurgents threatening their control. The AfD in Germany, the National Rally in France, and Reform UK are forcing governments to take the sort of tough action Orbán embraced.’

Homosexual lobby disappointed

Their conclusion was that ‘Hungarians may have tired of Orbán, his pro-Putin leanings and the accusations of corruption surrounding his administration, but not of his policies.’

Indeed, Pink News were distressed not to find Mr Magyar making any reference to ‘LGBT’, let alone endorsing a pro-gay programme, in any of his campaign speeches. As we pointed out in our previous article, Mr Orbán has outlawed homosexual propaganda and ‘gay pride’ marches while encouraging Hungarians to have more children through tax policy. There is no evidence Mr Magyar challenged any of this on the campaign trail.

Hungarians also saw corruption in government use of mainstream media. The Telegraph reports: ‘Peter Magyar, Hungary’s prime minister-elect, will suspend state news broadcasts once he takes power in a purge of pro-Orbán institutions. During Viktor Orbán’s 16-year rule, public broadcasters similar to the BBC were used as government mouthpieces.’

Well there’s a funny thing. Exactly the same happens all the time in the United Kingdom. Especially from the Covid era, into mRNA vaccines, globalism, multiculturalism, LGBT, feminism and now Net Zero, the BBC acted and continues to act as a mouthpiece for the Establishment. It was Hermann Goering who explained during the Nuremburg trials how every state will use its propaganda machine to secure its will. Victor Orbán was not immune. We must pray Mr Magyar will not succumb to the same temptation.

Three reasons ‘why Viktor Orbán lost’

Professor Frank Furedi

Frank Furedi proposed a complementary idea in Spiked Online in an article ’Why Viktor Orbán lost’. Professor Furedi is himself Hungarian, and he looks further than ‘voter fatigue, the cost-of-living crisis or even the allegations of corruption.’

He attributes the defeat to ‘three interrelated factors’. Firstly, ‘Fidesz has seemed at a loss as to how to engage with the younger generation. Indeed, by 2024, it appeared that it had more or less given up on young people, fatalistically accepting it had lost their support. It was content to view itself as a party of the older generations.’

Secondly, Prof. Furedi suggests: ‘Fidesz never understood what drove the hostility of younger voters towards it.’ The ‘generational disaffection’ of the younger people came from ‘the powerful influence exerted on them by Western identity politics and, underpinning it, therapy culture, with its emphasis on victimhood and vulnerability. The influence of therapy culture and the increasing focus on individual psychology and identity have tended to detach young people from the traditional, conservative values of Fidesz.’

Losing a culture war

He goes on to claim ‘many in Fidesz assured me that I was exaggerating the problem. They imagined that these phenomena were confined to the West and somehow miraculously stopped at the border of Hungary. Yet a therapeutic, identitarian sensibility increasingly prevails throughout Hungary’s cultural and educational institutions. Invariably, those influenced by it are likely to be drawn to Western anti-traditionalist and anti-nationalist ideals. Supporters of the government appeared to be oblivious to the fact that they not only were facing a culture war – they were losing it, too.’

Thirdly, he says, ‘in recent years, many Fidesz politicians have come across as complacent, entitled and out of touch with their own society. This problem was particularly striking in relation to their constant mis-assessment of the challenge posed by Tisza leader Péter Magyar. With every rally and demonstration, (Magyar) became ever more comfortable – and increasingly formidable – as a political leader.’

There is a similarity here with Nigel Farage, who has moblised the TikTok generation so effectively. A ‘belated attempt’ by Fidesz ‘to create its own cohort of online influencers lacked the spontaneity of the Tisza rebels. … Fidesz could not match the cultural élan and mobilising pull of its opponents.’

‘Better at populism’

There are certainly lessons for populist politicians and those who appeal to biblical standards rather than those of the Elite here in the UK and indeed worldwide. ‘Tisza won the battle for hearts and minds. It proved to be better at populism than its opponents. Riding the ‘enough is enough’ wave of public discontent, it succeeded where previous opponents of Orbán had failed.’

Finally, Professor Furedi strikes an optimistic note. ‘Being in government rather than posturing in opposition will likely undermine Tisza. It will certainly expose its populism as entirely performative. And by the time the next General Election comes around, Fidesz should have learned from this experience of defeat. The future of Hungary depends on an effective Fidesz opposition.

‘Europe’s centrist elites may hope that the defeat of Orbán represents a defeat for the populist movement in Europe. But crucially, none of the values that Fidesz stands for, from national sovereignty and strong borders to the importance of tradition, has been explicitly challenged, let alone defeated by Tisza. That is why I am confident that the populist surge will continue to transform the political landscape in Western societies.

‘As for Hungary, it is important that Fidesz holds its nerve and learns from the experience of defeat. An honest assessment of what went wrong is the prerequisite for a recovery ahead of the next election.’

Rt Hon James, Lord, Callaghan
Rt Hon James, Lord, Callaghan

The late James Lord Callaghan was Prime Minster of the United Kingdom from 1976 to 1979. A humble man, he described his greatest achievement not as becoming prime minister, meeting other heads of state, but as extending the use of cats’ eyes down the middle of roads when he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport in the late nineteen forties. It was a measure which saved lives and that was important to him.

Well, twenty years later, when he was Home Secretary, lives were being lost from sectarian violence in Northern Ireland. Mr Callaghan was desparate for reconciliation between the two sides.

Children of God, or Wrath?

Rev Dr Ian Paisley
Rev Dr Ian Paisley

Years later, he told a story about meeting the Reverend Ian Paisley during this time.
“Come, Dr Paisley, we are all the children of God,” pleaded Jim Callaghan. “No, Home Secretary,” the big man replied, “we are the children of WRATH!”

So who was right? Well, that depends. The expression Dr Paisley used is found in Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus, where, in chapter two, the Apostle reminded them of their past.

Eph 2:1 And you, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (KJV)

So those who are unregenerate, walking in the flesh, caring nothing for the ways of God, are the children of disobedience and the children of wrath. If you are among them, you are on a fast-track to hell.

It depends on who are the ‘We’

Cats' eyes - Jim Callaghan's greatest achievement!
Cats’ eyes – Jim Callaghan’s greatest achievement!

But in his letter to the Christians in Galatia, in chapter three and verse twenty-six, he wrote:

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

So by the grace of God the children of wrath can become the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. So there we are. Depending on who the ‘we’ are, both Lord Callaghan and Dr Paisley were right.

If Jim Callaghan was referring to everyone, then perhaps he had let his compassion run away with him. But if he was talking about Christians, those who follow and serve the Lord Jesus, then indeed we are children of God – and citizens of heaven.

Become a child of God!

An Ulster Mural from the Protestant side.
An Ulster Mural from the Protestant side.

Ian Paisley, who is now with the Lord, longed to see people saved and expressed his compassion by preaching the Gospel. He rejected any idea of universalism, where everyone is thought to be a child of God. He knew the overwhelming majority of those involved in the troubles were unsaved. Looking at his community, and including himself in it as the Prophet Isaiah did before him, he saw that ‘we’ are indeed the children of wrath.

(Isa 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.)

Dr Paisley was grieved by seeing so many out of fellowship with God, bound, as I said earlier, for hell. If you are one of them, know this: You are made in the image of God, but you will only become a child of God when you turn your back on doing wrong and ask the Lord Jesus to forgive you, save you and let you live his risen life.

Until you do that, you’ll remain among the children of wrath.

Psalm 34:21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

The scenes in Trafalgar Square last Saturday should give serious observers pause, not just for their spectacle, but for what they reveal about the fragility of the so-called Together Alliance.

It was not a show of strength. It was a slow-motion unravelling—set, rather bizarrely, to a backing track of techno beats and ideological incoherence.

The Together Alliance had promised a mighty stand against “far-Right extremism.” What it delivered instead was a spectacle so muddled, so culturally schizophrenic, that it bordered on parody.

At the centre of it all was the now widely shared image, highlighted with relish by Brendan O’Neill, of Green Party figurehead Zack Polanski enthusiastically “dad-dancing” alongside drag performers and leather-clad exhibitionists. It was the kind of scene that demands a double take. Not because it was shocking, but because it was so revealing.

Because this—this awkward fusion of causes, costumes and contradictions—is the Together Alliance in microcosm.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Stop Transgenderism Now!

A movement that stands for nothing… except opposition

Strip away the slogans, and the Alliance quickly loses coherence. It is not united by a shared moral vision, nor by any serious programme for national renewal. It is bound, almost entirely, by what it opposes.

Mothin Ali

And chief among those shared hatreds is Israel.

This is the glue. Not justice. Not peace. Not truth. But a visceral hostility that has, for a time, papered over vast ideological cracks. Cracks that are now widening. Where was Zack Polanski’s deputy, the observant bearded Muslim, Mothin Ali himself, as his leader danced away in the company of the depraved and perverted? Him and his Islamic war-cry was nowhere to be seen. Where were the Muslim Council of Britain, Muslim Aid UK, the Muslim Community Association, the Imam of East London Mosque or the Iran-backed Islamic Human Rights Commission? They are all listed as supporters of the Together Alliance. (It’s revealing just reading the list.)

Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand

Delusion Not Diversity

Scenes in Trafalgar Square last Saturday at the Green party event.
Scenes in Trafalgar Square last Saturday at the Together Alliance event.

The fundamental problem is simple: the Alliance asks mutually incompatible worldviews to march in lockstep.

On one side, progressive activists who champion gender ‘fluidity, sexual libertinism’, and the dismantling of every inherited norm. On the other, religious conservatives, particularly within segments of Muslim activism whose beliefs are rooted in moral codes that explicitly reject those very ideas.

This is not diversity. It is delusion.

Paloma Faith
Paloma Faith

And moments like Trafalgar Square expose it brutally. One is left asking: what exactly are socially conservative Muslims meant to make of public displays that celebrate everything their faith prohibits? And conversely, what do progressive activists imagine awaits them in societies governed by the very ideologies they so casually align with? What do singer Paloma Faith and Leigh-Anne Pinnock from Little Mix think would happen to them if they pitched up in ‘Palestine’ dressed like that? Or the dirty boys on stage?

Leigh-Anne Pinnock
Leigh-Anne Pinnock

Mr. O’Neill distilled this contradiction into a line that has cut through the noise precisely because it is so uncomfortable: “Should any of these activists set foot in places like Hamas-controlled Gaza, their pronouns would very quickly become ‘was’ and ‘were’.”

Crude? Yes. But it lands because it points to a reality too many would rather ignore.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Return to the UK’s Christian Constitution →

Selective Outrage and Moral Blindness

There is another, deeper hypocrisy at play. The Alliance claims to oppose extremism. Yet its definition of extremism appears… selective. The “far Right” is loudly denounced—often defined so broadly that it includes ordinary, working people who dissent from progressive orthodoxy.

Meanwhile, far more immediate and tangible threats are met with silence, equivocation, or outright denial. This is not principled opposition to extremism. It is ideological convenience.

Ezekiel 12:2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

Numbers and Message that Don’t Add Up

Even the much-trumpeted scale of the march has been called into question. Grand claims of mass mobilisation sit uneasily alongside far more modest estimates and visibly thin crowds. Organisers of the Together Alliance march claimed 500,000 people attended. A police estimate put the figure closer to 50,000.

The top eight Together Alliance Public Figures
The top eight Together Alliance ‘Public Figures’

But the deeper issue is not how many turned up. It is who turned up—and what, if anything, they actually share beyond a vague sense of grievance and a common list of enemies.

Because once the music stops, once the placards are lowered and the ‘celebrities’ have applauded themselves for their supposed great virtue, what remains?

A coalition that cannot agree on basic questions of morality.
A movement that cannot define the society it wants to build.
An alliance held together by resentment, not conviction.

Matt 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

The Beginning of the End

From a Christian standpoint, the spectacle is not political, it is cultural and spiritual.

A society untethered from truth will inevitably descend into contradiction. When alliances are forged without reference to moral coherence when truth is sacrificed for tactical unity, the result is precisely what we witnessed: noise without substance, energy without direction, and unity without foundation. You cannot build anything lasting on that.

The Together Alliance may continue to march. It may continue to issue statements, to chant slogans, to perform unity. But what Trafalgar Square revealed is this: the alliance is not solid. It is strained, brittle, and increasingly absurd.

A coalition built on shared hostility—however intense—cannot survive the weight of its own contradictions.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Nanosermon Script:

You know, there are times when I feel weary and heavy laden. You too might be labouring away and feel life is too much to bear. Maybe it’s all getting on top of you. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed, the problems seem insurmountable, you’re exhausted and discouraged.

So what to do? Well, you can call someone and moan, pour yourself a drink, or go to bed early. Actually, you probably should ask someone to pray with you, and you probably should take an early night. I find a hot drink never hurts either. And things often look better in the morning.

But maybe they don’t, and maybe none of that is working. At some stage, you’ll find yourself thinking, ‘Why didn’t I take all this to the Lord? Here are the words of Jesus, in Matthew chapter eleven and verse twenty-eight:

Matt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

‘Come unto me’

The Lord just says, ‘Come unto me’. Not ‘go away and sort yourself out then come back in three years’ time’. No, just ‘Come unto me’. As you are. Then Jesus says ‘I will give you rest.’ No more struggle, no more being overwhelmed by it all. He just needs you to trust him.

But what is this ‘Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me’ all about? Well, when you turn your life over to Jesus and trust him, you are going to do what he says. That’s what the ‘come unto me’ involves. But you are going to go to him and trust him first and then let him straighten you out, not the other way around.

The Greek word ‘zugos’ translated ‘yoke’ means a coupling or the beam for a balance. It’s put on a pair of oxen pulling a cart. Or a milkmaid would wear one to balance out the big milk bottles they had back in the day. But it also means a law or an obligation. Moreover, Jesus stresses that his way, his ‘yoke’, is not heavy, as you might think, but light and easy.

Submit to his authority

The great Bible commentator Matthew Henry gave this explanation: ‘Christ invites all to come to him for rest to their souls. He alone gives this invitation. Men come to him, when, feeling their guilt and misery, and believing his love and power to help, they seek him in fervent prayer.

‘All who thus come will receive rest as Christ’s gift, and obtain peace and comfort in their hearts. But in coming to him they must take his yoke, and submit to his authority.

‘Nor need we fear his yoke. His commandments are holy, just, and good. It requires self-denial, and exposes to difficulties, but this is abundantly repaid, even in this world, by inward peace and joy.

‘It is a yoke of pleasantness. The way of duty is the way of rest.’

His yoke enables his rest

God built rest into creation. He worked for six days, and rested on the seventh. So rest is good, and Jesus says by taking his yoke and learning from him how to conduct yourself, how to go about life, you will find rest from everything which is oppressing you.

We don’t just need to turn to God when things are getting on top of us. We must be in a daily walk with Jesus, that closer walk of the old hymn, where we seek him first and instinctively do things his way. You may have to give up activity, even a mind-set which is no good for you and giving you grief. Only in God’s way of doing things will you find physical, mental, emotional and spiritual rest.

Jesus says ‘come to me’. He promises you he won’t turn anyone away who comes to him and asks for forgiveness, salvation and rest and wants to learn of him. It’s never too late to give it all to Jesus. But it’s never soon enough. Get those burdens lifted. Take up the yoke of Jesus right now. Because when you do so, Jesus gives you rest. He says so.
