Australia has voted overwhelmingly in favour of legalising same-sex marriage, reports the BBC.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics said 61.6% of people were in favour allowing same-sex couples to counterfeit marriage. 79.5% of voters took part in the non-binding postal vote.

Jubilant supporters celebrated in public spaces, waving rainbow flags and singing and dancing.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said his government would aim to pass legislation in parliament by Christmas.

‘[Australians] have spoken in their millions and they have voted overwhelmingly yes for marriage equality,’ Mr Turnbull said after the result was announced.

‘They voted yes for fairness, yes for commitment, yes for love.’

God’s first social institution

The word of God describes marriage as God’s first social institution:

Genesis 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Moreover, those words were reinforced by the Lord Jesus himself:

Mark10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

Becoming ‘one flesh’ in the full emotional, spiritual and physical sense is something a pair of gays, or two women, cannot do. A pair of homosexuals can never engage in the defining act of marriage. So they engage in a variety of confected quasi-sexual activities, all of which are condemned in scripture:

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

So, despite what Mr Turnbull says, homosexals won’t have equality or fairness.  Nature itself is against them. It won’t be committment, because their relationships are inherently transient. As for love, people – brothers, a father and son, comrades in arms – can love each other without feeling the need to press the part of the body perfectly designed for the extraction of water from bodily waste into a use our gracious Maker never intended.

Australia’s No campaign put the focus on the definition of family.  They also raised concerns about how issues like gender will be taught in schools.

Their concerns are well founded. England and Wales allowed homosexuals to get gay-married in 2013 under David Cameron’s Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act. Theresa May described the measure recently as one of her greatest achievements. Scotland followed in 2014. Only Northern Ireland holds out against the tide of sodomy.

Consequently, since 2013, students and local authority workers have been harassed by the authorities for expressing traditionalist, Christian views. Many have been thrown off courses or lost their jobs.

In addition, the earlier Equality Act 2010 laid a duty on public authorities to advance homosexuality and transgenderism.  A public authority is anything from a fire brigade to a hospital to a government department to a school.

Taken together, the UK’s Equality Act and Britain’s ‘gay marriage’ Act have given the green light to activist head teachers and Stonewall’s gay activists to groom schoolchildren into positive views of a lifestyle characterised by disease, degradation and early death. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome:

Sex and Culture

In his book Sex and Culture, anthropologist J.D. Unwin, warned that loose sexual mores would lead to cultural decline in the West.

The website EthikaPolitika says: ‘After a careful evaluation a variety of civilizations—including the Romans, Greeks, Sumerians, Moors, Babylonians, and Anglo-Saxons—a clear pattern emerged for Unwin: a perfect correlation between sexual fidelity and civilizational flourishing.

‘Though each civilization’s success correlated with strict sexual ethics, attitudes toward sex became increasingly liberalized and loosened. The consequences of the myth that sexual activity and its impacts could be confined to the private sphere soon became apparent. Premarital, extramarital and homosexual relationships proliferated and individuals began placing their individual desires over the common good. An increase in promiscuity corresponded to a subsequent decrease in the social energy required for civilizational maintenance and innovation. Ultimately, each civilization became less cohesive, less aggressive, and less resolute.’

Unwin said: ‘These societies lived in different geographical environments; they belonged to different racial stocks; but the history of their marriage customs is the same. In the beginning each society had the same ideas in regard to sexual regulations. Then the same struggles took place, the same sentiments were expressed, the same changes were made, the same results ensued. Each society reduced its sexual opportunity to a minimum and displaying great social energy, flourished greatly. Then it extended its sexual opportunity; its energy decreased, and faded away. The one outstanding feature of the whole story is its unrelieved monotony.’

Where ‘gay marriage’ is legal

Australia has joined not just Great Britain, but Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, some states of the United States and Uruguay.

Russia and Eastern Europe, Africa, apart from South Africa, and Asia, apart from Taiwan, are holding out.

Furthermore, many of those nations make the commission of unnatural acts a criminal offence.

Those countries which have legalised what Almighty God describes as an abomination, and then devalued God’s institution of marriage, are heading for judgment and disaster.

Unwin concluded: ‘Civilizations in this liminal phase then collapsed from either 1) an internal anarchic revolution, or 2) conquest by invaders with greater social energy.’

Now who could those ‘invaders with greater social energy’ be in Europe, Australia and the Western world in the twenty-first century?

Only hope is in repentance

There is however hope for each individual homosexual, as scripture speaks of them, and many other sinners, finding forgivness and release from the power of sin:

1Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Moreover, there is hope for Australia, Britain and the rest of the decadent West, but only if Christian men will rise up and proclaim the crown rights of King Jesus, calling for and praying for national repentance. Prince William blames Africans for wildlife decline

Prince William has been accused of racism after blaming a decline in wildlife on Africa’s growing population.

Gala event

The Duke of Cambridge was speaking at a gala event for a conservation charity last week in London. He is royal patron of the Tusk Trust.

As its name suggests, the charity started by opposing the killing of animals for their tusks. However, it now has a wider conservation remit and a long list of ‘great and good’ patrons.

Wildlife and conservation are certainly important if only because many African nations depend on their wildlife for tourism.

Too many Africans

The Prince proposed ‘a strategy that will allow humans and animal species to share the environment.’  He claimed: ‘In my lifetime, we have seen global wildlife populations decline by over half. We are going to have to work much harder, and think much deeper, if we are to ensure that human beings and the other species of animal with which we share this planet can continue to co-exist.’

The World Wildlife Fund came up with the 50% decline figure in 2014. They said it had happened in 40 years.  The Prince is 35.  They blamed ‘climate change’ and ‘the combined impacts of habitat loss and degradation, driven by unsustainable human consumption’.

But not even WWF specifically fingered Africans for the decline as Prince William did:

‘Africa’s rapidly growing human population is predicted to more than double by 2050 – a staggering increase of three and a half million people per month,’ he said. ‘There is no question that this increase puts wildlife and habitat under enormous pressure. Urbanization, infrastructure development, cultivation – all good things in themselves, but they will have a terrible impact unless we begin to plan and to take measures now.’

HRH did not suggest what sort of ‘planning’ was needed, but it clearly involves reducing at least the rate of increase of Africans. Would his solution be as far-sighted as that of his grandfather?

According to a run-down of his wit in an article in the Guardian, The Duke of Edinburgh said: ‘In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation.’ Another website attributes the sentiment to the Duke’s foreword to a book ‘If I Were an Animal’ (1987) by Fleur Cowles. Mercifully, we are given just the one life to live:

In 2011 Prince Philip said he still believed a growing human population was the biggest challenge to conservation. He kindly ruled out mass sterilization. ‘Voluntary family limitation’, whatever that means, was the only way to tackle what he saw as this huge problem.

Overpopulation is a myth

The truth is, overpopulation, beloved of Malthusians, royal and commoner alike, is an atheist myth. Environmental scientist Erle Ellis debunks it in this article in the New Times. And here is a website dedicated to the subject.  The most populous countries are the wealthiest, and as populations become wealthier, their family sizes reduce. We actually need population increase for economic growth and to support the elderly. The real population problem is Europeans not even replacing their numbers. That is leading to ageing populations and a pensions crisis.

The world is not overpopulated, and certainly not overpopulated with Africans. The average population density of Africa is 39.1 inhabitants per square kilometre.  Reference Wikipedia.  The corresponding figure for Europe is 59.

Prince William doing his bit

The royal family have certainly done their bit to achieve that UK figure. The Duchess of Cambridge is currently expecting Prince William’s third child. The Duke of Edinburgh fathered four children.  OK, the Tusk Trust might have written most of Prince William’s speech.  There are many similarities with positions on their website.  But the charity does not quite blame Africans and their natural fecundity for decreases in wildlife populations.  That appears to have been the Prince’s own idea.  The Bible records the Lord’s creation mandate to Adam and Eve:

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them (Adam and Eve), and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The Lord has yet to modify that with ‘Hold on, there’s too many of you – and definitely too many black people’.

The Duke of Cambridge would do well to apologise for his racism, seek humility and the word of Almighty God and learn the truth about human populations.

BBC unwatchable on Gay Jubilee

Today is the fiftieth anniversary of the legalisation of sodomy. Consequently, the BBC will be unwatchable and unlistenable for a week at least.

Especially today, all BBC channels will be awash with ‘Gay Britania’.  It is exactly fifty years since the enactment of the Sexual Offences Act 1967.

BBC reflecting the Establishment

One can argue the BBC is simply reflecting the Establishment.  It is impossible to be a candidate for Labour, the LibDems or the Tories without being a ‘Diversity’ wonk.  Plaid Cymru, SNP and Sinn Fein are almost as bad.  And anyone Christian or just pro-family in government needs to keep his views to himself.

Moreover, in the broadcast media, Sky, ITV and Channel 4 news will no doubt be promoting what they will see as a joyous day.  It is always interesting to discern between what is news and what is the advancement of the Establishment agenda.  This author reckons BBC ‘news’ is usually 50% propaganda.

Nevertheless, TV viewers have a choice.  RT (Freeview 135) ought to be free of homosexual promotion while Yesterday (19) and TBN (65) should be gay-free zones.

Never satisfied

The homosexual mindset is never satisfied.  Neither with life as a whole, nor with sexual expression, nor indeed with political gains.  It was never enough just to be left alone to do whatever they were going to do in private.  As it happens, we all now know rather more than we ever wanted to about what homosexuals do in private.  That is largely owing to the AIDS crisis, forcing gay charities like Terrence Higgins Trust to list homosexual activities in order of health risk.

So in 2004 Tony Blair enacted Civil Partnerships.  The BBC celebrating that event with footage of happy couples.  Nevertheless, civil partnerships were not good enough.  Equally, gay politics had moved out of its Labour redoubt.  Therefore, a Conservative Party Prime Minister, David Cameron, inflicted same-sex ‘marriage’ on the nation in 2013.  More celebratory BBC footage, this time of gays getting gay-married.

And now the elite are moving on again.   They want to allow anyone, for any reason or none, to change his gender at will.  The Government have announced a new ‘Gender Recognition Bill’ for the autumn.  Our story on that is here.

Homosexuality … universally condemned

How did it come to this?  Was such a degradation of society in the minds of those who framed the Sexual Offences Act?  Not at all.  The 1967 Act was ‘permissive’ legislation.  That does not mean it was part of the ‘permissive society’, although of course it was.  It means it permitted something still illegal to happen in certain circumstances.  The Abortion Act of the same year is another example of ‘permissive’ legislation.

So the Sexual Offences Act allowed acts of sodomy and gross indecency to take place in England and Wales between two consenting adults (aged 21 or over) in private.  It was a Private Member’s Bill, brought in by Leo Abse MP, at the instigation of Antony Grey of the Albany Trust and the Homosexual Law Reform Society.

In the debates on the 1967 Sexual Offences Bill, MPs and Peers made clear Parliament was refusing to do anything more than permit homosexual acts in certain circumstances. This was emphasised again and again by, for example, Lord Arran, who said:

‘In all the discussions we have had, and in all the speeches, no single noble Lord or noble Lady has ever said that homosexuality is right or a good thing. It has been universally condemned from start to finish, and by every single member of the House.’

First Gay Pride March in 1972

Strangely enough, under a Christian legal system, there would be no need for the Sexual Offences Act.  The Bible requires at least two witnesses before a court can convict anyone of a crime:

Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

If two men were doing something indecent in private there would be no witnesses.  Accordingly, there could be no prosecution.

But the sentiments of their Lordships, no doubt well-intended, were to fall on deaf ears.  Homosexuality would not now stay private.  Activists held the first ever gay pride march in London five years later in 1972.  Veteran campaigner Peter Tatchell was on it.  He gives a valuable Gay Liberation Front insider’s view here.

Eschew ostentatious behaviour and flaunting

In a later House of Lords debate, one Lord Henderson slightly misquoted the Earl of Arran.  In 1967, said Henderson, Lord Arran ‘asked the homosexual people of the future to comport themselves quietly and with dignity and to eschew any form of ostentatious behaviour or public flouting.’  Lord Arran actually used the word ‘flaunting.’  He said any evidence of it would ‘make the sponsors of this Bill regret that they have done what they have done.’

One homosexual activist, John Marshall, summed up the arguments of the Bill’s supporters like this:

‘The protection afforded by the Sexual Offences Bill, particularly for young people, was stressed repeatedly;  homosexuality was a lesser evil than the blackmail which its prohibition encouraged; relaxing the law would make it easier for homosexuals who wished to be free of their practices to seek help from the caring ministries.’

The Sexual Offences Act 1967 was extended to Scotland in 1980 and to Northern Ireland in 1982.  The latter happened after a European Court ruling and despite a campaign led by the late Dr Ian Paisley MP to ‘Save Ulster from Sodomy.’

Even twenty-one years after the Sexual Offences Act, in 1988, homosexual activity was still viewed with distaste. That was the year of Section 28, which banned promotion of homosexuality in the classroom.

Section 28 and its description of homosexual couples as being in a ‘pretended family’ energised gay activists.  They founded the Stonewall lobby group in 1989.

Five years later, under John Major, Parliament lowered  the minimum age in the Sexual Offences Act to eighteen.  The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 also permitted buggery on women.

The Christian Voice group was founded in the same year to inform Christians so they could pray into such matters and take action.  But a tidal wave was approaching.

In 1998 activist MPs voted to lower the homosexual age again, this time to sixteen.  The House of Lords objected.  Undaunted, Prime Minister Tony Blair used the Parliament Act.  Accordingly, in 2000 homosexual men gained legal access to sixteen-year-old boys.  In 2003, his administration repealed Section 28.  The Scottish Parliament repealed its equivalent in 2000.

In 2003, Parliament allowed homosexuals to adopt children.  The following year saw civil partnerships.  Also in 2004 Parliament legislated a lie.  They passed the Gender Recognition Act.  That allowed someone to go back and falsify his birth certificate if a doctor agreed he was a woman – or if a woman thought she was really a man.

Like a flood

Gay-promoting legislation was now coming in like a flood.  In 2007 we had the Sexual Orientation Regulations, forcing Christian B&B owners to offer beds to homosexual couples.  In 2008 Parliament abolished the offence of blasphemy and passed their own blasphemy law, a ‘gay hate speech’ law.

2009 saw the Equality Act placing a duty on public authorities to promote sodomy and transgenderism.  And then David Cameron forced through the Marriage (Same-Sex Couples) Act 2013.

It is difficult to promote homosexuality politically any more.  The activists have achieved virtually everything.  Accordingly, the BBC is simply leading today’s celebrations.  Of course, reparative therapy offering people a progression out of same-sex attraction is still a target, because the idea there could be something wrong with being homosexual is anathema to the ungodly.  Additionally, it is true there are still grumblings in society.  For example, many parents still do not want teachers promoting homosexuality to their children.  And the Independent says today that 42% of people in Britain still think homosexual activity is unnatural.  Curiously, 59% of Brexit voters said gay sex was unnatural, compared to a quarter of Remain voters.  (And if you want to know which countries in the world say sodomy is unacceptable, click here!)

But one UK institution in particular remains a thorn in the activists’ collective side.  The stronger elements of Christianity are still holding out.  Homosexuals demand full acceptance from the church.  Tolerance is not enough.  So our openly-lesbian Education Secretary has demanded churches offer ceremonies for people getting gay-married.  According to the Daily Mirror, Justine Greening said: ‘I think it is important that the church in a way keeps up.’

Lift up a standard

The Bible shows God Almighty does not ‘keep up’ with wickedness.  In contrast, the Prophet of God says:

Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

And on this day of shame, this satanic jubilee, good Lord, that is what your Church is praying for.  For men of God to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to lift up the Lord’s standard and press the Crown Rights of King Jesus!

‘Choose your gender’ says UK Government

People will be allowed to choose their gender if the UK Government gets its way.

Change gender ‘at will’

The Independent reports:  ‘Under plans being considered by ministers, adults will be able to change their birth certificates at will without a doctor’s diagnosis, while non-binary gender people will be able to record their gender as “X”.’

The paper says: ‘Changes to the law will be consulted on and will ultimately be included in a planned Gender Recognition Bill, set to be published in the autumn.’

In stark contrast, just before we went to press, President Trump announced a ban on transgender personnel in the US military, citing ‘the need to focus on victory’, the Washington Post reported.

And then, according to RT, in true ‘couldn’t make it up mode’, Rear Admiral Alex Burton, commander UK Maritime Forces, tweeted:  ‘As a Royal Navy LGBT champion and senior warfighter I am so glad we are not going this way.’  As one of those you would be glad, Admiral.  But as a husband and father you should know better.

 

‘This is a choice’

Education and Equalities Secretary Justine Greening announced the move as MPs set off for their summer recess last Friday.  Just days before, Jeremy Corbyn urged the Conservatives to allow people to ‘self-identify’.  The fiftieth anniversary of legalising sodomy also appears to have influenced the timing.  The Queen gave her Royal Assent to the Sexual Offences Act on 27th July 1967.

The Labour manifesto included plans for self-identification.  The Conservatives’ did not.  Nor did June’s Queen’s Speech include a Gender Recognition Bill.  It is safe to say that had the Tories included such a divisive measure they would have lost the election.

According to RT, Miss Greening ‘told Sky News on Sunday the state needs to “stop treating people changing their gender as if it’s some medical problem that needs fixing. Actually this is a choice that people are making and we need to try and make that choice more straightforward than it already is.”’

Suzanna Hopwood, a member of the sodomy advocacy group Stonewall’s Trans Advisory Group, agrees.  ‘It is vital” the reform removes the requirement for medical evidence and an intrusive interview panel,’ she said.  Miss Hopwood went on to describe the current system as ‘demeaning and broken.’  (‘Broken’ is a fashionable word with which to criticise Government policy or a state department’s handling of something.)

‘Still a long way to go’

A follow-up article in the Indy shows Prime Minister Theresa May as wholly supportive.  She said “when it comes to rights and protections for trans people, there is still a long way to go”.  Her predecessor, David Cameron, rode ‘gay marriage’ roughshod over his party’s opposition.  He even boasted about it in his resignation speech

But Tory activist Mary Douglas of Grassroots Conservatives strongly disagreed.  Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme, she said she was ‘very concerned’ about the move.  ‘In my view it should not be easy to do something as massive as change your gender,’ she said.  ‘And the law is there to protect us, normally from other people, but also sometimes from ourselves. I think many people have profound concerns about this.’

She went on:  ‘It is profoundly unconservative.  Conservative with a big C and small C implies continuity with what has gone before.’  She was asked if Miss Greenings’ own self-declared homosexuality had anything to do with the announcement.  Mrs Douglas replied: ‘It’s a possibility.’  She continued: ‘But I’m not going to suggest anything I don’t know. I don’t know Justine personally at all but the bigger issue here is not who is … considering introducing this policy, but the implications of the policy itself.’

‘They are deeply troubled’

The liberal Huffington Post reports activists were up in arms about further comments from Mrs Douglas.  They took particular exception to her suggestion that those with gender dysphoria have mental or emotional problems.

Mrs Douglas asked: ‘If somebody thinks they have a mismatch between how they think and the way their body is, the question is: which should be changed?’

Answering her own question, she said: ‘What’s interesting is that many people who have gender dysphoria also have other mental health conditions like depression or drug addiction. They are deeply troubled and it has been proven that when they change their gender, that doesn’t solve those issues.’

Activists called her ‘rude’, ‘bigoted’, insensitive’, ‘old-fashioned’ and even ‘disgraceful.’  Crucially, no-one appears to have put together a coherent response to show she was wrong.

The practicalities

We need to be very clear about why Christians need to oppose this measure.  Just at a practical level, it means that anyone can just decide to be the opposite gender to the one they were born with.  They will need no evidence.  Just their word will do.  In no other area would we accept someone’s word against scientific evidence.  The evidence here is that of simple genetics.

The proposal is a voyeurs’ charter, allowing men to visit ladies’ toilets and dressing rooms.  They will also absurdly be able to compete in athletics events this time against proper women.  We could be seeing the beginning of the end of women’s sport.  Sadly, in today’s post-truth world, being ridiculous will not stop this preposterous measure being enacted.

Additionally, the move will give a further push to the already-rolling transgender bandwagon.  More children will start deciding they are ‘in the wrong body’.  Shockingly, teachers and social workers have been encouraging such children.  Doctors too are prescribing powerful hormones to adolescent children to delay or block the onset of puberty.  Medicine is intended to cure.  Puberty blockers harm.  Sadly, medicine is not free of charlatans.  Surgeons too are ready to mutilate people’s God-given bodies into what they think they should be.  Some, as Mrs Douglas implied, will regret it.

Adults are meant to safeguard children from bad decisions.  But instead, authority figures are taking vicarious delight in these wrong-headed childish decisions.   They are perpetrating child abuse.  Some school or local authority, in a few years’ time, is going to be sued.

Rebellion against God’s creation

Moreover, at a theological level, we need to recognise that transgenderism is far worse than sodomy, even than ‘gay marriage’. Homosexuality rebels against God’s institution of the family.

The Bible records this moment in Genesis chapter 2:

Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

However, transsexuals and transgender apologists are in rebellion against creation itself. If we go back a chapter in Genesis, we find the chromosonal reality of the division of the sexes as an expression of God’s very image:

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God decides your gender, not you. Our generation wants to spit in the face of God.  The church has to stand firm and proclaim the whole Gospel.

The economic and security dimension

This brings us to the economic and security dimension. When the UK voted to leave the European Union, all sides agreed our Parliament could now pass our own laws. The EU would not allow the UK that freedom. We expressed a hope that the UK would now repent and start to enact godly laws.

Allowing self-determined gender choice was not and never will be in a list of godly laws.

Accordingly, by enacting a measure in sheer defiance of God’s righteousness, our legislators are bringing even more of God’s judgment on us.

Furthermore, with Brexit negotiations going on and Islamic extremists stalking the streets, we need all the economic and security blessings – and all the wisdom – the Almighty can bestow.

Make no mistake, if our nation is doing well, we shall all be doing well. Moreover, Christian people want the best for those sad individuals caught up in gender dysphoria, for the nation’s children and for the country of which we are a temporal part. God’s words to the captives in Babylon still ring true:

Jeremiah 29:7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

Charlie’s parents have ended their fight after a US doctor said it was now too late to treat their baby.  What would have happened had Great Ormond Street Hospital simply allowed them to take him to the US in March, we shall never know.

Many of us are now asking one question above all in the case of Charlie Gard.  Why does the judge not simply allow his parents to do what they think is best for their baby?

What is wrong with Charlie Gard?

Charlie Gard has a very rare mitochondrial disease, says an explanation in the Guardian.  His mitochondria are failing to supply energy to the cells in his body. This mitochondrial failure is leading to damage to his body’s organs.

Charlie is in intensive care at Great Ormond Street hospital in London.  Life support machines are keeping him alive because he cannot breathe by himself. The doctors say he has severe brain damage, and his heart, liver and kidneys are also affected.

However, Charlie’s mother, Connie Yates, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Monday that her son is responsive, enjoying tickles and watching videos with his parents. She also said that she had yet to see proof that her son had irreversible brain damage.

But the doctors say Charlie Gard ‘should be allowed to die with dignity’.  That just means die, in plain language.  Mr Justice Francis, sitting in the High Court, agreed death would be in Charlie’s ‘best interests’.  How is that?

Moreover, Charlie Gard’s parents, Chris Gard and Miss Yates, have raised over a million pounds to take Charlie to a hospital in the United States.  Doctors there are offering nucleoside therapy, an experimental drug treatment.  It might not even work.  It probably could not reverse what has already been damaged.

Nevertheless, according to the BBC, the family’s lawyers say ‘cutting edge genetic science’ gives a ‘small chance’ of brain recovery.  It is a chance ‘worth taking’. The Bible agrees with that positive view:

Ecclesiastes 9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

The parents have taken the case to the Court of Appeal.  They even went to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.  But all agreed that to prolong Charlie’s life would risk causing him further suffering.  The European Court gave permission for the hospital to switch off Charlie Gard’s life support systems. They said further treatment would not help him.

But then Pope Francis offered the services of the Bambino Gesù paediatric hospital’s neurosciences department in the Vatican.  President Trump also expressed his support for the parents.

In addition, commentators in the United States are amazed at our legal process and decisions.  News Channel 3 reports a CNN wire on the story with astonishment:  ‘Courts will not allow the hospital to release the baby, Charlie Gard, into the parents’ custody so they can travel to try an experimental treatment.’

The difference is that in the US, law begins with parental rights.  Here parents’ rights come second to the enforcement of parental responsibility to raise their children as the state sees best.  This is coupled with the nebulous ‘best interests of the child’.

Consequently, Great Ormond Street and Justice Francis have taken to themselves the parental rights of Mr Gard and Miss Yates.  Such a statist, secularist position simply cannot be right.

The Bible says: Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  It does not say those children are a heritage of the State.  Parental responsibility is grounded in parental rights.

People worldwide have given Charlie Gard’s parents huge financial and moral support.  Plainly the Biblical position strikes a chord in the public mind.  The parents have the money.  They are not asking the NHS to pay for anything.  Why can’t they go?

The case goes back to the High Court on Thursday.  Let us pray for a righteous outcome.  If not, the law must change.

Why Andy Burnham is wrong about Islam

Just after the Manchester Arena bombing, the Mayor of Manchester, Labour’s Andy Burnham, spoke on LBC Radio.

Accrding to LBC, Mr Burnham said: “The message that I would want to get over – and this is how the vast majority of people feel – this man was a terrorist, not a Muslim.

“He does not represent the Muslim community. We’ve got to keep that distinction in mind all the time. This was an unspeakable act. The worst thing that can happen is that people use this to blame an entire community, the Muslim community.

“In my view, the man who committed this atrocity no more represents the Muslim community than the individual who murdered my friend Jo Cox represents the white, Christian community.”

Now of course that is propaganda.  It is even more than Mr Burnham’s personal opinion.  It is the constant mantra of the political class and the mainstream media.  And it is merely their hope, not a polled fact, that ‘this is how the vast majority of people feel’.

Writing in the Independent, respected journalist Patrick Cockburn said: ‘Downplaying the religious motivation and saying the killers “have nothing to do with real Islam” may have benign intentions, but has the disadvantage of being glaringly untrue.’

In an earlier post I said Mr Burnham ‘devalues political discourse by claiming bomber Abedi was ‘a terrorist not a Muslim’.  If he was not a Muslim, what was he?  A Buddhist?  If they can’t face the truth, how will our leaders ever protect the public?’

Today, Jeremy Corbyn said British military adventures in the Middle East have put us all at greater risk than we would have been without them.  On Newsnight last night, Charles Clarke, not a Corbyn fan, said it all started long ago.  He specifically mentioned the 7/11 attack.  Indeed, that was the most dramatic example of a festering grievance between Islam and the West.

Both Mr Corbyn and Mr Clarke are clearly right.  The attacks put us at risk firstly by fueling hatred of ‘crusaders’ or infidels trampling over Muslim land such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria.  Secondly our politicians have endangered us by destabilising the entire Middle East.  Jeremy Corbyn was one of only thirteen MPs who voted against bombing Libya on 21st March 2011.  Those ‘Noes’ have been proved right.  Andy Burnham voted in favour.

Ben Wallace, the Conservative security minister, said the timing of the comments was ‘crass.’ No, the timing is just embarrassing for those supposed to be keeping the people secure.  And it highlights the urgent need for politicians such as Messrs Corbyn, Clarke and Wallace actually to tell us what they are going to do – starting from the uncomfortable place we are in.

But let us return to Mr Burnham.  Firstly because his comment about Thomas Mair is truly crass.  There is no evidence that Jo Cox’s murderer was or is a Christian. Not one report about his murky associations with US white supremacists mentions the possibility that he ever darkened the doors of a church, let alone gave his life to Christ. So leave us Christians, whatever colour we are, out of discussions about the murder of Jo Cox, will you, Mr Burnham?

Secondly, Mr Burnham’s musing that Salman Abedi’s terrorism somehow disqualifies him from being regarded as a Muslim is based, paradoxically, on a Christian world-view.  In that view, you can tell a tree by its fruit.  Christians are supposed to do good works.  They are not allowed by their religion to sin.  So if you see a unrepentant rapist or a thief or a murderer that person is not a Christian.  Is Islam like that?

The same sentiment behind Andy Burnham’s comment was voiced by the man who shouted at a suspected terrorist during a stabbing at Leytonstone tube station in December 2015, ‘You ain’t no Muslim, bruv’.

The man, a security guard called ‘John’, said he was upset by generalisations linking Muslims to extremism.   He said: “People look at Muslims, and look at Isis, and think they’re all the same. But obviously they’re not.

“Isis should be wiped out, because they’re not Muslims, because Muslims don’t do that. For people to be like that, they’ve obviously got stone hearts, they don’t care about society. They don’t care about anyone. They’re evil, pure evil.”

‘John’ of course is not a Muslim.  Nor does he actually know what a Muslim is.  No Muslim would ever say what ‘John’ said.  In fact, local Muslim leaders condemned the actions, but did not once claim the perpetrator, Muhaydin Mire, was not a Muslim.  All one of them managed was the ‘he had no links to the local mosque’.

Security Guard ‘John’ was making the same mistake as Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.  He too believes the commission of deeds which he thinks are evil stop the perpetrator from enjoying, if that is the right expression, the designation ‘Muslim’.

How to become a Muslim

But in Islam it doesn’t work like that.  Every Islamic website says the same.  Here is ‘IslamReligion.com’:  ‘

‘Becoming a Muslim is a simple and easy process.  All that a person has to do is to say a sentence called the Testimony of Faith (Shahada).’

The same website goes on:  ‘To be a Muslim, one should also believe that the Holy Quran is the literal word of God, revealed by Him and that the Judgment Day (Resurrection Day) is true and will come.  Believe in the prophets that God sent and the books He revealed, and in His angels, accept Islam as his/her religion.’   Finally, ‘Not worship anything nor anyone except God.’

It concludes:  ‘It is that easy! ‘

Five – or six – pillars of Islam

Indeed it is.  You become a Muslim just like that.  Having become a Muslim, the convert must observe the five pillars of Islam.  These are obligatory for Muslims and regarded as the core of pious Islamic life.

The Five Pillars are the Shahada, the five daily prayers (Salat), fasting during Ramadan (Sawm), giving 2.5% of one’s savings to the poor (Zakat) and doing a pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj).

The sixth pillar of ‘jihad’ is often added.  Jihad can be either an inner conflict to live a better life of the external conflict with the kaffir (unbelievers).  Studying the Quran is pretty much obligatory as well.

Whenever Muslims are discussing whether someone is a good Muslim of not, these are the things they mention.  It follows one can be a drug-dealer, or run a prostitution ring or an election fraud and still be a good, observant Muslim.  Muslim gangs in prisons are not repenting, they are radicalising.

Repentance in Islam

None of Islam is based on repentance.  Muslims believe that when someone becomes a Muslim, all his past bad deeds are forgiven.  But there is no act of repentance as there would be prior to a Christian baptism.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 

Repentance only applies to life as a Muslim.  In future, when the believer does something contrary to Islam, ‘he/she can always repent to God who forgives the sins of those who repent to Him sincerely’.

But equally, good deeds can cancel out bad deeds in Islam, unlike in Christianity.  No saviour is necessary. So to think that Islam is even a bit like Christianity is severely to misunderstand it.  And the Andy Burnham’s of this world do not understand it, how can they defend us against it?  (Or do they just trot out the ‘religion of peace’ stuff for the masses and think and speak differently in their Cobra meetings and conferences with the police?)

It is important to note that although Muslims are expected by their faith to do good works as we should uSnderstand them, these are not obligatory works of Islam in the say way as the daily prayers, for example.  Moreover, some Muslims, jihadists, might regard blowing up 22 infidels as a good deed.

There is actually nothing which anyone can do which will stop him being a Muslim.  You can be expelled from a mosque, but you can never be expelled from Islam.  In fact, leaving Islam is apostasy, which is punishable by death.

Not only can no-one be ex-communicated from Islam, no-one is ever even allowed to leave.

Islam is the Pitcher Plant of religions.  Once someone is enticed in (or born in), there is no escape.

The Duke of Cambridge has received an award from a wealthy group calling itself the British LGBT awards.

The LGBT group designated Prince William as ‘straight ally of the year’.  It appears the Prince was duped into supporting the homosexual activists’ Trojan horse of ‘anti-bullying’.

He has even appeared on the front cover of a homosexual magazine promoting the cause.  Neither Prince William nor his advisors seem to have realised the anti-gay-bullying campaign is just another gay propaganda tool.  The Bible says:

Proverbs 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

Activists use anti-bullying in schools, to recruit vulnerable teenagers.  Firstly they sucker schoolchildren into supporting the gay cause.

Secondly, if a child experiences any kind of homosexual attraction phase in adolescence, teachers and other authority figures encourage them to see themselves as possessing a ‘homosexual orientation’.

Lesbian activist Sarah Garrett founded the British LGBT Awards through the Square Peg Media (SPM) group. She built up SPM from 2005 with her lesbian partner Linda Riley.  Ms Riley remains as managing director.

Nevertheless, she nauseatingly refers to Ms Garrett as ‘my ex-wifey’.  Sarah Garrett gave birth to twin daughters by a sperm donor in 2007, when she was ‘with’ Ms Riley.  Two women can now be named on a birth certificate.  Welcome to the post-truth world.

As well as the LGBT awards, SPM also started something called ‘Alternative Parenting Week’.  Naturally, the Queen made Ms Garrett a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Years Honours List.  We cannot be bothered to look it up, but the excuse was probably ‘Services to Diversity’.  Sarah Garrett was no.36 on the Pride Power List at this time of writing.  Linda Riley does not appear.  Yes, Sir Ian McKellen is no.1 on the list and the ghastly God-hating Stephen Fry is no.2.

‘Progess on Equality’ means LGBT awards not needed

In a sign of the times, the National Westminster Bank is the major sponsor of the LGBT awards.  The awards become the ‘NatWest British LGBT awards’.  But if that makes you want to switch banks, Barclays and HSBC are also sponsors and Lloyds was slated for an award.  The Independent newspaper is ‘media sponsor’.

Sarah Garrett started up the LGBT Awards in 2015, when the Stonewall Awards closed down.  Stonewall is the UK’s major sodomy-promoting pressure group.  Their awards were notorious for including a ‘Bigot of the Year’ category.  This author was nominated for that category but disappointingly lost out to Melanie Phillips in 2011.

Why did Stonewall end the awards?  Stonewall Chief Executive Ruth Hunt cited society’s ‘progress on equality’ since the awards were first launched in 2005.  So did Stonewall drop the awards and Sarah Garrett just pick up the loose ball?  Did Stonewall possibly agree for Ms Garrett to take over?  Or did she just muscle in?  We shall probably never know.

What is safe to say is that Prince William took care to absent himself from bad company on Friday night.  He sent a video recording to the sequin-attired gay glitterati.

SPM will have agreed the award with the Prince’s office before he was nominated.  It was a bad decision to link up with those trying to destroy the Christian faith and promote sodomy to schoolchildren:

2Samuel 23:3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

Given that, it was a good call to stay away from the actual event.  The ex-athlete and Kardashian associate Bruce Jenner won an award called ‘Loud and Proud’.  Of course he won this posing as ‘transgender women’ ‘Caitlin Jenner’.

Diving flop Tom Daley and his twice-as-old American seducer Dustin Lance Black were jointly named as ‘influencers of the year’.  That award shows this ministry was right to criticise Daley after the 2016 Rio Olympics.  The diver was promoting his new gay lifestyle relentlessly.  By the grace of God he flopped in his final dive.  We can only imagine how great an ‘influencer’ Daley would have been had he won.  The BBC now refer to Black as Daley’s ‘husband’.  The two seem now to be gay-married.  But if Black is the ‘husband’ what does that make Daley?

Royal sanction for gay propaganda

The gay anti-bullying propaganda campaign now has royal sanction.  Consequently, Pastors and parents will need to be on even greater alert.  What are the schools teaching your children?  You need to find out.

Meanwhile, we can only pray the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will keep Prince George well away from the gay scene itself.  But all their mixing with the ‘luvvies’ of the entertainment world at a time when the whole Establishment is promoting an anti-life lifestyle of disease, death and degradation will make that hard to do.  Moreover, if his parents have totally lost their moral compass, the infant prince will be in real spiritual danger.

Theresa May has left herself wide open to criticisms of hypocrisy after this year’s (2017) Easter message. The Prime Minister said ‘Easter is a moment to reflect’.  TEXT HERE

In that case let us just reflect how her actions and those of Her Majesty’s Government measure up to what she said. We can go further and measure the actions of Her Majesty’s Government against the principles of the Christian faith itself.

Firstly, let’s just applaud a Prime Minister who talks openly about faith, and her own faith. The days when Alastair Campbell said of Tony Blair’s administration ‘We don’t do God’ seem to be over.

Of course, I’ll sit up and notice when the first British politician says ‘our thoughts and prayers’ are with the victims of a disaster, rather than just ‘our thoughts.’ Nevertheless, the mere issuing of an Easter message declares the UK to be a Christian nation. Which indeed constitutionally we are.

Opportunities and challenges of Brexit

I recognise there are areas in which Theresa May’s Christian faith as expressed in the Easter message appears to be lived out in action. The enthusiasm with which she is leading the United Kingdom out of the European Union’s Revived Roman Empire is commendable. We must pray she sees it through. And she is being positive about it. That is fine. Mrs May also wants to keep the United Kingdom together. There is nothing wrong in that.

In case I am thought to be nationalist and ‘right-wing’, let’s just emphasise workers’ rights. The Bible is clear that workers need fair dealing from employers. Parliament will need to untangle Britiah law from EU regulatons. In so doing ministers must ensure employment rights in an independent Britain are not eroded.

The vulnerable in the heart of God

The Christian faith is clear about the place the most vulnerable have in the heart of God. Christ singled out the poor, the homeless, the destitute, the sick and the hungry. He emphasised the duty of Christian people to nourish and protect them. Should that be individuals, or the state stepping in?

At a practical level, the targets culture of the 1980s built on the expansion of the role of local authorities in the 1960s to the point where people now are paid to care, so anyone calling for more money from the state in response to any deficiencies in provision for Christ’s identified groups can make out a good argument.

The insttution of the family used to be a bulwark against too much power ending up in the hands of the state, but gay ‘rights’ and gay ‘marriage’, coupled with no-fault divorce on demand and a bit of laissez-faire condom-promoting sex education have put paid to that.

There are none more vulnerable today than the unborn. The womb is the most dangerous place to be in Great Britain today. Mrs May only voted for the age limit on abortion to come down to twenty weeks last time around. The House of Commons diagreed. It stayed at 24 weeks. But we now know from modern imaging that a baby’s heart is beating three weeks after conception. Neuroscience shows babies can feel pain certainly at 16 weeks and react to a stimulus as 8 weeks. So elective abortion is living on borrowed time.

But to be fair, Mrs May did not raise the matter of the vulnerable, or the importance of the family in her Easter message.  She stuck to Easter-time, Brexit, shared values, the importance of Christian witness, sacrifice, the role of Christianity, religious tolerance, freedom of speech and the persecuted church.

So what of my three identified areas of hypocrisy.

Easter message: Freedom of Speech

Firstly, to Mrs May’s confidence ‘about the role that Christianity has to play in the lives of people in our country’. That was coupled in her Easter message with a stated determination to ‘treasure the strong tradition that we have in this country of religious tolerance and freedom of speech’. Furthermore, Mrs May pledged to ‘continue to ensure that people feel able to speak about their faith, and that absolutely includes their faith in Christ’.

Only last week, Sarah Kuteh was in front of an Employment Tribunal in Ashford, Kent. Sarah has been a nurse for 15 years. Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust sacked her last August (2016) for ‘gross misconduct’. What was her terrible offence? She discussed her faith with patients.

Now those in the National Secular Society would contend that sick people should be insulated from faith. That is precisely how NHS Trusts are acting. That is their clear policy.

‘Comfort and guidance’

But in her Easter message Mrs May implied this was not happening. She gave the clear impression she disagreed with such a policy. She spoke of Christians ‘providing comfort and guidance to many in our country at some of the most difficult moments in their lives’.

So why has she not already told her Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to issue a directive to NHS Trusts to encourage Christian doctors and nurses to actively share their faith with patients and provide that ‘comfort and guidance’? Why, on her watch, are NHS managers sacking Christian staff?

For that matter, Christian open-air preachers are being hauled before the courts.  Why has Amber Rudd, her Home Secretary, not sent a directive to police forces and public prosecutors to tell them to lay off Christian preachers and allow them to ‘speak about their faith’?

Someone who says one thing and does another is a hypocrite.

Embrace the World!

Secondly, the Prime Minister spoke in her Easter message of Christian values ‘of compassion, community, citizenship’. We are going to ‘embrace the world’. She might remember the Bible saying something about guiding our feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:79). Or perhaps castigating those whose ways are ‘destruction and misery’, those with no fear of God who do not know ‘the way of peace’ (Rom 3:16-18 cf Isa 59:7-8).

Yet our famously Christian PM re-appointed as Secretary of State for Defence a man lacking both the fear of God and the way of peace. In particular, Sir Michael Fallon insults, rather than embraces, that part of the world known as the Russian Federation.

His latest display of petulance was to send out a destroyer to shadow a couple of corvettes, named Soobrazitelny and Boiky, as they steamed through the English Channel from their Baltic port en route to the Mediterranean.

Fallon said: ‘HMS Sutherland is carefully marking these Russian ships as they pass close to UK waters. The Royal Navy maintains a vigilant watch and is always ready to keep Britain safe.’

No doubt it does and it is. But what was he suggesting? That Soobrazitelny was preparing to shell Dover, or Boiky to land an invasion force of marines on Bognor beach?  Does he think we are all stupid?

Department for Provocation

A Christian administration would not pretend there are threats where none exist. Its ministers would not think the Ministry of Defence is really the Department for Provocation.  They would not be talking up threats from another Christian nation to sell armaments.  They would not make bellicose noises every time the ships of that nation pass through the busiest shipping lane in the world (which happens to be near our shores). There was no indication the French or Belgians burned diesel oil putting to sea. The Channel is international water.

In February, Her Majesty’s Secretary of State for Defence described the Russian aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov as a ‘ship of shame skulking through the Channel’.  It was simply on its way home after helping the Syrian army liberate Aleppo. The defeat of the UK’s favoured and financed jihadists had irritated UK politicians. But why not be magnaminous?  Why expose a petulant display of aggression and military impotence which diminished Her Majesty?  It drew unwelcome attention to the fact that the UK does not even have an operational aircraft carrier.

To invoke the message of Easter while beating the drum of war is rank hypocrisy.

Thirdly, mention of Aleppo draws our attention to yet another hypocritcal section of Mrs May’s Easter message.

The Prime Minister said: ‘And we must do more to stand up for the freedom of people of all religions to practice their beliefs openly and in peace and safety.’

But the UK continues to support, politically and financially, Syrian Sunni Muslim jihadists whose reason for being is to murder or expel ‘people of all religions’ – except their own.

Speaking of alleged Christian freedom in the UK, Mrs May went on: ‘We must be mindful of Christians and religious minorities around the world who do not enjoy these same freedoms, but who practise their religion in secret and often in fear’.

So why not support Assad?

We should expect ‘being mindful’ to include some measure of support. So why in Syria does the UK not do everything it can to bolster the administraton of President Assad? After all, he has a track record of protecting ‘Christians and religious minorities’?

Instead, she is carrying on the policy of her predecessor of destabilising Syria. That nation had done nothing to us, yet we cheered with the Devil, who loves to destroy, as it was reduced to rubble. If Theresa May really believes ‘we must do more’ to stand up for Christians worldwide, she should order a complete turn-around on Syria, on the Foreign Office’s attitude to Russia, and on aggression against Christians worldwide.

Because right now, when Her Majesty’s Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, tells the Russians they are on the ‘wrong side of history’ by their alliance with Shia Iran and Syria, he himself is precisely wrong. It is the British Government’s support of Sunni Muslim jihadism and our alliance with Saudi Wahhabism which is on the wrong side.

Practising Christianity in fear

Going further, Mrs May should be speaking to the Government of Malaysia, to that of Egypt and to the rulers of Saudi Arabia demanding freedom for Christians. In fact, she has only just come back from Saudi Arabia. Did she demand freedom for those ‘who practise their religion in secret and often in fear’? There are many secret Christians in Saudi Arabia, some in high places. Where is any evidence of Mrs May ‘doing more’ for them?

Come to that, when was Pakistan’s High Commissioner last summoned to a talking-to from the Foreign Secretary over his country’s failure to protect Christians from spurious blasphemy charges?

Mrs May is playing mere lip-service to persecuted Christians. She is doing nothing to help them. Homosexuals are more welcome in the UK than refugee Christians. Tragically, for her, trade deals and selling arms are more important. That is yet more hypocrisy.

Three major areas raised by Mrs May in her Easter message from her Christian faith. Three glaring examples of hypocrisy. How Her Majesty’s Government needs our prayer.

 

Treaty of Rome: signed where and why?

European Leaders are gathering in Rome, the Emperor Hadrian’s ‘Eternal City’, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.  The Treaty was signed on 25th March 1957.

The champagne quaffing will however be somewhat tempered by the imminent arrival of That Article 50 Letter.  UK Prime Minister Theresa May is set to start the Brexit process next Wednesday.  Indeed, EU leaders pleaded with her not to do it during this week.

Where was the Treaty of Rome actually signed?

The Europa website says: ‘This will be an occasion to reflect on the state of the European Union and the future of the integration process.’  Integration process?  Donald Tusk, President of the European Council also spoke of ‘sixty years of integration’.  They don’t give up, do they?

We praise Almighty God for pulling the United Kingdom out of the ambitious, vainglorious Euro-Empire.  But we can do so with even more enthusiasm.  To do that we need to ask a couple of very simple questions:

Firstly, exactly where was the Treaty of Rome actually signed in ‘the Eternal City?’

Secondly, why was that spot chosen, and by whom?

A Revived Roman Empire

This author stood, almost a year ago, in the very room in which the Treaty of Rome was signed.  It is now part of a museum.  But what was there before?  What was it built on?  No-one before had joined together these particular spiritual dots.  The resulting 3 minute 40 second video gives the answers: The European Union’s Pagan Foundation.  (All links open in a new tab automatically.)  It traces a link from Babel through Babylon and the Pergamos of Revelation 2:13 to ancient Rome.

But why was the Treaty of Rome signed in this particular spot?  And make no mistake, it is a place with great significance to the European Union.  In fact, the doomed Constitution was signed by European leaders at the very same place in 2004.  To answer the question, It is only necessary to look at the intentions of the man who became known as the first Eurocrat.  Paul-Henri Spaak, the EU’s architect, was convinced he was reviving the Roman Empire.  This second video, The European Union’s Roman Empire, explains all.  It’s just under 4 minutes.

Article 50 will be triggered next week, God willing.  But we still need to remember it’s not over till it’s over.  This author will be delighted to come to your church or fellowship to share insights into the European Union and help keep the prayer going.

Pray: Praise God for his mercy in taking the UK out of the EU’s revived Roman Empire. And as the leaders of the remaining 27 gather to celebrate 60 years of the Treaty of Rome, pray for an end to the EU’s ambitions.  Pray the EU comes to an end peacefully.

This article by the BBC’s David Willey confirms the spiritual significance of the venue.  It is worth a read.

He says the signatories, ‘were gathered at the very hub of the ancient world where, 2,500 years ago, six centuries before Christ, the foundations were laid of Rome’s first major temple, dedicated to Jupiter, king of the gods’.  A Revived Roman Empire indeed.

Anti-Transgender bus banned from Barcelona

A bus with an anti-transgender message in Spanish has been banned from Barcelona and not allowed to move in Madrid.

And now a judge has supported Madrid’s capture of the bus, reports the BBC.  Jose Juan Escalonilla said the bus could not move until the slogans, including “if you are born a man, you are a man”, were removed.

The story made Breitbart, after which the BBC and RT took it up. Secularists, of course, are incensed.  RT’s story gives more detail and pictures some anti-Christian slogans photo-shopped onto the original bus image.

In fact the slogans go further than that.  The bus was painted in response to an advertisement placed by ‘trans’ activists featuring a crude cartoon of two boys and two girls, all naked, in which one of each sex is pictured with the genitalia of the other.  In a sop to normality, the ‘boy’ figures have short hair, the ‘girl’ ones long hair.  The BBC link above reprints the cartoon.

It said: “Hay niñas con pene y niños con vulva. Así de sencillo”.  ‘Hay’ is ‘there are’, ‘niñas’ is ‘girls’, ‘niños’ is ‘boys’ while ‘Así de sencillo’ means ‘It’s that simple’.  You can work out the obvious words for genitals.

Anti-transgender response

But is it that simple?  The bus disagreed: ‘Los niños tienen penes, las niñas tienen vulva, que no te engañen”. “Si naces hombre, eres hombre. Si eres mujer, seguirás siéndolo”.

To help you translate, ‘tienen’ is ‘they have’. ‘que no te engañen’ means ‘Don’t be fooled’.  Breitbart helps us with the rest:  ‘If you are born a man, you are a man. If you are a woman, you will still be one.’

The bus was impounded under municipal rules against outdoor advertising.  The judge did not find the bus went as far as being a hate crime.  However, he said the bus was an “act of contempt”.  Moreover, it was meant to “injure” the dignity of people of a different sexual orientation, according to Spanish newspaper El Pais.

Furthermore, Señor Escalonilla said the bus may not move until the slogans are removed.

Make yourself heard

The bus belongs to a Catholic group, Hazte Oir, but it was funded anonymously.  The group plans to take it on a nationwide tour of Spanish cities.

Ignacio Arsuaga, the president of Hazte Oir, which translates as “Make yourself heard”, argued the group had a right to protest against “laws of sexual indoctrination” and had the right to freedom of speech, says the BBC.

The group contend Madrid City Council’s “kidnap” of the bus was “clearly illegal”.

Mr Arsuaga claimed the slogan on the bus stated only “a fact of biology that is studied in schools”.

The Mayor of Barcelona said the controversial coach would not be welcome there.  He wrote on Twitter: “In Barcelona there is no place for LGBT-phobic buses. We want our children to grow in freedom and without hatred.”

Of course, in the rarified atmosphere of gender identity, anti-transgender people speaking the truth have no defence against a charge of ‘hatred’.

A flood of activism

There has been a flood of transgender activism recently.  Firstly, the BMA banned the expression ‘pregnant mothers’ in case it offended ‘trans men’  Secondly, the SUN newspaper ludicrously described a woman called Hayden Cross as a ‘pregnant man.’  Then we reported a father-of-three working as a photographer at Bournemouth Football Club deciding he is now ‘Sophie’.  Next, we had the ‘transgender doll’ from the USA.

Finally, at least to date, the girl who sang the US National Anthem at President Trump’s Inauguration has chipped in.

Just days ago, Mr Trump overturned Obama-era guidance allowing transgender students to use school ‘rest-rooms’ matching their gender identity. As a consequence, boys in frocks can no longer pop up in the girls’ toilets.

It turns out Jackie Evancho’s brother thinks he is a girl.  So Miss Evancho, 16, now wants to meet the President and “enlighten” him on the transgender issue.

In return, he might bring in a singing teacher to enlighten Miss Evancho on where to find a bottom A flat.

Take a stand

But seriously, as if singing within your range is not serious, we all, from the President down, need to take a stand.

We all need to say very clearly that no amount of hormone drugs and no grotesque surgical mutilation will ever stop a man being genetically a man and a woman remaining genetically a woman.  After all, if you seriously and honestly believed you were Long John Silver, would you really expect doctors to cut off your leg and buy you a parrot?  Medicine is given because someone is ill.  Doctors should heal, not destroy.  Of course ‘Trans’ people have issues, but they need help to accept their body at a psychological, emotional and dare we say spiritual level.   Some may even need deliverance.  But none needs the surgeon’s knife.

Welcome to the Post-Truth World

In the UK of course, the House of Commons started the rot in 2004.  Regrettably, they passed the Gender Recognition Act in that fateful year.  Under it, men and women can now go back and falsify their birth certificates.

As a result, Parliament legislated a lie.  So welcome to the ‘post-truth’ world.

Pray for the truth to triumph.  Pray for righteousness to prevail in a world parting company with reality.  You could pray the bus is released and continues on its prophetic journey through Spain.  Pray it wakes us all up and starts a movement.  Above all, never forget always to refer to people by their God-given gender, never by their assumed one!

Bristol Magistrates Convict Preachers

Bristol Court tramples on freedom of speech

A magistrates court in Bristol has convicted two Christian preachers charged with public order offences.

The case against two other men collapsed.

Justices of the Peace Mr Robert Stacey (Chairman), Mr Gerry McDermot and Mrs Josephine Ramsden gave judgment on Tuesday 28th February 2017. The justices rode roughshod over principles of freedom of speech set out in a catalogue of previous cases.

They imposed a fine and costs on each convicted totalling £2016.

Afterwards it emerged Robert Stacey is a high-ranking Freemason – Click here for our investigation into ‘the craft’.

The case arose over an outreach in Bristol city centre last July (2016). Four preachers were setting out the Gospel in front of John Wesley’s Chapel in Broadmead.

Out of the four, Don Karns had charges laid and then withdrawn. Having heard the prosecution case against Adrian Clark, their worships decided he had no case to answer. That left Michael Overd and Michael Stockwell who were found guilty today.

Public Order Act

The men were prosecuted under the Public Order Act 1986. This says, at Section 5:
‘(1) A person is guilty of an offence if he—
‘(a) uses threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
‘(b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening or abusive, ‘within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.’

The Court saw a video of the whole event recorded by one of the defendants.

In the video Mr Overd described the crowd as ‘depraved’ because of their ignorance of God. He told them he had been like that himself. He said all mankind were liars and thieves, and he specifically included Mohammed and the Buddha in that. Allah was a false god, he said, and only Jesus Christ was the way to salvation. He denounced extra-marital sex and homosexual behaviour.

But the Crown, said Mr Ian Jackson, prosecuting, held that these ‘crossed the line’.

Mr Stockwell told the crowd the ‘Thief comes to kill, steal and destroy’. ‘People were on their way to hell because of their failure to adopt the world view of Christianity’, said Mr Jackson.

The inclusion of homosexuality in a list containing thieves and drunkards also crossed the line into abuse.

But Michael Phillips, defending, told the court the list of sinners was in the Bible, at 1Cor 6:9-10. It was the same passage cited in the Appeal Court case of Alison Redmond-Bate, where important principles of free speech were laid down and her conviction set aside.

There, as in this case, said Mr Phillips, a hostile crowd gathered and the police were called to maintain order. There, as in this case, the preachers rather than the trouble-makers were wrongly arrested.

Witnesses gave false evidence

The prosecution brought four witnesses. Event Sales Manager Dimitri Lavallée, describing himself as a Buddhist, had called the police, by falsely telling them the preachers were making racist and homophobic statements. He saw no violence and heard no threats. He evidently did not like ‘peoples faith and lifestyle choices’ being criticised.

Witness Ahsanul Khan said he was shopping and engaged the preachers about Islam and the authenticity of the Bible. He agreed he enjoyed the cut and thrust of debate. But he did not like the preachers ‘saying all of us were sinners’. They were ‘discriminating us’, he said.

Alexander Walker could not remember the substance of any remarks but said some in the crowd were ‘incensed’ by them.

Finally, Lindsay Tamsin Powell said she was in Bristol’s Broadmead saw a placard about Islam and heard the preachers say gay people ‘would burn in hell’. A preacher told a gay person he was ‘disgusting’, she said.

She stayed for about an hour, did not see any violence, but said she was ‘upset’. Ms Powell did not to see people ‘hated on’. She thought we should be ‘nice to each other’. The preachers ‘told a Muslim guy he would burn in hell’, she said.

Mr Phillips asked Lindsay Powell to identify which man in the dock said gays and Muslims would ‘burn in hell’. She pointed to Mr Stockwell. But it was never said, Mr Phillips told her. ‘Disgusting’ was never said either. There was no anti-Islam placard. Her testimony was false.

All the witnesses accepted they had stayed around and anyone was free to listen or to leave.

Provoking violence?

Mr Robert Stacey, speaking on behalf of the bench, said the case revolved around whether the individual behaviour of the two defendants crossed the line between freedom of speech and public disorder. He said the case law set the bar very high before the law should intervene. Speakers had to ‘move into the territory of provoking violence’, he said.

The court heard no evidence of any violence. But the bench held the mere fact some disorderly elements in the crowd became restless meant the preachers had provoked violence. Mr Stacey, who had some difficulty in reading what he had written and pronouncing long words like ‘Catholicism;, said the preachers were abusive and disorderly.

In addition, they were motivated by hostility to religious beliefs and therefore the offence was ‘aggravated’. This was despite the statute law saying religious aggravation only kicked in when hatred was directed at members of a religious group, not at their religious beliefs in isolation.

The case was proved ‘beyond all reasonable doubt’, added Mr Stacey.

Bristol case highlights uncertainty

Mr Phillips told Christian Voice there was an automatic right of appeal to the Crown Court to be heard by a circuit judge, far more learned in the law than lay magistrates. Moreover, it is almost certain the convictions will be quashed there. But in the meantime, Mr Overd and Mr Stockwell have this conviction hanging over them and other preachers – and the law – appear to be in a state of uncertainty.

It surely cannot stand, as Mr Overd reported, that some police forces maintain the right of preachers to freedom of speech while others arrest them. There should be much better guidance both to police forces in the United Kingdom and to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Michael Overd and Michael Stockwell have appealed to the Crown Court.  The last time that happened, the Crown’s case collapsed.  It will again.  What happened last time is still a good read!  Street preaching is legal!

Abortion ship blocked as pressure builds

Pressure to legalise abortion is growing world-wide, thanks to international funding led by financier George Soros, Christian Voice has discovered.

The billionaire is behind moves to repeal a pro-life constitutional amendment in the Republic of Ireland.  He is almost certainly also involved with a Dutch abortion boat run by the ‘Women on Waves’ group.

The financier also funded the presidential campaign of Republican contender John Kasich.  The Ohio Governor repaid Soros by vetoing the state’s ‘fetal heartbeat’ bill.

Today, news broke that police in Guatemala have blocked a yacht offering abortion pills.  Accordingly, Women on Waves, run by Dutch national Rebecca Gomperts, may not disembark the vessel.  Police are also preventing anyone boarding.  President Jimmy Morales deployed the army.  A spokesman said it would defend “human life and the laws of our country” by preventing the group from carrying out abortions.

Reuters reports that the abortifacient dispensed ‘combines two medicines, mifepristone and misoprostol’.  The news agency said: ‘It is more than 90 percent effective for women up to 10 weeks pregnant’.

The boat takes women out to international waters to administer the drug.  It only docks in countries where abortion is illegal.  But it is as much a publicity stunt as a ‘pro-choice’ facility.

Where does the money come from?

Women on Waves is coy about where the money comes from.  Nevertheless, this document from a court dispute gives some details.  It says Women on Waves ‘has received grants from organizations including the Global Fund for Women (United States), the Mondrian Foundation (Netherlands), and the Mama Cash Foundation (Netherlands)’.

To add to the mix, the Dutch humanist HIVOS group gave money towards a film about Women on Waves.  Mama Cash, a source of money for anti-Christian projects worldwide, was also listed.  The Soros Open Society says it provides joint funding with HIVOS.  Where you find HIVOS you will usually find Soros.  The world of antichrist funding groups is highly incestuous.

Moreover, a highly revealing website for women’s ngos in Kyrgystan confirms the point.  It lists Hivos, Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan, Open Society Foundation and Mama Cash as donors.  Joining them are the California-based  Global Fund For Women, the American Hunt Alternatives Fund and Urgent Action Fund.  The latter always pops up promoting abortion or feminism in the developing world.  Lastly, the Democracy Commission of the Embassy of the USA and the European Union help fund the Kyrgystan feminists.  President Trump and Brexiteers kindly note.

Campaign to repeal Ireland’s Eighth Amendment

Meanwhile, abortionists are agitating in Ireland.   The Republic passed the pro-life ‘Eighth Amendment’ of the Constitution of Ireland in 1983 by a two to one majority.  The Amendment gives explicit recognition to the right to life of an unborn child. Accordingly, it effectively introduced a constitutional ban on abortion.

But there is pressure to repeal the Amendment.  Activists feel emboldened by the Republic’s vote to allow ‘gay marriage’ in 2015.  They believe the times they are a-changing enough to secure a majority to scrap ‘the Eighth’. Nevertheless, there is hostility to them.  Strangely enough, an LGBT group is among their opponents.

As part of the campaign, a group of girls who do not appear to have done much work are calling for a ‘strike of women.’  No doubt the mainstream media will give ‘Strike4Repeal‘ huge publicity on 8th March 2017.

But who is funding Strike4Repeal? LifeSiteNews reports: Soros’ New York City-based Open Foundations document focuses on repealing the pro-life Eighth Amendment’.  Consequently, he will give ‘heavy funding for the Abortion Rights Campaign, Amnesty International Ireland, and the Irish Family Planning Association.  Above all, Soros intends they will  “work collectively on a campaign to repeal Ireland’s (Eighth) constitutional amendment.”

But does Strike4Repeal receive Soros money?  Firstly, any group like that needs money to carry out its campaign.  Secondly, there are parallels between the modus operandi of Strike4Repeal and previous Soros agitations.  He funded Pussy Riot and Femen who adopt similar poses (albeit bare-breasted in the case of Femen) and shock tactics.  He was behind protests against Donald Trump’s inauguration.  Thirdly, a Soros’ foundations document says ‘legalization of same-sex “marriage” presents “valuable and timely opportunities to advance the (pro-abortion) campaign.”’  Fourthly, it just has Soros fingerprints all over it.

One thing we can be certain of.  Pro-abortion movements, like pro-sodomy ngos, do not spring up in countries out of the blue.  They are rarely indigenous.  There is always money from external affluent western ‘philanthropists’ behind them.  If it is not Soros it is Hivos, or Mama Cash.  If not them, Ford Foundation or Gates Foundation step in.  Or Carnegie.  Or the Rockefeller or Tides Foundaton.  Similarly, the Atlantic Philanthropies may contribute.  Or the Gulbenkian Foundation.

Please pray at this time particularly for Guatemala and the Republic of Ireland to stand firm against the abortionist assault.  The Bible says:  Proverbs 16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

We read that only Christ will bring in perfect government, but that does not mean earthly governments should not try to rule by God’s standards:  Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 

As to the antichrist NGOs, the Bible says:  Proverbs 25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

The Bible says of king Ahaz: 2Chr 28:3  Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

The passage is speaking about child sacrifice.  Abortion is our modern version of it. Many nations including Great Britain are now polluted because of this shedding of innocent blood.  Israel did the same, as the Psalmist declares:  Psalm 106:38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.  So pray also for repentance in those nations who have legalised this abomination, for the slaughter to stop.

The world’s first ‘transgender doll’ is appearing at this week’s New York Toy Fair, according to the BBC.

There have been thousands of tweets about the Tonner Doll Company product. The Twitter-sphere is divided between those supporting and those ridiculing the stunt.

So how do you make a ‘transgender doll’? The manufacturers say: ‘This is an 18″ doll, much like that of every other child doll out there.’ ‘The doll itself is hard plastic and vinyl and no specific parts, much like all the dolls we have created …’ Pictures show the doll is wearing girls’ clothing.

Modelled on activist

In fact there is only one thing that makes this a ‘transgender doll’. Its facial features are modelled on a teenage activist born a boy, now living as a female. That is why the doll has a slightly masculine face.

Jazz Jennings shot to fame, says the BBC, after an interview he did about gender dysphoria. Popular US TV presenter Barbara Walters conducted the interview.

We learn from Jazz’s reaction that he is being paid royalties for the doll’s use of his image: “I love her. A portion of my proceeds will be donated to help trans youth who are struggling.”

He goes on: “Of course it is still just a regular girl doll because that’s exactly what I am: a regular girl!” Now 16, Jazz says: “I heavily insisted that I WAS a girl.”

But Jazz, you are not. Protest and insist all you want, but you are and always will be genetically a man.

And Jazz, the doll, Tonner Dolls and the story itself are influencing our cultural environment. They change our perceptions, little by little. Jazz hopes it will “place transgender people in a positive light” In other words, the doll is a campaigning stunt. And it can only add to the adverse pressures on children who may be confused or struggling with gender dysphoria (not liking your gender).

There is another dimension to this. Recently Starbucks said it would take on 10,000 refugees. They made the announcement after President Trump’s ‘travel ban’. US taxi firm Lyft joined the bandwagon. It told the Twitter world it would donate $1 million to the anti-Christian American Civil Liberties Union. There are many more examples. Adidas and Nike praised the contribution of immigrant workers. AirBnB said it would give them free accommodation.

Getting away from refugees, card manufacturers boast of the trees they are planting. Kenco Coffee is training young gang members in Honduras to be coffee farmers. Dove portrays ‘normal’ women rather than models in its Dove Campaign for Real Beauty. Even back in 2015, Coca-Cola removed its logo from its in the Middle East during Ramadan. It replaced it with a message that read “Labels are for cans, not people.” Sales went up.

As we went to press, Apple did a bit of transgender promoting having previously joined the refugee ban protests.

For years we have had celebrities indulging in “virtue signalling”. Bob Geldof wanted to ‘Feed the World’. Singer Lily Allen apologised to a refugee in the Calais jungle. Bono too has been to refugee camps and organised ‘Live8′. He was rewarded with a seat at last weekend’s Munich Security Conference.

But we needed another term for brand promotion on the back of social activism.  Mathew Dixon, director at brand specialist Hudson Walker, has now coined the term ‘Activism Marketing’ to describe the phenomenon. “It is clear a major change is afoot. Welcome to uber-politicised retail. Forget Sex. Activism is what will make or break a brand in 2017,” he says.

Dixon goes on: “The real challenge around activism marketing is how much to actually promote the philanthropic aspect to a campaign – how much can you tell everyone how generous you are, without it looking insincere? But likewise, what is the point of making a grand gesture or donation and not letting the world know about it? After all, a business has to sell product at the end of the day. The answer probably comes from how deeply embedded these values are within the company culture.”

Alex Holder, writing in the Guardian, is less generous: “Companies are now attempting to outdo each other with major acts of generosity, but there’s a catch; they’ll do good as long as they can make sure their customers know about it. There is no room for humility when a brand does a good deed.”

Starbucks and AirBnB “are helping refugees because it sells milky lattes and cheap holiday accommodation”.

Holder quotes marketing expert Will Fowler, creative director of Headspace. “Our activism is currently mediated by brands,” he says. “Brands are allowing people to pat themselves on the back without them personally having to sacrifice anything.”

Divisive

There is certainly a market into which activism marketing can sell. We were deluged with hostile tweets after our article on AFC Bournemouth. Many tweeters thought it was just great that a football club should finance a youth gay group. Many supported transgender photographer Steve ‘Sophie’ Cook. Those people are Tonner Doll’s market.  Buy this doll instead of that doll and a liberal-minded parent can be rewarded with a warm, fuzzy, smug feeling.

But for companies, hazards await. An activism marketing campaign is of its nature divisive. You have to be sure your market is in tune with that activist cause. Starbucks probably have it right. They reckon not many latte drinkers care about the indigenous labour-base. On the other hand, they may have misjudged the mood.  And it matters.  Get it wrong, and you can alienate as many people as you attract.

We can but pray Tonner Dolls will find that out.

The UK Government’s Civil Partnership law has been thrown into confusion by a case heard today in the Court of Appeal.

Charles Keidan and Rebecca Steinfeld brought a case demanding the right to enter into a Civil Partnership.  Currently, under the Civil Partnership Act, only homosexuals can apply.  Or to be more specific, unrelated persons of the same sex.

Civil Partnership Act

Civil Partners are granted all the rights of marriage. They are free of inheritance tax on property which passes from one to the other on the death of a party to the ‘partnership’.  They are also excused from being compelled to testify against each other.  In general, neither can be compelled to give evidence against the other. That exemption could be crucial in a sexual abuse case involving a third party, for example.

The Act was meant to convey all the benefits of marriage. At the time it was passed, the Government of the day, under Tony Blair, gave a number of undertakings.  Among them was an assurance that marriage for homosexual couples was out of the question.  Heterosexuals had marriage, homosexuals had civil partnership, they said.

However, one parliament cannot bind a successor.  David Cameron’s Conservatives legislated for ‘gay marriage’ in 2012.  And of course all Tony Blair’s promises counted for nothing.  Nor did the Tories do away with civil partnerships in the process.  So homosexuals now have two options for state recognition of their relationship and heterosexuals just one.  That is what Charles Keidan and Rebecca Steinfeld argued was unfair.  And the judges agreed it breaches their right to a family life.

Government considering their options

Nevertheless, the couple did not secure a ruling that the situation was unlawful.  The Government are considering their options at the moment.  They are looking into the whole situation of civil partnerships in the light of gay marriage.  That saved them.

But as Rebecca Steinfeld said after the hearing, the matter cannot stand as it is.  There is an inequality.  So what should we pray the Government do?

They can hardly repeal the Civil Partnership Act.  Numerous homosexual couples took advantage of it.  Most believied it was all they were going to get.  Some have ‘converted’ their partnerships into ‘gay marriage’.  But others reject the symbolism of marriage.  Perhaps they are more astute.

But that leaves heterosexual couples who perhaps don’t care for the ‘patriarchy’ of marriage out on a limb. if Parliament extends civil partnerships to them, the Government will lose millions in inheritance tax.  And what about spinster sisters living together?  Should they include them as well?

What should we pray for?

We are like the travellers trying to reach a West Country town from deep in the Devon lanes.  They asked a local man what route they should take.  ‘Well’, he said, ‘If I was you, I wouldn’t be a-starting from ‘ere’.

Our Government instituted wickedness with the Civil Partnership Act.  They made matters worse with the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act.  Anything they do now will devalue marriage further.  So what can we pray for except wholesale repentance?  Leave your comment below, please!

A Premiership Football Club is promoting homosexual propaganda to children, Christian Voice has discovered.

Relegation strugglers Bournemouth AFC are co-sponsoring a 2017 SchoolsOut’s LGBT ( Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transsexual) History Month event to be held this Saturday (18th February).

The other main sponsor is Bournemouth University.  The event is called ‘OUTing the past’

Yet another sponsor of the Schools Out event is a homosexual contact group called Space Youth Project.

Space Youth Project, according to its website, appears to exist in order to advise confused adolescents that a transient homosexual phase is indicative of a permanent ‘orientation’. It is in the business of messing up children’s lives, in other words.   Bournemouth AFC funds this organisation through its ‘nominated charity’ policy.

February, of course, is LGBT History Month.  It is a time when parents should be watching even more carefully than usual what is happening in their children’s schools. The SchoolsOut LGBT history month website lists Labour’s Angela Eagle MP among its patrons.  It has friends in high places.

Saturday’s event has speakers such as Cheryl Morgan, probably not his real name, trying to find ‘Trans Women in the Ancient World’.  Lesbian activist Jenny White will speak on what lesbians do in bed.  Actor Stephen Ashfield is discussing ‘the history of our community’, as if homosexuals are a race apart.  Schools Out intern Lizzie Wallis will kick off proceedings praising Schools Out for promoting homosexuality to vulnerable schoolchildren.  Obviously, she wants compulsory sex education.

The description of the event says: ‘OUTing the Past: Bournemouth is a free public event that along with other festival hubs around the country will present a one day showcase of historical or archival readings and personal testimonies that uncover the rich, and often lost, history of the LGBT community.

He also refused to tell us how much cash Bournemouth are giving to enable Saturday’s Schools Out event to proceed.  He referred us to Bournemouth AFC’s Press Office.  They also refused to comment.

There is plainly some embarrassment among the Bournemouth AFC top brass that their sponsorship of these activities has come in for public scrutiny.  Or perhaps there is indecision over just how to defend their position.  Either way, we can be sure the decision, or indecision, originates with Bournemouth AFC chairman Jeff Mostyn.

The news has been full of how football coaches have sexually groomed young boys. We fully expected the Club to respond to suggestions that it is financing projects – no doubt run by adults – which could be viewed as a form of sexual grooming.

It gets worse. Last season, Bournemouth AFC’s official photographer was Steve Cook. The twice married father-of-three has now decided he is a woman. Mr Cook is now calling himself Sophie.

According to the Bournemouth Echo, the first ‘transgender woman’ in UK football has been ‘totally accepted’ by players and fans after decades of feeling – you will never guess – ‘trapped in the wrong body’. But the truth is, despite taking female hormones, nothing will ever stop ‘Sophie’ being genetically a man.

And again, this is a time when gender confusion is being promoted in the classroom. Four-year-olds are saying they feel ‘trapped in the wrong body’. Doctors are prescribing powerful hormone drugs to troubled adolescents to delay the onset of puberty.

For Bournemouth AFC to give even tacit endorsement of such unethical medical interventions is a disgrace.  It can only serve to add to the pressure on small children to jump on the fashionable transgender bandwagon.

Tesco infamously sponsored the London Gay Pride March in July 2012.  The supermarket then endured a catastrophic few years. Christians staged a boycott. Tesco profits tumbled, new ventures went bust and they flouted planning laws. Tesco pulled out of the US after losses left their board red-faced. We reported ‘The curse of Gay Pride 2012 continues to dog Tesco‘.  Even this month, Tesco was caught out overcharging customers after promotions expired at the check-out but were still displayed on the shelves.

The Co-op Bank fared little better. They told Christian Voice in 2005 our custom was not wanted. We were at odds with their pro-gay ‘diversity’ policies. Than in 2012 the Co-op Bank sponsored no fewer than fifteen gay pride events all over the UK.

The ‘Ethical Bank’ were soon caught overcharging for mortgages. In 2012 the greedy Co-op failed to grab Lloyds Bank customer accounts, pulling out over financial irregularities.  In 2014 the pro-gay outfit lost a staggering £1.3 billion.

Their homosexual chairman resigned after he was caught doing drugs. Paul Flowers was filmed buying crack cocaine, crystal meth and ketamine.  The Co-op Bank has now put itself up for sale.

Meanwhile, in the world of sports, diver Tom Daley flopped at the 2016 Rio Olympics after using his celebrity status to promote homosexuality.

Another sportsman, rugby player Gareth Thomas, waited until his international career was well and truly over before announcing he was homosexual.  He is another sponsor of the Schools Out event in Bournemouth this Saturday. Thomas also sponsors LBGT History Month.

After ‘coming out’ he appeared in a truly repellent pose on the front cover of a homosexual magazine.  In 2015, Thomas took part in ‘Natural Born Winners’, a BBC televised challenge involving the notorious ‘Man versus Horse’ race.  The super-fit sporting giant and gay icon finished a dismal 401st out of 540 runners.

When they were promoted to the Premier League in May 2015, club owner Russian billionaire Maxim Demin threw a £300,000 party for the players in Las Vegas.

But that now seems a long time ago. Bournemouth AFC is currently in a relegation battle. They have six losses, one win (3-0 away to Swansea) and two draws from their last nine matches. The defeats include a 6-3 thumping by Everton and a 2-0 loss to Manchester City. They only recently lost by two goals to fellow-strugglers Crystal Palace and then to Hull City.

Winless in 2017, Bournemouth travel to West Bromwich later this month then visit Manchester United. Later in March they face West Ham and a resurgent Swansea City at home. On top of all that, Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has given his full backing to manager Eddie Howe. A public vote of confidence from the chairman is usually regarded as the kiss of death for a failing manager.

The Curse of Gay Pride

The Bible says: Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

The prophet Isaiah pronounces woe on those like Bournemouth AFC who turn good and evil upside down:

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

The Lord Jesus was not at all cool with those who corrupt children: Matt 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 

If Bournemouth AFC are relegated at the end of this season, the curse of gay pride will have fallen once more on a body corporate that thought it could mock God.

BMA predicts ‘pregnant man’ craze by banning ‘mothers’

The BMA predicted the ‘pregnant man’ craze by issuing absurd advice to doctors last year banning the use of the term ‘expectant mother’ in favour of ‘pregnant person’ so as not to offend transsexuals.

The advice was published in a BMA internal booklet: “A guide to effective communication: inclusive language in the workplace”.

Gender-neutral

The document is grindingly politically correct. Doctors, it says, should strive to be ‘gender-neutral’. A meeting has a ‘Chair’ not a ‘Chairman’. That one has whiskers on. So does “use the word ‘partner’ instead of ‘wife’ or ‘husband’.”  But “‘parent’ instead of ‘Mum’ or ‘Dad’, and ‘child’ instead of ‘son’ or ‘daughter’?”

One function of language is to convey a precise idea. In farming we can refer to cattle but it is often useful to specify bull, bullock, cow or heifer.  Eskimos are famously careful to differentiate between fifty different types of snow.

What if a woman has twins, one of each? With no access to ‘son’ and’daughter’ must doctors now refer to them as ‘Child A and Child B’? How will a parent cope with that?

The BMA veers off into the plainly fatuous.  It seriously suggests to its 160,000 members: “You can also mix up the word order in common expressions, eg instead of saying, ‘men and women’, use ‘women and men’.” There! That will deal a blow to ‘patriarchy’.

The BMA is even worried by pronouns, previously the preserve of crazy university student unions. Doctors should ‘use the term preferred by the individual’ even if it flies in the face of reality. A ‘trans-female’, which it helpfully explains is ‘ie male to female’, should therefore be referred to as ‘She or her’ and never ‘He or his’.

Similarly, a ‘transmale, ie female to male’ should be ‘He or his’ but never ‘She or her’. Every UK newspaper slavishly follows that dictum already.

Nor should doctors ‘use phases that are reductive and overly-simplify a complex subject. A person’s sex is determined by a number of factors’, they claim. Doctors should not speak of someone as ‘Biologically’ or ‘Genetically male/female’ or ‘Born and (sic) man/woman’. Perish the thought that someone is actually male or female. Now, in the world of medicine, people are said to be ‘Assigned’ or ‘Designated male/female at birth’.  If doctors have to worry about student politics will they have any time left to practice medicine?

If it will come as no surprise that feminism runs riot in the embarrassing guide.

‘Gender inequality,’ it moans, ‘is reflected in traditional ideas about the roles of women and men. Though they have shifted over time, the assumptions and stereotypes that underpin those ideas are often deeply rooted.’ That’s because they are God-given.

If it goes on: ‘If it is common to assume a woman will have children, look after them and take a break from paid work or work part-time to accommodate the family. … However, such assumptions and stereotypes can and often do have the effect of seriously disadvantaging women.’ Only in the work place, silly. Not in the home. Stuck in a feminist mindset, the BMA misses the fundamental reality that women and men are not in competition. ‘A large majority of people that (sic) have been pregnant or have given birth identify as women.’ If it does not matter how people ‘identify’. Every person who has ever given birth has been a woman. But that is not good enough for the BMA:

“We can include intersex men and transmen who may get pregnant by saying ‘pregnant people’ instead of ‘expectant mothers’.”

Intersex pregnancy is very rare indeed.

Intersex is a rare condition, affecting at most 0.05% of the population. Those sadly affected have a mixture of male and female organs. The South African athlete Caster Semenya, for example, has external female genitalia but internal testes instead of a womb and ovaries. If it is consequently very rare indeed for someone intersex to conceive and carry a baby to term.

Intersex individuals should be approached with compassion and sensitivity. But that is not to say society should overturn reality. Caster Semenya, for example, is brimming with testosterone.  He should not be competing in women’s races even though he has decided he ‘identifies as a woman’.

The overwhelming majority of hospitals, let alone doctors, will never see an intersex pregnancy.

‘Pregnant man’ is always a woman

The Sun newspaper has bought the rights to the story of Hayden Cross.  It describes her as ‘the first British man to give birth’ The only flaw in the story is that Hayden Cross is genetically a woman. She has the full set of female chromosomes. Naturally (in every sense of the word), she has a fully-functioning womb and ovaries. She became pregnant by a sperm donor. That was a man.

She has postponed ‘gender reassignment’, which kicks off with massive testosterone hormone injections, to carry her baby.

I am ‘mis-gendering’ Hayden Cross, according to the BMA, but I do not care. The truth is: Hayden Cross is a woman. No amount of male hormone and no surgical mutilation will alter that plain genetic fact. She will never be a ‘dad’ as The Sun ridiculously describes her. She will always be her baby’s mother.

Speaking about the BMA guide and linking to Hayden Cross, even the Daily Mirror said: ‘Some 775,000 women give birth in Great Britain every year – and there are no other known cases of transgender people having babies.’

There is actually another woman, a mother of three, in the United States, going down the same path. Her name is Tracy LaGondino but she now styles herself Thomas Beatie. The Sun idiotically describes her as ‘the world’s first pregnant man’.  Even the liberal Huffington Post is putting the expression ‘pregnant man’ in inverted commas.

So that’s one ‘pregnant man’ in the UK and one the US. The BMA is overturning reality and offending real mothers to solve a problem which is non-existent.  The numbers are “vanishingly small,” as the person cited below put it.

If you do not like ‘too much detail’, skip to the next heading.  The BBC interviewed another ‘trans-male’ woman.  She is the self-styled ‘Freddy who has been on BBC4’s Woman’s Hour.  ‘Freddy’ has a testosterone injection every twelve weeks. She has already had a mastectomy performed in the States.  At the same time they gave her ‘a male, contoured chest’.  How much that cost is not stated.  Hayden Cross only got on with her pregnancy because the NHS would not pay to store her eggs.

‘Freddy’ would also like to be a ‘parent’.  She objects to the term ‘mother’.  The surgeons have not been let loose on her internal organs or genitalia, so to become pregnant she will just have to stop the testosterone injections, wait for her menstrual cycle to kick back in and hope she is still fertile.  Stopping the testosterone, says the BBC, ‘ is risky for a trans man because it could lead to gender dysphoria’, which is a feeling of depression.

A post-truth world

If it was the Blair administration which started the rot. With the Gender Recognition Act 2004 Parliament legislated a lie. A majority of MPs and Peers voted to allow any individual to go back to his birth certificate and falsify it. (Yes, our masculine usage does include the feminine.)  Then the Equality Act 2010 made transgenderism a ‘protected characteristic’ which had to be promoted by public authorities.

Forget post-Christian and post-modern. Our elite are now living in a post-truth world.  In discussions about religion, it is common these days for people to talk about ‘my truth’ as opposed to ‘your truth’, let alone ‘the truth’.

Subjective truth does not actually work even in religion and doesn’t work in life and it certainly won’t work in a criminal court. If it is no use the burglar saying ‘his truth’ is that he was in the pub and that his fingerprints being all over the house he has broken into are ‘the forensic peoples’ truth.’ There is an objective truth the court has to agree upon.

It is the same in the Courts of Heaven. And as we are made in the image of God, playing fast and loose with the truth does not sit well with us either.

The BMA can pontificate all it likes, but there will only ever be pregnant mothers.
