Did Jesus Christ have gay friends?

In many churches, tolerance has become an idol. I have heard numerous times Christians happily say that they have “gay friends,” as though it were a badge of honor. I have no problem with sharing the Gospel with homosexuals, but why should we make it a major goal for Christians to have gay friends?

Would Christ have gay friends? “Yes, since he spent time with tax collectors and prostitutes,” would be the answer of many modern Christians. But while this is true, this does not prove that Christ would have gay friends. A tax collector and prostitute are not homosexuals.

In Genesis Abraham is visited by three figures, one of whom he refers to as “My Lord” (Genesis 18:3), and who Scripture calls “the LORD” (Genesis 18:17). This person was then God in the flesh, and thus Jesus Christ.

After much feasting, Christ and the other two men leave Abraham to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah:

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. (Genesis 18:21-22)

The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was homosexual deviancy (19:4-10). Christ therefore, destroyed a city for ‘gay’ behavior. Christ believed in the Law which Moses, being divinely inspired, wrote against homosexuality:

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)

He would also have subscribed to the Mosaic law which forbade men from wearing women’s clothing and vice versa:

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God. (Deuteronomy 22:5)

So would Christ have gay friends? No. But do you know who would? Muhammad. Muhammad, contrary to Scripture, in fact wore the clothes of his child-bride Aisha as a ritual to receive revelation from Allah.

In the Sahih Collection of al-Bukhari, Hadith Number 2442,
Chapter 52,
 Muhammad says:

The revelation does not come to me when I am in the garment of any woman except ‘A’isha.

In Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith Number 3941, the same impostor states:

Do not hurt me with Aisha; for by Allah, the inspiration did not descent on me while I was in the coverings (lihaf) of any of you (women) except Aisha.”

In the Sahih collection of Imam Muslim, Hadith Number 4472, one Zaynab Bint Jahsh requests a visit to see Muhammad

while he was with Aisha in (fee) her robe (Mirt) and in the same state that Fatimah found him in.”

As we write in our book, For God or For Tyranny, the Quran itself promises boy loving for jihadists in paradise.

The followers of Muhammad consisted of mukhannathun, or cross dressers. It is the same word as mukhannatah, which in Arabic means homosexual.

Daayiee Abdullah, an openly gay imam, describes the mukhannathun as

sort of a male-female, cross-dressing types. They existed. And they also lived or worked in the household of the Prophet. Aisha, one of the Prophet’s wives, indicated that there were men who worked in the household. They were mukhannathun. That generally meant that they were not necessarily castrated, but not having an interest in women.

Muhammad not only was a cross-dresser, but he had gay friends. So the next time you hear a modern Christian laud himself for having gay friends and criticize the church for prohibiting homosexuality, let him know that Jesus wouldn’t have gay friends, but Muhammad did.

    Great article and very interesting – I wrongly thought that many Muslims hated homosexuality too. I’m hoping some more knowledgable readers can help me to get something straight (ha!). I can see homosexuality is sinfull, but why is that? What I mean is, beyond stating it is sinfull, what makes God hate homosexuality so much that it’s worth destroying cities for? I have atheist friends who quiz me on this and would love to tell them.

      To be honest, you will have to seek the Lord in prayer and the Bible as to why sodomy is such a sin that a whole civilisation was destroyed because of it.

      My guess is that it is because sodomy is an act of rebellion which overturns God’s created order of sexuality being exclusively designed as one man and one woman becoming one flesh. Or it could be to do with the sin of pride which is always popping up alongside sodomy. (As in ‘London Gay Pride’) Ezekiel 16:49 also mentions associated self-satisfaction and injustice. In Romans 1:23-28 both male and female homosexual activity is associated with ‘a reprobate mind’ and with a form of idolatry in which the human form is worshiped. That is probably enough.

      Of course you always hit back with the observation that if, for whatever reason, institutionalised sodomy in Sodom and Gomorrah together with the associated sins identified in scripture so angered Almighty God that their cities were destroyed by fire and volcanic eruption, then we really ought to turn round and stop going down that road.

      Reply to Godspeed:

      God is sovereign – if He has declared homosexuality to be an abomination, sinful and contrary to nature then we should accept that because He makes the rules, not us.

      You don’t have to be ‘nice’ to be a Christian or to be quoted when you have something interesting to say.

      Actually, Wallid Shoebat renounced his terrorism and is now not only a Christian but a friend of Israel. In fact, he has co-authored a book with a Messianic Jewish writer and you can find him on YouTube with Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Bernis’ on The Jewish Voice. To see Jewish Christians and Arab Christians relate as brothers and friends is wonderful.
      Negative so-called exposes have been written about Wallid Shoebat. I have read the same things about other sound Bible teachers–usually from people whose own teachings are unsound.
      Satan is the accuser and the ones he accuses most vehemently are ones who are the most threat to his kingdom.

        There’s no such thing as a “Messianic Jewish” anything. Jews do NOT accept Jesus; he was a FALSE messiah. Christianity is idolatry contrary to the Torah and you will face the real G-d for your dishonest claims.

    You are right in your article, Stephen. Tolerance doesn’t mean regarding sodomites as normal people with whom we can have friendships. The Bible teaches that we are to be seperate from filth – 2nd Cor 6 v 14-18 and c.7 v 1.

    We should point out to them that they can be changed by the power of God but I would stop short of calling them “friends”. Light and darkness cannot mix.

      We have to balance these verses with 1 Corinthians 5 v 9. i don’t believe from this verse that you can seperate out homosexual behaviour from other forms of sexual immorality or indeed idolatry/greed. We have to ask what the verses quoted ” Cor 6 vv 14-18 mean for our concept of friendships with unbelievers, business arrangements etc in general.

      Of course recognising Paul’s words in Romans 1 of the seriousness of the sin. There is the case to consider of whetehr we should be more willing to reach out in proportion to the seriousness of the sin

        All sin is serious; however, homosexuality is particularly bad because it is against nature.

        I have no objection to meeting with homosexuals in order to discuss these matters and have no hatred of them. However, to call them “friends” is going too far.

          I do take your point, but the discussion/article did lead me to ask and challenge myself what friendship means with regard to those who are not believers. Jesus was described as the friend of sinners (although I don’t believe he described Himself thus) who called the tax collectors, prostitutes etc to himself. Were Jesus’s only”friends” His disciples? What does it mean for us?

    The post and comments are a good example of why your brand of religion must be fought and destroyed.

    It is used as an excuse of hatred and bigotry. I know better than the men who wrote your book and lived in the desert 2000 years ago.

    It always amazes me how Christians reserve such special hatred for Muslims. Jesus hates the gays, but Mohammed loves them! Priceless!

    Men lying with men is an abomination and opposed to God’s creation.
    It expresses rebellion against having your Creator tell you what is right (He being the Potter & we, the clay).
    It expresses pride that we know better than the God of all creation and our determined to ‘do our own thing’.
    It expresses a decision to choose to believe there is no God and to believe the idiotic notion that the earth made itself.
    God expressed Himself in Jesus Christ the Righteous – the expression of God is the Word – put aside Christ and you are in darkness, and have lost your way.
    There is a spirit prevalent in our times which has penetrated Parliament giving ministers the inclination to make uncalled for laws opposed to God’s order – this is evident as these laws (the redefinition of marriage) are not vote winners as can be seen in the Eastleigh by-election.
    This spirit has been working on minds and hearts through TV and the left wing element which predominates programme makers and has brainwashed our youth and thence our adult population into believing a lie.
    Christians are portrayed as ‘freaks’ and heros like Professor Brian Cox as atheistic evolutionists.
    So, who would you prefer to be like? The ‘freak’, or Brian Cox?
    No contest, if you don’t look beyond the end of your nose!

    It’s funny how someone can claim that Christians hate Moslems (As an English speaker, I prefer the English word to the Arabic one). I have never know any Christian to carry out Jihad or suicide bombings in the name of Christ.
    Of course there was the appalling Crusades, Inquisition and support for the Nazis. But that was by Catholics (the church in which I was raised and “educated.”) Ironically, that same anti-semitic church, is friendly towards Islam but not Protestants and Jews. In fact, Pope John Paul II had a phone line directly to his friend, Arafat, while the latter was training children to be suicide bombers.
    Wallid Shoebat was a Moslem and “Palestinian” terrorist and is now a pro-Israel Christian. I should think he knows more about Islam than you, Barry. As his family are Moslems are you saying that he hates them?
    To want to stop people hurting themselves is hatred and bigotry, is it? I would think teaching children in schools that Jews are pigs and dogs (using Nazi style illustrations to do so) is hatred and bigotry. I would think that the slaughter of defenceless Christians going on now in Moslem countries is real bigotry and hatred.
    Actually, Wallid Shoebat has shown the double standards of Islam because Islam imprisons and even kills homosexuals. Christians only hope they will change and that is bigorty! Really?
    It is in Islamic countries where homosexuals are persecuted. How many Christians here have counter demonstrations against a very small but extremely militant minority when they flaunt their pride against the rest of us? You know the answer.
    I suggest, Barry, that you Google Michael Swift’s “The Homosexual Agenda,” parts of which appeared in Boston’s “Gay Community News.” There you will find utter loathing and comtempt for the minorty filled with sick, disgusting, violent threat towards the rest of us.
    Besides, one of my wife’s and my closest friends WAS a practising, effeminate homosexual. He has changed. He now goes witnessing to his former community. I suppose he is full of hatred and bigotry too!

      The Crusades were for the most part a response to militant Islam (look up the battles of Lepanto and Vienna when the Protestant nations stood back while Catholic armies defended Europe.) According to a fairly recent BBC programme (available on Youtube) conducted by non-Catholic historians the Inquisition was a model of legal rectitude for the time and the executions were numbered in hundreds over centuries rather than mass indiscriminate slaughter). The Nazi leadership were mainly baptised as Catholics – though not all and were elected to power by a majority Protestant nation, Von Clausewiz and several others who tried to assassinate Hitler were practicing Catholics.

    the Old Testament prophets, whose writings pointed to Jesus as did the Psalms,lived before 2,000 years ago.

    And as for hating Muslims: far from it. Their religion at best contains glimpses of The Truth but at worse misses the point of The Truth.
